Christmas Day
Written for: @steddiemas prompt: TOYS, SURPRISE @steddieholidaydrabbles prompt: HOT CHOCOLATE, STOCKING, CHRISTMAS WC: 429 Rating: G CW: NA Summary: Amelia opens her gifts, Eddie gets a big surprise AO3
Steve hands Eddie a mug of hot chocolate as he sits next to his husband. Amelia was surrounded by toys, opening box after box. She may be a little spoiled; to be fair, they told all their friends she never had Christmas before finding out why so everyone went a little over board.
But that was okay, Steve and Eddie saved their gifts for the eight days of Hanukkah. By the time she got through her gifts, it was lunch time, Eddie made her favorite, Mac and Cheese with bread crumbs sprinkled on top. They had a full holiday dinner planned over at the Hoppers’ so they didn’t want to get too complicated with it. After that, it was Amelia’s nap time and time for the men to exchange gifts.
They exchanged stockings, not bothering to take turns. Steve tipped his over and found a handful of candies, trinkets, and a new watch. He opened the box and gasped in shock.
“Eds! You found it?” He exclaimed. When they went shopping last month the shop had been out of this one. Eddie must have found the time to go back to get it. He looked over, confused by Eddie’s lack of answer. He understood when the shine of tears dripped down his face. He held a framed copy of an ultrasound.
“Stevie? What is this?” He asked softly.
“Chrissy said it worked.” Eddie gasped as he looked at his husband. “Turn it over.” Steve smiled. Eddie shakily flipped the frame to see a second ultrasound on the other side.
“Twins?” Eddie asked softly.
“Close. One from Robin and one from Chrissy.” Steve smiled. It was the perfect outcome. They’d have two new babies.
“Oh, holy shit!” Eddie cried out and jumped onto Steve’s lap. Steve thankfully anticipated the move and was ready to hold his husband. “Why didn’t you say anything?!” Eddie exclaimed.
“I wanted it to be a surprise.” Steve laughed. Eddie pulled back and kissed him fiercely.
“Consider me surprised! This is the best Christmas ever!” Eddie said. But then he froze. “But what about Amelia?”
“What about her?” Steve asked.
“I don’t want her to feel like we love her any less, since there will be two babies in the house. That are biologically ours. Like...she’s our real daughter, I just don’t want her to be sad.” Eddie began to fret. The little crease between his eyes was getting deeper and deeper.
“She won’t be. And if she is, we’ll make sure she knows we don’t love her any less.” Steve said.
“Promise?” Eddie asked.
“Promise.”

The grand villa was alive with laughter and warmth, an unusual sight for a house belonging to one of the most feared mafia families in Europe.
Lando Norris, heir to the Norris empire, sat at the head of the massive dining table, a glass of red wine in hand. The glow of the chandelier above reflected in his sharp eyes, but there was a softness to him tonight.
To his left sat you, his wife, the polar opposite of his ruthless world.
Where he ruled with strategy and precision, you led with compassion and kindness. You had a unique ability to bring light to the dark corners of his life, and tonight was no exception.
You were serving dessert yourself, much to the dismay of the staff.
“Madam, please,” Maria, the head of the kitchen, protested. “This is our job.”
“Oh, nonsense,” you said with a warm smile, placing a plate of chocolate cake in front of one of the guards. “You all work so hard. Let me treat you for once.”
Lando watched you with a mixture of amusement and adoration. The hardened men who feared his orders like gospel melted under your kindness, mumbling grateful thanks as you handed out plates.
Across the table, your children were mid-debate.
“No, no, you don’t get it,” Amelia, your ten-year-old daughter, argued, her small hands slamming the table for emphasis. “Papa’s the coolest. He’s strong, and smart, and everyone listens to him. I’m gonna be just like him!”
Lando smirked at that, leaning back in his chair. “Is that so, Amelia?”
“Yup!” She nodded confidently, her dark curls bouncing. “I’ll run the family business one day. Better than you, even.”
“Ambitious,” Lando said, raising his glass in mock salute. “I like it.”
Your eight-year-old son, Jacob, rolled his eyes. “You’re all so dramatic. Mama’s the best. She’s nice to everyone, and she doesn’t yell like Papa.”
Lando raised an eyebrow, feigning offense. “I don’t yell.”
“You yelled at Uncle Carlos last week,” Jacob pointed out.
“That was a strategic discussion,” Lando replied, struggling to keep a straight face.
You laughed, shaking your head as you returned to your seat. “Jacob’s right. You do yell.”
Amelia crossed her arms, glaring at her brother. “You’re too soft, Jacob. How are you supposed to run the business if you can’t even scare anyone?”
“I don’t want to run the business,” Jacob said matter-of-factly, stabbing his fork into his cake. “I’m going to be a veterinarian.”
“A vet?” Amelia wrinkled her nose. “That’s boring.”
“Amelia,” you chided gently. “It’s not boring if it’s what Jacob wants. Besides, being kind is just as important as being strong.”
Amelia huffed, but your words sank in.
Lando observed the exchange quietly, marveling at the balance you brought to their lives.
Later that evening, after the kids had gone to bed, you and Lando sat on the terrace overlooking the gardens. The night air was cool, and the stars were scattered across the sky like diamonds.
“She’s got your fire, that one,” you said, leaning against Lando’s shoulder.
“And he’s got your heart,” Lando replied, lacing his fingers with yours. “We’re raising a mini us, you know.”
You laughed softly. “Is that a good thing?”
Lando kissed the top of your head. “The best thing.”
For a moment, the world outside the villa—his world of deals, betrayals, and shadows—felt far away.
Here, with you, with his children, he was simply Lando. A man who had everything he’d ever wanted, and more than he thought he deserved.
As the staff cleared the dining room below, they whispered among themselves, as they always did.
About how Mr. Norris was terrifying, yes, but also fiercely devoted to his wife.
About how Madam Norris made their lives better with her warmth and generosity.
About how the children were growing into reflections of their parents—Amelia, bold and determined, and Jacob, gentle and kind.
It wasn’t a typical mafia family, no. But it was theirs. And that was more than enough.

“Under The Covers”
Tumblr media
Pairings: Central cee x black fem reader
Genre: fluff
Authors Note: it’s my first time writing on tumblr so bare with me I also haven’t haven’t written anything in like years I used to a Wattpad author in like 2017-2019😭 so imagine what I used to be writing. It’s not my best peice of work but it’s progress kinda messy icl in terms of storyline but it’s something anyways I hope everyone enjoys it 💗
You had just signed a contract with vogue for a new segment they were trying out for they’re YouTube channel called “Under the Covers”. It was in a podcast style in a bedroom setting hence the name and basically talking about the latest fashion trends tips or anything black girl related.
You were so grateful for this opportunity never in your life would you have imagine a little black girl from London was able to sign a massive deal with vogue. The topic of todays video was maintenance. How you maintain standards for yourself if that means relationship, mental or physical health. So instead of it being in their studio you wanted your video being a bit more homely so why not in your home. The producers had set everything up in your room making sure everything was ready for filming but this video was going to have a little extra twist. You were going to have your very first guest and they how they managed to maintain their life and overall humbleness with the fame he had gained over the years.
You kept your relationship on the down low on the respect of each other careers and not wanting to surround your relationship over it. You were actually calm with that but he wasn’t liking seeing people he fucked with in your dms with heart eyes.
Little did Yn know he was going to announce it in their video together.
“Okay I’m going to count down from 5 and we’ll start filming” said the producer

“Hi Vogue it’s me Yn/ln and welcome to our new segment called Under the covers where uncover beauty secrets fashion and every black girl related. But today’s video things are little different we’re in my actual bedroom and I have a special guest with us he’s one of my favourites rappers right now a current world wide sensation Central Cee”
“I didn’t know I was your favourite artist”
“Yes you did you’re also my most listened to artist on Spotify we’ve defo talked about this”
“Mhmmm”
You rolled your eyes and continued with the video
“Anyways let’s get straight into todays topic: maintenance. How to do maintain eye yourself to keep your life somewhat stable”
“I guess keeping my mum,my brothers, my fans and my girl happy innit. If they’re happy I’m happy” said central cee never straying away from eye contact from the love of his life
“And what you say is the hardest one to keep happy and why” Yn was very curious about this who knew where this could go
“My girl defo she’s says I’m annoying I think she hates me”
The way your head slowly snapped
“Did you not say at Amelia Dinner Date you like girls you hate you”
“Yh I did I turns me on but she’s just something Yk I’m just infatuated by her but maybe I’m a bit delusional when it comes to her yk idk if that’s a good thing or bad thing. Kinda new to this love thing and not messing up yk I don’t wanna get it wrong again I really like her”
That was probably the most beautiful thing he’s said in a while she didn’t know he felt like this she sometimes she can be a bit rude and her sarcasm can be taken the wrong way but she thought he knew between the lines that she didn’t hate him she lived more than anything.
“I think you should talk to her about your feeling more Yk. Don’t be shy on opening up more Yk. When you feel ready ask her what she thinks it’s possibly lacking” she smiled at him with reassurance hoping that he could through her eyes that’s it okay and she was listening
“Yh your right imma tell her right now!”
Yn chocked on her drink. He could not be serious. She should’ve known this boy was up to something
“As in right now!? I’m sure she’s busy” you said trying to get to him to change his mind
“Nah she’s not im calling her rn”
For someone who didn’t like interviews this but sure had a lot to say

Your phone was on the other side of the room Ringing none stop.
Everyone was looking at you. You knew the producers were loving this but you were not this was too much.

“Yn are you gonna pick up you phone”
you usually loved his smile but this was just devious.
“Do I have to” you were just dreading this
Everyone shouted yes. You rolled out bed and a grabbed the phone
“Hi baby”
“Hi cench, now can we get back to the video please”
“Yes Cench we can. You wanna cuddle too?”
//
The video was going well there was laughter within the whole room. You asked him the question that you were assigned to ask him everything was going great. You loved being under your lovers arms. Maybe letting people in wasn’t so bad.
“Thank you vogue for this absolutely-
A knock on the door you both looked at door and someone opened to little boy running in crying and jumping to Oakley’s arm. How many surprises could one video take you said to yourself in your head.
“What’s up little man” Oakley now went into full father mode his whole rapper persona was switched and all he cared about was understanding why his little boy was upset
“Had a bad dream” said the little one
“How about we say goodbye to vogue and make some hot chocolate” you said while trying to tickle him
“Right I think me and vogue has had enough surprises don’t forget to like subscribe and hit that notification and stay tuned for next weeks video about Motherhood and Careers with a icon mother and billionaire. Bye guys”

Second Chances (part 2)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: little poppy is simon riley’s entire world and you’ve just had yours turned completely upside down. despite everything, it seems like everything falls into place when you’re with each other. cw: mentions of character death a/n: i wanted to dive into Simon and Poppy's backstory with this part so reader isn't really present in this but, i felt like it was important to establish some backstory ☻ this slightly proofread, but forgive me if there are any mistakes wc: 1789 part 1
Tumblr media
Although his face doesn't show it, Simon is thrilled listening to Poppy talk his ear off on the walk home from school. He wouldn't dare admit he spent the whole day busying himself with household tasks to keep his mind from wandering to his little girl. As soon as they cross the threshold of their home Poppy is off like a shot, shrugging off her backpack and kicking off her black mary janes. Simon sighs fondly, hangs her backpack up on its hook, and deposits her shoes in their rightful spot on the shoe rack. One day he’ll get her to do it herself, but for now, he’s content with trailing after her and picking up every little thing she drops if it means she’ll always stay this young and innocent.
When he rounds the corner he’s met with the sight of Poppy scribbling on a large sheet of paper - her brand new box of crayons strewn across the living room table - and the sound of her favorite cartoon; which Simon finds mind-numbing but he grins and watches with her when she asks because he’ll be damned if he doesn't make her feel like the things she likes aren’t important to him.
“Whatcha working on there, lovie?” Simon asks with genuine curiosity, he hadn't expected her to come home with any work to do already. The young girl gestures to her crafts, “We’re making family trees at school, I’m a little bit stuck though daddy, I don't know who to put on the tree.” She pouts at him from her spot on the floor and Simon is hit with a wave of grief for the life his daughter could’ve had.
Six years ago
“Oh my god, Simon, are you even listening to me?!” Amelia snapped in Simon’s face as he zoned out on the couch. His body was firmly planted in their living room, but his mind wasn't. Pregnant. The word bounced around his brain like a pinball machine, he’s suddenly brought back to the present at the sound of his girlfriend's sobbing.
“God, I'm right in front of you and it’s like we're not even in the same room. I beg you time and time again to just be present with me, and you act like it’s so fucking hard.” Amelia hiccups and frustratedly wipes at her eyes, “if you don't want this tell me now, cause it’s hard enough feeling like you don't even love me, I can't imagine handling you not loving our child either.”
Simon turns sharply in her direction at her admission, he knows it’s rocky between them he’s no idiot, but to hear her say that he doesn’t love her, or wouldn't love their child fucking tears him up. He takes her hands in his, and tugs gently until she meets his eyes.
“Em, you have to know that I do love you, and hell I’m scared out of my mind right now, but god please don’t think for a second that I wouldn't love our child.” He pulls her into his arms and strokes her hair gently until her cries subside.
“I'm so scared Simon, you and I are not okay. What if that never changes?” Amelia asks somberly. She couldn't remember the last time she wasn't griping at Simon for something, or Simon giving her the silent treatment and storming off for hours at a time. She knew a baby wouldn't change that, hell it had been five years already and they still weren’t married. The wishful part of her hoped that Simon would say that he was going to change for good and that they would fix their relationship and become a happy family.
“We’ll figure it out, I promise yeah?” Simon had a way of looking at her like she was his world and for just a moment Amelia believed that everything would be okay.
Unsurprisingly things were not okay, Amelia woke in the middle of the night grasping her large bump in pain. She regrets her decision to make Simon sleep in the guest bedroom because now her options are to attempt to waddle and wake up her boyfriend? Baby daddy? Things were tense and she wasn't sure what they were anymore. The months she’s spent growing their little bundle of joy have been hellish; being pregnant exacerbated Amelia’s growing disdain for Simon and made every transgression seem far worse than ever before.
“God, Em, just let me do it. I don't need you hurting yourself.”
“Piss off Simon, I'm not a baby. I can handle building a crib by myself.”
Simon rolls his eyes but doesn't move from his spot in the doorway. Pretty much any conversation with his girlfriend was an argument waiting to happen. They both swore they would make it work, but it seemed like the longer time went on the more they were at each other’s throats.
Amelia braves the idea of trying to make it to Simon’s room when a contraction subsides. She trudged down the hallway to his room and pushed on his shoulder roughly to rouse him.
“Simon. Simon, wake up.”
“What do ya want,” he questions groggily, still half asleep.
“The baby’s fucking coming, get up. I'm dying in pain over here.”
He shoots up at her words, panic settling into his bones as he realizes that this is it. They were about to come home with a baby, they were seriously going to be parents. He smiles brightly at her in the dark room, only slightly lit by the moonlight because Simon still hadn't put up the curtains she asked him to. Amelia wanted to tell him to wipe the stupid grin off his face because she was pissy and in excruciating pain, but a part of her couldn't help but smile too. Maybe they would come home with their little bundle of joy and everything would be different.
~
The sound of small cries fills the hospital room and Simon is sure he’s never cried so hard in his life.
“Congratulations, it’s a girl,” the nurse says as she lays the tiny baby on Amelia's chest. She smiles down at their little girl, but it’s wobbly and the color is rapidly draining from her face. Before he could have a second to even bask in, what he’s sure is the best moment of his life, the sound of machines beeping erratically and the flurry of nurses surrounding Amelia has him paralyzed with fear.
The sterile smell of the hospital was burning his nostrils with every shaky breath he inhaled. They kept saying something about Amelia losing too much blood and that they needed to act fast and a million other things, but it felt as if his ears were filled with cotton and his head was trapped underwater. Simon’s heart was beating like a hummingbird trapped in a cage; he couldn't handle losing another person he loved. Why was it that everyone around him seemed to be viciously ripped from him?
Poppy, the name they had decided on just a few short days ago, was on the verge of having no mother and a grief-addled skeleton for a father. His lungs couldn’t hold enough air and suddenly he felt dizzy, he thought for a moment about what it would be like to let this day be his end too. But he then thought of his little girl growing up, traumatized from being abandoned as soon as she entered the world. Simon was not a man made of tears, but he found himself shedding them freely in the cold, hard hospital chairs as he waited to see if his entire world was about to come crashing down. He chides himself for all the arguments they had had recently, he can't even remember the last time he told Em that he loved her. He did love her, even if he wasn't able to love her the way she so desperately wanted him to.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, a doctor comes out where he’s sat, and he feels his throat constrict at the look on her face.
“Mr. Riley, we did everything we could…”
Whatever she says after doesn't even register because he feels like the room is spinning and he can't breathe and he's going to die he’s sure of it. What did he do to deserve the cards he had been dealt? How was he supposed to go home and take care of his daughter and act like he didn't have to plan on how he was going to bury her mother?
 Simon is hit with flashes of the future of all these he knows nothing about like periods, relationships, and all the things a little girl wants her mother for.
At that very moment, Simon had nothing but Poppy. He wanted to lock himself in his home and never face the light of day again, but he knew that for her, he needed to be her everything. And that meant, trudging through every painful, sinister day so she never feels anything short of loved irrevocably.
The shrill sound of Poppy crying has been Simon’s soundtrack for the better part of the day now. As if the small infant knows he’s inadequate, and most definitely not her mother, she wails loudly no matter what he does to soothe her.
Amelia would know what to do, she was always the type to have her nose buried in parenting books, and if Simon even had a moment's peace maybe he’d pick one up. That unfortunately meant going into her bedroom, not even their bed because they had been fighting and sleeping in separate rooms right before their daughter was born. The door at the end of the hall has been closed since he got home from the hospital a week ago. Every time he thinks he’s ready to brave the room, his stomach twists in knots so tight he has to remind himself he’s okay and that he’s alive.
Simon rocks his newborn gently in his arms as he sinks into the couch, sighing at the way he can still smell a hint of her mother’s perfume. He’d give anything to have Amelia ripping into him right now, just to hear the sound of her voice.
He looks down at Poppy, who magically has granted him a reprieve from her sobs, and smiles softly at her. “You look just like your mother, ya know that? You’ve got a bit of my ugly mug in there too, but your eyes? That’s all her.” The baby blinks up at him and Simon leans down and kisses the crown of her head gently. “It’s just gonna be you and I kid, but I promise I'll do my very best with ya.”

