Before Hazbin get greenlight by A24. Any thoughts?
100% not surprised Huskerdust is planned to be canon lol. Anyway, I know nothing is set in stone since this was just a pitch episode Bible before it got picked up, but I think it’s safe to say these pitches give us a good idea on what the show will be like. Despite Viv claiming the show would be story focused (what did I tell you, she’d get it backwards lol) these pitches are clearly more filler + character focused, so more of a character driven show with no overarching narrative. Seems like mainly Viv was going for a “wacky hijinks ensue” vibe for Hazbin, cause none of this gives me story driven, I wouldn’t be surprised if her vision for the structure was similar to Always Sunny in Philadelphia, since she loves that show and stated that the OG version of Hazbin was like it. It also seems that she’s doing the same thing she did with Helluva, where there’s a serialized A plot and a filler B plot, which….whoo boy that makes me scared, knowing how she writes this stuff in Helluva, we’ll see how that goes. 😬
It’s a nitpick but it also bothers me on how not ONE of these episodes actually have to do with redeeming a sinner…ya know, the main plot for the show? However I do know that normally the first seasons of a show tend to relax and be filler + character focused before it dives into the serialized stuff. Still, you could have gotten so many unique and funny scenarios with the idea of various sinners coming to the hotel.
It’s also clear that some of these episode concepts moved to Helluva lol, as well as the episode where Charlie has a meeting with the Deadly sins definitely won’t happen since Viv confirmed that they won’t appear in HH and only HB. There’s also an obvious cutoff, I’m assuming the “Issues” were the planned comics Viv had in mind before she scrapped them all entirely. However wouldn’t be surprised if the comic ideas went into the show too. Aside from that there’s nothing really wrong with this pitch, only giant thing noticeable is that it’s clearly more character/filler driven. No matter what the story is, I just hope Viv actually planned this shit out this time, instead of merely having loose concepts in her head and writing as she goes lol.
#but yeah for now Hazbin seems to be character driven with wacky hijinks#I guess part of me shouldn’t be upset by that cause she sure as hell sucks at writing a serialized story#still it’s weird how she always talked about Hazbin being story/plot driven with a narrative and then we see this lol#it’s literally Always Sunny and I’m not surprised#also episodes that actually focus on Charlie and Vaggie? please be true#vivziepop critical#spindlehorse critical#hazbin hotel critical#Hazbin critical#reply#ask

principiis amoris.
synopsis: In other words, five times Dottore swore he hated you and the one time he realized it was the opposite.
includes: dottore w/ gn! reader
notes: I wanted to try my hand at these 5+1 fics, and Dottore seemed to be the best candidate. Behold, 6k+ words of fluff. Reader and Dottore are complete menaces (and not very good people) and you also throw a book at someone.
I. blindness
Much to anyone’s surprise, Zandik was having what he would call a good day. Today was the last day of all of his especially boring and easy classes, the illegal parts he secretly ordered came in, and he would be able to stay in his dorm for a while before classes started again. A break from these all these so-called scholars would be much appreciated. He was growing rather tired of them and was greatly looking forward to the much-needed retreat of progressing his research. He could feel it already - the sweet sensation of tinkering with the new parts quickened his pace.
What he was not expecting was his door to be open, voices and rustling noises coming from inside. Immediately a frown appeared and his good feeling was lost. Quickly, he entered the room and saw an unknown figure donning the Akademiya’s robes, and an academic counselor he recognized standing in his room. Now he was glad he made sure to put his tools away. Ones that were totally not prohibited.
“What is the meaning of this?” He didn’t try to hide the loathing in his voice.
The counselor shifted in place, clearly not wanting to be here anymore due to his presence. You, on the other hand, didn’t seem to care. In fact, Zandik could see that you were smiling.
“Ah, hello Zandik. Good to see you are doing well,” she lied through her teeth. “This here is [Name], your-”
“Your new roommate!” you chimed in. The counselor shrunk in her place even more, probably regretting all her life choices now as Zandik’s laser gaze was on her now.
“I thought I made myself clear when I informed you that I did not want anyone in my dorm?”
“Yes, well, as per the rules of the Akademiya, every scholar should try to have a roommate for the purpose of cooperation…” Her voice became progressively smaller as Zandik continued to burn his gaze onto her, “a-and collaboration. Regardless of your thoughts, [Name] has to try to dorm with someone, and that someone happens to be you.” You nodded your head in agreement as the counselor spoke.
“So please, um, try to get along!” She quickly excused herself and scurried out of the room, leaving the two of you alone. You smiled at him yet again, sticking your hand out for a handshake, to which he only spared a glance and turned away.
“Pleased to meet you! I’m excited to live with you!”
“We’ll see about that,” he scoffed. You’d be out of here in less than a week, just like the few other roommates he had. But to think he had to spend his break with a nuisance in his room now? That irritated him to no end. Though what confused him more was your sunny disposition. Quite literally everyone in the Akademiya knew him and acted the complete opposite.
“Hehe, sure. By the way, I call the top bunk bed!”
It was from that moment he knew.
Zandik hated you.
II. relentless
Zandik had been giving you the cold shoulder since the moment you stepped into his (now yours too) dorm. You knew this would be a tough journey, but damn. At least he was good eye candy and wasn’t loud. (If you excused his eerie laughter in the middle of the night.)
On this particular night, Zandik was at his makeshift workbench tinkering with Archon knows what, as usual. Unfortunately, even though you found it to be interesting, you were unfamiliar with all of that mechanical stuff. You always would look at him while he worked, and while he would sometimes snap at you to stop staring, he never actually did anything about it. Today was one of those nights.
“You’ve certainly been at that for a while,” you commented. Zandik showed no sign of reaction.
“You don’t want anything to eat? Or drink?” you continued.
“Don’t have time,” he responded with no hesitation, far too interested in his new play toys, and also wanting to shut down this conversation immediately. But, you didn’t think these were the ones he usually used. You think he kept the deadlier ones hidden away in case you reported him or something.
“To consume something?”
“To make something right now,” he corrected.
“Well, yeah, I know. That’s why I’m going to make it for you,” you clarified, kind of surprised (but also not) that you needed to say it directly. This managed to make your roommate pause.
“So you are offering to cook for me?” he clarified your statement yet again.
“Yes?” This time he freed his hand of items completely and looked you dead in the eye.
“Explain.”
“E-Explain? Well, I mean, we’re roommates and all, habiting the same space. It only makes sense that we do things we each other once in a while.”
“So you expect a transaction.”
“A transaction…? Huh? No! This isn’t some kind of business deal or whatever. No, I do not expect anything back from you. I am doing this for you because I want to. There’s nothing more to it.” There was no response from Zandik, and he was silent as if he was trying to process what you just said, which was rather cute.
“I do not understand.”
You mentally sighed. “That’s fine, for now. I’m gonna whip something up anyway.” Before he could protest further, you disappeared into the tiny kitchen the Akademiya’s dorms provided.
You had to think of a suitable snack. He probably wouldn’t eat it if it was too cumbersome and distracting from whatever he was doing. He needed some kind of finger food… and you had just the idea. You believed that when you were a struggling Akademiya student, it was only natural to have some good recipes up your sleeve.
Samosas. Delicious bite-sized pieces of goodness. Although they would take a bit to make, you didn’t think Zandik would care. He hardly realized the difference between minutes and hours when he was in this kind of scientific state. And you were glad you stocked up the pantry with your own products because you really had no idea how Zandik lived in these conditions.
Soon enough, you had made a portion for him (and secretly snuck a few for yourself) and you had also made a piping hot cup of coffee, a student’s best friend of course. You then plated it and brought it to your roommate, setting it down in front of him wordlessly, to which he seemed surprised.
Zandik did not realize you were even still doing that. He thought you were bluffing. But now that such aromatic food was right in front of him, his stomach came to life and he noticed the dryness of his throat. With squinted eyes, he tentatively picked up one of the samosas and inspected it. (Did he think you poisoned it or something?) But then he popped one into his mouth and began to chew experimentally. His face did not betray his emotions, but your questions were answered by his next actions.
“Hmm,” he said matter-of-factly, before nomming on another samosa. You peered at him from the top bunk bed as he polished off the bowl of samosas rather quickly. Now, he was waiting for the coffee to cool.
“Sooooo, how was my cooking?” you questioned, already internally knowing the answer even if he didn’t admit it.
“It was convenient,” he admitted. Most of the time, Zandik did not cook for himself, as he found the process a waste of time when he could be doing other things.
“I’m glad. And the taste?”
“It was fine.” Actually, it was far more than fine. The constant consumption of the easiest food to make had dulled his taste buds and made him accustomed to bland food. Though your food was quite tasty, Zandik was not about to let you get a big head now.
“Just fine? Seemed like you scarfed them down pretty quickly,” you teased.
“The quicker I eat, the quicker I am able to devote my full attention to the research,” he corrected you. You pouted but still felt pleased.
“Then I’ll make something for you every day.”
He felt on guard again at your kindness. “Why?”
You raised an eyebrow at him. “Didn’t I already say? ‘Cause we’re roommates and all, and also soon-to-be friends. And friends usually help each other out, yeah? And also because I’m kind of worried how you eat the same thing over and over.”
He immediately frowned at your proposal. “I am not your friend. And never will be.”
You shrugged your shoulders and moved to lie down instead, pulling the blankets over you. “Ehe, we’ll see. I have a way with words, you know!” You smiled and winked at him, to which you received a deadpan glare. “Good night, Zandik! Oh, and make sure to clean up afterward!”
“Hmph.”
Friend. He toyed with the word and idea in his head, mocking it internally. Friend… friend, as if that could ever be feasible. Of course not.
Zandik hated you.
III. possessiveness
It had been a while since you moved in with Zandik, and he stopped treating you with disdain. Though, Zandik was Zandik, so you still got a tongue-lashing from time to time. (But you could never take him seriously anymore, which irritated him.)
Lately, though, he had begun to show you some of his research, and even begun to let you tinker with some of his stuff! Only while he was present of course, but you were elated. Though, he seemed to be enjoying this more than you somehow. You could ask one question and suddenly he’d be on a tangent. But you were just happy he was talking to you.
You had been upgraded from hated stranger to tolerable stranger to okay acquaintance in Zandik’s eyes. You had insisted on calling him your friend, to which he still did not understand, but for some reason he allowed it. Perhaps it was because it felt nice.
Actually, you were a helpful, okay acquaintance. You frequently looked over his notes for him, correcting spelling and grammar errors from when he scribbled so fast. Tidied up his bed and work space too. The best part was that you had begun to run errands for him so he didn’t need to leave the dorm himself. After these series of events, you had declared yourself his assistant without even asking him first, but he supposed that was okay. He valued usefulness. And maybe your company a bit, too. And although he enjoyed silence the most, maybe he liked how nice your voice was in the background.
Today was one of those days where he waited for you to get back from an errand. It was quick and easy, and the seller wasn’t too far away. Like always, he occupied himself with his work and awaited your return, which proved to be fruitful as usual. But after a while, something did not feel right.
Zandik could not put his finger on it. Why did he have this feeling in the back of his mind? He was quite irritated at this itch he could not reach. Perhaps you would have-
That’s right. You. You. You. Where were you? That’s when he realized that you were gone longer than you usually were. To think that his body and mind would get so accustomed to your presence. He wasn’t sure whether to feel disgusted or not by this feeling.
He wondered what was the holdup. But there was naught he could do except wait. And wait. And wait. Until the jiggle of the doorknob drew his attention and you stepped through the door with the items he requested.
“Hey, Zandik,” you greeted, locking the door behind you and dropping the bag on the table. He didn’t respond, but you didn’t think that was anything strange since he never cared much for greetings. “Got your stuff,” you continued your normal routine, kicking off your shoes and shedding your sweater, expecting the silence to continue.
“What took you so long?” You almost did a double-take when he spoke.
“What?”
“What took you so long?” he repeated.
“Oh, on the way back, some students stopped me and asked if I could explain some stuff to them. I guess I did take a bit longer than usual. Why?” you questioned. Did he really notice the difference? It hadn’t even been that long, maybe ten to fifteen minutes extra that you took. And plus, it’s not like you two were doing anything together. Just sitting in silence with metal clanking as usual.
When you did not get any response, you raised your eyebrows and tip-toed your way over to him to get a glimpse of his expression. It was mostly empty if you ignored the eye twitching and the downward curve. You had to dig your fingernails into your palm to control the chuckles.
“Could it be… did you miss little old me, Zandik?”
“Perish the thought,” Zandik immediately interrupted before you could even finish your sentence. “Your whereabouts are not my concern,” he vehemently denied.
“Mhm, alright then.”
“I simply do not see why you need to talk to those so-called scholars. They are not worth the time or energy to even look at.”
Ah, there it was. So he was jealous. You understood now.
“Well, I was just doing what a normal, nice person would do.”
“The fact that you are still living with me proves you’re not normal. As for the nice part, you don’t need to do that for anyone.”
“Oh really? So what should I do, turn a blind eye to everyone else and save the sweet words for you?” you joked.
“Yes. Were you not the one who declared yourself as my assistant? Assistants always follow their seniors,” he stated matter-of-factly.
You were completely surprised at his mini confession, that if you spoke carelessly, you knew you’d stutter. But you weren’t complaining. You ignored the heat on your face, and matched his words.
“Hmm… I would say in that case, you can’t speak to anyone either, but it’s not like you do that anyway,” you said simply, biting down on your lip to prevent laughing. Zandik immediately scowled at your statement.
“I don’t need, want, or care to speak to anyone. But since you clearly need to be around these low-tier scholars, you can get out this instant.” You couldn’t help but double over with giggles now at his defensiveness and landed on Zandik’s bed. He huffed. You loved when he acted like this.
“Ah, I’m so glad I asked to dorm with you,” you giggled with a dopey grin. Zandik paused his work, taking in what you just said.
“You… what?”
You turned to lay on your side and propped yourself up on your arm. “Hmm? Did I say something strange?” you questioned.
“You chose to live here? With me, of your own choice? I knew it was strange when the counselor chose me of all people. Surely there were others available?” Zandik was utterly baffled as he had now temporarily abandoned his tinkering to gauge your expression.
“Yes! Shall I recount the exact events for you?” Without waiting for an answer, you prattled on. “Okay so, I went to the counselor lady and she wanted me to dorm with this random guy, and I was like okay cool, but then I got this little sneak peek of the list she had and I saw your name in fancy handwriting. And then I was like, hey, that’s the smart cute morally dubious guy that I hear people talking about! So then I said, nah, give Zandik to me instead please- hey, why is your face kind of red?”
You ended your little rambling and sat up straight, leaning into your roommate’s face. “Hey, are you embar-” Before you could finish your sentence, he quickly spun back around to face his desk, trying to block out your incessant giggling.
“Shut up,” he hissed in reply, quick to defend himself. “No one in this school would willingly live with me.” And how dare you call him that? That… c-word.
“Well,” you clutched your chest to prevent any more laughter, “That’s clearly not true anymore, because I’ve been here for quite a while! But wow, your face!” You toppled back onto his bed grinning. He swore you were brain-dead.
Zandik hated you.
IV. like-mindedness
Zandik did not like being in public. That was something you came to realize and understand rather quickly. For the most part, you had no qualms with it. You were quite content with bantering with him in the privacy of the dorm or in the desert or forest looking for whatever specimens he wanted. There were no distractions, no other people to give you weird stares or looks.
It was another normal day for you, and you came to realize that you’d actually been living with Zandik for quite a while. You liked to think that you two were rather close now. The time had flown by quickly for you, but apparently very long for others. To say people were baffled was an understatement.
People were shocked, fascinated, intrigued, fearful, any word you could think of, at how you managed to dorm with Zandik and still be alive, mentally and physically. Many people even applauded you for managing to live with Zandik for so long. You had people coming up to you asking for tips on how you confronted your fears so easily. The crazier ones even wanted to write a paper on your mental fortitude. (Thankfully your roommate hadn’t found out about that yet.)
Today, however, the two of you decided to stop by Puspa Café after class. It was a nice day to dine outside, and the coffee and food there was excellent. You had no complaints, especially since this was your first time doing this kind of thing with Zandik. It was going quite well, as the two of you read over your notes in silence until whispers began to penetrate the tranquility.
“Hey, look over there. Is that Zandik?”
“Oh wow, you’re right! This is my first time seeing him outside of class.”
“Really? This is my first time seeing him in general.”
“Well yeah, he only goes to class and then back to his dorm. Everyone knows he’s a freak.” Their blathering continued and you twitched your eye, unable to concentrate. You peaked at Zandik but he looked unbothered.
“We’re right in front of them and can still talk about you like that?” You were simultaneously shocked and impressed at their audacity and stupidity. Zandik simply shrugged his shoulders, his uncaring attitude shining through as he was practically immune to these kinds of scenarios now. You huffed and flipped a page in your book. Sometimes you wished you could borrow some of his ability to not care what people think.
But there was only so much you could take. And Archons above, these scholars and their incessant talking were annoying. You had no idea how Zandik could continue to read so intently with this racket. At least he was more pretty when he was quiet.
Slowly you stood up, and Zandik glanced at you, a bit confused but not too interested, still absorbed in his own book. His eyes returned to the text, but then he heard a loud thump from the side. Now more of his attention was on you, as he saw you now closed the thick book shut.
“[Name]?” he questioned, raising an eyebrow. You were now retrieving some Mora, probably for the bill, and laying it on the table. “Do you have business to attend to?”
“Business? You know what, yes, yes I do,” you chuckled a bit eerily. “But it’ll only take a couple of seconds.” With that, you picked up the textbook and lifted it up and down like a weight. Finally, you positioned yourself properly and raised your arm toward the direction of the student.
You threw the fucking textbook.
It was a sight that Zandik would never forget. A heavy book that would hurt anyone’s arm from lugging it around, flew through the air, and with uncanny precision, knocked the scholar right in the face.
It was dead silence for a few seconds.
And then chaos.
Screams erupted from the other students at the table at the sight of their fallen friend. A commotion was born as people scrambled to the boy. Zandik was having a bit of trouble comprehending what just happened. Yes, he just understood that you just threw a textbook at a guy, but he did not understand at the same time. Even he knew not to harm someone in public. (Private was a different case.) And you did it with no hesitation, no logical thought process of what would happen. It was an activity far from what most scholars did.
While he was in a little stupor, you quickly pushed your papers into your bag and slung it over your shoulder. “Hey! Teyvat to Zandik! Don’t just sit there! We have to leave the scene!” you scolded him, taking initiative and stuffing his work into his bag as well. He wasn’t the most pleased with how you treated his precious research material but that was only a fleeting thought compared to what just occurred. You threw his bag over your shoulder as well and cursed at how heavy his damn textbook was. But what he did not expect was what you did next.
Rolling your shoulders back to prepare yourself for the weight, you then grabbed his hand and started pulling him away.
Zandik then had no words to describe his emotions. He could only focus on the prickles that arose from all over his body at such prolonged and close contact with you. He was used to your teasing - running your hands through his hair on occasion, or leaning in close to his ear to whisper something, but this simply broke his scale. He felt as though he was moving unconsciously, feet moving in sync with yours, and he had no idea how to feel or even understand this phenomenon.
“Hey, I know you can walk faster than that!” Your voice snapped him out of his unfamiliar sensations, and that’s when he realized what was happening. You had actually managed to drag him so far along that you were both probably halfway through the city looking like complete, bumbling fools. And you were still holding his hand, and that’s when he realized again how lovely you looked in this moment. He quickly discarded those thoughts.
“Release me this instant, [Name],” he threatened, immediately putting his vexed look back up. He could feel your warmth penetrating his whole body just from your hand.
“Sure, sure~! Let’s turn into this alley to hide,” He could tell that was a complete lie because your laugh was so loud it probably rang out all the way to Port Ormos. Zandik scoffed and bit his lip to prevent a smile.
Soon enough, you both reached a secluded part of the city, away from all the hustle and bustle and caught your breath. You slid down a wall in relief and closed your eyes while Zandik had his eyes trained on you for what you just put him through.
“Do you have anything to say for yourself?” he raised an eyebrow at your crazy behavior. You peeked at him and put your hand on your chin, in a thinking position.
“Hmm… well, that was quite fun, was it not?!” you tried to keep a straight face but you could not help but laugh at your friend’s incredulous expression.
“You- we, we are going to get in trouble with the dean you know. And the counselors,” he said, trying to bite down the smile that kept rising when he remembered the expression on the assaulted student’s face.
“We’ll be fineeeee,” you shrugged your shoulders and stretched your letters. “Haven’t you gotten into more trouble with the head administration with your little controversial experiments? Besides, if we’re lucky, he’ll be too scared to report the incident,” you laughed, completely nonchalant about what you just did.
“Hmph. The blame is on you if anything happens,” he attempted to speak in an irritated voice, but he could not help but be amused. A bit elated, even. There were many people he wanted to see get chucked with a textbook. And do worse things too.
But a bit of the thrill came from how you did that with no hesitation. It was a… strange feeling to have someone do that for him. Actually, this whole relationship was strange. You were strange. Even he felt strange. He was honestly a straight-up asshole to you sometimes, like he was to everyone else. But that didn’t drive you off. You still did things for him. You still spoke to him. You didn’t want anything in return, not money, not knowledge, not relics, but perhaps what you did want was-
Zandik stopped that line of thoughts in its tracks, trying to ignore how his hand was all tingly from you holding it. Things were fine this way, he declared. He could not admit he was enamored with you. Nothing needed to change. He had to maintain his view of you, otherwise…
“You know, I’m surprised I even got you to do that. Did you hit your head too?”
“Shut up.”
Zandik hated you.
(You two did get into trouble. The Akademiya assigned you an apology essay which Zandik refused to do so you had to write two separate essays for each of you. With some begging, he did your homework for you in return, and somehow managed to get the blood stain off of that textbook you had thrown. You didn’t question where he learned that.)
V. kindness
It had been years since that fateful day, the time when you first moved in with Zandik. The Akademiya was a long and arduous grind, but that was to be expected. Your friendship with Zandik was one you cherished more than most things.
To say the two of you were close was an understatement. You still remember the counselor’s expression when you told her how well the two of you were getting along, and that there was no need for you to ever switch roommates. You think she became afraid of you too after that.
Tonight was a relaxed night. Zandik and you were not doing any work, simply laying side by side on his bed. (Even though he always threw fierce words at you, you knew he liked your touch.)
In the beginning, you would never be able to tear him away from that desk, but with time comes new things. You were just happy he was getting more hours of sleep.
The two of you lied in the dark as usual, simply enjoying the cool Sumeru breeze and the muffled noises from the city. You learned to grow content with these simple moments. But tonight you felt like talking.
“Hey, Zandik?”
“Hm?”
“Remember when you met me?” You could feel his head shift to look at you, probably for asking such a dumb question.
“Yes, I do. Too well, actually.”
“What was your first impression of me?” you questioned, realizing you never actually asked him that.
“That you were quite annoying and a thorn in my side.”
Anyone else might have been hurt by these words, but you did not mind. He made it pretty obvious that was how he felt in the beginning anyway, so it was no surprise. “But what about now?”
“You’re fine.” Even in the dark, he could feel your pout and pleading eyes. “And your intelligence and helpfulness deserve to be praised, I suppose.” And then he could feel your smile grow as your face was partially on his shoulder. From then the conversation flowed through many things. That research paper you two were working on, some kind of experiment he wanted to do on you (he swore it was painless), about that one scholar who was always annoying during the lectures.
The more you spoke, the more you realized how much of your life centered around being with Zandik here. You didn’t know if you ever wanted to graduate. To ever be apart from him.
“You know, I’ve been thinking. How long do you think we’ll live here?”
“Hmm, it’s hard to say. The benefits the Akademiya provides are far too good to let go of now. Speaking of that, there’s somewhere I want to visit.”
“Oh, you mean those hidden ruins you think are connected with Khaenri’ah?” How nice it would be if you could just drape your arm over his chest.
“Yes. Though I don’t know if the Akademiya will let me make another trip back to the desert as of right now,” he pondered.
“Are you referring to how you’ve been on the Matra’s watch list for years? So they started following you everywhere?” you giggled.
“Not just me. You too, [Name],” he rolled his eyes. “At least I never threw a book at someone in public.” You pouted and playfully punched his arm.
“C’mon, that was so long ago! You can stop bringing it up!” you whined. He would never let that go, huh? The conversation died down from there, but it was a comfortable silence, which you loved. After that little banter, your eyes began to droop and you yawned. Zandik glanced at you.
“Tired?” You nodded and blearily rubbed your eyes.
“Sleep, then,” he commanded, and you had no qualms with following that. Soon enough, Zandik was the only one left awake, staring out at the open window. He had found these little resting sessions of yours good for clearing his mind. He closed his eyes too.
Two people, on the same tiny, college-sized bed, arms brushing each other and talking nonchalantly. Totally, two good friends.
Friends. Friends, friends, friends. Long ago, the word left a distasteful feeling in his mouth, and it still did, but not for the reason he originally felt. Now, what he desired was more complicated.
Zandik hated you.
VI. endless
Zandik knew he would be expelled from the Akademiya soon, for the crimes he committed. And yet, instead of preparing for any future plans, he found himself following the directions of a note you left on his workbench. Meet me at our usual spot, 8 PM.
He was a busy man, more so in soon-to-be exile. He didn’t have time for your frivolous games. But for some reason, he found himself heading over to the cliff anyway. It was dark outside, but the stars illuminated your figure, and that was when he noticed the basket next to you as well. You noticed him and sat up eagerly.
“Hey, you made it! I was worried you wouldn’t come, to be honest.”
“...What is this?”
“Eh? A picnic, of course. The weather is real perfect for one.”
He was so astonished that the laugh building in his throat could not come out immediately. Surely you were aware of what he had done? Practically everyone in the Akademiya knew. You couldn’t walk for five minutes without hearing rumors floating around. Or perhaps you were that oblivious?
“Oh really?” His familiar, eerie laugh that you loved finally rang out. “Did a Ruin Guard finally toss you around well enough? Only an idiot wouldn’t know what I’ve-”
“I mean, do killers not like picnics anymore?” You replied so nonchalantly, he was actually a bit shocked.
“You’re… you’re frustrating,” he murmured.
The way you managed to make him so tongue-tied all the time made him itch to put you in your place, to snap back somehow, but he found himself unable to lately. Actually, he struggled to do that for a while now, and he despised how you made him feel like a bumbling fool.
“Heh, perhaps some of your unhingedness rubbed off on me,” you shrugged, patting down the spot next to you. “Look, I made samosas for you again.”
The blanket was soft and comfy, and though he didn’t care much for the flavors of food, he did enjoy your cooking. You continued to polish off your meal before you spoke again.
“So, I hear you’re going to be expelled soon.”
“Correct. Though I care little for this place, it’s a shame to lose a suitable environment for my research.”
“Have you decided where you’re going? I’m sure you’re not planning to stay exiled in the desert for the rest of your life,” you hummed. “Leaving this country, perhaps?”
“That seems to be the most logical action. There is nowhere in this nation that would fund my research.”
“I see. You’re going far away from here.” Zandik nodded in reply, but the more he thought about it, the more irritated he felt. Far away from here meant far away from you.
To think he felt no remorse for murder but he felt a tingle of emotion (sadness? regret? anger?) at no longer being with you. Whatever it was, it left a bitter taste in his mouth. He loathed to admit it, but he enjoyed your company. He enjoyed dragging you out of bed in the morning, and he enjoyed you dragging him to bed at night. He enjoyed your bantering, your inquisitive nature towards his work. He enjoyed being the only person you’d treat like this and having one person to himself. Zandik enjoyed you, thoroughly and fully.
“Well, keep me updated. I already got my bags packed and ready to go.”
“What?” A quirk of yours, he realized, was being able to leave him surprised at the most unpredictable times. Although scholars must plan for every possibility, he found it difficult to prepare for yours.
“I’m coming with you, of course. You’re gonna need your number one assistant with you. Hey, why’d you stop eating? We still need to get through the Padisarah Pudding.”
“You? Accompany me?” All of a sudden, everything made perfect sense. Yes, of course! You were right, he thought, as a fit of laughter overcame him. It was a splendid idea, one that pleased him immensely. Having you with him would be a great asset for his research. No one suited the role better than you. And you, in general, were… nice. You didn’t grate on his nerves like everyone else.
“Ha! Good! Amazing, even! I shall be sure to tell you when we depart from this nation of fools.” You raised your eyebrows at his sudden enthusiasm, but witnessing Zandik’s bursts of inspiration was nothing new to you either.
“Well, glad to see you’re so keen on it,” you chuckled. “But I have a request. Actually, it’s more like something I have to say to you before we embark on this. It’s crucial, really.”
“Oh? Do tell.” He wasn’t rich, but he had the ability to procure a wide variety of items. The Nation of Wisdom was more corrupt than one would think. But he did wonder what you would ever want. You didn’t chase after material goods like the majority of humans.
“To be frank, I like you,” you declared, looking right into his eyes. At that moment, it felt like the world had gone silent. The wind stopped blowing, the animals lied low, the grass no longer rustled. “I like you. I want to be more than just friends with you,” you stated bluntly. You felt that getting straight to the point was the best course of action with Zandik, since many things besides his research and manipulating people tended to go over his head.
“So, what do you say?”
There was no response. You attempted to build your case.
“By the way, did you think I’d go through all this trouble if I didn’t want to be with you? I didn’t dorm with you for no reason, you know.”
“...”
“For such a smart guy, you aren’t very good at this, are you? Well, I can’t be too mad. I’ve been dealing with the denseness for a few years now. You know, I’ve been making the first moves this whole time.”
“...”
The lack of response was beginning to make you nervous. You preferred the maniacal laughter of rejection at this point. “H-hey, I’d like a reply, you know. You don’t need to accept-”
Zandik thought. And he found that the words he spoke next were genuine.
“I find you… agreeable as well.”
You couldn’t help but throw your head back and laugh, shoulders now relaxed. “Why, such an amazing compliment from the high and mighty Zandik has me even more lovestruck!” He wanted to be mad, he really did, but it was at this moment he understood what it meant to be mesmerized by another person. He had found himself mesmerized by ancient machines, ruins, texts, his research. But he truly found you beautiful, your giggles echoing through the night.
“I’m agreeable, yes?” You turned to face him, your body leaning in closer to his. “Am I agreeable enough to do… this?” You tentatively glided your fingers over his hand, gauging to see how far Zandik would let you go. He stiffened at the foreign contact, clearly unused to it, but let you continue.
“What about this?” You slid your hand up and down his arm, keeping your eyes on his face the whole time. He tried not to show any emotions, besides a half-hearted scowl, but you could still see the red tips of his ears. He was so cute.
You scooted closer to him and let your other hand rest on Zandik’s thigh. “I think I’m much more than agreeable in your books,” you teased, cupping his cheek. He scoffed in response but did nothing to refuse your advancement. You leaned in and connected your lips with your lover’s. It felt damn good. Zandik had no idea what he was doing, but it was endearing nonetheless. You kissed him again, and again, and he reciprocated, albeit a little awkwardly. Your heart soared as you pulled away, and placed a few final kisses on his cheeks.
“Now, how did that feel?” You already knew the answer to that, of course. You knew Zandik for a long time, and could tell when he was in a shitty mood, a bad mood, a grumpy one, an excited one, a happy one, and much more. This mood was one you haven’t seen until now, but it sure was a good one. Completely flustered was a great look on him.
“I… I cannot come to a definitive answer as of now. I would say that I need to carry out some more experiments to reach a conclusion.”
“Oh? Then I’m a willing participant for however long as you want,” you smiled, finding comfort in his soft, teal locks.
And that’s when Zandik truly realized. You were more tolerable than the rest. You were bearable enough to want to keep you around forever. Smart enough for him to desire to hear your honeyed voice. Soft enough to want to feel your skin against his. Ah, he would never say it though, as he brushed his lips over yours once again.
Zandik loved you.

