“I’ve got a pupil that I would like you to meet.” Gyomei’s voice reached your ears as you trained. Your grip on your blade tightened, stopping mid stroke so you could turn to face him. His sudden appearance confused you.

“Is this one of the four from the final selection?” You asked, sheathing your blade. The man nodded. You sighed. “Why? You’re the one that’s going to train him.”

“We begin our training in two days time. Please come to my estate then.” He clasped his hands together and bowed. The beads on his hands clacked against each other loudly. You sighed once again.

When you first laid eyes upon Genya, you felt drawn to him. The way he trained reminded you of yourself when you were young. With each move he made, he pushed himself. It was as if he was forcing himself to bear the pain of his past. He was clumsy, sure, but he was filled with an insatiable rage that kept him alive.

It reminded you of your fellow hashira Sanemi.

You had turned to Gyomei, your mouth opening to ask your question when he confirmed your thoughts. You frowned. A child like him had no reason to be so angry. Though, he reminded you of yourself. Angry.

Days passed before you saw Gyomei’s pupil again. Surprisingly, he seemed to be.. enjoying himself. Genya wasnt anywhere near as tense as he was when you first met. The sight made you smile.

You soon came to find that Genya was the younger brother of the wind hashira, Sanemi Shinazugawa. Which, partly, explained why he was so angry. He practically had it passed down to him. The kid really stood no chance. You felt bad for him.

“Like that Genya,” you instructed, watching as he trained. Gyomei was away for the week, which left you with training his pupil. Why Genya couldn’t have gone with him, you had no idea, but you were enjoying the time you spent with the kid. “Good job. See, it’s not so hard once you get the hang of it!” You grinned.

“Thanks,” he turned away from you, a small smile on his lips. He liked working with you. You were honest, but not mean. You were patient with him. He was allowed to make mistakes and not have to worry about getting hurt.

“Let’s take a break, hm?” You tossed him a towel and gestured over to the rest of the training area. You had made the decision to train at the corps headquarters rather than at your estate, simply to make it easier than him.

Unfortunately, Sanemi had returned earlier, putting Genya in a weird mood.

Genya took the towel and left the clearing. It took all of two minutes for Sanemi to start yelling at him. The hashira’s voice echoed into the air, sending shivers down your spine. You could hear Genya attempt to defend himself, before ultimately being slapped and silenced.

You rushed towards the sound of their arguing. If you were being honest, you never thought you’d have to go against Sanemi head on. You had always thought that he’d know his place and stay away from you.

That was not the case today.

“You step away from him, Sanemi,” you threatened lowly, chest heaving as you attempted to catch your breath. Your eyes were locked on his. You meant it.

“And what are you doing to do about it?” He snarled, turning his body to you. It was a challenge. A bold, dumb challenge. What an arrogant fool.

“Sanemi Shinazugawa I will make you rue the day you were born if you don’t step away from that boy.” Your hand landed on the hilt of your sword. Was it against the slayer code to strike another slayer? Absolutely. Did you care? Not one bit.

The hashira’s eyes widened at the hint of your threat. He knew you’d strike him too, and he didn’t want to go through that right now. He scoffed, pushing Genya away with one hand before stomping off.

“Why would you do that?” Genya spoke up, his hand covering his cheek. His eyes were wide, his skin ghostly pale. He stared at you with admiration.

“You don’t deserve to be treated like that. And if he gives you any other issues, I promise you I will put a stop to it,” you huff, “you’re his brother, for heaven’s sake!” You shook your head and sighed, patting Genya on the shoulder as you led him to the infirmary. He didn’t need it, but you just wanted to make sure he was okay.

He really did remind you of yourself, and it pained you to see him suffering in such a manner. You would give anything just to make him happy. Hell, you almost took out Sanemi just because he threatened Genya’s happiness. You just couldn’t stand it. Genya is such a sweet, sweet child. Such a trait needs to be nurtured, not bullied.

When Gyomei returned, you told him of your encounter with Sanemi. The hashira had simply sighed, telling you that it was a frequent occurrence between the two brothers. You couldn’t wrap your head around why. Genya worked hard to prove himself to his brother, and it still wasn’t enough. Gyomei had explained the reasoning behind their animosity, and even then you couldn’t understand why Sanemi hated him so. It would make more sense for Sanemi to care for the one thing he had left, not abuse it.

It frustrated you to no end. Everything weekend you’d hear from Genya, and each time he’d describe a new wound to you. Seeing him injured hurt you much more than it should’ve. Of course he was going to get hurt, that was simply a part of being a demon slayer, but you knew it was much more than that. It had to be.

“Sanemi.” You called out, watching him stumble out of the infirmary. He was tipsy, something that you found to be odd. As far as you knew, Sanemi found himself to be above drinking. The hashira stopped in his tracks and turned to glare at you. He clearly wasn’t with it. “How’s Genya?” He scoffed in response, reaching out and resting against the nearest wall.

“He’s asleep, damnit. Leave him alone,” he grumbled, his eyes closed. “I’m so sick of you. You’re ruining my relationship with the kid.”

“Me?” You paused, briefly taking the time to digest his words. “It seems to me that I care about him more than you do. You beat him, for god’s sake, and you have the balls to tell me that I’m the one ruining your relationship with him? You really must be stupid,” you let out a scoff and walked past him. You could feel his eyes on you, their intense gaze burning holes into your back. Though, you knew you had gone a little too far. He obviously cared enough to come and check up on him. You just wished he cared more.

At this point, you’d do anything for Genya. You saw him for the child he was, and you were willing to do anything to give him the chance to enjoy his youth. To you, he deserved it. And you couldn’t help but want Sanemi to change. You were honestly growing sick of arguing with him, and you could tell he was tired of catching hell from you.

