Sorry to keep this topic going but do you regard Raine's possession by Belos in the same light as Hunter's? Hunter's definitely has a more congruent through-line with his connection to Belos as far as Themes, but there's definitely the same sort of vibes of control in Raine's arc (Terra being a borderline creep keeping them under her thumb when it was thought they were brainwashed)

Yes actually! I think Raine is also a victim of sa and I have a lot of ideas about Raine and Hunter together as a parent/kid dynamic and how they’d be able to relate to each others experiences and grow from that… I just haven’t drawn any of it lol. There’s a reason why I put “Whispers” as a last name in my long ass full name tag for Hunter!

I'm replaying the Alpha on patreon (of course) and I just made a mental connection. Between a Romanus who keeps a journal in Latin, and a little child meeting a certain monk, touching a book for the first time and realizing how wonderful preserving knowledge is. I wonder if Romanus thinks of them when they preserve their own knowledge in their journal. (your story is so beautiful, I always find new joy in it)

Absolutely. I couldn't put that detail in Book One, because the player hasn't chosen their origins yet, but when Romanus sits down to write in their journal again, and if you're on the Scribe Origin, they'll think of Adso. He's never too far away from their mind ♡

The thing I absolutely adore about Sanemi and how he's written is that unless you listen to what other characters say about him and read the little tidbits about him behind the scenes, he does come off as the biggest asshole. We don't see a lot of him being a caring person in the surface story, but there's things and details about him on the side that all point to him being a softer person. Even in his most vicious moments (like the recent ep with Genya) there are reasons for some of the violent things he does.

He attacks Genya not just out of anger, but it also comes off as him low-key wanting to keep his brother safe. He knows Genya doesn't have a breathing style and points out that it makes Genya weaker. His follow-through, on surface level, is indeed harsh because of Genyas confession. But when you look into more about him you can absolutely see that it could be for other reasons. Genya wasn't going to listen to him, so he took extreme measures to "save" his little brother. Is it uncouth? Yes! But it would have been effective.

Sanemi is a complex character who doesn't need a lot of things spelled out because the events that will occur tell more about him than upfront words will. I've been spoiled to a few things already and that's probably why I love the Shinazugawa brothers as much as I do. Both are very well written and I have to applaud the author once again for making another pair of dynamic siblings that I have come to love deeply.

sick to my stomach the more i research ana mendieta. she was shaken to her core about the rape and murder of sarah ann ottens, a fellow student at her university, and expressed her own trauma and anguish about the event and the sexual violence against women in general in related art projects, and years down the line is taken from the world in a violent manner, likely from her husband's doing. and the cycle of disgust and disregard for a woman's life continued, furthering the abuse of the dead with some making racist proclamations about ana as if explanations to her demise. both women met horrific ends, both their deaths remaining unsolved, theres no words.
