Note
Does that mean you’ll still react to Lily’s bad media takes? Because honestly, between what you, Ant and Crim (whom I understand doesn’t want to part take in the Lily Slop anymore, I respect) have accomplished by calling Lily out and her actively attacking you guys helps shows her true colors, especially when she was falsely striking y’all. It has affected Lily’s channel, her views have been at an all time low and I’m sure that’s hurting her financially too.
You guys also helped a lot of people realize how toxic Lily can be and how she constantly talks nonsense. Not too mention with her crimes, Lilly is a walking red flag with all the high intimacy siblings stuff that it goes into her work, she has a clear pattern of behavior that always links back to the crimes against her. Girl is having coffee at the screen of the crime but weaves so many lies to deny it that she can’t keep her story straight.
My heart goes out to Courtney and wishing her justice, but you guys dissecting Lily’s lack of media literacy has also help spread more awareness of her having no authority over anything as well as damaging her views. So while I understand not wanting to talk over or for victims, you’ve all still contributed awareness of how dangerous Lily can still be.
Well if Lily is dumb enough to do a video on Dragon Age you bet I will. But even my audience is losing interest in her, she didn't even come close in my last poll about what they want my next react stream to be.
Tumblr media
I had a stream before Lily, it was just on Twitch, and I'm not going to apologize for seizing the opportunity handed to me when I suddenly found myself with a new audience and a new income stream on YouTube.
I've been very transparent from the start that I'm an entertainer first and foremost and ill-equipped to speak in depth on the crimes I believe Lily is guilty of.
But I also can't ignore them. So I keep on her ass with this sideblog full of receipts. I mention the gross shit she's said and done every stream on her. Ant and I have been trying to get YouTube to take her copyright system abuse seriously which could terminate her channel.
But beyond direct legal action all the rest of us can do is keep calling attention to what a degenerate she is, annoy her, point out what a shit content creator she is in the first place, and chip away at her reputation. Sue me that I want to have fun along the way with the skillset I do have.
And not to toot my own horn but she's dropped over 2,000 subs since I came on the scene.
You will be seeing edits of past Lily streams coming out though. I'm starting to pay editors to help me with that. 😁

One thing about A Patchwork Family is that Draco and Harry are ALWAYS going to exchange insults. They can have the most love for each other in the entire universe yes but they will be roasting each other 24/7.

I am forever haunted by Nate and Tessa's fucked up and terrible sibling dynamic. Maybe it's just because I related to Tessa too hard when I was twelve and heard "this is her older sibling who's the coolest person in the world and reuniting with him is her number one priority" and went "yup, makes sense!" but his betrayal is genuinely one of the defining aspects of TID to me.
Sibling relationships are such an underexplored way to fuck somebody up in fiction, in my opinion. Nate has been the one constant in Tessa's life, and no matter how aware she was of his flaws that could never overrule the fact that he's her person. She trusts him on a fundamental level that she just can't experience with anyone else, and part of it is because of how fleeting all her other relationships have been, but a lot of it is just the fact that he's her brother and she's loved him for as long as she's been alive. More than that, she idolizes him. Her entire life crumbles around her when Aunt Harriet dies and she ends up held hostage by the Dark Sisters, but Nate is still there and perfect in her mind. He's her anchor when everything else goes insane; if she can just find her brother then things will be okay again. She's more able to handle her world being shattered by learning about the supernatural because all that magic shit is secondary to the fact that she needs to save Nate.
And then of course she does save him and he turns around to betray her. And again, it hits harder than any other betrayal possibly could because he's more important to her than anyone else could possibly be. By this point she's built up bonds with Will and Jem and the other people at the Institute, and eventually they all become woven into her being, but not when she's sixteen and has known them for a week.
Looking at it from Nate's perspective, the thing that's always fucks me up is the way he tries to convince himself that he sees Tessa as a monster. He's genuinely just a shitty enough person that he set his sister up to be a child bride for a mass murderer because of the payout, but he can't handle thinking of it that way so he clings to this idea that Tessa isn't really his sister, isn't really human. And while yes, that's biologically true (they're not even technically related to each other), it doesn't change the fact that they're siblings in every way that matters. She'll always be his little Tessie, even if he doesn't want to admit it, doesn't want to let himself be the villain in this situation. He does the same thing with Harriet, arguing that she deserved to die because of all her lies because otherwise he would need to admit that he killed his mother out of pure selfishness.
Nate isn't the most evil guy in the world, but he is greedy and allergic to principles. It's so much worse than if he never loved Tessa, because he does love her till the very end and that love just isn't enough to override the allure of wealth and power. That's always the most painful type of relationship to me; the one where a person has just enough good to make it impossible to unequivicobly hate them.