Maybe, in a different time, Sanemi would care.

Random facts that may amuse you about the river episode of hilda

To be handed a script and then be like ' ok now lead your team to do the visuals' its like ,a wild experience so I want to share some of the weird things my brain latched onto .. For the door sequence, My pitch to our location and color designers was based off of a blacklight, under water themed mini-putt course I used to love when I was a kid. Just goes to show you can really pull inspiration from anywhere haha. I dont think anyone expected me to go that buck wild with it but I'm glad everyone was on board. anyway.. I lovingly called it Eugene's ' Putt Putt cave of doom ' . I wanted the doors to look kind of flat, like stage props ! The mini putt is STILL THERE BTW . look at this video. GOSH I MISS IT SO MUCH.

Anyway - It works great too because it allowed everyone to have the cooler blacklight palettes, where you can see Eugenes -true- colors. I wanted him to be duller outside of the water on purpose. Cuz hes just a lil old timey guy. A " slightly deranged Stan Laurel " , which was what i had in my pitch notes to the design team.

Heres another silly fact but we based part of the serpent off of the sarcastic fringehead cuz..look at it . its just like -AHHHHHHHHHH. It just waves its mouth infront of other fish and it looks scary but it doesnt DO ANYTHING. ( I think, biologists can correct me)

Also just in general I was vibing with the old..creatures on a map . Like. Of course we're going to give this serpent hooves. OF COURSE THIS SEA SERPENT NEEDS HOOVES. So the designers did a few rounds based off of way older illustrations.

The choice of shadow puppets was done to give Eugene an 'old timey' flavor. I really wanted him to feel more vaudeville and tap dancey - so the shadow puppets were to give him a..more modest intro. The adventures of prince achmed was an inspiration, because how old school animation can you get ! And it really backed up the use of bold colors. I wanted to save his BIGGEST performance to the end, also shout out to @castletoons who boarded this episode AND nailed the song sequence WITHOUT EVEN HAVING THE FINAL SONG?! It fit perfectly. It was fate.

oh , and if you felt a particular beetle juicey tone to this whole episode? You're not wrong ! While it wasnt on my mind when I was first working on visual concepts, our storyboard supervisor Jeff Bittle showed me this intro from the second season of the animated show. Everything zipping at the camera on this endless void ride was the perfect chaotic energy that really helped bring in that sinister tone.

UH SO YEAH I mean I could go on about some of the thought processes behind choices and stuff and honestly I dont want to get into the weeds with opening up a pandoras box on behind the scenes of hilda or whatever. But I thought this episode was a fun example to kind of share a bit of The entire team ran with this weird chaotic energy and I appreciate them so much for it. I'll always love this strange lil episode.

back when they announced the totk masterworks book i said i wasnt happy about it bc it would either

prove they thought all this was good from the start and everything went as planned

show us that they had unbelievable better ideas and plans but for some unknow reason scrapped it all

as it stands now with the concepts i have seen ... they somehow did both, some things seemed to have been planned fro mthe start (the whole focus on sonau/zonai stuff for example, which i personally just dont like bc i liked them better as an unkown mystery you never get to meet) and other stuff (like ganondorfs concepts, or the infinitely cooler castle in the sky esque concepts for the sky islands, instead of some nonsensical, meaningless little stone crumbs) was much, much more interesting initially (together with the interviews that said they initially planned to have the battery be a magic meter and make the sonau more magic than tech- but then decided to build their stuff around modern electrical devices just so players would immediately know what it was an what it would do -why????? thats so boring?? and unecessary ?? and they still give you tutorials for it anyway, multiple times??!!- for some ungodly reason)

it makes me more and more sure that this game, that took 6 years to make with most assets already being there (the same time that botw took to make?????????), went through a similar development hell as that one final fantasy game did where the director decided to make it an entirely different game every few weeks bc he saw something cool in another game-

its the only thing that makes sense to me, why else would it be so weirdly ... unfinished, its full of grand ideas badly executed, or like i said in a previous post, like an alpha build (weird! did someone in charge also see cool stuff every few months and decide they wanted it in there too no matter what so everyone had to scramble to try and put it in making the whole jenga tower fall over and over??), just to test how far you can push things, with placeholders everywhere, the same cutscene pasted in where another should be and a placeholder reason to get players to go soemwhere (fake zelda) and rough ideas for puzzles etc, that was never finished, jsut highly polished (in looks, sounds and presentation) in hopes of it being 'good enough' or players not noticing (like, take the underground for example, the idea itself is fantastic and cool as fuck, but its feels like an idea that was never finished and just barely fileld with some things to try and cover up the fact that it was never done, like a statue that wasnt done being carved but ran out of time so they painted it anyway- take the base map and invert it, put some easily accessible points of jumping down into it in random spots to test if the game can handle it- no time left to actually get that idea anywhere more specific and well thought out/put together, so its left like that, put the same texture everywhere, barely modified copies of the same enemies, and some little reward spots that make no sense, modelling three types of trees and an enemy camp is way quicker to do than actually making an entire new map (they didnt have to make it the same size btw, just make it big but unique caves, put the gravity effect down there in enclosed spaces! makes it less weird to have randomly happen in the sky! etc) but its there!! its in the game and if they are lucky most players wont go down there enough to notice how meaningless and unfinished it all is)

knowing they would most likely never admit to it though, probably bc of their reputation, is just addign to the frustrations i have with it :I

The moonlight shone on you made you look melancholic, Kiryu then asked himself if this was really the right thing but such thoughts were immediately lost when he looked. The moon shone upon two lovers in bed, both in a state of relaxation, one of her hands lay atop the man on her chest, and the other lay on his waist, her lips on his forehead, as the man's eyebrows only creased not because of discomfort but because of the comfort ness his beloved is giving him. He closed his eyes as he enjoyed the feeling she gave him; she was his heaven, his salvation, his everything. His soulmate.

