i was drawing this while watching the show with my mum for the first time (for her, it was my second watch) and felt a bit cheeky showing her this as a wip knowing its from the very last episode of s2 hehhe-

The process of making this was a bit different to my usual process - First off I actually started by adjusting the colours of the reference image, this made everything a lot easier and somehow felt less cheaty than editing the colours after i was finished with the piece, even though its basically the same thing just flipped. Then the main process was basically the same as usual, although I used a different brush than my usual beloved Habook Canvas rectangular brush. But while finishing the rendering of this piece I actually, for once, used a brush with a soft edge to smooth some edges out and sharpen other edges! It made a world of difference in making the piece feel less like one of those "make your photo into a painting" filters and more like something I had actually made that i can be somewhat proud of. :]]

i checked the project time in procreate and it says 22 hrs hehh- That is not a testament to the skill it might take to make a painting heavily relying on a ref image (without tracing) btw. Don't feel too intimidated by my slowness to try this if you want to!! I believe almost anyone could do this with way less practice than you might think, especially if you have a digital art program with a liquify tool to make proportional adjustments easier.

Sorry for not sharing these sooner I tend to be nervous when posting art due to the feeling of it not being perfect or finished but I want to get some of my work out there and I like to start off with my GGY design! I leaned into the more sci-fi and futuristic aspect seeing that it fits with the hacker aesthetic

"I have never finished." you partially lied.

A man had never made you finish, that was objectively true. One of the downsides of knowing what you liked so well was that no one could ever touch you like you did yourself.

However, you were thoroughly enjoying the way Spencer's hands were grazing your skin, and his hips were dresperately bucking up as you straddled his lap. His lips had attached themselves to your mouth, a messy, lewd battle of tongues that both of you knew exactly where it was leading.

"We can fix that" he muttered against the kiss.

"I don't think you can" you scoffed teasingly.

Your words made his body crawl with the thrill of a challenge. He let go of your swollen lips to look up at you, and with a clumsy movement flipped your bodies to have you beneath him, his hands immediately wrapping around your wrists to pin them over your head.

You raised an eyebrow in question. It had been certainly hot but it was unlike him to show so much boldness, at least it was on your daily lives as coworkers.

"Cat got your cocky tongue?" his demeanor had completely changed to, almost, a point of no recognition. he bent over further, having his lips right by your ear "Don't understimate me."

"Don't take it personally, Spence." you tilted your head to press a gentle kiss to his cheek "I'm just hard to please."

His hands moved further up to put your wrists together, pinning them down with only one hand. The index finger of his free one trailed down the side of your face lovingly, ultimately landing on your chin. It was the first time you had been so intimate with him, that you were able to truly see his eyes pooling with desire.

"I'm going to tell you what's going to happen." he began to drag his finger down your neck "I'm going to kiss every inch of your body with so much tenderness that your skin will burn even days after." the digit then moved lower, drawing circles on the middle of your chest "But that won't be enough for you. You want to be marked, to have evidence of how crazy you drove me, to display how wildly you're desired, and I plan on giving you that, beacuse tomorrow I'll need to remember that I had you for myself and myself only."

His voice was coarse and low, and you couldn't see his face from the position that you were in. You were thankful for that, though, because it meant he couldn't see yours contort with arousing anticipation, something that would only feed his ego. Your train of thought, however, was interrupted by his voice again.

"At this point, you will be craving for more, pleading even." instead of just his finger, this time his entire palm was pressed to your stomach, and you realized that you had been bucking your hips up against him accidentally "But I'm patient, I won't be satisfied until I have tasted everything there's for me to taste. I wonder if you'll be as sweet as I've always imagined." his palm went back to moving again, this time further down until it landed on your sex, not quite touching it, just hovering his fingers over the area.

"And I won't stop. Not when my tongue is ravishing in your insides." one of his fingers trailed up your slit, and he sighed in content when he felt the easiness with which it slid up from all the slick "Not when your legs close around my head to keep me in place, or your back arches off the bed with pleasure, I won't stop until I've sampled every drop of your extascy."

