very controversial opinion here, but sometimes customer service workers are the problem 😶

you know i used to think it was weird how sora and roxas have such different personalities for supposedly being 'the same person' but after playing a few games i sort of realized that they do have similar personalities, because roxas acts how sora does when he's under extreme stress.

compare roxas to sora in, say, kh1. that's where a lot of peoples idea of sora's personality comes from. sora is generally very upbeat and optimistic in that game. not very similar to roxas, right?

but let's switch the game and talk about a game where sora is ABSOLUTELY GOING THROUGH IT. chain of memories.

sora's resting state is melancholy in com. he only ever cheers up in short bursts, usually when he's joking around with friends. just like roxas.

he's quick to anger, and tends to lash out at the organization members. best example of this is when larxene makes him 'remember' namine, and he swings at her repeatedly, even after she's gone. he only stops when jiminy is able to snap him out of it.

you know what scene that resembles?

sora, while a bit more on the angry side and less sad, continues to act like this in kh2 when he's in stressful situations. (he also has a tendancy to insult people which, while it's not very related to the point, is very funny and sora saying 'gonna cry?' to xigbar is great.) i cant comment any further than that about kh2 off the top of my head.

so, roxas acts like sora does when he's stressed, right? but why is roxas always acting like that? to which i say, he isnt!

he only ever acts like that when he's also in fucked up and stressful situations, which happens to be a CONSTANT in his life. but when he's hanging out with axel and xion, a decidedly NOT stressful situation, he's a lot more like sora. he's teasing his friends and insulting his coworkers and joking around and acting like a normal kid. not really important, but unless i misremembered some sora lines which is VERY possible, both roxas and sora respond to friendly insults with "oh thanks!" a lot. just a funny little detail that felt relevant.

the biggest differences between roxas and sora boil down to environment and... i dont know how to put it besides volume? roxas is very quiet and tends to keep most of his thoughts to himself, while sora is very loud and expressive in comparison.

there is one other huge difference i noticed, which is less character based and more story. sora wanted to get off destiny islands and explore with his friends, but roxas just wanted routine. sora wants adventure, and roxas wants things to stay the same, for days where he gets off work and eats ice cream with his friends to last forever, to keep having conversations about nothing and watching the sunset. roxas wants normalcy, sora wants excitement. it's just interesting seeing their contrast.

-omg ness probably heard about the mall incident. one day he’s talking to mike and he’s like “I remember one day hearing about a mall security who beat up this kid’s father! Isn’t that wild?” meanwhile mike is like, “haha yeah that’s wild” and he’s sweating bullets lmao

-kinda explored this dynamic in the baking fic (shameless self promo) but ness and abby get along swell! almost too well in mike's opinion. he might be a little jealous since abby doesn't always listen to him (sibling dynamic) but ness says it and suddenly abby's like "great idea!"

scott

- hes so bad at everything socializing </3 its not even that he doesnt like talking to people, he does, but he does tend to get frantic when he talks and a lot of people find it very hard to get through a conversation with him. his words come out jumbled a lot, he loses track of what hes saying, he has absolutely no idea how to read social cues or body language and so he just nervously and aimlessly rambles on and on about whatever until he feels like hes done, he says whatevers on his mind with no filter, hes awful at small talk, and he doesnt have a good grasp on what is a normal conversation topic. he really wants friendship and connection with other people, but he has no idea how to go about it and as a result has no close friends. scott i love you so dearly

- similarly scott is very blunt (as seen on the phone calls) he does not tiptoe around anything or sugarcoat, he will straight up tell you whatever and then scramble to deal with the aftermath of whatever he said

- scott fidgets with his hands a lot and uses plenty of hand gestures, he also fumbled with his cord sometimes when hes overwhelmed (usually when hes talking) he also has a fidget spinner he got from storage back when those were popular that he uses sometimes

- he thrives on order but his sense of order is not at all a normal one, so what may seem disorienting to someone else makes perfect sense to him. he also really likes to organize things but his organization makes no sense to anyone but him. he also does not like when people move his things (he HATES when vincent uses his mug while hes on night shift)

