Once again on my Ras & Danny being training rivals thanks to time travel bullshit.

Look, Danny knows about the league of Assassins, but he almost dies of laughter when he realizes it’s the modern name of the league of Shadows. He’s an adult now, has been for a while, he’s allowed to find the situation he’s found himself in amusing. Hell, his sparring buddy who is somehow still alive is laughing too.

And no one else knows what’s going on, okay? This random man walked into their secret base, completely ignored the many assassins trying to stop him, and called their illustrious leader a “Little Bitch Man” and they are now fighting?

The fighting is familiar, but why the fuck is Ras cackling and saying things like “Ayreh Feek” back. Practically saying “Fuck you,” while laughing and oh Pit, they’re Bantering this is terrifying, why has Ras not won yet, why has this man not died yet and- bodies aren’t supposed to bend like that what the fuck-

Ras on the other hand, has One friend, who is immortal like him, actually remembers the shit he complains about, is also down for saving endangered animals, and actually knows how to spar! It’s not a proper spar unless someone loses at least a hand that has to be reattached! And honestly, people nowadays should know that the proper greeting to an old friend is to instantly try to kill the other.

I find it so funny when Christian people (or even ex Christian people) are astounded by my complete lack of knowledge around their religion. like I know some of the stories that they tell children in Sunday school, I know a few key things about catholics, that's about it. people are so confused when I tell them I've literally never read a single page of the bible

#think they're confused because i don't ''look'' like I'm apart of a another religion #and most atheists in the U.S. have had Christianity pushed onto them at some point in their life #either they grew up at a Christian church #or they had Christian family members #and like. i do. but my grandparents don't go to church anymore and they haven't for over a decade #not to mention neither of my grandparents are particularly attached to Christianity anymore especially not my grandpa #i was never bought a bible when i was younger #and i never went to any sort of Christian church

#Greta & Valdin #aroaessidhe 2024 reads #oh this is great. also so weird/familiar reading about people in nz especially cities i am familiar with #I enjoyed the quirky writing style and I really loved the central sibling relationship!#The plot is just kinda a lot of hanging out with various people and then having deep conversations with them. and repeat #(but also nothing ever getting SUPER in depth)#(often about things that they’ve somehow never talked about in the decades of being a family despite the amount of yapping they do?)#but not a criticism really that's kinda the point of the book i guess lol! I think it worked for the most part #It is quite unstructured which I didn’t mind for the most part but the end was a bit random?#there’s suddenly short chapters from other character’s POVs which was a bit whiplashy #especially being in first person (by the time I felt used to the new character’s voice the 3 page chapter would be over)#Also maybe I’m dumb and missed something but what was going on with their mum’s possible affair?#like they were talking about it at the end but… i was confused if there was any conclusion drawn there. lol #there’s a review that’s like i hated this and all the product placement why do we need to know you got kapiti ice cream & went to [x] gelat #i just need you to know that we are like that about ice cream. they all have different vibes & giving that detail is just like...flavour #anyway yeah i thought it was good overall!#wlw books #mlm books

#megan whines into the empty abyss of cyberspace #adventures in L Space #the inevitable teething problems with tiny (or not so tiny) libraries #or any municipal organizations really #you can play it loosey goosey when the community is very small (you shouldn't but you can more or less get away with it)#but as communities grow you have to establish actual rules beyond just vibes and personal judgment calls #you have to have clear and fair procedures in place and you have to hold the people contributing to the same standards #and in the case of libraries you can't have desk volunteers who treat the work as a hobby and like their personal visiting hours #and if they can't *do* the work it shouldn't be staff's job to babysit them because no one wants to hurt someone's feelings #by asking them to leave #we gotta go ten rounds on a circ change that will make staff and patrons' lives easier because it might confuse the volunteers #and volunteers are not held to equitable professional standards w/r/t to shit like basic computer literacy #and then people have the audacity to talk shit about abq's 'bureaucracy'#whevs it is still better than the abq trainwreck but also I'm allowed to shit talk them bc I lived thru it for most of a decade #you don't get shit talking rights in the state's most isolated rich fake rural enclave

You..you folks know that hating/not understanding small talk is a super common thing for autistic people to experience, right?