Unfortunately for you, he was already acomplishing half of the goals he was proposing. Your legs were beginning to tremble, your walls clenching without anything to clench on, just aching to be taken. Desperate to be fucked.

"And then I'll finally fuck you." as if he could read your mind, your eyes were forced open by his statement. you hadn't realized you had closed them to further the power of your imagination trying to picture his every word.

You realized his face was no longer by yours, instead he was staring you down with a light, triumphant grin on his face. Shit, you had given yourself away, even though you were not going to budge that easy.

"You want that, don't you? My cock between your legs." he said once you were unable to form a word. Little did you know, his teasing was also a trick. Once your lips were parted open to retaliate, his thumb snuck past them and pressed to your tongue. Instinctively, you sucked around it. "You want to be taken, to be ruined. And I'll do it, I'll ruin you completely, because after I have you, you won't be able to be touched by anyone else. I'll fuck you so intensely, so passionately you won't be able to think of anyone else."

He was enjoying every bit of seeing you so needy. Face hot, toes curled, eyes drunken with lust. His thumb withdrew from your mouth, his palm landing on your cheek instead.

"Because no one has craved you for as long as I have, and no one has loved you with the intensity that I do." without thinking, you nuzzled into his touch "And when I'm done with you, when your climax makes you unable to think on your own, I'll do it all over again, until the next time you touch yourself, you realize nothing compares to my body on yours, that I know you more than you know yourself, that my dick is the only thing that can truly please you."

Never did you know Spencer could be so eloquent with words. Let alone have you dripping having barely been touched. But he was right on one thing, he had been there through good and bad, through adventure and lethargy. He knew you inside and out, every shade of you except the one he desired the most.

You knew him about the same, but you always thought of him as unable to satisfy you, like the rest of the men you'd met before. You were realizing now that you had been dead wrong, and the sky and stars he was promising to you was probably all true. But you weren't about to give him the satisfaction.

"Such a big talker." you mocked, and you struggled a little to have him let go of your wrists, and he did, your fingers tangling in his hair "Don't think you can pull all that, though."

Your tone was clearly challenging, and a chill ran through you spine when you saw him smile regardless of the remark. He slid down the bed, and you feared that you might have killed the mood. You were mentally prepared to beg if that's what he wanted, but in reality you couldn't spend another time without Spencer touching you in some way.

Instead, you saw him position his face in between your legs, his eyes locked with yours filled with confidence and pride.

"Watch me."

Finds out and tries to ‘secretly’ commission you lmao. Makes it totally obvious too, his handwriting is shit and eveeeerrryyyyone knows who Tobi really is…. Plus how can you even begin without discussing what he wants done!! Duh, Obito! Unfortunately for him, you are more interested in drawing matters of the flesh. He’ll only show his chest, nothing more.

‘That’s fine.’ You shrug, and get to work. Obito, however, does not have the resolve to sit still! It’s frustrating to no end, but alas, after what seems an eternity— its done. Sort of. Still much to add, but the basics are there and you’ll work better when he’s not asking how does it look every twenty minutes.

Eventually you do finish this beautiful piece of him, and Obito cries. You made his scars tolerable and beautiful with your mind’s creativity, he feels less self conscious about them, only a little.

Shisui:

Is the least normal about it when he discovered your sketchbook — more like snatched and played keep away. Had to fight him for it, literally. Will ask you to paint/draw him naked…many times lol and you respectfully say no... Not that he likes people to see him naked (ok maybe a little?) but he secretly hopes it might happen one day. It would be a private thing for the two of you, cause he wants that ass.

And when you do cave to his whim, just to satiate him. He’s nervous lmao. Had this oh so macho man idea of rocking a hard on but Shisui simply maintains his usual semi. It’s nice though, you make sure it’s extremely detailed..as he asked for.

But, ‘(y/n)… this is chibbi!!!’ Lol, jokes on Shisui!! He didn’t say how to draw his pp.

Itachi:

Is the most normal about it. Though he still will praise you every time you finish a piece and show him, he is still massively impressed. How does your wrist not get tired? …maybe this is why your hand jobs are so good. 😈 Just watching you try a new technique (pointillism, which is my favorite style) makes his wrist hurt. Enjoys when you ask him for ideas! He has lots of them! Mostly…obscure and derelict landscapes though.

