Take Care of You
Fiyero Tigelaar x gn!reader
Prompt(s): "Iâve been taking care of myself for a long time. I donât need your help, and I definitely donât need your pity. Fuck off.â / "You donât have to go through this alone. Iâm right here for you if youâll just let me in.â
Trigger Warnings: Swearing, general descriptions of sickness, stress, something in readers background makes them not want to depend on people, out of character fiyero? (idk man I've only seen the movie and read a lot of gilyeraba fics}
Summary: You and Fiyero have been going out for a few weeks, but you're still hesitant to let yourself get too near him. When you come down with the mysterious illness that's been working its way through Shiz, Fiyero's determined to nurse you through it, despite your reservations.
The harder you tried to focus on the words before you, the more your head swam. The library was quiet, and the lights were dim, so there shouldn't have been any chances of your headache getting worse. Yet pain still thundered at your temples.
Of course, after dodging this sickness for weeks, you caught it just in time for Dr. Dillamond to assign a very important project. It was just your luck.
You dropped your pen to the side, letting your head drop down onto your arms, heaving in a deep breath. No matter what you took or how much you tried to shake it, you could lose the bone tiredness that had been plaguing you for days now.
"You alright, darling? How long have you been holed up in here for?"
You nearly jumped out of your skin at the sound of Fiyero's voice, dragging your head up so quickly you swore you saw spots, "Uh-"
"Woah, hey," He quickly sat down in the chair next to you, reaching out like he needed to steady you, "What's going on?"
You blinked, trying to clear your vision, "Sorry- sorry, I'm just- tired."
"No need to apologize, darling. Are you sure you're alright?"
Clearing your throat, you nodded, "Yeah, I'm fine. Just have a bit of a headache."
Fiyero frowned, glancing at the textbook in front of you, "Well how long have you been working? Maybe it's time for a break."
"Only an hour. I'm fine."
He watched you with concern as you turned back to your work. You could practically feel him watching you, surely taking stock of the dark bags under your eyes, the unusual paleness of your skin, the way you suddenly couldn't seem to warm up.
"Have you taken medicine-"
"Yes. I do know how to take care of myself, Fiyero." There's a sharpness to your voice even you don't expect.
Even out of the corner of your eye you can see him frown, "I know that, darling, I know. You just don't look too good."
You let out a sigh, starting turn toward him again, "Fiyero-"
Before you could stop him, he was reaching out to press the back of his hand to your forehead, his frown deepening, "Darling, your burning up, what on earth are you doing studying?"
"The new assignment from Dr. Dillamond-"
"Isn't due for a week and a half! I mean honestly- Darling you should be resting-"
You stood up abruptly, even as it made stars dance in your vision, "I've been taking care of myself for a long time. I don't need your help, and I certainly don't need your pity, so please, fuck off."
Fiyero had stood and managed to catch your wrist before you could even make it three steps away, pulling you to turn back to him with a strange, desperate look on his face, "Who said this was pity?"
"Fiyero--"
"Who said this was pity?" He repeated, letting go of your wrist only to cup your cheek, his voice dropping, "I happen to genuinely care about your wellbeing, because believe it or not, I care about you, darling."
You closed your eyes for a long moment, trying desperately to turn away, "Fiyero..."
"You don't have to go through this, or anything else alone. Not anymore, not while I'm here," His hand drifted back to the back of your neck, gently turning your face back to him, "I'm right here if you'll just let me in."
Just like that, something in you seemed to break, and you were suddenly trying to blink away tears.
"Oh- Darling-"
"I'm sorry- I'm sorry-"
Fiyero began gently wiping away he few tears that had escaped and were trailing down your cheeks, "Hey, hey, don't apologize..."
"I'm just so tired- I can't shake this no matter what I do."
"Well, forcing yourself to be out and about certainly isn't helping," Fiyero turned, beginning to gather up your books and tuck everything away into your bag, "Come on, let's get you back to your dorm so you can get some rest."
When he took your hand, you didn't fight it, instead allowing yourself to be led along, out of the library. Outside, the cool air only seemed to worsen your chill, and Fiyero was quick to shrug off his jacket, tucking it around your shoulders.
The walk back to the dorms felt twice as long as your original journey to the library had taken, but eventually, you'd made it. Fiyero had coaxed you to lie down, and after all but forcing you to take another dose of medicine, tucked you into bed as if it were his life's mission.
You managed to catch hold of his hand as he turned to leave, whispering hoarsely, "Thank you, 'yero."
"Of course, darling," He smiled softly, leaning in to press a quick kiss to your forehead, "I'll come by and check on you in the morning, yeah?"
But the only response he got was the sound of your soft snores. Chuckling to himself, Fiyero pressed another kiss to your forehead, before backing out of your room.

Ok, that argument about Dr D (my favorite nickname for him) is cute and Iâm also thinking about Cynthia saying that they are still the same people as they've been the whole time, they're just different to each other now. Glindaâs still being a dick and Elphabaâs still rightfully defending him but itâs different now
Yeah yeah yeah
in that instance its different now because they're still arguing basically who they would before but in a much more friendly way because Elphaba gets that Glinda isn't trying to be rude she's just ignorant and Glinda gets that Elphaba isn't trying to challenge her, she's just concerned about Dr Dilly getting the respect he should. Like they're not going to just stop and accept every little thing about the other person that they wouldn't have the day before, but they like get the other person now and why they do the things they do
(And low key now that I heard this little argument and knowing how this scene plays out, and seeing the deleted scene with the two of them in sorcery class, I wonder if Glinda thinks that Elphaba didn't choose her to save the cub)
ANYWAY, this kinda also gives me an excuse to bring up something I've been wanting to, which is the fact that basically from the Ozdust until the mess in the Emerald City, you see how they act doesn't really change but you can also see how they act with each other slowly meshing. You can see this in how they dress, even. Elphaba's clothes start to change some after Popular because of course, but its still very much Elphaba's style. She doesn't suddenly look like Glinda. But then look at what Glinda is wearing in One Short Day. With the little over jacket, literally the only thing that makes it something Glinda would wear instead of Elphie is that its pink and not black. She's also being influenced by Elphaba physically but is still very much Glinda.
Which is to say, they're still the same, but they're different with each other and you can tell that it was doing both of them so much good. They're becoming better versions of who they've always been because of each other. Elphaba was loosening up and being accepted and learning to have fun. Glinda was learning how to actually be a good person and for probably the first time had a friend that didn't just want to use her for their reputation and who she could genuinely rely on. Like, what we got was the BEGINNING of their relationship and it was clearly not without little arguments and squabbles, but it was doing both of them so much good.
And so imagine how much better they both would have been if they had never gone to the Emerald City and had been given a chance to like grow and learn and actually develop their skills before they had to make the choices they made at the end of this movie. Like, I genuinely think that if they had just had some fucking time, they coulda taken this shit down together so much easier and without so much personal heartache. The tragedy is that they weren't given any fucking time

i think i mentioned this a while back but im working on an "every kuwameshi" video right (yes it's ridiculous i know somebody take them away from me) and i just need to say im so fucking sick of editing the saint beasts arc </3 pls i love that one normally but this section of the video is like. 70% silent group shots it's so bad and not fun to watch or edit and i hate it :[
#the rules are: (roughly) every frame they're on screen together and as much of their voices referring to/addressed to each other as possible#(this becomes very complicated during group conversations if you can believe it). so anyway it's TOO MUCH#im also making a much shorter highlights video concurrently bc like. that's a good idea#so you have light dose kuwameshi and EXTREME CLINICAL GRADE kuwameshi for the sickest of us#despite my complaining im almost done w great beasts. yusuke's about to fight suzaku so there's not a lotta kuwa there#truthfully im not too excited about editing the yukina rescue arc either but whatever. at least the highlights video is fun#anyway idc if it's unwatchable idc if everyone including me thinks it sucks the every kuwameshi video is gonna have every kuwameshi i can#possibly put in there from the dub's 112 episodes and im not giving up. im in too deep ok im committed#it's already like 70 mins long... houghh#i kept thinking in their voices last night it's getting genuinely ridiculous. sheesh#but i'll do it. for the bit and my pride if nothing else#also i haven't figured out if i wanna do movies/ova/eizou yet :p we'll see how i feel when i finish this in like 7 months. if it gets done#anyway this is the most insane thing i've ever done probably and if i were my tumblr mutual and i saw this i might be concerned

I may be swinging a fruit bat in a room full of hornet's nests here, but do americans know that most of the world doesn't look the way the US does? Like, specifically concerning ethnic diversity.