Summary : Today on Buzzfeed Unsolved, we look into the Murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne.
Tumblr media
“Today on Buzzfeed Unsolved, we’re digging into a rather famous case,” Ryan begins, a grin on his face. “Its actually a case I grew up hearing about, and one that I like to keep an eye on from time to time. So I was, very, excited to get permission to do this case.”
“Oh, is this what I think it is?” Shane questioned.
“You saw the file,” Ryan gave his friend a look.
“Yeah, but I wasn’t sure if it was a file or just a list of things you wanted to talk about if you ever got permission,” Shane protested. “I mean, you’ve brought this case up pretty frequently.”
“Yes, yes, that is definitely the case,” Ryan agreed, turning a giddy grin to the file. “Today, ladies and gentlemen, we’re looking at the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne.”
“This is going to be interesting,” Shane clapped.
“Was that sarcastic?”
“No.”
“It felt sarcastic.”
“Eh…maybe a little. You do go on and on about this case.”
“Yeah, but only, like, vague details.”
“Sure. Vague.”
Ryan shot Shane a look, to which Shane stared right back with a flat look. After a moment, Ryan turned away and flipped over the file.
“Shall we begin?”
“Yeah, of course,” Shane motioned with a flippant wave of his hand. “Let’s begin!”
A giddy grin filled Ryan’s face as he turned to the case file.
“On June 26th, at 10:47 pm, the world lost two of the kindest rich people anyone could have met. But first, let’s get a bit into their background. Doctor Thomas Wayne-”
“Wait. Doctor? Thomas Wayne was a Doctor?”
“Yeah! I was getting there! Let me get there!”
“Okay. Okay. You’ve just never mentioned he was a doctor, before.”
“I told you, you didn’t know everything. There’s a lot about this family I haven’t mentioned.”
“Well now I’m intrigued.”
“Doctor Thomas Wayne was born the son of Patrick Wayne and Laura Elizabeth Wayne. This made Thomas Wayne one of the last living descendants of the Five Families of Gotham.”
“Five Families.”
“Yeah…I…don’t know why I included that.”
“You weren’t going to explain?”
“I am now.”
“The Five Families of Gotham are the Crowne Family, which died out years ago with Amelia Crowne, though their of rumors of an illegitimate child. Maybe we’ll do that another time. The Cobblepot family, and we all know what happened to that family. The Elliots, Kanes, and Waynes. These Five Families are credited to helping build Gotham.”
“Doctor Thomas Wayne dedicated his time to his medical studies, his family company, to helping the Glades, and to his family. Doctor Thomas Wayne was originally not the inheritor of the Wayne fortune as he was the youngest child of the Waynes. But Philip Wayne died in Afghanistan, and Agatha Wayne renounced her family name when she married into the Carson family. Doctor Thomas Wayne, with a full medical degree, and a budding physician having started a free clinic in Park Row, found himself the inheritor of a multi-million dollar company.”
“Park Row?”
“Better known as Crime Alley.”
“Oh! Wait…it’s name isn’t actually Crime Alley?”
“Yeah, surprising, right?
“Martha Wayne was born into another Founding Family. The Kane Family. Her family history, of course, is a little rockier in the public eye than most of the world’s wealthy would prefer. Nathan Kane married a woman named Kathy Webb and was disowned, losing his grasp of the inheritance. Philip Kane is the inheritor, and the line might just die out with him. Jacob Kane lost his first wife and one of his daughters, remarried, and became an army general. Arthur Kane is recluse and not staying with his family. Martha Wayne seemed to break out.”
“Good for her.”
“Wow.”
“What?”
“You just seem pretty on board with that.”
“Well, yeah. I like history.”
“What does that have to do with anything?”
“A lot.”
“You’re not…you’re not…going to…elaborate?”
“Nope! That’s an entirely different video.”
“Oh…kay.”
“Martha Wayne married Doctor Thomas Wayne as one of many acts of rebellion. Martha’s mother didn’t approve of the marriage at all, and even threatened to disown Martha. Martha’s other most notable act of rebellion was to become a social worker.”
“I like this couple more and more.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. Here are two people. Helping others.”
“That they did.”
“Most people with money would just… throw it on junk. Not them. They seem like good people.”
“Later, Doctor Wayne and Martha welcomed a son into the world. Bruce Thomas Wayne. Then, eight years later, while taking their son to a movie in Park Row, a man stepped out of the shadows. As told by the account of Bruce Wayne, the only surviving witness, the mysterious man demanded their money and Martha’s pearls. However, the two barely had a chance to grab said items before the first bullet was fired. Thomas Wayne died almost immediately with that first shot. Martha moved to grab her son, but that was when the second shot was fired, and she, too, died almost instantly, according to police reports. A couple hours later, the police arrived.”
“That poor kid.”
“Yeah, I know. He was with his parents for a couple hours.”
“His parents just died, and he’s probably sitting there, begging them to wake up. And no one is there to help. That’s…that’s terrible. I’m surprised the guy wasn’t more messed up.”
“You could probably argue he was a little messed up.”
“Really?”
“Well, he did disappear for a few years, then reappear acting like a, you know, a floozy rich guy.”
“What?”
“Maybe we’ll cover that another time, too. But, long story short, Bruce applied to the FBI, got in, then quit the FBI, disappeared, and came back as a generous, but perky rich playboy.”
“That…that’s…”
“Now that we’ve talked about the Waynes and their murder. Let’s talk about why this case is unsolved and then get into a few theories. To begin, the Wayne Murder case was never solved. Mainly because the only living witness besides the killer, was Bruce Wayne, an eight year old boy who was left beside his parents bodies for hours. The shock definitely kicked in, and because of how dark it was, Bruce was unable to see the man’s face.”
“Of course a traumatized boy wouldn’t be able to identify his parents’ killer! What the heck do people expect!”
“Yeah…not the GCPD’s finest moment.”
“The First theory is that the Falcone Family did the hit.”
(Wheeze) “A mob hit?”
“Yeah, we definitely don’t get those all that often, do we?”
“We never get those!”
“This theory actually has some weight. It’s rumored that Thomas Wayne was actually a close friend of Francesco Falcone. A bond that formed when Thomas Wayne supposedly saved Francesco Falcone’s life during a mob hit. It’s also rumored that Thomas and Martha met at one of Francesco Falcone’s parties.”
(Cackling!)
“What?”
“If this theory is true, then my respect for Martha Wayne has skyrocketed! That woman was a rebel!”
“Really? After everything I just said, that’s what you want to go with.”
“The Kanes were jerks. I’m allowed to be proud of the woman.”
“However, its also noted that at some point, Thomas and Falcone stopped talking to each other. Their friendship supposedly fell apart, and if they left on bad terms, its possible that the Falcone family ordered the hit. However, unless the GCPD is covering it up, there is no proof behind this theory, nor is there much proof that Thomas and Falcone ever actually had a friendship other than a few pictures of the two at parties. And, if you know nothing about Gotham, you should know that Gang Leaders mixing with the Elites is…pretty common.”
“Too common.”
“Way too common.”
“But, I’ll be honest, I’m not sure this theory has too much weight.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. I mean, think about it. Saving someone’s life is…a pretty serious debt. Like, a life for a life debt, except you save it. If Doctor Thomas really saved Falcone, then the betrayal had to be dead awful for him to turn like that.”
“That’s…that’s a good point. We’ll put that theory on hold, then.”
“The second theory is that the Court Of Owls planned the hit.”
“The Court of Owls?”
“Yeah. You heard of them?”
“Yeah, I’ve heard of them. If you had mentioned this, before, I might have been way more interested in this case.”
“Wow, I had no idea you were so excited about this.”
“It’s history, Ryan! Of course I’m excited about it!”
“You realize this is Gotham’s biggest Ghost Story, right?”
“Of course. But I also know the history around it.”
“The Court of Owls are a long standing legend in Gotham. The rumors claim that the court is comprised of Elites, supposedly related to the Crowne family. According to legend, the Court recruits elites into their system, and they recruit civilians to be assassins. These assassins kill those that oppose the Court.”
“That was a rough version of the Court of Owls. Not bad.”
“Thank. But now I’m curious to know what you know.”
“Maybe another time. Its too long to go into.”
“It’s believed that Thomas and Martha Wayne opposed the Court of Owls, and because of this, they were killed by a Talon.”
“I’d agree with that...”
“Really?”
“Yeah. Yeah, I would. If ever there was a conspiracy theory I’d believe, it’s the existance of the Court of Owls. The history is fascinating.”
“Wow, I guess we…really need to do a history lesson on the Court of Owls.”
“The only thing that I think is a little sketchy is the fact that they…left Bruce Wayne alive.”
“Oh?”
“It’s not their style. Unless Bruce Wayne agreed to join the Court. But…given his charities and stuff, I doubt it.”
“Huh. I guess that’s fair.”
“The third theory…”
“What?”
“You’re gonna hate this?”
“Don’t say aliens.”
“Nope. Not aliens.”
“The third theory is that Thomas and Martha Wayne were murdered by a ghost.”
“No.”
“Oh, yes!”
“Ryan. No!”
“The Wayne family went through Park Row, a place well known as Crime Alley. There are a number of Crimes that happen there in a day, so its no wonder a large population believe the mysterious killer that was never caught and never seen was that of a ghost who lost his life in a mugging attempt where he failed.”
“The Court of Owls theory holds more weight than this.”
(Cackling)
“You know what, I can and will deny this theory. Forget this theory.”
“How does this hold less weight than the Court of Owls.”
“I need to give you a history lesson.”
“The fourth theory is that it was an inside job done by the GCPD. Due to the fact that the guy was never caught, and the history of police corruption, its not surprising that this was a theory that popped up. In fact, up until Jim Gordon became Commissioner, many cases in Gotham like this one were swept under the rug.”
“Good old Jim Gordon.”
“He was on this case, actually.”
“He was?”
“Yep. In fact, it’s rumored that this particular case was what led Gordon to turn the GCPD around. And he’s supposedly still close to Bruce Wayne.”
“Really?”
“His daughter dated Bruce’s oldest son.”
“Nice.”
“With all these theories, there still isn’t any clear answer as to who killed Thomas and Martha Wayne. And that leaves this particular case…Unsolved.”
“They don’t deserve that,” Shane sighed.
“Yeah, they seemed like genuinely good people for rich people,” Ryan agreed with a nod. “What do you think happened?”
Shane winced, scratching the back of his head. “Right. I like the Court of Owls theory, but…I think it was a rando mugging.”
“Then…then how do you explain the lack of a suspect?”
“Police corruption. The Waynes were trying to turn Gotham around. A few corrupt cops just…swept it under the rug.”
“That’s…” Ryan froze, looking down at his files. “That’s actually not a bad theory. Why didn’t anyone use that theory.”
“Maybe they’re not supposed to.”
“That’s terrifying. Absolutely terrifying.”
... .... .... ..... .... .... .... ....
“ This is...”
Jason paused, sending a look towards his younger brother.
“Genius?” Tim gave a sharp, Cheshire grin.
“Definitely,” Jason grinned back. “What exactly did you give them permission to do?”
“You’ll have to wait and see.”

Brock was pissed, it had been almost a year and there still had been no sign of Y/n nor James anywhere, and while Andy now seemingly was in control of her business, he couldn’t hold New York by the balls the way Y/n used to, so Brock turned his anger into an advantage. His substance had been selling like crazy around New York and it was only a matter of time when Y/n would find out he’d began spreading it on to her territory, and it was also only a matter of time for her to find out, he was so close to finding her and James, he just had to wait a little longer.
Meanwhile, Y/n and Bucky, had been living in Romania, Bucky’s memory had been coming back little by little. As for Y/n she was still the control freak as ever, still controlled what she could from a computer, halfway across the world, even with her patrooting stomach that made it annoyingly hard to use her computer. She rested her head against the couch cushion, with a sigh of slight irritation. Bucky came up from behind, telling from the way her face was scratched something was wrong. “What's going on?” He asked me to sit beside her.
“First lil’ bean is driving me insane, they're moving a lot and I can barely see over my stomach, and work stuff, Brock is dealing on my streets, and he is still looking for me.” She stressed.
“We’re fine and safe, shouldn’t that be all that matters?” He tilts his head.
Y/n’s lips pulled up slightly. “If only it were that simple, I don’t just take care of only you I and our kids with what I do, I take care of my men’s families, I take care of all of the people in my territory, and if I let whatever shit get out, then look what happens, shure New York’s filled with druggies, and people on the stress, but when theres and out break it gets ten times worse for both populations.” She explained what other extra duties she had as a leader in the mob. “That’s why they respect me and fear me, because I could take it all away in a knight from someone, but I also made things better after Henry died, I helped a lot of people, get better, from pills and other crap.”
Bucky nodded, now understanding the importance of what she had done back home. “All I can say is don’t stress too much.” He put his hand over hers that was resting on her stomach, he smiled softly, she closed the laptop.
Bucky and Y/n both stood in the kitchen listening to music that fit both of their tastes, the made a meal fit for kings, or a mechanic and his pregnant mob boss wife. Bucky could tell the difference between now and the begging of their relationship, now she was comfortable enough to wear tank tops and really anything that showed any scar she’d gained in the past, sometimes, Bucky would ask about who she got each one, she could recite the story as if it happened yesterday, yet no emotion held in her voice, and then she’d acted as if she never said anything. He couldn’t understand how she did it.
As they both laid in bed, Bucky’s arms naturally found a way on Y/n. “If you stay relaxed, the sooner bean will be here, and the sooner bean is here, the sooner we get to make another little mean and another.” He smiled, as he held her closely to him.
“I’ll try but no promises.” She smiled to herself, as her eyes closed, Bucky soon followed suit, shutting off the lamp that was on his night stand.
Bucky rolled around to find his wife once again in the night as he slept, but soon was awoken by the cold silky sheets. He shot up, looking around the room, finding no sign of her he got up to find her.
Y/n paced in the office that used to be Bucky’s dads, when he was a kid. She spoke in a demanding harsh whisper, at whatever unfortunate soul. “We’ve got to figure this out, I-we can’t move places at the moment Andy.” She huffed, clearly her anxiety raised, along with anger. “Why? That’s not your business at the moment, I don’t know if he has the phone tapped. Throw him off or something. He can’t find us not right now, bye Andy.” She slumped into the chair behind the desk, sweat appearing on her forehead, her breath picked up slightly.
Bucky came up, taking her hand in his. “It’s gonna be alright.”
“Brock knows where we are, and I don’t think that we can leave at the moment because I am nine months pregnant, and soon enough I could give birth.” Y/n explained.
“He can’t access the island with anything other than a boat, we're fine.” Bucky reassured her. She nodded, knowing she could be overthinking this. “Let’s get back to bed.”
As a week passed, and then half of another, she started to think that she had been wrong. As they both had been getting ready for bed, the power cut out, Y/n and Bucky looked around in confusion as they stood in the bathroom, Y/n put her tooth brush back in the holder, and she moved into their room, Bucky was right with her. “Maybe a line went out.”
“Nope, just me.” Y/n’s eyes whipped to the corner by the closet, Brock stood in the shadows, his hands in front of him with a pistol in one. Bucky tries to flick on the lights, when they turn on, they know someone else is there, all of them looking at each other, Brock’s jaw clenches visibly, when he finally takes in all of Y/n. “You could have had a good life with your husband and kid, why are you causing more trouble than it’s worth.”
“Because you would kill more than you would ever help with whatever that shit is.” She hissed at him.
Brock lifted his gun focusing on her chest, she had no way to defend herself, ironically the one time she didn’t carry her gun, so what else could she do but welcome death as an old friend hoping Bucky could at least leave. As the gun went off she prepared for the bullet, but it didn’t come so she opened her eyes looking around. “Get out!” She looked to where the voice came from, Bucky who was lying on the floor with a bullet in his chest and stomach. “Leave Y/n!” He said the best he could.
Her leg’s moved before her mind, all she could see was Bucky there on the floor bleeding out, the pair of guards that stayed on the island met her down stairs. “Where’s Mr. Barnes?” One of them asked, she just shook her head. “Take her to the mainland. I’m going to go up there.”
The second guard came up to her, leading her out to the doc, she struggled to collect herself as they ran, when they got to the doc with a boat at the end, the guard helped Y/n on. “Y/n!” Brock Yelled form not too far from them.
“Go, get to the Airport, and go home, or somewhere safe.” The guard told her, as he Started the boat before getting off quickly. The boat moved quickly on the water, Y/n waited to doc on the mainland, her face wet from tears as she docked and then got a taxi. She had no clue what was supposed to happen after this, she should have died.
When Y/n got on the first plane to New York, she immediately messaged Andy, wanting to have someone go back and get Bucky, maybe even they’d be able to save him. When she got back to New York, Andy had replied that he was right on it. As she took a private car back to her house, she felt empty like part of herself was missing. As she walked the path she had so many times, she slowly realized that this wasn’t home, at all. She walked into the house that gave her a pit in her stomach. Andy stood along with all of her men, all meant respect but she wanted to be alone, her jaw clenched, she still wore a nightgown that made her stomach stand out.  “Everyone except Andy, leave.” Her voice turned cold and stern.
Andy stayed behind like told as all the other men filtered out. “See what you meant by you didn’t want to leave, now.”
“Is he okay?” Her voice sounded desperate, and had a yearning interlaced.
Andy’s shoulders tensed. “He, along with Brock and his men, weren’t there when they got to the island, Y/n, I’m sorry.”
She just nodded. “Go figure out what's next, I'm staying in New York, until this finishes up.”
“What if-”
“I don’t care I’ll kill Brock Rumlow if that’s the last thing I do, even with my baby in my stomach, he killed my husband, I’m taking every part of his legacy possible, by the time this finishes, no one will even remember his name.” She spoke with passionate rage. “Go get me my information Andy.” She stood giving him a stern look, before he left.