warm smile w/ zoro m.list | rules
note. i just want to write with one piece (and i love zoro way too much) so here i am! please don't hesitate to request <3
It had been a pretty long time since you got saved by Luffy and his crew, leaving you on the boat like you had always been here. Everyone was so natural with you, all the time ; you never felt so much at home than when you were here with them.
Luffy asked you to join the crew a few times already, but you knew it was nonsense. You didn’t even know how to fight correctly ; you’d be a burden for the crew of the future King of the Pirates. He didn’t really care, but you did enough not to accept.
Yet, you haven’t left ; and no one wanted you to. You were like a ray of sunshine on this boat, and you could say without being arrogant that you were good with everyone. Nami and Robin were always doing ‘girls nights’ with you, and you knew the ginger loved to have another girl like her on the boat.
You always had this sweet smile dancing on your lips, like nothing could ruin your mood. You were a bit like Luffy on this point, except that you were way less stupid than him. It made a lot of your charm. Sanji was always swooning over you ; but he was with most girls so it didn’t mean as much, you thought.
The real surprise with Zoro. The usual distant man with strangers had finally opened up to you after a few weeks. He was letting you come when he was exercising, or he let you stay the night with him when he did the guard ; sometimes, because you needed to sleep and he didn’t want you to be too tired.
Tonight was one of those nights where you were out there with him, making sure that nothing would disturb the tranquility of the Sunny. He was sitting and you were right next to him. You had this soft smile on your lips, whispering all kinds of stories to him. It was your way to help him and thank him for taking care during the night.
Zoro was simply looking at you, completely silent, like he always was. Until he cuts you mid sentence, his fingers brushing your hair from your face. The touch was strangely gentle ; you never expected those calloused hands to be so sweet if they wanted to. It caught you off guard, obviously, and you fell silent.
Zoro’s voice got out in a low tone, barely above a whisper. “You have a warm smile,” he started, his only eye scanning your face until it rested on your lips for a bit longer. Then, he looked back into your own gaze, a light smile putting the corners of his lips upward. “Makes me want to keep the world from seeing it.”
You swore you felt your heart literally exploding inside your chest at his words. You never felt so much at loss of words before, and you knew he could see it by the chuckle that escaped his throat. “Cat got your tongue?” And you looked away quicker than you ever did before, hiding the blush that rushed to your cheeks ; or at least trying to.
The next few days were a bit awkward after that night. Zoro was acting like nothing happened while you wouldn’t even look him in the eyes anymore. It couldn’t last longer, and you knew it, so you decided to confront him.
You fought with him until he let you stay the night guard with him once again. Everything was like usual, except that you were awfully silent. It felt wrong, even for someone as dense as him. He was about to say something when your voice seemed to be finally back.
“Why did you say that?” You confronted his gaze, and he raised an eyebrow, apparently not understanding what you meant. A sigh left your mouth before you explained yourself. “The other night, what you said about my smile.” But Zoro didn’t react much more, like it was nothing so amazing. He simply shrugged his shoulders, “Because I meant it.”
You frowned slightly at his words ; he wasn’t really helping you right now. What an annoying man. “I don’t get it,” you said and this time, the sigh came from his mouth. “There’s nothing to get, forget it.” But you weren’t going to let him run away so easily. “No, I’m not forgetting anything. explain yourself.”
He mumbled something under his breath, clearly annoyed right now ; but there was something else too, you knew there was. “I didn’t hear you,” you insist, and maybe you shouldn’t have. “I like you! Happy now? IS that what you wanted to hear?” He snapped at you, and you were sure that you could see his ears burning red.
Your eyes widened a little at his words, leaving you silent, which made him sigh once again. “If it was for this, you could have-” You didn’t give him the chance to finish his sentence. Your hands reached for his face, cupping it softly before you suddenly leaned closer, leaving no space between your two bodies.
Your lips crashed against his for only a second, just to make him shut up for a moment. You pulled back to meet his gaze, and it didn’t last long either before he took the decision to capture your lips between his a second time. He had never been really good with words, actions were much easier for him.
After that night, Zoro let you stay all the night you wanted with him, especially if it meant leaving the two of you alone while everyone was sleeping.
thank you!!

Lady’s man
Sanji x gardener!reader
Warnings: fluff with a bit of angst, alcohol consumption, fem reader, good ending
Word count: 2,302 words
Summary: In which Sanji could not stop flirting with everyone in front of you. This is also from my series of reader with earth powers but can be read as a stand alone
☾⋆。𖦹 °✩
You knew what you were getting yourself into when you started to develop feelings for a man such as Sanji, a man that just has to flirt with every woman that crosses his path and comes undone when one looks his way even for just a second
“That’s not the only thing that he is ok?” You defended yourself one girls night with Nami and Robin in your room “He’s very passionate of what he does, he’s so kindhearted and is always looking out for everyone in the crew!” you said while looking down shyly -“Ah y/n I really don’t understand you! You are really romantic, sweet, beautiful and strong you deserve better than that!” Nami exclaimed taking both of your shoulders and shaking you, Robin giggled “Love is a mistery” Nami frowned as you were blushing red “But I must say” Robin spoke again, getting both of your and Namis attention “He’s quite the lady’s man and I don’t think you’re the kind of person that would brush that off easily” she looked at you kindly, Nami nodded.
And today he was really testing your patience.
You had docked at an Island, you always loved looking for markets every time you stopped and Sanji was the one in charge of restocking the fridge so you always walked together around markets, today was no different but Sanji was extra Sanji that evening, literally throwing himself at any woman that walked past you, usually you try to ignore it, you’re the kind of person to always find good in people and you knew that the cook was a good man he just couldn’t help being like he was around women, it was his flaw he’s human after all.
But oh god how it would make your stomach turn.
You sighed as you were once again left speaking to the wall as Sanji spoke flirty honeyed words to, surprise, another pretty girl in one of the stands nearby, you sighed, payed the kind man the ring you had chosen and continued walking. As you passed by the blonde man you saw as he kissed the woman’s hands
That was it, “Sanji!” you spoke loudly so he would turn your way, and he did “I am gonna join Zoro and Usopp at the bar I’m thirsty” he excused himself from the woman and walked closer to you looking a little confused “But you don’t… drink” you sighed “I just have a little headache, I’ll see you back at the Sunny!” You didn’t stick around to hear his answer and walked away.
You sat at the bar defeated, Sanji was right you don’t drink but asked for a piña colada with alcohol just to ease your anger “Are you serious? You can’t come to a bar and ask for a drink like that” Zoro mocked “Give me a break” you sighed while you massaged your temples, the swordsman examined your face, you really looked stressed out but he wasn’t one to ask about feelings and that stuff, he glanced at Usopp who just did an ‘I don’t know’ expression.
“What about you try something a liiittle stronger” Usopp offered his drink to you “Thank you man but I’m good I just want to refresh a little” you smiled softly “Whatever you say but that face doesn’t fool anyone y/n” he was right, you were really expressive especially with your face, sometimes even doing faces when you didn’t notice.
“Did that stupid cook do something to you?” You and Usopp looked at Zoro eyes wide, did he just asked you what you think he asked you?
Ever since you joined you learned that the best way to get along with the swordsman was by being in comfortable silence, you were introverted by nature so you didn’t really mind it and Zoro actually liked having someone on the ship that could be quiet. Sometimes you would go to him whenever you needed help in the fight department, asking for tips but that was really it, you had never conversed about anything outside that area of topics.
You flushed a little, flowers coming out of your hair, but before you could answer a really drunk man fell over Zoro and made him fall completely to the ground and spill his sake all over him, you gasped ‘please don’t be stupid’ you thought to yourself but it was already too late
“HEY! WATCH IT YOU MORON!” Zoro rose from the floor and took the man by his collar “Yeah what the hell was that? Do you know who we are?!” Usopp chimed in “Oh god” you covered your face in dismay
Predictably this interaction ended in a bar fight and you had to drag your stupid friends out of there before you got into a bigger trouble.
“I broke my ribs! And my feet hurt! And my knuckles are bleeding an-“
“Oh god Usopp can you just shut up! I’m literally carrying you what else do you want!” Using your earth powers, you were carrying Usopp in your back while leaves and branches held him in place, Zoro laughed out loud “And you better shut up too you were the one that got us into all of this!, you’re such stupid toddlers, I can’t believe you call yourselves pirates” not another word was said until you arrived to the Sunny
“YOU GUYS ARE FINALLY BACK!” You heard Luffy scream form the deck with a wide smile which quickly faded as he watched how you were dragging Usopp and Zoro’s ‘I got yelled at’ guilty face
As you finally got in the Sunny and left Usopp on the floor for Chopper to check up on, panting since he was quite heavy for you, Sanji rushed your way, worry plastered all over his face- “Flower what happened? Are you ok?” You were really not in the mood for talking specially to Sanji right now, you just grunted and walked away to your room, which made everyone look in absolute shock, you are usually very kind and understanding with everyone on the crew specially Sanji, so this reaction left everyone surprised “So you did something to her uh?” Zoro said nonchalant as always, Sanji looked at the swordsman angrily “What did you say?” Luffy whistled “Well whatever you did you better apologize it most have been really bad, I’ve never seen her angry before”
Sanji stood there surprised and trying to figure out what was he had said or done to you that could have possibly made you upset.
You threw yourself in bed, hands on your face as you groaned, you hated jealousy so much. You felt like it ate you away, and the worse thing? You can’t even complain about it because you were not Sanjis girlfriend.
You heard a knock on your door, you rolled your eyes as you got up “Nami, Robin, I’m really not in the mood right no-“ When you opened the door Sanji was standing there, looking unsure with your shopping bag in one hand “You left this outside” he said softly, you sighed and took it “Thank you Sanji” as you were closing the door, he stoped you with one hand looking trough the open spot with his puppy eyes that would usually melt you, not right now tho “Can I talk to you for a second… sunlight?” Oh god he really got you wrapped around his finger doesn’t he? You stop putting force on the door as you pulled away “Come in” you said almost annoyed.
Sanji entered your room hesitantly, almost like he was in a prohibited area, he took in everything he could in your room, he had never been here before. You had all your walls adorned with paintings of the sun, moon, stars, clouds and plants all over; pretty gems hanged form the ceiling and pictures of you and the crew hanged beside your mirror, he also noticed the dried flowers hanging in one of the walls. You never had on the big light on the room, you had tiny and warm lamps all over the place, so cozy, and then he saw it, Sanji froze when he noticed one of his hand written notes he had put on one of his special meals he did for you and the girls plastered in the door of your dresser, along with a dried rose he had given you when you first joined the crew.
‘Oh My God, he felt lighter and like he was about to pass out- “Sanji?” You called him, he shook his head and looked at you sitting on your bed and he remembered what he was here for, he cleared his throat “I-“ you cut him off “Sit here” you said as you patted the spot beside you. Slowly Sanji obeyed and sat beside you, your sheets looked like a mossy cloud, how fitting.
He was struggling to look at you, he frantically tried to look anywhere but your face, he took a big breath and called you by your name, no pet names, no dear attached, oh he was serious, this made you shiver “I don’t know what could have I possibly done to offend you, but I just want you to know I am really sorry and I would like to fix this” he said while looking at the floor, you shook your head slowly “Sanji look, it was honestly something really stupid and I shouldn’t have allowed it to get to me, you don’t need to worry about me, really”
“No” he turned to you now focusing on your face which surprised you a bit “Your feelings are not something stupid, I want to know what I did so I can fix it” you hesitated on telling him, because in a way it would make your feelings for the man very obvious, you were cornered.
But Sanji could read you like a book and he noticed your antics whenever you got nervous, your breath quickened and you started to play with your necklaces avoiding eye contact, and saw the grass and flowers blossoming from your feet looking for the floor.
He placed a hand on yours and took a heavy breath that you mimicked so you would ground yourself “Listen dear if you don’t want to talk about it then its fine, but I would really hate leaving you here all upset”, you sighed and surrendered.
“I know that you can’t really help flirting with women all the time” you started looking directly at his eyes so he knew you were honest “That’s part of who you are, and I am very understanding but today it really annoyed me because I couldn’t even have a proper conversation with you…” You bended to the side and pulled something out of your shopping bag “I actually got something for you” you handed him a golden ring with a beautiful design of the sun and the moon on it “Because you were to busy flirting you didn’t even payed attention to what I was showing you… I bought it anyways because I really liked it for you… so yeah, stupid right?”
The blonde cook was absolutely dumbfounded, he felt so guilty, not only had he made your time on the island unpleasant, but you were trying to shop for him while he was spinning around with other women? And still got him something? Oh god he wanted to die there and then, you truly were an angel and he didn’t deserved someone like you being nice to him
“I” he examined the ring, it was so… you “Sunlight I am really really sorry” he looked at you teary eyed which surprised you “You’re always treating me with so much sweetness and understanding and greatfullness for me to pay you like this? I am very stupid… And I absolutely adore this ring” he put it on and took your hands in his “I could promise you I’ll never do this again but you know better than that, so next time just yank me by the ear and I’ll stop being such a fool”
You really didn’t expected this response from him, he looked disappointed on himself, guilty teary eyes and shaky breath, you smiled at him, once again being your soft kind self
“Oh Sanji” you embraced him in a honest hug “Don’t worry, like I said before I understand you, you’re human, thank you for setting things yo right with me I really appreciate it, and I’m glad you liked the ring” you heard him sniffle in your ear, you pulled away to look at him “Why are you crying?!” You laughed “Hey don’t laugh at me!” He exclaimed whipping his tears away “Am not!” You laughed again which made all of Sanjis worry’s fade, your laughter was his favorite song, you took the hand were he had placed the ring you gifted him and put it in yours and examined it “It looks really good on you” you said tenderly as you made flowers blossom in his hand, this always made him nervous; the compliment made the man turn bright red, that and how close you were while sitting in your bed, in your room… he was lightheaded again.
You pulled him in yet another hug “Sanji, really it’s ok” and like that he finally realized that what he felt for you, was different, no one had ever treated him whit such tenderness and carefully as you did, like he would break by any sudden move. He returned your hug moving whit such care, like he was scared you’ll fear him and run away like a bunny. The blonde man glanced at the flower and note on the dresser and smiled ear to ear.
You were special and he had to never let you go again.

