it’s crazy that every time i hear about rempe it’s not because of his hockey abilities but because he tried to take someone’s head off. like the way he plays is so unsafe and that fact that the rangers continue to allow him to play this way every time they bring him up is SO unsafe and so negligent on their part, like one day he’s gonna hurt someone really badly and there’s gonna be nothing the rangers or him can do to save his career after that point bc all they’ll have is the dozens of other times he’s gotten lucky by not seriously injuring someone.

the thing is... i think the rangers and their org are partially responsible for encouraging this on a different level... his name was making headlines all the fucking time when he was Fighting For Show all those first times he was called up and beaten black and blue and it's like. yeah, that is sad that he feels like that's the role he has to play to get there bc it is, but he's fully culpable here too. there's no 'oh he doesn't mean to'... like it is what he does on purpose. he jumps into hits. he puts himself in positions to actively injure ppl and it doesn't make him hesitant to hit again. it's not a one off. not only that but he's inflicting damage on himself getting into senseless stupid fights sometimes like it's all just..... this is why hitting and that kind of violence is actually detrimental to this sport. at this point, i don't even find it fun to watch basically ever. goon ass behavior like his should be punished... not encouraged by an organization/the league or excused by the fanbase. he's an adult, and he KEEPS doing it. it is hilarious to me to see people who had ZERO problem condemning trouba's head hunting jumping through insane hoops to be like. awww i wish he wouldn't do that. awww doesn't he look so sexy going to the penalty box. like girl stand the fuck up, oh my god.
