Meet The Project: Desecrate

Today's @creators-club post is an introduction to what we're going to be focusing on this week, and to no one's surprise that's Desecrate!

I haven't done an Intro post update for Desecrate in a while (Here's the post I currently have), so why not do a new little meet the project for it?

This book heavily criticizes the Roman Catholic Church and deals with Catholic Guilt and Religious Trauma 

SUMMARY

What would you do if everything you knew about your faith was flipped on its head?

That's what Kit has been trying to find out. After dropping out of Seminary and giving up on his life's dream of being a priest, he has to piece together the shattered remains of his faith.

But what if those pieces fit together in ways they never have before? What if they reveal a secret that the church has been hiding for millennia? What will he do then?

Adonai's been held in captivity for longer than They can recall. They don't remember what the sun feels like on Their skin, what the wind feels like in Their hair. It's a shame, one of Their only regrets was not fighting back that day.

Christian "Kit" Michaels (he/him) - the main character who’s POV we get. Just your everyday guy. Is a Classics student after dropping out of Seminary, does the church thing, lives his life to the best of his ability. Prone to some weird ass dreams

Adonai (he/they) - the subject of Kit’s dreams. They’re… not having a good time at the moment. Or really just ever.

Father Isaac (he/him) - A Priest of the Diocese that Kit goes to. One of the first people Kit goes to after his dreams start. A great confidant, even if he is bound by his faith.

Sister Benedictine (she/her) - Who doesn’t love a nun?? Some of the best people imo. Benny is one of the first people Kit goes to and is ride or die for her pathetic man (they are queer platonic partners, after all)

Hello Everyone, It's been awhile. Hasn't it?

I'm just going to jump right into it and say I've been dealing with a lot of lemons' life has been throwing at me, as well as dealing with some physical & mental health issues.

Ones that made me lose motivation for upkeeping and posting to this blog. Or even abandoning it altogether.

Though, Additionally, another reason was my main motivation for making and running this blog in the first place;

My Rewrite

I wanted to eventually reveal my rewrite on this blog. However, I've been second guessing, doubting, and making impulsive back & forth decisions on what I'm going to be doing with my rewrite.

Like, for example; to keep it a rewrite, or make it an original story?

And I've been really stubborn about making it an original story- due to several reasons -my main reason being; HOW do I make it an original story?

That's a tough question to answer. But a tough question that I painstakingly managed to answer! Unfortunately, though… despite getting the story to both work, being separated enough from aphmau while retaining much of the essence of my previous rewrite that i wanted to keep, and explore-

I still lost some of the things that I didn't want to lose. An aspect that I really liked about my version of Aphmau's story (and again), I wanted to explore. An aspect that I imagine is (at least part of) the core of my rewrite.

But in order for the rewrite to be an original story, I couldn't keep it… and Unfortunately for me; I am very attached to that core. And I don't know how to let it go.

Therefore meaning…

THAT'S RIGHT, SHUCKERS, YOU'RE STUCK WITH ME!

However, my rewrite will be receiving a huge update. And with this update also comes with me no longer calling it a rewrite;

But rather an Overhaul/Reimagining of MID. Due to me seeing this was a more accurate way of addressing my version of Aphmau's story due to the changes I've made and will be making to it.

This will be my final-FINAL decision on my MID project. And I hope you guys will be okay and even enjoy what I've done with the story.
