You paced around the room waiting for him to arrive home. God, you were so nervous, your hands were sweating. You were thinking until you heard the car lock outside. Anxiety filling up your body. You head to the door and open the door for him. Wasting no time, you speak up.

“We need to talk..” your voice came out more like a whisper instead of a firm and serious one.

“About what..?” Jay asked, looking confused while taking off his shoes and setting his stuff down onto the table nearby. “About us..” you said softly, way too nervous. “Okay..?” He replied, walking away, and sitting down on the couch. Deep inside he was nervous too, but didn’t want to show it.

Lately your relationship hasn’t been the best as you both haven’t had the time for each other, and not only that, things weren’t the same as before. Like how affectionate you both used to be. That includes cuddling, hugging. You missed those feelings of his hugs. But that’s until recently you found out you wished you never did.

“So. I wanted to ask how you feel about this. Our relationship.” You asked him. Not looking up. “Why would you ask such a question..yn..of course I’m happy.”

“Well you don’t seem like it. Always barely having time for me. Your job never got in the way and all of sudden it is?” You spattered out. “Yn..look my work has gotten me a lot more stressed..”

“Yn..you never called me yn. It’s always babe, love, or honey! I swear don’t lie to me Jay, because it’s way too late..” you said trying to hold your tears in. “Lie about what..?” He asked, confused.

“Jay you know, I know there’s someone else, making you way happier than I am. Replacing me. Like I never even existed..!” Shouting. Tears streaming down your face. “And you only stayed out of pity! Why? What does this other woman have that I don’t. You weren’t like this when we started dating! Ha..I was so dumb enough to think you were the one. The one I was going to marry, grow old with. Guess not anymore..” you rante, losing your mind. “Babe..” he tried to explain. “Don’t call me that ever again..” the atmosphere was gloomy. Awkward silence filled the room. Jay didn’t know what to say. Loss for words. He couldn’t say anything; he never wanted you to feel like that. “Did you ever mean anything you said..?” Your question pulled him out of his mind. “Huh- umm..” he couldn’t answer the question. “I did. Promise” he stated. You obviously didn’t believe it.

“I never thought the one person. I loved so dearly, would ever do this, but he did..” you let your tears fall, not trying to hide the fact you’re crying. “Jay..this the last time..I’m going to say this…”

“I love you..” silence filled the room shortly after. You stand there looking at him. Red eyes and puffy face. Oh how Jay wanted to pull you into a hug, comfort you. But he knew that he could no longer, after the mistake he made, there was no going back. Going back to his first love, into the warmth. Guilt is the only thing that he feels.

You chuckled before heading towards the front door. Stopping right in front of it.

“My sister will come by tomorrow to pick my stuff up..goodbye” you said walking out not looking back.

And just like that it was over. And there was no way to fix it.

Conversations with Myself: Neva

Hang on. If Neva not only controlled the Tamagamis but could super-charge them into ultra forms and was doing all this as a long con to liberate Daimakai, then... why bother? Neva is unambiguously the most powerful thing in Daimakai, bar none.

"Except the Third Eye."

Right, except for that. But that was famously lost to history at the start of Dabra's regime. There's a huge window of time where he and Super Tamagami 1 could have walked right up to the capitol and pulled Dabra or Gomah's head straight off their shoulders, and absolutely nothing would have stopped them.

"I think their army of foot soldiers would have stopped them. The Third World arc suggests that Gomah's forces are collectively strong enough to be a serious threat even to people who can beat the Tamagamis."

But if that's the case, why didn't Dabra or Gomah ever just send the foot soldiers to overpower the Tamagamis and take the Dragon Balls.

"You're not supposed to do that. They say that when Goku's fighting Tamagami 3."

Sure, you're not. But what's going to stop them if they do? If the Gendarmerie or whatever are powerful enough to overwhelm and slaughter the Tamagamis with ease then who cares about following the Tamagamis' rules?

"The Tamagamis would probably activate their super form or something as a failsafe and obliterate them if they broke the rules. Or something. I don't know."