- like scott hes not great at talking to people, but unlike scott hes aware of the social blunders he makes. he knows that most people arent interested in hearing him talk on and on and on about his interests, but he finds it hard to have a meaningful conversation with someone without bringing them up. dealing with the animatronics is a lot easier for him since they dont judge and also are one of his special interests, so he does often feel more seen by them. he knows that the really should talk to his coworkers instead and he does try to get better about it

- his sleep schedule is busted because he loses track of time really easily when he thinks about/does something related to his special interests. he will lose sleep reading old freddys forums and scrolling ebay for freddys merch because he gets so into the zone that everything else gets blocked out

- he has auditory processing disorder which obviously acts up in a building full of loud music arcade games and screaming kids so he cant hear what someone says to him 80% of the time. he also talks loud so he can hear himself

- it can be hard for him to care about problems/situations that dont include his interests and so he is often percieved as lazy or in his own world

- hes terrible at multitasking

- he isnt very good at volume control especially when he gets excited about something

- he hates loud noises (source: vincents voice actor doing a skit about him not being a fan of loud noises where he literally beats scott to death for ringing too loud, also shown in a few of the og comics) which is part of why he hates the kids at fazbears. sometimes he tries to wear noise cancelling earbuds to drown them out but scott will tell him to take them out if he sees them </3 he gets pissy when hes overstimulated by sound and sometimes will just sneak off and hide somewhere for a while in the quiet (usually in the storage room behind the prize counter or in parts and services)

- toast is his comfort food obv, hes picky with what he eats and usually only eats easy safe foods

- he does the fucking t rex arms thing all the time

- he has very strong reactions to things he doesnt like (example: the pink uniforms)

- socializing with people is weird for him: he doesnt particularly seek out talking to people, and most of the time he actively dislikes it and avoids it, but there are a few people that he does enjoy talking to. of course, most of the enjoyment comes from tormenting them. besides whatever favorite person he has at the time (my bpd king <3333) he usually finds people to be simple and one dimensional, and he only latches onto people he deems as being interesting enough to study. vincent finds studying people from afar significantly easier and often more enjoyable than actually talking to them face to face since theres less pressure on him to perform and hes free to do what he pleases

- he has control issues and hates change especially when it comes to freddys which is his dollhouse of sorts. he has a very specific vision for the people and dynamics there, and if something major were to change he would not be happy. if one of the staff (that he deals with) were to quit, he would rather kill them than let them leave, even if it was someone he didnt really care about

- he inherited his uncles freddys merch and still collects it + he also collects knives (mostly ones he can actually use but he has some just for show too)

but the words are for you.

you look away when he says it, and for a horrible second steve thinks hes been caught, but instead you grab jonathans hand and walk away and steve feels defeated.

“it’s been like an hour.” nancy teases him, reminding him of where he is and the role he still has to play.

you may be gone now, but hes still steve harrington. the good boyfriend, the popular rich kid. he cant escape that.

he pulls nancy into a kiss. “tell me about it.”

steve has lost you, but he has to keep playing his part. maybe one day youll see hes still trying, still holding onto his promise to be kind like you are.

I actually HAVEN'T made a post about these three, even on my previous account! So lets do this!

I'll go over each of them individually since their dynamic is pretty obvious in their animations.

Candyland Trio HC's

Chester HCs

Chester joined the park by signing up to work at the soon to be established Candyland Area. His antics and pranks ended up winning the hearts of both the customers and management, so he got a brawler position, to Mandy's chagrin.

Chester ran a youtube channel before he joined the park. It has all kinds of stuff in there, from food reviews, pranks, and vlogs. Even after he accepted the job at the park and became a brawler, he still keeps up with his videos. It focuses more on the park life and battles now, but hes got a bigger fanbase since.

He has an iron stomach. If theres anyone whos willing to try the most off the wall and disgusting dishes and also someone who wont keel over from bad cooking, its Chester.

Chester has a hunch that hes related to some of the other redheads in the park. Right now he thinks hes either Max's or Draco's cousin. The less said about Colt the better.

Chester is among the taller teens in the park, something he likes to lord over by keeping things out of others reach.

If Chester isnt wearing his bells, he can actually be quite sneaky.