She pulled back from their embrace and kissed each cheek with affection before moving down to his nose and finally kissing his lips as a sweet melody filled the air. The woman then raised the hand that was in his waist to his back, to slowly trace the tattoo that shows his life, his struggles, and the person he is.

The Dragon of Dojima, a ruthless man who can take on a whole clan to himself, a respectable man who will always put a strong face, but when it comes to you, he just can't keep his composure, Kiryu Kazuma can't.

She looks up at him once again, smiling adoringly, and whispers “You're the love of my life, Kazuma.” She leans down to kiss his forehead once more.

He feels so blessed to be loved by such a beautiful soul like hers. As they embraced their love for each other as his head was in her chest, he only had one thing in mind. . .

"Are you really sure you want to stay with me (Y/N)?" Kiryu said in a low voice. He looked at her through his eyelashes, and his face seemed to show the slightest hint of sadness. He could hear the heart in the position he was in maybe it was your heart that comforted him to say such a thing, maybe he was scared that one day he wouldn't be able to hear each drum of your hand but only your cold hands.

"Why ask Kazuma?" you replied as you closed your eyes and then started stroking his hair. A gesture you knew very well that calms Kazuma.

"Well, I'm just. . . scared. . .that one day you're going to be put in the mess because of the life I choose."

Scared.

He never said such words even to those who are closest to him, Kiryu is a protector he is the one willing to tank all wounds just for the one close to him and that also implied to you too, and of course, you understand, the dragon in his back significance his way, the path he courageously took. Kiryu Kauzma is scared. Scared that one day he'll never feel your fingers around his hand or your lips anywhere on his face, while you mumble the sweetest things to him, or maybe he won't have more memories of you cooking for Haruka or being there for the both of them.

"Oh, Kazuma. I knew what I was getting myself into when I first laid my eyes on you, but when the day I kissed you, the day I told you that I'm willing to be yours forever, I truly mean that." You said softly, Kazuma knew this but whatever power you hold, whenever you told him that you love him with all your heart he just can't help but doubt.

"Before you say anything, I know that you're doubting me not because of my love but my commitment to you. " Kiryu looked up to you and let you continue, "And so of that, please don't be afraid to be mine and trust in my commitment."

"You know Kazuma. . . I've always wondered what I will look like in a white dress, while you wear a whole black yukata." Such a comment had a chokehold on Kazuma.

"W-What do you mean by that?. . ." Kiryu said as he jolted and looked into your eyes. He was trying to find any kind of lies, but only he saw was real compassion and honesty of what you just said.

"Well, I'm trying to say is, if you really feel that way, then let's get married Kazuma, will the ring on my finger convince you?" You said straight to his eyes, implying that you were serious.

"Then if you want we can have children of our own. To show my love for you." You then move closer to him hugging his bare chest.

He looks down, blushing deeply. It would be easy enough to agree to a marriage, after all, he doesn't think he'd ever refuse you anything anyway, even his life, but why would you want children of your own? You guys already have Haruka, but why does the image of you holding both Haruka and her younger sibling warm his heart?

Will they have your eyes? Your hair? Maybe they're going to have your smile? Maybe they're going to inherit his eyes or maybe both of your eyes? But he knew that the enemies of his past would always hunt him no matter what, but it's your wish, your dream, and he'll do anything for you including protecting your dream. After a pregnant pause, you finally spoke up.

"Of course Kazuma we don't have to get married if you like-"

"I'll do it."

You open your mouth to let out a quiet gasp. The softness of his reply showed how vulnerable he is to you, showing just how much you mean to him. You couldn't stop smiling softly even if you tried. Your love is like the sun, radiating light everywhere he goes and everyone he encounters.

"I am willing to marry you (Y/N) if that's what you want to. . ." he said as he now grasped your knuckles and brought it to his lips. The contrast of his rough hands to your soft ones.

Ok ill have to try to write out everything i've got so far!

So the original premise was that ingo and emmet got mixed up and ingo got sent to hell instead of emmet as an oopsie (emmet didnt do anything overly bad in life but heaven/hell stuff is so arbitrary they probably just made a weird decision somewhere down the line lol) but i thinkkk i have switched it to Ingo gets sent to hell because Volo successfully sacrificed him in a ritual and emmet, while dying in the same place, wasnt actually part of it so normal rules still applied to him. Ingo's soul is all messed up and corrupted because of the ritual which caused his amnesia. Emmet finds out about Ingo being sent to hell after he cant find ingo anywhere in heaven and rightfully gets upset at heaven's lack of action because he see's ingo's situation as a huge injustice. So Emmet's whole thing is basically just causing problems until he finds his way to hell and reunites with ingo.