But then we're back to 'What's stopping Neva from just putting an end to these tyrants himself, if he cares so much about it?' One way or another, one side of this should have wasted the other a long time ago. It's weird that they've just sat there giving each other bitter side-eyes for like millennia.

"Well, you know, it's the principle of the thing."

What?

"It's not about what Neva can do. It's about what Neva would do. Neva says himself that Namekian powers shouldn't be used for conflict. It's a funny moment where Piccolo has to feel shame for being a Warrior-Type Namekian, something whose very existence is a violation of Namekian values."

Oh, yeah, he did say that.

"Yep."

Didn't he then commit Tamagami 1 to the battle against Gomah?

"...maybe sending the Tamagamis to fight someone outside the limits of the Dragon Ball challenge doesn't count as using his powers for conflict, as long as he doesn't super-charge them?"

Did he not super-charge Tamagami 1 in that fight? I thought he did.

"...I don't think so? I think he just winked at it for a weirdly long time. I do not remember."

That's okay, it doesn't matter anyway. He wouldn't need to super-charge the Tamagamis to assassinate Dabra or Gomah with them anyway. Nobody knows that's a thing he can do, and nonetheless we are told that even Dabra is no match for the Tamagamis.

"So if it is fine to make the Tamagamis vanquish his enemies so long as he doesn't super-charge them...."

Then we're back to square one. And if he did super-charge Tamagami 1 then I guess he was just lying when he said he's against using Namekian powers for conflict. I don't know what this man's principles actually are. He plays a lot of things close to chest and only reveals information on a need-to-know basis but he also has no ulterior motives and is being entirely sincere with the protagonists.

"Did we get Mystery Boxed by Neva?"

Kind of, yeah. Neva is not a mystery; He just likes being mysterious in order to make it seem like there's more going on with this character then there actually is.

"Hrm."

I just don't know how you square this circle of Neva being the unparalleled supreme power in Daimakai but also a powerless manipulator having to play 4-D chess to recruit outside aid. I don't even think he's a Mystery Box per se? I think he might just be a plot device in the shape of a character, and we all just... expected something more to come out of it.

Yuno stared at her with a serious expression.

“ You’re right, I can do this by myself. But that doesn’t mean I want to.”

Neva blinked at him in surprise for a moment before he felt her slip her hand out of his, and he watched her slowly move away.

“ You don’t have a choice, Yuno.”

for some backstory: when i was in highschool i had this major crush on a guy in my year, it started in year 8 and literally lasted up until recently (yes…. i did still have a crush on him after dropping out at the start of year 10 and not seeing him for like a year and a half… 💔) and at the time i was in this trio with my current best friend & this other girl that was a manipulative b word whom we cut off pretty much a year ago. in this rant i’m gonna refer to her as my ex bff even tho me & my current bff kinda didn’t like her even when we were friends w her because she was so mean to us all the time lmao?? 😭

ok now that’s cleared up lemme tell you what’s happening rn

so like i said i’ve really been into this guy since we were like like 12 or 13, but i never hit it off with him because he was way wayyy more popular than i ever was and i didn’t wanna embarrass myself (classic 😓) so i always had a secret crush on him even when he wasn’t in my classes. ONLY my 2 best friends that i mentioned knew and it was serious yall we used to swap classes so i could be in his class and one of them managed to find his timetable so that i could “casually” bump into him in the hallways (I KNOW WHAT YOURE THINKING “mia that’s psychotic” but pls i was 13 and in love i didn’t know any better LMAOOAOOA), this shit was real as hell and at one point i genuinely convinced myself that if i wore mascara to school he’d fall to his knees and start singing to me like in the movie ‘10 things i hate about you’ (a 13 year old’s dream!), i even looped subliminals over night for weeks on end, I WAS SO SERIOUS ABOUT HIM (i still can’t hear careless whisper without thinking of that subliminal… half of those views were from me ffs 😭). but obviously as per usual, nothing happened. infact the most interesting part of my sort of parasocial relationship with him, was him literally asking for one of my tictacs at lunch one time. i kept that box of tictacs and theyre still in my memory box (can you blame me?). BUT now onto the actual problem here, see my ex bff had a thing for gingers (yes he was a ginger…) but reassured me every single day that she thought he was ugly and would neva steal my man. and well yes she kept that promise for like 2 years but. you guessed it. they’re a thing! my best friend & one of our other friends called me in a panic to tell me, i think they were expecting a worse reaction but i’m honestly over him i literally haven’t seen him in the flesh since 2023. it’s just that i can’t believe it took my ex bff this long to do something in spite of me cutting her off last may 😭 like i’m not even hurt i’m just shocked because i didn’t think she had it in her to do the whole stereotypical “stealing my ex best friend’s crush of 3 years!” trope lmao??