Would not be opposed to having his portrait done, but it’s really not his style. He is disciplined enough to sit still but doesn’t see the value in it. Not until the final product is revealed, does he truly understand how important this piece was. You’ve captured his personality in a new light.

For a long time I never went back to the comic because the writing I did was awful. Everyone was acting out of character, it was SUPER dramatic. I wrote Peso's character all wrong. Uhg, awful awful awful.

And then I was kept away from going back because people would not stop asking me to finish it. "Why did you abandon this comic?" "Are you gonna finish it?" "Why did you stop drawing it" "Go back and finish the crab comic" Like, it was so frustrating.

...Buuuuutt,, rewriting it? Hmmm... I'm way too wrapped up with projects to start this anytime soon. But I wont lie this ask really got me thinking about it-

I dug into the series a bit and took a look around the fanbase. And I decided that it just wasn't really my thing.

Although I did love the character designs and I think they'd be really fun to draw, I didn't think I'd get along with the fandom. I can see myself huddled in my own little corner with all my headcannons and stuff, and I wouldn't really want to interact with anyone else. :/

Also my favorite character is probably Julie or Howdy XDD

I use an XPPen Artist 13.3 Pro. Its a tablet with a screen! :))

As for my drawing program I use FireAlpaca. Its free and really good for beginners and pros! Highly recommend if you're just getting into digital art. Also thank you!! :D

Wanna know a good place to start if you genuinely struggle with that? Make 1 character that is based off of you. And then make a second character that is based off of someone in your life that you have 0 romantic interest in what so ever. Like your Mom, or your Dad, siblings, Uncle, dog literally anyone. It should be impossible to twist those 2 characters together because they are modeled after you and ur mom. You should look at them and say "thats me and my mom" or "thats me and my brother" Those 2 should then be characters that are 100% protected from becoming a ship. :0

This actually reminded me of my transformer ocs. I modeled the characters after the drivers/owners. And people wanted to ship them together and I was like "for 1 they are my OCs so thats kind'a odd but 2 those two characters are based off of siblings. They absolutely should not- in ANY universe, be paired together"

Personally not a huge fan of the bright blue color he has. Seeing his Bonnie Bowl artwork everywhere I expected him to be his usual purple..

As for my Bonnie I think he'd get along pretty well with his Glamrock counterpart! But when it comes to the Bowling ally they'd be rivals. >:)

1: Yes! My Peach, Daisy, Wario and Waluigi are all the same species, which is not human. They are this incredibly tall elf like species that closely resembles humans and has many biological similarities.. but ultimately they are very different species.

2: Its hard to say.. I've been known to change my mind a lot so maybe? Honestly I hope that someday these feelings towards fanart will vanish and I will be able to engage with my fans more. But for now,, noooo fanworks :(

For those who are new, this is a transfem Leo art tournament! We all love our girl so much, she deserves a chance to be appreciated and bragged about! The main purpose of this tournament is to give everyone a chance to share their art and an excuse to ramble about our babygirl, we're keeping this light and friendly!

If you're interested in participating, you don't have to worry about being in the interest check first, that was just to make sure we reached the minimum number of participants for the tournament, there is no maximum number, everyone is welcome!

And for those who were in the interest check, I'll be following up everyone who was on the fence soon, and if anyone who was definitely in hasn't submitted their entry by the end of the week I'll be checking on them too, no pressure, just want to make sure nobody is missing out!

Now for the art itself! I have next to no limitations here, as long as its transfem Leo practically anything goes! It can be any TMNT iteration, whether its canon or one you made yourself. AUs are allowed, and any type of art is welcome, digital or traditional, sketched or lined or coloured, whatever you want!

And it doesn't have to be new either, you can make something specifically for the tournament or you can find your favourite drawing of her and submit that! The pressure is low here, if you can't tell.

Making of Ashes to Ashley

Recently I posted my comic Ashes to Ashley, and got such a tremendously kind and loving response that I felt like sharing a little bit more about where it came from.

