(this was from my kotlc adults hc's post. got kind of offtrack and most of this is based off no canon at all)

HOW ACCURATE WAS I? :D

ELWINN

a-hem. elwin's parents fought a lot and didn't pay much attention to him :(

he had a cousin named amarelle sencen

she was a couple years older than him and they were so close :D

elwin spent most of his time at amarelle's house

when he was 15 and amarelle was 18, amarelle's parents had another child

elwin was happy, he had another cousin :D

the child was named cassius (>:D)

amarelle moved out after she completed elite levels (she was an empath~)

elwin's parents literally forgot he existed most of the time so he moved in with amarelle

cassius was 2 at this point and ANOTHER child was born (elwin had another cousin!)

the name..? ahah no.

elwin saw his aunt and uncle a lot, and cassius looked up to him.

elwin babysitted cassius and the mystery child a heap, until he went to elite levels

it was around then he began to take an interest in physician and doctory stuff (look at me using scientific words /jj)

amarelle supported him every step of the way

she gave him a stegosaurus stuffed animal

he named it stinky >:D

elwin was so grateful for that he began to grow a stuffed animal collection

but stinky was always his most favourite

elwin went and got qualifications after elite levels and stuff

but he still lived with amarelle

she owned a place called splendour plains

amarelle was working as a jeweller, she often made jewellry for elwin to wear

(also when keefe was temporarily living in splendour plains, amarelle still owned it but elwin knew that the two of them had never met so he claimed it was his own house. amarelle was on a trip with a close friend while keefe was there.)

amarelle didn't have the best relationship with cassius

but she showed up to the opening ceremonies thing for Foxfire when he became a Level one :D

elwin came as well

he cheered cassius on the whole time

elwin gave cassius a special stuffed animal after that (it may or may not still be in cassius possession~)

elwin began to get really busy and he didn't have much time to hang out with cassius and the mystery child

he managed to make it to the mystery child's first opening ceremony tho

he gave HER a stuffed animal as well >:3

it was a unicorn

she named it sparkles

bc she thought the name 'queen pink of all things pink' sounded kinda weird

mystery child loved pink :)

uhh this elwin part's gotten kind of long now-

elwin became foxfire's physician

mystery child always got fake-injured (or exaggerated her injuries) to come to the healing centre to see elwin

cassius would sometimes drop by during breaks with grady

elwin had recently gotten a blue elephant stuffed animal in a hawaiian shirt and he wanted to find the perfect person to give it to

it took years to find that person-

also aro/ace elwin :)

he doesn't wanna get involved with any romantic-y stuff

not for himself anyways

he gives the best romantic advice to cassius tho

and his other patients

especially one who got a really bad injury one time named kenric

he was pining over the mystery child

My own take on my backstory does differ a little. You got a few points right though - I’m estranged from my parents, lived with an older cousin when I first left home, and I’m aro/ace! But I think you have mistaken my youthful looks for actual youthfulness - I am at least two centuries older than Cassius (and, to the best of my knowledge, not related…).

If this is your own headcannon, I do not dissuade it in the least! I still enjoyed reading every point of your creativity and feel honoured that you clearly spent such time considering my humble self 🥰

I knew my list of headcannons would come in handy some day!! :)

Comfort king, he literally has more pillow than bed, squishmallows are the key to his heart. He has so many blankets, fluffy, soft and of course weighted because yk anxious boi.

He can also sleep anywhere, whether it’s an armchair, someone’s lap, at his desk/batcomputer. Anywhere. Hell, he canonically fell asleep on a roller coaster!

Loves K-pop. Loves the Korean culture, language etc etc

Follows 5 minute crafts religiously. Smudge on the wall? Put toothpaste on it! Phone fell on his face? Glue it to your hand!! Problem solved. Alfred considers consulting a therapist.

Loves sushi, it’s practically his favourite food.