rishima 781 : her kids and husbands, along with her best friend neva are all people that rishima would do anything to make sure that they are safe. if one or multiple of them were threatened by something life-taking. she would immediately jump to either self-sacrifice or find another way to get them out with her. no matter the people she has to step on or hurt, as long as they are safe.

vespasiano 781 : his kids. he would do just about anything to keep them safe - some downright unspeakable things if it meant that they were protected. his brothers and his mothers as well - they mean the world to him and he’d do anything to keep them safe. as for his ( ex ) wife. . . well, she falls under the bracket too. as much as it hurts.

﹙ 💔. ﹚who has your character hurt most? physically or emotionally? how did it feel? do they regret it?

rishen 9819 : who he has hurt the most is not a person per se, but his scythe. for those that are not aware, grim reapers’ scythes are sentient and meant to have a special bod with their wielder. because of rishen’s detest towards his heritage, he flat out ignores his scythe, the scarlet strike. if the scythe has been persistent, he has said some rather hurtful things. he does not really realise that he is hurting it - but when he does, he does feel bad. he pushes this down for the most part, however. the scarlet strike continuously attempts conversation with him — he simply ignores.

javier 781 : who javier has hurt the most is his son, emotionally. something he deeply regrets when he realises just how bad it is. their communication is extremely strained, and they don’t talk much, as rishen strays away from communication so that javier doesn’t say anything he doesn’t want to hear. sometimes he doesn’t realise he is hurting rishen. though he never has the intention to hurt his son’s feelings. there is a part of him that tries to make up for everything he has said and done — yet, another part is so unsure of what to say or do that when he tries to talk to rishen, he ends up getting agitated as words seem to build in his mouth but never get out.

alessio 781 : someone that surprises him, and someone that is compassionate and has patience; can put him in his place. attracted to those who are knowledgeable, free-spirited. most are found in rishen.

rishen 781 : INTELLIGENCE. people with good memory. rule breakers. creatives, innovators, someone that believes in him - no matter what it takes. someone who is loyal and reciprocates it. both tal and alessio have some of these tropes.

talisen 781 : likes having someone that is hopeful, but also likes someone who is realistic, he is very attracted to creativity, in any of the wide parts of the spectrum of it, he is attracted to wit, he is attracted to those who are not afraid to break the rules, is very attracted to intelligence, he is attracted to people that are poetry, is very attracted to people who can hold eye contact during serious heart to hearts, is secretly a moronsexual. rishen has some of these tropes . . .

talisen 781 : as a kid, he saw something extremely scary that scarred him for life. watching as something ate something it shouldn’t, hunched over in a corner of the estate, close to his bedroom. it had lunged out at him. . . he doesn’t remember much else though

﹙ 🍓. ﹚does your oc believe in anything? are they superstitious? religious? atheistic? has anything in their past made them this way?

alessio 781 : he does not have any beliefs anymore and is considered an atheist. as a kid he believed in the enigma god - vephine, but he does not any longer. because of his mother’s mixing pot of religions, alessio was taught about a lot of superstitions from a young age. one of the main things he was taught was - if you hear it, no you don’t. if you see it, no you don’t. which he has taken very literally. if alessio thinks that a paranormal being is in his presence, he will completely ignore it and act as though they are not there. ( he’s concerningly good at this too ) which can lead to quite the funny scenes when demons try talking to him.