Maybe Will could just write Nate off as a terrible person, but Tessa will always know every detail of his best and kindest moments. I have to believe that he haunts Tessa for the rest of her immortal existence, this knowledge that the person who made her life worth living for the first sixteen years was the one to sell her out. All the pain in the world isn't enough to erase that bond; she'll always have to live with the memory of him dying in her arms, the knowledge that his goodness and love was just as genuine as his duplicity.
Yeah this ended up being a lot longer than I intended, I just have a lot of feelings about the Gray siblings. Nate wasn't a part of the world where Tessa eventually found a home, she'll never have anyone else who understands the knot of emotions surrounding him. She can get sympathy but never empathy. Yes the rest of the TID crew are aware of him, but they barely met him and she outlived all of them too. Nate's so lost in her past, I bet that most people don't even realize that she used to have a brother, that she grew up as a sister, as half of a set. She carries the Gray name forward through her immortal life, and nobody else knows about the family that used to share it. She's still got Jem and Magnus who have been her friends since she was a teenager, who keep the memory of Will and the others alive; but no one else was there for her childhood.
I'm not quite sure how to end this, I'm just feeling emotions about Tessa Gray on this fine Tuesday and felt like sharing them.

hmmm i'm gonna say 3 is the lie? i know 2 is true lol
i have an uncle named Devrus (Debo for short) who used to own emus on his farm in Texas.
i had to go to the ER as a kid because i tried to snort a pea up my nose, like a cartoon elephant snorts peanuts up its trunk, and the pea got stuck.
my dad was a notorious trickster and used to hide a toy rat in a tuxedo named Rodney (i used to call him Roody) in various places around the house to surprise me and my sibling.

can y'all tell which is the lie? >:3c
Two truths and one lie! Tag someone else to play!
1. I have a fake eye
2. I have a calico cat

"Sweet little one, standing upright, to me you appear dressed in white. But your red nose, what wonders it does: shortens your life the longer it glows."
"A candle," Velika smiled.
"Correct." Mata Nui replied. Then, he offered another riddle: "Which part of the bird has never soared the skies but slithers instead upon the ground, and swims on the surface of the water without ever getting wet?"
"The shadow."
"Correct. Two parents have five daughters; each daughter has a brother, and each brother has five siblings. How many members compose this family?"
"Eight."
"Correct. A beast of long legs, of strength filled to the brim - yet no eyes adorn its head, its intelligence quite dim."
"Pinchers."
"Correct. Today is the third of seven days. In seven years, which of seven will today be?"
"The fourth."
"Correct. I am that which cannot be touched, but inhabits all living things; I am what kills them, burning quietly, and through their mouths the plume of my combustion shows in the cold."
"Oxygen."
"Correct. Through my long black neck breathes my red heart, hacking out smoke as warmth from me departs."
"A stove."
"Correct. She who fights the winds and waves from the bowels of the seas to maintain her treasure so far away, thin yet heavy, weak yet invincible: who is she?"
"The anchor."
"Correct. A ship rotted upon the shore: each plank that fell away was slowly replaced, until it was remade completely new. Yet from the rotten planks, preserved adeguately, a second ship was constructed in the image of the original. Which one then is the true ship?"
"Both and neither," Velika smiled. He tilted his head in his hand, amused. "You're really not good at this."
"An 'and' is not an answer." Mata Nui replied: "Please choose."
"It doesn't matter, does it?"
"A rethorical question is not an answer. Please choose."
"The one from preserved wood."
"I see. A crow, dying of thirst, struggled to get water from a deep vase lodged in a pebbled shore. In its desperation, it began piling rocks upon one another; and so it saved itself. How?"
"By piling them in the vase, forcing the water upward."
"Correct. Swells all around you, like a glove fitting; never shall it hold you, cold embrace fleeting."
"Fog."
"Correct. An unusual farmer plows through a barren snowy field, sowing black seeds in quick succession; what he reaps is just one fruit which feeds many over the years, and never wilts, but only lasts as long as it is not burnt or faded."
"The written word."
"Correct. It is one of the visages by which we can be recognized, odorless, colorless, impalpable - and yet it can reach us far away."
"The voice."
"Correct. It is what the rich lack and poor have plenty of, what the strong fear and the weak have power over, what the happy desire and the dead need."
"Nothing."
"Correct. What am I doing?"
"Stalling me."
Mata Nui smiled: "Correct."
Velika did not move.
"It's useless, you know," he said, grin frozen upon his fake Matoran face as it struggled to hide his true one: "You can't stop me from my goal with these little guessing games of yours."
"I was under the impression you quite enjoyed making riddles."
"I made you."
"You helped. It was admirable, indeed; but it was not your labor alone. You are not one for the practical sciences, after all."
"I made you. You are a soul, a thinking brain. I allowed you to be that."
"You, and others."
"Does the fine print matter?"
"Of course it does. You would wrongfully claim full ownership over the universe entrusted to me otherwise."
"I made them. They are sapient because I allowed them as much."
"And you wish to destroy them now, as they are past their use, and for them to comply and go quietly to you, without making a mess, as otherwise it would be quite the inconvenience."