The story is about a transgender awakening, where the quiet and somber Ash explodes out of the closet as the loud and colorful Ashley. This was always the plan, however the details changed along the way. Quite quickly I realized that I was writing about myself and my own trans journey. I never played in a band and I don't imagine I'll ever grow bunny ears (sadly), but still Ashley is undoubtedly a reflection of myself. I just allowed life to become a stage and gender performance a rock concert.

Above are the first idea doodles I drew late at night in early April. I quite enjoyed giving Ashley lipstick and prominent eye shadow, since I hadn't ever done a character like that before. The idea was a bit of exaggerated femininity that accidentally becomes raw punk expression. One or two people have pointed out the Um Jammer Lammy similarities, and they are absolutely not coincidental. Initially I imagined Ashley would've been more reluctant about her transformation, which is why she looks a bit more annoyed in some of my sketches, but the story became more bright and funny if it was made immediately clear that this all happens off of her own volition.

Some method and color tests. My girlfriend suggested I instead go a lot more raw with it, which is why I ended up adamantly using an ugly sponge brush built into Photoshop. Sapphic Disaster are some form of punk-shoegaze band, so combining rough pencil linework with crunchy texture coloring felt like a fitting visual representation of them. This also side-stepped the biggest problems I've always had with drawing comics – dealing with inking is a boring waste of time, and working digitally always makes me fixate on perfection. By just using pencil on paper I had to stick with whatever errors couldn't be saved by a regular eraser, in fact I dedicated myself to only using an old worn down Bic mechanical pencil and embraced the idea that the comic would consistently look a bit off and amateurish. Of course I allowed myself the luxury of cleaning up my drawings digitally before coloring, but that can only take you so far. This way of working helped me make fast progress and kept each step engaging, I've never had as much fun drawing a comic as I had with Ashes to Ashley.

Here's a before and after from initial scan to finished panel. I often only tidy up around focal points like faces or hands, and allow the rest to remain as it is, usually parts like the legs or Ashley's ears.

Character references and my initial color picks, they went through small changes as I went along. I liked giving all the band members different sorts of rabbit ears to make them all look distinct from each other.

Here's some ideas for the Sapphic Disaster band logo and the comic's color palette, notice how Ashley is more vibrant than Ash.

While working I filled up numerous papers with doodles trying to workshop panels and layouts. It's too much to show all of them here, so I composed a few collages of my favorites.

It was pivotal for me that Ash would always look painfully cute. The sketch of the table scene with Floyd shows a rare out-of-character confident and laid-back Ash. In the presence of Floyd?! Never!

I was very concerned about the reader recognizing the old Ash when first seeing Ashley. She may be all excited about being a girl, but her nervous cluelessness remains. I ended up going back and redrawing two panels in Ashley's introduction to strengthen this impression.

For those not in the know, shoegaze is a rock subgenre that centers around noisey guitar textures, typically achieved through heavy use of effect pedals at the musicians feet; hence the name. When Ashley plays her guitar she produces a cacophony of strange sounds, the reader will have to imagine what they actually sound like, but I always imagined their opening number "I Wanna Be a Girl" to sound like a couple of amateurs trying to recreate Lush's Blackout.

The page where the band go around looking for Ashley while she's receiving her makeover was shoehorned in at a later stage for pacing purposes. That's why Gabriel is suddenly back to pulling cords after previously claiming they're all set, oops!

One of the core rules to this story is that everyone is always overly supportive of Ashley's transition no matter what. This is what makes the otherwise stern and serious Floyd especially funny, my girlfriend was pivotal in sprucing up his dialogue, adding bits like "have you seen the health care waiting lists?, "I know an endocrinologist who owes me a favor or two" and "give me 35% more danger"

Towards the end I discovered that Ashley and Debbie dancing was apparently the most important panel in the entire comic, judging by how much I tried to perfect it. (For the record, my favorite panel is when Ashley screams into the microphone that she wants to be a girl.) Maybe Ashley and Debbie dancing should've replaced the final full-page panel? Well, we got a lot of cute doodles out of it regardless. Just kiss already!