Coming from Europe, the fist time I went to the US, I was shocked by it, not in a negative way but in the same "wow, that's a real thing?" sort of way as western people finding out that there actually are that kind of pillar mountains in China, or americans who had never seen Fjord Horses in anything but the movie Frozen finding out that those fantastical yellow ponies are actually real.
And it wasn't some "backcountry rural hick sees Different Colour Person for the first time and dies of shock" sort of a thing. I had travelled before, and at 19 I considered myself quite worldly enough to go to a different continent I had never been on to go meet up a man from the internet, all by myself. I had been all over Europe from Iceland to St. Petersburg and from Norway to France, I have travelled. It was a slow realisation that it's turtles all the way down, that actually got me.
Being in an airport, going from one airport to another, I wasn't surprised by the sheer range of different kinds of people I saw. Airports just look like that, all over the world. Taking one flight after another, I didn't pay much attention to that, because airports just look like that. The "wait, holy shit" didn't hit me until I was already in rural Kentucky, in a fucking Wal-Mart. And if you're an american and the thought of a late teens nordic kid stepping foot into a Wal-Mart for the frist time and thinking "wow, this is actually what America looks like, all the time" makes you want to get defensive, it was by no means a negative feeling.
It was like looking into a bag of M&Ms. That's the only way I could describe it. Every single fucking person, group or family that I saw was apparently different colour and creed than the last ones who passed by. I had never seen black women with styled hair before because in Finland almost every single black woman you see is muslim and their hair is covered. I was used to the concept of large cities being more diverse, in FInland larger cities are the places where you're most likely to see people who aren't white. And I was stunned by just how colourful the population was in goddamn Beaver Dam, Kentucky.
I'm not trying to make any kind of a political point here. I'm just talking from my own experience as a Chronically Online European who has actually been abroad: City streets that look the way they do in the US are completely foreign to most people who are not american. And every time you people start complaining about why a game that's set in Poland, made by polish creators who have never been outside of Poland, only has polish people in it, they genuinely do not know what the hell you're talking about.

Dad!James Potter x Bsf!Reader ⌠1486 words
series masterlist ; main masterlist
You promised the girls just one blind dateânothing more, nothing less. At the time, it seemed like a harmless favor. But now, sitting across from your date in a dimly lit restaurant, the air thick with the aroma of their signature dish, the indistinguishable chatter of nearby diners, and the clatter of dinnerware, youâre starting to question that decision.
Connor shrugs, slicing into his steak with casual ease. âI didnât do too much today. Babysat my nephew since my brother begged me,â he says, his tone indifferent. âBut honestly, I hate babysitting his kid.â
âYou donât like kids?â You ask, doing your best to keep your voice neutral. You gingerly push your fork through another piece of pasta, trying to maintain an air of indifference.
He looks up at you, his dark curls nearly black and bouncing with the movement. âHate âem,â he says without hesitation.
You canât help but notice how much he resembles an off-brand version of James, and it frustrates you. His familiar features keep pulling your thoughts back to your best friend instead of your date. At least, thatâs the excuse youâve been clinging to for the past hour.
âOh.â You say softly, placing the food on your tongue and chewing slowly as you stare down at your plate.
âDo you have a kid or something?â You look up, a pause in your chewing as you find Conner holding his glass and watching you closely like heâs hoping youâll say no.
Your first instinct is to say yes, and you nearly cringe when you realize your mistake.
You finish chewing and swallow hard. âUh, no,â you say, shaking your head as you reach for your wine to wash down your feelings. âBut my best friend does. Single parent.â Youâre not sure why you felt the need to add that last part.
Connor leans back in his chair, nodding slowly. âWell, good for her,â he says. He isnât sure why youâre telling him this, and frankly, he doesnât care.
You sit up straighter. âHim,â you correct. Connor raises an eyebrow and not much later, he calls for the check.
James is surprised when he sees your call. He knows youâre supposed to be on a dateâLily mentioned itâand heâs been stress-cleaning his house ever since. Halfway through he gave up and turned a movie on instead.
âDarling?â He answers, âIs everything alright?â
âIt could be better,â you say with a laugh that falls short of genuine humor. âIâm not too far from your place. Could I come over? Iâm just at the Windmere.â
âYeah. Let meââ Thereâs shuffling on the line as James grabs his jacket. ââIâll meet you.â
You huff, âNo. Youâve got Henry asleep upstairs.â
âItâs five minutes.â James protests, heading to the kitchen to grab the baby monitor off the counter.
âExactly, Jamie. Iâll be there soon. I love you.â You hang up before he can respond, leaving him thoroughly disappointed. He appreciates every chance to tell you he loves you, even if itâs just as friends.
It takes you less than five minutes to get to his house, and James flings open the door before you can even knock, making you giggle.
âYou worry so much about me, Potter.â You say with a teasing smile as you push past him and kick off your heels, the click of the shoes hitting the floor echoing in the entryway.
James stands by the door, his gaze following you with a mixture of concern and affection. âOf course I do. How could I not?â He replies, his voice earnest and warm.
You shrug off your jacket, and Jamesâs gaze quickly settles on your tight black dress. The silky fabric clings to your figure and moves fluidly as you shift. James feels like heâs going to pass out from the sightâyou look incredible, and heâs painfully aware that youâve dressed up for another man.
He swallows hard, attempting to keep his voice steady. âSo, how was the date?â He finally asks, his eyes searching yours for any sign of what you might say next.
You feel a warmth rise to your cheeks, the slight embarrassment making you smile softly. âWhat gave it awayâthe dress or the girls?â you ask, your fingers lightly brushing the fabric of your dress as if to acknowledge it.
âThe girls,â he admits, a small chuckle escaping him as he glances over at the baby monitor to check on his son. âBut the dress wouldâve been a dead giveaway if they hadnât.â
You laugh, the sound light and teasing as you catch his gaze. âTheyâre awful at keeping secrets, arenât they?â
âWas your date supposed to be a secret from me?â He asks, making his way to the couch with a curious look. The cushions sink slightly as he sits down, and you follow suit, settling in beside him.
âNo, it wasnât,â you say, surprised, turning to face James with wide, sincere eyes. âBut I wasnât exactly excited about it, either.â
He leans back, eyebrows furrowed, âWhy not?â
You take a deep breath, your fingers nervously tracing the hem of your skirt. âI donât know,â you admit, voice softening as you look away. âIâve never been on a blind date before, so I didnât want to get my hopes up. And I guess... Iâm glad I didnât, in the end.â
James watches you closely, his eyes filled with curiosity. Heâs trying not to appear too eager to learn about this date of yours. âWhyâs that? Didnât go well?â
Tears well up in your eyes, and you quickly blink them away, hoping James doesnât notice. But he does. âI just... I donât know how to find someone,â you admit, your voice shaking slightly. âAnd itâs so discouraging that my friends set me up with a guy whoâs completely wrong for meâwell, except for his looks.â
James opens his mouth to ask what the guy looked like but holds back, sensing that this isnât the moment.