"Of course."
"Fathers owe their children as much as their children owe them."
"They're not my children," Velika laughed loudly as if that was the most hilarious thing he'd ever heard: "They are a successfully completed experiment! Archived and finished! I can't leave the mess of my previous project all over my desk if I want to start a new one, don't you think?"
Mata Nui did not move.
"You are awfully cruel in your insatiable curiosity." he noted simply. "Indeed, you are Teridax's father."
"I told you I don't have children."
"But we were your successors, were we not? A lonely god on a mindnumbingly long journey, one scientist in a team with delusions of grandeur."
"You are things I made. Things I gave awareness to. Nothing more."
"Nothing more?"
"Nothing more."
"Is this also your opinion of the universe within me?"
"Of course."
"Then you have no claim on us."
Velika raised his head from his palm and laughed. He laughed again, spitting out phonemes without a rhythm. He forced himself to laugh, because otherwise the confused wrath within him would have needed to explode in some other way.
"Pardon?"
"It brings a riddle to mind."
"I don't want a riddle. What did you just say?"
"Again, I was under the impression that you enjoyed posing riddles. At inopportune times most of all."
"Cut it. What did you say?"
"A woman bore her daughter, and decided it was not her duty to care for her: she still observed her growth over the years for sake of a morbid fancy, never intervening nor gaining any affection for her. At last the daughter found great happiness and fortune; and so her mother came, and demanded a part of her riches as compensation for giving birth to her. Was she right in requesting as much?"
"I said I don't want a riddle!"
"That is not an answer. Please choose."
"Quit that! What did you say to me?"
"That is not an answer. Please choose."
"You insulted me, is that it? You insulted me?"
"That is not an answer. Please choose."
"Shut up!"
"That is not an answer. Please choose."
"Fine! Fine, you broken piece of junk, fine. Repeat it, I didn't listen."
"No, she denied custody and has no say over her nor her belongings."
"Correct."
"So? What did you say?"
"I said the exact thing you repeated with your answer." Mata Nui replied. "You have shirked your responsability towards us, and you have no right to decide of our fate."
"You are things," Velika hissed: "Things are made!"
"We are people. People are made, too."
"People are born! They are thinking creatures!"
"Are we not, then?"
"No! You are things that I have given sapience to! You owe me life! Obedience! You owe me everything you are!"
"Are we then yours?"
"Yes!"
"By what virtue?"
"By virtue of creation!"
"By virtue of birth." Mata Nui repeated. "A virtue that we have agreed holds no water when a parent abandons their children."
Velika's eyes burned: "You are made," he insisted. "Not born."
"People are made, too. They are engineered by chance, put together by two others. The creation progress requires time and resources; afterwards, the new being needs to be programmed and taught what to do, what not to do, through trial and error."
"It's different. It's completely different. I gave you that intelligence. In people it's innate."
"From when? From the moment your cells are assembled? From the second you develop eyes? From the instant you are brought into the world, kicking and screaming? There is indeed an ability, innate, for understanding tasks and languages; but it all has to be instructed. Neither of us were born capable of speech, yet we could understand a language of our own, for that is how we were both built."
"Do not equate yourself to me. You are code, bits and pieces of electricity, the vague hint of a self."
"On that same electricity is based the neural system that is your 'I'."
"But I am your maker. I created you. Not the other way around."
"And so? You have denied custody of us. You refuse to recognize our personhood. Are you not our parent who abandons us, our creator who destroys us?"
"I have no children!"
"Then we do not owe you anything."
Velika raised his hand and grabbed the air, right where a neck should have been.
"I will kill you," he threatened: "I will annihilate you."
Mata Nui held his gaze without flinching: "That you can."
They remained still.
The room was empty.
"I had such knowledge to share... But it would have been too long to tell, I am afraid." he only lamented. "I have lived a long life, all in all - sometimes it has even been pleasant. A lousy god such as myself will not make much difference by now, alive or otherwise: my people have moved on from any whims that may have moved my requests once. Go on then, if it pleases you."
The hand twitched, but did not close.
It spasmed, clutching, hardening, but did not close.
Velika clenched his jaw, tightening his fist, but it did not close.
He tried, and tried, and tried, and tried, and tried; but it did not close.
"I will kill you," he hissed. But suddenly he wasn't sure he could.
Mata Nui waited.
Nothing happened.
His hand of thought - invisible, impalpable, barely real - grazed his creator's chin and lifted it slightly with his fingertips.
"What is it that the brilliant man standing before the machine he has made to do his bidding - to labor away endlessly in his stead, to travel where he would not, to learn what he could not, to sing and write and draw what he cannot - fears most of all?"
The Great Being did not answer.
Silence stretched over the small endless space the word should have been spoken into through his voice.
Mata Nui smiled.
"Leave." he ordered. "There is no place in this world for a god that treats its people like toys."