Javi x Amelia for ships 👀
What is this a joke 😭 I just know this essay is gonna get out of hand asdfghjkasdfghfds
OKAY SO I’m gonna try keeping other ships out of this, so it’s only just taking about Javelia
If you know me, you know I’m OBSESSED with this ship. This one ship that just takes my world by storm because of how badly I got obsessed with it. I don’t even know how it happened.
Tumblr media
So you see, we see Amelia and Javi meet for the first time at Buzzblast. That is where the story begins. The “nice harmonica, catchy tune” line— and BOOM! Instant attraction. I believe Amelia saw him as a friend, initially, but she really did care for him— “best friend” even, maybe. But nothing more than that.
Javi, on the other hand, got OBSESSED. Not the bad kind, but the “I think I have a crush on you.” Obsessed. We see him teasing her, we see him showing up in places with her, we see them AS COWORKERS— they’re literally Co-workers OH MY GAWD— and we see them as rangers and as friends.
Javi supports her in her ghost hunting, he never pulls her down. She and Javi have a “we’re both made fun of because of what we like to do” kinda bond, Javi with his music, and his father not letting him live it down, and Amelia with Ollie criticising her every move. They support each other, Amelia acts like the #1 fan of Javi’s music and Javi is always ready for helping her hunt ghosts— he makes a fucking theme song for her ghost hunting programme!!!!! They have a “at least I got you in my corner” vibe to them that drew me to their ship in the first place. This kinda support, this kinda FRIENDSHIP. WHERE DO YOU FIND THAT!!!!
But BUT we see Javi showing the “more than friends” signs, and we see Amelia friendzoning him. If you notice, Javi stops showing the signs after she starts dating Ollie. There is just one??? Two?? Scenes??? Of them??? In the last couple episodes of DF— BECAUSE of what I believe, Javi respectfully abandoning his chase, like Theo did, as I mentioned in the Theo/Lily post— when he realises that Amelia’s affections lie somewhere else.
BUT THEN WE COME TO COSMIC FURY. We come to Amelia’s heartbreak, and we SEE Javi being there for her like no other member of the team is!!!!!! Because you see, Solon and Billy were making the morphers, Aiyon was busy @ Zayto, either looking/worrying for him, or with him. Izzy was with Fern. THESE TWO. HAD NOBODY ELSE. Only each other. And I believe, the bond forged in forced intimacy is the greatest bond of all, because it reminds you of the trauma you’ve suffered, and all of the things you went through together.
Amelia was hurt. Javi was injured. And Ollie was evil. The situation works out with such perfection, that when Amelia takes the role of The Red Ranger, JAVI, automatically, becomes her second in command. Now we all know how much I like the Leader x Second in command trope. Javi pitches ideas, he follows behind her, he acts as THE support system a leader needs in case things go awry.
But that’s not where this ends, you see? Because feelings MIGHT develop between them during all of this, but Amelia still has a boyfriend(?). Javi is still “that dorky friend” of hers in her mind.
THAT changes when he loses his arm. She gets respect for him, because all of Dino fury, Javi was just the “sexy lamp” of the team, the guy who crushed on Amelia, and “Izzy’s brother.” He did not have a proper standing of his own, but the way he goes out of the way to sacrifice himself? That opens a new avenue of his personality TO HER. It makes HER realise that “oh my god, I’ve been looking at a diamond in the rough, this entire time.” Because sacrificing yourself isn’t easy. Offering yourself for sacrifice TWICE?
Yes. Yes, that’s the turning point of Javi and Amelia’s relationship. The moment in episode 9, when Javi chooses to sacrifice himself, ONCE AGAIN. When he tells her, in episode 10, that he made it through once, he can do it again? And she looks at him with that “but at what cost, Javi?” And he laughs and tells her he’ll be okay? THAT WORRY IN HER EYES?!! THAT EXPRESSION THAT SMILE?!!? That was the moment Amelia realised she had not only fallen for him, but that she had fallen SO HARD. That she not only “loved him”, now, she also respected him more than she had EVER respected him in the past.
I feel like that RESPECT formed the basis of their bond after that. That they probably never went back to being “just friends.” Because while Javi had respectfully abandoned his chase, Amelia realised she could not let him go. He wasn’t someone she could EVER let go. All because of the way he had acted when things went awry.
While she stepped up to take the leadership of the team, he stepped up to offer himself for the taking. THAT forged their bond harder than steel. They were never going back.
I still feel like after cosmic fury, it takes them a little time to figure out their feelings, but eventually, they do. The love and worry Amelia’s eyes spoke no lies at that moment, and Javi too saw it. ONCE AGAIN ITERATING the Hindi dub made Javi say HE WAS *hER* JAVI
So yes, Tl;dr, they started out as friends, but situations made themselves so that they could not remain friends. They fell in love. Their love was too strong.
I SHIP IT OKAY 😭😭😭 They’re my #1 OTP.
Tumblr media
LOOK AT THAT SMILE. Is that how friends look at friends?!!???!!?
Send me a ship and I will explain why I do or don't ship it

'Before I saw the Barbie movie, I was resolutely against ever seeing the Barbie movie. Despite the fact that as a child I loved Barbie, who I interviewed regularly for important radio segments in her coral peach ball gown, I decided that the last thing I needed was 90 neon-coloured-Margot-Robbie-filled minutes of a film which would obviously have nothing new to offer me; a grown-up feminist woman who stopped idealising the problematic Barbie aesthetic decades ago.
But then the reviews from angry men started rolling in. You only had to be vaguely near the internet after Barbie’s release to hear the resounding roars of the mostly middle-aged; outraged that such an abomination against “all men” could even be allowed to exist. The reviews began to read like dreamy promotional soundbites: “An alienating, dangerous and perverse film”, “They won’t be happy until we are all gay”.
These men were really, really wound up about this film. They loathed it. They were spitting fury at Greta Gerwig for creating a piece of such obvious, glaring, “anti-men, feminist propaganda”.
And so, when I was asked by one of my teenage children if I would be up for a day of “Barbenheimer”, I said “yes”: newly salivating at the potential of a project that could cause this much delicious backlash.
I decided I would swallow my aversion towards sustained exposure to powder pink, get Barbie watched, then chase it all away with a good dose of brooding grey, historically accurate cinema. Despite the promise of those furious reviews, I still expected to enter and exit the cinema despising Barbie and in awe of Oppenheimer.
During the five hours of media and popcorn consumption that followed, a chain reaction set in motion that left me changed. It made the vitriolic reviews of Barbie, calling Greta Gerwig’s masterpiece “anti-men”, even more comical. The irony was bright and clear to me: Oppenheimer is anti-women.
And the thing is that Oppenheimer is not different to most films. Because most films are anti-women.
We just don’t take to the internet to rage about it because we’re used to it; desensitised by the decades of cinematic women who exist only to paint their lips red, bare their breasts and give the important male protagonists something to play with.
Is Barbie anti-men? Oh, I hope so (it isn’t, it’s anti-patriarchy), but also, frankly, I don’t care. Because if it is – after decades of movies made by male directors like Oppenheimer’s Christopher Nolan, it has good reason to be.
And it does what it so brilliantly does within the sparkly, imaginary bubble of an entirely fictional world where the male characters it side-lines are literally plastic dolls, all called Ken (except Alan); fake toys who simply can’t even breathe. Anti-women films like Oppenheimer on the other hand, sideline or completely erase very real, flesh-and-blood women who lived whole lives and made significant contributions to our world.
So, if you’re a man who has watched Barbie and felt angry or irritated or just plain strange while watching the depiction and treatment of the Kens – then welcome to cinema. That is what it feels like to be a woman watching Hollywood movies most of the time.
But here’s the thing – that poor Ken doll you’re lamenting over, is not Leona Woods; who at 23 was one of the youngest female scientists the Manhattan project employed. Ken, unlike Leona, was not present at the first nuclear chain reaction and Ken did not have to do what Leona did – which was to conceal her pregnancy until two days before her baby was born. Ken is also not Elizabeth Graves; a scientist entirely essential to the project’s success who was completing an experiment when she went into labour and did not stop the experiment until it was finished, timing her contractions with a stopwatch. Let’s see Christopher Nolan make a three-hour-long film about that.
Neither Woods nor Graves feature in Oppenheimer, which, like so many anti-women films, manages to assume such an air of authority that it can leave us assuming that its astounding lack of female representation must be down to its admirable commitment to historical accuracy. I’ve heard the cries – “It is called Oppenheimer after all. How much do you expect it to worry about its women?” And perhaps it’s true – you can’t very well expect a film about the very intelligent physicists who tackled the science behind creating the atomic bomb to change facts just for representation can you?
No. But you can and should expect such a film to accurately and fairly represent the female scientists who were, in fact, right there – alongside Oppenheimer and his men, ensuring the Manhattan Project’s success. Perhaps it might have been appropriate if viewers left the three-hour epic clear in the knowledge that Kitty Oppenheimer didn’t only drink herself to distraction while taking care of screaming children and dropping a hip flask out of her handbag at every possible moment; she was also a trained botanist who was employed at Los Alamos to take blood and test the levels of radiation exposure of her colleagues.
More than 600 women worked on the Manhattan Project at Los Alamos alone, yet the only female scientist given any recognition in Nolan’s world is Lilli Hornig, who speaks only briefly, mostly in opposition to the bomb’s use. And what about Charlotte Serber? Who Nolan depicts as Oppenheimer’s secretary, completely erasing her vital work as scientific librarian for the project’s “secret library” and who, with no formal training, became the only female group leader, overseeing a staff of 12 people while also risking her safety in counter-espionage efforts.
Oppenheimer doesn’t only fail the Bechdel test, it fails to represent the real women who contributed so significantly to that morally fraught turning point in history. Those women were physicists, engineers, chemists, mathematicians. They existed. And, as is so often the case, many of their achievements have been forgotten and remain unrecognised, by both history and cinema.
As I continue to emerge from my Barbenheimer experience, researching the lost women of the Manhattan project and occasionally still basking in the disgust of all those angry men who need to hate the work of art that is Barbie, it becomes ever clearer: anti-women is the benchmark of mainstream filmmaking and some people are simply unable to deal with the plastic Manolo Blahnik being on the other foot.'

I came here to rant, because I feel like you are one of those authors who never follows the pattern
I have realized, in all my years of reading fanfics, that all the reader’s personalities often match stereotypical personalities of the people who is into a certain fandom/activity, as an example the HP fandom, especially the Marauders Era
They always portrayed the reader into 2 distinctive categories, as the typical “I’m not the same as other girls”:
1. The tomboyish rambunctious all over the place, play quidditch, likes pranks and is loud type of girl
2. The I’m soft, quiet as a mouse, only hangs with Regulus and is extremely shy to the point of mysteriousness
And I feel like this is just the tip of the iceberg, however the pattern is too clear, even more if you add the Male Love Interest:
Like as for James, the comparison will always be the femininity Lily represents, NOT too loud or over the place, loves make up but she still top of her class
As for someone like the Slytherin boys, specially when the trope involves Draco, you will see the comparison between a poised, strong and harsh pure blood reader to a more fun and extroverted, still mature Hermione
The whole “race to get the boy” feels somewhat wrong, cus in an imaginary world where we are living in fanfic land, my fellow girlies SHOULD NOT be my enemies, nor in real life
At the end of the day we all are like the other girls, all of those girls we had ever loved before
Hmmm yeah, I agree with what you mean about not being in competition with other girls; I’ve written a few fics where there’s been a romantic interest that has caused problems (sorry to Amelia Bones and Emmeline Vance who have been my scape goats, they’re the real MVP’s and I love them long time), but generally I try to stay away from bashing cuz, as you said, we’re just girls 🫶 hehe - our fellow fems are not the enemy
It’s hard to write reader inserts with a ton of characteristics though; it’s a very, very delicate balance and Mae and I talk about it alllll the time. Because you want it to be open and vague enough that as many people as possible can see themselves in the character without leaving the reader feeling vacant and hollow, or like they’re playing a background role in their own story. The reader still needs to have some personality, and they still need to have motives and flaws, without assigning characteristics to them. It’s difficult. And unfortunately we’re not all going to see 100% of ourselves in the reader (or 100% of the readers in ourselves).

The Cardinal and the Seamstress
The next chapter is here, folks! I had fun while writing this, hopefully you enjoy reading it.

I hope you enjoy! I have been listening to "The Walk Home" by Young the Giant while writing this. I feel like it's a fitting song for this story. Give it a listen! Either the studio version or the acoustic version is great.
Pairing: (dracopia) Cardinal Copia x OC
Warnings: suggestive dialogue
Words: 2.5k
Chapter 2 - Quite a Scene? Wasn't it?