DCA PROMPTOBER 2024
I might have decided to join last minute (I say after finishing crying my eyes out) cuz I'm very brave and confident (I'm not.) I know it's late for day 1 but pls gimme a break :<
Day 1 - Best Friend!
Pairing: Sun & Gender Neutral Reader, can be seen as both platonic and romantic! Warnings: None Words: 1900+ Summary: It's a special day, and you're in for a treat!
Like many other days, you couldn’t understand Sun’s enthusiasm. The daycare attendant had scooped you up the moment you stepped foot in the daycare with your cleaning cart—as you always did every night before closing—then hugged you so tightly you feared for your ribs. As usual, he began to ask you questions about your day, asking if you had eaten anything new or if you had any new pics of your pet to show him, but he completely threw you off guard when he proceeded to beg you to put on a blindfold and follow him out of the daycare, which you refused with a decisive shake of the head.
-Nuh-uh,- you replied.
-What do you mean “nuh-uh”?!- Sun crumbled to the floor, on his knees, with his hands joined together in prayer and his big, milky eyes staring at you in despair.
-I mean nuh-uh! I’m not coming with you, not yet at least.- You waved your cleaning rug in front of his face, pretending to wash dirt off his flat head. -I have a job to do! Remember?-
Your “job” consisted of slipping inside the pizzaplex after everyone had left, cleaning off all the gunk children and adults alike left on tables and inside the attractions, then slipping back out before closing time. Very simple, very stressful and equally tiring. You were one of many, your assigned areas were the Daycare and Monty Golf, but the former always took you more time to clean despite having less work to do. The reason behind that? The animatronic before you. You had befriended the daycare attendant, a few weeks before, mainly because you pitied him. Always so lonely, left with nothing to do, with no children to care for and no friends to play with. You didn’t regret becoming his friend, not at all, but it was true that you always spent much more time with the robot than you should have. “Do not talk with the animatronics” was kinda company policy.
Okay, fine, maybe it wasn’t, but your employment contract did say to not stand too close to the robots and interact with them as little as possible, so you were breaking the rules just the tiniest bit, by letting Sun pick you up, hug you, spin you around and etcetera.
Letting yourself be blindfolded and dragged around was way too much though.
-Friend, please! All you actually have to clean is the security desk!- Sun protested, pouting like a child. He was right. The sunny jester was a bit of a cleaning freak, so he always did all the work for you by scrubbing and tidying the entire play area by the time it took you to finish with Monty Golf, leaving you to clean just the area he didn’t have access to.
You crossed your arms over your chest, indecisive. You didn’t want to be blindfolded, at all, and not because you didn’t trust Sun, the idea of it simply made your skin itch.
…Shit, but he looked so sad! Oh, curse you and your kind heart! With a sigh, you relented, finally giving the jester a small nod.
-Okay, I’ll come with you,- you agreed, and Sun literally jumped in the air, as bright as his namesake.
-Yes!- he shouted, ecstatic.
-But,- you were quick to interrupt him, -You let me clean the desk first. Deal?-
You offered Sun one of your hands, which he shook with so much passion your entire body trembled. All the while, a wide grin had opened on his flat, yellow face.
-I can’t wait to show you my surprise!- he smiled.
You did the best you could to clean efficiently the security desk of the daycare, cleaning coffee stains, peeling away dried pieces of Chica’s Special & Super Elastic Bubble Gum from under the desk and chairs, throwing away pieces of papers and emptying bins, but to your big surprise you found yourself hurrying to get it done. Were you doing that because you were actually kind of curious of what Sun’s surprise could be, or because you wanted to go home as soon as possible? Maybe both, maybe neither. Who could say? Anyway, you finished with your job faster than usual, satisfied, but the moment you turned around all the color drained from your face.
Sun had twisted himself in some kind of pretzel-like knot, tangling his limbs and lanky body together to create something which reminded you of a horrifying piece of modern art, but as soon as he noticed you looking at him Sun untwisted himself, returning to his usual height and shape.
-All done, Friend?- he asked, excitedly, as you struggled to get your heart to start beating again. It wasn’t the first time Sun had done something like that, the animatronic liked to get into weird positions when he felt bored, but each time you caught him like that your heart froze. Sun was a very, very, pricey robot and you were constantly scared of management putting you at fault if something were to ever happen to him. Also, you were his friend, and you couldn’t let something bad happen to someone who was so precious—did I mention pricey?—to you.
-Uh, yes, all done,- you nodded, shaking your head to get rid of the bad thoughts, -We can proceed with the… Do you really have to blindfold me?-
At your question Sun nodded eagerly, stepping close as he took a red ribbon out of his pocket. You sighed but didn’t fight him as he began to place the ribbon over your eyes, making sure it was not too tight but tied firmly enough to not allow you to peek. Once he was done, you heard Sun giggle in delight, looking at his magnificent job.
-Wait,- you heard him say, -Something is missing!-
Before you could protest you heard the animatronic scurry off, leaving you in the dark with no reference points, confused and a little scared. You attempted to take a step forward but were quickly stopped by Sun immediately coming back.
-Here!- he announced, grabbing one of your hands and turning your palm up, so you could hold something that resembled a box for him. You gently shook it and heard many small, plastic things moving inside of it.
-Are those…?- you began to ask, even more perplexed than before.
-Yep!- Sun replied, carefully attaching something to your blindfold, one over each of your eyes. -Googly eyes!-
You wanted to collapse on the floor and stay there, becoming one with the colorful mats of the daycare, but instead you groaned and stood still, allowing the robot to have his fun.
-Can we just go? I don’t have all day, Sun,- you protested, and finally the jester put the little box away, grabbed one of your hands and began to lead you to the large wooden doors of the daycare, walking slowly and carefully.
-We’re gonna have so much fun, Friend,- Sun said, gleefully. You could almost see his beaming smile, ever the bright, despite the blindfold over your eyes. -I’ve made sure everything is simply perfect!-
Despite how tired you were of Sun’s constant cheerfulness, you couldn’t say he didn’t have any effect on you. In fact, you had been smiling a lot more during the last few days. even your coworkers had noticed your good mood. Just staying with Sun was enough to make you smile and laugh, his presence was good for your mental and physical health. In fact, the robot had been taking care of you whenever he noticed that you hadn’t eaten yet, and for some reason he always knew. You were beginning to think he could read your biometrics data.
You didn’t walk for too much time, in fact you could almost guess where you were headed, which was probably one of the party rooms around the daycare. You decided to stay silent, just to see what Sun would do, and giggled when you felt the hand you were holding begin to vibrate in excitement. Having a robot for a friend was truly fun, sometimes.
-Almost there, Friend!- Sun told you as he began to open one of the doors to the rooms, careful to turn on the lights before entering—why did he always do that, anyway? Sun always refused to tell you where his fear of the dark came from, but seeing how uncomfortable the topic made him you had long stopped asking him about it. -Here, sit.-
He guided you to a chair, where you gratefully sat, still obediently keeping your googly eyes-adorned blindfold on. You were eager to see the surprise Sun had planned for you, but something told you not to even try to peek. You felt like it would have made the robot rather mad.
Sun moved something on the table in front of you, mumbling by himself, then stood back. You heard his steps coming to a stop behind your chair, then felt his hands resting on your shoulders. The cold touch of his metal body made you shiver.
-You can look now, Friend,- Sun whispered in your ear, lacking the previous joy and sounding more… sly?
Excited to see, you quickly took off the blindfold and blinked, trying to readjust to the lights inside the room, and only after a few moments of total confusion you managed to see something. Before you, on the table, was a plate, and on the plate was a huge cupcake of your favorite flavor. You would have recognized those sweet treats everywhere, they were from the Cupcake Shoppe, on the second floor of the pizzaplex. Many times you had passed the area, looking with envy at the baked sweets being sold there, and even more times you had complained to Sun about the bakery not being on the list of places where you could eat your daily free meal, as per your employment contract. When he had asked you why you didn’t just go and buy one, if you really wanted to, you had laughed.
“-Come on, as good as they look, they are not worth the price.-” You had told him. Yet there it was, the motherfucking cupcake you had been ogling at for the last weeks, right in front of you, with a little candle stuck on top.
-I would have lit the candle, if my programming didn’t forbid me from handling matches and lighters,- laughed Sun from behind you. Honestly, you didn’t care one bit about the candle, you were just staring at the sweet treat in front of you, dumbfounded.
-Wh… Why…? How… I…- You couldn’t speak normally anymore, your vocabulary consisted of single muttered words and syllables.
-Guess what day it is, Friend,- cooed Sun in your ear. You tried to think, but doing so was hard, so you ended up just shaking your head, speechless. At your cluelessness, Sun laughed.
-On this day, exactly one month ago, we became friends!- he explained to you, and as he bent over his smiling face entered your field of vision. He looked absolutely gleeful. -Do you remember now?-
Your wide eyes ran from his milky ones to the cupcake in front of you, from the big grin of the robot to the unlit candle, which was slowly slipping down thanks to the melting frosting. One month. You had been friends with Sun for just a month, but for some reason it felt like so much more, like, much, much more. Sun’s hands, which had been resting on your shoulders the entire time, squeezed you gently, and they felt oddly warm against your skin. You looked at the daycare attendant and couldn’t stop a smile from forming on your lips.
-Happy one month anniversary, Best friend,- he said, and you nodded.
-Happy anniversary to you too, Sun.-