âWhat does that say about my dating life?â You continue, a tear slipping down your cheek. âIf my best friends donât even know what I like in a guy?â You sniffle, your fingers brushing absentmindedly over your lips as you stare down at Henryâs toys scattered across the floor.. âI think I need to put myself out there more. Go on as many dates as possible. I need to meet someone.â
James feels like heâs going to be sick. Heâs floundering for a way to tell you that, no, you absolutely shouldnât. But how can he say that?
He hesitates, searching for the right words. âIs there a rush? To find someone, I mean.â
You shrug, your gaze still fixed on the floor. âI know weâre both young, but I feel like if I donât find someone now, itâll only get harder down the line.â
âOh.â He responds softly, the weight of your words hanging in the air.
A heavy silence settles between you, both lost in your thoughts, until you break it with a shaky voice. âIs there something wrong with me?â
James snaps his head up, startled. âWhat? No! Why would you even think that?â He asks, incredulous, his tone laced with concern.
âIâve been asked out three times in my life,â you say quietly, your voice trembling. âAnd two of those were back in school. Is there something wrong with me?â Finally, you turn to look at him, your eyes glistening with unshed tears clinging to your lashes.
âDarling, no,â James insists, his voice filled with genuine concern as he scoots closer to you on the couch. He wraps his arm around you, pulling you into a comforting embrace. âYouâre perfect.â
You sniffle, managing a small, sad smile. âDonât lie to me, Jamie,â you say, trying to keep it light, but he can hear the trace of hurt beneath your words.
âI would never,â he murmurs, placing a tender kiss on your head as you settle back into his chest. The steady rhythm of his heartbeat soothes you. âYouâre everything anyone could ever wantâan absolute dream girl.â
âStop it.â You whisper half-heartedly, though a part of you wants to believe him.
âIâm serious,â he insists, his voice firm yet gentle. âWhoever you end up with will be incredibly lucky.â
A comfortable silence falls between you, the room filled only with the soft sounds of your breathing.
âIâll help you look for dates, if you want.â He offers suddenly, the words slipping out before he can stop them. Regret washes over him immediately; he wishes he could take them back. The mere thought of you on a date with another guy twists his stomach into knots, but actually helping you choose someone else? Brutal.
You tilt your head to press a kiss gently to his jaw. Your voice is a soft whisper, filled with gratitude, âThank you, Jamie.â
He doesnât know how much longer he can do this.

This Christmas
Summary: LN4 + âThereâs no way Iâm letting you spend Christmas alone.â
Song: Last Christmas by Wham!
Authorâs note: Just Lando being the best boyfriend to his girl. Well done to Lando and McLaren for getting the constructor championships! Please like, reblog and share this! đ«¶
Word count: 5.8k
MASTERLIST - F1
Lando wrapped an arm around you, pulling you closer as the credits rolled on the movie you had been watching. The couch was warm, the atmosphere cozy, and even the remnants of the loud celebration from earlier felt distant.
It had been an incredible season for Lando and his team. They were the constructors' champions now, a victory that had led to a night of wild celebrations with friends and colleagues.
And here he was, still buzzing with excitement, while you tried to suppress a yawn.
âSo, what should we do over Christmas?â Lando asked, breaking the silence. His voice was laced with anticipation, as if he had been savoring the question throughout the night.
You shifted slightly, your throat still sore from cheering too much, and murmured, âI thought I should stay over at my apartment and study for my exams.â
It was a practical thought, one conditioned by years of solitary holiday experiences. A part of you felt guilty even thinking of the studying when there was so much joy around.
âStudying? On Christmas?â Landoâs brows furrowed, and his expression turned into a dramatic pout. âSo weâre staying over at yours then?â
You blinked in confusion, your heart skipping a beat at the thought. âArenât we having Christmas separately?â
Memories of past boyfriends flooded your mind, each one marked by their own traditions and expectations that rarely included you.
âGod, I hate your exes so much,â Lando muttered, his tone shifting from playful to serious in a heartbeat. âYouâve never had a good boyfriend, have you?â
You turned to him, meeting his gaze. His eyes were sincere, a vibrant green that seemed to pull you in.
âIâve never spent a holiday like that with anyone before,â you admitted quietly, biting your lip. âThey always had their own family commitments.â
Lando shook his head, clearly frustrated. âThatâs not how itâs supposed to be. Christmas is about spending time with people you care about. Itâs about making memories together.â
You couldnât help but laugh lightly, shaking your head. âAnd what about your family? Donât you want to spend it with them?â
He waved his hand dismissively. âIâll see them on Christmas Eve. But Christmas Day? It should be with you. I want you with me. We can have breakfast together, open gifts, maybe even start our own traditions if you want.â
He nudged closer, his brow furrowed in genuine concern. âYou deserve that kind of love and happiness.â
His words warmed you, sparking something inside you that had been buried for so long. âYou really mean that?â you asked, searching his eyes for any hint of doubt.
âAbsolutely,â he replied, his voice steady and unwavering. âI want to make you feel everything your exes never made you feel. You deserve to feel cherished and loved, especially during the holidays.â
You couldnât help but smile at his sincerity. âOkay, letâs do it,â you said softly. âIt sounds perfect.â
As the realization settled in, a jolt of excitement coursed through you. This would be your first holiday together, the first time you could allow yourself to build a beautiful memory rather than keeping your emotional barriers up.
âAwesome! What do you want to do? Should we decorate? I know Iâm not the best when it comes to that kind of thing, but I can try,â He grinned broadly, his enthusiasm infectious.
You playfully rolled your eyes, imagining Lando with glittery decorations and a lopsided Christmas tree. âOnly if you promise to keep it from turning into a competition,â you laughed, knowing his competitive spirit all too well.
âI canât promise that,â he replied with mock seriousness. âBut how about this? We can make it a team effort. I can provide the muscle, and you can provide the creativity. Weâll create a beautiful Christmas masterpiece together.â
âOkay, deal,â you agreed, captivated by the spark in his eyes. âAnd maybe we can even bake some cookies or something?â
âBaking? You mean I get to eat too? Count me in! But, full disclosure, I might need your guidance in the baking department,â Lando chuckled. âLast time I made cookies, they turned into rock-hard, unidentifiable shapes.â
You laughed, picturing Lando in an apron, mixing flour and sugar, and it filled you with warmth. âWeâll have to do some research then. Itâs not Christmas without cookies.â
âGreat! This is going to be the best holiday ever!â He exclaimed, squeezing you tighter.
Resting your head against his shoulder, you felt the warmth of his body, the rhythm of his heartbeat matching your own.
There was a sense of safety in his embrace, something you had longed for but never quite attained in your past relationships.
âLando?â you said softly, your voice barely above a whisper.
âYeah?â
âThank you for wanting to include me,â you replied, your heart full. âYou really do make me feel special.â
He leaned down, brushing his lips against your forehead, his breath warm against your skin.
âThatâs all I want for you, always. You deserve to feel special; Iâll show you how great it can be.â
In that moment, you both silently agreed: This Christmas would be different. It would be filled with joy, laughter, and the kind of love that made holidays unforgettable.
And as Lando pulled you closer and promised to make memories with you, you knew in your heart there was nowhere else youâd rather be. . . . .
The gentle rays of sunlight filtered through the sheer curtains, casting a soft golden hue across the cozy bedroom. You stirred beneath the plush duvet, feeling the warmth radiating from your partner beside you.
A lingering smell of something sweet and buttery wafted through the air, pulling you from the realm of dreams.
You blinked a few times, taking in the sight of Lando, still half-asleep, propped up with a tray on his lap. He smiled widely as he noticed you waking up, his green eyes sparkling with excitement.
âGood morning, sleepyhead,â he said, trying to suppress a yawn but failing miserably. âI hope youâre ready for the best Christmas breakfast ever!â
You rubbed your eyes to clear the sleep, instantly caught up in the delicious array of treats laid out on the trayâfluffy pancakes drizzled with maple syrup, crispy bacon, perfectly scrambled eggs, and a couple of steaming cups of cocoa topped with whipped cream.