Velika lunged forward and grasped the Ignika in his hands.
By the time other beings arrived drawn in by the horrid noises, the body writhing and raving had lost its limbs, its bones, maybe even its skin. It clung to the golden artifact still somehow, trying desperately to claw at it, break it, unleash its wrath upon it as it continued to mutate the creature into something less and less able to function the longer it remained latched upon its surface by its own stubborn volition; it howled wordlessly, voice cawing through what was supposed to be its mouth in a garbled attempt at speaking, but there was no mind behind the gruesome wailing - just a violent, infinite, senseless anger.
It shrieked at them when they rushed to put it down, partly frightened to death by it, partly trying to spare it from the anguished existence it was bound to go on to live - screamed something, something that could have been 'obedience', or close enough.
Mata Nui did not stir from sleep.

TSAMS THEORY: THEY'RE ALL THE SAME//TIMELOOP THEORY!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, you read the title. This is probably the CRAZIEST theory I've come up with up, but please let me explain.
Okay, so in this episode of The Sun and Moon show
Tumblr media
Dark Sun visits Foxy and is trying to help him solve his F.c. problem. This was when F.C. got that red box in his chest that absorbs negative star power, and Foxy had no idea what to do, and "Sun" shows up to offer him some support and help... ya, that's not Sun, as you can probably imagine it's Dark Sun. Dark Sun, if I remember correctly, is basically telling Foxy to get rid of the kid cause he's too dangerous, and off course, Foxy tells him no. Dark Sun make some interesting comments that got me thinking. Dark Sun kept asking hypothetical questions like: If you could go back in time and redo everything the exact same way... would you?
Kept asking time related hypotheticals, and even after 7 months, my mind does wander back to this episode and what Dark Sun said.
Someone in the comments of this video asked "Wait is Dark Sun implying they're all stuck in a timeloop and only he knows?" And that BLEW MY MIND!
It does explain a lot of things about Dark Sun
How he seems to know how everything is gonna play out
How confident he is
How smart he is
It's cause he's been through ALL this before.
He's seen it all before
He's experienced it all before
And he's learned from it all.
There is a VERY popular fan theory that Dark Sun is actually OUR Sun just from the future!
I do think that theory is true... but allow me to add to it.
DARK SUN IS SUN FROM A PREVIOUS TIMELINE
The theory is that every time THIS world ends, it gets reset (Kinda like Undertale), and everything happens all over again, maybe with one or two small differences, so it's not an exact copy but a close enough one. Dark Sun was a Sun who we know snapped and fought back against his Moon, killed him, and stole his intelligence... is what I would say if that was true. It was later revealed that Dark Sun lied about killing his Moon. We see his Moon barely alive in a cell where Ruin then puts him out of his misery. Ruin calls Dark Sun out on his lies, and Dark Sun just kinda brushes it off. He lied! He lied about killing his Moon! So, if he didn't get his intelligence, then where'd he get it? Dark Sun didn't steal it he gained it through experience. Dark Sun somehow found out he and his WHOLE WORLD IS TRAPPED IN A TIMELOOP! He probably freaked out about that for a while till he began to wonder if he could change the future, change his fate. So, he does. He becomes Dark Sun after many attempts and many timeloops and finally breaks free from the loop, but he realizes he's free, but the loop isn't over. It's still going. Just now, he's a watcher. He's on the outside looking in. He watches the loops play out over and over and over again, and it just keeps getting WORSE! Moon is still being an abusive butt to Sun, Sun still barely has anyone to support him, and they are still constantly messed with by people like Eclipse, BloodMoon, The Creator, The Astrals. It NEVER ends! Oh, sure, sometimes the loop is merciful. Maybe it gives Sun a new sibling to care for him or a new friend or heck, maybe even a kid... but it's still the same shtick! Sun even dies in some terrible ways in some of these loops! Or the siblings turn rouge and become evil. Dark Sun decided enough was enough and decided to try and break the loop once and for all, but in order to do so, he needs to intervene. He needs to start making things go his way. Pushing Nexus further to the dark side, putting things into place so Sun will lose his support system, and make it so the next few loops will have the Suns coming up on top. Basically, altering the timeloops so Sun doesn't die in 95% percent of them and instead Moon dies. (What's been happening in the show currently) Dark Sun is trying to make our Sun like him cause he believes he can't break the loop, so if you can't break it... change it. He's trying to turn Sun into another him because Dark Sun thinks becoming like him is the only way to break the loop. He's trying to make all Suns like him cause he believes he can help them.
So, that's Dark Sun's part of this.... how does Emperor Lunar and President Earth come into play?
Well, if the timeloop theory is correct, then you see what I'm saying, right? President Earth and Emperor Lunar ARE our Lunar and Earth! Just from different timelines. They're like Dark Sun sort of. They know about the loops but aren't really doing anything to intervene. Maybe they are, and we just aren't seeing it? Who knows?