Doesn’t have a good food pallet tho. Jason once walked in the pantry and found Tim eating a bread sandwich (three slices of bread stacked) Jason has still not recovered from that.

Surprisingly has a good sense of humour. (After hours of Meme searching) he can always come up with a ‘that reminds me of a joke’ in any scenario. Dick and Duke laugh at every one of them, the rest sigh and roll their eyes at this point. He also tends to use sarcasm.

Tech genius? Boring. How about won the Sims game. How do you even win that game? Nobody knows. But Tim was emailed by the ceo of the game, telling him he won and was offered a spot in games designs. He declined :/ bc WE has more benefits.

Hacked and removed himself from the FBIs wanted list

Collected sticks when he was younger and gave one to people he loves. (as mentioned in my answer to previous Ask about BatKid collections)

Once travelled to Scotland for a special perfume that only delivers to Scotland. He came back the next morning and no one noticed.

When he’s happy and having a good day he’ll smile constantly. Not a casual hey how you doin kind of smile, but a I’m glad I’m here with you kind of smile. (Young Justice members have seen this the most and it puts them all in a good mood)

He has a huge heart and cares so much about the well-being of others probably more than he cares about himself. He may not physically show it how Dick does, but he’ll send his family memes or pictures of baby animals or of their special interests when he feels something is off or that they are upset. They always appreciate it.

12. what is something their s/o does that makes them flustered?

Ooooh, ok - I think I half answered this by accident in another ask, but it was only one way Frank flusters Jodie.

So, yeah, Frank kissing her neck is one way. She's just very sensitive there.

Actually, if Frank was to kiss her in public, she'd be flustered (I think I've mentioned that they're not super OTT with PDA but sometimes they show it yk?)

OH, now, him being a little possessive over her, especially if someone was to flirt with her while he's around, him pulling her close and making it super obvious that they're a couple, that would fluster her too. (She likes it tho.)

If he made any sort of flirtatious innuendo, she'd probably get flustered by that, too. But she's be laughing as well. Like, she's covering her face, bright red, laughing while Frank is making these innuendos and he's genuinely funny about it too lol.

As for how Jodie would fluster him?

Being touchy-feely with him in front of people, when usually they're not like that (listen, sometimes they really can't keep their hands off each other). So, like, touching his chest, allowing her hand to glide up until it's resting on his shoulder, keeping that touch lingering. Yeah, he's like 👀

Eye contact. EYE CONTACT! For both of them but more so for Frank. I think her eyes are his favourite thing about her. Whenever she looks at him, keeping her eyes subtly on him, maybe in meetings, things like that, yeah he gets a little hot under the collar.

Ok sometimes when Jodie wants to kiss him, she'll do something where she'll like grab either a belt loop, his shirt, his tie if he ends up wearing one for something, and gently tug him to her. That drives him mad, like, that little show of dominance flusters him for a split second, but then he'll collect himself and he's like 'no no... I'm in charge' 👀👀

I'm literally feral over these two, someone help me.

15. how do they comfort one another when the other is upset?

So, I'm not sure if I've spoken about this before or if I have done so in detail but the vibe I always go with when there's upset is that Jodie doesn't do well with people trying to crowd her, being in her space etc. When upset (similarly when she's angry) she needs a second to catch her breath and get away from people. Not only that, but she hates crying in front of people, she thinks it's a weakness.

So, when Jodie is upset, Frank knows to give her some space, then go and check on her and ask if she wants anything. Usually, at that point, she'll just silently bid him closer and she'll want physical comfort. There's no words needed, nothing words can do to help, but having a hug from Frank? Just laying/sitting there in his arms? yeah, that's the best kind of comfort.

Frank would prefer if she just cried on his shoulder, even though I think he would personally struggle with people crying (it's a personal headcanon that Frank has no clue what to do to comfort criers but when it comes to Jodie or people he's particularly close to, it's different)

As for how Jodie would comfort Frank? I think Frank's upset would manifest as anger at first, that emotion masking how he's feeling because he's strong, he's a battle-hardened soldier/veteran (depending on where we are in the timeline) and he should be able to deal with how he's feeling. Showing upset ain't on the cards.