“I don’t know how I feel about this, girl,” you sigh into the phone, staring down at your cocktail. “You didn’t even tell me what they do! What if they’re serial killers or something?”
You feel a nervous sweat coming on despite the cool air in the fancy restaurant and the spaghetti straps of your dress allowing you to stay cool. You took a shower and added as much deodorant to your pits and jiggly inner thighs as you could because of your paranoia of smelling, but that does nothing to stop you from breaking out in anxious perspiration.
“Would you stop that?” Your friend complains. “I didn’t tell you about their jobs because I wanted to surprise you! If Bakugou and Kiri know them, trust me: they’re good guys.”
You sigh, pinching the bridge of your nose to avoid an oncoming headache from too much stress. Though the fact that these “guys” are Bakugou aka pro hero Dynamight and Kirishima aka pro hero Red Riot’s longtime buddies, that doesn’t do much to ease your worries or mind.
”Then they must be fine as fuck ‘cause your boyfriends are!” You groan, earning a giggle from your friend. “It’s not funny! I’m literally having a panic attack and I don’t think this cocktail is helping.”
You stare down at your Perfect Peach cocktail made with vodka and peach preserves that is supposed to ease your nerves as you sit at the bar waiting for your blind date…or blind dates, rather.
After further consideration and fantasizing about it for months, you confided in your friend about wanting to try a polyamorous relationship like she has with Bakugou and Kiri. She always seems so happy when she’s with them. You remember a time when you were happy like that with your boyfriend—everyday seemed sunny whenever he called or came to see you.
But that was a year ago. After a very messy breakup which resulted in him moving away and immediately dating someone else, you did your best to forget him and move on. Getting back into the dating pool was the first step. You recently just started reviving your accounts on dating apps, but so far, none of them have sufficed.
You often wonder how your friend did it—how she managed to bag not one but two pro heroes. And they’re so hot and sweet! Every time you see their big arms wrapped around your friend or see their smiles directed her way or see them pick her up from your crib and know she’s going to spend her night getting pleasured beyond belief by both of them, you can’t help but be jealous.
Don’t get it twisted. You’re so happy for your friend! She deserves partners who adore her…but you’d be lying if you said that it didn’t bother you that you don’t have that kind of relationship for yourself.
Your friend’s calming voice pulls you out of your self-deprecating thoughts. ”Just calm down. It’s going to go great! But if it ever goes sideways or if you really feel like you can’t go through with this, just make some excuse, like I almost burned our crib down. Then you can leave!”
”I’m not doing that,” you huff. “Your men went through all the trouble of booking this blind date for me. The least I can do is try to get through it.”
Bakugou and Kiri specifically handpicked your blind dates for you tonight. They barely told you anything about them though. The only thing you know is that they’re friends. “You’ll love ‘em, doll!” Kiri told you. “I promise! These guys are super manly!”
“They’re whatever,” Bakugou said, which didn’t help you at all. But then again, Bakugou was never good at giving compliments…unless those compliments are directed at your friend.
“Well, to do that, you’ll have to get out of that head of yours,” your friend critically says. “Girl, you’re always overthinking! You like hot as fuck tonight and your dates will think so to. Just think about how they may even take you home tonight to get a piece of that nice, fat a—“
”And I’m hanging up,” you immediately announce, cringing at her hysterical laughter. “I just met the guys and it’s our first date! I’m not gonna—“
”Excuse me?” A rather familiar voice you can’t place politely asks you. You turn around, preparing to give this man the boot, but all of the words in your throat die when you get a look at who’s standing behind you.
He is much taller and hotter in person, your embarrassingly large poster in your bedroom not doing you much justice. His gray vest, slacks, and white button-up shirt are rather tight on his toned body, his pecs and biceps pushing up against the fabric. The cutest freckles adorn his cheeks, almost popping out like a pop-up photo in a children’s book due to how green his hair and eyes are. They remind you of emeralds.
Izumi Midoriya aka Deku, pro hero #1, in the flesh, is your date tonight. He gives you a kind, toothy smile, his hands behind his back. ”Are you Y/N?” He asks.
Your mind is frozen in a block of ice, all thoughts and words put on pause. Too stunned to speak, you just nod. “Oh, good!” He sighs, relieved. “I thought I’d gotten the wrong person and embarrassed the hell out of myself!” He sheepishly laughs before passing you a bouquet of the most beautiful pink and yellow roses out from behind him. “For you,” he says, a light blush coating his cheeks. “Shoto picked ‘em. He’ll be in here soon.”
Shoto. As in Shoto Todoroki pro hero #3. Bakugou is at #2 while Kiri is #4. If all goes well, you and your friend will be living the life dating such popular pro heroes.
Wordlessly, you take the flowers, but not wanting to look like a crazy woman, you give Deku a smile. You just can’t believe this. You feel like you’re dreaming. “Y/N?” Your friend asks. “Helloooo? You there?”
Brought back down to reality, you keep your eyes on Deku while you speak into your phone that you remember is pressed to your ear. “I’ve gotta go,” you abruptly say. “M-My dates are here.” Your friend just giggles. “Enjoy,” she sings. “Give me all the details when you get back.”
Once she hangs up, the door to the restaurant opens. In walks your second date and Shoto is just as tall as Deku. He walks elegantly on long legs, his frame leaner than Deku’s, but muscled and toned. His black suit fits perfectly on him, giving him a dashing look that his long, red-and-white-toned hair tied in a ponytail only adds to. He looks like a damn fairytale prince coming to save you.
His eyes meet yours and you swear he’s just as gorgeous in person. The burn scar over his eye only adds to his appearance, giving him a very sexy but unique look. He smiles at you and the air is immediately stolen from your plump, soft body.
“You found her?” He asks, coming over to the bar to meet you. “I’m sorry, I was busy trying to find a parking spot. This restaurant is quite popular.” Deku nods, laughing. “That’s what it said on the website!” He chuckles.
“Y/N, right?” Shoto asks, his silky voice directed at you. “Pleasure to finally meet you. Your friend told us all about you, but she left out how beautiful you are.” He sticks his hand out for a shake, his ringed fingers making you think of nasty things. You wouldn’t mind them wrapping around your neck or sliding inside of your—
”T-Thank you,” you say, finally finding your voice. You tentatively shake Shoto’s hand, shivering slightly at the wave of electricity you feel coursing through you at his touch. “I know who you are. Y-You’re Deku and Todoroki, pro heroes #1 and #3.”
The duo share a look, both stunned. A mischievous smile stretches across Shoto’s face. “Someone’s a fan,” he teases.
Deku rolls his eyes, criticizing his boyfriend. “Don’t tease her, Shoto,” he critically says before turning to you. “That, we are! I hope that doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable. We’re really just normal people…who happen to have quirks.” He looks worried that the fact that they’re famous may make you feel weird, but that isn’t even half of it. How the fuck are you supposed to act normal around such hot men?!
Swallowing harshly and taking a much-needed sip of your cocktail, you start to feel somewhat confident from the vodka. “Well, it’s nice to meet you both,” you giggle. “Should we sit?”
Deku offers his hand to help you slide off of the barstool with your drink and flowers. You feel his hand lightly ghost the small of your back and your skin suddenly bursts with warmth like it’s on fire. Your dress only somewhat smooths your back rolls which most men aren’t too fond of. But Deku doesn’t seem to mind.
He leads you over to a table near a window overlooking the sidewalk and decorated with two candles. Shoto takes the chair you’re about to pull out and does it for you. “Please, allow me.” He patiently waits for you to sit down before pushing you in and then taking his seat with Deku across from you.
Such a gentleman. You love gentlemen. They make your heart pound and your inner thighs clench together to avoid the throbbing sensation you feel already coming.
The two handsome pros sit across from you, their attractive features illuminated by the candlelight. Luckily, your waitress comes over to get your appetizer orders and fetch the pros drinks before wandering off to put in your orders.
Shoto clears his throat and is the first to fill the silence. “Sooo, Y/N,” he begins, your name sounding like smooth butter on his lips, “how in the world are you single as pretty as you are?” Heat coats your face at his boldness. You’re not used to receiving such compliments.
“Shoto!” Deku growls, elbowing Shoto in the arm. “We’ve only known her for, like, five minutes!” Shoto side-eyes his boyfriend. “So you don’t think she’s pretty?” He deadpans, smirking at the bright red blush that coats Deku’s freckled cheeks.
“You’ve got game,” you giggle, earning a proud smile from Shoto. “Well, I recently decided to start dating again after a breakup a year ago. I missed nights like these, getting dressed up and going out with handsome men.”
You watch surprise alight in the couple’s eyes that quickly melt into something more intimate and passionate. Because now they know that you’re just as attracted to them as they are to you…so far. The shift makes you feel hot all over and you cross your legs. This is going to be much harder than you thought.
You shift slightly in your seat, clearing your throat. “S-So what about you two?” You softly stutter. How long have you two been together? How come you’re looking for a third?”
The two share a look and then a smile that grinds at your insides. You remember smiling that way at your person–so in love and content. ”Well, after five years of dating, we decided to venture into new experiences,” Deku answers. “We’ve both been interested in having a poly relationship for a while now, so we decided to give it a try.”
He tells you that he and Shoto met in UA High and were friends at first before slowly becoming more. It’s a story fit for a friends-to-lovers book. Concern laces Shoto’s pretty, multicolored eyes. “And this is still okay with you? Seeing two men at the same time?”
You want to correct him that they aren’t just any men. They’re pro heroes. Celebrities. They have status and notoriety. You would be hella stupid to say no to this. “Yeah,” you reply. “I’ve never dated two guys at the same time, but it never hurts to try something new.”
Other than their perks as celebs, their easy-going personalities and warm nature make it especially hard to refuse them, so you feel comfortable saying yes.
Shoto smiles, pleased with that answer, and raises his glass of red wine. “Cheers to new experiences then.” Deku raises his wine glass while you raise your cocktail before leaning to clink glasses and taking a sip in unison. You feel much better already.
Deku suddenly gasps, his emerald eyes twinkling in excitement. “You have an All Might keychain too?” He gasps, staring down at your phone. “That’s so cute! I still carry mine around as a lucky charm.” Shoto rolls his eyes at his boyfriend, chuckling into his wine. “He can sit here all night talkin’ ‘bout All Might. Just warning you.”
You giggle and tell Deku that you bought it at Hot Topic when the store was celebrating All Might’s birthday. A text from your friend asking if you’re okay suddenly pops up on your phone sitting face up on the table. You turn it over to be respectful to your dates but realize too late the phone case underneath.
There, the chibi versions of Deku, Shoto, and All Might stare back at you. It was a gift from Kiri for your birthday, but now, you want to curse him for giving it to you and yourself for forgetting that it was on the back of your phone.
Your dates catch it immediately and mirth alights behind their eyes. Shoto smirks at you, stifling his laughter. “You weren’t quick enough for that,” he chuckles. You flush with embarrassment and unbeknownst to you, Shoto adores it. Your skin glows increasingly more in the candlelight, making him want to kiss, suck, and lick every part of your beautiful skin.
Deku is in the same boat as his boyfriend. He’s been admiring your beauty all night, but unlike Shoto, he isn’t as bold or as brazen, so he instead shifts the conversation to something else to distract him from how tight his slacks have gotten.
“So you are a fan?” He excitedly gasps. “Wow! I can’t say I’ve ever been on a date with a fan of mine before.” Shoto’s lazily shift to yours, peering deep into you. “Me either.”
You gnaw on your bottom lip, suddenly ashamed. “I-I’m sorry,” you stammer. “I’ll put it away if it makes you feel weird.” You go to put your phone in your purse, but Shoto’s hand stops you. You pause, your pulse jumping as you feel his long piano fingers brush your knuckles.
“No, no, don’t,” he protests. “It’s cute. I just wonder out of the two of us which one’s your favorite.” He winks at you with that sapphire blue eye, teasing you. ”Todoroki, come on,” Deku sighs. ”Don’t embarrass her.”
Maybe it’s the cocktail or the romantic atmosphere or gaining the undivided attention of the two sexy pros sitting across from you, but something inside of you flares up, filling you with confidence. “It’s actually both of you,” you shyly confess.
The two look at you, stunned. “I’ll admit, I was more of a Dynamight fan until I saw you two with those kids at that charity event for the children’s hospital. I love men who are good with kids.” You flash them a bashful yet endearing smile that makes them throb and ache down below.
“Ah, I remember that event,” Deku says, reminiscing. “That was a year ago for Christmas.” He suddenly leans in, a secretive smile on his face. “Don’t tell him this, but you definitely wouldn’t be a fan of Dynamight after learning he’s horrible with children.”
He and Shoto proceed to tell you about when he was forced to dress as an elf for the charity event and he fussed at every kid who instead told him what they wanted for Christmas and tugged on his fake elf ears. “We had to stop him from blowing up the Christmas tree,” Shoto says, watching with adoration as you laugh into your appetizer.
The waitress finally returns to take your main course orders and refills your water. When she leaves, Deku and Shoto once again give you their attention. “So tell us more about you, Y/N,” Deku says, and your heart somersaults at hearing your name on his lips.
Despite their laser beam-like gazes in the candlelight and the vodka making you feel slightly unbalanced, you do as they say.
You talk about anything and everything, starting with your job. You tell them what you studied in school and what you do now for work. Shoto looks impressed while Deku damn near chokes on his appetizer when you tell him ”An assistant at NASA?” He gasps. “That’s amazing! So if we ever fight an alien from a distant planet or something, can we call on you to fix us up with a rocket?”
It’s a bad joke and you laugh, finding his boyish nature oh-so cute. Shoto rolls his eyes, popping an oyster into his mouth. “Again with the alien talk,” he huffs. You look away to your cocktail, stifling a smile. “You too?” Shoto asks while Deku laughs. “You really believe in those little green men?”
You smirk at him, pointing at him with your fork. “This is coming from a guy who shoots ice and fire from his hands,” you retort. Shoto is shocked (and turned on) by your wittiness, as is Deku. They like a girl who is playful like that. “Touché,” he replies.
Once your dinner finally arrives at the table, the convo shifts to food and drinks. Deku is fond of spicy miso ramen and mocktails while Shoto prefers black coffee and soba. You tell them your favorites and non-favorites, resulting in somewhat talking about bubble tea and how you’ve never tried it before.
Deku looks like you just admitted to murder, pausing mid-bite with his grilled halibut. ”You’ve never tried bubble tea before?” He gasps. “Oh, you’re missing out. It’s literally one of the best creations in the world!”
Shoto shakes his head, biting into his plank steak. “He’s exaggerating, but it is quite good.” You take a sip of your cocktail, feeling the effects of the vodka taking over. Everything is bubbly and warm, and a rush of newfound confidence courses your veins.
“Guess you two will have to teach me then.” You don’t mean for it to sound so suggestive, but then again, you don’t care either. Because the two men are immediately caught on your hook, their gazes intense and warm.
The flirting doesn’t stop there. Throughout dinner, they are more than happy to show you that they are very romantically interested in their beautiful date—you. Deku is more lowkey and bashful, complimenting the shade of your dress and your earrings, while Shoto flat-out tells you how attractive he thinks you are.
It takes its toll on you—all of this undivided attention—and you find yourself sweating from it. You’re not used to such genuine flirting and compliments. You don’t know if going home with them is on the table, but if they ask, you won’t say no. That you know much.
You know deep down that sex on the first date isn’t exactly socially acceptable or appropriate in some cases, but you can’t bring yourself to care about that. However, there is a part of you that is saying “no, don’t”. The voice of reason. The romantic part of you that wants to get to know the two pros and see where things take you.
Other than flirting, you talk about other things: favorite heroes, their time at UA, favorite missions, vacation spots, etc. They also talk about Warner Bros apparently wanting to make a movie about Deku. “I heard they’re thinking about casting Tom Holland,” he sighs. “He looks nothing like me! But he is a good Spider-Man and is apparently Hollywood’s heartthrob.”
You giggle, chomping down on your shrimp salad. “He’s cute or whatever, but I prefer my men much bigger and taller, like Jason Momoa.” You practically salivate at the mental image of him.
Shoto and Deku share a look, smirking at each other. “Is he your type of man?” Shoto asks, a playful glint in his eye.
The two look at you, quietly eager to know your answer. Your smile fades when you realize you just walked into a trap. But there’s no turning back now…might as well go all in. “Kinda,” you answer, unaware of how airy your voice sounds. “But I do like my men with long hair and pretty eyes.”
Your eyes trail over Deku’s ever-green eyes that you could stare into forever and Shoto’s long hair you want to trail your fingers through. You want to make it known that you like them. You want them to see the fantasies running wild in your head of you together in bed, in the dark, both of them pressed against you, kissing and touching, all passion and energy transferring from one body to the other.
Suddenly, you feel shy again and wither slightly. “Sorry,” you giggle. “It’s the vodka talking.” Shoto fixes you with a look that damn near peels you out of your dress. “Let it talk,” he softly demands. “We really like talking to you, Y/N.”
Deku nods, a slight blush coating his cheeks. “You know, we couldn’t believe we were on a date with someone as gorgeous as you?” He sheepishly asks. “Not that Kaachan and Kiri would fix us up with someone we weren’t attracted to, but seeing you for the first time…” He pauses, blowing air out of his cheeks as if he’s winded. “It was a trip.”
You flush from his words and genuine tone, knowing that he’s serious. They really think you’re that beautiful? “So would you say I’m your type of girl?” You boldly ask, running your hands lightly over your pudgy sides and down your jiggly thighs under the table.
In Shoto’s eyes, you see nothing but a passion so bold and open that it makes you melt. “I don’t think that even needs to be questioned, doll. You have a beautiful personality. Your looks just add to our attraction for you.” The pet name rolling off of his lips has you ready to get the check and go home with them.
“Don’t mind his bluntness, but he’s right,” Deku adds. “Anyone would be stupid to have fumbled someone like you.” You see the same genuine passion and enthusiasm in his eyes too. There isn’t a stitch or slip of the truth in their faces. They are dead serious.
You sit up a little straighter, tightening your hands clasped together in your lap. “Thank you,” you shyly say. “And for the record, any girl would be lucky to have two partners like you two on her arm.”
They look as if they want you to be that “girl” whose arms they are on.
The rest of the dinner goes by in a flash. Time really does fly when you’re having fun. You finish your food and they demand you put your credit card away, instead paying for your meal. They then walk you outside and sit on a bench near the restaurant window as you order your Lyft.
They did offer to drive you home, but you politely declined. Despite your immense attraction to them, they are still strangers…at least right now, they are, but you hope that changes soon.
While Shoto takes your right, Deku sits down on your left, putting you smack dab in the middle. “We’ll wait here till your Lyft comes. We don’t mind at all! It means more time with you.” You bashfully smile under the moonlight and stars in the clear night sky. The cocktail is starting to fade a bit, so you feel rationality start to sink in.
A comfortable silence descends upon you three, only filled by the idle chatter of passersby and cars. When you check your phone, your driver is announced to be arriving in five minutes. “I really enjoyed tonight,” you say before clearing your throat. “I think this is one of the best dates I’ve had in a long time.”
Deku smiles, looking overjoyed to hear this. “We’re happy to hear that. We had a great time with you too.” His fingers, placed on the bench, slightly brush yours. Electricity explodes in your veins at his soft touch.
Shoto hums in agreement, nodding. ”Hopefully, you’d be up for some more great times with us.” You blink at him, realizing what he means. He wants another date. Deku does too judging from the way his fingers inch closer to yours.
Taking things one step further, you move your hand closer to his until your hand is on top of his. You hear him physically exhale as if his self-control is jumping out the window.
“Well, yes,” you answer Shoto, “but you’d need my number for that.” Your tone is soft and flirty, your lashes framing your eyes as you stare up into Shoto’s handsome face.
Catching on, he playfully smirks down at you. “Then I guess we have a dilemma,” he says, his voice silky and smooth. “So how do we solve that?” You button your lip, mostly because you’re afraid of saying something stupid and ruining the magic of this moment.
“I guess we’ll just have to compromise, won’t we, Midoriya?” He sighs, acting defeated. Deku catches on to the game and plays the role too, stroking your knuckles with his thumb. “I guess so. After all, we still need to get you to try mochi.”
You’ve never smiled so wide in your life. By the time the two finish putting their contacts in your phone, your cheeks hurt from smiling so much. Your heart is thundering and you feel like you can fly, high on the fact that these two heartthrobs want you.
Your Lyft finally arrives in a white SVU and rolls up to the curb. “There’s my ride,” you breathlessly announce, standing with the two. The window rolls down to show your female driver. “Y/N?” The driver calls. You nod, waving at her.
Deku and Shoto walk over with you to the car, protective and chivalrous. “Here, I’ll get the door for you,” Deku says, opening the back door for you. You thank him, but before you can slip into the seat, you suddenly feel his and Shoto’s pairs of soft lips on either side of your face. Your brain short circuits and the entire world disappears.
“It was nice meeting you, Y/N,” Shoto whispers into your ear.
“We hope to see you again,” Deku adds, his voice just as soft and intoxicating.
’You will,’ you think. You want to see them again more than anything. Already, you’re grieving the loss of such a perfect night, desperate for the chance to have one again with them.
They then step back and allow you to crawl in, no doubt staring at your ass as you do. But then you stop and look back at them, willing to show some of your cards to end the night. “You know, for the record,” you begin, “you two are my type of men. And I’d really like to see you again too.”
Suddenly, the air between you shifts. You can feel it in the way Deku and Shoto stare at you like they want so much to get in the car and go home with you.
But they don’t. Instead, they leave you with something that will suffice you for days to come. Shoto leans in first, his hand on the top of the car as he peers into the backseat and presses his lips to yours in a soft, gentle kiss. It’s enough to send those butterflies flapping haphazardly in your stomach as his thumb softly caresses your cheek.
But as soon as it happens, it’s over. Then it’s Deku’s turn. He also leans down to kiss you, the taste of wine and mint gum heavy on his tongue as it lightly touches yours. You stamp back a moan, your toes curling in your shoes at the soft, intoxicating kiss.
Their kisses are the best ones you’ve ever had.
Finally, Deku pulls away and peers at you, his eyes holding a promise of what’s to come next if you venture down this road with them. “We’d like that,” he pants. “Call us when you get home, okay?”
Closing your parted mouth to avoid looking insane, you nod and try to recover. “Y-Yeah,” you stammer. “I will.” Deku smiles as Shoto reaches in to kiss your hand. “Goodnight, Y/N.”
You say goodnight and Deku closes the door, allowing the driver to finally drive off in the direction of your home. You watch the two standing on the curb watching you go, your heart still hammering away and your skin alive with flames. You lightly touch your lips, still feeling theirs on them.
The first thing you do is put in your AirPods and call your friend, a stupid smile stretching across your face. She picks up on the second ring. “You’re alive!” She giddily says. “So what happened? Did you guys kiss? I got your Lyft notification, so I’m guessing you didn’t go home with them.”
“No,” you sigh, rolling your eyes. “And yes, we did kiss. And I got their numbers.”
Your friend nearly blows out both of your eardrums as she squeals into your ears. “Ooooh, the boys are gonna be so happy!” She squeals. “So tell me everything! How was the date?”
With your smile growing wider, you add your two contacts to a group chat to thank them for the date tonight with emojis that you added to their names yourself:
Deku 🥦💚, Shoto ❄️🔥❤️
Thank you for tonight!
“It was everything,” you dreamily sigh.
THE END.

Love
A/N: N/A
Summary: Suguru loves you and Satoru more than anything. Easy mornings like this allow him to show it.
TW: N/A
W/C: 1,128
Suguru was a lover down to his core. And he showed it in more ways than one. He loved the way black coffee from his favorite cafe, you know the one right on 45th street, tasted on his tongue on a cold winter morning. He loved to hear kids giggling at the park when he was on his way home from work. He even felt love deep in his heart when his favorite fruit was on sale at the grocery store. He tried to show his care in everything he did. Kindness, the strongest virtue, he believed. His mom even called him “lover boy” when he was a child, but you’d have to pry that knowledge from his hands.
But above all else, Suguru loved his partners. He would do anything for the two of you, even shift the sun and moon if you asked him to. Satoru, his wry boyfriend with fluffy white hair. It reminded him of clouds that lay in the sky on a sunny day. Peaceful, and beautiful. Except, Satoru was the furthest thing from peaceful.
And then there was you. You only had to look at Suguru once with your soft eyes for him to know he was done for. He was hooked, wanting to fulfill your every need on bated breath.
Because Suguru was a man of love it was no surprise at all really that he wanted to have two partners. Why would he pour all his love into one person when he could share it?
One of the ways Suguru enjoyed showing his appreciation was by cooking. He liked it all. Cooking, baking, even grilling.
Although every time he grilled, Satoru bumped in and insisted he wanted to do it. If it weren’t for you distracting Satoru enough for Suguru to flip the meat then things would end up burnt every time. But that’s okay, he didn’t mind, really.
It was slow mornings like this when Suguru was able to express his love. You and Satoru sat across from him on mismatched bar stools while he glided across the kitchen grabbing ingredients.
Morning light flooded in, illuminating your figures and warming your still sleepy skin. His brow quirks up while listening to the two of you bicker.
“Sugu can you make me- HEY! Toru I was eating that!”
“What? No you weren’t.” Satoru responds, casually chewing on a slice of an apple he stole from your lips.
“Yes I was! It was literally halfway in my mouth! Sugu did you see that?”
Suguru can’t help the small smile that graces his lips.
“Oh was it? I didn’t notice.” Satoru speaks around the mouthful of food.
Your bottom lip juts out in a kissable pout, your arms crossing against your chest. You always wore one of the boys shirts from the day before in the mornings, and today, lucky for him, it was Suguru’s.
Suguru tilts his head and looks down while he whisks batter. Satoru insisted on crepes for the day. An array of fillings littered the counter. Butter, chocolate, cinnamon, and whip cream. Most people wouldn’t be able to stomach all of that at 7 am, but then again Satoru wasn’t most people.
And neither were you.
You decide to ignore Satoru’s early morning banter and settle on watching Suguru. You prop your cheek against your palm and watch him work on creating your early meal.
Suguru feels a rush of excitement flow through his veins at your gaze. You had all been together for years, but he never felt any less giddy around you.
“Thank you for working so hard for us. We’re lucky.”
Suguru feels pink begin to dust his cheeks.
“Work hard? I’m only making you guys crepes.” He tries to push off.
“Yeah, but still. We probably wouldn’t eat three times a day if it weren’t for you. Satoru for sure would malnourish and wither away.”
“Hm, that would be a shame.”
Your lip twitches up when the two of you make eye contact.
Love, love, love.
“It would be. Guess that means you can’t go anywhere.”
“I suppose so, doesn’t it?” He responds.
He wouldn’t dream of leaving the two of you.
Suguru finished the crepes and was flipping them onto a plate when he felt a pair of strong arms wrap around his waist. At some point Satoru heaved himself up and trudged to Suguru, throwing his arms around him.
“Oh Suguru! Thank you, thank you!” Satoru exclaims loudly, smooshing kisses against Suguru’s face.
You giggle and watch the two as you grab one of the plates. Your laughter fills the small kitchen, a melody to the two men’s ears.
Suguru pried the dramatic man off his body and pushed a plate towards him.
With a mouthy grin Satoru accepted the food and began piling copious amounts of fillings inside.
Home, this was home.
The two of you shovel the food in your mouth happily while Suguru leans forward against the counter, his eyes tracing your figures.
“This is so good Sugu. Here!” You say with a grin, the last piece of your crepe sitting on your fork that’s outstretched in front of you.
Suguru never cared for eating his own cooking, he only ever made food for you. But he would eat anything you offered him, he thought.
Suguru opens his mouth to eat the last piece, his eyes flicking down once they make contact with yours.
“Thank you baby.” He murmurs around the food.
“And Satoru will do the dishes for us!” You offer up cheerfully.
“What? Why don’t you do them?” Satoru is snapped from his post crepe daze.
You ignore the question and stack the plates, moving them right in front of Satoru.
With a hum you ignore Satoru and hop off your stool, making your way over to Suguru. Your fingers run through his black tresses, combing through it as if you were untangling his hair, but it never got tangled. You always said it was because he had the perfect hair, you were jealous. Suguru had no idea what you had to be jealous for. He loved your hair.
“Come back to bed with me?” You murmur, wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling him down.
Suguru breathes in your scent, tasting the sugary syrup on your lips when you kiss him.
“We can sleep a bit longer.” You say.
Dishes clatter in the sink and you try to stifle a laugh. Suguru watches you with stars in his eyes as you glance over at Satoru.
How did he get gifted with such a life?
“Of course baby.” He says back. Suguru didn’t know if you knew, truly knew how much he loves you and Satoru. But he would try showing it until his dying days.

i need your hand but i don't want to burn it - One - She's Gone
A/N: Not going to lie, this past month has been a tough one for me. I recently lost someone and it just sucked all of the energy out of me for writing or anything else. I started this back on Feb 16th, within hours of receiving the news, because I was trying to process it as well as my feelings on it all. Beau was in my mind from the very beginning because like I mentioned before, I literally had the thought "Man, I could go for a Beau hug right about now." So this took form and even though I was blocked on everything else, this became a sort of tool of processing for me. I was going to keep this just for myself because I found it to be deeply personal, but then I thought, well, what if someone out there is also currently grieving someone they lost and a little Beau comfort might make them feel better, too? Even in this scenario? So that's why I'm sharing it.
While it is personal what I go into, I changed up things to keep it fictional and sort of tell a story. So the characters and dynamics are fictional, just not the feelings of the reader and the emotional journey/grieving process she goes through if that makes sense.
Unbeta'd so all mistakes are mine. I attempted the graphics.
Song that randomly came out of nowhere and strangely worked was "broken" by Jonah Kagen. The lyrics just really hit home for me.