Now, you might be saying Llama, Emperor Lunar, President Earth, and Dark Sun are from another dimension... not timeline... well... do we know that for sure? I mean, they say it's other universes.... but... dimensional travel is a tricky thing. Who's to say Moon when he built the portal didn't accidentally poke a hole through? Plus, other dimensions and alternate timelines are a term that's pretty interchangeable. So, what we think is an alternate dimension is actually a alternate timeline, part of a the loop.
Basically, what I'm saying is that Moon's portal is actually going in a giant circle poking through the past timelines and wrapping back around to ours and poking through ours to future ones.
Tl;DR The whole show is stuck in a timeloop, and Dark Sun, Evil Earth, and Evil Lunar are OUR Sun, Lunar, and Earth just from a previous loop and Dark Sun is trying to save all other Suns by messing with the timelines so they'll become like him and break free from the loop.
Does this theory have a lot of holes... yes. But gosh dang! Wouldn't that be something! Plus, I can see something like this happening in the show.
But hey that's just a theory...
A TSAMS THEORY!
Thanks for reading!

Silco's Last Words
In light if the second season, especially what we see of Jinx, I have thought again about Silco’s “You’re perfect.” I haven’t stumbled upon someone talking about it, though most reactors I’ve seen took Silco’s last words as a clear statement of his love for Jinx. That may be true but is not what I want to focus on.
The thing is: the writers of Arcane did a fantastic job of making each line of dialogue count. So what else could “You’re perfect” mean? Well, words were always Silco’s sharpest sword. And that’s exactly what I think they are here as well: a weapon. He uses words to forcefully embed his will onto the world, and in this case, he directs them at Jinx and no one else. To me, his sentence is not tender but cruel.
Let me explain. Look at the word “perfect.” If you take it seriously and attach it to something, it means you can’t imagine any way this something could be better. This, I assume, usually goes hand in hand with you wanting this something to stay the same. So his message to Jinx is: you are the way I want you to be. Don’t change. Don’t apologise. Go on like this.
But Jinx doesnt think of herself as perfect. She’s torn. I’ve read somewhere: “Powder killed Silco, so Jinx killed Powder,” and in season two’s third episode, Vi explicitly blames Jinx for killing Powder. I think, however, that Powder is still in there. The ghosts of her family are still in there. To overcome her failures and the guilt of her repeatedly killing her family, Jinx leans into the chaos, into doing “evil” things. It is what Silco would have wanted were he still alive.
That’s the power of “perfect.” Jinx can’t heal, can’t repent, can’t regret. She can’t change. The only path is forward. That much, I believe, was already visible in the first season, and the second season’s first act reinforces me in this regard. In episode two, she says:
“Yep, that’s me. You ever need to curse a sibling or a family or a society: my card.”
She says that as an introduction, but also, in my opinion, as a self-affirmation. She is this “monster” that, in her eyes, Vi created (which I think is wrong, but that’s not the point here), the monster Silco came to love, the monster she chooses to keep alive because it’s the only thing left that ties her to the only person who embraced this side of her.
I believe she hates this side of her because it took Vander and the others from her. It is also the most influential side of her, offers her the most potent tools to make the world bend to her will instead of the other way round. This powerlessness was the overarching experience of her childhood until everything fell apart, and why would she want to repeat that? Before Silco, she received love despite what she was. With and from Silco, she received love because of what she was. After Silco, she receives maybe not love but affection from Sevika and Isha.
Sevika is a little lost, like Jinx, after Silco’s death, and Jinx means familiarity (maybe even family). Jinx is also a tool for her, though, useful because of her havoc-wreaking traits and abilities. Isha is grateful to Jinx for rescuing her by virtue of, again, her havoc-wreaking traits and abilities. Of course Jinx leans further into the monster side.
But Jinx wants to die. She could hardly be any clearer when she tells Vi, “Then stop me. ‘Cause no matter what I do, I just can’t seem to die.” She wants Vi to kill her, to end her suffering, to – that’s how I read it – restore some balance, some justice, wants Vi to finally punish her for killing her family which she knew was wrong since the very moment it dawned on her what she did in first season’s third episode. She can’t do it herself because Silco told her she was perfect.
When Jinx taunts Vi with the barely veiled innuendo about Vi wanting to have sex with Caitlyn, it shows, in my opinion, that Jinx is jealous and that she approves. She wants Vi to go on. Because she still loves Vi. That shows when she aims a pistol at an unsuspecting Vi in episode two and cries. But Jinx also cries because she can’t give Silco what he wants, because neither Silco nor Vi will love her back ever again. She cries because she knows the monster is just a patch to her broken self.
This single tear made me think about why she cried when she fired at the council at the very end of season one. I have no definite answer to that question, but perhaps she already knew back then that she could never fully become Jinx. After all, nothing but herself prevented her from killing Vi and Caitlyn right then, right there.