But, remember, Frank has canonically cried and so I think when his upset becomes too overwhelming to be masked by anger, he would cry. Jodie would normally give him space to cool off when angry, thinking 'if you're gonna be like that, then fine' unless she's able to talk with him and get to the bottom of the anger. But when it becomes that genuine upset? The tears? The trembling mess because Frank has reached a level of emotion that he can't contain? You bet Jodie would be glued to his side. She pull him to her, arms wrapped around him or wiping away his tears. She'd go straight into taking care of him and letting him know that she's there.

They can talk if he wants to, and sometimes they do. She'll listen to him if he needs to her, and sometimes they'll be laid for hours while Frank gets out everything that's built up inside him. And if Frank just wants to lay there, sit there, his arms securely around her like he'd lose her if he let go, then she'll stay.

I think we can agree that physical comfort is the common ground between them, anyway.

hii it's unorcadox ^_^ how does your editing process work!!! like how do you choose what images to use, how to combine them, how to get the right "feel" etc. 👀 very curious abt ur answer

Damn, great question! Also, love your edits, Orca! (also a bit jelous abt your productivity, wish i had so many great ideas) So i present to you: a wall of text! (cw really long!)

So, many people see a great base image and then immideately get an idea of what they wanna do w/ it. I'm not like that, i ususally have an idea of an edit in mind, and then search for sometimes a few hours for a base image that may work. I have a whole tutorial-worthy process of how i always find what i need, but i digress… Most of the times, tho, i get something better than what i had in mind. I love this process, cause it's like tresure hunting for me. (ofc it's not always like that, just most of the time. Since i have a giant collection of base images i may sometimes use them). I choose my images based on the mood i wanna portray. It's always supposed to be looking kinda dreamlike and unreal, but it can also be creepy, dark, bright, etc.

When editing my favourite style of edits - fake dreamlike places - I try to make them look as real as possible, regarding color, lighting, etc, while still making them look blatantly fake regarding the composition, subject matter, etc. Ofc i don't try to perfect my lighting, since it can take away the feeling i strive for, so it's kinda based on my own feelings idk. I get really inspired by the surrealists' painting. Artists like Brent Wong, for example. Liminal spaces are already weird, so why not make them even weirder, by making the geometry non-Euclidean and subject matter impossible in the real world. Also unlike surrealist painters, i have a luxiry of making the scene like "more real" by combining actual photos in photoshop. Ofc people have been making surreal art w/ 3d programs forever now, but it still doesn't give off the same feeling real picture does, yk.

Uhh... what was i talking about... Ah, yes! I firstly make a collage, that i have in mind by this point, and sometimes it just... doesn't work out! i had discarded so many great ideas, cause they weren't turning out good. But if it works, i add shadows and highlights. I look at real liminal space photos and try to really analyze them. Like, what makes them work? the color, the quality, the blurriness? Then i add effects that works to my edit. Every edit needs it's own level of compression, sharpness, blurriness... You just gotta feel it.

Really important step. I leave my edit for a few hours, so i forget how it looks, and then return later. All the imperfections, things that don't work, etc pop out immediately. I read somewhere that the process of creating and the process of analyzing are two completely different things, and i couldn't agree more. It's annoying when you have a finished edit, and you really wanna show it to the world, but you have to wait... But it's better, than being embarrassed later that you posted something unfinished and you can't fix it now.

Ofc i make text edits as well, but they basically serve the same purpose and not that interesting to describe, cause process is the same just with a few steps skipped.