Even though hes a prankster, he *usually* doesnt aim to cause bodily harm. If something crazy is going on when a prank spirals out of control, he'd at least try to fix it instead of booking it for the exit.

Chester is Bi with a big preference for guys.

Chester may have had tiny crushes on his coworkers at some point. But he isn't dating either of them and has since gotten over them.

Chester is exactly one month older than Mandy and often tries to pull the 'Im older' card on her. This has a 50% chance of working at any time.

Even outside of battle, Chester likes to wear a hat. He claims he feels naked without one.

Mandy HCs

Mandy was always a pretty entrepreneurial person. Even from a young age, she knew she wanted to set up her own business and get rich (and maybe famous) from it.

Mandy's Candy was actually a home business in its conception. Mandy was passionate about making sweets and sold her homemade treats online and in a few select stands.

One day, she got the chance to actually sell stuff inside Starr Park (some outside food concessionaires do exist in Park Premises) and it was a big hit! Almost sold out immediately. After a few more days of successful sales, she was approached by the management on sponsoring her candy making business and making her a brawler in the park. She couldn't refuse.

The whole candy kingdom design was her idea. Though she was honestly just expecting a storefont designed like a castle, not a full area of the park. But she will admit, it makes her feel very special.

Even though most of what Mandy sells are the typical sweet treats, shes actually a fan of all kinds of candies. Even ones with bizzare flavor profiles. Shes also a fan of sour candies.

Mandy is questioning. Shs not exactly sure or what she likes, but shes willing to experiment some to figure things out.

There are actual defensive turrets in the candy land castle. Some kids are vicious and she needs to protect her stock!

She thinks Chester is like the brother she never had, since she herself is an only child.

She kind of relates and sympathizes with Berry so shes not too hard on the guy. Besides hes the best worker shes got!

Mandy admires and is a bit jealous of Piper. Her elegance and poise is something she could only dream of being. Also Piper knows how to make and all of her attempts were total flops.

Berry HCs

I'm still debating if Berry is a human or a horse-headed minotaur in my HCs. If hes a horse-headed minotaur, he just wears the suit cause he refuses to get his actual skin and mane dyed.

The original suit was meant to look a bit baggy and dumpy, but Berry's build filled it up very well. Almost too well. His arms couldn't fit in the original suits arms. Management didnt want to make a new suit for him so they just cut off the original arms. Chester jokes that he 'flexed the sleeves off' which Berry doesnt mind.

Berry was in rock bottom when he took the job at Starr Park. He was willing to do and accept anything to keep himself afloat. Hes still not sure how he got promoted to the rank of Brawler, but at least he doesnt have to worry about his past situation. His present situation on the other hand...

He likes his job and his co-workers, but he also feels like he ages 20 years when he remembers that both Chester and Mandy are in their late-teens/early twenties. Partially cause hes reminded of how old he is compared to them, but also cause their antics are really giving him grey hairs under his suit.

His name is Barry dammnit! Some people start using his name correctly, but no matter what he tries he cant get the management to change his name in all the official releases. At least hes not the only one!

Berry knows how to breakdance, and he did it a lot as a kid. Even now that hes older, hes still got the moves to wow everyone.

Berry is fond of both Doug and Lou. The three of them work in the Velosorapids pools in summer. He finds them much more calming to deal with than his trio mates.

Berry likes ice cream but tends to get brain freeze too quickly. Hes honestly happy with any flavor you throw at him.

Berry is pretty sure he knows Bull from somewhere, but the man's attitude throws him off. Hes just extra cautious not to show his face around him, just in case that odd familiarity was because of something bad.

As stated before, Dutch and Hosea raised Tilly, John and Arthur...meaning they bought a house and lived together. (not in a gay couple way. in a friend way /hj)

They still live together despite the kids being grown up. Tilly and John live with them. But Arthur lives on his own.

Dutch and Colm are neighbors. And are rivals in this AU. They often make snarky comments about one another and give glares.

Arthur enjoys being friends with Charles Châtenay, Albert Manson and Algerson Wasp...even though theyre a little erratic. He feels comfortable being around creative people like him c:

Tilly has a crush on Javier. The other girls tease her about it. Arthur knows about it too and will bring it up if he wants to antagonize her (canon btw)

Marybeth and Kieran both have feelings for each other. Tilly and Karen both gag whenever she talks about Kieran. They dont like him because Kieran is associated with Colm.