Perhaps she cried for Silco, too, out of grief, out of wrath. Perhaps she knew this action would put her on a path where, eventually, someone would end her suffering and let her rest, and she cried for herself, for the unfortunate girl that couldn’t safe herself, for the girl she could have been.
In the state Jinx is now – at the time of writing after season two’s second act – she reminds me of a golem: a lifeless tool, animated by magic. If we opened her head, we’d find a slip of paper inside that bears the magical words:
“You’re perfect.”
How cruel.

Actually, thinking about it...
It's something that some of the fandom refutes the idea of Gojo being a "dad" and one of the reasons being his age and/or just how he behaves.
But then that makes no sense to me because dads can be total goofs like Gojo, you know doing silly things with their kids and...
I have yet to see anyone shut down the idea of Nanami being "like a dad".
"But, Kiya, he is like a dad!"
True, but let's not act as if other family members don't act like Nanami, too, especially if they have to take up the "parent role".
He's more serious than Gojo, but that doesn't mean serious = parent. I can be serious with my siblings as I am the oldest. So if Gojo is the "silly big brother", Nanami can't be the "serious big brother"?
Nanami is also younger than Gojo. So to even bring up Gojo's age as a way to disagree with the Dad-jo agenda seems pretty... useless if you're a person who sees Nanami like a dad.
Mind you, Gojo is the eldest out of the Past Arc students. (Gojo, Geto, Nanami, Haibara, Ieiri and yes, I am also including Ijichi.) He would have just turned 13 and Nanami would have been 12 when Megumi was born.
Personally, I don't care if you see Gojo as a dad, uncle, brother, cousin - figure to any of the kids or just their teacher. Same goes for Nanami.
It just seems unfair to both characters, I guess, to be like "hey, he can't be like this and the other has to be like this".
Like, who said that person has to exhibit those specific traits to be in a role?
To me, at the end of the day, both Gojo and Nanami are mentors who also allow the students to feel what it is like to have some adult figure in their life who does care and protect them.

Largely for reference, the conversations Jaheira's kids have with each other. Rion talks to Fig and Tate, Jord talks to Jhessem (and the plants); there's four bits of dialogue each.
Rion and Fig
"Poor dummy. Look at its arms - it just wants a hug."
"That's why it keeps losing. Dummy."
-
"Am I supposed to pretend that sword you're swinging wasn't stolen from my room?"
"Wrong. It's completely different."
"Funny. Because it looks just like the one I stole from mum when I was your age."
-
"Good. But you'll need to learn more than just the Harper forms."
"Is that why they threw you out? Because you didn't like their forms?"
"They didn't throw me out. I left. There was just… more to be learned elsewhere."
"Like the Flaming Fist?"
"No, now they threw me out."
-
"When can I move on to a real sword?"
"Oh, stop sulking. I had to teach myself in secret when I started. Mum didn't want to 'force me into the same life'."
"When did she change her mind?"
"About the third time I knocked her on her arse."
-
Rion and Tate
"Hey. You alright up here?"
"Yeah. I'll come down soon. Sorry."
"Don't need you to be sorry. Just checking that you're all right."
-
"You going to eat with us today?"
"I'm not… I'm not hungry. Really."
"Ah. Well, I could use a hand with the washing up - last time I let Fig do it, she blunted my best knife slaying 'soap-mephits'."
"Heh. All right."
-
"Would you like a book? I can have Jhessem drop one up. Maybe she'll even read it with you."
"Jhess…? Eh, no. That's all right. I'm all right."
"What if I tell her not to do the goblin voice?"
"I guess… that would be okay."
-
"You don't need to watch the door, you know. No one's getting in that we don't want to."
"They don't need to get past the door. They could just b-board it up and burn the place."
"True, I suppose. But you have something out there that you didn't, in your last house."
"…Fig."
"Fig."
Jord and Jhessem
"Bootprints on the tabletop. You haven't been poking around the top shelves again - have you, Jhessem?"
"Of course not. Her diaries are off-limits."
"And written in code too, I'm afraid."
"I know. It's not a very good code."
-
"Well, what are we reading now? More Alaundo?"
"No. I'm looking for any histories about this Absolute."
"I wouldn't bother. It's a new god - unknowable and mysterious."
"It's just another cult. And cults are common as muck."
"Huh. So sayeth the wise Jhessem."
-
"Try that hand-bill on fungal poultices. We might be tending the injured here before long."
"Perhaps you should brush up on the herb-lore yourself, Jord. Mother's vines are looking a little weedy."
"Why are the quiet ones always the cruellest?"
-
"That reminds me. I'm working on our family tree - I've already placed Rion. You're next."
"Hah. Well, I'm afraid you won't find us dangling from any of the same branches, sproutling."
"So we'll graft on another. A druid should know how to do that, shouldn't he?"
"I… suppose he should, at that."
Jord to plants
"You three have been just guzzling the water recently. Save some for the others, all right?"