rishen 781 : for the most part, rishen does not have any beliefs and is considered atheist as well. however he has some faith in a lot of the hindu gods. particularly lakshmi, krishna and kali. this is never shown too much however. the only superstition that he carries with him are also from hindu traditions - such as striking a match if you enter your house late at night to ward off evil spirits. for a time he also believed in the - ‘tie your long hair after midnight’, but no longer believes in this.

talisen 781 : he is extremely athiest. once he believed in the gods, but as time went by it faded the more he spent with mortals. for a reaper, who know of the gods and their existence, he chooses to ignore them. while doing the job of reaping souls

rishen 1311 : he is athiest, she doesn’t believe in anything

orion : an angel as ancient as the eyes of the abyss has someone else, who is of his age with him most of the time most certainly. his husband and best friend, dakila. whom he has known for mellenia. whenever these two are around one another, you see their deep love for one another really bloom. both in a platonic and romantic sense. and they’ve many stories to tell, when they are together.

rishen 9819 : rishen’s best friend is also his boyfriend - jingyi. they knew each other from the young childhood ages and even grew up together when jingyi’s mother, meng yao, took rishen into the reaper sanctuary to train him in reaperhood. they have always been very close, they are both very similar yet also very different - so they compliment each other quite well. they both love each other’s mind and creativity

alessio 781 : he’s never really been one to have close friends like that. but one person he would consider his best friend is haoyu from verse 9948e. the two met when the 781 trio began visiting 9948e due to talisen’s relations with that zhao family. they have quite the similar humour and also bond over music ( and drugs )

vespasiano 781 : previously, vespasiano’s older brother was his best friend, though now, their relationship is strained. and it seems like there is not any going back. vespasiano keeps family close, and work friends. but none could ever reach the friendship his brother and he had.

orion : nowadays, most of his priced items are not on him. except for one of them. an amulet, one that, when opened, has the picture of his king and god rinfier ( his other husband ) and his best friend dakila ( husband! ) in it. carrying magic of his king in it to aid him back home so that he never gets lost within the darkness of the abyss. it is also important to know, of course, he carries this locket-like-amulet, because his husbands both asked of him to do so. worn beneath all of his armour.

Summary: You return home for Sarah's sixteenth birthday. Part 2 of - Should Probably Leave. Inspired by - Tanya Tucker's - I Bet She Knows.

It's been two years but here you were, back in Austin; your only reason for returning was that it was Sarah's sixteenth birthday. You really dreaded having to come back here after everything that happened with Joel but there was no chance in hell you were going to miss one of the biggest birthdays in that girl's life. Although things with her father and you had soured you still cared deeply for Sarah and was going to be there for her big day, come hell or high water.

You were genuinely excited to see Sarah again, the only contact with her having been over the phone. What damped it was having to see Joel with her. Tess, the woman that he had been seeing for the past year or so, according to your mother.

To say you were dumbstruck by the news would be putting it lightly, you were completely shattered by it. Here you were, still trying to mend the pieces of your broken heart, yet Joel hadn't taken that long to move on after you left; something that he had pushed you to do.

The Miller house was already booming with activity by the time you arrived; not wanting to risk bumping into Joel so soon into the event, you had sent your parents ahead and decide to go a bit late. Easily sneaking in through the sea of people gathered in the backyard, you head straight for the alcoholic beverages; if you planned to survive this event, you'll need all the liquid courage you could get.

"Knew that back profile looked familiar..." a male voice drawls out behind you.

Shaking your head with small chuckle, you turn around smirking, "hey there baby Miller."

Tommy audibly scoffs, pressing a hand to his chest in pretend offense, "baby Miller...? Ya wound me, Sweetheart. Ain't been a baby in a long-ass time."

"Can see so" you chuckle, scanning him head to toe, "how ya been, Tommy?"

"Nuh-uh... that ain't how we greet" Tommy shakes his head in displeasure, spreading his arms then. Audibly snorting, you step into his open arms for a hug.

"Much better..." Tommy groans, hugging you tightly. "Life's been good" he states, letting you go.

"Still playing at being the charming Lady's Man?" you smirk at him.