Arthur's son Isaac is very much alive. (yippee!) so is his mother, Eliza. The two live in a different state but they're doing well, Arthur visits them once a month and always comes for holidays and Isaac's birthday.

Sadie and Jake live happily together too c: Sadie works at a shooting range. Arthur and John visit the range often to blow off some steam or just to bond together with Sadie.

ive mentioned before that Mercedes (Javier's friend and coworker and also Romans cousin) and Tomas dislike each other but I never really went indepth as to why so here

Javier talks a lot a bout Tomas to her, specially when he feels like venting any frustrations he might have with him or any worries he has (mostly about how little Tomas speaks to him or how he spends all day alone and doesn't seen to be getting better) she listens and offers advise but she also sorta came to her own conclusion that Tomas was like, a really autistic kid (mostly because of Javier's comments about having to talk to his new teachers every year so they wouldn't dock points on him for not responding) so her perception of him is super screwed st first

because of this when Javier invited her to have dinner at their place on time stuff happened. she's kinda person who would go "and where's my hug" at children when she Mets them or just is generally pushy with having conversations with people she wants to befriend, none of this is out of malice but she can come off very annoying if someone just isnt in the mood and tomas hasn't been "in the mood" to socialize since he was 8.

immediately after she comes in she sat down next to Tomas on the couch and began talking to him like one would a 4 year old.

tomas ignored her at first and Javier tried to get very subtly tell her to just leave him alone but she kept insisting on talking to him all through the night every time she crossed paths w him (and their house is pretty small so it was often)

that's until Tomas got fed up and went to go outside to probably walk around until she left, she grabbed him by the shoulder and went like "aww you're not gonna have dinner with us buddy? why don't you sit down there and your brother can get you your favorite food ^^" and this Pissed him OFF real bad, before he did anything Javier already knew what was gonna happen. he VERY harshly slapped her hand off and told her to fuck off and honestly probably called her a bitch too before walking right out the front door.

she was really shocked, Javier spent most of the dinner apologizing while also sprinkling in some "I told you to leave him alone" every once in a while. he also did clear her misconception and was kinda angry at her for treating Tomas like that even if she had been right, bit of an awkward conversation to have but she listened and learned #wholesome.

tomas ended up coming back home at like 1 am, about 2 hours after Mercedes left. Javi wasnt really worried cus he did that all the time but he did talk to him and apologized on Mercedes behalf, he didn't care and just want to his room without even grabbing dinner, every other time Mercedes came by Tomas had already either locked himself in his room or straight up left before she even showed up. he still hates her to this day tbh

this was all pre meeting roman too tbh so he was even worse at socializing

and the thing was like. we had this lax fucking job that didnt matter, we were both basically running this shitty lil store nobody came in for the christmas season. and like i had admitted id never done anything, but i should have noticed it was gonna be weird quicker, cuz while she was understanding of like 'ok yeah youre a dude i get that' it was. hmm. it wasnt really like she felt like that, and she didnt notice so much that shit she would say hurt my feelings. like this was so unserious honestly, but uh the thing abt taking t in your mid 20s is youre like... right im... im going through a literal puberty and being stupid as a teenager. im bad with expressing my feelings normally cuz of that.

anyway. it was a fling really. it was stupid and shouldnt have happened, and it probably hurt me more than i thought, but she got like... jealous of one of the employees who id known from a prev job... who to me was like. literally a child (cuz like, id known her since she was) and that made me feel so weird, cuz i was like ?? why the hell would i be thinking about her like that i havent done ANYTHING that would make you think that. and hello i only said i liked you ? but then i guess the age gap was the same in her eyes and so that might have been why she thought that. but like pfft if youre ~25 dating a ~30 yr old its whatever thats normal. going the other way gets weirder ESP if uh. HELLO i was this kids boss?? that was so weird that she felt like that. i guess cuz i was just better at getting along w people younger than me, as someone who isnt a TRUE millennial, someone whos pop culture references lean gen z or whatever. idk i just know kids like my vibe for some reason. there was NEVER anything else going on i was just... being chill? but that was enough to cause jealousy.