Ingo's situation is where the fun is lol. So he wakes up after spawning in hell and is just a total odd-ball. Half because he doesnt remember ANYTHING from before he died. Maybe not even his name? Which is weird. And also because he's a total sweetheart. No one can figure out why he's even there because it's not like he's a hellborn so he must have done something to end up in hell. After a brief period of wandering around aimlessly, Lady Sneasler, who is an overlord in this au, kinda adopts him and takes him places because she thinks hes so charming and adorable. Melli is just a guy that hangs around lady sneasler even though he acts like he doesnt like her? She's the poison overlord (kinda like an aqua tofana situation for sneasler) and melli is a poison guy. So they kinda just fall into the same group. So they both become friends of Ingo. After a while of character introductions and some brief fun stuff like Sneasler getting Ingo to do all kinds of fun stuff he probably wouldnt do on his own (like the clubbing thing lmao) Ingo has his first blackout, probably triggered by some sort of memory thing, and its kinda terrifying. When he has those blackouts he shifts into his full demon form and his power goes haywire causing a lot of destruction. Its a huge shock because normally regular sinner demons dont really have much in terms of inherent power and also because Ingo cant actually use his powers while conscious so there was no sign of him being capable of that level of chaos. Anyway, after he has his little blackout his body sustains damage from exerting that kind of power and is kinda down for the count for a while afterwards. His story from there on is figuring out what is going on with him and trying to stop those blackouts before it either destroys him or a good chunk of the city, whichever comes first lmao. Sneasler is kinda just there to reign in ingo and melli she just loves a good show lol Melli is kinda where i wanna connect it more to the existing hazbin characters/storyline. Because this is lowkey more of a crossover. He accidentally becomes charlie's new pet project which no one is a fan of 😂 melli did not volunteer for this at all but his character arc is learning to make friends and care about other people after pushing people away for so long because he's a huge ball of self-hatred. He's kinda perfect for the "i can fix him" thing the hotel is all about. SO he's stuck learning to become a better person and being the narrative connection back to the core of the actual show lmao. Not sure if they ever even stay at the hotel. Maybe ingo and melli could flip flop between sneasler's place and the hotel. They dont actually have places of their own so its one or the other. In terms of intra character interactions i think its like this (this is prolly set post-s1 so no sir pentious): Charlie: thinks ingo is nice, wants to fix melli and is working with ingo to do this. Her relationship w sneasler is similar to rosie in my head. Alastor: finds Ingo somewhat threatening because Ingo can read him like a book. would otherwise find him pleasant but because he has a hard time keeping up his mysterious scary image around him he avoids him if possible. Ingo really likes him because "he reminds him of someone but he cant put a finger on it", will teleport away if melli is in the vicinity, finds sneasler charming. would gossip with her 10/10. When emmet shows up they try to kill each other which is entirely unsurprising. Everyone else in the hotel is more or less "theres something not right about that ingo guy but he's nice enough i guess", "FUCK melli get him OUT OF HERE", and "lady sneasler is chill" and when emmet shows up theyre just like "oh this explains why he likes alastor so much. Now theres TWO OF THEM." I would like to develop the other character's opinions on the situation more but this is getting. so so long. misc other character stuff: 

Lady sneasler still has sneasels, usually 3 of them. they just have tiny wings and horns but otherwise look like regular sneasels. No clue what their deal is they just exist. 

Rosie and Sneasler get along great. they are kinda similar but fill different power-niches in hell. 

Rosie finds ingo SO charming. She loves his odd vintage flair despite literally dying like. in the 2020s lol. He's very popular in cannibal town because he's a train freak and edwardians love trains. He takes the cute edwardian cannibal kiddies on train rides.

im not really sure what goes on with emmet in this au i just know he's having a shit time of it and eventually finds ingo. I havent decided if he actually falls or just leaves heaven because it sucks and no one cares enough to stop him. Also only slightly related but i actually have a voice-canon for him which is will wood which works great for this au lmao. Also emmet plays killer jazz piano and alastor is so mad about it because its actually good.

emmet and alastor dont really have all that much in common besides the smile thing but its just enough for them to beef over it. really its a similar feud as alastor and lucifer, alastor sees emmet as a threat both because of his power and the smile thing and emmet doesnt like that ingo is following alastor around like a lost puppy. emmet is def way less mysterious, he's just pissed that his brother is suffering even if ingo doesnt seem to notice his own problems.

volo doesnt really come back up in this au because he's still alive. just imagine that akari is kicking his ass in the living world or something lmao. 

i cant decide if pokemon exist in this universe. It would be funny tho to have chandelure exist in a world where souls are like whole ass people who can die for a second time. worlds nicest guy's pet lamp eats people until theyre perma-dead for breakfast.

Elesa (and probably also drayden and iris depening on your headcanons) are very sad :( i like emmet/elesa so it makes it extra hard on elesa tho. there is no solution for this.

not sure what the arceus situation is here. hazbin as far as i know doesnt have a canon god design so for all we know god could be a dumbass llama i guess. its doesnt really matter besides stylizing volo's ritual

I have become obsessed again. To the point I wrote a ABSURDLY LONG ramble about Warren Kepler. I wrote it in discord messages and I will not be taking the time to fix the typos. There are so many.

But yes, I wrote a... character analysis? It's honestly just about the last season.

⚠️Major spoilers ahead. For last season, the finale, anywhere past 45 basically. If you have not completed wolf 359 entirely, well, this will be the end all be all of spoilers.

I love thinking aboiut it... and by that i mean i hate thinking about it. buts its great. so tragic. i love characters dying like that; they are introduced as a douche. dickhead, antagonist, honestly villain. not likeable, really. (by that i mean well written but the character themselves being THE WORSTTT) (although i love him i DID used to HATE HIM) (i always joked about wanting to throw him out of an airlock... no seriously. i didnt know. help) 

BUT, throughout the show, despite them being a dick, we are shown some moments of them almost.. being human. cause they are. everyone, despite how mean or stuckup or 'emotionless' they are, is human, and humans feel emotions. 

okok, so at this point some hate em, some love em (altho mostly lovehate), but overall they are.... antagonistic but with the potential. not enough potential however.- (quick sidetrack here, i swear i get back to my point eventually) 

The Last Season. oml, the first time I watched it, before I knew what kepler was doing, I thought,"kepler is acting weird". kepler is acting almost nervous, and something just felt off. yes it was because cutter was there, kepler was used to being in charge and aggressive about it to make his subordinates feel scared and therefore listen to him. which in the last season, is clear where he learned that from; cutter. but now cutter was back and he was the subordinate and scared one. he wasnt The Most Powerful One There anymore. BUT ALSO 

Maybe he acted weirdly because,,listen,, he was already planning something against them. it makes sense. he was sort of kept in the dark, but he knew something was going to happen.