"Actually... in a stable relationship" Tommy shyly responds, scratching the back of his head.

"No, shit?!" you mouth drops in bemusement, "neva thought the day would come that Tommy Miller would settle down..."

"Just had to meet the right woman" Tommy shyly shrugs.

"So, what's this wonderful woman's name?" you smirk at him.

"Maria" Tommy replies proudly, scanning the sea of people, "should be round here somewhere..."

"Sure I'll meet her later" you remark, not wanting him to fuss too much over it.

"Joel and Sarah know ya here?" Tommy remarks then, causing to internally flinch at the thought of having to face him.

"Just arrived, but I'll catch up with 'em."

Tommy's face turns to a serious look then, "they missed ya. Both of 'em."

"I missed Sarah terribly too" you respond, making sure not to touch the topic of Joel.

Tommy frowns at your words, or lack thereof, "he really has missed ya."

"Tommy" you sigh out, "let's not go there."

"But-" Tommy attempt to argue but you cut him off.

"He's with someone now and that ship sailed two years ago."

Tommy opens his mouth to say something but is interrupted by someone calling his name out. Head dropping in defeat, he lets out a heavy sigh, leaving you with four last words; "just talk with him."

After Tommy left you to your own devices, you managed to find an inconspicuous spot; planning on hiding out of sight as best as possible. You were three drinks in, enjoying the serenity in the little spot you were seated until it happened; a laugh, the deep raspy laugh of Joel's that you once loved to hear yet now was in utter agony by it. Your sense of equanimity was soon shattered when the woman laughs at something Joel says, tilting her head upward to press a kiss to his lips. So that's her? That's Tess...

Well, that's enough party for you... Sarah would forgive you if you sent her text message, that you had fallen ill before finding her and you could always give her gift the next day.

With that thought in mind, you got up to leave but your plans were instantly foiled by a loud excited shrieking of your name.

"Y/N! You came!" an adrenalized Sarah flings herself into your open arms.

"I will, I will..." you chuckle, attempting to calm her down a bit, "we can go out shoppin' an chat 'bout everythin' over coffee."

"Deal" Sarah grins in excitement, suddenly bring up a dreaded topic. "You seen Dad yet? He'd be so happy to see you. I'm sure he's somewhere around here..."

"He's probably busy..." you attempt to steer away from it as Sarah scans the crowd.

"There he is!" Sarah calls out and against your better judgement; you turn toward the direction she had pointed out, only to find that Joel was staring at you the entire after hearing Sarah yelling out your name.

As two of stood silently staring at each other, you felt yourself being transported by to that night two years ago.

The minute Joel and you reached the bedroom, both your clothes went flying in a frenzy to get one another naked.

"Jesus, ya gorgeous..." Joel groans out in appreciation at your naked form.

"Joel..." you blush at his words, turning to a more serious tone then, "what I tell ya about talking?"

"That I do it too much an should be doin' somethin' else..." Joel snickers, wrapping his arms around you.

"Exactly so-" your words get cut off by Joel pushing backwards onto the bed, laying his naked body over your own.

"This ya way of tellin' me to shut up?" you giggle.

"Workin' ain't it..." Joel smirk, tipping down to capture your lips in a deep kiss. You let out a soft whimper when his when slowly moves down your body to cup eventually cup your mound.

"Jesus, ya soak..." Joel groans in approval.

"Stop teasing, Joel..." you whine out in frustration.

"Hold ya horses, Sweetheart..." Joel snickers in warning, fingers gently probing at your entrance, "need to get ya ready first."

"Oh, no" Sarah looks to you in concern, "what's wrong?"

"Nothin' major, just bit of jetlag I reckon" you wave her concern off, feeling a bit guilty at lying to her. "Think I'mma just head on home."

"Ok, you do that" Sarah nods in understanding, "I'll tell Dad, you said hi."

"Thanks, Hun" you smile, pulling her in for a hug, "enjoy the party an I'll speak to ya soon."

"Love you" Sarah plants a kiss to your cheek.

"Love ya too, Lovebug" you plant one onto her forehead in return.