Initially I imagined Ashley to be standing alone in the "could this be the real me" final panel, but I realized her odd family of friends was equally a part of the real her. She was always right where she needed to be, she just needed to find herself within that place. (I ended up giving Ashley a cigarette because otherwise it looked like she was praying.)

Here are some ideas for the cover illustration, of course in 1:1 format to look like an album cover. Up until last minute I planned for the comic to have You Made Me Realize as its subtitle to distinguish it from eventual follow-ups, which is why the You Made Me Realize EP cover art is paraphrased in the top-middle. I ended up just going with Ashes to Ashley to keep it clean and simple. The title Ashes to Ashley was blurted out immediately by my girlfriend when I first showed her my concepts for the story. It's perfect, she's perfect.

I drew two Ashes and two Ashleys for the cover art and let my fingers smudge all over the latter. While most obviously riffing on the cover for My Bloody Valentine's Loveless, it's equally taking from the Ecstasy of Saint Theresa's Pigment.

And there you have it.

However I never intended this to be the full extent of Ashley's story, just a satisfying and complete end of a chapter. I've already finished writing the next story, Today Forever, and I hope I can get it out to you all soon enough. Your love for Ashley keeps me going.

Four years ago, I drew my first ever finished digital art piece, using a Huion 420 tablet off of Amazon, and Krita. I was so proud of it, I showed it off to my friends and family on instagram, and I didn’t think I could get any better than this. Fast forward to the next year, and I drew it again, just to see how much better I could make it.

This time I used a Wacom tablet with Krita. It was one of the cheaper ones, but still an upgrade. I was even more proud of this one, but I wasn’t really that happy with it. I didn’t like how Papyrus turned out, and it seemed so awkwardly spaced and posed. I knew I still had more to learn, and I rushed it, since I didn’t think I could do any better. I then decided to redraw it again the next year.

This time I used Ibis Paint X and a small stylus on my phone. I was ecstatic with how this came out. I thought this was the absolute best I could ever do, but I still had little nitpicks about it. Again, I struggled a lot with drawing Papyrus, but this time I was also unhappy with the colors and shading, and how Sans was drawn (I have no idea why I made him thicc). But again, I redrew it the next year.

This one was a huge confidence booster for me. I had just gotten a brand new laptop from my parents: A Lenovo Yoga, with a Wacom bamboo ink stylus. It was the best gift I ever received, but on top of that, they got me Clip Studio Paint PRO. So I was ready to make some good ass art. This time I sketched everything out on paper, then finished it in CSP. I even attempted a background, which didn’t come out too bad. Papyrus doesn’t look horribly off model, and the poses and composition overall was just better. I used a clean sketch for the lineart, since that was a big struggle with my previous versions, and I used colors other than black and white for shading. After I made this, I felt like I didn’t need to continue redrawing it, because I thought I was at my peak.

I redrew it this year.

I used my Lenovo Yoga, but this time I had a Wacom bamboo plus, and Clip Studio Paint EX. I added more characters, and took a little bit more inspiration from the original, but I mostly wanted it to feel more alive. I finally perfected how I draw Papyrus, and Toriel, Asgore, and Frisk aren’t statues anymore. I showed off what I’ve learned about lighting and shading, did actually clean lineart, and I even did a full background! I’m so proud of this, and so happy with how far I’ve come as an artist, and I can’t wait to see what my future self draws next year.

Yet, here you were, finally standing at the end of that storm. The sense of relief that washed over you, it was a moment you had dreamed of for the past few years

Same for Norton, your childhood friend and roommate, shared your happiness too. The dean was kind enough to assigning you both to the same dorm room, trully Norton made journey far more bearable and enjoyable. Norton had grown into a charming person, differentiating on how he was childish back then, it made him far more attractive and the last thing you knew, you had fallen head over heels for him.

Receiving the final results as you both passed on, Norton suggested celebrating with a dinner out. It was nothing fancy, only some grilled barbecue while shit-talking about the unfairness of some professors before and little drinks here and there as a cheers for finally leaving that hell hole.

