Tawky Tawny in the DCEU is by all accounts a regular kitten... how do you imagine him getting powers? or do you think they'll meet a talking tiger who reminds them of their cat and doesn't have a name yet? (he needed more screentime)

Honestly, i think that the DCEU was just name dropping Tawky Tawny for Easter egg brownie points. But if we assume that kitten does become the Tawky Tawny we know and love, I think that he would get his powers/anthropomorphic features via the magic of the Rock of Eternity.

One possibility is that they bring kitten Tawny to the Rock, but he gets loose and somehow manages to be affected by a loose magical item the Shazamily didn't think to secure or he ends up going through one of the doors to a world that is full of anthropomorphic animals and gets transformed into one. By the time the Shazamily find him, he's already been outfitted with a suit and is happily partaking in "human" activities so they make sure he gets to stay in his new form.

(I also agree he deserved more screentime)
