So I just watched the premier of Arcane Season 2…

I saw someone talk about how Neil would be a perfect criminal, I mean the guy got Ichirou to kill Riko after a 5 minute conversation in the back of a parked car, you’re really telling me he wouldn’t kill every standing Moriyama and get away with it?

I mean his father was the butcher….

The experience of reading Where The Red Fern Grows as a child and feeling deeply about it; and spending years wishing you could have a dog (that wasn’t allowed on the bed, but when mom isn’t looking you let them up and the two of you fall asleep curled up together like littermates) and wanting to run wild with them through the woods, to feel the blood pound in your legs and your breath fog the air as the two of you live the ancient kinship of Humans and Dogs;

But there are no woods to run through; and the police will ticket you for even having a dog on a leash in many places; god forbid the two of you run wild and free; and besides your mom had to leave your dad for your safety so she’s always tired trying to raise you and doesn’t have the energy to raise a dog too so you never get one;

And the decades pass and you forget how badly you wanted it, gradually forget you even wanted it at all, as your dreams shrink smaller and smaller with each lean year;

And one day you finally make it out of the city and you meet a woman and fall in love and she has a dog and it looks just like the one that used to live in your dreams and it falls in love with you as much as she does and the woman says things like wow she’s never like this she must really like you as the dog curls up next to you to sleep, as if you had once been littermates;

And one day the woman gives you a child and it has your eyes and it laughs like you and cries like you and you fall in love with this strange little Human who makes your faces back at you and you teach them how to run and how to say “dog!”

And one day you’re walking in the woods with this little person who looks out at the world through eyes so very like yours and you find that they are running with your dog and they are wild and joyful and free in the ancient kinship of Dog and Human and-

I Love you, little one.

Max works in middle management at a major credit reporting bureau. His day to day would make me cry but he’s good at it and comfortable there. He started right out of college at about 22-23, because a friend of his fathers worked there (it’s always who you know, not what you know 🙄) and worked up to a management position which has its perks and its drawbacks, as always.

In the Scry AU he is still in a sales role where he sells insurance packages to businesses and the company is called Spartan, but it’s never named in the original series.

No mega corp is going to do anything Willy nilly. Bud light giving samples to a trans influencer was a calculated move. They spend MILLIONS every year to keep a pulse on the market.

This means two things.

First off, they knew it would cause controversy and that is free publicity

But

The controversy would come from a small group because the overwhelming majority wouldn’t be bothered by it, in fact it would likely to cause brand loyalty if the group outraged are horrible enough.

To me, it’s hopeful for our trans siblings because Bud knew more people would be ok with a trans spokesperson than not.

I feel it’s a step in the right direction.

Leftists and anyone who is complaining about Barbie’s lack hitting your mark of what is saying something…you’re gonna hate this but Barbie is not for you!!! The message seems watered down to a lot of people who are extremely current with gender politics and what the patriarchy means because it’s for the mainstream… it’s for the mothers who haven’t been in school in the past five years, who aren’t chronically online, etc.

It’s getting the main point out to a wider audience than potentially ever before and I think that’s important