He had to watch his crew like that, despite having just held a mutany against him, he still knew them. they were stuck in space together, they knew eachother, but also JACOBI. kepler interacting with mindcontrolled jacobi was. thats a rant for later on. 

But. He had just had his morals rocked. His right hand man, his most loyal companion, betrayed him, tried to get him killed, he lost his other teammate- no, friend, and well, if you look closely enough he really had some time to think about it all. 

And thats where he decided that he was not on the side he always had been on, the one he worked for for god knows how many years, the one who he had based his entire mindset on, and maybe he realized that his idea of a bigger picture didnt line up with Goddard's. 

Maybe he was doing it for Jacobi. and maxwell. Maybe he was doing it for the whole crew. or the whole world. Maybe he really, truely, cared. deep down.

I also think that he wasnt planning to make it out alive. 

He didnt want to face it afterwards. He convinced himself that this was the only way- that he couldn't possibly have made it out alive and that sacrificing himself for the greater good was the only way.

He could have survived that. The hardest part would have been convincing the others to let him on the homebound ship. (the sol i believe?) jacobi begged him to stay. oml that scene. another rant for later on. 

But going back to my first point- I love that they really gave you one last reason to care about his death. If he died still on goddards side, even if he seemed a bit hesitant, that was still the cowards choice. they really said "hey he actually cares about the greater good and to an extent, the others. anyway immediatly after that revelation kill him." They gave us a reason to cry.

I love characters like that. You hate em, but before they die, you are given a reason to give a fuck. Really wrenches your heart. 

back to other points. rachel, had been SHOT. and yet managed to push him into the airlock and close the door. you could say he was overconfident, but I believe thats uncharacteristic. hes always on guard, always thinking of every way something could go wrong and how to account for it. He should have thought about rachel fighting back. he could have stopped her, but he had already accepted that he would, and perhaps should die here. perhaps he didnt want to face everything after it all. how he might actually care about ppl. how fucked up he acted and all his bad actions. and also, how he could keep living beyond His Job. the artist formerly known as warren kepler. if he stopped Making Art, who was he to go back to? warren kepler didnt exist. he was just a husk. 

thats why i love reading Kepler Back From The Dead fics. it would have been SO INTERESTING. although its fair they wanted to wrap up arcs, or at least leave them on something somewhat satisfying, and kepler was definitely NOT done cooking. put that man back in the microwave he is STILL cold in the middle. 

anyway. kepler was a coward for dying but at least cowardice is human. 

>He couldnt tell anyone. What he was planning. couldnt even tell jacobi, "hey, im on ur side and also im going to stop it all. and sacrifice myself" because rachel was there. rachel was watching, and she was arrogant that kepler couldnt possibly not be on goddards side. yeah she probably definitely knew he cared about jacobi, but the others? she was not expecting him to actually have the confidence to go aginast CUTTER. 

jacobi begged for him to be on their side, argued good arguements,

but jacobi thought. there is no way this will work. absouletly no way he will actually listen to me. but he did. kepler had already planned this. kepler couldnt put into words why he was doing this, but when rachel asked him why he echoed their words; because he is human. 

but kepler couldnt tell jacobi that he was listening. and that he cared about him. he couldnt say he wished jacobi would make it out alive, or that the others would b ok, or that he wasnt going to make it back. 

all he could say was "Thank you Daniel, and goodbye." AKJHSDKJAHSKDH that line makes me want to CRY. its more evidence that kepler totally knew he was going to die. or at least expected it. the way he said goodbye like he knew it really was the last. called him daniel, and maybe others werent aware what that really meant, perhaps they were, but jacobi knew he never called him that. that that meant something. he didnt know what, but he assumed it was a "sorry, you are wrong and I am right, and you are going to die, and perhaps you deserve to in my eyes." when it really meant "You are right. I love you. I would do anything for your safety even if you may never know I was doing it for you." 

.... "thank you" for being in my life? for teaching me how to be good? for everything? AUGH I LOVE THESE FICTIONAL MEN. 

>His interactions while the others were mindcontrolled. I relistened to the first episode or two of the last season, and kepler honestly showed signs that he was already doubting goddard. that he wasnt as confident as when the others last saw him. and they commented on this- rachel talked about hera and kepler replied almost remincing about his time on the hephaestus. he said 'she had always been stubborn.' and rachel said 'careful warren, wouldnt want to sound like you admire it.'

And the whole scene with cutter, pryce, kepler, and mind controlled jacobi. Cutter definitely purposefully picked out jacobi to take notes during that. cutter realized something was off about him. He was weaker, almost upset that his subordinate was mindcontrolled? and would obey his every command? cutter had just improved them; and the kepler that cutter wanted wouldnt have cared. but he clearly did care, as he told- no, lied- to cutter about jacobi being a good team member. despite the fact jacobi almost got him shot, like, not even an hour before I think? He was worried jacobi would be punished, or hurt, or even killed. 

Cutter knew this. he took it into account, basically; he didnt kill him, he merely improved his brain. 