but i tend to be a person who just cant socialize with people for long periods of time, i ghost people a lot, i dont have a history of having friends i dont know how to maintain relationships, but also i really didnt want to at this point. i felt really gross about it and embarrassed for putting myself out there and admitting a secret about myself.

anyway next year rolls around and i see her at the next job season and she tells me she and another coworker found my tiktok page (cuz shit forcibly adding your contacts IS THE DEVIL) and uh. she had to explain to said coworker that i was trans. which. felt like shit. obviously. i was still not out.

anyway THAT person was a piece of shit who talked down to me and acted like i was terrible at my job and brought aLL the personal shit up as if i had ever trusted HER with any of it. like using my new chosen name in texts and shit to call me out for nothing. i had to give her a fucking 'excuse me, you dont get to call me that i never fucking told you that and its WEIRD that you think you get to call me that just cuz you invaded my privacy.'

she literally told both my bosses about all my private shit with this girl. like all that stupid bullshit about how we had dated and it didnt go well, she spread my private shit. and like... it all... ugh. like i got told by said bosses 'hey. none of what she said is important at all dont even worry about it.' and i really appreciated that. but that year was so bad for me, i felt like i was being watched like everything i did was being misconstrued. everything blew up so fast if there was something sma,, and it was 100% that person making it worse.

next year i just came out finally just was like. yeah alright. got a beard now, had my tits removed, might as well. and everyone was chill. personal beef spreading bitch didnt come back (the bosses were glad of that) shit was chill. was on friendly terms with "ex" being normal, never had any beef that year. was very much a 'the beef we had the previous year was this bitch egging her on'. i was partially running store. everything was fine i thought.

next year. as it turns out? was not asked to help run store that year. was very confused, there was a slot to fill that no one else could and i wasnt asked to do it. instead they had this absolute bigot who made everyone and i mean EVERYONE who worked there so uncomfortable, abusive language bigoted talk, wouldnt let people leave if they were sick ass piece of shit.. yeah he got the job. and everyone complained, but hes friends with the boss so whatever.

anyway reached my wits end. quit mid season. was fine, i was moving anyway, it was whatever.

you know why i wasnt asked to have that job? cuz the ex. for some reason without thinking, said 'yeah ill come back but i dont want him to be in charge after last year'. and she... never told me there was any problem. and that hurt me so bad. like talking to other people who were there, it all seemed like... okay, i was good at my job and would just.. act like a boss and not a friend sometimes. like be the guy going 'hey can you like. go do __ i need to count the till i dont have time to hear your funny joke rn'. and she took it personally. like its fine if youre sensitive to stuff, but i was under so much stress a lot and i dont always handle it well.

and that beef she had that she didnt tell me about turned into me losing a job, losing my sanity, feeling utterly betrayed and forcing everyone else who worked there to deal with the biggest pos as a boss with no repercussions. i heard from people post quitting i was being talked shit about by my prev bosses TO the employees. for the crime of... complaining about a bigot. who was misgendering me, being racist to other employees, making the teens feel unsafe to be around. like this was a SCREAMING old man kind of shit.

and all because the ex, initially, made a comment about not wanting me to be in charge. and i just... i really dont even know what i did. it was so underhanded. and when i asked her about it, she just said 'no i didnt say i WOULDNT work under you i just said i HOPED you wouldnt be in charge, and weeks later i asked why you werent in charge' but like??? no. you literally said something that cost me a job. you did. theres no taking that back, you didnt tell me any beef you had with me, you clearly equated job stress with personal stress. you cost me a job! YOU did that you set off a chain of events! and like i cant even begin to explain how much i helped her with shit at jobs. like i kind of took all the responsibility but we were both being paid the same. i would get called every day by her being confused by things while i was at home and help walk her through shit. it was fine, i was stressed but i was fine i never held it against her!

and she like. blew up that entire shit. that whole job i loved got blown up cuz i thought i trusted a person. like was it entirely her fault? obviously not. but that kind of shit.. it just hurt. the idea that i trusted her with my own shit years ago, then time and time again that blew up in my face until i just cant look back at any of it happily anymore makes me so upset. 8 years of a job i loved w a friend, and it all got ruined cuz i said 'hey by the way, im trans' and that spiralled into something stupid.

and i havent had a job since for SOOOOOOME REASON..... i sit at home doing fuck all cuz i cant stand the idea of being around anybody again. i dont trust anybody. i dont feel safe talking to people, being in public, having a job... its so stupid and i hate everything.

also the whole. got clocked and almost punched had my 6 ft brother not been standing near me at the time thing. so now i am uh. just completely agoraphobic.