The following two days after the Cardinal’s measurements were taken are spent sketching, cutting paper, and working on mockups for Copia’s new show wardrobe. After the pattern pieces are drawn, Sarah gets started on cutting the mockups. She’s tasked with sewing the pants while Amelia tackles the jacket. In a couple more days Copia will come back for another fitting. In the words of Amelia, these costumes need to be ‘perfect for even the Olde One’s taste.’ We’re going to be here a while; Sarah thinks to herself. There still hasn’t been word of the new Ghost frontman. Siblings whisper in the hallways and at meal times with each other on who they think the next man up will be.
All day Sarah toils away at the contoured seams of his pants. Since learning of Copia’s condition, her dreams have become infiltrated with the image of a sharp-toothed Cardinal Copia. He hasn’t been able to leave her mind, she finds herself drifting off at the machine from time to time. So many questions run through her head.
It can’t be a crush. I’ve barely spoken with him! Sarah tries to rationalize is all. I’m just… curious. Curious about the whole thing. How often do you meet a real, live, well not live, vampire? In her stupor she manages to get through the line of stitching without jamming her finger under the needle. The actual stitching, however. “Oh damn. Where did I put my seam ripper?”
She saw him in the hallways while walking back to the studio after lunch on the day before the first fitting. Their eyes met and they stopped to chat while in the middle of the hall.
“Good afternoon, Cardinal.” Sarah said.
“Good afternoon, sorella. I hope Sister Amelia hasn’t been working you too hard on the new suits?” Copia looks into her eyes sincerely.
“Oh, are you familiar with “The Gauntlet?” Cardinal?” She chuckles.
Copia’s eyebrows raise. “Ehe I haven’t ever heard it put in that.. particular way but I’ve heard that new assistants tend to be put through the ringer. “
“The ringer, the gauntlet, either way, I feel like I’m doing fine for now, ha!” She shifts her feet a couple times. “Only time will tell.” Subject change, now! “So Cardinal, I heard that you are uh… Uh.”
Copia’s eyes find someone in the distance. “Oh, I’m late for a meeting sorella. Mi dispiace.” He begins to walk past her but stops to turn around to look back at Sarah. “We should continue our talk, still? Sometime later.”
“Yes! That sounds great.” And with that, hes gone. Why am I being so weird?
The morning of the first fitting, Sarah wakes up with a bundle of anxiety in her stomach. She keeps dreaming of Copia. He’s invaded her thoughts in both the dreaming and waking world now. While Sarah is getting ready for the day, the only thing on her mind is hoping the pants she made don’t burst at the seams when Copia moves around. Amelia’s new concept is a very new and bold step forward. The door to the studio is already unlocked, Amelia the likely answer. Amelia looks up from the ironing board as Sarah walks in.
“Sarah! Are you excited? It’s the first fitting! I always get a bit giddy, like a kid on Christmas.” She sets down her iron to move the garment around. “Except, instead of unwrapping something, I get to wrap someone up!” She clasps her hands together and grins.
It’s infectious and Sarah smiles in return. Some of her anxieties melt away in genuine excitement. She’s right. Sarah always found joy in seeing the look on someone’s face when she would make something for them. It would feel so rewarding to see them strut around in the thing she made! It’s like the physical manifestation of caring about someone.
Tumblr media
Copia is a couple minutes from reaching the sewing studio but his mind is elsewhere. He wonders when the rest of the clergy will find out about Copia and the Ghost project. Will the siblings approve? Papa Terzo was well loved, maybe too well loved, amongst the Siblings of Sin. Would they feel the same about Copia?
The fitting is under way, about 30 minutes in, when the old devil himself walks into the room.
“My sweet Sisters! Cardinale! How is everyone doing this morning!” Terzo asks. There is a chorus of ‘hello Papa’s back to him as he enters the room. “Oh! A new suit, Copia? Any special reason?” he asks.
Copia’s face jerks to Amelia and Sarah. A silent plea for help in his eyes.
“Papa,” Amelia starts. “Is there ever a reason? Change is… inevitable.”
Terzo notices Copia’s deer-in-headlights look and holds up his hands in mock surrender. “I kid! I know about the Cardinal and the Ghost project. It was my idea for the dramatic exit.” Terzo has a cheshire-like smile
The sounds of a collective sigh falls over the room.
“Oh, thank Lucifer for that!” Amelia turns to Copia. “Cardinal, please to put on the pants Sarah put together in your dressing room. It’s the last thing I need to see for the day.”
Copia nods and walks off to change. The sounds of the curtain swinging open then closed. A few minutes pass in silence then he calls from behind the curtain. “Sister… per favore, did you give me the wrong pants by any chance?”
Sarah’s head pops up and Amelia walks over to the changing area and goes to open the curtain. Copia fumbles in front of her to prevent it from revealing himself. “Copia! Cardinal! Let me-“
Copia is struggling in vain to keep his privacy. “Please pay no attention to the vampire behind the curtain!” He screams.
Sarah watches on in horror. Her hands cover her face.
Copia walks out from behind the curtain to see Amelia, Sarah and Papa Terzo staring at him. “I could zip them up but they are uh… a bit tight. I don’t think I’ll be able to wear underwear in these.”
Sathanas, you can see everything.
“Oh Sarah, you should be proud. The ritual attendees are going to eat him up!” Terzo turns to her. He strides over to Amelia and takes her hand. “Bella why couldn’t you have made anything like this for me for my shows? They are… inspired.” He waves his hand around.
Amelia rolls her eyes. “Oh please! We both wouldn’t have lasted 10 minutes into a fitting.” She walks forward to inspect the mockup but Terzo follows after her. “Copia, could you walk around and see how the pants feel on?”
Terzo scoffs. “Cara, I wouldn’t even need 10 minutes! It would take me less than 5 before I would’ve had you ripping them off me.” Terzo gives her an eyebrow wiggle.
“I’m trying to focus here, Terzo. Papa. And if you don’t stop right now, I will shove some scrap fabric into your mouth and tie you up with my tape measure! Then I might actually be able do my job.”
“Amore! Don’t threaten me with a good time.” Terzo smiles wide.
 Sarah looks to the Cardinal with wide eyes, they both share a look across the room.
Amelia sighs at Terzo. “Oh, look what you’ve done. You’ve scared the children”
Copia turns around but is now facing the mirror, the mirror that is showing his reflection back. There’s more frantic turning and he eventually stops. Copia looks up in frustration. He breathes a silent “shit.”
“Mi dispiace. I will leave you now so you can get back to your hard” he looks at Copia. “work.” He looks back to Amelia.
After Papa leaves, Sarah breaks the silence with “The pants do look a bit tight.”
“You people are no fun!”
Amelia spends some time marking on the suit pieces while Copia models them. Half an hour later the suit pieces are back on their hangers with notes pinned to the fabric for the next mockup. Amelia assures Copia that she’ll add some ease to his pants. He leaves the studio and on the way back to his office he passes by a few siblings of sin who seem to have strange looks on their faces.
Tumblr media
Sarah and Alex make their way to the dining hall for dinner. They’ve developed a good rhythm in the past week of finishing up their work and then going together for food at the end of the day; the both of them are exhausted by the whirlwind Amelia in the throes of a big project. They're midway into a conversation at their table when a couple siblings of sin rush up to them.
“Oh! Sister Hannah-?”
“Is it true?” a girl huffs. “The person who will take Papa’s place in the Ghost Project? It’s the Cardinal?”
Sarah’s eyes go wide. Alex’s head whips to the girl. “Where did you hear that?”
“Is it true? Sister Ashley heard it from brother Michael, who got a text from my girlfriend who was walking down the hall by the sewing department when she overheard Papa Terzo say something about Rituals and the Cardinal Copia was there with him!” Hannah rambles.
By now other siblings have caught on to the commotion and have hushed their conversations. All eyes are on Sarah and Alex. Some of them start asking questions of their own.
“Do you know?”
“You have to know since you were there, right?”
“Did Papa Terzo say the Cardinal would be the next Papa?”
“Aw! Terzo is so much sexier!”
Sarah snaps her head towards that last one. Her eyes scan the crowd and she spies the subject of their concerns slowly trying to make his way out of the hall by side-stepping slowly against the wall. A few turn and stand to follow her line of sight and now yell towards Copia. All Sarah can see is a flash of red fabric making a hurried exit down the halls.
A voice calls out to the clergy. “Everyone! Please settle down! Settle down!” It’s Papa Terzo’s voice. “You will all find out who the next leader of the Ghost project will be in due time. Have patience, per favore!” Papa’s words help some of the commotion die down and the siblings move to sit back at their tables. It’s a lot quieter in the dining hall but Sarah feels several dozen pairs of eyes looking towards her. The scraping sound of her chair pierces through the massive room as she stands to put up her dinner items and walk back to her room for the rest of the night. The sounds of her shoes against the tile echo painfully behind her.
Several hours have passed and Sarah can’t sleep. She’s been tossing and turning to no avail. Everyone knows who will be next to head the Ghost project. It may not have been official but who else could it be? Some are confused and some are hopeful. The Cardinal isn’t hated by any means but he never seemed like the type to lead a band.
Sarah sits up and grabs her robe. She put her shoes on and is out the door before she can even think of where to go. On instinct Sarah ends up in the ministry gardens. A beautiful sanctuary created by Papa Primo in his retirement. She’s visited a couple times during the daytime. Towering hedge walls, bushes, flower beds, and trees as far as the eye can see and soft glowing lights above and below to light the path at night. In the distance she can see a cloaked figure but they’re covered in the shadows.
“Oh, I’m sorry to disturb you!” Sarah lets out a soft laugh. The figure’s head moves to look at her and as she walks closer, she can see two distinctly miss-matched eyes looking at her. “Cardinal Copia? Is that… Is that you? I can leave.”
“No! Please, sit.” He makes some room for her on the small bench and pats the spot next to him. “I don’t mind if it’s you. I just needed some alone time and I couldn’t take one more minute in my room.”
Sarah sits down on the bench. “I’m sorry about today. If people were going to find out, it shouldn’t have come in that way...” She looks into his eyes.
“Papa is well-loved amongst the clergy. How else would anyone react?” He pats his hand on Sara’s hand in her lap. “Cara, I’ll be alright. This old bat can handle a few odd looks from the siblings.” he pleads. “Let’s not dwell too much about that right now; we mustn’t borrow trouble. What brings you to the garden so late into the night?”
She sighs. “I couldn’t sleep. I get these moods sometimes and after what happened with you today… I…”
Copia nods his head. “I don’t sleep very much, either.” Sarah turns to look up at him. “Vampire brain, I suppose. I tend not to sleep for very long every night.”
“What do you do with the extra hours?”
“I like to listen to music or uh… play video games.” He feels a bit embarrassed. “Sometimes I head to my office and start on the paperwork I left behind.”
“Sounds lonely.”
“I’m not alone right now.” Copia leans to bump shoulders with her. “What if I gave you my number and you can text me when you can’t sleep. We can be alone and restless together.”
She lets out a small gasp. Sarah turns to look at Copia. “You have a cellphone?”
“Cara if I didn’t adapt with the times I would be living in the dark ages.” Copia chuckles. “I know our ministry operates in an old building but if we didn’t have wi-fi and phones it would be torture to get anything done.
“Yes, well, it’s just a silly idea to me that a centuries old vampire would have a smartphone.” She giggles. “It’s like if you gave a Victorian child a Gameboy.”
“Hey, I’m hip as the kids might say, eh?” Sarah laughs a bit louder at that. “I’m pretty fly for an undead guy!”
Her shoulders are shaking from laughter. “If you say so, Cardinal.”
“Copia. Please, you don’t have to always address me as ‘Cardinal’, cara.”
“Ok… Copia.”
Copia stands up from the bench and turns to Sarah. “So, shall I walk you back to your room? It’s late and you still need to at least try to get some sleep.” He holds out his hand as Sarah stands up.
“Oh, I suppose.” She mimics. Copia gives her a small smirk as she grabs his hand. The two walk back to Sarah’s room hand-in-hand. Once they reach her door they stop in front of it.
“Well, this is where I take my leave, Sarah.” Copia raises her hand and gives a small kiss on the back it. “Have pleasant dreams, eh?”
Sarah’s cheeks turn pink and she gives a bashful smile to the Cardinal. A whispered “Thank you” manages to come out. She walks into her room and closes the door, glancing one last time to Copia.
Tumblr media
After Copia gets back to his room, he changes into comfier clothes and lays down in his bed. Sleep is certainly going to evade him tonight. “Oh, my sweet Sarah. My dolcezza. What are you doing to me?”
Tumblr media
Thus concludes chapter 2! I hope y'all enjoyed it. Let me know what you think! I think this story will be about 5 chapters so we're almost halfway there.

The Buddie Grey’s Anatomy AU I wrote is done so here’s the rest of my moodboards for it + the rambling thoughts I have about the characters :)
Tumblr media
Hen!! Hen’s the character I was the most excited about but also the character I feel like I did the least with because as much as I adore Cristina, so many of her plot points in the show seemed to revolve around her truly horrific boyfriends/fiancés/husbands. My hatred of Owen Hunt runs deep, so Karen ended up being partially inspired by Burke. I ended up mostly focusing on Hen and Buck becoming friends, but I do wish I got to spend a little more time on her :(
Tumblr media
I ended up sharing Bailey’s plot lines and character between Maddie and Chim, which I’m pretty happy with tbh! My favourite scene to write with them was actually the first one of theirs I wrote for this fic, which was my whumptober submission that ended up being a chunk of chapter two. While they’re mostly based after Bailey, Maddie also reminded me a little bit of Jo (both of them surviving abusive husbands) and I gave her one of April’s plot lines in the final chapter, which was exciting! I did briefly consider incorporating Lexi, Molly or Maggie’s plot lines in for Maddie (the whole ‘secret sibling’ thing) but it just didn’t work with the way I set it up.
Tumblr media
LUCY MY LOVE!! I became so unintentionally attached to Lucy while writing this so she got WAY more plot than I was initially intending haha! There’s something so magical about watching the first few seasons of Grey’s and seeing the dynamic between all of the roommates, which I tried really hard to incorporate into the fic. Then I realized I’d become attached to Lucy and Ravi and went… oh shit I’m going to have to actually give them plots rip. I had so much fun choosing which Izzie plots to give to Lucy since Izzie has some really amazing stuff to work with in the show. I ended up going with the two biggest plots (imo). Because I changed so much though, I ended up combining Izzie’s cancer plot line and Amelia’s brain tumour to create what I ended up with. I’m pretty happy with it, honestly, I hope I built it up sufficiently enough :)
Tumblr media
Ravi!!! Ravi is what people wish George O’Malley could’ve been. As I’ve previously stated, I do not like the majority of Grey’s men, and this includes George. I ended up focusing mostly on George’s issues with confidence and his complicated relationship with his family. I also elected not to go the bus route with Ravi, you’re all welcome. Fun fact! I made Lena the orthopaedic surgeon because my biggest crack ship in all of 9-1-1 is Lena/Ravi. I headcannon them to be a lesbian and a gay man but they match each other’s freak, and they’re both just as surprised about it as anyone.
Honourable mentions (aka characters I want to yap about but didn’t make moodboards for):
Shannon: I based Shannon off of Addison Forbes-Montgomery-Shepherd SPECIFICALLY because of the season 1 finale. They’re both the secret wives that show up and create chaos which I love lol. I specifically left Shannon’s ending pretty ambiguous, mainly because I don’t know if she would’ve stuck around had she lived in 9-1-1. If we’re going off of Grey’s though, she’s living her best life in LA with a group of friends who she cares a lot about. I like to think that at some point Chris reaches out (probably when he’s a lot older) and they create a tentative relationship.
Tommy: I gave Tommy elements of both Mark Sloan and Owen Hunt (just his position at the hospital because seriously, fuck Owen Hunt). I decided on Tommy as Mark before Season 7 started airing which is WILD because I basically flipped a coin between him and Sal, but went with Tommy since he showed up to fly the plane in season 2. I wrote him and Buck kissing after Buck, Bothered and Bewildered though lol! I don’t really think about what happens to Tommy after the ending of the fic, although it’s definitely not what happened to Mark. Seeing as Owen doesn’t exist in this world, neither does the plane crash <3
Ok that’s it thanks for coming to my ted talk :)