It felt like a scene from a holiday movie.
âThis⊠this is amazing,â you said, genuinely touched. âYou didnât have to do all of this!â
A teasing smile crept across his face. âOh, but I wanted to. Itâs Christmas, after all! Plus, you deserve it. You work so hard.â
As you propped yourself up on your elbows, he leaned over and pressed a soft kiss to your lips. You felt warmth surge through your body at the contact, and suddenly, the holiday spirit felt even more alive.
âI canât believe youâre actually mine,â you muttered against his lips, still a little dazed by the sudden sweetness of it all. The very thought still felt surreal sometimes.
He chuckled, pulling back slightly, amusement dancing in his features. âAs much as I love you, please let me kiss you in peace. Iâve worked hard for this breakfast, and I donât want to risk it getting cold over kiss-tastic moments.â
You pouted playfully and attempted to frown, but it was impossible with Landoâs infectious grin in front of you. âFine, but only because you made me breakfast.â You settled back against the pillows, eyeing him.
âLetâs dig in, shall we?â He lifted the syrup with a flourish, the motion exaggerated as if presenting a trophy. âThe pancakes are the star of the show today, after all.â
You laughed, anticipation bubbling in your chest as he handed you a fork. âFeast your eyes, babe! And your stomach!â
As the two of you savored the delicious meal together, exchanging bites and laughter, the room was filled with a sense of comfort that felt right at home.
Lando would occasionally steal little tastes from your plate, and the playful banter arose naturallyâmaking silly sound effects when he took a huge bite or pretending to be too full for dessert after just one pancake.
âIâm saving room for the pie later!â he said dramatically, clutching his stomach.
You rolled your eyes but couldnât help but smile. âAre you actually planning to eat pie after this?â
âOf course! Christmas is all about indulging, isnât it?â He leaned closer, his eyes mischievous. âBesides, I have to make sure I can out-eat you. Itâs a matter of pride, you know?â
âPride? Since when has food turned into a competition?â you replied, laughing.
âEver since I met you,â he shot back, leaning in for another quick kiss before you could protest. âYou bring out the competitive spirit in me!â
The banter continued endlessly as you finished your breakfast together, the moments effortlessly turning into cherished memories. After breakfast, he proposed the plan of opening gifts.
âI canât wait for you to see what I got you!â Lando said excitedly, his childlike enthusiasm palpable.
âOh, really? Youâre that confident in your choice?â You teased, arching an eyebrow playfully. âYou didnât just get me socks or something, did you?â
âHey now, socks can be super thoughtful, but no. I went all out. Youâll love it,â he said, his eyes twinkling with a secret.
âOkay, Mr. Mysterious. Letâs see then!â You hopped out of bed, excitement mixing with a hint of curiosity.
Lando jumped up too, leading you to the small pile of gifts artfully arranged under the twinkling Christmas tree, adorned with ornaments that sparkled like stars in the early morning light.
After a whirlwind of tearing through wrapping paper, playful giggles filling the room with joy, you finally held the gift in your handsâthe one that made your heart race a little faster.
You unraveled it carefully to reveal a delicate silver necklace. It glimmered in the light, a tiny star shaped charm dangling gracefully from it.
âItâs beautiful,â you gasped, turning to him with wide eyes. âLando, this is perfect!â
âI remember you saying how much you loved stargazing,â he grinned, standing behind you as you clasped it around your neck. âSo I figured, why not wear a little piece of the night sky with you everywhere you go?â
Tears brimmed in your eyes at the thoughtfulness of his gift. âYouâre seriously the best boyfriend,â you said, your voice trembling slightly as you turned to face him.
âAnd you make me the happiest guy ever,â he replied softly, wrapping his arms around you. âNow, about that pieâŠâ
âNot until you give me a kiss!â you laughed, finally slipping back into the moment's warmth and charm.
You tugged him closer, pulling him in for a series of sloppy, heated kisses. You couldnât help but tug a bit too hard on his shirt, the thrill of the moment sending jolts of energy between you.
âOkay, we have to stop, we canât be kissing the whole time,â you said breathlessly, pulling back slowly to catch your breath.
â...nooooooo!â Lando exclaimed, chasing your lips. His eyes sparkled with mischief, and his laughter echoed in the night air.
You giggled, enjoying the playful energy that surrounded you both. âLando,â you began, a teasing glint in your eye, âwe canât just keep making out. What about the pie?â
He raised an eyebrow, the corners of his mouth lifting into a boyish grin. âThe pie will wait. Whatâs more important? Dessert or a moment with you?â
Your cheeks flushed, and you felt a wave of shyness wash over you. âYou know itâs not just about the pie...â you said softly, looking down at the ground.
But the warmth in your chest told you how truly valued you felt in that moment.
He took a step closer, his gaze locked onto yours. âI know, but moments like these? With you? Theyâre rare. And I want to savor every second,â he said, his voice filled with sincerity.
You smiled, feeling your heart swell even more. âOkay, maybe just one more kiss⊠and then we can eat the pie,â you relented, your voice laced with laughter.
âOnly one?â he asked, feigning disappointment. âWhat kind of boyfriend do you think I am?â
You couldnât help but chuckle at his playful demeanor. âThe type that can wait fifteen minutes for pie,â you teased, leaning in for another kiss.
His lips were warm and inviting, and you melted against him before reluctantly pulling away.
âAlright, you win. Letâs have some pie,â Lando said, finally stepping back towards the kitchen.
As he reached for the pie wrapped in a cloth, you couldnât help but appreciate how warm, intimate, and genuine the morning felt.
After cutting a generous slice and serving it on two plates, Lando nudged you playfully. âA taste of sweetness to go along with the sweetness of the moment. What do you think, my lady?â
You laughed, taking a bite. âPerfect! But you know, this still doesnât compare to the sweetness I get from you.â
With a grin, Lando took a bite of his own slice. âToo mushy?â he chuckled, wiping a bit of whipped cream from his lip.
âNever,â you said with a soft smile, and before you knew it, you were both in a playful food fightâlaughter ringing through the night as you tried to dab each other with creamy spoons.
Lando leaned closer, lowering his voice dramatically. âWell, get ready for a full day of mushiness. This is going to be the best Christmas.â
âBesides⊠youâve already made this Christmas special just by being here with me,â he said, his tone unexpectedly sincere. âI wanted to create memories that we can look back on and laugh about for years.â
Your heart fluttered at his words. âYou know, youâre really good at this mushiness,â you said, pretending to contemplate. âAre you sure youâre not hiding a secret poet inside of you?â
âOnly if you promise to be my muse," he shot back, puffing out his chest theatrically.
The crisp winter air whipped through the city, curling flakes of snow into delicate spirals as they drifted lazily from the sky.
Lando had suggested a day out in the snow, a break from the mundane, and while he had every confidence in the warmth of layering up, you were still determined to make a splash and resolve the winter blues.
In the mirror, you surveyed the finished look; a long, teal woolen dress that hugged your figure gracefully and flowed just above your knees.
It had a deep V neckline, trimmed in a subtle silver, but what made it really stand out was the shimmering overlayâit sparkled just enough in the light, suggesting a hint of magic.
The back had a modest plunge, which you hoped would garner Landoâs approval while still keeping the winter chill at bay. You had paired it with thick, knitted tights, soft leather knee-high boots and the necklace Lando had just got me, intertwining style with practicality.
As for layers beneath? A snug thermal top kept you warm, unseen beneath the gorgeous fabric.
You stepped out of the bedroom, feeling like a princess bound for an ice kingdom. âAre you ready?â Lando called from the living room, his tone bright with anticipation.
