Apparently false accusations, though common, are thoroughly investigated. At least that’s what an article in KFVS 12 stated when it comes to false calls in the state of Missouri. Well, THAT IS A LIE!!!!!!!!!

With a LARGE amount of proof that it didn’t happen, police believe the woman caller, even though she said she was stabbed and had no stab wound, her target was still arrested and charged and has been through a whirlwind.

I don’t think this story will make it far but if anyone thinks they can weigh in, I could go on WAY more in depth !

Missouri: Sikeston cop forced to resign after terror-linked CAIR complaint about anti-Islam comments

The terror-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations sent copies of the comments to department officials, leading to the investigation.

SIKESTON, Mo. (KFVS) - An officer with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety, who was placed on administrative leave, has resigned.

Chief James McMillen said the officer, a 20-year veteran of the department, resigned Friday morning, Sept. 13 after making anti-Islamic posts on a public Facebook account.

In a statement, Chief McMillen said “the officer in question realized this and knew we had to part ways” and turned in his equipment after giving a verbal resignation.

According to Chief McMillen, the citizen who made the initial complaint about the posts was informed about the officer’s resignation.

The Missouri Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) will reportedly be informed of the officer’s resignation as part of the investigation.

According to Chief McMillen, an internal investigation into the officer in question ended with his resignation from the department.

Chief McMillen said the citizen who made the complaint had concerns about the employee’s alleged inflammatory statements on Facebook and him being employed with the city.

“I have to say when I first saw that I was shocked and severely disappointed that one of our officers would post a comment directed at a religion like that is was just really disappointing," said McMillen.

The Missouri chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations said they sent copies of the comments to department officials, leading to the investigation. They identified the person who posted the comments as a DPS officer.

According to the group, the comments included: “I get to choose whom I dislike and it just so happens to be all muslims [sic] and their beliefs.”

“What if the officer pulled over a Muslim woman with a head scarf or a man with a big beard how would he treat that individual? We believe that is not appropriate for any kind of police officer and people with that belief should not be serving in that position," added Syed.

They said other comments included calling for the deportation of American Muslims and calling the Quran, “filthy koran [sic],” and Islam a “filthy religion.”

The officer in question was placed on administrative leave after an investigation into the complaint began.

McMillen said he takes the complaint very seriously and there is a social media policy.

“The expectation is that you are a public figure and regardless if you are on duty or off duty. You represent this agency and anything you say can negatively affect us and this mission that we have to do over again. We hold them responsible for what they post," said McMillen.

Chief McMillen says the person who reported the post did the right thing by bringing it to their attention, because they want to make sure all of their officers are doing unbiased policing.

In a statement, Chief McMillen said “We will continue to demand excellence in our officers and we urge citizens to make us aware of any issues they feel need to be addressed.”

The Official Red Carpet Review

Red carpet reviews in Ghana have been on uprise and it is a trend that excites me. Writers are now criticizing what people wear on the red carpet and this is a useful tool to help designers to see their creations from a different perspective. Let us hold each other accountable and that's how we will grow the fashion industry in Ghana industry.

The Glitz Style Awards is an annual award show created to honor people in the entertainment industry for the strides they have made in fashion. We are here for fashion or lack there off that was served on the red carpet and I know you can’t wait to see what we think of everyone’s ensemble.

Debbie opted for a simple white strapless gown with white pleat details on the waist. White was appropriate since she won stylist of the year and most deservedly. I love this outfit on her. Everything she is wearing works. She is wearing her hair in a big afro, her skin is moisturized and the outfit is right. I would have opted for a different color shoe and the length of the dress should have been a tad longer. That would have taken it to the ultimate level but this is very beautiful none the less.

Deborah Vanessa, the African mermaid, gave us a very beautiful dress. Floor length gown with a beaded midsection and a nude illusion fabric that matches her skin tone. Even though this is a feat designers here don't know to match the nude fabric to the color of their clients' skin. This outfit worked for her but if she had kept it to the beautifully beaded short dress it would have been perfect. Less sometimes is more. This dress is by The House of Paon who has been very incognito recently. Looks like he might have been fine tuning his craft.