There wasn't such question, but i still wanna talk about it, cause it kinda answers "how do you get the right feel". Well, why do i make edits? Well, the world sucks ass (i don't agree w/ this statement for the most part, like friends are great, nature is buitifull, but then there are parts that just... yk...) and for me weirdcore is a sort of an escapism. I can't traverse dreamworlds mindlessly, alone or come across magical events in real world, sadly. But I can make them however i would like them to look and feel, with my characters (like deer), and my own thoughts about them, that no one except me knows. It's kinda like i actually've been there, and i took a picture. Or hell, maybe i've never been here myself, but those deer were, or invisible creatures, that are not in the shot. And i know them personally, cause i made them, they are a part of myself! And it really helps, and i'm so glad these pictures resonate with so many more people here too! I had been making these pictures without realising why for a year. I had some thoughts and heard dozens of opinins of other pople, but i hadn't had a full picture. And then a video by SuperEyePatchWolf about liminal spaces comes out, and i get it now, it was really eye opening, for me at least. It explains really well why we love unreality so much.

Lily’s love life was a tragedy of epic proportions and she had no brilliant strategy. But a chance encounter ends in a one night stand that blows her mind and leaves her wanting more. There’s just one problem… she doesn’t even know his name.

B.) One More Sleep (currently hidden) Rated G, Sirius raising harry oneshot. Three year old Harry Potter is very eager to stay awake and catch Santa Claus delivering him presents.

C.) Call Me By Name Rated E, Jily AU. WIP Multichapter. After a not-so-great breakup with a not-so-great boyfriend, Lily comes to the conclusion that if you want something done right you have to do it yourself. Whether mechanically, hydraulically, or auditorily? She WILL find the key to that currently unreachable pleasure.

D.) Evans Guide To Quidditch (and seducing James Potter) Rated M, Hogwarts Jily, oneshot. It had all started out innocently enough, a small wager between housemates on the outcome of the Arrows Vs Catapults game over the weekend. Lily hadn't intended to let slip she knew more about quidditch than she was letting on. Or to set up a fantasy quidditch league with James, but well... what's the harm?

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I used to respond to some comments, but these days I try to respond to everyone who comments even if it's just an emoji as a like "hi yes thank you for your comment I see you I just don't know what to say!"

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angtiest ending? I don't know if I've ever written an angst ending... nothing springs to mind anyway. 7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I think most of my fics end up with happy endings or at the very least open hopeful endings.

8. Do you get hate on fics? I wouldn't call it hate... but I did once get a couple of people debating in my comment section that Lily couldn't be friends with Sirius before dating James because it would be "taking away from jily's relationship"

9. Do you write smut. If so what kind? I don't really understand the second half of the question, but yes I do write smut.

22. Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process? How do you come up with titles?

often I have a something in mind the whole way through the process, even if it’s not a full title. sometimes this happens right at the beginning (e.g. junk science was always junk science long before I actually started writing it), & sometimes the entire story might unspool titleless and come to be centred around a phrase or word that appears only once in the text itself (e.g. when I first wrote the scene of the rickety old olive grove ghoulcy stumble through, I did a double-take at “cemeterial trees” & cemeterial trees the thing instantly became 💡); other times it’s something outside the story entirely, some kind of textual inspo, or a phrase from a poem I like that’s thematically relevant etc. etc. in general I like q concise titles so that has a bearing on picking one that resonates too.

23. Is writing the beginning, middle, or end of the story easiest? Hardest?

easiest: middle! beginning & end tie for the hardest part; hate them x

24. How do you choose whose POV to write in?

most things I write come from an initial little line that finds its way into the notes app on my phone & the pov is decided from that; my brain in-between other autopilot tasks @ work just allots whatever pronoun or perspective feels most natural at the time & off we go

47. Is there a trope that you’ve written before but are now sick of?

probably college/university where it’s a teacher/pupil kind of relationship dynamic; I am so beyond sick of writing that trope even tho collectively I’ve probably only written 1 whole story featuring it

