i would like to say my ideal PJO adaptation (if i was being physically forced against my will to have to pick a live action adaptation over an animated one for some reason) would be a combo like writing of the musical + casting of the show + visuals of the movies
BUT the show actually does have the playwright for the musical as one of the major writers for like three episodes and that did nothing for it. so...
#pjo#riordanverse#pjo tv crit#i do love the casting for the musical lots and lots though#it was really good#i do also have some nitpicks for show casting but they're largely inconsequential#like majority i very much enjoy and think are cast well#i only have one i'd say im actually disappointed with and that's Poseidon. idk he just feels. bland??? does that make sense?#like idk maybe it's the costuming but im not getting Sea God *or* Fishing Dad from him#like i think i kinda see what they were going for and i saw some gifs of him in another show where he plays a pirate and its like#okay. *little* bit better. but idk im just not getting Poseidon from it#in general most of the immortals in the show dont feel very Immortal(tm) but thats definitely mostly just the writing/show itself#not any reflection of the casting#my only other two are i would have liked plus sized Clarisse. i am VERY sad we didnt get that#Dior is a VERY good Clarisse though so i'm not too upset about it. i like her Clarisse energy. the yelling is fantastic.#my most controversial pjo tv take is im still meh on Walker. like he's fine. but like he's kind of Just Fine to me so far#its probably mostly the writing being bad but he hasnt grown on me as Percy yet. i can tell he has the energy though in interviews n stuff#and the main trio dynamic in interviews and stuff is *very* good. i just wish the show writing was better#because the casting IS very good but they have so little to work with. you can really tell theyre trying their best#i like to joke the show would be better if they just set the cast loose in the woods doing in-character improv#like its clear basically all of them know their characters SUPER well. id watch 8 episodes of in the woods pjo cosplay improv.

do you think the reason agatha’s trial felt weird is because she was the only one who did not actually buy into the mythos of the road since she knew the truth? like that was why no perspective change and all the other reasons why people thought it was a fake trial
#agatha all along#aaa spoilers#txt#i really liked the idea behind how the witches road came to be#like showing her and nicky coming up with the lyrics and everything#but i felt like there was a lot of these last two episodes that felt weird or jarring#i think that’s partly the fault of it being such a short run time for the whole show in general (tbh that’s probably like most of it)#but there were just also weird choices? idk#like jen’s big declaration about protecting them in honor of Lilia or w.e and then just.. flying off to nowhere??#or the way Both billy and agatha kept switching how they felt about each other with like every sentence#I did really like her thing where she helped him get tommy a body though#and her and rios vibes were off too. like it felt like there should have been a little more build up before they fought after the road?#like when they were still talking on the road it felt like they could have done more with it#just like jen getting her powers back could have been more#or billy standing up for agatha could have been more#billy’s homecoming and attempting to banish agatha too#I liked that his parents were there but it was so quick and then he just.. leaves again?? no problem?? and I guess they’re fine with it now#like it felt like the things they did well. they did really well#while everything else felt.. idk.. kinda flat?#which honestly was the same feeling I had after watching agatha’s trial episode#honestly this show need at least another 3 or 4 episodes if not more#and I know people are going to make this all about agatha and rio but i really don’t think that’s the issue#i do think the story could have benefited more from showing more of their actual backstory or a few more interactions with them or just#like i said earlier done more with what they had. again that scene on the road before rio dips could have been used way more effectively#and I don’t mean in like having them be soft or lovey like I know a lot of people wanted (never be against that) but I don’t think it was#needed.. but Something was??#i feel like overall what everyone went through on the road didn’t actually truly effect them or change them?#like jen left. agatha and rio were like back to liek the road never happened. everyone else but billy is dead#i think the only person who was truly changed was maybe billy?#which makes the whole journey feel so unsatisfying? like things could still have ended the same while still showing them changed? idk