#seen a lot of posts berating people who don't like small talk and it's a little uncomfy #like talking about how it makes them actually angry hearing ppl say they don't like small talk #or saying just learn how to do it better!#some people can't learn #it's actually massively difficult and highly confusing #the layers of nuance that go into the process of getting to know people slowly or having small interactions with others is mind boggling #like just responding to how's it going? is a complicated thing to figure out #and to a lot of autistic folks these things genuinely feel like weird incomprehensible mind games rather than genuine interactions #because they're situations that involve a lot of what feels like dishonesty and hiding for mysterious reasons #but whatever i guess our souls will just always be small if we can't figure out how to mask hard enough to stop pissing you off 🙃#i'm understanding small talk a lot better now but for the first two and a half decades of my life it was a frustrating struggle #yeah there's a lot of jokes about how shitty and stupid small talk is which probably doesn't feel the greatest to ppl who like it #but i'm willing to bet a good portion of that is coming from a place of frustration and isolation #from people who have difficulties understanding a key piece of how most people build friendships

HEHE WELL honestly the way i thought of it was kind of just kandreil being a thing throughout college/kevins last year but after his graduation he kind of goes m.i.a, in my heart i think about kevin moving out of the states to play exy a lot and i think itd actually be relevant and even important to him to be able to see the world beyond the nest......... but it also means things like different timezones, new people and new languages, an entire new life really that andreil of course do not agree with... i dont think they necessarily part on bad terms but andrew and neil very much dont want him to move away. in the end kevin (midnight rain plays softly in the background) wants the world in more ways than just a small apartment somewhere in denver and two cats you know....

so the fic would be really kevins return to the us a decade later, having broken off things with andreil but still loving them dearly....... right person wrong time kind of thing really.... and then theres andreil who never really stopped waiting for kevin, never stopped thinking about him, but accepted (after a lot of therapy mind you) that theres nothing you can Do when someone wants to/has to leave. i dont think thered even be a need to Rebuild their relationship per se because its always been there!!! andreil still have his stupid books in their apartment and kevins old jackets in their closet... i think theyd even come to pick him up at the airport totally uninvited too... BASICALLY JUST. ahhh you know... getting older and different but still yourself, being waited for when you thought your absence meant nothing, that kind of thing.... would kevin have stayed if he knew how much his absence would hurt them? would they have been as adamant about him staying if they had the insight of older men who know kevins ambitions are just as important as their own?

#also once again say it with me… pokemon has sucked for a decade #for one #and for two #Pokémon has always been a shoddily made poorly coded mess #I don’t particularly excuse gen 1 for anything either when the us carts were twice the size of the Japan red and green carts 🤔#GS were four times the size of the red green carts 🤔 and they still had to get Iwata to bail them out #btw people are so confused about what iwata actually did #gen 3 is legitimately pretty goddamn ugly compared to many other gba games.. golden sun and minish cap in particular #gen 4 … rip. diamond pearl sucks platinum is fun and hgss well we know how I feel on that one #gen 5 is probably the closest they ever got to ever making a stellar game #and people fucking despised it when it came out #B2W2 weren’t the worst selling games for no reason #people swear up and down g5 is the pinnacle of the series now but then?#people hated the new mons they hated the linear map they hated the story they hated no old mons in the main campaign etc etc #never mind the fact that B2W2 ‘fixes’ this stuff … not that it needed to be fixed imo #plus if you’re looking for a new game in a different series. you’d be starting with all new mons ANYWAY #xy were garbage oras were garbage etc etc #the only truly interesting Pokémon games are the spin-offs #but at this point I’m sick of people championing explorers because they’re Not that good #the story is fine except for the fact you’re surrounded by the most annoying cast imaginable #I really hate the guild. so much:#anyway mystery dungeon is fine except it’s an isekai #PLA is garbage btw don’t even bring that one up #xd and colosseum are so good but they’re not for everyone..