You paused, taking a moment to admire his grin before approaching him. His casual outfit, a thick navy overshirt paired with dark jeans, looked effortlessly stylish.
But as you turned to present your dress, you noticed his expression change.
He fell silent, eyes wide as he surveyed your ensemble. âWow,â he finally managed, his breath catching in his throat. âYou lookïżœïżœïżœ stunning.â
âDo you like it?â You twirled playfully, causing the silvery accents of your dress to shimmer in the soft light.
Landoâs cheeks flushed a light pink as he tried to muster a composed response. âItâs beautiful. Really. ButâŠâ his brow furrowed slightly as he took in the lack of snug winter wear. âAre you going to be warm enough?â
You smirked, feigning indignation. âI have layers, you know. Underneath. And these tights are pretty thick. Plus, itâs all about the confidence, right?â
He chuckled, a warm sound that filled the room. âConfidence is great, but youâll lose that confidence pretty fast if you end up freezing out there. I refuse to let you turn into a popsicle.â
âLando,â you laughed, shaking your head. âI promise I am layered up. Itâs a winter wonderland, not the Arctic. Iâll be okay!â
Yet there was something in his eyes, a protective flicker that made you warm in a different way. He stepped closer, brushing a lock of hair behind your ear.
âPlease promise youâll be careful. Iâm literally all about the thrill of winter, but Iâd hate to see you uncomfortable.â
You sighed, your gaze softening. âAlright, I promise Iâll stay warm,â you said, your voice teasing. âBut only if you promise to enjoy this day with me without fussing over my dress!â
Lando rolled his eyes, his shoulders relaxing. âDeal. But Iâm still going to make sure you stay warm.â He extended his hand toward you, a silent invitation filled with assurance.
Taking it, you felt an electric pulse of warmth flow through you, igniting excitement for the adventures ahead. âSo, what is the plan for our day in the snow, Commander?â you inquired playfully.
âI'll keep it a secret for now,â he declared, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
âOkay, only if you promise to have food ready,â you chimed in, raising an eyebrow challengingly.
As you headed outside, laughter bubbling between you, the winter air wrapped around you like a cozy, albeit brisk, embrace. The world was a tapestry of white, and every step was punctuated by the delightful crunch of snow beneath your boots.
The air was crisp, filled with the soft scent of pine and cinnamon wafting from nearby holiday markets. You and Lando strolled down the bustling street, twinkling lights above illuminating your path in a kaleidoscope of colors.
The excitement was palpable, but you were still in the dark about where exactly he was leading you.
âSeriously, Lando, where are we going?â you asked, glancing up at him with a mix of curiosity and playful suspicion. His signature grin widened, revealing a hint of mischief in his eyes.
âPatience, my dear!â he replied dramatically, throwing an arm over your shoulder as he pulled you closer. âGood things come to those who wait.â
You rolled your eyes but couldnât suppress a smile. Lando had a talent for making even the simplest outings feel like an adventure.
âAre we going to see some kind of massive display of lights?â you guessed, your eyes sparkling at the thought. âOr are you just dragging me to some random holiday market?â
âNot just any holiday market,â he corrected, feigning seriousness. âThis is the holiday lights tour of the season.â
âOh, really?â you said, raising an eyebrow. âAnd how did you know Iâd like that?â
âLetâs just say I have my sources,â he winked, pulling you into a crosswalk as the light turned green.
As much as you wanted to prod him for more details, the mystery was building a sense of anticipation that was hard to resist.
After a few more blocks of chatting and light-hearted teasing, Lando led you toward a charming park you had never seen before. Towering trees draped in white lights sparkled like stars, and colorful displays lined the pathways.
The sight was breathtaking; every glimmering ornament, twinkling string, and spirited figure crafted a wonderland of joy.
âWow,â you breathed, taking it all in. âThis is incredible! How did you find this place?â
âI have my ways," he repeated with a laugh, leading you deeper into the enchanting landscape. âBut I know you appreciate the beauty of the season, and I wanted to share this with you.â
You shot him a grateful look, your heart warming. âThank you, Lando. This is really amazing. The lights are so beautiful.â
As you meandered through the park, laughter and joy enveloped the atmosphere.
Children ran around, marveling at the displays, while couples strolled hand in hand, immersed in romance. The soft sounds of holiday music floated through the air, weaving together the spirit of the season.
âLook,â you pointed excitedly. âThey have a giant snow globe! Can we go inside?â
Lando chuckled, his eyes twinkling. âIf thatâs what you want, then of course!â He took your hand in his, guiding you toward the globe adorned with shimmering snowflakes.
Inside the massive globe was a scene of animated holiday cheer, complete with faux snow falling gently from above and cheerful carolers. You both stepped inside, and for a moment, time felt suspended.
âThis is ridiculous,â you laughed, playfully swatting some of the fake snow away from your face. âBut also kind of magical.â
âJust like this evening,â he said, glancing at you, moments of quietude settling into the laughter. âYou bring the magic, you know.â
You felt your cheeks warm as you met his gaze. âStop it, youâre making me blush.â
âGood!â He grinned, relishing the moment. âWatch your step, itâs slippery in here.â
Just then, Lando pretended to slip, theatrically flailing his arms before catching himself, and you couldnât help but break into hysterical laughter.
Once you exited the snow globe, you strolled back onto the path, your fingers still linked. The sparkles from the lights danced around you, and there was an indescribable warmth in your heart.
âLando,â you said after a moment, âI really appreciate you planning this. Itâs exactly what I needed.â
âGlad youâre enjoying it. Honestly, I wasnât sure how youâd feel about it,â he confessed. âI just wanted to create some holiday magic for us, you know?â
âYeah, I do,â you whispered, your heart swelling with affection.
As you walked, you found yourself lost in thought, the atmosphere so serene you almost wished you could pause time. The lights twinkled brighter above, like stars in a perfectly clear sky.
âI heard they have hot cocoa near the entrance,â Lando mentioned, breaking your reverie. âHow about warming up with some?â
âThat sounds perfect,â you replied enthusiastically. After all that magic, a cozy drink felt like the ideal way to cap off the evening.
The two of you shared laughter and hot cocoa, the warmth of the drinks a comforting companion to the aesthetic beauty surrounding you.
As you sipped and recounted funny stories from the past, the world around you faded, leaving just the two of you amidst the holiday splendor.
âWhat do you wish for this holiday season?â Lando asked suddenly, his eyes casting a thoughtful glance toward a nearby light display.
You considered it for a moment, glancing at him. âHonestly? I wish for moments like these to never end.â
He turned to you, a soft smile gracing his lips. âMe too."
And as the night wore on, surrounded by the magic of the lights and the warmth of shared laughter, you couldnât help but feel that perhaps this holiday season held even more possibilities than you had ventured to imagine.
As the evening sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of lavender and deep orange, you and Lando returned home from a day of holiday festivities.
The air was rich with the sweet scent of pine from the Christmas tree you had picked together earlier that day. Lando opened the door to your apartment, letting you walk in first.
âLadies first,â he said with a playful bow, a grin spreading across his face.
âChivalry isnât dead!â you laughed, glancing back at him with a smirk.
He followed you inside, shutting the door behind him. The warmth of the room enveloped you, contrasting sharply with the chill outside.
You sighed contentedly, taking in the decorations, the twinkling lights casting a soft glow throughout the living room, and the faint sound of carols playing in the background.
âAlright, movie time!â you declared, rushing to the couch. The soft throw blankets piled up beckoned you to snuggle in.
Lando plopped down beside you, the couch suddenly feeling smaller. He wrapped an arm around your shoulders, pulling you closer to him, his warmth radiating against your side.
âWhatâs our movie choice tonight?â he asked, scrolling through the streaming service with a look of concentration.
âHow about one of the classics? Maybe âItâs a Wonderful Lifeâ?â you suggested, settling into his embrace.
