thinking about james teaching regulus how to swim after the cave

reg is terrified and won't top clinging to him and james doesn't mind, he's perfectly patient, taking regulus out to swim in the river by effie and monty's every single day that the water's warm enough and then to the local muggle pool to teach him

eventually regulus gets to be a pretty strong swimmer and actually enjoys swimming, but sometimes he still panics and james ends up pulling reg around with him again

sometimes regulus just holds onto james and james will be jumping around and swimming fast just to make reg laugh

and then after they dry off james wraps him in a fluffy blanket and tells him how well he did (even if he got water in his nose and ended up panicking and almost drowning james)

happy fourth of july does anyone else think about how messed up it was that R*wling chose for Fred to die in front of Percy of all people. Who just broke free from the Ministry and who has returned to mend his relationship with his family and help tight for peace. Who finally gets to see the people he loves again, who he would jump into the Great Lake for, who he’d completely destroyed his relationship with because he valued their opinions so much, only for his little brother to die mid-sentence. And that sentence was about how Fred remembers an old, happy version of him and how that version might be poking through, as if he’s relieved, like he’s been waiting for his big brother to finally crack a joke, and just as his comes to the surface he’s gone. Percy got that glimpse of a close relationship with Fred, who had always opposed him the most, who he got along with the least, and then shockingly lost it all right after. Him throwing himself over Fred’s body, trying to protect him until the very last moment. Not budging when Ron tried to DRAG him off. And how will that affect the rest of his life? Will he forever blame himself? Will he never crack a joke again? I’m SICKKKKK

Contrary to popular belief, Snape does know how to laugh (and it's quite a contagious sound) and her Slytherin friends aren't just a bunch of snobby, arrogant rich brats that only make fun of others. They all have a soft side that only comes out with each other and would leave a lot of people in shock.

I just saw someone post really cool fanart that they made of dorlily (which is dorcas and lily if you didn't know) and someone in the comments said "when did we start shipping dorcas and lily? I'm lost" and it made me really think about how this fandom, the marauders fandom spesifically, has this sort of hive mindset. It's like every opinion must be collective or favoured by a large majority. "when did WE start shipping" someone posted a fanart of a ship they like. it is not a WE matter. it is a them matter and has nothing to do with you, so what does that even mean. And I think this hive mentality really contributes to how toxic this fandom has become, why its so hard for people to accept headcanons without criticizing the creators for having those headcanons, why there's constant unnecessary ship wars. we all do not need to agree. we all do not need to have the same opinions in this fandom, in fact its making the situation worse. i am begging you all to start thinking about how to behave in fandom spaces.