It was a bright, sunny day when you got the news. The sky was this unimaginable shade of blue, not a cloud in the sky, and the temperature was a comfortable one. You were on the job and the slight breeze ruffled through your hair when you saw that your aunt was calling you. A knot immediately formed in your stomach; if she was calling you, that couldn’t be good. And sure enough, it wasn’t.
“She’s gone,” she informed you matter-of-factly.
It took a moment for your brain to catch up to what she was telling you. “What?”
“She’s gone, Y/N. Happened this morning.” Again, her tone was bland, as if she was simply telling you a package had been delivered to your home.
“How?” Your mind felt as if it was running in circles but also slowing down at the same time.
Poppernak’s head snapped in your direction but you immediately walked away from the scene. You didn’t notice the deputy watch after you and then head in Hoyt’s direction.
“Stroke.” Your aunt was only willing to give you one word but that one word changed your entire world. It altered the landscape of your universe in a big way.
You nodded, forgetting that the woman couldn’t see you, and you felt a lump start to form in your throat. You forced your gaze onto some trees ahead and mentally told yourself that you would not cry. “Oh,” you choked out. So much for not allowing any emotion to bleed through.
“Yep.”
Once again, very bland, almost dry. You weren’t surprised, though. It had always been like this between you. “Um…did they say when the services will—”
“Nothing’s set in stone yet but the information will be on the obituary online. It’ll probably tell people who can’t make it where to send flowers.” And just like that, the digs began.
You ignored her attitude and quietly cleared your throat. “Okay,” you attempted to smooth over. “I’m so sorry, Aunt Ida. If there’s anything you need, please call m—”
“Oh, I’ll call you, don’t you worry. But right now, as it stands, we’re good. I have to get going. I still have to get to the funeral home and make all the arrangements. I’ll be talking to you soon.” Before you could say goodbye, she hung up.
You let out a heavy sigh before lowering your phone from your ear. You focused on the trees once more, pushing any thoughts away and stuffing your emotions back down. When you felt confident enough that you wouldn’t break, you turned to find Hoyt and Poppernak watching you worriedly from near the crime scene tape. You sighed once more and then began your walk over to answer the burning questions they appeared to have.
You were driving back home on autopilot, lost in a sea of memories that forced a single tear out onto your cheek every now and then, prompting you to wipe each one away quickly. Your phone began to ring and as you expected, Beau’s name popped up. Well, that had to be some kind of record for Hoyt. Though, you supposed in these circumstances, you couldn’t blame her and you could appreciate her difficult position. She was only supposed to call Beau if there was an emergency but if she didn’t let him know that she sent you home for the rest of the day after receiving the news of a loved one’s passing, then she’d most likely be in hot water. In trouble with you or in trouble with Beau? It wasn’t hard to see why she made the choice she did.
Beau was on vacation and you hated for that to be interrupted, especially due to this. He worked his ass off every single day and he deserved this time. He had offered to take Cassie and Kai fishing and camping, after the date passed that the two were supposed to have gone with her dad who had been killed. Kai was excited and Cassie was grateful when Beau made the offer. You and Hoyt were happy for them. Beau had even tried to entice Emily to fly up for a visit and go with them, but Carla put a quick stop to that with the mention of school and it being Emily’s senior year. To say Beau had been disappointed was a massive understatement.
And now, he was most likely spending his time worrying about you alongside teaching Kai how to catch trout and attempting to keep Cassie laughing and her spirits high. You almost didn’t answer, because you didn’t want to be one more thing he had to worry about and also because you didn’t feel like talking, but in the end you did. To reassure him if for nothing else.
“Hey.”
“Hey,” he greeted back, sounding worried just like you had predicted. “You okay?”
You briefly closed your eyes in annoyance at Hoyt. Despite your initial understanding, this really wasn’t something she needed to call him about. Someone else, yes, but for you, no. “Yeah, I’m okay,” you reassured him. “Hoyt just thought it best that I take the rest of the day, clear my head, and come back fresh tomorrow. That’s all.”
A moment of quiet passed between you as he likely mulled over your answer. Accepting it, he then offered, “Do you need anything?”
You cleared your throat to keep the lump at bay. “Nope. Thanks, though.”
“If you don’t mind my asking, who passed?”
You pressed your lips together, not really wanting to answer, but he’d find out eventually. “My grandmother.”
Sure enough, his tone softened. “I’m so sorry, Y/N.” He knew how deeply this one would cut.
You swallowed past the lump again and forced out quietly, “Thanks, but it’s fine. It was expected at some point, you know?”
“Yeah. Doesn’t make it any easier though, does it?” Beau lost his parents back when you had worked together in Houston. His dad had passed unexpectedly due to a heart attack. Everyone had been shocked, of course, but it hit Beau’s mom the hardest. It wasn’t too long after that when she started developing her own health issues and began declining. Beau’s father had only been gone for a year and a half when he lost his mom as well. You and your unit were there for him, giving him your unending support, and half of the department had showed up to the funeral, just as they had the senior Mr. Arlen’s. Not only was Beau well liked and respected but his family were no strangers to law enforcement; his dad had served on the force for decades before he finally retired.
What you were feeling now in no way rivaled the loss he had endured back then. He not only had lost a parent, but he lost both in a short time frame. You couldn’t imagine how you would be feeling had that been you. You doubted you would be able to stand up much less continue to function day to day like he had. You wished you could borrow some of his strength, something you could use right about now.
“True.”
Another moment of quiet filled the car tainted by uncertainty and an almost alien awkwardness. That wasn’t the norm for the two of you but this situation also wasn’t the norm. Being your best friend and having known you for a long time, Beau knew some of your history but not all of it. What little you had told him had been enough for him to know this wasn’t a topic you liked to revisit and he needed to leave well enough alone. So he’d happily compensate and regale you with funny stories of the hijinks he and his brother used to get up to when they were younger instead. He didn’t push for more than you were willing to give and that was something you deeply appreciated about him.
And right now, you appreciated him even more for not pressing you for details or trying to make small talk around the huge elephant that was currently sitting on top of you. An elephant in the form of your grandmother, an elderly woman who helped raise you who you had a…complicated relationship with to say the least. You tried to think back to one of the last times you had seen her but you really couldn’t remember. The memory was there somewhere, on the edge of your mind, just out of reach. Instead, a memory resurfaced of a younger you holding onto her hand as you crossed a busy crosswalk in the city, wearing one of your best dresses with tights, shoes, a very proper coat with gold buttons done up, and a ribbon in your long hair. You had been on your way to see a play that she managed to get tickets for and you remembered that moment of her immediately shielding you as a car nearly hit you both, ignoring the traffic light as well as all of the pedestrians crossing. You couldn’t remember the heated exchange between her and the driver of the yellow cab, but you did remember her hurrying you to safety and then kneeling down to check that you were okay. You could see the determination in her light eyes shadowed by a layer of fear as she did up the top two buttons of your fancy coat and smoothed a hand down your hair. She had protected you and basically saved your life. The memory shocked you with its reappearance; you hadn’t thought about that one in a long time. You had to have been around six years old when that happened.
Beau cleared his throat quietly. “Listen, I’m on my way back.”
That jerked you out of your reverie. “What? No, Beau, don’t. I’m fine. You’re on vacation and so is Cassie. Kai was excited to go on this trip, don’t cut it short. I appreciate it but I’d rather your plans didn’t get interrupted.”
“I already talked to Cassie and she’s in agreement. We’re heading back. She talked to Kai and he understands. We’re going to try this again next month.”
The guilt was thick inside your chest. He had been trying for a while now to get Cassie to agree to a fishing trip with him, and he’d only just convinced her. “Beau…”
“Already done,” he assured you. “We’re packing up now actually. Besides, you’re going to need some time and Hoyt’s going to need backup.”
“I told you, I’m fine and I’ll be back to work tomorrow. You don’t have to—”
“You’re going to need the time for the services. Any idea on when they might be yet?”
You pressed your lips together and glanced in your rearview mirror. “Not yet.”
He heard what you weren’t saying. “Well, it just happened. Give ‘em some time and they’ll sort it out,” he offered gently.
“Yeah,” you muttered.
“You set up a flight yet?”
You shook your head, forgetting for a moment that he couldn’t see you. “No.”
“I should be back later tonight. I’ll come over and help you sort all of that out.”
It hit you in that moment that Beau was going to be seeing you in a few hours’ time. A part of you was relieved but another part of you wasn’t ready to let him in just yet. Not that you didn’t trust him (he was the person you trusted most actually) and not that he didn’t know how to be there for you, but something was stopping you from letting him.
“You’re going to be back late. How about you just stop by in the morning on your way to the office?”
You didn’t need to see Beau to know he was taken aback at your suggestion. “It’s not going to be that late,” he tried again. “I was thinking, if you didn’t mind, I could just stay at your place for the night. It’d be a shorter drive for me to the station tomorrow.”
You knew it would be and you knew he was just looking out for you, being there for you should you need him, but weirdly, that was the last thing you wanted right now. “I appreciate it, but it’s going to be a long drive and you still need to drop Cassie off. I’ll look up flights when I get home. You just focus on driving and let me know when you made it back okay.”
“Y/N—”
“Someone is calling me from a New York number. It could be important. I have to go. Drive safe, alright?”
“Darlin’, just—”
“Thank you for calling, Beau. It means a lot.” You meant that last part, you really did. You quickly disconnected the call before he could speak again. There was no call from New York, of course, and you know he knew that, but you just needed a second to think. You put your phone on silent and continued the drive to the small house you had put a down payment on when Beau had convinced you to move here to join him about a year or so before.
You ran a hand through your hair and sighed, feeling majorly conflicted. You wanted nothing more than one of Beau’s comforting hugs but at the same time, you didn’t want to be touched or comforted. You didn’t want anyone’s awkward condolences like Hoyt had offered you earlier after Poppernak told her you might have received some kind of bad news. You didn’t want to talk or cry or try to distract yourself from reality in any way, shape, or form. You wanted to just be.
And considering where you would be flying to in the next twenty four hours, you needed as much time to process and compartmentalize as you could get.
There was no processing or compartmentalizing happening. Your brain was a chaotic mess at best. Your thoughts were all over the place, same with your emotions, and yet somehow you still felt numb and in shock.
Not only did memories play on a loop inside your head but you could not form one single coherent thought. You had walked past your full sink of dishes at least four times before you remembered you were going to stack them in the dishwasher. You had to remind yourself that you hadn’t eaten breakfast that morning, preferring your usual coffee, and you had to eat something now that it was late afternoon so you could satiate the loudly rumbling hungry beast known as your stomach. You barely tasted the food or the beer you chose to wash it down with.
At some point, you had pulled out a shoebox you kept carefully hidden away in a closet and began to go through old photos you kept stashed alongside a few Christmas and birthday cards over the years. You studied your grandmother in each photo and whether it was a blessing or a curse, you weren’t sure which yet, you could hear her voice and even her laughter in your mind. You could hear her yelling, too, but your brain pushed those memories away, knowing you weren’t ready to deal with that just yet.
You came across one picture of the two of you. You were in high school and had just received an award. You two were standing outside of the school and neither of you were embracing or smiling too widely. One of your aunts had asked you both to take the picture, to mark the special occasion, but the truth was, you two had been arguing most of the day, practically up until the ceremony. Just one of the many arguments you both had over the years where you didn’t see eye to eye.
You dug deeper into the box until you pulled out a special group of photos in an envelope. You took a sip of beer, a deep breath, and then opened it. These were pictures of your parents, gone in a freak accident when you were barely kindergarten age. You smiled down at the photos of the two of them with a baby version of you. No matter where you were or who took the picture, all of you appeared to be happy. Sadly, you didn’t remember those times too much, the memories too hazy and existing on that fine line between reality and fantasy. You only remembered the sorrow, the pain, and the devastation their sudden absence left.
You came across a photo of you and your mother, but this time, your grandmother was also included. You must have been two years old and you were grinning widely from your mother’s lap at the older woman who smiled brightly back at you. You had even reached out your hands to her, almost as if you had been asking her to pick you up. You stared hard at the picture, almost as if trying to remember that exact moment in time so you could then remember the feeling.
Your phone ringing loudly made you jump and jerked you out of your concentration. You placed the photo down and sighed. You had put your phone back on when you arrived home a few hours ago and though he hadn’t called, Beau had sent you a few texts. It was more of him offering to come over, to be there for you, and to help with anything you needed. You had immediately swiped the notifications off of your screen; you couldn’t deal with that or anything else right now. You appreciated it but you just needed some time…some space actually. Just until you could get your head on straight.
You picked your phone up and glanced at the screen, surprised to see your cousin’s name flashing back at you.
Your brows furrowed and you immediately picked up the call. “Lucy? What’s wrong?”
“Hey,” she greeted you though her usual cheery voice lacked its usual enthusiasm. While you didn’t keep in touch with most of your family, Lucy had been the exception. You weren’t close by any means but her texts and calls didn’t always go ignored. “Aunt Ida said she called you today to tell you about Gran. How are you holding up?”
You shrugged. “As well as can be expected, I guess. How are you doing?” Lucy had been just as close with the grandmother you shared while growing up but she had also stayed within the family unit while you bolted. She and her husband, John, even purchased a home two blocks away from where your grandmother lived.
“Um, I’m okay,” she sighed into the phone. “It’s sad and not the way we expected but we all kind of knew it was coming.”
“Yeah,” you whispered, taking another sip of beer.
“I know it might sound horrible to say but it’s kind of a relief. For Gran, I mean. She’s no longer suffering. You know, after the past couple of years…”
You felt a familiar surge of guilt start up in your chest again, and a burning feeling began in the corners of your eyes. “Yeah,” you repeated. You both stayed quiet for a moment, each thinking back to Gran’s initial diagnosis of Alzheimer’s more than five years ago and how it had quickly progressed, especially during the pandemic years.
Lucy finally broke the silence. “So, um, I was just wondering if you were going to be flying in tomorrow.”
Your brows mashed together again. “Tomorrow?”
“Yeah. For the visitation the next day.”
Your head began to whirl. Perhaps it was the beer and you had misheard her. Though, you had only had two, maybe in conjunction with what you were feeling, you weren’t thinking straight. “Wait, wait. The visitation is the day after tomorrow?”
“Yes,” Luy sounded unsure why you were asking. “And the funeral will be the next morning. That’s why I was thinking you would probably be flying in tomorrow.”
“Aunt Ida told me that she had no idea when the services would be yet but she would let me know.”
“Oh.”
You could practically hear her nerves through the phone. “Lucy,” you warned. “When were the plans finalized?”
“Um…”
“Lucy.”
“Yesterday?” She nearly squeaked out.
That hit you like a gut punch. “Yesterday? I thought Gran just died this morning!”
Now you could really hear the nervousness in Lucy’s voice. “She, um, she passed on Monday morning.”
The fury working its way through your veins felt like molten fire. “Today is Wednesday!”
Lucy knew better than to answer that. “I’m so sorry, Y/N. I thought Aunt Ida explained when she said she spoke to you this morning. She was dealing with a lot and—”
“--couldn’t be bothered to tell me, I get it. But why didn’t you call me?” The tears building were practically burning your pupils. Your grandmother had passed away two days ago and no one could be bothered to tell you.
“I-I wanted to, Y/N. I really did but, Aunt Ida said—”
Your jaw tensed and you nearly slammed your bottle down on the floor next to you as you got to your feet, all too certain what Aunt Ida had said. While Lucy was a kinder soul than most in your biological family, she also lacked a backbone when it came to your older female relatives.
“Forget it,” you hissed, roughly wiping away tears that had escaped down your cheeks. “I’ll be arriving tomorrow. Is the obituary up or was she bullshitting me on that one, too?”
“N-No, they just posted it today. It’s actually quite nice. I think you’ll—”
“Send me the link,” you ordered before you hung up and quickly began scanning available flights as you hurried into your bedroom to begin packing.
It was late when you landed, your flight having been slightly delayed. Not that it mattered to you; if you could have delayed the flight altogether, you would have. But that wasn’t possible and neither was you staying in Helena. As angry as you were, you refused to let it keep you from doing the right thing. Plus, when you called the station earlier to tell Hoyt you wouldn’t be back until Monday, she had insisted you take the bereavement time available to you (more like ordered you) and see to your family, wishing you well. Normally, you would have put your foot down and flat out refused, content to hole up in a corner of the office and burrow yourself into work, but you knew she was right. You had to attend the services; you owed Gran that much at least.
You nodded a thanks to the cheery but tired flight attendant as she thanked you for flying with their airlines, and ambled down the bridge towards the airport. Thankfully, due to the late hour, there weren’t many people milling about and you were unencumbered from making your way down the escalator towards Baggage Claim.
While waiting for the carousel to start up, your phone started vibrating. You glanced at the screen, sighing when you saw the name pop up that had been popping up on and off all day.
You immediately rejected the call and slipped your phone back into silent mode. But before you could hit the button, a text snuck its way through to display on your screen.
You felt bad reading the message previews and you certainly weren’t trying to ignore your best friend but you just needed some time to process all of this on your own. You had sent him one quick text earlier telling him not to come by since you wouldn’t be home. You also told him you would call him as soon as you were able. Apparently, he was ignoring that last text going by his several attempts to make contact. You weren’t trying to stonewall him, you really weren’t, but you had to go into this with a clear head. Or as clear a head as you could have in these circumstances. Wasn’t that something he always said before you two went into anything dangerous on the job?
Speaking of the job, it wasn’t that you hadn’t seen your fair share of death, mostly in ghoulish evil ways that people had come up with in order to hurt each other, and it’s not that your grandmother’s passing wasn’t expected to happen at some point like Lucy had said. But you hadn’t been prepared for how you would feel when it did and you certainly hadn’t been prepared for it to happen now.
Conflicting emotions roiled in your head and churned in your stomach. Your empty stomach from that all-too familiar discomfort you’d gotten frequently during your career. The lunch you’d eaten earlier had made a reappearance after Lucy’s phone call. You would have to get some food and soon, but where you would get that at this late hour except a greasy diner, you couldn’t even begin to imagine. Not that it mattered, either. The very thought of food made an altogether different unpleasant sensation roll in your stomach. Emptiness versus nausea…fun.
Eventually, your other suitcase made its way to you and you quickly scooped it up. You ordered a Lyft, scoffing when you noticed the wait time was a half hour, possibly more, for a pickup. How was that even possible? This was an airport! At this rate, you’d be better off taking a cab but that was bound to be pricier than the Lyft. You heaved a great sigh and plopped down on your larger suitcase, resting your chin in your hand as you waited. Eventually, you whipped out your phone and decided to mindlessly scroll through your Instagram. You weren’t a fan of the app or any social media really but Em had made an account for you one day when you had unwisely left your phone sitting on one of Beau’s deck chairs while helping him pack Pedro for a camping trip he was taking her on. You quickly got bored of any new content on your feed, since there weren't any updates from anyone you actually cared about, and swiped over to your profile.
A glimmer of a smile appeared on your face when you saw the picture Em had taken of herself and her dad, posting it for you after she saw your Houston photo and labeled it a semi-pathetic attempt at a first post. Your eyes scanned through your meager posting and the picture of Poppernak that you had taken one day near the end of your shift reminded you why you wouldn’t be working with your beloved partner the next few days. Your smile immediately disappeared and you clicked out of the app, powered down the screen, and slipped the phone into your jacket pocket.
Luckily, only a little while later, your Lyft finally arrived. After loading your suitcases into the back with the driver’s help, you were on your way to the only hotel in town. You stared out the window as the scenery passed by. Your driver, Antonio, had tried to make small talk but thankfully begged off when he noticed you weren’t too talkative, most likely chalking it up to the late flight and you being tired. Familiar landmarks came into view as he turned onto another street and memories started to flood your mind. You shut your eyes, as if to keep them out, and it miraculously held them at bay a little longer. You then settled your gaze on the back of the driver seat, refusing to look out the windows until you arrived at your destination.
You’d have time enough to wallow in memories and regret the next few days. No reason to rush it.
As soon as you checked into your hotel room, you immediately jumped in the shower. It always made you feel better after traveling and the flight had felt excruciatingly long this go around. That could have had something to do with you coming from Montana, though. The few flights you’d taken from Texas back in the day had definitely been shorter.
You wrapped yourself in a towel, your damp hair spilling down your back, and started going through one of your suitcases to find body lotion. Once you found the bottle, before you could begin lathering it up in your hands, your phone vibrated on your night stand.
You heaved a sigh and glanced over, seeing you had another missed call from Beau, and yet another text.
You nearly rolled your eyes, knowing he would make good on this threat if you didn’t check in with him at least once before you went to sleep. And that was the last thing you needed right now.
You slipped in your earbuds, hit his name, then the phone icon, and switched it over to bluetooth as you began to moisturize your skin. He answered it in two rings.
“Hey,” he gruffed out before clearing his throat. “About time you called me back.”
You ignored how hearing his voice immediately made your chest feel that little bit lighter and your shoulders release some of the tension you’d been carrying around the past day. “Yeah, well, when someone threatened to put a BOLO on my ass, I responded real quick. That’s all I need, this town’s cops pounding on my door, in addition to everything else.” You had meant it to come out teasingly but your voice had betrayed your aggravation. You regretted it the moment the words were out of your mouth. You knew Beau was just worried about you, that he cared about you, and wanted to make sure you were alright. In all fairness, you could have at least sent him a text to let him know you landed but you were tired and didn’t feel like talking. He would have understood. He wasn’t the asshole in this scenario; you were.
“I’m sorry about that,” he offered gently and you could hear the genuine remorse in his tone. “I wasn’t trying to give you a hard time but damn, Y/N, not one single text to let me know you’re still alive?”
You flinched at the last word and started applying the lotion more aggressively. You were eager to be done with this call, with everything, so you could crash and finally get some much needed shut-eye. You hadn’t slept much in the past forty eight hours, probably stress from the job (it happened sometimes), and you were feeling it.
“Sorry,” he murmured. “I shouldn’t have said that.” More remorse.
“It’s fine,” you muttered, popping the cap on the bottle closed and placing it on the nightstand. “Well, now that you know that I’m fine, no BOLO’s are necessary.”
“Y/N, I didn’t—”
You knew you didn’t really have a right to be angry with him but you also didn’t have the bandwidth for dealing with anyone or anything right now. You appreciated his concern and him checking on you, but all you wanted to do was hit the sack and evade consciousness for a few hours. “Listen, it’s super late, I just got in because it was a late flight and delayed at that. I’m exhausted. So if we could…” You left it open-ended, hoping he’d just take the hint and say goodnight.
You heard some rustling on the other end and you realized he must have been in bed already when you called. You quickly glanced at the alarm clock and thought over the time difference. It wasn’t even 10:30 yet back in Helena and Beau was already going to sleep for the night? That was odd. Then again, he was now a deputy sheriff down and Hoyt would need the backup in case something came up. Plus, you knew he had cut his vacation short to rush back to Helena. He was probably just as exhausted as you were, possibly more so. “Y/N… You’re not shutting down on me, are you?”
You practically did a double take at the question. “What? No! I’m not. What, I’m tired and want to go to sleep after the long day I’ve had and that’s suddenly me shutting down on you? Seriously? All because I didn’t answer a few texts or pick up one of your many phone calls?” You had no idea why but that question majorly pissed you off. The logical part of you knew you were overreacting to a genuinely concerned question from your best friend but your temper seemed to be off to the races; you couldn’t stop it if you tried. “I get that you’re a grade A worry-er and everything but I’m not some goddamn child you need to check up on every ten minutes for Christ’s sake!” In your rush of anger, you hadn’t even realized just how much your voice had raised. Not until there was a deafening silence in the room and on the other end once you finished your little tirade.
“I wasn’t trying to insinuate that you were, darlin’,” he spoke calmly.
“Don’t you darlin’ me. Don’t you dare patronize me with that shit, Arlen. Do you hear me? Don’t you dare.” Your chest felt immediately tight again and tension filled your body once more. You huffed out an angry breath and decided the best thing for you to do in this situation was to end the call as soon as possible. “Look, you wanted to know I’m still alive, now you know. I would appreciate it if you would stop calling me and texting me all the time while I’m here and threatening me when you don’t hear back from me right away. That’s the last fucking thing I need on top of everything else,” you snapped.
Beau remained quiet but you could still hear his breathing on the other end so you knew he was listening to your ranting.
“Now, I’m going to bed. I appreciate the check in but it’s unnecessary. When the services are over and I’m going to head back, I’ll let you know.”
Still nothing.
“Good night, Beau.” You hung up and angrily tossed your phone onto the bed with your earbuds before heading back to the bathroom so you could blow dry your hair.
You thought over the entire conversation. You felt slightly bad that you had lost your temper with him when he was just making sure you were okay but God, you didn’t need that right now. What you needed was to get through the next few days so you could return to your life, your normal routine, as fast as possible. The best way you could do that was to keep going, not allowing yourself time to think, and get this done.
A twinge of guilt surged in your chest when you had that thought. You hadn’t meant anything disrespectful towards your grandmother or to insinuate that you didn’t care that she had died when you were thinking that. It was just…things were already going to be difficult, if your Aunt Ida’s attitude on the phone had been any indication as well as her behavior so far. If it hadn’t been for Lucy’s call earlier and the obituary link she texted you, you wouldn’t have even known when the services were going to be so you could grab the first flight out. Yes, things were bound to be difficult and tense until this was over.
You unplugged your hair dryer in a huff and finished getting ready to go to sleep. Beau just needed to give you space. Your life in Montana had nothing to do with anyone or anything here and you were determined to keep it that way. Texas never did despite your few trips back over the years; Big Sky Country wasn’t going to either.
You supposed you shouldn’t have been surprised at the text message notification on your screen when you lit up your phone.
You felt that twinge of guilt again but this time in your heart. Beau hadn’t deserved what you had unleashed on him before. He was a good man and he hadn’t done anything wrong. You were mentally kicking yourself as you hurriedly dressed for bed and snuggled under the sheets. You stared at your screen, your thumb hovering over his name, the desire strong within you to call him and apologize. You yearned to hear his voice one more time, even if it was just him talking and you listening, him giving you hell for the things you had said in anger earlier. Hell, you almost wished he was here with you so you could fold yourself into his arms and burrow into his chest, letting his Texan drawl wash over your ear as he assured you everything would be alright. And you could stay there as long as you wanted, safe and comforted, not having to face the world or how it had changed so drastically for you with one phone call.
After a minute of indecision, you decided to let things be, get some rest, and then call him tomorrow to apologize when you were a little more clear-headed. And God, you hoped you would be more clear-headed. You powered down your screen and turned the light off, getting into a more comfortable position. You closed your eyes and tried to let the silence settle over you to start lulling you into sleep.
A few minutes passed by of you unsuccessfully getting your mind to stop racing, constantly replaying your phone call with Beau, the phone call from your aunt, what Lucy’s call revealed (though you shouldn’t have been surprised), what you would be facing come tomorrow, and everything that entailed. Almost as if it was a track on repeat. Finally, you let out a loud huff and reached for the TV remote, turning the television on. You channel surfed until you landed on a rerun of The Golden Girls. You tried to get into the episode; the series was an old favorite that you loved. But when you saw Sophia talking to her granddaughter, you winced and decided that the show wasn’t for you right now. You continued to click through channels until you found an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond. The minute Marie walked through the youngest Barone’s household, giving her daughter-in-law a glare, you let out another wince. You finally settled on The Weather Channel and stared at the screen while the woman talked about the highs and lows expected for the next week in the area. You noticed that rain showers were being forecast for the day of the burial. How apt. And just like that, you knew your brain wasn't going to let you get any rest.
You sighed and tossed the remote away from you and rubbed your hands down your tired face. So much for sleeping.
The next day, you arrived at a familiar red-colored house with white trim, stepping up onto the old wooden porch. You could already hear a low buzz coming from inside as voices batted back and forth in conversation mixed with the sounds of young children running around and playing. One voice stuck out to you from all the rest and it made you tense up. A part of you wanted to turn around and retreat back to your hotel room.
You briefly closed your eyes and took a deep breath. No. You were not going to avoid this. You couldn’t. You wouldn’t. You could do this. You would do this. You were an adult now, you had your own life, and you were a deputy sheriff for Christ’s sake. You dealt with dead bodies, assaults, and much scarier criminals every single day. You refused to turn around and leave with your head hanging down.
As if to ensure you wouldn’t be able to leave, without your permission, your hand lifted and gave two confident raps on the front door. You could hear the chatter pause long enough that you knew they had heard the sounds. You straightened up and squared your shoulders, making sure you were holding your head high just like you did during work hours. It was a silly fleeting thought but you almost wished you were wearing your badge on your belt, having it near as some layer of invisible protection.
Before you could scoff internally at yourself, the door yanked open and there stood the older woman you hadn’t wanted to deal with. You hadn’t seen her in years and while her sandy hair was mixed with more gray and her face sported a few more lines resulting in an even harsher scowl than you remembered, the dark eyes full of contempt whenever they focused on you remained the same.
You didn’t smile, tear up, or surge forward for a hug, and neither did she. “Aunt Ida,” you greeted.
“Y/N,” she replied icily. “So you decided to show up for the services after all?”
You could feel your teeth set on edge but you schooled your features. You weren’t going to let her little digs get at you and you would be damned to let her see it if they somehow did. You weren’t fourteen anymore. “I did. Mind if I come in?”
Her beady eyes gave you a once over and she practically sneered before stepping back and opening the door a little wider. Not exactly a warm invitation but an invitation nonetheless. You gave her a nod and took it, ignoring the tiny snort of derision she let out as you did.
You sat uncomfortably on the old couch that you had hated as a kid. Aunt Ida had insisted this couch was for entertaining, not for young children to watch television on or jump on or do anything on really. The seat was practically as rigid as your aunt.
You silently wondered what Beau was up to now as a temporary means of mentally escaping this situation. You had tried to call him before you came over here but his phone had gone straight to voicemail. You would be lying if you said you weren’t a little hurt and a little let down that you hadn’t been able to speak with him. He had told you to call him anytime, that he was there for you despite the harsh words you had launched at him the previous night, but the one time you actually tried to reach out, he hadn’t been available. You hadn’t been prepared for the beep of the voicemail, signaling you to talk, and you ended up leaving him the most awkward message you had ever left someone. “Hey. It’s me. …I’m sorry. Call me back when you get this, okay? Or if you don’t want to, you don’t have to. I’ll understand, but…it would be really nice to hear your voice. Well…you know what I mean. Anyway, just call me back…if you want.” That had been four hours ago. And granted, he was three hours behind you now, but you knew he would already be up, getting ready for the day. So why was his phone off?
You had chastised yourself out loud after hanging up the phone, telling yourself that he was probably in the middle of something for a case that he got called in on overnight and couldn’t be disturbed. How many times did you have to do the same? You had scowled at yourself in the bathroom mirror while putting the finishing touches on your foundation. “What the hell is wrong with you, Y/N? You need to get a fucking grip.” In perhaps an immature move that you were glad no one else was around to witness, you stuck your tongue out at yourself and shook your head, muttering “Stop being such an asshole already”, and walked out the door.
And now you were here, in the house you didn’t really want to be in, surrounded by people that you didn’t really want to be around. Well, perhaps that last thought was harsh. There was really only one person you didn’t really want to see and she had been the one to let you in the door.
You quickly glanced around the room you were in, noting not much had changed since you had been here last, when you had left this town in your rearview mirror and didn’t look back. Even the scent you hated as a child was still the same: a mix of old lady perfume and stale cookies. You could feel nausea starting up in your stomach but thankfully you hadn’t eaten anything before you came here.
Your Uncle Mason, who sat on your right, gave you a tight smile when he noticed you surveying the room.
“Still looks the same, huh?” He offered.
“Exactly the same,” you agreed without looking at him.
Your cousin, Lucy, sat in the stiff armchair on your left and looked around as well, smiling. “I like that it hasn’t changed since we were kids. A lot of good memories happened here.”
Your gaze dropped to the oak coffee table that still had the scratch in it from when you were a child and didn’t know any better. That was one of your countless infractions your aunt had held against you. “Yeah, good memories,” you muttered. Out of the corner of your eye, you noticed Mason tense a little and Lucy fidgeting nervously.
You all heard Aunt Ida finish up her conversation and hang up the old handset before she made her way into the room. “That was the funeral home. There was an issue with the plot next to Dad but it’s been resolved.”
“What kind of issue?” Uncle Mason asked.
“Payment,” Aunt Ida spat out as she sat down before turning a fresh glare on you. “I hope you’re not here thinking there’s any money waiting for you and that’s why you decided to show up.”
You nearly ground your teeth together but forced yourself to remain calm. “Of course not. I’m here for Gran.”
She scoffed and shook her head. “Only took her dying, right?”
Lucy struggled to her feet, her round belly acting as an obstacle, but she managed. “You know, I don’t hear the kids anymore. I’m going to go check on them and be right back.” She then hurried out of the room; if she could have run, you bet she would be sprinting towards the backyard her kids had been urged out into when you had arrived. You couldn’t blame her. You would be, too.
“Ida,” Mason attempted to admonish his sister. “Now is not the time.”
“Then when is it?” She snapped, making Mason shrink back, before she turned her scowl back onto you. “Why else would you show up? It’s not like you came when she needed help, when we all needed help with her. You didn’t visit her once while she was in the nursing home. Not once when she was in the hospital.”
Your jaw tensed and you felt the familiar twinge of guilt deep within. “You told me not to come, Aunt Ida,” you reminded her.
She barked out a laugh. “Is that how you heard it?”
“That’s how I heard it because that’s exactly how you said it.” You didn’t look away when she was slightly taken aback by your reply. You refused to back down from this one. You reminded yourself that you were no longer a child; you were a grown woman who didn’t have to take her shit anymore. You were no longer dependent on her or anyone else in this family for anything though when you were, she had only been too happy to make you feel like crap for it every single day of your existence.
The woman shook her head, laughing at you. “Right. You’re some big shot cop now, right? Too good for us lowly citizens.” She smirked over at Mason in collusion, though her brother was shaking his head, refusing to meet her gaze. That angered her further and the glare she settled on you was worse than before. “It’s obvious why you’re really here. Like I said, there’s no money for you. Anything she had left went to the payments for the nursing home and her funeral. And what she had left was pretty much nothing. So if you came here expecting a payout from her will, you’re going to be sorely disappointed.”
You lifted your chin slightly higher in defiance of her accusations. “And like I said, Aunt Ida, I didn’t come here for anything other than to pay my respects to Gran, and to help where I can.” Your voice softened a little at the thought of your grandmother. “She would have wanted that.”
The other woman scoffed once more but didn’t say more due to the doorbell ringing.
“I’ll get it,” Mason hurried to offer and then nearly rushed from the room, leaving you and Ida in one hell of a glaring contest.
“I’m only trying to do right by Gran,” you assured her.
“Too little, too late,” she hissed.
You unclenched your jaw and took a quiet breath. “Yeah,” you reluctantly agreed. “Suppose you’re right.” Right then and there you decided that once you were back in Montana, you would sever all ties, this time permanently. You owed nothing to this woman or to any of them, regardless of any blood you shared. The one person you might have owed something to once upon a time was no longer alive. If anything, you were being quickly reminded why you had left this house all those years ago and hadn’t come back.
Ida harrumphed and continued to shake her head.
You were about to stand and leave, having had more than enough in this one little exchange with your aunt, and tell her to call you if she or anyone needed anything before the wake, when Mason returned and a familiar figure filled the entryway to the room. Your eyes widened and your jaw dropped.
There stood the very man you had been trying to get a hold of earlier, giving you one of his warm smiles. You could see slight rings of shadow underneath his eyes that were similar to yours that you had been sporting this morning before using concealer. Exhaustion lined his face but so did relief. His green eyes that were centered on you softened slightly and in that moment, you knew everything that had happened the night before had been forgiven. He was here, for you.
You didn’t remember making the decision to move when you hurried over to him, Mason barely able to get out of your way before you launched yourself at Beau who immediately wrapped his arms around you, practically picking you up off the floor. You squeezed your eyes shut to keep any tears from coming out and burrowed into his neck, happy to breathe in the familiar scent of his cologne. No one said anything and for that you were grateful. You didn’t want anything to shatter the one good moment you’d had in the past two days.
Eventually, when you felt like you wouldn’t break down in tears and you had yourself under pretty good control, you choked out in a whisper, “You’re here.”
“Damn right I am, darlin’,” he confirmed into your ear, making you smile as you heard that Texan drawl you loved so much. The tension in his body relaxed though his hold on you did not. You felt him press a kiss to your hair before hugging you even tighter. “I’m here.”

