some thoughts about wan and his sister, and his relationship towards khem based on that trauma

this might sound very morbid, but i wonder if part of what further drove wan to his eventual breakdown was seeing his (only) friend be used and assaulted in a similar way his sister was? because the first panic attack/episode that we see wan experience happens when khem is being sexually exploited in the room right next to him.

i don't know if it was intentional or not, but i just think it must have been awful, to know that his friend is being used in such a similar way, to be directly in the other room from where it's happening but not being able to do anything because you've been taught that that's just how the world works and you can't intervene, because intervening will only make it worse for you both. i wonder if it might have contributed to his hatred and need for revenge, that it filled his head with conviction that certain groups of people were just bad and evil and were always gonna be, until he became convinced everyone had to die.

i do think the cigarettes had something to do with it (opium? maybe?) because it seemed to trigger his panic attacks when he smoked, but there was always something else too that set it off (blood, firework, screaming), and maybe it was the thought that after the man was done, he could walk in and find khem like he found his sister, and that makes me so so sad that he never found peace to the moment he died (by his friend's own hand).

As a trans guy who does want to have kids by way of pregnancy in the future, thank you for being normal about the idea. It's bothered me for years how the fandom gets all up-in-arms about somebody daring to portray a trans character getting pregnant (or getting someone pregnant). We're not a monolith and some of us do actually want to do that at some point, and there's nothing wrong/gross/bad about that. It's just a normal life event that some people experience!!!

Hello Stray community! After two months of work, I'm excited to bring your attention to this video!

Someone by the name of "Балвд лыжыэфэф" on YouTube extracted over six hours of music and ambience from Stray's game files. This is an amazing resource, full of extended tracks, ambience, and cut content.

What it lacked, however, were time-stamps. The description included a list of all the audio files that were extracted, but nothing to indicate when a track ended or began, nor where it played in-game.

So, I did all that! Almost every track in this video is now time-stamped, with listings that show where everything plays in-game. I made a comment that listed everything as it appears in the video, and one that lists everything as it appears in-game. I also made a list of some motifs. I couldn't help myself.

This was a lot of work, and I'm so thrilled to share it with you all. If you're looking for a song that was never or only partially included in the OST, you'll find it here! And if you find any mistakes, please let me know! Enjoy!

like on one hand biden did heinous stuff during his presidency and i have no personal liking for the guy, but on the other hand part of me does feel sympathetic bc it must suck to have to end your presidency in such a lacklustre way after having literally everyone demand you leave the race. on the third hand, there are presidents who would never have the grace and self-awareness to exit the race no matter how badly they were going to do or how many calls for it there were. on the fourth hand, biden's calls have directly contributed to the murder of thousands of people. on the fifth hand, he made some pretty significant progress domestically and improved the lives of thousands of americans.

idk man i have mixed feelings specifically on him pulling out. but hopeful that the candidate who gets the nom will be strong enough to pull those who were on the fence specifically about biden. and praying to anyone who will listen that this will get more people out to vote bc i'm seriously not joking about how much we do not want a second trump presidency.

you know i don't use amazon but something i often think about. several years ago my mom ordered me some books for my birthday on amazon and one of them i asked for was the oxford world's classics edition of the rover and other plays by aphra behn edited and with an introduction by jane spencer. it was supposedly new but when it got to me, the cover (paperback) was folded at an angle and the edges of the pages were dirty like they were left somewhere contaminated. and you see i don't mind like a not-pristine book at all; most of my books are used. but what the fuck was that.

I decided to clump all my Naberius/Sumeru as a whole art into one post for ease

also here's my fics version of Kusa lore below the cut , who I grant the demon name Stolas to differentiate them (also this is just a copy paste from twitter with a little editing/expansion here and there)

So as I mentioned in the fic, my inspiration for Sumeru was India, as having a mush of cultures with no rhyme or reason is a bad idea. So her outfit is inspired by the Shalwar Kameez, which is a traditional style of outfit that is notably a common school uniform for girls in India.

While I've ended up liking the direction they went with Buer (other then the obvious design issues), I went down a different path where Stolas is effectively trapped as teenager. She is the student who never grew up. Her teacher (Naberius) died and she has been incapable of letting it go, despite taking over his school.

Sumeru Academia is a failure, a den of ignorance, because of her. Because she is still that child trailing after Naberius looking for wisdom. The tassel on her head is like a graduation tassel, still on the right side not switched over to the left because she never graduated.

Also as I briefly mentioned in the fic, her ascension to archonhood was immediately following her battle with the Crimson Witch, where she tried to stop her friend from going full vengeance and it not going very great.

The horrible burn scars remain even after 500 years and all her attempts to hide them away and make them disappear. She is in denial of herself.

On a less serious note, she used to drive the Tsaritsa mad because how clingy she was to her husband, interrupting their dates and the like. It was made worse when she learned that she now stood in his place (whoops serious again)

She and Pre-CW!Rosalyne were weird friend/rivals for the top school spot. Kusanali being a bit of a hyperactive genius child while Rosie was like: please end me now Rostam come save me before I set fire to this place. Saying that, they were actually friends (Stolas also had a big old crush on Rosie, cause I find that hilarious and kind of sad cause she was so blindly in love with Rotsam Rosie had no idea)

And yeah that's all! This stuff really isn't really relevant to my fic but I had fun thinking of all this worldbuilding even if canon came in and destroyed it