 "Who was that?" Tess asks, pulling Joel's attention away from your retreating form.

"Huh?" Joel brows furrows in confusion.

"The woman that was with Sarah, who is she?" Tess nods her head in the direction you had been.

"Oh, no one... just a friend of Sarah's" Joel splutters out with a headshake.

"You sure...?" Tess arches a brow at him, "cause, the two of you were staring at each other weirdly for quite some time."

"Yea, she lives in the neighbourhood" Joel attempts to shrug the topic off, "just ain't seen her in a while."

Tess's gaze narrows for a split second, suddenly smiling she turns back to Bill and Frank, "where were we?"

While the three of them continue talking, Joel finds his attention slipping back to the direction you left in. Heading dropping with a low sigh, shaking himself back to attention; he returns to conversation.

DAIMA EP 15 (SPOILERS) REVIEW/theories

• While I was certainly feeling the tension this episode set out to make me feel, the "just transform already!" fatigue has also set in. Also, probably too much time spent ducking for cover.

• This new Demon girl that traded her hat for THE TERTIAN OCULUS(who had great eyeshadow/lipstick & even her own theme) better get name dropped. Same goes for that buff red haired demon lady from Kadan's castle. She immediately shot up in attractiveness when she spoke in this episode.

• Also, did anyone else assume, for just a moment, that the new demon girl was actually Degesu who shape shifted? I sure did, until I remember Degesu's skin isn't blue.

• It was pretty funny seeing that demon kid from the opuru district point at Goku, the "kid with round ears" to their mom while there's a WAR going on outside their house. Priorities.

• Really feels like Dr Arinsu got away with getting the D ball with no consequence. Just how much can her silver tongue do for her?She even still insists that "Everything is going according to plan". Really now?

• Weird that we didn't hear anyone talking or screaming in their planes & tanks. Just KABOOM, & it's done.

• The way they casually showed off the Evil Third Eye's concept art was crazy.

• So the Evil Third Eye specifically grant otherworldly power via pure magic power, which is then interpreted by all demons as a sign of absolute authority. A guy like King Gohma, who so far has had his magic power hyped up over & over, better be an actual threat that'll at least encourage a new protagonist fusion.

• Would've been nice if they mentioned that King Gohma was the former "vice-Supreme King" as soon as episode 1.

• I said this several reviews ago, but thank goodness Dabura isn't being repainted/retconned into being "not so bad". Brother straight up ruined his father's career for the throne. Also, RIP bug bozo.

• I hope they release official drawings of those former Supreme Kings we saw in shadow. Their designs/silhouettes looked cool.

• The Supreme King castle guards sure wore goofy looking outfits back in the day.

• Degesu, buddy, drop the act already!

• The revive bug scene with Vegeta felt like a waste of a revive bug. AND STILL no memorable Piccolo fight. Like??

• Of course Neva's not helping, because that would be "using his powers for conflict".

• Gotta admit, the scene where King Kadan's plane got blown up made my jaw drop a little. The way the music cut off. Crazy.

• Based on beam colors, it looks like King Kadan's force might be using magilite as an energy source for their weapons, where, maybe, MAYBE, the Gendarmerie weapons are powered by life energy they've drained from citizens, which would explain why said weapons can fire up to 10 days. Will it be explained at any point? Probably not.

• First cliffhanger I didn't super like. Never thought I'd get negative about this series. Maybe the reviewers are getting to me...

• Degesu! Buddy! I know your Supreme King is about to get his comeuppance, BUT IT AIN'T THAT SERIOUS!

HERE HAVE SOME MORE GOV-ANGST CHILDREN TAKE IT AND RUN BEFORE GUESS KILLS ME- (/j)

PA walked into the Main Floor Kitchen where he saw Gov standing and making coffee. The younger seemed to be frantically sending texts to multiple different people, and the Keystone State tried to ignore how tired and exhausted and just- done. Gov looked. It hurt to see his son like this, but PA wouldn’t admit it.

He walked over to the cupboard to grab a cup, and he noticed that Gov, who was right next to him, flinched when he raised his arm up to grab a cup. Huh. Weird.