Written for: @steddiemas prompt: SANTA @steddieholidaydrabbles prompt: SANTA WC: 631 Rating: G CW: NA (Dad=Steve, Papa=Eddie) Summary: Steve and Eddie take Amelia to go see Santa Claus AO3
Amelia stood in between her fathers while they waited in line to see Santa. It was something all the other foster kids talked about, something she’s never done. When she told her Dad and Papa about it, they looked so sad, in fact her papa even cried a little. Which wasn’t that surprising, papa cries almost as much as she does.
But when her little voice said, “Santa’s never come to my house,” her dads made it their mission to make it happen. They celebrated Christmas as kids so she should too. And she was fine with that! Really! But at school she realized that the people in suits who moved her from her old houses to her new family probably didn’t tell them where she came from. So she had to, but she didn’t know how. Santa’s lap seemed like the perfect place, after all, he did grant wishes.
“Alright, Bedelia, climb on up.” Her dad said. She sat down on the big man’s lap and turned to him with a curious expression.
“What’s your name?” Santa asked.
“Amelia Munson, Mr. Claus.” She answered prim and proper, with all her manors. If he was going to grant her wish, she needed to be nice. That’s what papa said.
“What do you want for Christmas, Ms. Amelia?” Santa asked with a chuckle.
“Well, that’s the thing Mr. Claus. I’m adopted, and I don’t think the suit people told dad and papa.” She began.
“Told them what?” He asked and furrowed his brow.
“I don’t usually have a green tree. I usually have the candle row.” She said. “My mama and dada from before called it a M something said we were Jewish.”
“Ah, I see.” Santa said with a nod. “Is that what you want for Christmas? For your dads to know you’re Jewish?” He asked speculatively. Amelia nodded vigorously.
“But I want to have Christmas too, like they did.” She said pouting a little. “Is it okay to do two?” She asked softly. Santa smiled.
“Sure is, I’ll make sure you get your wish, my dear.” Santa said. Then it was time to take the picture. They smiled and papa came to get her off, Santa’s lap.
“Son, a moment?” Santa asked. Papa nodded and sent her to wait on the side. He leaned over to Santa and his eyes went wide as he listened.
“I understand, thank you for telling me sir.” Papa said and he hugged Santa tightly. Which, made Amelia think.
“Wait! Mr. Claus? Can I have a picture with you, and me, and my dads?” She asked before the next kid came up.
“You want that, honey?” Papa asked her. She nodded.
“Pretty, please?” She asked. Dad sighed, and shook his head. They both knew Papa wouldn’t be able to say no to her, so he was already moving to the jolly man. The three posed for their picture and Santa made them promise to come back next year.
~~~
Eddie walked hand in hand with Amelia toward the food court. They promised her a pretzel if she was a good girl for Santa and they made good on their promises. While she was chewing away, Eddie leaned toward Steve.
“Do you think we can get Chrissy and Robin to babysit?” He asked.
“Probably. You know they love Amelia. Why?” Steve replied. Eddie leaned in and whispered to him what Santa told him. Steve gasped. “We need to get stuff to figure that out.” Steve said nodding. “But we should ask Wayne to babysit.”
“Why?” Eddie figured he would but, the girls were closer.
“Robin’s learning Hebrew, so she might have some knowledge.” Steve said. Right, he forgot about that. Wayne it is then.
“Amelia? You want to go hang out with Grandpa Wayne?” Eddie asked.
It had been a few weeks since the last family dinner where Lando had reflected on the curious dynamic of his household.
Life in the Norris estate was never dull, and tonight was no exception.
The children were growing up fast, each displaying glimpses of the people they’d one day become.
For better or worse, they carried pieces of both parents, and it was beginning to show in the most unexpected ways.
The estate was quiet. Most of the staff had retired for the evening, leaving only the night guards stationed at key points.
Amelia, however, wasn’t in bed like she should have been. Instead, she was tiptoeing down one of the many hallways, her favorite flashlight in hand.
“Amelia,” Jacob hissed from behind her, clutching a stuffed rabbit tightly. “We’re going to get in trouble!”
“We won’t if you stop talking,” Amelia whispered back, shining her flashlight in front of her.
The two children had overheard something earlier—guards talking about a "delivery" in the estate's basement.
Amelia, endlessly curious about her father’s world, wanted to see what it was.
Jacob, on the other hand, was dragged along against his will, a reluctant sidekick in his sister’s adventures.
“What if it’s something bad?” Jacob asked nervously.
“Then I’ll handle it,” Amelia said confidently, sounding far older than her ten years.
Just as they rounded a corner, a shadow loomed behind them.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
Both children froze, turning slowly to see Lando standing there, arms crossed, his dark eyes narrowing.
Jacob shrank back, hiding behind Amelia. “We were just… exploring.”
“Exploring?” Lando repeated, his voice low but edged with disbelief. “At this hour?”
Y/N appeared moments later, drawn by the commotion. Her expression softened immediately when she saw the kids. “What’s going on here?”
“Your children decided to investigate my business,” Lando said, glancing pointedly at Amelia.
“I wanted to know what the delivery was,” Amelia admitted boldly, her chin lifting in defiance.
Lando exhaled slowly, rubbing a hand over his face. “Amelia, I’ve told you before. There are things in this house you’re not ready to understand.”
“She’s just curious,” Y/N said gently, stepping forward to kneel beside Amelia and Jacob. “It’s a good trait, but there’s a time and place for it, sweetheart. And sneaking around at night isn’t it.”
Amelia frowned but nodded, looking slightly chastised.
Jacob immediately wrapped his arms around Y/N, muttering, “Sorry, Mum.”
Y/N kissed the top of his head and stood. “Alright, off to bed. Both of you. No more sneaking around.”
Lando watched as she herded the children back toward their rooms, his gaze lingering on Amelia’s determined little face.
“She’s going to be trouble,” he muttered to himself, though there was a trace of pride in his voice.
The next morning, the family gathered for breakfast. The dining room was filled with the sound of clinking dishes and lively chatter.
“Dad, why can’t I know what you do?” Amelia asked suddenly, stabbing a piece of toast with her fork.
Lando set down his coffee cup, glancing at Y/N for support.
Y/N smiled gently. “Your dad’s work is very complicated, Amelia. And some parts of it… well, they’re not something a ten-year-old needs to worry about.”
“But you know about it,” Amelia pressed, looking at her mother. “And you’re nice.”
Y/N laughed softly, while Lando raised an eyebrow.
“Nice has nothing to do with it,” he said. “Your mother is smarter and stronger than anyone I’ve ever met. That’s why she can handle it.”
Jacob piped up, his voice quiet. “I don’t think I’d want to know. I like the garden and the library.”
“That’s fine too,” Y/N said warmly. “Everyone has their own strengths.”
Amelia, however, wasn’t satisfied. “I’m going to be just like you one day,” she told Lando.
Y/N exchanged a look with her husband, her smile fading slightly. “We’ll talk about that when you’re older,” she said gently.
Later that day, Lando found Y/N in the garden, trimming roses. She was always happiest out here, surrounded by life and beauty, a stark contrast to the chaos of his world.
“You’re worried about Amelia,” he said, stepping closer.
Y/N sighed, placing the shears down. “She’s too young to want this, Lando. She doesn’t understand what it really means.”
“She’s got my stubbornness,” Lando admitted, smirking faintly.
“She’s got more than that,” Y/N said, brushing a stray hair from her face. “She’s smart and brave, but I don’t want her growing up thinking this life is her only option.”
Lando nodded, leaning against the garden wall. “I’ll talk to her. Set some boundaries.”
“And Jacob?” Y/N asked, her voice softening.
“He’s fine,” Lando said. “He’s more like you—sees the good in everything.”
Y/N smiled at that. “I hope so. The world needs more kindness.”
Lando reached out, pulling her close. “You balance us all out, you know that?”
She looked up at him, her expression tender. “And you protect us. It works.”
As the household settled down, Lando sat in his study, staring at a family photo on his desk. Amelia’s fierce grin mirrored his own, while Jacob’s shy smile was all Y/N.
He couldn’t deny how much his family meant to him. They were his reason for everything—the good, the bad, and the complicated.
When Y/N entered the room, carrying two mugs of tea, he smiled softly.
“Thinking about the kids again?” she asked, sitting beside him.
“Always,” he admitted, taking a sip of tea.
“They’ll be okay, Lando,” she said, resting her head on his shoulder. “Because they have us.”
And in that quiet moment, surrounded by the warmth of her presence, Lando believed her.
Thanksgiving (Jolex and Luna Season 18 Imagine)
Tumblr media
Age Rating: 12+
Chapters: One of One
Fandom: Grey’s Anatomy
Ship: Alex Karev x Jo Wilson/Jo Karev
Other Ships: Andrew DeLuca x Amber Karev (Alex Karev’s Sister), Maya Bishop x Carina DeLuca.
Canon Episode: Season 18 Episode 6
AN: Happy Thanksgiving! I wanted to do a Thanksgiving dinner with everyone in my fandom gathered so I decided to do a rewrite of the Thanksgiving episode from season 18 with Jo and Alex still married with Luna as their daughter and them celebrating with their friends and family. Like and reblog below and let me know what you think.
Summary: Jo and Alex spend their first thanksgiving with Luna planning a dinner alone until unexpected guests come and join them when their own solo dinners go south.
Words: 2944
November 25th, 2021
“See that, Luna?” Jo tells her daughter as she traces her daughter’s tiny hand on the paper set on her highchair while Alex is in the kitchen with them preheating the oven getting ready to cook up a storm, “That’s a hand turkey. I know it doesn’t look like an actual turkey, but we just have to color it and put feathers on it.”
“It’s nothing compared to the actual turkey we’re gonna feast on.” Alex boasts tying his ‘Kiss the Cook’ apron around himself, “You can’t eat it but maybe the smell will make you see what’s so good about it. Plus, the mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce are soft enough for you to eat. Yep, it’s gonna be a great first Thanksgiving, Little Moon.”
“And we’ll have plenty of leftovers for the next three weeks.” Jo says with a smile looking at the ingredients Alex spread across the counter this morning.
Alex laid out recipes for the delicious stuffing, the sweet pumpkin pie, the tangy cranberry sauce, the mouthwatering gravy, the fluffy mashed potatoes, the buttery bread rolls, the succulent mac and cheese, and the savory green bean casserole. Jo looks at the pile of ingredients in their kitchen and wonders if it’s too much for their small family.
“Honey, I know that you love feeding us, but I think we should seriously consider just making a turkey and cracking open a can of cranberry because it’s just gonna be the three of us eating turkey today. Two technically since Luna is just gonna eat baby food.”
“Yeah, I thought about doing that too.” Alex starts with the frozen green beans and fills the saucepan with water, “And then Meredith called and said she was stuck in Minnesota due to the storm so she can’t be home for Thanksgiving with the kids.”
“Oh how awful.” Jo says sympathetically stroking Luna’s hair appreciating that she can spend this holiday with her, “I’m guessing the kids are gonna come here and that’s why we’re making such a big spread?”
Alex sets the pan on top of the stove turning it on to heat the water, “Close. Amelia is with the kids and she’s insisting that she can cook for all of them. I lived with her for almost a year, she could barely make spaghetti, so Meredith told me to prepare for the inevitable invasion of 3 kids that eat anything that isn’t nailed down.”
“I’m sure she’ll be fine, maybe things won’t go south with her taking care of the dinner this year.”
Alex laughs at that, “Good one. Now I’m gonna start with the green bean casserole, do you want to start preparing the turkey?”
“Yeah.” Jo gets the turkey out of the sink and lays it on the table, “How hard can it be? I cut people open and after that I helped bring babies into this world a turkey should be cake.”
“You know it’s not actually cake right?” Alex teases pouring the green beans inside the pan causing Jo to smack his back with the kitchen towel smiling. The doorbell rings causing Alex to chuckle, “You see I told you; I should have made a bet. Can you get the door?”
Jo stands up and walks over to the door expecting to find an exhausted Amelia with the kids on the other side. She opens the door and sees four people but not the ones she and Alex were expecting. Her sister-in-law, Amber DeLuca nee’ Karev and her husband Andrew DeLuca look at Jo sheepishly. Andrew’s sister, Carina, and her wife Maya Bishop are next to them waving at the OB resident who looks surprised but grins at them and calls out to Alex.
“Alex four more settings at the table!”
“Happy Thanksgiving.” Amber says as she and her in laws enter the house each couple carrying a plastic wrapped bowl of their own. The four of them enter the kitchen to meet Alex who looks surprised by their sudden appearance as Amber told him she and Andrew were gonna have their own Thanksgiving dinner with Carina and Maya.
“You four aren’t the four I was expecting to barge in here.” Alex greets, “What happened to your small thanksgiving dinner?”
“It’s a really long story.” Amber answered with her husband scoffing, amused.
“It’s really not.” Andrew elaborates setting the bowl of mashed potatoes on the counter, “Your sister accidentally ordered a live turkey, and she was close to killing it.”
Full Story Here
Jo’s eyes widened at that, “Oh wow and I thought I heard it all working at the hospital during Thanksgiving. I can see why you came here, three against one is not good odds on murdering a turkey.”
Maya chuckles, “For the record I was almost on board with her but then my wife and brother-in-law suggested coming here or we kill the bird, and they would see us as cold blooded murderers.”
“You just gotta chop the head off, what’s the big deal?” Alex points out stirring his green beans.
“Thank you! I would have done it too, but I don’t want to be divorced before I’m 30 so I let my husband call the shots.” Amber says before going to Luna with a wide smile, “And how are you today my little turkey? Are you having fun today? I know your having much more fun than me because your gonna have a big dinner and I’m stuck with a big bird for a pet.”
Andrew chuckles at that, “Who were you guys expecting instead?”
“Amelia and Meredith’s kids.” Jo answers lifting Luna from the highchair to hold her, “Meredith can’t get a flight out from Minnesota so she’s missing Thanksgiving.”
Alex salts the pan with the green beans, “And Amelia is in charge of cooking for the kids today.”
“Oh god that woman is gonna burn the house down.” Andrew says scared knowing the chaotic neurosurgeon too well.
Alex chuckles at that, “No odds are she’s not even gonna turn the oven on until it’s dusk.”
Andrew grins at that seeing an opportunity, “Want to bet? Winner gets 20 bucks?”
“Oh, you are so on. Now help me prepare the turkey.”
Jo looks at her husband offended, “What? I thought I was preparing the turkey.”
“Honey, you know I love you but out of all of us DeLuca and I are pretty much the only ones that can actually cook.” Jo narrows her eyes at Alex who shrugs, “Hey I’m not one to look an Italian gift horse in the mouth. You can make the jello salad.”
“I uh brought some of my own.” Maya points out holding the bowl, “But I can kind of cook so maybe Jo and I can make the stuffing while Amber and Carina make the pumpkin pie.”
“As long as I get some turkey at the end of this you can make geoduck for all I care.” Alex says busy with his pan.
Maya furrows her eyebrows confused, “Isn’t that the one that looks like a-”
“Yes.” Amber answers before she and Carina go to the pantry to get the ingredients.
“Sorry your Thanksgiving is tuning out so poorly.” Jo says to Maya as they bend down the bottom pantries, “I’m sure a live turkey is not how you imagined your first real Thanksgiving with the family you married into.”
Maya grins, “No don’t be it’s already a better Thanksgiving than the ones I’ve had growing up believe me.”
“Let me guess traumatic childhood?” Jo asks knowing too well about that, “I am practically the queen of that. My childhood was such a trash dump I had to write the good things on little scraps of paper to remind myself they even happened. Then I would shove them into an old takeout box and read them on Thanksgiving between sad chicken nuggets.”
“Wow your right, you are the queen.” Maya takes the pie pan out and walks over to the circular table joining Carina and Amber, “You know I think this my first thanksgiving that didn’t have my dad throw something at the wall when an unexpected problem occurs. Like my mom getting the wrong ingredients or my brother forgetting to wash the dishes or me eating too much turkey on turkey day.”
“He sounds like a treat.” Jo says astonished at how horrible Maya’s dad sounds, “What about you Amber? Any horrific Thanksgiving stories you have on the table?”
“Not really.” Amber starts to open the can of pumpkin puree, “We couldn’t afford a turkey, or had a huge loving family to gather with but we did get pity dinners from the charity. Not so much dinners as more about to expire cans of food.”
“Oh yeah I remember those.” Alex reminisces as he drains the green beans, “What people donate to food drives is really the best character test in the world. No corn or mixed veggies those are for the normal people while we got kidney beans and sweet peas.”
“And do you remember that one year, you, me and Aaron ended up in foster care the month of November?” Amber asks pouring the pumpkin inside the bowl, “We got walkie talkies, snuck out Thanksgiving morning and spent the whole afternoon inside a movie theater sneaking into five movies I think.”
Alex chuckles at one of the few good memories of his teen hood, “Oh yeah. My foster parents sucked and ignored me, so I decided to do something fun to forget about why I was there. I think we saw Fight Club, Star Wars and The Blair Witch Project in that whole day.”
“Let me guess Amber picked Blair Witch?” Andrew asks with his wife sticking her tongue out at her teasing husband.
“Yep, and she stayed the whole movie while me and Aaron ran out within the first 30 minutes.” Alex grins at that before shifting to the DeLuca’s, “What about you guys? Did you have any unusual or traumatizing Thanksgiving traditions?”
“No.” Carina smiles, “We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in Italy it’s more for Americans.”
“And that’s probably a good thing because our father would have ruined it like he ruined all the other holidays for us.” Andrew points out as he spreads the coating on the turkey, “My mom was very strict on me never conforming to American traditions so I wouldn’t forget where I came from. But I still love turkey, so I make an exception now and then.”
“Clearly not enough to let me cook that feathery animal on our front porch.” Amber reminds him with a sarcastic grin.
“Okay honey lets make a deal. The next time you accidentally order another live turkey I will let you chop it’s head off in our porcelain bathtub and help you prepare it.”
“Be careful she might just do it on purpose after you promise.” Jo suggests causing the group to laugh and keep preparing for their dinner.
Five Hours Later
“Thank you so much for having us.” Amelia says as she sets the table with Jo and Amber with Alex and Andrew setting the meals across the dining room table, “I wouldn’t want to impose but I managed to forget to turn the oven on with the turkey still inside and I didn’t want the kids to be even more depressed, so I suggested Thanksgiving at Uncle Alex’s and they exploded with excitement.”
Alex grins while Andrew groans quietly with a pained look hearing that he lost the bet, “We’re happy to have you and the kids and I’m even more happy to hear you didn’t burn the house down.”
Alex snaps his fingers holding his hand out to DeLuca who rolls his eyes but complies with their bet. He takes his wallet out and slaps a 20-dollar bill in his brother in law’s hand. Alex grins gloatingly, pocketing his win with Amelia looking at the men confused.
“We made a bet on what you would do that brought you guys to our house.” Alex explains, “I bet that you would leave the oven off.”
“And I bet that you would burn the house down.” Andrew says with regret.
Amelia looks shocked by that turning to their wives who are busy setting up the table, “You two married horrible people you know that right?”
“I knew that, but I love him anyways.” Jo says grinning at Alex who grins back.
“And I don’t want to be divorced before I’m 30.” Amber responds nonchalantly, causing Andrew to grin sarcastically knowing she’s only joking.
“Love you too Bella.”
Once they set the meals and plates the entire party gathers around the dining table set for 8 people. Meredith’s kids laugh and play Uno together in the small table Alex set up next to the main table designating it as the grownups table. The couples chat and laugh as they gather around for this holiday that proved to be hectic at first but ultimately led to them coming together to celebrate properly in their own improper way that is just right for each family.
Amelia and Link are seated next to each other with their son between them in his highchair. Maya and Carina are holding hands with Carina huddled up with her back against Maya’s front as they smile at the feast that exceeds their earlier expectations. Amber and Andrew are seated next to the DeLuca-Bishops with Andrew planting a kiss on Amber’s cheek that makes her smile. And the hosts, Jo and Alex are seated next to each other at the end of the table with Alex taking the head chair holding the turkey knife ready to cut it and eat it.
“Okay the moment we’ve all been waiting for, turkey!” Alex turns the electric knife on with a buzzing sound that brings joy to their guests ready for dinner. The turkey is passed around the table with each individual scooping stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, gravy, bread rolls, and mac and cheese. The entire table eats their dinner that is shared with casual conversation among them.
Link moans as he eats the casserole, “The one good thing about a pandemic stalling Thanksgiving is that it makes the meal that much more delicious.”
“Amen brother.” Andrew supports eating his wife’s lumpy mashed potatoes, “So since this is my first official Thanksgiving, is there a point in which we say what were thankful for this year?”
“I’ll go first.” Amelia says putting her fork down, “I am thankful for Alex for letting us come over and eat his turkey after I botched mine up.”
Alex chuckles nodding in appreciation with Link going next clockwise, “Um wow I didn’t have time to write a speech uh…I guess I’m thankful that I made the best baby ever in the middle of the worst year of all time because Scout made it bearable.”
The group awe at that sweet statement with Amelia stroking Scout’s hair as he is in a highchair next to his parents.
“Okay me next.” Carina sits up straight and clears her throat, “I am thankful for Maya. If I never met you bambina I would never know what it means to want to spend the rest of your life with one person who makes you feel all the love in this world.”
Maya smiles at that before chuckling nervously as she is next, “I was gonna say I’m thankful that I can eat this much without shame this year.”
The group laugh at that and Carina scoffs with an amused smile as Maya continues, “But that is tied with being thankful for Carina and getting her to propose to me and marry me and make me happy in a time that would otherwise drive me insane.”
Carina smiles at that and kisses her wife who smiles back at her.
“Nice save.” Amber commends before going next holding Andrew’s hand with a smile, “I am thankful that I got this sweet and handsome guy to be married to me for almost a whole year even despite my chaotic family and childhood baggage.”
“Seriously?” Andrew asks chuckling, “The first night we spent together you met my sister half naked just when she was about to sleep with my roommate. I think that night alone says I am messed up enough for you maybe even more.”
Maya clears her throat awkwardly, “Maybe don’t talk about my wife’s previous conquests in front of me. It’s like having a PowerPoint of all of her exes and their scorings in bed.”
“Schialla bambina!” Carina says with a smile before her brother goes next.
“I am thankful for Amber and somehow getting her to marry me. I love you Bella and no amount of chaos and baggage will ever change that.” Amber smiles at that before kissing him.
Jo goes next, “It’s easy for me, I am thankful for Alex and most of all I am thankful for Luna.” Jo caresses her baby’s cheek causing her to grin at her parents who look at her lovingly.
Alex goes next, “Well I for one am thankful for a lot of things. I’m thankful that this year is going better than the last. I’m thankful that even if Meredith isn’t here, we’re all here to celebrate together and will hopefully become a tradition for many years to come. And most importantly I am thankful for Jo and Luna because without them in my life…I wouldn’t even be half as happy as I am now.”
Jo smiles at her husband before kissing him above their baby’s highchair. They stop and get back to their first thanksgiving together as a family hoping it is the first of many to come.
You are loved / Once Upon A Time AU ✨
Tumblr media
Romantic relationship: Snow x Charming
Tumblr media
Relationship: Amelia x Nikolai
Friendships: Joshua & Belladonna, Nikolai & Marlene, Amelia & Cole
Mentioned character: Liane, Ethan, Marlene, Jeremy, Alexander etc
Setting: Enchanted Forest (pre dark curse) & post dark curse modern day
———
There were a couple of things in the world she wanted in.
Adventure, love and a family of her own in the future. She thought with the life she lived and the upcoming threats after her wedding day, it wouldn’t happen.
Nicholas wasn’t sleeping as well as he could in the very beginning. He was worried about him, his wife and their friends lives surrounding them.
After a while he relaxed due to his wife’s reassuring smile and comforting attitude towards him. He thanked her for it and pressed a kiss onto her lips whenever possible.
“We’ll be okay right?” He’ll ask.
She’ll hum, “Yeah, we will. He’s just jealous..”
“My brother probably just wanted to fear us all with his cruel behavior.”
“You know him better than anyone at times.”
He smirked, “How about we skip the dinner at home and head out over town?”
She blushed, “Say when.”
Which led to them spending their money around town for a horse ride, dinner and walk around the bay. The moon was shaped like crescent that night. It was a comforting night that set the mood for the rest of the weeks to come.
And come they did.
Two weeks later, she woke up early for breakfast but couldn’t stomach it all down like usual. Her husband joked how he must’ve been craving something else then as she rolled her eyes.
“What?” He said taking a few grapes off her plate, “I’m kidding. Are you feeling well?”
She hummed slowly taking another bite of her sandwich, “I feel okay, just not as hungry as I thought..I was dizzy yesterday but i was fine after a nap.”
“Oh my gods.”
“Oh my gods, what?”
“My mother always said love on a night of the moon was shining meant a special thing.”
She raised an eyebrow intrigued, “Go on.”
He didn’t even want to jump to conclusions but he continued, “My mother always like to say the moon is special, as well as the stars…like I was born on a stary evening in mid July, I proposed to you under the moonlight too..what if our child was made..?”
“…underneath a stary night filled the shining moon? You think we’re expecting?” She asked curiously biting her lip.
“What if we are.”
“Are we ready that?”
“With you by my side we are.”
She saw the twinkle in his eyes and held up a finger, “No, no wait!”
He grinned brightly tossing another grape into his mouth, “I’mma teach our son to ride horses, sword fight, learn poetry to win over the ladies and—sail a ship! Best pirate prince in all the land!”
“When he’s what? 2?”
“Don’t be ridiculous, honey. I’ll wait til he’s 4 to start.”
“Oh my, what if it girl?”
His grin grew and narrows his eyes, “She won’t be dating. Ever! But I will allow as many tea parties as possible, teach her to ride a horse too and learn to dance with her old man. Oh no, she’ll be gorgeous and try to steal too many hearts. But if she gets her heart broken, those guys better run!”
That sounds his wife to burst out laughing at the thought of his utter fear of when that would happened. All that matters is they will be loved and taken care of no matter what.
——
————
“They Supemaned me!” He exclaimed
“They what?” She questioned.
“They threw me into a box-”
“Technically it was a tree. Then it was turned into a wardrobe.”
“Box, tree, closet whatever same thing!”
“Your parents were trying to save you, save everyone for that matter. Half of the parents here had to make a decision to help their kid survive, luckily that got to have their parents here with them.”
Tumblr media
Joshua sighed, “Mom could’ve gone with me.”
“She went into early labor.” She added.
“Couldn’t she have crossed her legs and try not to sneeze?”
Bella snorted at that one.
“You’re funny when you’re not thinking straight.” Bella commented with a half smile, Anything else you wanna get off your chest before we get some serious coffee from the cafe?”
“I just want to know what was going on in their heads? I just met, well their cursed faces, and they seems like nice people..but what if we aren’t? What if we wake up and don’t recognize who their son is? I don’t even know them!” He exclaimed.
“Hm. Spend a day with me. Maybe you’ll change your mind.”
“I have been alone for so long, I tried searching for my parents since I was 8, Bell..you got lucky and got a pretty nice deal with a mom like Liane. But..”
“You fear they won’t feel the same way about you, because you weren’t around when they were first here. I get it, not having your parents together. But hang out with them, even if they don’t know who you are. See what happens. Now can we get coffee?”
He sighed and nodded. He felt a bit lost here, being in a position of helpless rage but not blinded by the slightest hint of hope. His mom is a nurse here who just woke up from a coma a while back having only been on a date with his father. And his father, he lives with the man but doesn’t even remember that’s his son right in front of him, yet he was kind enough to let him into his home.
He could tell them but he doesn’t know if they would believe a 16 year old stories about who his parents are. There is a part of him feels like this is all some twisted joke, that his parents aren’t Snow White & Prince Charming! And that Belladonna’s parents aren’t an Anti-Hero and a Heroic Spirit of the Enchanted Kingdom.
But his hopes are there and—
“Joshua!”
He was snapped out of his thoughts realizing they are inside the cafe and about to order. She was taking a bite out of her old fashion donut. Belladonna gave him a look to order something as the clerk waited for his response, he just gave her a quick order of coffee and a glazed doughnut. The woman nodded and told them to give her a moment, as she quickly returned with their coffees and the donuts.
Belladonna thanked the woman as Josh nodded with a smile muttering a soft thanks. The two sat in the coffee shop window chatting about schoolwork, what movie they can go see on Friday. Bella wanted a horror that she can mock for the plot and Josh wanted a comedic adaptation experience instead. The settled on a Scary Movie for a decent price, appointing plot about mocking Scream and having an entertainment viewing hour.
He was talking about the recent rewatching of a Supernatural episode she recommended to him earlier when Belladonna’s gaze turned to the outside of the storefront to The Tattoo Shop instead. Watching how her mother walked out of there holding her wrist and carrying a bag of paperwork instead, looking rather odd—well odder than usual. She wondered what exactly did Alexander have her do this time, as she grabbed her friends’s wrist dragging him to the shop despite his sudden protest of wanting a decent evening.
Tumblr media
The two entered the store finding Marlene up front instead at the flower shop or cafe where she usually works.
She asked what were they doing here and not in school, as Bella bluntly said, “Half a day.”
Joshua sneaked past her and found Nik in his office who was biting a bear-claw donut, not looking his usual self. He was about to ask him how did he get in here but decided against it and instead wondered what happened.
“What happened to you?” The teen asked.
“Just got work to do. I was finishing up a small batch of tattoos.” He replied.
“Miss St. James tattoo.”
“I—That’s private client information I cannot expose to you.”
“What did she want?”
“She wanted a tattoo and to hand me some paperwork. End of discussion, Joshua.”
“But-“
“End of conversation.”
Bella suddenly walked in motioned to a stask of papers on the desk signed by City Hall about taxes and property rights.
“Did it have to do with legal matter?” She asked.
“I’m sorry but that is none of either one of your business to know.” Nik replied.
“It has your brother written all over it. What did my mother say?”
“Belladonna, sweetheart, if you want answers go ask her. And Josh, you and I will have a conversation about this at home.”
“We just want to know what’s going on. It’s just a question.”
As the two kept talking about the situation, the young brunette began to look over the paperwork. It seemed to highlight the fact that Nik isn’t ringing in as many customers for tattoos or piercing as he hoped. The taxes were being raised Alexander himself and if he didn’t have any money by the end of the month. He will need to pay up or shut down his business.
He pretended to scroll through his phone, taking a picture of the document, then walked out without saying anything. Bella followed behind him, trying to keep up with his pace noticing how he was going down to Town Hall. She looked impressed by his determination but concerned about his actions.
~~~~
Belladonna was honestly interested in how this was going to play out, following himself inside sneaking them into the ground floor past the doors and knocking into the office. The man in the office called for the person to come in assuming that his assistant was probably on break and didn’t bother to tell him.
He looked up to see both teens as his eyes heated in annoyance and disbelief at the sight.
But he held his composure and said, “Hello Belladonna, and Mr. Nolan I presume. If it’s a legal matter, you know who to ask for.”
Belladonna raised an eyebrow pacing up to his desk and nods, “On the contrary, this includes you. We all know you’re not the most liked man in town, but you do have a presence to uphold, and I take it you rather keep it that way.”
“You’re really telling me something I don’t know. Belladonna, dear, what is it that you want to know. My budget cuts on the school? My relations with your mother? Or that fact that I have an appointment with my brother to get to?”
“Ah, so you do know what I mean. I want to know what exactly are you making my mother do for you. You’re just a boss to her, yet she is working overtime. What is it that you have over her?”
“She is only lawyer in town until further notice. I need her close by to make sure this town runs smoothly, before you were born, me and her were friends. Not just business partners.”
“I find that hard to believe. She has been doing your duty work and I won’t let you make her go mad with stress.”
“I can see why she loves you so much. Now why are you here or does your little friend want to answer that?”
“You’re having the Tattoo Parlor removed soon if the owner doesn’t pay up. Sorry to hear that not everyone of your loyal subjects aren’t willing to get a tattoo or piercing. I suggest you contact your brother or you will be making less profit on taxes payments!”
“Belladonna watch your mouth or I’ll—“
“You’ll what?! Call my mother? Or my father who you have made bluntly clear that you hate.”
“You have been pushing your agenda here.”
“I’m not afraid of you.”
Joshua spoke up, “Bella, please stay outside. Cool off, I’ll meet you in the hallway.”
He placed a hand over her shoulder with a small nod, he decided to let her speak her mind first before getting a moment alone but he wasn’t going to let her get in trouble with her parents. Her glares on Alexander lessened as she looked over at her friend with a small nod walking away into the hallway, she knew the man was fuming at her words secretly but wasn’t quite ready to admit it.
Tumblr media
He waited for her to close the doors behind her then began to watch Alexander who was standing over his desk at that point ready to pick up the phone and call security to make both of them exist the facility. But it clear he wasn’t going anywhere yet with that potential threat, as the tall man just seemed to watch the brunette he haven’t properly met yet until now.
He took a breath to regain his confidence and blinked before saying, “Mr. Nolan. I see you can’t stand for arguments. I apologize our first meeting was started in just an odd way.”
He nodded, looking around the office then sat down on the chair in front of the desk and replied, “It’s alright. I came here to speak to you about something, Bella clearly got the ball rolling on that topic.”
“Yes the parlor and the tattoo artist who runs it. What of it?”
“You’re raising the price too high and his taxes shouldn’t be higher than others. No one’s taxes should be as high nor lower than most. I mean you’re family, shouldn’t brothers stick out for one another?”
“And why do you care? My brothers business is nothing of your concern, your a child, unless he meant something to you.”
“Because I’m living with him. He took me as his roommate and I understand that what I’m saying isn’t fair because I have payed taxes myself but if my sibling were in charge of a business..I would cut them some slack.”
Alexander has heard from Liane’s talkative self that she knows about his brother current situation and the town’s problems, always trying to reason with him about the serious matters of the place they live in. He would have laughed because his lawyer knew more than she can chew and the fact that his brother was babysitting some reckless teenager was beyond him.
“Let me ask you something, Mr. Nolan. Why do you care? What do you know about family or taking care of a business? How much money goes into it?” He asked waiting for his response, wonder how he will react.
“Not much, sir. I don’t have any family members that I know of. But I have helped out with volunteer projects but big business is about community development and resources.” He responded.
“There’s my point. You know nothing about of experience within the industry or family pains to worry about. You’re nothing but an individual who got lucky enough that my brother took you in. Son, I advise you to stay out of it or I’ll have a grand day having you be put on the streets of my town.”
“Or what? I have been a street kid since I was born, sir. How can we get the place to stay in business?”
“If you can afford enough money to pay off that loan from the bank then you’ll be fine. But then again, even with the mortgage payment and money saved, you won’t get as many people coming in to convert into clients. And beside, you’re just a child. You got nothing to prove.”
Joshua just said a simple ‘Okay. I understand. It won’t happen. Thank you’ as he thanked Alexander for taking a moment to speak to him. But the moment he walked out and met Bella in the hallway something came over him that he couldn’t explain but he didn’t want to give up. It was like Belladonna could see the expression on his face changed as clearly as day, remembering the tales of his parent and her mother talking to one another in the book.
She smirked having a non verbal conversation with him. The words that came across seemed almost daring, clever and passive to believe.
The two talking points were made of a plan to rally the public against the current situation and bring awareness to the issue. This town was a tightly packed community, they would work together if needed. Nikolai watched as they entered the building once again explaining to him the idea. He was furious and concerned about the fact that they went to speak with his brother who was not one to reason with. He just stayed there with his arms crossed listening.
Until he spoke up, “Let me get this straight you want to raise awareness to the business by having sales and special services for people? That won’t exactly help that much.”
“Why not?” Joshua asked.
“Because not everyone wants to get a needle against their skin that might be something permanent..”
“Is there any marketing tactic that could be applied to this idea?”
Nikolai watched both kids with narrow eyes thinking for a moment about an opportunity he might have missed and how it might help now.
He looked around at the room where Marlene was tattooing a client and the wall that depicted both stores, then back at the teenagers.
He hummed, “Market the place. Combing both businesses together can rain in more sales opportunities and create a new community that will benefit everyone.”
“I’m not following.” Bella asked this time.
“Marlene runs the cafe next door and I run this place. We have thought about combining both sides of coin for years but never had the chance to do.”
“Well you do now. Make it a group effort for the town, where you both get the profits at the end of the day. I can convince my father to help and break down a wall.”
“Oh jeez. If you’re gonna do it, you do it my way. Both you will give out flyers, post it on media, and rally up the tropes—Mar?”
“Yeah?” She yelled from the room, pausing a tattoo she was doing on Rick’s arm.
“Get your hammer we’re gonna make some extra space later!” He shouted over his shoulder.
“Oh hell yes!”
“One wall.”
“Damn it!”
A part of Nikolai thought he was going to regret this decision, but as he looked over to see both teens on one of the computer using a Google Doc to create flyers to print out, he smiled thinking the possibility this could bring.
He does wonder, what made them want to help out in the first place?
Belladonna and Joshua set off to work making flyers and printing them out. Bella gets Geo, Gina and Riley in line having them help spread the word on the newly made announcement. She sends them to the school to tell teachers and parents, as well Bruce’s diner knowing plenty of people will be there. Easily enough, she was able to convince her father to join in and knock down a few walls to create some space.
Ethan was willing to give it a try and help out, having Rick swing around a hammer meanwhile he starts bringing in the pillars for the new walls.
Joshua stays behind rolling up his sleeves putting on a hard hat and design the new place. Nikolai was bringing in more wood yelling for Marlene to break careful when he looked over his shoulder to see the boy working with a sharpie marker instead of a normal pencil.
He asked ‘why a sharpie?’ as Josh just said that he liked it better than way, it brings more impactful lines and versatile surfaces. Nikolai simply nodded, he was the same way when it came to his art using a sharpie instead, another thing in common aside from the coffee style he both loved.
Cole was sitting outside Bruce’ diner watching that both stores were shut down for remodeling as he smirked having gotten a flyer from Riley earlier. He decided it was time to pay a visit to his nephew and then possibly his niece afterwards.
Joshua was tasked to get an extra first aid kit from the hospital to add to the supply closet as the adults kept working on other things. He was about to argue against it knew it would be another chance to explore the town and its people.