And. Eiffel, after being de-mindcontrolled because of the alien blood, waiting for Jacobi, had accidentily given himself away as being 'unmindcontrolled' when he ran into kepler. he expected to be carted away, re-mindcontrolled, or perhaps killed, or locked in a room, but kepler instead 'played along' and pretended like all was fine. he even sneakily told eiffel to be more careful next time. AND YET WE DIDNT NOTICE- eiffel didnt think to mention 'hey kepler totally let me get off scot free, he is maybe on our side. maybe i mean totally.' ?? and i didnt notice the first time around that THE KEPLER WE KNEW AT THE BEGINNING WOULD TOTALLY RAT HIM OUT INSTANTLY. he was always on their side, and perhaps always planning something. maybe since the interaction with mindcontrolled "she was twenty-eight!" jacobi.

one of the biggest things about vern is that he's chill asf. we all know this. but i think it'd travel into his relationship

genuinely just happy to be here bro. doesn't get weird about things -- respects and loves you and asks that you do the same, and that's kind of it for him

not suuuper big on pda, but will honestly kinda let you do whatever with him if you like pda LOL. probably won't initiate a lot but will definitely indulge if you do; feel like he def has limits but as long as you both feel comfortable

Thinking about how different my life couldve been if i wasnt autistic and physically disabled :(

It's so hard properly accepting at nineteen years old that I can't do a lot of the things people my age do, yano?

Like physical disability wise, i can't walk further than two-three minutes without a walking aid, when i make new friends i have to explain to them about my mobility issues, because i'm scared to just 'show up' with my mobility aid and be seen as faking or unnecessarily using it. I can't just walk about town for hours with my friends, which for some reason everyone i meet seems to wanna do, because i need breaks every five minutes so that i don't pass out / find myself unable to walk back. I can't dance the night away on a damn nightclub dancefloor without drinking copius amounts of alcohol and causing myself to be floored pain wise the next week or so. I panic when travelling because i'm not sure my rolator will fit into the bus, i panic when walking around with my rolator because i'm scared people will look at me and think i don't need it.

When it comes to me being autistic, it's so hard to socialise no matter how much i want to because i never feel like i can fully drop my mask, and its EXHAUSTING. I get so burnt out and i cant talk to ANYONE for ages, and then when it comes to talking to people again after a week or two of not talking to them, i'm too anxious to message first 😭 i also struggle so hard making friends irl because i do not know how to just walk up to people and talk to them, and even when i DO do that, it never goes anywhere, we usually just end up being mutuals on instagram and occasionally like eachothers posts </3 i always worry about coming across as too 'weird' or 'offputting' and i struggle letting people in properly because of the way people would treat me in school due to my autistic traits.

i can't work because of my disabilities, i can't get an education, i literally have two qualifications to my name 😭 i've tried college 4 times and dropped out every time and its SO DRAINING!! i just want to do something with my life, but all i can do is survive :(

Idk i just wonder how different life woulda been, you know? Maybe i'd have a job, maybe even my dream job! Maybe i'd have more qualifications, maybe a dog, or another pet, and maybe i'd have a group of friends. I feel so silly for thinking this way :(

summary: jj is required to follow his father to his dealer, barrys, trailer. he is astonished, nevertheless, to see a certain familiar face when he arrives.

jj watched out the window at the passing cars as a gentle autumn breeze blew onto his face. everyone else appeared to be extremely wealthy in comparison to luke's raggedy old pickup.

he had been grounded by his dad for "back talking," which means he has been under his fathers supervision, constantly, for the past week. this also means he is forced to go anywhere with luke at any point in the day. so that is how he came to be driven into the decaying trailer park where his father's dealer lives.

they pulled into the familiar lot of barrys so called home, a location theyve visited four times within the past week. there were numerous vehicles, including a few motorcycles, parked in the yard; however, one in particular stood out to jj. a bright red bike. he knew it looked familiar but had no idea where it had came from, as of none of the pouges in the area had such clean looking things in general.

he unbuckled carefully, as one wrong move could cause the entire truck to crumble beneath them, and stepped out walking behind luke.

as soon as they got near the already opened door, yelling could be heard. not particularly angry yelling, just someone being slightly pissed off, and that someone was no one other than barry.

“i aint givin’ you no fuckin acid man, ya already loopy outta yo fuckin mind” barry yelled, sounding more concerned than angry.

they walked inside, luke making himself to the fridge that he very much was not supposed to be in. jj just stood in front of the door uncomfortably, then he heard footsteps coming from the hallway. “so youll sell it to everyone here but me” yelled. wait was that, but before jj could get his thought out barry came storming into the main room with a rafe cameron following him, almost too close behind. rafe..

before any longer thoughts could be made from jj, barry was going at luke for drinking his beer out of his fridge. while the taller boy just stood behind, mouth opened slightly as if he was about to blurt out something absurd. but he didnt. he just stood there, hands in his khakis pockets, watching barry with amusement as he yelled.

barry seemed to calm down a bit, and turned to rafe. “d’ya need anything country club” he said softer with a smirk. rafe blushed slightly at the nickname, at the smirk, at barry. jj watched intensely, creepily almost, but how could he not. whatever the fuck just happened was completely not normal.

“yeahh” rafe dragged out, “you know what, i could really use some acid.” and with that, the yelling started up again.

