I’ve spent a lot of time talking about how people are projecting their cultural Christianity onto the Dawnfather a lot in a way that doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t make sense to treat a singular god of a pantheon — a god of the sun, summer, and agriculture with limits on his domain — as being the same as an omnipotent deity from a monotheistic religion. Not to mention it’s extremely lazy. This is a fantasy world with its own complex religious system; there is no reason to model it on a religion that has a current hegemonic presence in the real world when you could make up something more unique.

So let’s just say I’m a little disappointed by certain choices in the most recent episode.

Genuinely no disrespect to the players and GM, obviously. They’re gonna make their own choices. I just really hope Nick makes Ayden more complicated and unique than Basically Just Jesus.

ramblings about the formatting of the aliit rewrite and like.. moral dilemmas of co-writer divorce 

i would really prefer to create a new series to post the altered aliit au works and leave the originals the way they are. i don’t like the idea of erasing work people like from ao3. i don’t like the idea of massively changing work someone else contributed to without their involvement and without providing access to the original. 

during the split, exco said i could include work she did on unposted wips with co-creator credit, so part of me thinks? theoretically? maybe i could create a duplicate/updated series and credit her on the parts if it that include her original work? but that would add a bunch more works to her ao3 profile that she has no say in the direction of anymore, which also doesn’t feel right? 

the only way i can think to add chapters in the middle of these fics (which will be necessary in the rewrite) is to paste the new chapter over an existing one and move each next chapter one spot over, if that makes sense. but that will mean that my exco is co-creator on chapters i wrote alone and i don’t really like that. 

i don’t know. it seems so unnecessarily complicated and i would like to just ask her what she wants me to do so both of us can feel good about the end result, but she has me blocked. which is her right, obviously, but now it seems like no matter what i choose to do, i’m going to have to do something with her work without her permission because i cannot obtain it. 

i’m not willing to abandon the series, either. she wanted to which, again, is her right, but i have more of their story to tell and control over the series was handed over to me. so????

So you can listen to Air Traffic Controllers talk to pilots on youtube which is where the idea for Emily being an ATC came from. But I always forget how exasperated some of these people sound when directing pilots and I can just imagine it being Emily, frustrated, trying to keep her composure as she's trying to direct Optimus with his jetpack, Blitzwing, a regular plane full of regular passengers, and Omega Supreme on where and what order to land in, just a whole bunch of:

"Blitzwing, you're behind Delta 8172, Optimus I need you to land on 22R, and Delta 8172 you're clear to begin descent, you're going to gate--"

"Where am I going?"

"Omega Supreme, I am getting you, just give me a minute."

honestly I'm still kinda peeved about that anon I got in response to my post about the toxic, harmful behaviors associated with traditional masculinity (and thus, the behaviors men are encouraged and rewarded for engaging in) and how those behaviors hurt women more than they'll ever hurt men that said basically "erm masculinity and femininity aren't genders :/" yeah no shit but they ARE the standards and ideals men and women respectively are held to and punished for not adhering to. they ARE words we use to talk about gender because its a social and cultural concept.

the amount of people in the tags saying "yeah masculinity and femininity aren't real, they're whatever you want them to be" is honestly infuriating. I don't live in fantasyland where I'm not constantly being punished for being feminine wrong *and* being masculine wrong, because i exist as a trans woman in a binary misogynistic patriarchal society.

and by the way? the reason so many trans people on here have backwards conservative views about gender is exactly because they just say "these words don't mean anything!" and refuse to critically examine their beliefs or where they came from (mainstream society), and therefore reinforce the status quo without realizing it. think the post that's like "don't ask me why but mlm is dark academia and wlw is cottagecore". gee buddy I wonder why you think men should go to college and women should stay home and tend the house

re: the situation here, the supreme court is gonna be announcing their decision tomorrow on whether to declare the mining contract illegal/unconstitutional (actually its a bit more complicated bc they'll be repealing a specific law, but to keep it understandable lmao) which would then give justification for it to be voided. first quantum minerals will likely try to sue our government if that happens, but that'll be the next problem to deal with and people would rather know our representatives actually convey the population's will at the very least lmfao. but if the court doesn't give the decision people want to hear then shit will definitely kick off for at least a few days.

also the canadian embassy have refused to get involved at all or even give a statement, and won't respond to anyone, but it doesn't surprise me whose side the canadian government is on 🤡