#pokemon#pokemon oc#pokemon ranger#pokemon tcg#clai's ocs#oc: alto#clai's art#the thought process during this piece was literally ''NOOO I DONT WANT TO RENDER NOOOOO rendering is fine actually. i dont care anymore''#i tried to come up with a cool card effect? someone more well versed in the tcg please tell me if this is viable or op or sucks ass entirely#i will genuinely change the post if the effect is bad i want my beloved to have ONLY the best#other ideas i considered was smth like. finding a pokemon to play straight away to reference ranger capturing#or an effect that only benefit colorless type pokemon so that alto would pair with flying types that get assigned colorless#but since i wanted the card's name to be alto's Justice it felt more appropriate for the player to gain smth after being damaged#like maybe it depended on the opponents prize cards and how many they'd taken already#the prior effects like the colorless benefit would probably go on a standard ''Alto'' card that doesnt have the extra word appeneded yknow#i put plenty of thought into it haha i was browsing through the bulbapedia articles trying to figure out what a good card effect was#only played like. less than ten matches of tcg i'm still figuring stuff out JDJBFJF#the clouds also!! originally i was drawing generic fluffy clouds#but then it hit me. i named alto after specific clouds. why am i doing generic ones instead of the ones named Alto-Something#so these are meant to be altostratus! i can bearly draw generic clouds though idk how well i pulled off smth more specific HJEHFKF#had a lot to say abt this one i just really liked the idea of an alto card so i made sure it was as perfect as i could get it

remembering that im gonna have to get my wisdom teeth taken out sometime next year and experiencing all 5 stages of panic
#like yknow you see so many videos of people completely out of it#or in a lot of pain after wisdom teeth removal#and i. do not wanna go through that#like. ...they will have to fully put me under dhkjsldkfjlsfs like im gonna have to be OUT#not even because of the anxiety stuff- straight up the dentist told me i'd have to go under#because idk my teeth are fucked or something#logically my parents and the dentist told me its not that painful and i wouldn't be that loopy after#and i should probably believe them buttttttttt i donttttttt#also im worried about like. getting so overstimulated from anxiety while they're trying to put me under#that i'll have a meltdown and they won't be able to do the procedure#cause ive recently realized. thats absolutely what happened the times i had to be like.#physically dragged/carried out of doctors/dentist offices as a kid cause i was ''tantruming''#and wouldn't let them do a procedure even though i knew it was necessary and wanted it to happen#it was only THIS YEAR that i realized that wasn't just panic. it was panic leading to a meltdown.#i haven't had that happen in a long time but also. i haven't been faced with a medical procedure in a long time.#(outside of needles of course but i've learned to handle needles just fine)#so idk how my body and brain will react when it comes to like. actually being there for the procedure#the fact there were multiple times i had to be physically held down by multiple people as a kid#while having a meltdown#so doctors could do things like draw blood or insert needles and stuff...#it like. obviously as previously stated now im okay with needles but like#those experiences being in my brain probably doesn't help

Ultimate Dirk is doing something with his homebrew SBURB game and/or Arquiusprite is there helping Dirk prep for the game.
Jade gets told that Rose and/or Tavros are gone and it breaks her concentration on keeping the force field up (and that’s the cliffhanger we get for the first update of this month)
Dave and Aradia doing more time powers training and Jade is there (or they all smoke weed or something)
We get some dialogue with Kanaya (on the green space ship) talking to Roxy about Rose going off with Dirk.
Alt Calliope tries to once again posses Jade
Aradia tells Sollux its time to GTFO of there and he’s surprised she’s back, asks for 5 more minutes and she asks what game he’s playing and they catch up.

I have abs not from working out but from coughing so much all the time for like a decade that I might as well have been doing crunches
#I've been to multiple doctors about the Unending Cough that I've had since i was like 16 and they're all just like idk bro#I've had xrays so probably nothing dangerous. so i just have to deal with the cough forever i guess#it's fine? I'm used to it. annoying mostly. sometimes i do think damn it would be convenient if i didn't cough all the time tho#esp for going to sleep. or in a quiet public place that's the worst#i think it's genuinely gotten worse though bc like#the kids always bring home 7 different colds at once and those linger for me way longer than everyone else#like there's the default cough and the advanced one. colds just make it 2x bad for like a month#and after a month they come home with a brand new cold#but you know what at least it gave me abs as a consolation prize#not like a 6pac to be clear im not ripped its just 11s lol
