When my siblings and l were growing up, we never had milk in our cereal. Ever. My parents did not eat their cereal with milk, and we legitimately did not realize adding milk was an option, and happily crunched away on our dry cheerios. (When l first saw someone add milk (l think l was around seven) l thought it was super weird because why would you want wet cereal???? And continued to eat without it). Anyway as an adult l tend towards adding milk, but I'm perfectly content to eat it dry. But l know some people wouldn't entertain the idea of eating cereal if there wasn't any milk on hand.