someone requested i do a part two of bf! christian head cannons, so here you go! 🤭❣️
here’s part one.
masterlist
i just so know he’d find every reason to pull into bed in the morning. he’d groan and pull by the hand or waist into his embrace, where he repeatedly just kisses your head until you give up and fall asleep. “it’s cold without you baby. just stay here with me… a few more minutes…”
bf christian finding any reason to bring you back your favorite flowers and reece’s. we know he has early training so let’s say after he comes home from that or having a day out, he tells you to close your eyes as he sets the bouquet in front of you. “for the most beautiful girl in the world. i love you.”
bf christian where he begs for your attention. you could be working, reading, cooking, just sitting there watching tv, but he’s literally begging for your touch, claiming it calms him. and when you do, he’s so quick to relax and let go for you, wrapping you closer into him. “i needed this. hate when you ignore me baby…”
bf christian where he begs you to watch the rain with him. the day starts off sunny but i’m sure he’d pull the “it smells like it might rain love” and true to his word he’s right. but you can’t help it, the smell, the grey skies, the rain and thunder sounds, and most specifically how he kisses your knuckles.
christian finding any reason to visit you during work and bringing your favorite food for lunch. he’s come in on his day off or after training, with bags filled of food for both of you. spending the remainder of the day with you there. “the house is so dull and lonely without you. need to be with you at all times love.”
after sex, he’s just so cuddly and loving. taking care of you especially if he went to much. but you especially love when he draws shapes and scratches slightly on your bum. “so soft and mine… did so good for me… my good girl always…”
since christian has experience with tattoos he would persuade you to get one. a small one that means a lot. imagine if one was dedicated to him? he’d go insane, im sure if it… “baby whaaat? you did this for me?”
you surprising christian with a nipple piercing 😵💫😵💫 after being some time apart like now during pre-season, he’s undressing you and his eyes bulge at the small jewelry on your nipple. he’d be gentle and kiss around it not wanting to hurt you, all while you just grab the hairs on the back of his head, biting your lip. “this is so sexy… you have no idea y/n…” (you can ignore this if you’d like, but i saw a tiktok about it and thought of him 😂😂.)
when hanging out with his friends or yours, he’s either behind you, one hand hugging your waist or, him sitting down and your on his lap. he so clingy ik it 🫠😵💫
buying a polaroid camera together, and taking it everywhere you go. pictures of you two at the park, in the car, you at his games, friends and family. you just having albums and albums of pictures of every moment together 🥲🥲 “look here chris… look at your freckles baby! love them so much…”
him trying to impress you by making drinks he saw on instagram reels or tiktok, and you find it absolutely adorable at his concentrated face or him watching you taste test. his brows furrowed in, a hand under his chin.
him posting you anytime he gets the opportunity, captioning them with the cheesiest words or emojis. “my 🌎🙏… #1 since day one 🤞… look at her, isn’t she gorgeous? 😍”
him being nosy and wanting to know every move you make. “where are you going?… who are you talking with? can i go with? who texted you?” and you just being suspicious or not telling him to get him annoyed 😂😂
you hate it but secretly love it, but he tickles you whenever he has the chance. he loves hearing you let out a fit of giggles or snorts. he loves the sounds, and all he can do is laugh with you.
before he leaves for a away game, he makes sure to leave his hoodie smelling like him, because he knows how much you love his scent, and how you wear his hoodies around the house. you’d text him, thanking him for being such an amazing boyfriend, and him all shy, his teammates teasing him. “wear them please. just make sure to think of me…”
after a heated argument or fight, which rarely happen, your so quiet and ignore him, because you aren’t sure if he’s still upset or if he even wants to talk to you. crying and hiding in the guest room, attempting to distract yourself. all he can do is go crazy and tug his hair bc you aren’t speaking to him, because he’s desperate to fix things between you.
he would make it up to you though, or bise versa. but he would knock softly, hearing you shuffle around, and when he sees you wiping your tears he just holds you, his heart wrenching at your sobs and the way you hold onto him. “please tell me you forgive me? i can’t help but you not talking to me y/n… i’m sorry baby…”
him finding a funny meme or video and sending it to you. him just finding any initiative to just make you laugh or make your day better 🥲🥲
during a work event from a job, he’s just whispering how proud he is of you, and congratulating you of all your work. kissing you, despite wearing red lipstick, his hand rubbing up and down soothing your nerves before making a speech or etc. “i’m so proud of you and all your hard work baby. look how far you’ve come to today…”
christian always making you feel included and never left out. people just overall loving you and your personality, especially how you put other first before you, and how happy you make other feel. “come here baby… this is my beautiful girlfriend y/n… this is y/n my future wife…”
while doing your makeup he makes fun of you and tease you on how your positioned and sitting in front of the mirror. “aren’t you uncomfortable love? ik you’re trying to get pretty but i can get you a vanity with lights?”