The castle was shinning bright despite the cloudy day. She knew it was early to tell but Amara couldn’t help but start decorating the nursery. Only a few weeks along and she already collecting tiny items to put on the shelves, such as toy knights, blocks with letters craved in them, stuff bears.
The crib stayed in the middle with a nicely made pillows inside, neutral colored blankets, and a couple of blankets. She placed a hand over her small bump and chuckled as she played with the fabrics slayed across her.
“Are you gonna name your child after me?”
She turned around and sighed giving the man in question a look. She giggled turning to see him sitting on the floor played with a stuffed rabbit gifted from Melissa a few weeks ago.
“And why do you want that?” She asked putting her hands on her hips.
“Because I’m your best friend and hopefully The Godfather of that kid. It’s only fair.” He repiled with a giggle placing a hand on her belly, “Oh damn girl your gonna get fat.”
She mocked gasped, “I hate you.”
“You love me.” He added grinning, “I’m kidding you look beautiful.”
“Thank you. Morning sickness is a bore. But I like it all.”
“You know I can use magic to take away the-“
“No! No magic, I want an all natural thing. I told you already, I can suck it up.”
“Atta girl. Sooo what am I getting? Niece or Nephew? Please let it be a girl I want tea parties and to show her to punch a some guy in the face.”
“You want a niece?”
“Duh. Play dress up all day. But if I get a nephew, I can go on adventures with him and we can play dress up too. Either way I’mma spoil them.”
“That’s what worries me. You be the one to show my son to get in trouble and give me a headache.”
“That’s my job as an uncle to give the parents a headache and I become their favorite.”
The two chuckled.
Amara asked, “What brings you here today?”
“I live here.” Cole added.
“I know that. Why are you in the nursery and not out at a tavern?”
“Ah well..”
With a flick of his wrist a cute little mobile designed with little bees, little sunflowers and a little suns to match. He grinned twirling the tiny bee around before magically sticking it on the crib. He asked if she liked it as all the princess could do was nod and smile not expecting a gift from today.
“I-is there a price?” She asked.
“No price.” He replied.
“Any other gifts?”
“One.”
“Hmm?”
“Remember the blanket you want to make for them?”
“Yeah?”
“When I find out my little bee’s gender, I will add whatever needed to the blanket as well as their name.”
“You don’t need their name for that. I can do that.”
“Why’s that?”
“Because you’ll change it to you’re name!”
Cole placed a hand over his chest in a dramatic manner and scoffed, “I’ll never do that! I mean I could..but I won’t! What names are you thinking?”
Amara reaches into the crib and played with the fabric of the blanket she in the process of making as she hummed, “We want J names for our first child—“
“First child? You’re gonna be popping out more babies for me to babysitting afterward?!”
“One day relax! Not now my gods. But yes Nik recommend ‘J’ names because of Jeremy’s name—”
“What about me? I’m important, aren’t I?”
“I’m getting to it, wait!”
“Alright, alright I’ll relax. What else are you doing?”
“I was thinking ‘C’ name for a middle name. Like Conner, Christopher, Colton and even Caspian for a small flare.”
“Pick Colton. It’s similar to Cole, I made my vote.”
She giggles and nods, “We’re thinking on it. Don’t worry. For ‘J’ names we want Jone, Joshua, Jace and uh, Jaxon.”
“I like Jona and Joshua. My little Joshy Colton.” He added with a grin.
“And for girl maybe Daria, Abigail, Leia and Layla.”
“Hm I like Leia, sounds like a princess. Ooh Nicole for a girl, has my name in there too.”
“You’re funny.”
“I know. But I’ll stick with Colton or Christoper.”
~~~~~
Joshua arrived at the hospital carrying his backpack on one shoulder, signing for a visitors pass for the moment. He pulled out the flyers for the grand opening of the joint stores as he requested for a first aid kit for the nurses. One of them nodded rushing to find one, allowing him to hang up the printed papers on the walls.
The hallway he was in rather quiet for being a hospital. Yes, there were machines going off every once in a while and sounds of shoes clapping the floor but it wasn’t anything loud or terrifying.
He was hanging up one the bulletin board, when a doctors slammed a door so hard as two nurses followed behind them. The sound startled him where he stupidly pinned a staple from the very stapler he was using to his pin finger.
He didn’t even feel a single thing as the adrenaline was warning his system, but soon enough as he wore off he hissed. He stopped everything he was doing rushing to find a nurse to help him, a couple were busy but he heard one call him over saying they can help.
He didn’t waste a moment as he sat down on a bed feeling like a baby for hissing and wincing at a mere stapler in his skin. But the nurse didn’t seem to mind asking him questions as she prepared her tools. Josh didn’t even look up at the nurse due to the pain he was slowly in and he huffed, he took a breath and closed his eyes as his gaze fell on the nurse.
She smiled back at him. He blinked for a moment holding out his hand meeting blue-green eyes, tan skin and warm smile. He would’ve melt by the light touch and soft gaze she did smoothing over his worries.
He didn’t expect to see her today. Last he heard she was at the cafe shopping work—not as a nurse?! Here in front of him stood Amelia Spencer—Snow White—his mother. His mother was taking care of his wound and she didn’t even know it. He was worried about seeing her again due to his fears that she might not like him or worse, not care for him.
He was dropped in and out of foster homes when he was younger, he had mothers who were nice caring for their every need and some who were there for the money. He experienced both. The fathers too. He didn’t want to get his hopes up that she will be gentle and darling now but once she wakes up, she won’t treat him the same way.
But when he meet her eyes, it melts away somehow. He felt conflict, he wanted his parents together and to see the curse broken but he feared the vision in front of his eyes.
Did his mother expect him to be a knight? A prince? A good boy with morals and values? Did she expect him to be hardworking? Have skills like her and his father?
Will she love him even if he just a teenager with decent grades, a little shy, dressed like a character on a CW series and a act for running his mouth at times? He wasn’t great a plenty things he’s a good kid. Humble, kind, helpful, compassionate and imaginative a lot. He’s always been a bit of a creative dreamer. But he was forgetful a times.
“Josh? Joshua, honey, how are we feeling?” She asked, before pulling out the rest of the stapler she wanted to make sure he was okay.
He seemed to zone out, looking down for a moment he half smiled and repiled, “Mhm hmm..I’m..I’m alright.”
“What is it? I’m trying not to make it be too painful, bubba.”
“Just um..I have my mind on a lot of stuff..”
“School? Friends?”
“..a bit more than that.”
She kept his mind distract simply talking as she removed the other end of the stapler, adding pressure to the wound with gauze, he moaned and grunted at the sudden feeling. She hushed his winced with a couple of smoothing hums.
“You’re a trooper.” She said with a smile, “I had an old man scream out in pain and whimper yesterday when I removed a splinter.”
That made Joshua chuckled brightly as his face light up a soft smile and replied, “Wow.”
“There’s a pretty smile. You’re gonna be fine, honey.”
“Sorry..”
“For what?”
“You were probably heading on a break or something..”
“No it’s fine, I’m here to help. That’s what matters. Now mind telling me what’s on my patient’s mind?”
“I was just thinking about..no one has ever treated me this kindly before. I won’t ever know if my own parents would’ve been this..”
“Hey look at me.”
He hesitated for a moment before meeting her eyes again for the 3rd time.
She gently lay a finger underneath his chin as she softly grin and said, “Look at where you are now. No one is perfect but all that matters that you are okay, safe and sound..I only met you twice and I can tell you are a good kid. Whoever you’re parents are, they gave you up to give you the best chance possible..”
His eyes watered slightly with big eyes as he sucked in a breath, “Sometimes I think I’m not worth all of this..I have spend years searching for my parents..nothing came up.”
“Maybe you weren’t looking in the right place, sweetie..”
He chuckled dryly remembering the tales of Snow White being the kind women, seeing the good in others and caring yet strong. Hardworking at best, her words try to be honest with whoever can came across. It was like for a moment Amelia slipped into that side of herself, talking to her child who needed a pick-me-up or something.
“You sound like a mom..I know you lost you’re memories in the accident but were you at some point a figure to someone?” He asked with a glimmer of hope in his eyes.
She smiled taking a breath thinking for a moment as she replied, “I had a sister when I was younger..I remember that. But I always wanted to be mom..I would remember if I was one..why?”
“It’s silly..but you just feel like you were one.”
“Well if you ever need anything, you can always knock on my door. I’m always at the diner.”
“R-really?”
“Yeah. But if you do something dumb that will get us trouble, that’s why you live with Nik and not me.”
He nodded laughing thinking she’s not half bad. They were talking the whole time, he forgot about the pain and didn’t even notice the fact that she wrapped his small wound after applying pressure. She left for a moment and brought paperwork asking for his full name. Just as a Joshua was about to say his full name a voice stood out from the room.
“Joshua C. Nolan.” Said the voice.
The light brunette looked up at the voice with ginger brown curls, a thick yet welcoming accent and piercing blue eyes. He held a smile to his tone walking in to greet the boy in which he shook his head. Josh was a little surprise that this man knows his name, but he wondered how much.
Tumblr media
Amelia watched the two of them asking, “D-do you know each other?”
The ginger turned around and grinned, “Why, in a way yes darling. Cole, nice to meet ya.”
“Ah yes. Cole. I heard about you. You run the cozy little pond shop downtown. Are you here to pick him up?”
“Mhm hmm. His guardian was wondering where he was and I came to make sure if he was alright. He originally came here for flyers and a first aid kit but ended up hurt. You alright, love?”
Josh realized the last part was directed to him as he nodded with a smile. Something about him was calming with a sense of mischief to him, like he shouldn’t exactly trust him but he does. Amelia nodded at Cole and boy deciding to believe what was going on, having Cole sign the forms real quick. As he did, she gave the boy her phone number on a piece of paper before releasing them both to the streets of the town.
As they entered the streets of the town, the two were silent. Cole watched him as they walked to his shop, noticing how much he looked like his parents. He couldn’t help but smirk. He led them inside closing the door behind them, grabbing two glasses of water as he moved to the back of his shop behind closed doors.
‘Ok I’ll play. How do you know my name?”
“Ah yes your name, Joshua Christoper Colton…Nolan.”
“Christoper Colton? Are you drunk?”
“A little Vodka this morning but I’m good as day.”
“Wait how do you know my middle name? I don’t even know it…”
“Ohh right you don’t! It’s funny really. Your mom wanted Christopher but I REALLY wanted Colton. So I combined them in my head to save both side of the coin the trouble. At the end of the day I’m wrong, she’s right. But we both know we’re be arguing about that til the dawn of time.”
“I’m sorry what?” Josh asked trying to make sense of all that is going on.
Cole slumped, “You may got your father’s looks and smart impulse but you got your mother slow ass brain.”
“Hey!”
“Don’t worry, it’s cute, she knows I kid about that.”
“How do you know my mother?”
“Ohh! I forgot to introduce myself. Two lives smashing together in one head. I’m Cole Morgan. Also known as..”
“Rumpelstiltskin…”
“Ahh so you heard of me. Good, your brain is picking up speed, love. Me and your parents are good friend. I’m also your uncle.”
“M-my what?”
“You’re uncle dearie. Well one of your uncles. You got a few aunties and uncles that you’ll find out about later.”
“If you’re my uncle and you know my parents…tell me something I do know.”
Cole grinned this time and chuckled, “You’re a bit of artist, well versed in pop culture it’s how you and Bella were able to solve a few cases around town with Ethan, you love coffee but prefer hot chocolate with the tiny marshmallows..oh and my favorite, carry around a keychain with a tiny monkey on it.”
The man also explained how he knew what is going on in the town, if they needed anything he is one to call but don’t ever push him too far or he will bite. Joshua blinked thinking that he was stalker but then remember that his town is weirder than expected and his parents are from another land.
He sighs, “..I like bears too.”
“Mhm yeah I noticed the patches on your backpack of a little old bear. It’s cute. I like to think I had a thing to do with it too.” He added with a shrug with smiling softly.
“What do you want from me?”
“I’ve been watching you and Belladonna for a while now. She seems fine by all accounts for now, but you’re the one who is acting weird lately. I understand the reason why, don’t need to explain it, but your doubting yourself here. You’re meant to be here right now.”
“You’re the 3rd person to say that to me today.”
“I know. Give it time and you’ll see what I mean. Now go on, I have business to attend to.”
“But I—“
“I said my piece. I have spoken, goodbye, nephew.”
The boy took a sip of the water looking over his shoulder oddly then left.
~~~~~
He felt like a hurricane rushed though him, so many things are happening and it felt like he can’t catch his breath. First the bubbling feelings of his past come to surface, then he hurts himself by accident and how he has a showcase of skills he didn’t know he had with pushing his father into combing two separate careers into one. He might throw up from the headache he’s having.
He took a breath, adding pressure to his hand and exhales knowing he had to keep going soon it will be all over. He stepped inside the building that was being redesigned with walls being torn down and others being put up. He was surprised to see what resulted in his plan. But what surprised him was the very fact that it wasn’t just Ethan, Marlene and Nik helping to put the place in order but Rochelle, Rick and Melissa lending a helping hand.
Some kids were helping out with drawing designs for the wall, carrying paint cans, holding up wood for the adults. He knew it wasn’t gonna be finished all in one day but so far this was an amazing start. He noticed Bella lending a few tips and tricks, watching over the kids as he decided to join her. She noticed his hand was wrapped up as he shrugged telling her that he will talk to her about it later. She nodded with a very light smile raising an eyebrow guessing what might’ve happened to him.