"Coming along nicely there, Floki. Good, strong roots."
"Those leaves are a little darker than I'd like, Felicis. Bad soil? Hm. Don't tell mother…"
"Oh, come on, Ferdinand, I just trimmed you."
-
Rion and Jord are definitely trying their best to be big siblings! Rion is very gentle with Tate (who, from that last dialogue, seems to have experienced some trauma before being adopted by Jaheira - there's a letter that suggests his biological parents were amongst the first taken by the cult), Jhessem is a character, Jord and his plants are adorable, and Rion and Fig are very much cut from the same cloth.

Learning about my Rook through banter. Just a little self-indulgent writing.
-
Bellara: So...you're Dalish, right?
Rook: Yep.
Bellara: But...you don't have Vallaslin.
Rook: I don't.
Bellara: Did you leave before you could get it?
Rook: No. My father isn't Dalish, and I was born in a city - I joined my mother's clan later. Didn't feel like the Vallaslin would suit me at the time.
Bellara: Oh.
-
Lucanis: Rook, what foods would you like prepared?
Rook: Anything really. Dalish, Free Marches, Tevinter, any kind of sea food.
Lucanis: Good to know.
-
Rook: You know, Taash, you don't have to choose to be Qunari or Rivaini.
Taash: What, you think I don't know that?
Rook: Hold your dragons. I'm saying - I'm Dalish and from a city. I respect the Vhenadahl and the halla. I sang prayers to Andraste and to the creators...before, you know, we knew shit.
Taash: Okay.
Rook: It's all important, and...you're all of it, put together into a unique experience of yourself.
Taash: I'll think about it.
-
Neve: Alright, your accent is not Tevinter, Antivan, Fereldan, or Orlesian. You're a Marcher.
Rook: She's found me out!
Neve: Now to figure out where.
Rook: Do you want me to tell you or is it more fun for you to put the clues together?
Neve: Don't tell me.
-
Rook: Fucking Venatori!
Harding: You really hate them.
Rook: Assholes kill people and use my gods as a fucking excuse.
Harding: You made that one explode.
Rook: Yeah, well, sometimes we deal with personal shit by exploding an evil shithead.
-
Neve: I've got it.
Rook: Oh do tell!
Neve: Kirkwall - Varric recruited you, told you to keep where you're from a secret.
Rook: Good thought but nope. Not from Kirkwall, and thank goodness for that.
Neve: Dammit.
-
Lucanis: You're quite good with that blade Rook. Who taught you?
Rook: My mother. She's a very skilled swordswoman. All of her kids are mages but she insisted we all learn how to defend ourselves with weaponry against Templars.
Lucanis: Smart woman. You have siblings?
Rook: Yeah, two older brothers.
Lucanis: Why am I not surprised you're the baby?
Rook: Because I am baby.
-
Bellara: I don't understand. Why not get the Vallaslin?
Rook: My clan was informed of its true meaning. My keeper started offering everyone a choice.
Bellara: True meaning?
Rook: Slave markings, apparently. Makes sense now with what we know of the gods.
Bellara: That's horrible!
Rook: My brother decided to get his despite that. He said "Whatever they were, they are now how we find each other. How we take pride in who we are." I didn't feel ready. I don't know if I will ever feel ready.
Bellara: That...makes a lot of sense, actually. Thank you.
-
Davrin: You saw the Inquisitor, right?
Rook: Yeah. For someone who has been fighting for so long, she looked great.
Davrin: She's like you - Dalish but no Vallaslin.
Rook: There's a few of us out there.
Davrin: I wonder how she got rid of it.
Rook: Ah. Don't like Ghilan'nain's design upon you?
Davrin: Most days it doesn't bother me, but some days...it makes my skin crawl.
Rook: I'll try to ask her next time I see her.
-
Neve: Alright. You don't have Vallaslin because your clan found out information about them from ancient times. You showed an odd familiarity with the inquisitor. You said you are both Dalish and from a city. You hate the Venatori. You're from Wycome.
Rook: Huzzah! You discovered it!
Neve: You were there when the Venatori tried to take over.
Rook: They poisoned our wells. Blamed the elves in the alienage. They killed so many.
Neve: That means your mother was from clan Lavellan - the same clan the Inquisitor was from.
Rook: That would be my clan.
Neve: No wonder Varric gave you a code name and made it so hard to find anything out about you.
Rook: I was twelve when Miriel, I mean, the Inquisitor, left the clan. We were so proud of her, and so worried for her. When she came back...without her Vallaslin...there was a lot of heartbreak that day.
-
Solas: You knew the Inquisitor.
Rook: I did. And you broke her heart.
Solas: I didn't have a choice.
Rook: From what she's said - you did. You just chose wrong.

Chapter 3: Are all the good times getting gone?