But as usual, a little too much to drink had led to one thing after another. Heartfelt confessions were blurted out in a moment of vulnerability between the two of you. Now here you both were, back in your shared dormitory, lips locked in a deep, passionate kiss, tongue fighting for dominance. Truth be told, you had never imagined that Norton would accept your confession. You were just happy to have that feelings off your chest, unaware that he had reciprocated the same feelings for so long.

His touch was tender, seeking your consent with every move. He kissed each part of you deeply, savoring the moment as if it were his last, each parts of your known physical insecurities. When his digits found their way to your entrance, you arched your back sharply, especially sensitive knowing it's your first time at this. Norton was honored to be your first, treating you so gently that made your heart swell with comfort.

Taking his time, he played with you, his fingers moving rhythmically in and out of your heat. His mouth was not left lingering, licking and biting your sensitive nipples, eyes looking up to catch your expressions of pleasure. Every moan, every gasp showing how skilled he was, preparing for you to take his size.

With care, Norton positioned you in a mating press, pressing you down so he could see your cute face throughout. His eyes, dark with desire, locked onto yours as he finally aligned himself with your entrance, the sensation of him entering you was overwhelming. SPHALERITE He/They Pronouns Mohs Hardness: 4 and 3 Nicknames: Sphae, Hale, or Phae The third ever gem to be born, the original troublemaker - despite his age, he's considered an honorary delinquent. Though he has a low hardness, this fucker fears absolutely nothing. They're the teacher you never want to piss off, but they're actually very gentle in nature. They will only ever wear the winter uniform. Somehow, they have teeth, unlike the other gems. Sharp and made of Calcite, they require frequent maintenance, and he must speak quite carefully. If a tooth breaks, he completely forgets different words. When they were born, they vehemently refused to let Kongo Sensei remove teeth. Some stuff I didn't write on the drawing: Sphalerite was the first gem teacher, and their first student was Blue Diamond- mainly because Blue was afraid of Kongo Sensei. After some trial and error, and a lot of help from Yellow Diamond, Sphalerite managed to teach Blue with their needs in mind- and gained a new purpose in the process. --------------------

How we got here from there

Or, the long journey of a longform long-running webcomic about a long man with long wings.

In the spirit of @feathernotes and @phantomarine who have been talking about just starting your webcomic and not worrying about being "ready", I was inspired to do a post about White Noise's origin! I'm a little limited by the fact that I either left behind or destroyed a lot of the art I have from prior to 2009, so you'll have to take my word for it.

Cringe Truth below the cut!

The Cringe Truth of White Noise is that it has its roots in a Pokemon x Yu Yu Hakusho x self-insert(s) roleplay thread I used to do with an internet friend I made on Neopets guild forums way back in 2002-ish. We would come home from school every day and RP over AIM, and then when we had to get offline, whoever left first would email the other one, and we would continue via email until we were back on AIM at the same time.

Liya was my self insert.

This isn't even remotely the earliest art of her, it's just the earliest I have on hand. I was drawing her for almost a decade by the time I drew this one. Imagine the earlier drawings as being like I traced over Sailor Moon characters that I printed out from deviantART and gave them a brown ponytail.

The funny thing is Liya really hasn't changed much from her original form! I also had loose brown curls that I kept in a ponytail 24/7 to the point that it showed when I had it down (which is why her hair is 'dented' like that). I did it because I was trans and didn't know it; she does it because she hasn't realized she can just cut it off and be butch yet.

Other characters that date back from this time period: Yoshi (originally an InuYasha/Rurouni Kenshin pastiche), Hawk (I don't remember when he got wings but they were white at first), Numair (named after the Tamora Pierce character and filling a Koenma kind of role), Helly (sort of--I had an elf character named Kamui who had the same temperament, and he was eventually transmuted into Helly) and...Kurogane.

I've never named Kurogane but he appears in the background of the comic a few times, as my own personal inside joke.

Vlad came along somewhere between this RP period and planning the comic, but I can't remember when or why. I don't have drawings from that time (~2004?) but he was the first character I drew when I got a tablet for the first time.

Everyone else came along later when I started actually planning out the comic.

All this said: the reason I started White Noise as a weekly webcomic is because I wanted to learn to draw better.

