hi simblr, it's my birthday today! virgo supremacy! I decided to share one of my favorite recolors i've ever made (finally!!!). I sticker-ed up the City Living keyboard and added some other fun swatches. There is a functional version for use with the City Living EP, and a non functional deco version for both the floor and the wall! More info + download below the cut!

DETAILS:

This is a recolor of the keyboard that came with City Living, and the deco mesh separated by @pixlmonster. Unfortunately this means CL is required, I'm sorry! I was hoping the deco versions would work without CL but they do not. Mesh by pixlmonster is included.

There are 19 swatches. The first 6 are the more unique sticker-ed swatches, and some of my personal favorites. Swatches 7-11 are more patterned recolors, and the last 8 swatches are from @pictureamoebae's fluoro-pop collection. Sometimes you just need a neon pink keyboard, y'know?

I'll be super honest: It's been a year since I first initially started this project and I didn't do a great job recording where I got all of the stickers used. I apologize. Some of them were in game assets already, found via petaluhsims' sticker sheets. Some were found via google/freepik and some came from other places that I'm sure I'm forgetting. I made the parental advisory + seattle grunge stickers on the first swatch myself. Simlish fonts were found via franzillasims' font masterpost. Thanks so much to all of the original sticker/pattern creators, all credit goes to them. I just compiled a bunch of stuff together.

[Contemplating how to answer, I averted my gaze, so my cap covered my eyes. A lawyer, but then I'd have to tell her why. I wanted to open my heart to her: I didn't want to hide. She would learn about my family…today]

[We just talked about cooking after. We'd spent so much time in the kitchen together. I saw all her passion for it: the way her eyes lit up while talking about her grandma's special recipes, how her brows furrowed in concentration when picking ingredients. I fell in love with cooking and even more in love with her]

Vincent: What are your dreams for the future?

Nancy: A chef! I dream of opening a restaurant one day…somewhere that feels like home to everyone. A place with lots of happiness and chatter and where people are brought together through good food!

Thank you!!! I had to fill this out! :D But I’m also gonna go into detail for the reasons why certain characters are colored the way they are because I feel I need to explain why.

For Daffy, it’s yellow with a little bit a pink because Bella had a crush on him at first (mostly this is based on the fact that he was my FIRST fictional crush lol) and she eventually realized it was more of an admiration for him then anything.

The characters that are blue is mostly because they don’t have much in common with Bella and interacted with her a few times, but they don’t really hang out with each other.

Both Foghorn and Elmer are green and purple, but colored differently because technically both their dynamics with Bella is frenemies, but with Foghorn it’s more like siblings picking on each other while for Elmer it’s a friendly rivalry.

And Granny is orange because she’s just EVERYONE’S grandma at this point lol

I remember reading that Gandalf quote in the Unfinished Tales/The Quest of Erebor for the first time and feeling like “””“!!!!??!?!?!?????!!!!!!!!”””

And now I found that [Bilbo] was 'unattached' (…)I learned that he had never married. I thought that odd though I guessed why it was; and the reason that I guessed was not that most of the Hobbits gave me: that he had early been left very well off and his own master. No, I guessed that he wanted to remain 'unattached' for some reason deep down which he did not understand himself - or would not acknowledge, for it alarmed him.

A lot of the way Tolkien reframes Bilbo’s story in later works like LOTR and the Unfinished Tales are fascinating to me, but I love this line in particular. It’s the queer metaphor of it all— the pain of not understanding yourself but also being terrified of the introspection it would take to fully understand yourself, and so avoiding that introspection by attempting to repress it and put it off indefinitely…