First day on the job!!! My first proper job!! I hope i'm good, i mean i cant remember the last time i made a coffee. Actually i dont think i have ever made a coffee. Wait come to think of it why did they hire me? Maybe Its because all i have to do is make coffee, how hard can that be pfft-

"Are you the new kid? We could use you over here. Tweek show them what to do." Said a tall brunette dude, he must be the manager i guess??? or maybe that blonde guy is the manager? or his he too youn- "H-Hey! New guy!" Oh shit the twitchy blonde guy called me over, He must be tweek!

The rest of the day Tweek helped me bring down the que. I think he feels a bit guilty for leaving me. Also I think he has realised I dont know anything about coffee! At least he didnt snitch! And I guess making coffee isnt actually that hard once you get the hang of it!!!

"Hey tweek, Thank you for helping me today, I think i underestimated the job a little bit!!" I giggled. "I-its okay I mean trust me, I have seen worse" He laughs back, awww he's blushing!! You know what i might aswell shoot my shot! "Hey tweek, wanna go grab a coffee sometime?" "GAHH- TOO MUCH!!!" He scribbled something down on a left over recipt, handing it to me as he ran off. When I ran away from my parents I had handed in my 2 weeks so my parents wouldn’t be able to harass me at my place of work. I hadn’t told my coworkers about my situation but during one of my last days I had found myself in small talk w/ one of the parent aged ones. I offhandedly mentioned that the restrictions my parents had set up on my phone had prevented me from getting a rewards card earlier that year and My coworker literally paused the conversation to get me one immediately, telling me to set it up with an email my parents didn’t know about while at a friend’s house. I had never been able to trust adults to respond w/ anything other than dismissal if I ever got the courage to admit I didn’t think the way my parents treated me was okay since they have always been social butterflies and most of the abuse was religious. So it felt really bittersweet to realize I might’ve been able to have a trustworthy adult in my life for that past year or so. Heck, I was leaving that place with a bunch of lies to throw my parents off my trail if they tried to get anything from my old coworkers so I even felt a bit guilty

All this to ask, did any of the turtles have any adults like this in their lives? Parent aged adults they didn’t realize they could trust until it was too late?

ive got a similar story to this, though its not really the same since i worked at mcdonalds for such a small amount of time. But I miss my managers there more than I miss my parents, which is wild cuz before that i didnt realize I needed that kind of parent-aged-adult i could trust until i had to say goodbye.

short answer? no. though they were neglected and often ignored to the point that they could kinda just go wherever they wanted- Splinter instilled enough fear of the outside in them that they mostly spent their childhood and even a lot of their teen years exclusively in the sewers and skulking around new york at night.

long answer? kind of but not really. Like, Donnie has a whole thing with Big Mama, right? and he also found the hidden city and just didn't tell anyone for years. but most of the adults he found were NOT trustworthy, even Big Mama, who never really hurt him. She's kind of in a gray area where she can tell his home life sucks and she has genuine affection for him, but her CAPITALIST SPIDER SENSES prevent her from being like. a good person lmao.

Like, she uses the fact that hes a kid and doesn't know what his inventions are worth, and the fact he's clearly being abused and is easily manipulated, to get him to work for her for dirt cheap. And while donnie isnt a great judge of character, some subconscious part of him kind of realizes she's not really an adult he can trust all that much. he could have easily run away to live with her, but a part of him knew that wouldn't necessarily be a better life. just a different one.

as for the others, they really only knew Splinter and Draxum (and April's parents, though they never met them) so theres not a huge pool of adults to even trust in the first place.