Lando nodded, a smile creeping onto his face. âPerfect choice. It never gets old, right?â
You grinned back, tucking your head against his chest. âExactly. You can always count on a good old Christmas movie to set the mood.â
As the opening credits rolled, Lando absentmindedly began drawing circles and patterns on your back, his fingers tracing a gentle rhythm.
It felt soothing, calming your racing thoughts from the day's excitement. You closed your eyes and let out a small sigh of contentment.
âDo you ever think about how different our lives would be if we didnât meet?â you mused softly, breaking the comfortable silence.
Lando paused in his drawing, his voice thoughtful. âSometimes. I canât imagine it, to be honest. Youâre like my favorite Christmas gift,â he teased lightly, earning a playful elbow to his ribs.
âYouâre ridiculous,â you chuckled, nudging him playfully. But you could see the sincerity in his eyes. âBut really, Iâm so grateful for you. You make everything better.â
He smiled softly, leaning down to press a kiss to your forehead. âI feel the same way. Youâve brought so much joy into my life.â
The movie played on, but your focus shifted more toward Lando, feeling the warmth of his body protectively enveloping you. It was as if the world outside faded away, leaving just the two of you wrapped in this cozy cocoon.
After a few moments, you whispered, âYou know, you hold me like youâre trying to shield me from the world.â
He chuckled, squeezing you a little tighter. âIsnât that my job? To keep you safe and sound?â His voice was teasing, yet there was a sincerity beneath the playful facade.
âOkay, but are you planning to fight off any villains if they come bursting in here?â you joked, tilting your head to look up at him.
âAb-so-lutely. Iâll grab the nearest snow globe and defend us,â he said, a mock-serious expression on his face. âThatâll show them!â
You laughed, imagining the scene. âOh no, whatever will I do without my brave knight?â
âDonât worry, Princess. Iâve got you,â he declared dramatically, his serious tone breaking into a laughter.
With the movieâs plot winding through timeless moments and familiar faces, you found yourself lost in the feeling of Landoâs fingers tracing gentle patterns across your back, each stroke lulling you into a serene state of mind.
As the film reached its climax, his embrace felt like an anchor in a world of chaos, as though nothing could ever shake you both from this moment.
The room was dimly lit, save for the soft glow of the fairy lights wrapped around the bedpost. You nestled comfortably on Lando's lap, the rhythmic rise and fall of his chest acting as a lullaby.
Just as you were drifting into sleep, you felt a gentle hand brush through your hair.
"Right, it's time for my last surprise," Lando said, his voice playful but urgent.
You stirred slightly, opening your eyes to meet his cheeky grin. "What is it?" you asked, the drowsiness still thick in your voice.
"Just follow me," he replied, standing up slowly to let you slip off his lap. Your heart raced with curiosity as he took your hand, guiding you upstairs.
The two of you ascended the staircase, Lando's excitement palpable. You could feel a peculiar thrill in the air, something almost electric. When you reached the balcony, he turned to face you, a mischievous smile dancing on his lips.
"Okay, close your eyes," he instructed softly.
You complied, trying to suppress your giddiness. Lando covered your eyes with his warm hands, then whispered, "Okay, 3... 2... 1... look!"
With a light laugh, you opened your eyes, and your breath caught in your throat at the sight before you. The moon hung majestically in the sky, brightening the velvety darkness. The stars twinkled like a million tiny diamonds scattered across an ebony canvas, and everything felt almost surreal.
âLandoâŠâ you murmured, your hand instinctively reaching to touch the star necklace he had given you, one that had been a symbol of many cherished moments you both had shared.
âI had to wait for the exact time that it would look like this,â he said excitedly, stepping closer. âThe moon is at its peak, and the sky is clear. Itâs perfect!â
You gazed at him, a mix of awe and love swelling in your heart. âThis is incredible. How did you know?â
âIâve been watching the weather and the moon phases all week,â he confessed, grinning sheepishly. âI wanted tonight to be specialâjust for us.â
You wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him down to you, planting a tender kiss on his lips. âI love you so much,â you whispered against his mouth, filled with a warmth that radiated from deep within.
Lando held you tighter, the melody of the night wrapping around you like a soft blanket. âI love you too. More than you know,â he breathed, resting his forehead against yours.
The two of you stood in a comfortable silence, mesmerized by the night sky.
Occasionally, you would point out a particularly bright star, and Lando would respond with a playful commentary about its imaginary backstoryâas if each one had its own history worth telling.
âLook at that one!â you exclaimed, pointing to a star that seemed to shimmer more brightly than the others. âWhat do you think its story is?â
Lando squinted up at it, deep in thought. âThat star is called Stella,â he began, adopting a theatrical tone. âShe was once a lonely star shining in the void of space, but one day she caught the eye of a cometâand now, they race around the galaxy together, leaving trails of stardust behind.â
You couldnât help but giggle at his impromptu storytelling. âAnd what about us?â you asked, leaning into him as the cool breeze brushed against your skin.
He looked down at you, his eyes sparkling with mischief. âWell, I suppose weâre like two stars in the same galaxy, always pulled towards each other, destined to shine together.â
You smiled, heart swelling with happiness. âI like that. Itâs poetic.â
âIâm glad you think so. I just wanted to create a moment that we could cherish forever, something that would remind us of how special our time together is,â Lando said, his voice softening.
As you gazed back up at the night sky, you imagined the two of you, forever intertwined in the cosmos, like the very stars above you. The calmness of the moment enveloped you, and you felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude wash over you.
âThank you for this, Lando,â you said, your voice barely above a whisper. âYou always know how to make me feel loved.â
âIâd do anything for you,â he replied earnestly, his fingers intertwining with yours. âEvery day with you is a new adventure, and I canât imagine a better way to spend my life.â
The two of you leaned back against the railing of the balcony, watching as the stars twinkled and danced across the night sky. You found yourself lost in thoughts of the future, of all the moments yet to come, under the same moonlight.
âPromise me something?â you suddenly asked, your voice taking on a more serious tone.
âAnything,â Lando answered, turning to face you fully.
âNo matter where life takes us, or what challenges we face, letâs always find our way back to nights like this. Together.â
His smile was warm and reassuring. âI promise. Weâll always find our way back to each other, no matter what. Always.â
âMerry Christmas, Lando,â you whispered, the words slipping through your lips like a long-held secret finally shared.
âMerry Christmas,â he replied, and in that moment, you knew that the world could change, and perhaps it would, but whatever came, youâd made a promise together under the stars.
With that vow hanging in the air between you, you both returned your gaze toward the sky.
As the night deepened, the stars continued to blink high above, bright and steady, just like the love that blossomed between you. . . .

you come home after a girlâs night out to find charles lying on your bed, arms resting behind his head as he watches an action movie in your room.
âwhat are you doing here?â you ask, amused.
you leave your heels by the foot of the bed, walking to your vanity to take your necklace and earrings off.
charles smiles at you through the mirror. âwaiting for you.â he says it so casually, so genuine, like he does not have somewhere to be, at the other side of the world, early in the morning.
âi missed you,â you feel shy admitting it, you saw him just a couple of hours ago, before leaving for the club with your friends. itâs not like you canât live without him or max, but they have so little free time that all you want to do when theyâre home is cuddle together and never leave your home. but your friends begged you to go with them and as much as you wanted to stay with your boyfriends, you also wanted to see your girl friends. âthey played that song you like so much. it made me missed you even more.â
charles coos at you, forgetting the movie to, instead, make grabby hands. it makes you giggle but you are immediately sprinting to the bed, climbing carefully onto his lap.
âand what about you?â you play with the collar of his shirt, looking at your boyfriend from beneath your eyelashes. âdid you miss me?â
âwe missed you very much.â max enters the room making you smile even brighter. he walks to the side of the bed where both of you are and places a cup of tea on your nightstand. you pout at him and he leans to give you a little peck on the lips. âdid you have fun? how much did you drink?â thereâs genuine concern in his voice that leaves you flustered, feeling small and taken care of.