Our first male entry into the best dressed like is designer Atto Tetteh. This is a beautiful double-breasted green suit. Would have preferred a shorter length because he is not tall and long jackets lengthen the torse and makes you look shorter than you are. The shoes are not the best pairing but they work.

Claudia makes this best-dressed list 50% because of the dress and 50% because of this photo. This photo shows the dress beautifully while the photo she posted on her personal Instagram page wasn't the most flattering for the dress. Is it just me or is the makeup is a bit off? It doesn't look bad, it just looks a tad weird. Correct me in the comments if you think I am tripping.

I have two major questions about this photo; why are there paper bags in the frame and also why is her head tilted that way in all the images of her from the red carpet? But that is neither here nor there because she has every woman green with envy in this beautiful dress. I love the dress. Her hair and makeup, on the other hand, is not the best. Girl blue hair? ugh ugh!

Before you rip my head off this dress is not that bad. If that stiff, shiny, cheap fabric used to make the bow was taken away this is a very simple column dress. But she had to go and add a bow and ruin everything. She still makes the list.

I like this tan suit on Pappy Kojo and that is the only reason he is in this best-dressed list. The suit looks well-tailored and ironed, it will surprise you the number of people in Ghana who go on the red carpet with crumpled clothes. Now let's get into those ugly ass crocs. Why would he do this to such a beautiful outfit? We didn’t even like Balenciaga crocs why would we like the plain ones on the red carpet? Men are truly from Mars. smh!

Everybody loves uncle Chester. He's fun and this look is a perfect representation of him; fun and fashionable. This black ensemble works for him and works for us.

Maia Tafo is only on this list because of his upper body. That black jacket with gold pieces on it is so beautiful to look at. I wish he had paired it with pants of the same color that didn't tapper at the end. Men want to be cool so bad that they will tapper, literally, anything. GIVE IT UP!

I like this dress on Sacha and I see where she is going with this outfit. If she had taken away the tulle at the sleeves of the dress this outfit would have been perfect but the tulle on the sleeve is not working for me.

Anne and Shawn (described as someone's cool friends on the Glitz Africa Instagram page) were the power couple of the night. I think this is the perfect couple outfit. The cutout and high slit on the dress are perfectly placed and show off her body beautifully. Shawn looked dapper in a black tux, black shirt, and a black bow tie. I would have loved a little color to break up the monochromatic nature of the ensemble but this also works fine.

Using horizontal stripes and polka dots in one outfit is daring but I think it works in this instance. Does this look need to be edited, yes definitely, but somehow I do not hate it. I think it is a good enough dress for the red carpet and she looks radiant and comfortable in it.

Zynell "do the MOSTEST" Zuh is one of the people that always want to grab your attention with an over the top outfits on the red carpet. This outfit is the only outfit where she didn't use over 20 yards to create and it is the only outfit that has made it to a best-dressed list that I have written. I have never been so proud. If only she could do a little more editing and left the bag at home but we take our wins where we can.

This a beautiful dress on Lharley and she looks radiant but this is a great example of making sure your dress fits correctly and knowing how to pose in your outfit before you hit the red carpet. For women of a particular size, cutouts are very tricky because if the outfit is a bit tight your body looks like it is spilling out of your dress. You can either get it to fit right or elongate yourself when you are taking photos to smooth out the side.

I love this look from head to toe. The hair looks good, the dress is well fitted and hugging her body, the slit is high and her shoes are tasteful. PS the images on her Instagram are even better than this image.

So there you have it. The creme de la creme of the night. If you didn’t make this year’s list work hard to understand the fundamentals of fashion and then bring a gorgeous outfit to the runway next year. If Sarah Jessica Parker plans her MET Gala outfits months before the first Monday of May, you can do same.

More Than A Number: The Urgent Need to Reform Media Reports

Layleen Polanco

Layleen Polanco was 27 years old. She is remembered as “a sweet, amazing [..] and generous human being.” Her family home was located in Yonkers, New York. She was very involved in New York City’s ballroom scene and was a member of the House of Xtravaganza. Layleen was remembered by her sister as a bubbly person. She is also a good friend of Pose star Indya Moore. Not a lot of information of her life has been released but members of her family, extended family, and friends have fought for her justice and have protested against the justice system trying to sweep her murder under the rug.