“uh hu, nope, no fuckin way bro” barry yelled pointing a finger, he walked back to his room, as an attempt to retrieve what he knew luke wanted. rafe followed directly behind, way too close for comfort. way too close in general.

jj looked over at his dad who was sipping on his barrys cold beer, not a care in the world. he wasnt even sure if his dad noticed the weird behavior coming from the two.

after a few minutes barry came back into the kitchen, with rafe following, holding a little baggie of coke. “gotta show me the cash first maybank” barry said raising his eyebrows at the slightest. though to his surprise luke actually held out some hundreds, some hundreds that could’ve been used to buy food, but jj wouldn’t argue. he just watched as they exchanged items. watched as rafe lingered behind barry, his hand placed delicately on barrys waist.

jj didnt even think rafe noticed him, and truth be told he didnt, not until he turned and saw the jj maybank staring down his hand that was placed where it definitely shouldnt have been. they locked eyes, anger flushing in rafes and confusion in jjs.

barry noticed this, the tension between the two, and waved for luke to be on his way. their eyes were still locked, still staring, both in utter disbelief. barry lifted his hand to rafes cheek, rubbing slightly, bringing him out of his little trance.

“you good rafe” he asked almost as a whisper. rafe nodded slightly, glancing back up at jj who was being pulled out the door by his father.

‘i think he knows’ were the last words jj heard come out of rafes mouth before being pushed into his fathers shitty truck.

death in the family aka batman 427-429*** a big disclaimer for this one!!! its also written by starlin and another thing about this guy is that he likes to shoehorn in modern politics into whatever story hes writing, being really insensitive to the point of it looking like a joke. so yeah. warning for the biggest whiplash between child murder and insane irl politics being basically mocked.

post resurrection:

batman: hush* his first post resurrection appearance technically, but its very brief. no number bc the parts that matter are included in the utrh omnibus.

under the red hood*** i could give you the exact issues but, JUST READ THE OMNIBUS. its the collected stories, plus a couple extra.

some parts of this story can be a bit confusing without context, but to get full context youd have to read a metric ton of stories, none of which include jason. so just use context clues for anything you dont get (or dm me and ask, lol).

theres an animated movie based on this story, but a few things are cut out/changed.

batman annual 25*** flashback/explanation for how jason came back. one of my favs of all time (also included in utrh omnibus)

red hood lost days** prequel, but read after the others. shows jasons life between his resurrection and utrh stunt.

these both take place after utrh, not necessarily jason focused, and they are pretty out of context. nevertheless, here they are:

green arrow 69-72* dont judge jason too harshly for this... he had a weird role in the sidekick ecosystem at this point.

NOW... my final recommendation is:

robin 80th anniversary, specifically jasons story- "more time" *** really short and was written really recently, but its by winnick who's the author of like half of this list and basically THE post-resurrection jason writer. so you can read it with only the knowledge of this list and understand it! please do! IM BAWLING!!!!

on modern (2011-now) comics:

i dont remember enough about new 52 to give recommendations. the only jason centric story is rhato, WHICH SUCKS. SO BAD. SKIP IT, IM SERIOUS. in fact, skip anything written by lobdell.

however.. as much as i hate to say it, lots of the new 52 stories set up his relationship with the rest of the batfamily, and these dynamics stayed to this day.

i have no specific recommendations, though... maybe "batman and robin eternal" and "robin war" ???

for rebirth and infinite frontier id have to make a whole new post if i wanted to be in detail because i have a lot to say. ill just say- i liked the urban legends issues that focused on jason, task force z was weird but alright jason characterization, despite hating lobdell and it being shitty i also like the beginning or rhato rebirth. gotham war is a poorly written ooc mess but i must admit i love the angst LOL. jason also makes a ton of small appearances in batman/nightwing/etc which (though i havent read all of them) seem to mostly be good.

LOST MEDIA ? GUYS IM BACK FROM THE DEAD BUT WITH SOMETHING NOT PRISMO RELATED BUT I NEED YOUR HELP, PLEASE SPARE ME

I have some media on my hands that i cannot find, but it cannot possibly be lost, ive been looking for it for hours and i cant find it anywhere. bear with me-

when i was getting ‘a little too old’ for kids cartoons, but i would still watch them, there was a new show that came out on [likely] nick jr. other possible programs for this could be sprout, disney jr., or PBS, but i dont think was on PBS. this mustve been around 2010-2014. it was a show about these scientist kids who all lived [?] in a labatory. im PRETTY sure all of them were either all monkeys, or different types of animals, maybe with different lab motifs like a rat and a bunny, since those are lab animals. the main character was this know it all monkey that i HATED as a kid because he was the one who solved EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM like the little gary stew that he was. his little thing was that every time there was a problem, he would shout, “EUREKA”! and then he would solve the problem with science or friendship or whatever. i just remember thinking how annoying it was that he had no flaws.

i remember this one episode where another monkey character got sick. he was a lighter shade than the main character and im pretty sure he was just a younger side character who wasnt exactly there all the time. i think he was a younger sibling of sorts? anyway, he got sick and he had to stay home all day. from what i can remember he was the only one who was shown to have a home, unlike the other kids, who lived by themselves in the lab. he kept on wanting to go to this party his friends were hosting, but his mother said he was too sick to go. she served him this weird mushy food that he hated and didn’t want to eat, but the bowl she served it in was the exact shape of his head, so he had the idea to make it look like him and sneak off. he went to the party and all of his friends were concerned for him and told him he should be getting rest at home. i cant remember how the episode ends. i think he was one of my favorite characters, and i also think that there was one female character who was obviously dressed in all pink so that you knew she was a girl.

i also remember a bumper for the show where the gary stew mc said his eureka catchphrase as a green potion popped up with a speech bubble, though this could have been something im making up. i remember feeling annoyed when it appeared.

the artstyle was 2D and had a thick outline look to it. it looked kind of like wow wow wubzy.