51. Does what you like to write differ from what you like to read?

the last year or so I would say yes in the sense that I have finally found my “people” on ao3, aka a core group of like three authors I fan-girl over madly in the group chat & would (read: do, have, will again) honourably hoover up whatever the fuck they choose to put out; when I tell you I’ve delved into shows I haven’t even seen, ships I’ve never even heard about, tropes I didn’t know existed, & loved every minute of it, I am telling the whole entire godsworn truth 🙇🏻‍♀️

72. What’s your favourite writing compliment you’ve gotten?

[Your writing is] poetic, but it doesn't feel forced or overdone. Instead, it adds such a visceral quality to the work, contributes to its atmosphere -- hot and haunted. I found you because of Dramione, but I’m staying for the sapphic romances. Been questioning and exploring my sexuality lately, and your F/F pairing stories are akin to a balm. The characterizations pull at my heart and sink into it. The overall themes easily carry and work with the granularities of the stories, and the beauty and skill of your words ties it all together effortlessly. Thank you for sharing your brilliance with us. I sincerely hope we get to read more of the rare pairs from you. I can’t decide whether I like Fleur/Tonks or Hermione/Lavender more and I’d love to have more of these dilemmas. Yes please and thank you again. Thank you so, so much! My f/f stuff kind of sits close to my heart in a special way- obviously, all my writing is close to my heart, but the f/f stuff just resonates with my own life and experience a bit more. Writing straight romance is super fun because it's an opportunity to explore characters as characters, a bit more divorced from me, but the gay stuff always feels like tapping little 16-year-old Rum on the shoulder and going 'you'll be fine, you darling little idiot'. It's just always so lovely when someone likes it 😭

Oooooh, my favourite sapphic stuff! Let me get the recommendation bag out, lol. With the usual disclaimer that I don't know everything, have read too little, and am limited by my own experience.

First off, fanfic, because that's how we all got here. There's this one story called Skirt Full of Thorns by montparnasse that I think I first read in....2021? And I love it. I was one of those lesbians who clung to the idea of being bisexual for a long-ass time and against all reason (I was out there dating women and loving it, and dating men and feeling very 'meh' about it, and still didn't realise what that might mean until I was....21?) and this story just captures something about that idea of NOT figuring it out at 15 or 16, about the feelings that come with that. It's also political without being paternalistic, which is something I appreciate SO much in queer fiction. At least for me, queerness was never just about 'I'm into women', there is an entire worldview and way of moving through the world attached to it, a deconstruction of what it means to be female, and I always love it when stories reflect that without beating it into your head with a sledgehammer.

Then, essays! I'm currently reading The Rib Joint by Julia Koets, which is an entire essay collection, lol. I'm not fully done with it, so I can't vouch for the quality of the last bit, but what I've read so far is BEAUTIFUL. It's very haunting and has that Southern Gothic feel to it, and a very lyrical kind of prose. In other published fiction, Orlando by Virginia Woolf did something to my soul when I first read it as a pretentious little teenage twat, but it's...ya know. It's Woolf. It's not a beach read.

I'm not a podcast girlie, I'm afraid, but I AM a standup comedy girlie! If that's your vibe, PLEASE try 'Nanette' by Hannah Gadsby, and anything by Mae Martin. Also, show-wise, I really liked 'Feel Good' by Mae Martin, too.

Sorry if this is getting long, but I wish you the best of luck in your exploration process. If there's one bit of advice I would have liked to have heard back in my 'ohmyfuckinggod, seriously????'-stage, it's this: it's truly all less spectacular and important than you think, but also somehow deeper and more transformative than you'd initially assume. Kissing is kissing and dating is dating and sex is sex, and it's all just bodies in the end. At the same time, the things about queerness that go beyond the simple physicality of 'I have sex with women' go DEEP into your worldview and psyche, and those things are the ones that really shape you after a while. It's not just something you are, it is, to a certain extent, something you DO - a way of interacting with yourself and the world. My best advice really is to kinda....consider the geometry of your soul, in a way? Like, where does it jive, where can it catch onto something? And just try things. In the end, we all can only try.
