The Holmwood Rules Of Recording Sessions:

It WILL take longer than you think. Your daily schedule will be out the door in the first half hour. (It took us two hours longer than we expected.)

There WILL be technical difficulties. Our sound engineer helped everyone set up 48 hours in advance, and we were still swatting issues. It’s just what happens.

Be open and accepting of on-the-spot rewrites. Nothing massive, but sometimes an actor will know how to address a line with better clarity than you’ve written it, and that’s brilliant.

Hearing people speaking words you’ve written will never not be strange. Terrifying, but also so so rewarding.

You WILL think of something you could have added to the script five seconds after ending the recording. You’ll just have to hope you can add it in the edit.

fanartists are able to freely profit off both their skills and their love of certain media, and i am sometimes a little envious of that.

ultimately i love writing and i love writing fanfic and i do it solely for myself, which is why i keep doing it, but sometimes i wish i too could make some pocket change by writing something that brings me and other people joy