it was not wow wow wubzzy or sid the science kid. i do not think it was AstroBlast, but if someone pulls up an episode like the one i described, i might change my mind.

giving camp camp characters favorite foods

preston: french toast and bagels with cream cheese. he really likes blueberry bagels and blueberry muffins. he's a breakfast food kinda guy

harrison: bannana bread!!!! he really seems like a bananna bread guy. and a hot dog guy too, he definitely loves hot dogs

nerris: pizza. only cheese pizza, though, she doesn't like pepperoni. their dad always orders one during long dnd sessions that take up most of the evening. she likes dominos especially because their dad orders the cookie brownies too when they get dominos

max: smiley french fries. he also likes to press them down in a pile of ketchup to make the ketchup ooze out of their eye and mouth holes like blood. (im hoping that was a universal kid thing and that i wasnt just weird as fuck)

nikki: pb&j uncrustables!! she likes normal pb&js the same, though. she only eats them with either strawberry or blackberry jam

neil: lunchables. despite how hes well aware how unhealthy they are, he likes the fact theyre compact and he can take them anywhere with ease

space kid: his mother's chocolate chip cookies and dinosaur egg oatmeal (the kind where the egg melts over time in the oatmeal to reveal a colored dino inside)

dolph: shaped mac & cheese (ie. dino mac n' cheese, spongebob mac, etc.) he won't eat the normal macaroni (he only uses it for macaroni art)

ered: oreos, specifically the weird oreo flavors or double stuffed, and sonic drive thru

nurf: dinosaur nuggets but only the soggy ones you get at lunch at your shitty school that are soaked in like corn juice or some shit because i dont like nurf

david: sandwiches! lettuce, tomato, turkey, ham, mayo, onion, he has it all. he packs one every day for max to bring to school. max doesnt like them but he pretends to so that david feels happy

gwen: sushi!! she seems like a sushi lover. she probably eats a lot of cups of noodles

cameron campbell: his mother's oatmeal raisin cookies

space kid has an uncanny resistance to spice. kids at camp started to feed him spicy stuff but he never seemed to react.

harrison once sobbed as a kid bc he ate deer and got upset because deer are cute and he ate one without knowing it was a deer :(

nikki always gives her leftovers to the pigeons in the city she lives near whenever she eats there. even if she doesnt have any, she makes sure to give some to the city birds. pigeons never forget a face, and they follow nikki whenever shes in the city. shes started bringing crumbs and food in her pockets to scatter behind her whenever they show up.

the gasp i just gasped is INSANE

i can't even bother to start the insights from the start because WHAT WAS THAT ENDING I AM LITERALLY HYPERVENTILATING RN !!!!

honestly i felt the entire chapter to my core, everything's going wrong and it's falling apart, felt it in my gut. i can't believe the fallout dustin and bug are having. it's just, so. sad. i feel like i was ready for everything BUT that.

and bug deserves to lose it genuinely, all this time she's been so so considerate for everything and everyone, girl's bound to lose it at some point. darling lucas is kind of the only one who's appreciating her rn :(

and STEVE OH MY GODDDDDD SIR IK YOU HAVE SEVERE ABANDONMENT ISSUES AND SHE DOES TOO BUT HEAR HER OUT SIR PLS & that argument was soooo abrupt and sudden i did NOT see that coming like steve cmon fight tmr she's having the worst day rn :(

AND FUCKASS JONATHAN DUDE LITERALLY EITHER BE SOBER AND CALL OR JUST DONT AT ALL WTAF WAS THAT PISSED ME TF OFF LIKE STFUUUUUUUUUU

okay all my pent up feelings are now out (not really) so aside from that. the letter from el was THE cutest thing ever like omg and i can't wait to see her interact with eddie, will be a treat for sure.

and i think i might not like season 4 all that much :D SO MUCH GOING ON PLS CUT POOR BUG SOME SLACK

anyway, that was all for insights today, i am NOT handling it well. will be screaming till the next chapter comes out.

AGAIN I APOLOGIZE FOR THE ENDING IT TRULY WASNT MY PLANTO DROP ALL THE FIGHTING IN ONE CHAP BUT THEN I REALIZED THERES ZERO ROOM ANYWHERE ELSE LMAO

dustin and bug fighting ,,, it hurts me too. but dustins character changes so much in season 4 and i had to include it because i want my own explanation for it tbh. he becomes so much more aggressive :((( my baby. and it was SO refreshing writing bug as more angry this season. she does deserve to lose it, i support her. so having her yell at dustin, defend herself against steve, and hang up on jon is GROWTH !!!

steves abandonment issues vs bugs is sooooo funny to me like guys u both hate being left alone pls recognize this and get married smh. and i wanted the argument to be slightly abrupt because theyre nearing graduation and never once discussed what would come next. the consequences of that speak for itself with the fight. steve just assumed hed move in with bug (which is a HUGE leap) while bug just ... didnt think about it (which is also a huge leap). both of them are upset and hurt and have the right ideas, just horrible ways of communicating them.

jon ,,, oh my dear baby jon. the phone call was the scene ive had planned since season 1 :) fun come home fact: the phone call, camera scene from season 1, and the iconic come home scene yall will get later were all planned before the story even began. they inspired me to write come home.

els letter !!! i felt cheesy starting the season with that, but it honestly felt so fitting. it was interesting writing from els pov with the way she speaks. she doesnt ever use conjunctions and she has a weird way of expressing emotions that i loved toying with !! i also wanted to show how el feels comfortable enough being vulnerable with bug by telling her about angela and the bullying (while hiding it from mike) so ! cute lil letter it was