At the time I was in college majoring in animation, but I didn't feel like I was learning very much at all (the program was badly structured; I had more art history classes than anything else. It was a mess.) I was also working nights in order to feed myself, and so had a lot of downtime. I had this story rattling around in my head from my RP days, so I figured, why not just give it a go?

For posterity here's a photo of a chapter 1 panel in progress, back in 2011 with my typical college diet in the bg:

(Chapter 1 was originally pencil on paper, scanned in and colored in PS. I later re-drew it to make it fully digital to match with the rest of the comic.)

There's been a lot of talking about not waiting until you're 'ready' to start a webcomic, and I agree with that sentiment. Try framing it like this: making a comic every week for years and years will improve your art way more than any prep work you can do before starting the comic. It's like learning to swim. You can read about swimming all you want, but you're not going to really figure it out until you do it. If your early comics are bad, well, that's normal. It used to be an expected part of doing webcomics; I blame the shift into expecting webcomics to be polished from start to finish partly on commercialization in the space, but that's an angry rant for another time.

So do your webcomic. Put it on ComicFury or make a janky little site for it. Be okay with imperfect pages and be prepared to shout into the void for a while. Even if it's always a hobby, if it never makes you a dime or wins you any awards--that's fine! You'll be a lot happier if you learn not to worry about that stuff, and just make something that will help you grow and make you happy. We could do with a lot more work like that in the world imo.

This is Beetlejuice from a really weird fucking dream I had (my mortician character was his coworker at a grocery store in the dream fun fact)

The premise was he caught her smoking weed in the back of the store and there was a big montage of them doing weed every day at work and then she said something that made him think she was gonna tell the boss and get him fired so he got a gun out but didn't end up shooting her and the dream ended (artstyle was vaguely south-park-esque??)

It has been a while since I started digital art,

Quite a while.

So here is a 'progress over the last two years' since I gained access to a drawing tablet.

This is my first ever digitally illustrated piece- compared to my latest one-

So, a little bit different.

I do think my art took quite a jump around June 2022, when I took a break from my Steve comic strip, (for obvious reasons- it was about Technoblade's polar bear so...) and decided to try practicing gesture drawing to see if it helped my general anatomy knowledge. This is before,

And this next one is after.

The most obvious change here is that I switched to using thinner lines. There is a gap of about two months between these.

This was when I realised that you could improve art by practicing it (mind-blowing I know), and then started to do just that. Some other notable jumps forward would be when I discovered the airbrush-

Well, discovered a new method of shading with it anyway.

Then after that I had a few pictures that I actually still like, despite them being pretty old at this point, the one below is actually from September of 2022-

I mean, the hands are a bit iffy, but the rest looks alright. This was when I was going through a bit of a melanie martinez phase-

This next one was from January of 2023, I'd only just gotten into bungou stray dogs via some random memes on pinterest about this weird brown haired guy who had lots of bandages and who had this running gag with wanting to die- I actually looked him up at one point, but that didn't really explain much. The main one that I remember was 'life is short, so make it shorter, shorter than chuuya~'

Which at the time was just kind of confusing,

Then I watched the show and it made perfect sense.

I'd discovered ascendance of a bookworm in like, 2021, but I hadn't really been doing fanart of it since I was mainly doing dsmp related stuff and I kind of assumed nobody would know what on earth I was referencing. Turns out tumblr has a lot more bookworm fans than I orignally anticipated. Instagram still has no clue. I think maybe one person out of my followers on instagram knows what I'm on about-

Then we've got these two which I am still proud of btw-

The first one is from a dystopian/time travel fanfic called viridian.

The second one was after I learned about rim lighting. It was inspired by a song actually, 'crash' by noevaii. (and yes I found that song from a sad-ist animatic, it was cool) The character isn't anyone in particular. They're both from February 2023.

Then there's probably my most liked picture on instagram, (not tumblr, since tumblr knows about bsd and bookworm, but y'know. This was even sadder than I originally intended since the last half of my comic strip was finished AFTER everything happened)

Then the final conclusion of my Steve comic strip in May of 2023.

I don't think my art really changed much in between those, but eh.