————————
Days turned into nights as the town each took time out of their day to lend a helping hand. Things were going smoothly, days after day things got prettier for the store. Civilians of the town came to pitch ideas, raise the banners and lift some newfound furniture.
Marlene and Nik’s place couldn’t look more better, getting the update it desired for years. It was late in the afternoon, as Joshua was organizing chairs outside the Cafe-Tattoo Parlor or as the owners liked to call it M&N’s Star Lounge, with Riley and the twins. Amelia, Jeremy, Liane, Luna and the others were indoors having drinks with the rest of the customers meanwhile others were getting tattoos done. The younger members were called inside by their parents as Joshua gave a soft smile. That was when Nikolai entered with extra flowers to place on the tables.
He noticed the look on his face and walked over, “What’s the matter?”
“I uh, just have been wondering lately was all of this worth it..” He admitted, knowing he meant something else.
“It is, Josh. You kickstarted something amazing here, hell, you deserve a whole week of free coffees and donuts on the horse for what you did.”
“And a free piercing?”
“Don’t get that excited. Whatever it is that is going on, you can tell me.”
“Um..”
He thought about it for a spilt second but it would sound insanely weird out here in public, beside a part of him believed he wouldn’t exactly come to his senses yet. But he could try, later on when things settled down.
He bit his lip and half smiled, “I’ll tell you at home.”
Nik wanted to say something, seeing something in Joshua as he hesitated, as if he saw himself for a moment. But before he could added that piece of information, Rick called for them to come inside as he turned on the lights to the storefront, as the two rushed inside watching the sign bright up the streets officially announcing to the night sky they were more than open for business.
Little did they all know, there was one customer who wasn’t invited nor dared to step inside as he walked past the street sign. He scoffed taking a glance noticing the kids with their respected adults inside the cafe all smiling. He made him sick, no one was supposed to be that happy over some stupid plain old cup of coffee and some saggy stack of art on the wall that could be printed on their body.
His eyes darted to each one of the adults and youngsters inside the store, from Jeremy to the freaking twins. His eyes landed on his brother and forgettable wife, who he sadly doesn’t remember a blasted thing about. None of them did.
Someone cleared their throat, standing beside him. He dropped his gaze over to the ginger man dressed in nothing but a black coat and a beanie for the cold weather.
He clutched his teeth at the man’s smirk as he asked, “What you looking at?”
“I’m looking at you.” He replied with the smirk plastered on his face like a big ol’ ‘you’re gonna lose’ tattoo on his forehead.
“Hilarious. What do you want?”
“More like, what is that you want mister mayor. You townsfolk look calm, collected and enjoying themselves, isn’t that what supposed to happen?”
“Not when I’m the one who isn’t. Who put this whole shit together? Those middling teens? That rounding adults?”
“I would say that it were the adults idea, yes. My husband did have a hand in building the sign, crafty man isn’t he?”
The older brute just glared, “Who did this?”
“I think you already know.” He added shaking his head as his teeth shined in the streetlights.
“Belladonna and his friend..first her mother, then her father..what’s next?”
“That’s up to you, but I wouldn’t go too far in your plan. Because from where I’m standing, everyone is in high spirts. All as it should be. Now if you resume to glare under the pole you’re standing under, I’m going to grab myself a donut. Goodbye, your highest”
That one word caused Alexander to add pressure to his teeth, realizing this man was awake from his damn curse, and if was, then there was a chance others were too. It made him wonder if Cassie, or any one of the adults have gotten their grip on reality yet…
Cole stepped away smirking as he hummed a tune he heard on the radio, “The winner takes it all. The loser has to fall..”
“Who’s the boy?” Alexander barked back.
“Hm?”
“Don’t play coy with me, Morgan. Who’s Bella’s friend? Mr. Nolan..”
“I thought you would’ve guessed by now, but I guessed not.”
“What are you..”
“I guess someone has been drinking the hard liquor lately.”
Alexander was quiet for a moment recounting his week, Joshua’s face to his whole act. The eyes, his nose, the hair, and his form of deciding to go against his ways of thinking to form something else. The shy looks he gave along with the very fact that he came alone with a parental figure. He closed his eyes shaking his head, his brother’s kid.
Snow and Charming’s son.
He was surprised he didn’t get that fact sooner. All of these guys children were here and standing from Cinderella to Ace Of Heart’s offspring, it should’ve been obvious to him.
He knew with all the families coming together, friends becoming partners in crime and the rules changing beneath his feet. Soon they will be woken up from their slumber and railing against him as he was petty imagine of his former self.
No magic, only the glares, threats and ties to the town to back him up. He would be doom, unless he made a few little distractions and reached underneath those people’s sense of hope, choking them into darkness.
He already had a few subjects in mind to break two birds with one stone. He already had Ethan and his loved ones in mind. If one falls, the others start crumbling into pieces just as easily as they were built to begin with.
Starting with his nephew…

That’s all folks! Tell me what do you think about?

Halloween Night at Freddy’s (Pizzaplex) [Act Two]
Prequel fic to Christmas With A Freddy by ShadowBelle23 (Me) on AO3.
Since Evan is now being called Dave. I know that some people think that Cassidy is the crying child and Afton’s son while Dave is the fifth victim of Afton. No, it’s vice versa because of Princess Quest.
Since there’s already a living child character in this fanfic called Dave, I’ll leave the name Evan alone. Also, I wrote this fanfic a year ago and I’m going through it now to polish it up compared to the original AO3 post.

