When I watch movies and interact with media I tend to find a way to shove my blorbos in there and imagine them in the movies/media. And Well. This is a very long way of saying that I watched Brokeback Mountain and it absolutely destroyed me in the normal, intended way of watching the movie and I am actively making it worse by imagining Jack and Ennis as Jack and Ianto.

The only plus is that I get to draw Ianto in cowboy hats.

- the quick dart to intercept Whumper’s hand as they try to backhand Whumpee. “mmmff—” a crack.

- “what are you doing?” Blood dripping to the floor, falling to one knee

- that dark glint in their eyes that either says “don’t fucking touch them” or “no one hurts them except me”

- catching Whumper’s hand as it falls and twisting with a white knuckled grip. Think twice.

- a grunt of pain, a gasp of real fear that’s swallowed down before anyone can hear it

- turning to check on whumpee after they’ve been hurt. “Are you okay?” And whumpee only stares, their eyes wide.

- “stop.” / “no”. Guards yanking them away so Whumper can get to who they want to punish.

- whumper turning on the character who dared to stand up to them, whumpee completely forgotten. Through the blinding pain, all they can think is I can take it. They can’t.

sleep deprived rn so not sure how coherent these thoughts are but idk theres something to be said about how the suckening plays into power dynamics and abuse and celebrity culture and the way people are willing to turn a blind eye to the horrible things someone did if they're popular enough. and how throughout the campaign everyone always steps on others they deem as beneath them to get what they want with no regard to the other persons thoughts or feelings and autonomy. even the characters we're meant to consider 'good' do horrible things. the campaign is full of all the characters doing bad things and having bad things happen to them, spiraling and spiraling further down. also something about vampirism and being forced to take from and hurt others to keep yourself alive idk. and all of this from a ttrpg campaign called The Suckening run by four white male either current or former minecraft youtubers

i was talking to my friend today about something specific othmgod i NEED to get it off my chest 😭😭😭

this has been talked about before but im still stuck on the fact that izuku's eyes got covered in the powered ofa shadow upon seeing katsuki's dead body, and it CONSISTENTLY remained that way until he saw katsuki alive again with his own eyes.

immediately after seeing katsuki's body in ch 367 izuku just lashed out and went all crazy, but his pupils managed to shine through when mirio told him that edgeshot was trying to save katsuki's life.

however it didn't revert back to normal completely cause katsuki wasn't alive YET

gentle, la brava, and lady nagant showed up to aid him and you can see how grateful and relieved he looked, but still, his eyes didn't change. their support meant a lot to him, but it wasn't enough to put him at rest!

the shadow ofa energy finally burst into tears when izuku actually SEES katsuki alive, and it remains that way. whenever he was fighting with his eyes glowing like that, he was shown to be worn out, stressed, and in a constant state of "i-need-to-defeat-shigAFO-now-or-everybody-is-doomed"

but when katsuki shows up, izuku is allowed to shift back to his real self, not the hero deku, but rather midoriya izuku. katsuki steps in and takes two burdens off of his shoulders: saving all might, and taking care of afo and defeating him. izuku is allowed to rely on someone wholeheartedly, and his eyes reverting back to normal shows this.

and the way that horikoshi made sure to never show a single moment from ch 367 until ch 403 where izuku's eyes looked different, and maintained them along with katsuki's death/resurrection, speaks volumes. it shows he was fully aware of these details while drawing them!!!>×;×&#,$

it even ties into katsuki saying he expected a future full of him and izuku, competing and chasing after each other, along with the jump MV portraying katsuki's hand supporting and holding izuku's dream alongside him.

this is exactly what horikoshi wanted katsuki to be!: the man izuku can always trust, rely on, and believe in. he'll be there whenever izuku needs him, for the rest of their lives.
