I do actually think it makes sense that Davrin treats Rook de Riva and Lucanis so differently at first, despite both being Crows.

Davrin mentions in a conversation with Rook that he has fought alongside convicted murderers who became wardens to avoid execution. He dislikes evil people but speaks very positively of who these wardens have become and approves of a Rook dialogue choice saying people deserve second chances.

The first encounter he has with Rook is meeting them not as a Crow but as the leader of a group they are gathering to help save the world from Blighted Gods. An encounter where Rook helps him try find missing wardens and save the baby griffins - then there is making a hard call on saving an entire city of either Treviso or Minrathous immediately after. From there Rook frequently checks in on different members of the team, supporting them.

Rightly or wrongly depending on the Rook - I think Davrin sees a Rook de Riva as like those murderers. Terrible deeds but moved forwards onto a good, difficult cause. Comrade-in-arms. They earn being viewed as on that second chance very quickly.

Lucanis meanwhile, is met as a Crow. That and while we as players and some other characters do know his good intentions and care - he is comparatively much more withdrawn this stage of game. Sequestering away alone isolated in the kitchen with a demon and seemingly here because of an Antivan Crow contract he was given.

See how Davrin's opinion of Lucanis does change the longer they know of each other too. The longer they fight alongside each other against blighted evil, much like those murderers who became Davrin's comrades-in-arms.

that article going around abt firefox's new ad program is annoying bc it's phrased as though "mozilla has finally TURNED on its people and is SELLING YOU OUT for cold hard cash!!" when. that's not what's happening. it is specifically being implemented to discourage tracking behavior, and literally all the data they are giving to advertisers is aggregate and anonymized, which is like, the opposite of what that post wants you to worry about, lol

I've been thinking about hallucinating infrequently (as opposed to never) since watching Hannibal but tbh I don't care because when I was said I was looking out for "adverse psychological effects", I really just meant having bad dreams and therefore watching earlier. I've actually had a phase in the past where I thought about hallucinating a lot (and by phase I think it was like. at least two years. so this'll probably be shorter than that), and I'm generally very susceptible to Having Things Put On My Mind -- for example, when I was reading The Catcher In The Rye, I was like, 'maybe I should try lying' lol. Even a few weeks after I finished it (this happened last week), I acted like I was taking a phone call walking back to my dorm but I was really just recording myself talking to myself, and while doing that I thought about Holden Caulfield. And I've thought about doing that thing he does where he pretends in his head he's grievously injured. So yeah it doesn't bother me lol.

idk if anyone else felt this way, but in the Shapeshifter ep of Dungeon Meshi, it's treated like a joke that all the copies of Laios are super obviously not him, but isn't it kind of fucked up that Laios's closest companions don't seem to view him as... whole?

None of his companions had an accurate view of him as a person! One of the copies was a stupid, drooling mess! And on top of this, they all believed that because Laios struggles with social cues he wouldn't be observant to them as people. They just... fundamentally don't understand him.

I think the really accurate copies of the rest of the party was drawn from Laios's mind. His powers of observation and analytics are his strength, but that's not the same as being good with social cues.

Anyway. It made me really sad. I know his party cares about him, but it's so isolating to know your friends don't know you.