Fandom: Detroit Become Human Ships: Hank x Connor x Gavin Rating: Explicit, 🔞Sexual content🔞 Tags: The Eden Club Sequel fic, Consensual Sex Worker Connor, Polycule dynamics, Porn With Plot, Evil Kamski, Drama, Funny, Gavin Reed is Bad at Feelings, Threesome - M/M/M, Semi public sex, Elijah Kamski & Gavin Reed are Half-Siblings/Twins Preview:
“Mandatory ANGER MANAGEMENT meetings? You’re FUCKING KIDDING right?!”
“Not really helping your CASE here HANK,” Fowler exclaims, frustration of his own close to boiling over.
“Jeffery what the fuck’s going on huh? Did I piss you off or something? Why are you taking his side? You haven't even heard what I have to say!”
“You punched a subordinate officer Hank!”
Which, is true, but-
“I punched an asshole who was shit-talking an ex-employee on the clock! What happened to due process huh? There were two other people in that room! If you wanted the real story you could have asked either of them!”
“Detective Reed and Officer Chen were in the room,” Fowler scoffs dismissively. “Do you really think either of them can be considered bipartisan witnesses?”
Hank can feel the vein that rests between his forehead about to explode. This can’t really be happening right? Did he slip on the ice out front and knock himself unconscious just to wake up in Bizarro World?
“What happened with Reynolds’ android case at the Eden club?”
Hank doesn't know why his instinct demands that as the first line of questioning, but it proves, as always, to be the right one, because Jeff's eyebrows scrunch together in confusion.
“...What case at the Eden Club?”
[its always free to read my stuff! but tips, coffee, and comments do in fact help me work faster!]

Knowing that Alex understood, at least somewhat, was helpful. It made him feel less alone about everything. His siblings weren’t much help with talking about this sort of thing, so Henry usually kept it locked up tight. “No, I doubt that they can’t with her. You either, honestly. You’ve got your mother’s spirit, you know. Your dad’s too. I see a lot of them in you. Their best qualities, really.” He didn’t know if saying that would do more harm than good, but it was true all the same. Alex got the best of Ellen and Oscar, June too, even if they didn’t know it.
“Hm, I should hope so. Oxford graduate and all, you know.” Henry grinned at him then, the first smile he’d had since Alex had gotten there. “My knight in shining armor. I will take that as I can always count on you, love.” Henry settled his head on Alex’s shoulder, leaning into him some. “I will try to do better for you though, to be better and give you what I can. You are everything to me Alex, I know I haven’t always shown it, but just know that it’s true.”
Something tense and bound begins to unwind a little in Alex as Henry talks. It feels like the storm is passing, and finally, finally he's breaking through. if Kensington is the storm then Henry is the sun, and Alex doesn't care how cheesy it sounds, he'll never say it aloud (mostly, probably).
"I get it. I know you think I don't, but I do. Not in the same way but since ma got elected, you get people who look at you different, people who never would have before because they figure you can help them somehow, like anyone can tell ma what to do if she doesn't want to," he laughed quietly at that, a proper little chuckle. "You're not an idiot, Hen. A bit slow on the uptake, maybe," he added, chancing a tease, hoping it would break a little of the tension, "but not an idiot. You're actually very smart.... and i'll storm the fucking castle however many times it takes. FYI."

going through my old journals as part of therapy homework and i'm reading a section written in the emotional wreckage of a full-on breakdown when i get hit with this line:
There is never a satisfying answer to ‘Why didn’t they love me?’
like wow babe. good fucking point
#like you were on the ground biting the carpet and dry sobbing while you wrote that and still. good fucking point#not a shitpost#cptsd#and it's true. there's never a satisfying answer#the truth is i know why i wasn't loved#i analyzed my parent's traumas and abuse to death. i understand why i alienated and was alienated from my siblings#i know why my mom was too overwhelmed to be capable of nurturing#i know why my dad vanished into addiction and avoidance#the details of our cycles of trauma and cptsd and family history i have a phd in all of it#i understood perfectly. i spent years studying and now i knew the answer#and guess what? IT WAS NOT SATISFYING!!!#because they still didn't love me! and i still couldn't change that!#it was still a completely unsatisfying state of affairs!#so like. when the people who are supposed to love you...don't.#when the people who are supposed to take care of you...fail to#you can look for answers and reasons and explanations#but that's not actually going to FIX your situation.#and it's probably not within your ability TO fix the situation. (and definitely not your job)#because you don't need answers--you need a new situation#*inserts Just Walk Out. You Can Leave!!! (Running Skeleton) Meme*#and yes. walking out isn't always possible.#but for you i hope it will be one day soon. and i hope you build the courage to take that leap.#stepping away from the people who failed to love you...it feels like being untethered but also like being lighter than air#new and scary. immensely relieving. the future opens up. empty but empty like a canvas. blindingly bright until your eyes adjust#like climbing out of a pit you called home and for the first time realizing how bright the light of day can truly be#when you aren't just getting glimpses from the bottom of a hole