Nina Pop

Nina Pop was 28 years old. She was “deeply loved by her family, friends, and community.” She was very involved in her homelife and was close to her family. According to the Human Rights Campaign, weeks before her death she shared photos of her and her siblings. Her family, friends, and community are largely mourning her loss as many posts remembering Nina states that “everyone loved” her. Nina “worked at a fast-food restaurant in Sikeston and was well-known in the area,” according to KFVS, a TV station in nearby Cape Girardeau. Her friend Emory McCauley remembers her as a woman who “was always happy.”

Dominique “Rem’mie” Fells

Dominique “Rem’mie” Fells was 27 years old. She is remembered by a friend as a “unique and beautiful soul.” According to the Human Rights Campaign, friends of Dominique are mourning her death online. One of her friends posted that she was “a unique and beautiful soul who I am lucky to have known personally.” Dominique’s friend states that “we need to fight. We need to do more. We will get justice.” According to her friend Kendall Stephens, Dominique was originally from New York and was a “social butterfly who was very close to her mother.” He states that “she lived her truth so loud that you could hear her a mile away.” She had plans to go back to school and had dreams of being a fashion designer.

Aja Raquell Rhone-Spears

Aja Raquell Rhone-Spears was 32 years old. She was beloved by her family and remembered as a “vibrant personality.” According to the Human Rights Campaign she sometimes used the name Rocky Rhone. She studied at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and was the owner/founder of International Barbie, a Portland based clothing brand. According to her Facebook she was very close to her family and constantly would post photos with them. She was very outspoken when it came to call out racial injustice, especially police brutality and “advocated for a world free from white supremacy.” Her family states that “she was nonetheless a source of joy to her loved ones who always helped others in need.”

Aerrion Burnett

Aerrion Burnett was 37 years old. She lived nearby Kansas City. Her friends and family remember her as a “person you wanted by your side.” Korea Kelly, who was friends with Aerrion states that “Aerrion was a Barbie, she was a goddess.” Family members and the local community have held vigils calling for justice, and Burnett’s friends honored her at a memorial service. At the vigil, loved ones released balloons in her honor.

Mia Green

Mia Green was 29 years old. According to the Human Rights Campaign, her friends and family shared how “her smile was so perfect and so contagious. She made me laugh.” Deja Lynn Alvarez, a transgender community activist, states that she remembers Mia as a person that “was very well loved and respected and from all accounts from everyone in the community, she was an amazing, beautiful person." Tori Cooper, HCR’s director of community engagement for the transgender justice initiative, states that “Mia was a person who mattered, and she did not deserve to have her life stolen from her.

Brooklyn Deshuna

Brooklyn Deshuna was 20 years old. According to the Human Rights Campaign, other reports have also identified her as Brooklyn DeShauna Smith. She attended Bossier Parish Community College and studied cosmetology. “Brooklyn was just 20 years old, at the beginning of her life. HRC Director of Community Engagement for the Transgender Justice Initiative, Tori Cooper, states “Brooklyn was just 20 years old, at the beginning of her life. She did not deserve to have that life taken from her. Not one of the trans and gender non-conforming people who have been killed this year deserved to have their lives taken from them.” Her friends remember her as “genuinely a good person.” Her friends and family are also demanding justice for her death.

As we look back to previous blog posts the idea that because the deaths of these women occurred a year or two ago that trans violence is not a current issue occurring in our society because of how “progressive” we’ve become. That could not be more incorrect! I want it to be clear that trans violence, especially for Black trans women, is very current and ongoing. This is an issue that has been occurring for far too long and because it is swept under the rug, as well as rarely reported upon in the media, this issue is made smaller than what it actually is. That fact alone is extremely dangerous to the trans community who during this time requires the most coverage but in the correct way. Awareness must be spread or the idea that trans violence has “disappeared” will disseminate. In fact the Human Rights Campaign states that “this epidemic of violence disproportionately targets transgender people of color.” Although more coverage for this community needs to increase many changes must occur. One being holding the media and police reports accountable in correctly reporting information about the trans community. Deadnaming, misnaming, and misgendering must cease. So many women, in fact far too many trans women, on this list but as well as past blog lists have sadly faced this injustice. Their family and friends protest and speak up for their lost loved ones who have experienced this but the mistake has be constantly made time and time again. Enough is enough. 