"Gov? Ya good dumbass?" PA asked with a slight snort. He looked to Gov when the younger didn’t give an answer. Gov seemed to be zoned out, look at the kitchen counter if all places. He roughly poked the taller in the ribs, trying to gain his attention. Which he did, but Gov flinched and gave a small yelp. PA gained a more serious (CONCERNED-) look on his face and started prodding around random areas of Gov’s torso, seeing if maybe he was hurt.

"Eep!- Pa- - I mean- P-Pennsylvania stop!!-" Gov squeaked out, trying to get away from his father’s hands.

"Shut up and tell me where yer hurt!!!" PA shouted, grabbing Gov’s shoulders. He tried to ignore the terrified look in the younger’s eyes when he raised his voice.

"I-I’m n-not hurt! I just thought that-….” Gov cut himself and trailed off, which only made PA more annoyed.

"Well?? Spit it the f*ck out!!" PA shouted again, not realizing that his anger and shouting was scaring the taller personification, who had backed into a corner. PA simply followed Gov into said corner, awaiting the younger’s answer.

Gov teared up a little and flinched again, putting his arms up a little as if to protect himself. "I-I thought y-you were g-gonna hit me…..”

PA’s face instantly softened a bit, and he gave Gov a confused/annoyed look, "Why the hell would I bother with hurtin’ you?? Are ya stupid or some sh*t?"

Gov at this point looked like the equivalent to a small frazzled kitten as he responded:

"Y-yes- w-well no I just thought- I uh….. i don’t know I don’t know…-" Damn. His breathing sure sped up a lot.

"Hey hey hey….. shhhh….. breathe okay? Can yer dumbass do that?” PA said, gently (or at least as gentle as he could-) guiding Gov into a sitting position on the kitchen floor. Sh*t- what next- PA didn’t necessarily know what to do here. So he just opted to gently rub Gov’s back and try to get his son to do some breathing exercises to calm down. That sorta worked, but Gov was still panicking and crying a bit. PA sighed and pulled the taller man into his lap (dw PA ain’t that tiny. He’s 5’8 and Gov is 6’1-) and hugged him close, laying the younger’s head on his chest.

Gov eventually calmed down, and only a few tears were rolling down his face as he was held and hugged by the man he called his father. He sat there curled up and closed his eyes as he listened to PA’s heartbeat, which aided in calming him.

"Kid? Ya good now?" Asked PA, who was trying to make his voice calmer and quieter.

"I-I think s-s-so…..” Gov squeaked when he felt a gentle hand rubbing his arm in a soothing manner.

"Okay….. Good enough to answer more questions?"

"Yeah….."

PA moved his hand up to gently run his fingers through Gov’s hair, a tactic he always used with Massachusetts (YES I SHIP THEM LEAVE ME BE 😭) to calm him down on a rough day. "Alright….. Why the f*ck didja think that I was gonna hit ya?"

Gov was silent for a few seconds, but he answered: "I-I dunno….. you always act like yer gonna….. and you were mad and yelling I just t-thought t-that y-y’know-“

"Hush…. Yer gettin’ worked up again moron." PA said, giving a small not-very-well-hidden chuckle. "As for the…..hittin’ ya thing….. I know, I know I act like I’m gonna hit ya…. But ya know that I would neva’ actually hit ya right?"

"…."

"Gov, yer my kid. I would neva’ physically hurt you unless it was absolutely necessary. Like- if ya were attackin’ someone. Which- you wouldn’t do. So ya don’t need to worry about me hurtin’ ya. Ya got that?" PA asked, switching to gently scratching Gov’s scalp. He smiled a tiny bit when he heard and felt Gov’s little purrs of bliss.

"Mhm…." Gov sounded rather unsure of his answer, and PA could tell.

"Gov?"

"Hm?"

"Do ya actually get it?"

"…..*sigh* yeah…."

"Okay. Good. Glad I got that through that thick skull o’ yours." PA said. He gently nuzzles the top of Gov’s hair, and he continued to hold him until Gov fell asleep. Good.