âoh, just two gin and tonicâs, and iâm definitely sober if that is what youâre asking.â max nods, smile on his face as he retrieves a make-up remover from your vanity. âand it was such a fun night!â you clap your hands, ranting about how one of your friends kept flirting with the bartender even when he said he was gay and definitely not interested.
âand what about you?â charles asks, playing with a strand of your hair. âdid someone try to make a move with you?â
âas if someone would dare to try something.â that earns you a disapproving glare from your blonde-haired boyfriend. âeveryone in monaco knows who i belong to.â you touch the tip of maxâs nose with the pad of your finger. âonly you two.â
max climbs on the bed next to charles, and the latter wraps his free arm, the one not on your waist, around max shoulders, hugging him tightly against his side.
you let max wipe the make-up off your face as they listen to you describe everything that happened that night, even the moment a group of girls approached you to say how jealous they were that you are dating two of the most hot and talented (you added that, they didnât actually say it but you like to point it out every time you can) drivers on the grid.
âi like to know i make girls jealous.â you say without an ounce of regret, looking between your boyfriends. why would you feel ashamed, right? âand i like to know iâm the only one to have you both.â

@callonpeevesie
THANK YOU.
Honestly, no contempt for movie-only fans, but this guys can be... pretty funny with about zero understanding of the book characters besides what they read once in a TikTok comments. Movie is so different from the books that they're just NOT comparable, when you don't want do point out the difference or/and make a joke. Really, Howell Jenkins is not your "that's my girl" perfect fantasy guy with an American accent, just...have him and leave peacefully, no one tries to take him from your bare hands. Movie is beatiful and charming as it's own story. You can love the story without trying to justify it in book-only (or mixed) fans, trust me, we're good/nonneg.
(Sometimes I'm also sure that the guys who says so either didn't read the book or have read it once five years ago and also the same guys who try to point out Howl's "red flags" like the worst person in the world. Just. Reread it. Pls. Not everyone has to be perfect, in fact, no one is perfect. That's not that big of a deal, that's what good about book Howl)
YES THEY DID MAKE HER A VILLAIN IN THE MOVIE. Moreover, they mixed her and Ben (and partly the King) into a character called ms. Suliman, wich is...what was wrong with ms. Pentstemmon? You have already made her into an old Howl's mentor, that's basically her just evil. I know this name is difficult to pronounse, but let's be honest â we can all just call her "ms. P" and move on. And also yeah, Howl loves ms. Pentstemmon as a mentor (and maybe even partly mother-like) figure, she was the first person to meet him in the new world, the only person to get his "painfully ordinary name" right AND she is the one who gave him everything he wanted to learn. He would make her a hero, but def not a villain.
OH YES. Everytime I heard this part of the quote I thought it was about her "seeing" the story and narrating it this way â after all, it's her POV written there, but If they mean that it's how she would tell the story, like, to someone else? Using fist person pronoun? God, no. She was already a unreliable narrator, putting as much of her personal thoughts in a third person POV, trying not to give readers any info about her feelings for Howl. They think If she had a chance to actually tell she wouldn't be even more unreliable??? They think she would sit there and sincerely say:
"Yeah I accidentally charmed Howl's suit to attract ladies and though it worked really really good on me but turned out he was just hot and I was so angry because of it, that I threw a bucket of weed killer onto his head and almost unalived him..."
HOWL is the one who's gonna tell that, in every possible detail, lovingly and mockingly using Alice in the Wonderland references no one understands. Sophie is the one who's gonna avoid it at all costs. She would be, in fact, so pissed because of her long denial phase I doubt she would touch on this at all, resulting people asking where all this live story Howl was talking about at.
She would add that he gave him a flower field and she appreciated it as much as she could with all his "horrible ways" (because don't tell me she wouldn't use the opportunity to of her retelling mock Howl as much as he mocked her in his, describing all the layers of dust on his bed and repeatedly noting that he couldn't play the guitar.), but would not mention that her first thought of "apprecation" was "This flowers smells like Howl right from the bathroom)
(Probably the "annoyed but loving" expression was the main thing to convince the audience that she in fact DOES really loves this horrible man, and there was a love story. Like she tries but she can't hide it. The main problem of Sophie throughout the book is that she really down bad for this man and not like something can change it. Is she gonna tell about it in all the details? NO LOL.)
She is the girlfailure and girlboss. Howl, in contrast, is just a failure. And a loser. Don't let him trick you with his cool wizard carer, it doesn't change anything. Too bad she loves him. Too bad they actually do suit each other in their flawed insanity.
But yes. The book is how Sophie narrates the story, def not how she would tell it. This is two really different things.
Don't think I'm finished on "Movie is how Howl tells the story..." statement. Because it's fundamentally wrong.
Look, I get it when you want to say that the hmc movie is its own story with an original plot â because it is, mostly, the only things that remain are the concept and some hits given here in there that lead to nowhere. However, movie is absolutely not how Howl would tell the story. It is, in fact, pretty opposite of it in some aspects.
Even when talking about Howl self-image, wich started it all, I think people keep forgetting how self-aware Howl can be. He knows he's vain and cowardly and an absolute loser and he doesn't want to be respectful whatsoever. He even tells Michael that, quote
âI know Iâm slapdash, but there's no need for you to copy me"
And the whole ending sequence is just him being honest with Sophie and telling her the truth about who he thinks he is and his weaknesses. He pretty much states all he flanks are weak â he knows it, and it is true. Would he try to make it all more romantic and cool and so he would make himself seem less of a loser? Yes, absolutely. Would he make it by erasing absolutely everything about his character being unique and standing out turning it into a whole-blown "love peace not war" story? Absolutely not.
He may not mention him getting with another women every week, that's true. But he wouldn't leave out his stupidly-"romantic" nature while he was doing so, and he would not leave the guitar courting stuff out just because it's connected to it, gosh, he thinks it's cool.
Yes, he is quoting Shakespeare and John Dohn and he is poetic and sometimes overly romantise thinks to make it more dramatic, but that does not mean he's gonna achieve it by leaving out all his shenanigans whatsoever. Also, note, he does not want to be seen perfect by everyone, just by ones he thinks is important to him or his life or his stupid decisions. After all, he was the one who started the rumors about Wizard Howl being a heart-eater. He was the one to ask Sophie to blaken his name â to show him in the worst light possible.
"He wants to be seen perfect by everyone" is such a... mediocre analysis of his character, honestly, it might work with appearance, in Ingary at least, but personality wise. He want to be seen so only when it benefits him and people he thinks highly of. When he thinks that too high thoughts about him would bring him into trouble, give him unwanted attention or make him actually works, that his last wish ever. That's the whole subplot of the book â Howl does not want to be seen too good by the king because it's gonna lead him somewhere he doesn't want to be. Hell, he even denies doing something just because he wanted to help, saying that he "did it for money".
(it doesn't mean he wants people to see him as someone great, it's just that's pretty selective and his "perfect" persona is as fake as his "horrible wizard one)
Movie!Howl might be Book!Howl propaganda, but definitely not ALL of him. Some parts, some scenes, some moments might work (and that's actually the most accurate thing out of all statement), but I don't personally think this is the EXACT way Howl would tell his character.
Him telling about Sophie is the whole other thing. He LOVES Sophie for how crazy and stubborn and nosy and moody she can be â there's NO WAY he's not gonna give weed killer a half an hour or screen time just to talk about what haos of a woman his wife is. Yes, some of them might not fit into his "perfect picture" but he loves Sophie, and he loves what she does with this "perfect picture" and he's gonna give another hour on them bantering just because Sophie is being Sophie. He's NOT gonna leave out everything he loves about Sophie making her kind-hearted quiet protagonist with one mean line, the ones she was supposed to be the opposite, the caricature of.