Then I switched to doing a bunch of ascendance of a bookworm stuff to see what would happen and turns out there are way more fellow fans out there than I anticipated-

Then I guess my next breakthrough in tumblr popularity, (even if it might not have been a breakthrough in art skills necessarily) was when things went DOWN in the bsd fandom with chapter 109 and I did probably one of my most liked tumblr posts I have ever done-

It was a pretty interesting exercise in shading in monochrome.

Then I started a 30 day art challenge in October that I didn't get past day six of, but it was still pretty fun. This is the best one of those-

After that I spent most of my time studying for the jlpt n5, so I didn't really do that much art related stuff,

This is one of the two non-commission related pictures that I finished over the two months after I kind of gave up on the art challenge. This one's from November,

Then I was occupied with christmas and birthday presents for my siblings, both my little sisters are into ascendance of a bookworm- (completely my fault I am proud to say) so I was able to do stuff related to that, here's a couple of snippets, but you guys don't get the colour version hehe

Anyway, it's been quite a progression since I resolved to master digital art in 2021.

Wow I can't remember the last time I posted something here that I made myself and I probably don't want to remember it lol

Anyway, for a change I really tried hard to make a digital drawing with my relatively new tablet, I've only been learning how to use it consistently for a month so any mistakes are due to my inexperience.

This is a Fan Character from a silly VRCHAT show on youtube that sometimes makes me get too excited, just that, maybe I'll share some lore if I feel like making more drawings of her. Which isn't likely but who knows.

So she is Stella Diamond, a daycare assistant animatronic model, and for those who know what show I'm talking about I can at least tell you two things about her:

She's the replacement that Fazbear sent to Daycare to replace Moon when he stopped doing his job (a little while after Frank was sent to another dimension for the first time lol)

And she hates Sun, Moon, Earth and any other animatronic created by Zven with every fiber of her code. Let's just say that Fazbear programmed her to be competitive in order to prove that she's better than them. Idk, she have problems and imaginary enemies.

video essays talking about drake vs kendrick. i swear ive watched over a hundred videos related to that drama, mostly cause i love kendrick so much and have been a drake hater since 2015. 

And whatever else you think tells me about who you are!

im a big lover of the arts!! both visual (i draw both traditionally and digitally, and have tried painting) and musical (big music fan + very amateur singer and guitarist). i really like movies, but i like movie analysis youtube videos more! in that same vein, i love horror media but am too scared most of the time to actually consume it, so i watch a lot of horror explanation or analysis videos.

im an extremely awkward person to talk to, like severely. also i like minecraft a lot, avid hermitcraft watcher.

Type Fours are so lovely, so internally complex and magnificent and creative despite and perhaps in conjunction with their introversion. I think a fellow introvert would especially appreciate that about you- Anton, specifically.

Another reason I like y’all together is this enneagram type (and MBTI) tends to be very feelings based, very pathos motivated, and that would contrast from Anton whose life and job are so technical, so logos-y. You bring so much light and verve into his life; whenever he sees art, he thinks of you and how it would make you feel. You make him think more about how he feels, you know? The art you create and the way you experience art, the way you enjoy things, makes him marvel.

And you do love to enjoy things with him, to show new things and movies and shows, because his marvel in turn makes things even more fun for you! Anton strikes me as the type of guy who knows nothing about pop culture if left alone, so you get to show him everything. He likes Brooklyn Nine Nine a lot more than he thought. (Terry is his favorite; he also likes yogurt and wants to be a girl dad.) He doesn’t give a single shit about the Kendrick/Drake beef but you’re so animated when you talk about it, he listens raptly. He doesn’t really enjoy horror, but it doesn’t scare him either so he’s a comforting presence whenever you decide to try watching some.

The lyric “just one more night” also made me think of Anton holding onto you the night before he leaves, so I could not resist.

Geordi is the first runner-up that came to mind because he strikes me as the most… artistically inept of the redacted bois if you will- thus, he would feel the most awe and reverence and your prowess. Plus, I like to headcanon him as trans, and we love a t4t couple. Asher is my favorite runner up for you though, but I can’t quite word why.
