so much of adora’s inner conflict in s5 being that she wants so deeply to live and just be with catra (& how that’s when she’s at her happiest and most at peace even when everything is at it’s peak with horde prime) but she thinks she’s not allowed to want that; if she cares about catra and the planet she needs to die for them not be happy and let herself be loved. she can’t even voice it aloud, not even when they’re at the heart she just comforts catra but shows it through action, letting catra stay with her, an ounce of ‘selfishness’ because she yearns for catra’s comfort and presence. adora’s arc is so intertwined with lesbianism in our world; repression and ‘duty’ being impounded into us to the point where it feels like you shouldn’t even be thinking about another option.

fr thouh, riza is only in her mid-to-late(-at-most) 20s. People often portray her as this wise motherly grand matriarch taking others under her wing... but she is just a young woman with issues really. Maybe she is wise beyond her years in some ways, she grew up fast and been through a lot in such a short time. But she is also still a young adult,,, trying and learning to balance her chaotic life. Roy calls her a kid in ishval and young woman in canon timeline even....

I love that Ed sees the messy state of her apartment and hears about her past... she does look wise, collected and stable to him, but she is really not. She’s barely 10 years older and was just like him fairly recently. I’m sure he heard about her breakdown from Al too.. but yeah she is older but not really all that different from Ed because of it. Everyone has their chaos and struggles. Things just keep happening and everyone tries their best.

At risk of sounding like an insane person, years ago there was a very brief window of time where I was making Song Playlists for HK characters and making Song Playlists for my original characters.