King Wally
“What’s a Peasant like YOU doing here! Goodness, you STINK!”
“No, I don’t like this. I don’t like this one either. You are supposed to READ my MIND! Can’t you already figure out what I like and don’t like?”
“I was a bit rude. I know that. But I will not apologize for it. Because I am King.”
“AHHH!! ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME?! GUARDS! SOMEONE! SAVE ME!!! THIS FOUL LOOKING THING IS TRYING TO KILL ME!!”
Jester Barnaby

“Stand STRAIGHT! What are you even worthy of if you can’t even do one simple thing!!”
“I may be merciful, but do not take me for a Fool. So do not treat me like one.”
The Advisor
“That is so funny, because the last time I remember you was… Never. I don’t think you are even good enough to be in the storage of my memories.”
“You see, because ‘pie’ is a consumable good, but ‘pi’ is a maths symbolism that equals to 3.14, it is the reason why you are DUMB. Those are NOT THE SAME THINGS.”

The Anarchist
“Boasting will do you no good. I don’t like ‘mysteries’ or ‘surprises’ either. Show it to me and I’ll believe you.”

“WHAT IN THE- Julie! SALLY! STOP POKING THAT THING! IT’S GOING TO CRUMBLE DOWN!! GODDAMMIT YOU TWO!”

Bounty Hunter Sally
“So we got Buggy and Pinkie on the team. You in or you out?”
“HA! No one can EVER come between ME and Pinkie! You can try all you want but you CAN’T ever separate the two of us!”

Tulips 🌷Walter Deville x Fem!Reader-The Invitation
Summary: You go about your day each week, doing the things in which you enjoy (garden work outside in the garden you own in the cottage house you have) and even taking care of the mini farm in which you have that’s located across your cottage home) when one day, he sees you from a little bit away, he can’t take his eyes off you, that’s when he becomes your new secret admirer. He (aka Walter Deville) starts leaving little gifts for you in your garden that you take note of and one day, the time you and Walter meet brings a few surprises that you certainly didn’t expect in your life.
(A/N: This was originally going to be writen as a Female OC character paired with Walter story, but I changed my mind and thought writing it as y/n reader paired with Walter looked better. Y/N is the main female lead in this.
Also, there's a lot of use of the words "darling" and "my love" included in this. Mini warning as it gets a little intense towards the middle, but nothing spicy or violent happens.
This is similar to @bi-bard 's work on here. After reading her's, I got inspired to write my own version, or something similar. I love the one she wrote!
By no means, is this a remake or copy of her's. The one I wrote is inspired by the one she wrote.
I aplogize if there are any grammar or spelling mistakes in this.
I hope you all enjoy <3)
🌷
It was always bright and sunny. No rain or cloud ever filled the sky, and when it did it was still peaceful to say the least. Each day of every week was pretty much the same. I would go to school, theatre school that is, then to work, and finally back home to my lovely cottage home. With everyday being beautiful outdoors, I took the opportunity to continue my garden work, which I became very passionate about.
My garden was filled with mainly flowers. From sunflowers to roses that perfectly lined up in a delicate row as one all around the garden.
A few steps away from my garden was my mini farm that did in fact have a couple animals living in it. A golden baby chick that was always waddling around, one pretty pink piglet, and a goose with fur white as snow.
Those animals were almost like my children. I adored taking care of them. That is exactly what I did every day when I came home from a busy day out each week.
🌷
It was a new week when I had come back home from being at school and then work. I stepped outside to water the flowers in the garden when I began to feel as though I was being watched.
“I’m feeling someone’s presence, but there’s literally no one around me” I thought to myself, furrowing my eyebrows as I quickly glanced all around and behind me and even straight ahead, outside the wooden gate that separated my home from the other half, that lead to the hills and empty fields that lead to more beautiful emptiness in the cottage atmosphere in which I was in.
Not thinking much of it, I shook it off, shaking my head briefly and then returned to my garden work and then headed over to my farm to greet my lovely animal friends.
Unbeknownst to me, as I was walking to the farm, that’s when the same presence recurred again. A little ways away from the farm and my house, there he was. Kneeling down and hiding behind a tree that was next to the cobblestone filled pathway that anyone could walk on, passing through the neighborhood.
He studied my every move from when I glided out of my garden and over to my farm and then walked into it. I had no clue there was a person there.
The person who hid behind the tree liked what he was seeing and wanted to get to know me, but he didn’t exactly know how to make the move and strike up a conversation with me. A sudden idea came to his mind and quickly disappeared to wherever he lived, knowing just what to do to get my attention, hopefully.
🌷
The next day rolled around and as soon as I got home and into my garden, I noticed something that wasn’t there before. Moving closer to it, I raised my eyebrow from curiosity when I saw a small golden key that looked like it could open a door, with a few tulips attached to it. I gently picked up the key and tulips and examined it for a few minutes in my hands.
“Why is there a key with tulips attached to it? This is difficult to understand" I asked myself.
Shrugging it off again, I walked back inside to my cottage home where I gently unwrapped the tulips from the key and placed them in a vase filled with water, letting them grow and show off their beauty in the inside of my home.
"Wow, that actually is really pretty." I thought to myself as I examined the tulips in the vase that was sitting atop my dining room table.
The day was finished and soon another began. I opened my door and glanced down and saw a small pile of tulips waiting for me to take them in.
I widened my eyes and covered my mouth with my hand as I quickly knelt down to pick up the flowers.
"What is happening here? This is starting to become creepy." I whispered to myself as I glanced down at the flowers quickly before looking around to see if someone nearby would confess that they sent the flowers.
No one was around. Great!
Quickly, I put the new set of flowers in the same vase with the first three and then headed to school and work for the day.
"It could be a quick mistake that the mailman made. Mix Ups in delivery are a common mistake that are easily fixable. Yes! That's gotta be it" I thought to myself while being at school.
This mysterious tulip situation was all that I could think about and focus on.
Nothing else. This was becoming an overwhelming distraction that I needed to stop thinking about.
I had to either find out who's behind this or put an end to it soon.
Hopefully the mysterious person would confess sooner rather than later.
🌷
It was when I got home for the night when I noticed yet another thing that caught my eye right on the steps of my home.
Reaching my front steps, I knelt down and picked up this letter and with it were more tulips. Of course.
Furrowing my eyebrows in slight confusion as I began to read and try to understand the letter in which it read the following, "Greetings Y/N, you are cordially invited to the New Carfax Abbey manor to meet Walter Deville, the lord of the manor. He has taken an interest in meeting you. If you accept, the meeting is scheduled for tomorrow. Transportation will be provided. Best wishes.
P.s. bring the gold key"
I shook my head in slight disbelief. How was all of this happening so fast? I felt a sudden thrill because I knew I would soon find out and meet the one who sent the tulips. Whoever this Walter person is.
I couldn't help but giggle when the letter mentioned bringing the key, "I was wondering what the key was about."
I went inside and then proceeded to do my fun hobbies outdoors and took care of my animal friends.
🌷
The day in which I had been waiting for had arrived. I looked out my window, pacing back and forth, kind of impatiently as I waited for my source of transportation. Whatever vehicle it would be.
Holding the gold key in my hands, a sudden knock on my front door was heard. I gasped softly and quickly scurried to the door and opened it and saw an older man standing a few feet away from my door.
"Are you miss Y/N, L/N?" The older man asked in a neutral, calm tone of voice and emotion.
"Yes, that is me, in the flesh. Are you Walter Deville?" I questioned quickly as the older man shook his head briefly.
"No. I'm the butler of the manor. You can call me Mr. Field. I've worked with Walter for many years." Mr. Field introduced briefly.
I nodded slightly.
"Come along now. Walter is expecting your arrival and wouldn't want to keep him waiting too much longer." Waved Mr.Field as he turned around and walked back to the black old fashioned Cadillac.
I quickly locked up my home and then followed suit to the car, thanking Mr. Field as he held open the car door for me as I got in.
Moments later, the drive to the manor began. My eyes loved and enjoyed the outdoor sights as we got closer to the manor. My heart beamed with excitement as we passed a few flower gardens that stood out in the green grassy open fields.
I got so wrapped up in the excitement of the flowers that I didn't realize we had arrived at the manor. Mr. Field helped escort me out of the car and seconds later, I found myself in awe while looking up at the manor that I stood before.
"Wow. This place is incredible" I whispered to myself, while admiring its beauty and mysteriousness for as much as I could before my thoughts of admiration were interrupted.
"Miss Y/N, I introduce to you the lord of the manor, Walter Deville." Announced Mr. Field as he motioned an arm to the man who walked down the steps and over to me with smooth, delicate, and quick steps who just so happened to be Walter Deville himself.
Walter was definitely not who I expected, but it was a pleasant surprise to say the least. "Thank you, Mr. Field for the introduction. I'll take it from here." Walter kindly said to Mr. Field as he quickly nodded his head and bowed and scurried away, leaving it to just be Walter and I.
"You must be Y/N? It's an honor to finally meet you" Said Walter as he smiled brightly. I smiled back, trying not to blush.
"That's me. It's nice to meet you too, Walter"
"Oh, please you can call me Walt, dear" Walt winked and smiled more. I widened my eyes and nodded. "Oh, why of course. It's nice to meet you, Walt"
Him and I smiled at each other for a few seconds more, the blush and heat growing on my face more and more. Walt then held out his arm and motioned for me to take his arm in mine, "Come along, dear. I think it's appropriate to show you a tour of the manor. I think you'll love it"
I smiled and wrapped my arm into his and followed his lead as we made it into the manor. The manor was even more breathtaking on the inside as well on the outside. Classic works of art or paintings that looked like art were displayed perfectly all throughout the manor.
Followed by this was a large beautiful cobblestone grand staircase that I found myself barely having time to really admire as I found Walt guiding me up the staircase and through a pathway that led to different rooms.
Walt showed me every room possible, from the kitchen to the grand library, which I thought was incredible.
As we were walking through the large open hallways, Walt glanced down at me and smiled softly, "I would be honored if you told me about yourself."
Glancing up at him, I smiled too and then gently shook my head, leaning it forward just a bit, "Oh okay. Uhmm, what would you like to know?"
"Anything. What do you enjoy doing for fun? Hobbies of any sort?" Walt replied, wiggling his eyebrows slightly as he continued to look at me.
I giggled and blushed, looking away from him briefly to relax my face. "Well, I enjoy performing, you know acting in plays, becoming characters that you normally would never be in reality." I firstly mentioned, looking back over at Walt as he remained quiet but was eager for me to continue talking.
"I guess I've always had a strong passion for performing ever since I was younger and being in my first play in school, Really helped set that goal for me. I should also mention that being outdoors, gardening in particular. I've always enjoyed planting flowers ever since I was child. It's another passion of mine if you will" I smiled more as I finished my long answer about myself.
Walt smiled as he nodded his head, showing me that he was listening. "Lovely answers, darling. It's refreshing to see those passions within you. Speaking of gardens, if you look out this window you'll see the manor garden out there. Please feel free to use it any time you wish."
My smile grew and grew as the excitement in me increased. I was becoming more and more speechless.
"I can assure you that there are plenty of tulips in the garden waiting for you, darling" Said Walt, with another charming wink my way.
I widened my eyes and gasped softly after putting the pieces of the days and even weeks before together. With the mysterious gold key to the tulips always showing up at my house.
Walt was the one who sent them.
"H-how did you know? Wait, you were the one who sent them? You sent the tulips, didn't you?" I asked, raising my eyebrow slightly.
Walt chuckled once more and nodded, "You are absolutely right, darling. I did send you those things."
"I honestly never would have guessed. But why did you send them, Walt?" I asked softly as I gently crossed my arms in a neutral way, staring back at Walt.
"I happened to be in your neighborhood and let's just say that you caught my eye but I didn't know how to talk to you before that, so sending the tulips was my way of communicating. I knew you'd like them. Any flower really. You can say that I was your secret admirer" Said Walt, smiling even more brightly than before.
How was any of the things I'm hearing coming out of his mouth possible? My mind couldn't comprehend the fact that I did in fact have a first secret admirer. Growing up, that was something I struggled with not having. I wasn't the type that people crushed on or liked me back if I felt that way towards them.
Learning to accept that fact was indeed a hard pill to swallow, but over time, I got used to it. Knowing that Walt (maybe) had a crush on me, sent shock waves all through my body of adrenaline.
🌷
On the next (last) stop in our tour, I found myself raising my eyebrow in slight confusion as Walt and I stood in front of a door in which I had no clue as to what was behind it.
Walt turned around and glanced at me for a second, taking both my hands into his, "May I have the key please, darling?" He kindly asked while pursing his lips slightly that fell into a smirk.
Getting lost in his beautiful and mysterious expressions and features, I nodded quickly while stumbling out for words. I removed one of my hands from his briefly to retrieve the key that was in my pocket.
After handing it to him, he let go of my hand to turn and face the door as he inserted the key into the door in which it just so happened to unlock the room.
Brilliant.
Walt quickly glanced at me once more while unlocking the door, smirking that instantly caused me to blush. I giggled and my eyes fell to the ground for a moment, then back up when Walt held the door open for me, leading me inside.
The room was pitch black for a few moments, which caused me to furrow my eyebrows and my heart rate to increase slightly because I could'nt see a thing, that's how dark it was, "What is this place, Walt?" I asked out loud, hoping Walt would respond.
"You'll see, darling." Walt replied with a small giggle. A faint whooshing noise was heard and suddenly there was light in the entire room which revealed what the room was.
Seeing the audience chairs and large stage took my breath away. I knew exactly where we were, what this room was as I instantly loved it. I couldn't help but smile.
"Do you like it?" Walt asked softly, smiling at me. I quickly nodded and continued to smile back at him.
"Yes. Yes I do. It's magnificent. You have an auditorium fit for performers like me and fit for hosting performances in your mansion"
Walt chuckled at my reaction, "I had a strong feeling you might be pleased with it. You are always more than welcome to use it anytime, darling"
I smiled at the sound of that. A silence was heard for a few brief moments, until I heard Walt begin to speak again.
"What drew you to performing?"
I looked up at him and smiled, as my mind raced quickly to think of an answer that wouldn't sound boring or repetitive to him. "Oh uhmm, I guess ever since being in grade school and taking the drama classes there and being in the drama club really sparked my interest. Being on that stage alongside my friends as we pretended to be characters that we're usually not was a lot of fun for me." I said softly while smiling, my heart began to race, hoping that I didn't say too much to Walt.
He smiled and nodded his head while still looking at me, "Good answer. I think it brought a lot of happiness to your friends that you feel that way."
I nodded too while chuckling. "You're too kind. I really appreciate that, Walt."
"This auditorium, along with the garden is yours, darling. Everything in the manor here is yours. I hope I'll someday get to see you perform." Stated Walt as he playfully smirked again, causing me to blush uncontrollably.
"Perhaps you could even teach me how to perform." Walt suggested, which made me furrow my eyebrows in a playful way as a giggle escaped my lips.
"You really want acting lessons from me? I mean, I could give it a try,but I'm not an acting coach" I giggled playfully while clasping my hands together while looking at Walt.
"You and I just met, taking lessons from a complete stranger isn't ideal. Besides I don't think I'm very good at performing anyway" I admitted, slowly turning my head away from him for a second.
Walt shook his head in disagreement, "I don't think that's true. Give it time, I'm sure you'll feel like you and I have known each other a lot longer. You shouldn't doubt yourself on something you're passionate about. Please for me?" Walt said with softness in his voice.
I turned back to face him and blushed after hearing everything he just told me. I had no idea what to say. I glanced down at the floor for a moment, then back at Walt.
"I think that can be arranged, Walt. But I am curious though, why do you have this beautifully built performing auditorium if you don't use it?" I asked curiously. Walt pursed his lips playfully again.
"If you can believe this, when I was child, I too was a big fan of the arts. That goes for all art forms like painting, pottery, musical, and theatre. There was one instance where I found myself standing on a stage alone like this one here," Walt motioned over to the stage that was a few steps away from us.
"There was no crowd but seeing the empty chairs and imagining what an actual crowd of people would be like for me made me fascinated in that art form. Unfortunately, I knew I wasn't good at performing, my skills weren't there. I know yours are though, that's why I want you to teach me, darling" Said Walt, as he gently grabbed hold of my hands and led me to the middle of the stage, where he and I leaned against, standing next to one another.
Hearing everything that Walt said made my heart flutter. I think I was starting to fall more for Walt. I hope he will be there to catch me when I make my final leap.
"All of what you said is extremely heartwarming, Walt. I want to teach you, but we still literally met today. Wouldn't you want to get to know me for a bit longer? You know, for a few more days at least?" I asked while fiddling with my fingers as Walt chuckled softly.
"Within these few hours of spending with you has made me already feel like we both know each other. Can't you feel the connection, darling?" He asked in a soft tone while slowly leaning towards me.
I could start to feel my face start to burn from blush when he got closer to me. All I could do was nod my head, my mind was spinning. What was Walt doing? Was what I thought going to happen next?
"Y-yes I think I'm starting to feel it, Walt. I think I've come to the conclusion that you're really great." I smiled as my eyes glanced down at the ground for a second. My eyes picked back up when I felt Walt's hands gently on top of my cheeks, causing me to blush once more.
"I also think you're really great too, darling." Walt softly replied as his hands gently caressed my face, his thumb gently rubbed against one part of my face, causing my heart to beat extremely fast.
Walt kept leaning forward, the tips of our noses touched as his lips were centimeters away from mine. "May I kiss you, darling?" He asked softly. I nodded my head and felt my heart want to leap out of my chest.
"Yes" I quickly whispered. Walt closed his eyes and gently pressed his lips to mine, kissing me which I had never ever experienced before. I wanted this magical feeling to last for as long as possible. This wasn't what I expected to feel as my first kiss, but it was one that I was head over heels for, instantly loving it, trying to hold onto the feeling forever.
As the kiss deepened, Walt had gently rested his hand atop of my arm when I felt what felt like him poking and pinching my arm and the skin around it. I gently pulled away from the kiss and gasped softly after feeling the pinching.
"Hey? What was that for?" I hissed while grabbing hold of my upper arm and then furrowed my eyebrows up at Walt.
"I am so sorry, my love. I didn't mean to do that on purpose. I guess I got too ahead of myself there." He admitted with a slight chuckle. His hands were holding mine briefly.
Taking one of his hands, I lifted it up and examined it as my eyes widened when I saw and studied these bright red monster-like claws that took over his human fingernails. What was going on here?
I furrowed my eyebrows once more up at Walt as I still held his hand, "W-what are these, Walt?"
Walt took a deep breath as he looked straight into my eyes, "Now, my love please believe me when I say it's nothing to worry about. Not even to be afraid of either. I can reassure you that I will never use them to hurt you in any way." His hand is still holding mine.
I tried slowly backing out of his grasp but he didn't budge. Acknowledging my attempt to escape, Walt remained calm as his thumb rubbed against the top of my wrist, hoping that would calm me down.
Of course it did.
🌷
I would have fought more but I had no idea what Walt was capable of and I really didn't want to get on his bad side. Taking a few deep breaths as I relaxed in his touch. My mind began to spin again. I had no idea what to think of it all.
My body was filling up with both fear and adrenaline, like heavy waves of water crashing along the shore rapidly.
"Are you afraid, my love?" Walt asked quietly. I glanced up at him while shaking my head, "I'm not afraid. Of course not."
Walt gently let go of my hand, which allowed me to pull back and hold on it with my other hand, near my chest.
"Y/n" Walt began with a calm but stern tone while walking to the other side of me and the stage.
"I can sense a little bit of fear in you. You don't have anything to fear, I am not going to hurt you. You are going to be just fine with me, under my protection, darling."
There was a slight pause, I was still trying to understand it all. Nothing was ringing any familiar bell in my brain. Walt and I locked eyes with one another, "What are you?" I asked in a soft whisper.
Walt leaned towards me for a moment while smirking, and that's when I could feel the heat grow on my face just a little bit again, the same as before the secrets were revealed.
"Why don't I just show you, darling." Walt quickly replied and smirked a little bit more for a moment, which then turned into him opening his mouth, revealing and showing his two pointed and sharp vampire fangs.
The heat on my face grew when my eyes saw his fangs. I covered my mouth with my hand for a brief moment.
"Y-you're a vampire?" I asked in a soft tone. Walt smirked again while closing his mouth and nodded.
My whole life I've always been fascinated with the concept of vampires. But that was always in stories and films. I was told that vampires don't exist.
Man, was I wrong! But I think it's horrifyingly cool in reality.
🌷
"My love, you're a part of the family now. I strongly believe that one day, very soon, you'll be a vampire like me, too." Asserted Walt as he gently held my hands once more. I widened my eyes and was taken back by the powerful statement he said.
"I'm sorry what? Me, be a vampire like you?" I questioned, furrowing my eyebrows up at Walt as he simply nodded at me once more.
I shook my head in disapproval, "I think this is all amazing and breathtaking, Walt but I don't think I have what it takes to be a vampire. I'm so sorry." I pulled my hands away from him and began to walk towards the auditorium doors. Walt stood where he was, watching me walk away with slight worry in his eyes.
I only made it inches away from fully exiting when I was stopped right in front of Mr. Field. "Oh, hi again Mr. Field. Would it be alright if you took me home now?" I asked, hoping he would follow through.
Mr. Field shook his head, "Apologizes Miss Y/n, but I am unable to do that request."
I closed my eyes and brought my hands to my chest, fighting back and holding back my tears that I felt forming in my eyes. I slowly turned back around to see Walt, but he was gone.
I didn't hear or see him leave. This was confusing. Furrowing my eyebrows at the empty spot in which Walt stood once before, I quickly turned my head and body back towards the door, attempting to leave the auditorium when I gasped loudly.
"My love, please don't leave. This is your home now. I promise you my full protection. You are completely safe with me. I will not hurt you." Walt softly assured me as he magically appeared right in front of me, resting his hands on my arms that were held in front of me, fighting to not get too close to him.
"Please just listen to me. Please, darling" Walt cried out, getting me to stop and stand still, taking deep breaths as I looked into his eyes. He rested his hand atop of my shoulder.
"What about my home? My school and work? I have a family who I care about very much. I need to go back to them sometime soon" I questioned softly. My heart and mind burned while awaiting his response.
"Your family can visit you anytime. You don't have to say goodbye to them, darling. You don't have to say goodbye to that life. Everything will remain the same." Said Walt, reassuring me again. He began rubbing my shoulder with his thumb briefly.
🌷
I closed my eyes once more and felt a few tears start to fall down my cheeks. I was totally overwhelmed by everything I was being told. I wanted to go through it, but I was terrified of the whole transformation process.
"Hey, hey, hey. Y/n, it's okay. You're safe with me." Walt softly spoke against my ear and planted a kiss on my cheek.
His kiss on my cheek began to sooth my scared emotions down. I blushed as his lips remained on my cheek for a few brief moments, "I am being totally truthful and honest with you, my love. Please believe me. I wanted to tell you right away, instead of keeping it a secret and having you find out on your own." Walt admitted as he kissed my cheek once more before gently holding my chin with the tips of his fingers.
I continued to take deep breaths and nodded my head. I guess this is a childhood dream come true for me. Meeting a real vampire, falling in love with him, and becoming a vampire myself has always fascinated me.
What? It's true! Haha
All in all, I don't care about the secrets of what Walt is and what lies within the manor. All I truly care about is Walt and being with him everyday, and being under his wing.
I glanced up and into Walt's eyes as he looked into mine, a small smile began to show upon my face, "Walt. I thought about it and I changed my mind. I think being alongside you and being a vampire is okay to me. It's not so bad anymore. I'll stay, I promise."
Walt smiled brightly after hearing what I told him, "Yes? You will? That's wonderful, love. Thank you!" He pulled me in for a warm hug as I hugged him back, resting my head on his shoulder and blushed when I felt his lips kiss my neck gently.
From this happy and romantic time, Walt politely waved Mr. Field off, allowing him to leave and go about his business. He did just that, bowing before Walt and I and then exiting out of the auditorium.
"You are in complete and safe hands with me, like I previously mentioned. Oh and welcome home, my love." Said Walt as he winked my way, causing me to blush again. He then magically held out a tulip that he held behind his back and handed it to me.
I smiled and giggled softly as I took the tulip from him and thanked him for it by giving him a kiss on his cheek.
I swear I saw a tint of blush appear on his face that made my heart flutter with excitement. Oh what a thrilling time to be alive!
-the end!
I hope you all enjoyed my very first Walter 'Walt' Deville fanfic! It was tons of fun to write. There will be more of Walt to come from me soon, I promise! <3