*The Next Day*
Max was in Skylands with Ro-bow at his side, he had called a meeting with some of the Portal Masters that were available. If some didn’t show up, he was content with it as long as the word got out. So far, it’s just him, Isabel, Rachel, Crystal, Amelia, Jamie, Gin and Elliott.
They currently sit in one of the spare living rooms that the Academy has. Max understands that this isn’t a typical “Skylands in danger” reason to be serious, so Master Eon wasn’t with them.
“So, I’ve gathered you all here today. I know that we usually do meetings for serious Save Worlds situations, but today isn’t it,” Max says as they listen. “Recently, my friend Dave and I went to Freddy’s Pizzaplex and we discovered an abandoned animatronic underground. We believe she’s having emotional trauma about herself for feeling abandoned and unwanted. She even shooed me and my friend away with slight aggression. But even if we’re not Portal Masters saving worlds, we know in our hearts it’s right to help another in need.”
They all nodded in agreement and Max showed them the pamphlet. “Glamrock Freddy told me that they’re doing a Halloween special for customers to stay there overnight like a sleepover. When the place closes and everyone leaves, the whole building is ours to do as we please. We could bring our Skylander friends to help out looking for her,” Max continues.
“Her?” Rachel asks curiously.
“She doesn’t have a proper name. She was given 1Z-2Y, so we named her Onesie. I think she was supposed to be a human Glamrock animatronic but I guess she never made it to the Final Cut after being built, therefore forgotten by the company,” Max clarifies.
“Ouch, talk about getting a hard kick to the shin by rejection,” Jamie winces.
“I’m in, I would like to enjoy a day to forget about work to get the Taylor Swift songs out of my head,” Isabel admits.
Everyone laughs. They have known Isabel long enough to know that when it comes to working at the movie theater, they know sometimes she ends up getting the end credit songs stuck in her head if there are lyrics. Even the annoyingly catchy ones. But because of the Eras Tour, it’s nothing but songs playing in multiple theaters.
“I love Taylor Swift. Bless her heart. But I feel like I’m losing my sanity constantly hearing her songs,” Isabel continues, and everyone continues laughing. “I’m serious, I’m at this point that I’m going to have to look up song titles from the span of seven years I’ve heard from the end credits to make a Spotify playlist just to get her out of my head.”
“I’m in for it, staying overnight at a business sounds fun,” Rachel admits.
“And we’re not getting in trouble for it,” Jamie adds. Since people in the past have either successfully or failed to stay overnight at a business since after closing hours makes it trespassing or “breaking and entering” some would stay.
“I’m in!” Crystal says. “Sounds like fun.”
Amelia, Gin, and Elliott look at the pamphlet. Amelia was on her phone trying to see how much the reservation was. Because something like that isn’t cheap. Sure enough, Amelia squeaked as her eyes widened in shock. She showed her phone to Gin and Elliott, they were shocked as well before she showed the others. Matching the same expression too when they saw the price.
“Dang,” Isabel says in surprise. “That’s a lot more bucks than a private reservation party for the Eras screening.”
“How on Earth are we gonna come up with that amount of money in a short period? Some of us that have jobs don’t have the affordability for that!” Rachel then asks.
“I know that Mags can turn treasure here into authentic Earth money, but I don’t know if I have enough treasure saved for this sort of thing,” Jamie admits.
(I know they could ask the Golden Queen for help but they don’t want to take advantage and abuse her power like that.)
Even the others agreed with Jamie. That is until they heard Isabel take a deep calm breath in and they looked at her. “I may have years worth of treasure put to the side,” Isabel admits.
“How much?” Gin asks curiously and Isabel makes a thinking sound. “Honestly, I’d rather show you,” she says. Which made everyone intrigued. They quickly went to the house she shared with Rattle Shake, they went into the living room and Isabel moved the furniture using her Chaos Emerald and uncovered the floor from a rug.
She turns her knife into a crowbar to reveal a hidden latch door that camouflages with the floor. Revealing an underground “bunker” of sorts. Rachel immediately goes down in the hole first. It wasn’t too deep and she could easily climb out.
“Isabel!” She exclaims in awe at what she witnessed. “You have ten Imaginite Chests full of treasure?!”
All of her friends look at her and she gives a smug look. “What better way to reuse them? And it’s not just treasure from Skylands, there’s thousands of gold rings from Sonic’s world too,” Isabel says. “Besides, I’m now curious about how much I’ve gotten in Earth money now.”
Her friends squeal in glee. After getting one of the chests to Mags, it was enough to pay for the Halloween reservation and more that they added to the package deal as a treat. Thankfully those who have jobs were able to get the day off for it.
*October 31st 2023*
The day finally came and it was Halloween. They got there around opening time and an employee greeted them inside. “Hello everyone, my name is Carol and I’m your Faz-tenant for your room today,” the employee greets herself. “If you’ll follow me, please, I’ll guide you to your room.”
So they do reluctantly. Their party room is like a large hotel suite with a large living space with beds in a different room. It was decently decorated with Halloween and Fall decor.
“This is your party suite for you to stay and relax whenever you feel the need to. Our employees will not enter here during your stay so you won’t feel disturbed unless you ask for provided services or have any concerns about the room. But, we do care about your safety here for your overnight stay,” Carol continues and opens a closet with a metal briefcase in it and hands Rachel it.
“This contains your access key Fazbands to your suite, there’s even trackers in them so the animatronics can find you throughout the Pizzaplex. There’s even a health detection concern security, HDCS, in case of emergencies if you’re having an allergic reaction, stroke, seizure, high blood pressure, sudden fatigue, or any serious health concerns and the band will immediately send an alert to 911. And please do not lose or break the bands, they’re not cheap to replace.”
“Don’t worry, I added a down payment in case of accidents,” Isabel adds. “Thank you, Carol.”
“You’re welcome,” she says before remembering something before she decides to leave. “Also you’re welcome to come and leave the Pizzaplex as long as you wear your band in case of emergencies or if you want to just leave for something. Anyways, I’ll leave you guys to your fun, Superstars.”
“Speaking of Superstars, is there anyone coming to the Daycare today?” Isabel asks curiously. Carol pursed her lips and checked her clipboard. “I don’t think so, nothing has been scheduled or called in. It is Halloween and kids will be trick or treating,” Carol says.
“Can Sun hang out with us? If no one is coming to the Daycare today, I don’t want poor Sun being stuck in Daycare with no one to talk to and with no one to have fun with,” Isabel then explains.
“Fair,” Carol says, agreeing with her. “I will allow it, but if someone does have to leave a child in Daycare, he has to go back to his work, okay?” Isabel then nods. “Alright, have fun, Superstars.” Then she leaves.
“Aw, typical Izzy being the generous one,” Rachel smiles.
“I’m right, you know. Halloween is the one time of the year when kids will be with their parents away from home. So having the Daycare open today is kinda pointless. Besides, I don’t want to leave bored people away from having a good time,” Isabel admits.
Rachel then opens the briefcase on the coffee table and inside are various bands with a simple one-color pallet or is designed for a certain character’s color palette. “Ooh, dibs on this one!” Isabel says, gladly taking the Sun/Moon band.
Rachel chuckles and decides to have a band to match her Chaos Emerald including Jamie. Crystal chose mint green while Amelia chose a yellow one with pearl white accents. Gin chose cyan and Elliott chose a powdered black.
“I wish they had the Sun/Moon one separately. I would have chosen Moon and you can be Sun,” Elliott tells Isabel.
“Nah, Amelia would be Sun because of her element,” Isabel says and Elliott lightly laughs at that statement with Amelia. “But I agree, Elliott.”
Currently, Max and Dave are having a Rock, Paper, Scissors battle over the Freddy and Monty bands. “You know, you could flip a coin to see who gets what,” Isabel tells them before handing them a quarter. “Freddy is heads. Monty is tails. Someone makes the call without looking at what side will the coin is up. Depends on who’s right or wrong will get said band.”
“Easy,” Max says and lets Dave flip the coin. “I chose heads.” Dave flips and heads is up. Max gets Freddy and Dave gets Monty.
Everyone then leaves their belongings as they go to have fun. Isabel decides to go into the Daycare to find Sun via a big slide into the ball pit. After getting up, she looks around and doesn’t see Sun anywhere. “Hello?! Sun?! Are you here?!” Isabel calls out to him.
She then sees Sun jump off from his balcony and into the ball pit before emerging from it. Then he sees her. “Well hello there, I wasn’t expecting a visitor to come to my domain this early. Do you plan on leaving any kids here soon? So far, my databanks tell me no one is coming in today,” he says, sounding slightly disappointed at the last bit.
“Sadly no. I’m one of the overnight visitors today for Halloween. I talked to Carol and she’s allowing you to be dismissed from your job to have fun with us until someone comes to drop off a child,” Isabel says before holding out her hand. “I’m Isabel, you can call me Izzy if you wish.”
“Aw, thank you,” Sun says, charmingly holding her hand and gently shaking it. “I’ve always liked Carol. But I’m supposed to stay here in case any kids show up and I’m not allowed to leave.”
“Sun, you’re dismissed until otherwise. Besides, there’s kids in our group anyways so you won’t be missing out,” Isabel says. “And if you still refuse, I’ll carry you out myself.”
“You don’t have to do that,” Sun chuckles. “Let me just get my security badge quickly.” He then walks to the desk to get his special badge with a lanyard attachment. “I can’t leave this behind, it’s too important to leave around in the open.”
As Sun was about to grab his badge, Isabel saw a blinking green light before he snatched it. “What was that?” Isabel asks curiously.
“My AI reader. Whenever I want to take my badge, I have to scan my AI first as a safety protocol. Because if someone like you snatches it without my AI scan, the lights in the Daycare will turn off and Moon will come out to hunt for the badge to retrieve it back,” Sun explains before approaching Isabel. “Since you got Carol to dismiss me, you will be my trusted Czar of my card until I need it back. But you have to promise to never use its power without my granted permission or to ever take it off.”
“I promise, Sun,” Isabel says and they pinky promise to it. Then she allows Sun to put it around her neck like a medallion of honor. She is sincere in keeping this trust.
The two walk out of the Daycare, hand in hand, and they find Isabel’s friends talking to the Glamrocks at the stage area. Guess Max was introducing his animatronic friends to the Portal Masters. Guess they heard them coming since they turned to see them. “And that’s Isabel,” Max says to Freddy and his band.
“It’s nice to meet all of you,” Freddy says and his band members agree. Then the bear sees Sun. “But Sun, aren’t you supposed to be in your area?”
“Yes, but Isabel got Carol to dismiss me. For now, until someone decides to drop off their kid. Highly unlikely today, but I’m willing to join the fun,” Sun says cheerfully.
“He made me his card Czar until he needs it back. I promised to not use it without his granted permission,” Isabel adds. “And to never take it off. I’ve been told it’s important.”
“I’m glad you’re a friend to Sun,” Freddy then smiles. “And letting him join you guys, he doesn’t get out of the Daycare much.”
“That is true,” Sun sheepishly admits. “But, I’m excited to see every inch of this place as possible.” He chuckles.
“But also be wary of The Blob too,” Monty adds. “It usually doesn’t leave the underground when we’re busy, but it’s best to warn you in case you come across it.”
The group nods and considers the warning. They then take off in different directions while the band gets ready for today. “So Sun, any thoughts on where you want to go first?” Isabel asks, and Sun shakes his head.
“I’ve never left the Daycare for fun or leisure before,” he admits.
“That’s okay, we can play Fazer Blast together,” Isabel smiles. “It will be fun.”
“And the card?” Sun asks in concern, not wanting her to lose it or let it fall off.
“I know you said not to take it off, but I can tuck it into my supportive garment for safety,” she assures Sun. “Don’t worry, I’m clean, my garment is clean. If I sweat on it, I can replace the lanyard and wash the card.” Knowing he can be a bit germaphobic.
“Thank you,” Sun sighed contentedly before they went there. The employee there almost denied Sun playing if it wasn’t for Carol. Probably because the place was dark enough for Moon to be triggered to come out.
Thankfully Sun assures the employee that as long as there is some light, Moon can’t come out. They were the only ones there, usually, they would start the game if there were more people. But Carol let the two play together.
While they watched the video, Sun and Isabel decided to role-play for the game. They continued with the space theme, Sun is an alien protector of the galaxy called Supernova, and Isabel is Dr. Mars. An evil mad scientist with the desire to become the God of the Milky Way.
Sun’s keycard that Isabel has. Is the keycard for Dr. Mars’ destruction of Earth to conquer it. The only way to stop Dr. Mars’ missiles from destroying countries is if Sun captures all of Isabel’s flags before the countdown launch ends.
To be honest, Isabel didn’t care if she lost during role-play. She wanted Sun to be happy. She proceeded to play, capturing Sun’s flags until she soon realized they each had one flag standing. Isabel decides to defend her only flag and sees Sun approaching. “Give it up, Dr. Mars!” He says triumphantly. “Your reign is coming to an end and I will make sure justice will be served!”
Cheesy, guess he’s not familiar with acting and action movies to come up with a good line. But it can be pardoned, he’s a Daycare attendant, not an actor. Before Isabel says anything, all the lights in Fazer Blast go out; audio, their suits, everything. And Sun starts to freak out. Then Isabel heard the PA squeal, hoping it was a sign of employee concern that they could fix. But it was not, instead, Isabel hears this;
“In shadows deep, Isabel, beware.
The Moon's cold gaze, your life laid bare.
A serial killer's eerie song in darkness chill,
Isabel, your fate, he longs to fulfill.”
A female sing song voice while Sun resists Moon from coming out. He fails before hearing him change. Using her phone light, she sees Moon in all his glory.
“Naughty, Naughty,” Moon tisks at her, taking the Fazer Blast suit off. “You must be punished.” Isabel didn’t bother to ask why or what for. Moon is unhinged and after her. She starts parkouring across from above rather than dealing with the maze structure below. Moon decides to do the same thing too to follow her. Out of all the robots she fought and destroyed, this one, she cannot.
She was okay with Moon following her as long as she was out of reach to bring him into the light. If Moon refuses, she can use her powers to bring him out. She runs out of Fazer Blast, past the employee who is confused as to why the lights are off and running. But when Moon came out, they quickly put two and two together and went away.
Isabel was soon out in the light of the Pizzaplex while Moon stalked in the shadows at the entryway of Fazer Blast. Isabel checks her surroundings and no one is around, so she uses her Emerald to force Moon out telepathically. It works but he still resists. Once he was out in the light, Moon switched back to Sun.
“Rule breaker! Rule breaker! You’re banned from the Daycare!” Sun says angrily as his programming kicks in before he realizes where he is.
“Isabel, did the lights…?”
“Yeah.”
“Did Moon…?”
“No.”
He then sighs in relief.
“Do you remember what happened after switching?” Isabel then asks curiously.
“Besides the light turning off? No,” Sun says.
“Then is Moon listening?” She then asks.
“Yeah, he’s always listening,” Sun admits, then he was quiet like he was listening. “Moon asked if you heard someone singing over the PA.”
“How could I not? It was creepy. How did they know we were in there, and how did they know my name?” Isabel then wonders curiously.
“I don’t know, as much as I loved having that short amount of fun with you, I’d feel better at the Daycare knowing that there isn’t a creepy person trying to harm people,” Sun admits and Isabel understands.
“Then I’m sorry your fun was short-lived, Sun,” she then says sadly.
“Don’t be, I had a great time. I just don’t want to risk Moon coming out again. He’s quite unpredictable and chaotic and I don’t know what he’ll do if he’s out again.” He says assuringly before pausing. “You can be sometimes.” That was directed towards Moon.
Isabel chuckles. “How about you take a break in your area? It sounds like whenever you change, it’s painful to you. And don’t worry, I will warn my friends of what’s going on.”
“Okay,” Sun sighs before cheering himself up again. “I will not let this get me down, for you and your friends, Izzy.”
Isabel smiles and gives him back his keycard and returns the vests and blaster to Fazer Blaster. Isabel then frowns in worry as she goes to find her friends. The only person that knew she and Sun were in there was Carol. Did Carol turn off the lights on purpose? And was that her over the PA? Something suspicious was going on and she didn’t like it.
She found her friends in the arcade together, she didn’t know if it was a good idea to speak out loud of what just occurred to her. She didn’t know if Carol was listening.
“Rachel. Jamie. Didn’t you get my text?” Isabel asks and Rachel looks at her confused.
“What text?” Rachel asks and Isabel then sends her message to Jamie and Rachel in a group text. They both looked at their phones as they heard their text ringtones. Reading the text she sent about what happened at Fazer Blaster.
“Okay, we’ll be careful,” Jamie says. “And we’ll let the others know.”
“I’m gonna be at the suite. I’m not used to danger being thrown at me when I’m in a comfortable environment,” Isabel sighs.
“Alright,” Rachel says and looks at her phone, not even noon yet. “At noon, we’ll eat lunch together. Afterward, bring Sun to the suite, we’ll need to come up with a plan to figure out what’s going on and who’s doing this.”
Isabel nods and hugs them before leaving. Jamie then sighs in frustration. “The one day I was hoping to have a break from heroism,” he says in exasperation.
“Sadly I don’t think this is something we can blow off and ignore,” Rachel adds. “As long as there are bad people out there, we have to stand up against them. Especially if a bad person is targeting one of our friends.”
“I know,” Jamie sighs. The others weren’t happy either, saying the same thing as Jamie did. When lunch came, Isabel felt guilty even though it was not her fault. Causing her to stress eat her feelings.
“Isabel,” Gin says and slides her plate of brownies away from her. “It’s not your fault. You have nothing to blame yourself for.”
“Yeah!” Elliott agrees. “Besides, me and Gin betted how long it would be until we had to start doing our hero work.”
“Who lost?” Isabel asks and Gin raises his hand.
“Besides, October is serial killer season anyway. Who wouldn’t want to take down a Michael Myers wannabe anyway?” Gin adds. “We’re not gonna stay here overnight and twiddle our thumbs, knowing there’s a killer on the loose until someone is dead. We’ll take care of this together.”
“I guess I can repay you guys for a movie,” Isabel chuckles.
“You don’t have to repay us,” Amelia assures her. “But we won’t hesitate on that offer though. Now cheer up before we get Sun to tickle you until your lungs hurt.”
“Guys, not in public,” Isabel says bashfully with a slightly embarrassed tone which makes everyone laugh.
Once lunch was over, Isabel quickly got Sun and his badge. Then they went to meet their friends at the suite. Sitting together in the living room and looking at the map of the building’s layout. To keep their conversation private in case there is a hidden bug in the room, Isabel, Rachel, and Jamie use their Emeralds to create a magic static sound around the group to keep anyone from knowing their plans.
“So, what do we do in a situation like this?” Isabel asks. “There’s a psycho murderer on the loose. I may not watch a lot of horror films, but I do know it makes targeting us easier while apart. Unless that’s what they expect us to do.”
“But we don’t know what they’re planning,” Rachel says before looking at Crystal. “I know you can handle yourself. But I don’t wish for anything bad to happen to you, and I wish for you to stay with one of the Glamrocks while we work, okay?” Crystal nods, not arguing with her sister.
Rachel continues. “It’ll be me, Jamie, you, Amelia, Gin and Elliott. With Sun’s help if he wishes. While Dave and Max go find Onesie underground. Since Dave isn’t a Portal Master. Max, I want you to summon Ro-Bow to be with you to protect him and to help you in case you run into trouble underground.”
“I don’t mean to interrupt,” Gin says. “But this place is massive. How are the seven of us going to cover so much ground while trying not to get killed?”
“We have access to the security feed in the cameras. We can keep an eye on the footage of which rooms you’re not in,” Sun informs. “With my badge, I can have access to emergency communicators we have that you guys can talk to each other with.”
“Like special walkie-talkies?” Dave asks and Sun nods.
“Okay, that solved one problem,” Rachel sighs in relief. “Isabel, you can patrol around the arcades. I will stay at Monty’s while Jamie is at Roxy’s Raceway. Amelia goes to Chica’s Mazereise. Gin at Bonnie Bowl and Elliott at Fazer Blast.”
“Since it’s Halloween, the building will close at nine,” Sun continues to inform them. “Because of how slow it is, I’m sure they will be gone soon after.”
“Then we grab the communicators and split,” Isabel nods. “For now, we wait.”
That was the hard part. Time anxiously ticking by felt slow, by the time it was three PM, they did everything they could at the Pizzaplex to keep themselves entertained until their options dwindled. So they made the reasonable choice; sleep. If they were going to deal with a serial killer, they’re going to need all the rest they can get.
