I got inspired by @shitsecurityguards to make my own interpretation of the old security guards… I think Mike should be non-verbal because of brain injury. I feel like he also sometimes uses crutches to get around.

i headcanon that vincent hasnt been convicted of murder yet due to the police thinking hes way too obvious to be a serial killer so they just keep accidentally jailing the wrong people instead

thats definitely part of it (look at his bumper stickers) but i also think he does put in the effort to force himself out of his comfort zone and talk to other people for the sake of appearing well adjusted