Wind Breaker Episode 10 Review - Yesterday's Enemies Are Today's Friends
Did you know that only three days have passed in-universe? Episode 1 was a whole day. Episodes 2-4 are the second day and Episodes 5-10 are the third day. Crazy, right? It’s also crazy to have a picnic with your enemies, right? Well, that’s what Umemiya decrees, so it must happen. It’s like that quote, “Yesterday’s enemies could be today’s friends.” Come to think of it, that quote is heavily applied here! Bofurin and Shishitoren are now on good terms with each other!
The picnic scene with Bofurin, Togame and Choji was nice. I guess my only little gripe was that only Togame and Choji were present and not Sako, Arima and Kanuma. I guess it’s a bit more meaningful if the two tops were there and not minions. It was still a missed opportunity for the anime to add the other three, honestly. Anyways, I do like Umemiya’s philosophy on what it means to be the top of a gang. He equates it to eating. He loves eating and wants to be with people as he eats. Having people gathering around him while he eats is the same as being the top of the gang. He gets to do something he likes and do it with others. He’s here because he has people he can count on and people who look up to him. Being the top wasn’t a solo effort, but a team one. It’s a good lesson for Choji as he once had people whom he could count on but chose to leave behind. It’s also a good lesson for Sakura who has always been alone and doesn’t understand what it means to not be alone. It’s a good growing experience for him.
The scene with Bofurin hanging out at Cafe Pothos was also a nice scene too. Umemiya wanted to know if Sakura was able to convey his words to Togame. However, Sakura never heard a voice or anything. It turns out that Sakura took his words literally instead of figuratively. What Umemiya was trying to get at was for Sakura to feel something for his opponents. I believe it worked because Sakura did try to punch Choji when he kicked Togame. I do believe Togame is the first time he connected with someone through his fists, hence why their bond is rather unique. He’s the reason why Togame was able to make amends with Choji and Shishitoren and deal with that comes after together. No matter how much Sakura denies it, he does like Togame which was why he was very fervent on wanting him to become a cool guy.
Other than the good scenes with Bofurin, I also liked the parts with Choji and Togame. The part where they were prostrating and Sakura scolding them was so cute. However, my favorite part was when the two were sharing anpan together. When Choji was laughing and enjoying the taste of squished anpan, the scene moved Togame so much that he lied about the rain when it was bright and sunny. It reminded me a lot of the scene in Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood where Roy cried at Hughes’s funeral and lied to Hawkeye about the rain. Since the anime, Togame has become one of my favorite characters and to see him cry over the fact that his sun has returned got me emotional. I’m so happy for you, Togame.
However, the best part of the episode was Sakura spitting out his coffee at Umemiya and him actually reacting poorly to the coffee in his eyes. That part was the needed comedy in an emotionally heartwarming episode. Then, the part where Sugishita was threatening to throw a chair at Sakura was also hilarious. I’m surprised he hasn’t been banned from Cafe Pothos yet.
Good news for Wind Breaker fans, there are thirteen episodes, which means that there are three episodes left. As a manga reader, I think there’s enough room to have a good conclusion for the first season. Who knows if a second season will be announced? I sure hope it does because next week is definitely the debut of Tsugeura and Kiryu who are also important characters, but it’d suck if they only get minimal screen time despite having high quality voice actors. What are your thoughts on this episode?

Like the Stars in the Sky - Roronoa Zoro x Reader Part 9
Pairing: Roronoa Zoro x Reader
Warning: 18+. Language, implied smut
Summary: A companion piece, and continuation of, A Man of Little Words
A/N: [Part 1]; [A Man of Little Words]
Zoro took the frown on your face as a sign that his attempt at light-heartedness hadn’t exactly gone to plan. But then, he supposed, you’d asked a stupid question anyway so it wasn’t entirely his fault. He groaned inwardly. This was ridiculous. He was a grown adult and yet here he was stumbling over his words as if the ability to speak was a foreign concept.
Fucking sake. Fucking...you. Everything had been fine. Everything had made sense until you had decided to make him fall in love with you.
He regarded your expression curiously, trying to work out what you were thinking yet failing miserably. But he did notice the way the moonlight illuminated your features. All that achieved was to make him want to kiss you again. His heart jumped at the thought, and he took a long, steadying breath. The longer the silence engulfed the two of you the more he was becoming convinced going after you had a been a terrible idea.
Fuck it. The silence had gone on for too long. “Are we…?” he stopped, not entirely sure where his sentence was going. Are we what? Fine? Obviously you weren’t. Obviously everything between the two of you was almost irreparably fucked.
You shuffled forward slightly, repeating his words expectantly.
Zoro cleared his throat and shook his head slightly – an attempt to shake off his feelings as well. Right. He was making a decision. “You should get some sleep.” He said bluntly before turning around and heading back towards the crow’s nest, clenching and unclenching his fists as he went and trying desperately to convince himself that this was the right thing to do.
*
TWO DAYS LATER
Yesterday the Sunny had docked at a new island, and thankfully the exploration had provided enough distraction that you had managed to almost completely avoid Zoro. The lack of proximity had provided some much needed clarity. Maybe, probably, your feelings were always going to be unrequited. That was just going to have to be good enough. You couldn’t make Zoro reciprocate, but you could protect your heart – as long as you managed to continue to ignore him.
“Berry for your thoughts?”
You smiled as Nami sat down on the sand beside you. After an afternoon of wandering the small coastal town you were now relaxing on the beach with a few bottles of beer. Several feet away you could hear Zoro and Sanji arguing as the cook prepared a barbecue – not that you were giving the swordsman any of your attention.
“I’m alright,” you replied and held up your beer bottle clink against hers, “Got a beer, got a view.”
“Yeah, okay.”
You frowned at her. “What?”
She shrugged. “I don’t know, maybe the fact that you and Zoro haven’t been within ten feet of each other for days.”
You cursed inwardly and took a swig of your beer. If anyone was going to notice your change in behaviour it would be Nami. “Maybe he’s just being unusually annoying.” You tried to sound nonchalant.
Nami’s raised eyebrow told you she clearly wasn’t convinced, and knowing her she wasn’t going to let this go easily. She was far too intuitive for your liking.
“It’s nothing,” you let out a sigh, “Literally nothing is going on with us.”
“Ah,” Nami nodded, “So that’s what’s wrong.”
Oh shit. “Wait, it’s not like that.” You could feel your cheeks flushing and ran a hand through your hair. You had definitely put your foot in it now.
“Hmm. That’s not what I heard.”
Your eyes widened. “What have you heard? What’s he said?”
Nami smirked, “So you do like him.”
“Oh fuck off.” You nudged her shoulder with your own and then let out a deep sigh. “Is it that obvious?”
The redhead hummed in thought. “To me, yes. Everyone else? I’d be surprised.” She smiled wickedly at you, “I’m sure Sanji will be heartbroken.
You rolled your eyes, a hint of a smirk gracing your lips. “I’m sure he’ll cope.”
An easy silence fell on the two of you, and you let your gaze briefly linger on Zoro – still arguing with Sanji. It was one of the few times the swordsman was remotely animated. You chewed your lips in thought. It had been torturous avoiding him so you were going to allow yourself a few moments of indulgence. Thankfully he seemed oblivious to your staring.
“You really like him, don’t you?”
Nami’s voice pulled you away from your thoughts and you began to fiddle awkwardly with your bottle. It had been hard enough admitting your feelings to yourself let alone anyone else. Nami knew – but there was a huge difference between her knowing and you telling. “Am I an idiot?”
“Not for having feelings, but yes, obviously if you’re trying to pretend you don’t.”
You groaned and turned your gaze back to the ocean in front of you. “So what am I supposed to do?”
Nami rolled her eyes, “You tell him.”

Okay so Idk if you’re still taking Dani Rojas suggestions, but imagine going on a picnic date with him and being the absolute golden retriever puppy that he is, is just so excited that he plans the entire date!
Dani Rojas x GN!Reader - Picnic Date Headcanons
Summary: Headcanons for beloved Dani Rojas planning and taking the reader on a sweet picnic date.
Warnings: Alcohol mentions and very minimal consumption (no picnic date is complete without it!).
A/N: Went with HC’s for this, thank you for requesting, enjoy!
I think we can all agree that Dani would definitely be a bit of a hopeless romantic in a relationship.
So, picnic dates on a sunny day are his absolute favourite.
He’s insistent on bringing all the food because he wants to treat you as much as possible.
When you ask if you can bring some cupcakes and champagne, he’s telling you that he’s already picked them up.
You admit defeat eventually. Dani is too committed to the date being completely perfect.
He definitely packs too much food.
He makes the mistake of going to Costco and getting huge trays of things, and then rather than taking some out and saving some for later, he just brings it all.
You agree to meet at Hyde Park.
I imagine it’s literally all he’d talk about all week to everyone.
Like, constantly asking you if you’re excited, telling you that he’s excited.
He even asks Ted if he thinks he has enough food, and Ted just nods with a slight look of horror as Dani shows him a picture of a trolley with enough food to feed a family for a week.
The day comes around, and you get the tube in.
You were meant to meet Dani at the station, but he’d messaged saying that he had to get a taxi because he had ‘overpacked’.
You were a bit scared to see what on earth that meant.
Dani was already there when you arrived, sat cross-legged on the grass and looking around like a lost puppy.
“Dani,” you called, his head turning to you.
His eyes lit up, beautiful grin spreading as he pushed himself off the ground and embraced you in a hug.
“Mi amor,” greeted Dani, pecking your cheek. You noted how he was practically vibrating with excitement as he ushered you to the red plaid blanket he’d spread across the grass.
As you settled, Dani pulled over, much to your surprise, a large grey suitcase.
You watched in amazement as he opened it, pulling out large plastic containers of various foods and putting them down in between you.
“Is… Is there anyone else coming?” you asked, because surely you had to be hosting a get together to have this much food.
Dani looked baffled at the question. “To our picnic date? No!”
You laughed, cupping his cheek and smiling. “You’re too sweet.”
Dani beamed at you and then went back to sorting the food.
When it was laid out, he grabbed a smaller carry-on size case from behind him, unzipping it to reveal an array of blankets and pillows, some plates and glasses nestled between them.
“Do you want another blanket, mi amor? I packed every single one I could find.”
“I’m good, thank you,” you grinned. Your brows furrowed when you noticed Dani was still sat against the grass. “Don’t you want one?”
“No, I like to connect with nature,” said Dani simply. You chose not to question him.
Minutes later, your glasses were filled halfway with champagne and your plates were piled with delicious food.
Dani had moved to sit next to you, an arm looped around your waist and your head resting back against his shoulder as he talked about training in between bites.
I can picture him trying to recreate that scene from HSM 2 where they throw strawberries into each other’s mouths.
He misses every time. It’s a good thing he plays football and not a sport that relies on aiming by throwing.
You just have the sweetest afternoon, snacking and talking about everything in between sweet kisses and gazing at clouds.
Dani always throws a bit of food to any bird that comes near you even if you tell him to stop so you don’t attract a flock.
He is too giving!
When afternoon starts turning to evening and it starts getting chilly, Dani wraps you in one of the fleece blankets he brought and then begins packing up the food.
You watch adoringly as he gives a tray of cupcakes to a family sat nearby, Dani grinning as the young kids reach for them straight away.
Dani packs everything up and then you’re ready to go, the carry-on slotted on top of the large case for Dani to drag because God forbid he let you carry anything.
Just as you go to leave, it starts to trickle with rain, and within seconds, courtesy of the Great British weather, it is absolutely pouring down.
Anyone sane would make a run for it, but you and Dani especially are far from it.
“This is perfect!” exclaims Dani, letting go of the handle as you toss your blanket aside. “It is like a scene from a movie!”
You’re both laughing gleefully as you embrace each other, Dani’s arms wrapped securely around your waist as he spins you.
You don’t care that the rain is making you near freezing, nor does Dani. You’ll worry about that when the moments over.
Dani hadn’t planned for rain, but he was grateful that it came down regardless. He couldn’t think of a better way to end the date than dancing in the rain with you.

When the flowers bloom
Jake x Reader
Genre: Fluff
Summary: A fun and cute Lego flowers date with Jake! masterlist
________________________________________________________________
It was a sunny afternoon which called for a picnic date by the river downtown. You and your boyfriend made it a hobby to tire yourselves out with dates like going to the movies, checking new restaurants, library dates, café hopping and so much more. But having a picnic was not yet included in the list.
“Love, do you wanna go out with me?” You asked your boyfriend who’s busy scrolling through his phone. Both of you were glued to the bed all day so it was not a bad idea to go outside. He looked at you and raised his brows.
“Why? I’m already going out with you.” He replies while biting down his lower lips, anticipating your reaction. This made your heart crush in a good way but you were not about to flirt with your bf this minute. Rolling your eyes, you hit his ankles which made him giggle. (I’M NEVER OKAY WHEN HE GIGGLES ISTG)
“Do you want to go out? Love?” He says, not forgetting to mention the word that just makes you want to float around and scream.
You looked at him and noticed the unsure look on his face. You guessed he was not in the mood to do anything at the moment. But you had something planned out, and you didn’t know how long it would take him before he found that surprise, so you had to do it today.
“Yeah, I kinda have a plan...” You were starting to doubt your idea. His expression changed to one of puzzlement. “What is it?” He asks delightfully. You cleared your throat, scared that you’d break his expectations. Now you were 70% close to not pushing through the idea.
“Uhmmm... A picnic date maybe? BUT it’s fine if you don’t want to, I know you just want to rest toda-” You were cut off when he placed his hand over your mouth to shut you up. He looks at you lovingly and giggles one more time (I’M NOT OKAY) before standing up and getting both your arms, forcing you to stand up too. He then places your arms around his waist, pulling you in for a hug. He sways you around slightly before kissing the top of your head.
“Don’t be anxious when you want to ask me something. I’m sure it’ll be lovely. Even if it’s not, I’ll still do it if it makes you happy, love.” He gives you one more sway before letting go. “Get dressed. I’ll go and pack food.” He leaves the room, leaving you frozen. It was during these times that your love for him was just overflowing.
Eventually, you get dressed like he said and packs the essentials. You went and grabbed one of your stocked blankets, which was big enough for the both of you. You folded it and put it inside a paper bag, that had the surprise inside. It was the main star of the day. You were strolling around the mall on one of your dates when you found these cute Lego flowers and you just had to buy them. Not to mention your boyfriend’s undying love for Legos. You managed to secretly purchase it, and now it was time to finally show it.
When you went outside of the room, you spot Jake, seated on the couch with a basket beside him. He raised his eyes from his phone to you and smiled. “You look lovely. I’ll change my clothes, then we’re set to go.” He stands up and goes to the room, but he managed to kiss your cheeks when he walked past you. This made your heart skip a beat. It always does.
--
“Thank you for suggesting this, Love. I really needed this.” Jake said, admiring the river view, his hair dancing with the air majestically. How does he do this?
You quickly laid down the blanket, feeling good about this. Everything was set. The air, the food, the view, your boyfriend. Literally everything you could ask for in life.
Both of you were silent, but not awkwardly silent. It was comforting. You enjoyed each other’s company.
You stood up, realizing it was the perfect time to do it. Jake was quietly staring at you, looking confused. When you took out the Lego box, his face lit up, and the smile on his face was adorable. He snatched the box from your hands and read the packaging, his smile not failing to drop.
You watched him with adored eyes as you watched him inspect the box happily, even giggling a bit. (I REPEAT, I’M NOT OKAY).
He stands up and gives you the tightest hug ever. You had to forcefully push him away because you couldn’t breath. His eyes glisten looking straight through your eyes. “I love you” he says softly, half whispering. You cupped his face and kissed his nose. “Anything for you, Love. Shall we start?” You asked him excitedly. He nods quickly and grabs your hand, leading you back to the blanket. “We shall.”
You spent the rest of the afternoon trying to build the set, arguing a few times before completing it.
“To my dearest, Lover.” He says handing you the Lego flowers with the sweetest smile. “Why, thank you, lovely sir.” You played along, accepting the flowers. You both laughed and fell into a quiet void. Just staring at each other until one of you melts.
He drags himself beside you and lays on your lap. You played with his hair, and he squinted his eyes in return. “Just like these Lego flowers, my love for you will never wither”.