These murders are very real. Some may believe that trans violence has ceased, but to believe that is very ignorant.  In fact the murders of three of the women on this list: Aerrion Burnett, Mia Green, and Brooklyn Deshuna, occurred in the last three months. As More Than A Number is coming to a close we must remember to continue advocating for this community. As it is a known fact that the media holds an extreme amount of power over our society I want to hone in on the fact that the incorrect reporting of trans women, especially Black trans women, in the media actually creates a more dangerous environment for their community. I want to continue researching how deadnaming, misnaming, and misgendering in the media actually incites more violence in this community and is extremely damaging. The fight is not yet over or even close to being done.

When attacking a Nightmare, Mad Rat will jump in reaction. Utilize this to move freely throughout the air.

Humans live in dangerous places for a rodent like Mad Rat. Overcome various accidents during each stage to carry out your revenge.

Slide down a slope, ride the wind in the sky, and enjoy other high tempo actions throughout each stage.

Did you get hit? No worries, just use the rewind function!

If you lack skill in rhythm and action games, then no worries, just use the “rewind” function. If a Nightmare kills you, you can simply rewind to your preferred location a few moments prior.

You can also call out your heart yourself, which comes in handy for practicing specific parts.

Build up “Dream Power” to hype up Mad Rat!

Throughout each stage is a cheese-shaped item called “Dream Power,” which restores the time limit when picked up.

■ Three Modes

In addition to “Play” mode (story mode), there is also a “Stage Select” mode (freely select a stage and song), and “Sound Test” mode (listen to each song).

“Play” Mode

Play through Mad Rat’s adventure. Mad Rat will progress through each stage by performing rhythmic actions to the beat of each song.

Each stage’s cutscenes feature amusing interactions between Mad Rat and his heart. What outcome awaits this unlikely duo? Overcome the game’s many stages to find out!

“Stage Select” Mode

Replay the stages you have cleared in “Play” mode. Change the music that plays throughout the stage to your favorite track and aim for the high score. You can also rewatch cutscenes to experience Mad Rat and his heart’s conversations once again.

The “Hard Mode” option that you can take on in “Stage Select” mode is higher in difficulty, but has notes more in tune to the rhythm. Try to clear Hard Mode for all of your favorite songs!

“Sound Test” Mode

Listen to the songs for stages you have cleared. Sit back and enjoy the music from the game’s wonderful lineup of artists. You can also perform actions with Mad Rat, so use this space to practice the game’s more difficult tracks.

Arkansas: Latest updates on coronavirus

Arkansas has reported 96 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of Friday (March 20). An additional 203 people are under investigation for the disease and 548 people are being monitored with daily check-ins because of an increased risk of exposure, according to the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH).

On Friday (March 20) Governor Asa Hutchinson said cases of COVID-19 had been detected in three long-term care facilities in the state. Officials are now working to test all residents and staff of those facilities.

Overall, state labs have tested more than 400 people for COVID-19.

On Thursday (March 19),  Governor Asa Hutchinson said restaurants will not be allowed to provide dine-in service, they can offer take-out option only, THV11 reported.

Also on Thursday, Hutchinson announced that all schools in the state would be closed through April 17, according to THV11.

Officials in Little Rock will implement a curfew, lasting midnight to 5 a.m., starting Wednesday (March 18), according to KASU.

On Saturday (March 14), officials said they were working to increase the number of COVID-19 tests conducted, from 20 to 160 per day, KFVS reported.

Cases are confirmed in the following counties: Pulaski, Jefferson, Saline, Garland, Cleburne, Cleveland, Lincoln, Desha, Washington, Searcy, Pope, Van Buren, Independence, Faulkner, Craighead, Poinsett, Sevier, Clark and Bradley.