There's also no way he would make Michael into a... white about six years old child? He may see him younger than Sophie does due to them growing up in a different environments, true, but 1) not that much 2) the whole thing about Michael is that he's the most responsible adult-like person in the whole Castle, despite being the youngest of all them, and Howl also KNOWS that. Also there's no need to change his skin or hair colour, as well as making him having no role in the story. I don't think he'll mention Michael trying to catch a star because of his nephew's homework â this is embarrassing, after all, but there's so MUCH more of Michael than that.
He's not gonna may ms. Pentstemmon a villain of any kind. Letting alone mixing her with Ben for some reason (who to hell is ms. Suliman, seriously?? W H Y). He highly respects her, to the point he's ready to attend her funeral even If it's gonna make him dead. If anything, he's gonna show her figure even more heroic than she is, maybe adding a whole sequence with her heroicly fighting with WoTW and loosing with an epic SGI. But making her a villain? No. Just not. There's no reason for that.
There's also no WAY he wouldn't mention Wales. He LOVES his country, he outright states it with "I love Wales but Wales doesn't love me" quote. Yes, there's jokes about Megan being a war metaphor, but Wales is not just Megan â it's also Mari, Niel, his old rugby team, his childhood and teen years, his memories and his experience. He would not make that portal If there was no things he wants to go back for â it's such an obvious weakness of his that WoTW notices it right away. He may not mention getting drunk before a fight, but he's gonna mention Wales.
(also I think people exaggerate Howl's hate for Megan. Yes, their relationship are far from perfect, but they still talk, she lest him go into her house announced and her family is what triggers him to fight with his evil ex in the first place. They may not be on a good terms but they DIDN'T cut off their connection. And "hate" is def not the word for that. Don't forget his first reaction to Sophie being in danger in CITA is "send her to Wales to his sister". He sees Wales as safe and reliable place, this is his first solution for dangerous situations. Even when he's not the biggest fan of his sister herself.)
He's also not gonna leave the sister subplot simply cause it was funny. He may change WoTW because he doesn't like her but he's not gonna make her live with them and feed her with a spoon, for the God's sake, that's disgusting. Him making himself Ingarian is the last thing he would do. He would NEVER.
(he's also not gonna leave out Shakespeare quoting in the sake of "romantise sequence you guys are talking about.)
Also, he could not care less about the war. I've seen a war with my own eyes, and... this is really, eh, too optimistic image of it I might say. Somehow realistic in showing it, but not by the way it provides solution, honestly. "Let's all just create love and King's gonna cancel war" IT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS. NO.
When he did attend war in CITA, he literally have won it by bringing IBUPROFEN onto the war field. Ibuprofen and bandages. What a "all-giving" reckless hero, really.
Book!Howl is a caricature to everything Movie! Howl is, and otherwise would not tell the story providing cliches he himself is the opposite of. He's a loser and an idiot and we love him for that.
It's two completely different stories. There's no need to connect them. Please.
#I can't even add anything more#your tags are real#this quote is so wrong it hurst#also that's probably controversial BUT#I don't know how people are actually in love with movie Howl?#Idk this like being in love is the perfect Prince Charming from an early fairy tales it's just...meh#there's not much of a personality#If you want to compare#because comparing to the book there REALLY not much of a personality#like why are you guys looping this 'that's my girl' quotes for 3383833 of times?#I'm genuinely concerned it scares me a bit I'm worried abt them#like yes movie Howl is perfect and romantic and cool but that's the reason why I can't like him as much#I'm sorry#(also giving a guy named Howell Jenkins an AMERICAN ACCENT is a crime)#howl's moving castle book#hmc book#hmc#book sophie#book howl#analysis

I would love to do a request if you would like! Some sort of Spencer Reid x Reader where the reader is super bad ass, tough, doesnât show much emotion is kind of cold to others but has the biggest soft spot for Spencer!! đ«¶đ»
thanks for your request lovey, I would love to write more of this pairing if you have any more requests ⥠fem!reader
"Here comes the ice queen," Morgan mutters, turning his chair away from the walkway.Â
You walk down the steps from Hotch's office. Whether you were praised or reprimanded is anybody's guess âyour face never gives anything away. Spencer doesn't necessarily agree with the way Morgan's categorised you, but he isn't wrong either. You're like Hotch in temperament, if Hotch were soft on only Spencer.Â
That might have something to do with why Spencer won't call you cold. You're never cold with him.Â
"What did boss man want?" Morgan asks.Â
"If it were your business, Morgan, I'm sure you'd already know." You don't say it spitefully, but it's far from a warm answer.
Spencer honestly asks just to piss Morgan off, "Everything okay?"Â
You visibly soften. Walking past Morgan without notice, you pause by Spencer's desk, your voice quieter, gentler. "Don't worry, Spence, everything's fine. You still reading that book about sex crimes in Arizona?"Â
"I finished it. Doesn't take long."Â
"No, you're fast," you agree. "What are you gonna read next?"Â
It's amazing how swiftly you shift gears. Your body language totally changes, your shoulders slouching toward him, your hand open and resting on the back of his chair as if you might touch his hair. Morgan shoots Reid a look that says, What is happening right now?
"I was thinking about reading up on the Milk Killer, from 1954. He tried to give his victims blood transfusions high in lactose in an attempt to cure intolerance."Â
Even Spencer admits that that sounds boring, but your face lights up with genuine interest. "That could be good. You'll have to tell me how it goes."Â
"Sure." Spencer squints at you. "You have something on your face."Â
"Yeah?" you ask, and Morgan goes wild behind you, dipping back in his chair in disbelief at your breathless tone. "What is it? Can you get it for me?"Â
You bend a little and Spencer wipes the lint from your face sweetly. He wonders if he should be blushing, your affection for him as clear as it is, but for once, Spencer Reid feels smug. He can melt someone that Morgan can't. "All gone," he says. Smugness aside, you're a friend (and maybe a little more than that).
"Thanks, Spence," you say, popping a kiss against his cheek. "You saved me from embarrassing myself."Â
Morgan clears his throat. You barely move, your hands twisting behind your back. "Hey, lovergirl," he says, making himself heard.Â
"What, Morgan?" you ask, finally looking away from Spencer's pinking cheeks.Â
"You have something," he says, pointing at the corner of his mouth.Â
"So?" you ask indifferently. You turn back to Spencer as though nothing occurred. "Do you want to go to the movies again this weekend? They're playing a silent film. I think you'll like it."Â
Spencer smiles genuinely. It's not his main concern, but it's definitely an added bonus to hear Morgan's sighed, "Are you kidding?" as he nods vehemently.Â
"I'd love to," Spencer says.Â
"Okay. It's a date," you say, smiling at him so nicely it feels like he can't breathe.Â
"What's a date?" Emily asks as she returns from the kitchenette, eyebrows jumping.Â
"It's a marker used to denote the day or month within a year," you say primly. "I have to go make copies for Hotch."Â
You don't say goodbye. Morgan likes you, really, in the same way you like Morgan, so he gives Spencer a dazed look followed by a small smile. "Good luck with that."Â
Spencer looks over his shoulder to follow your figure as you carry a box of reports to the photocopier. "I don't think I need luck," he murmurs. You glare at the copier, clicking one of its buttons aggressively. "She's nicer than you guys think."Â
"Sure."

jealousy, jealousy | choi seungcheol
fluff (+ a bit of angst) đ established relationship đ idol!cheol x gn!reader đ wc: 1.1k
. . . seungcheol getting jealous of a fictional character
âcheol, itâs just a fictional character,â you sighed, trying to explain for the tenth time since you got out of the movie theatre that, yes - the main lead was hot, but no - you wouldnât ever leave seungcheol for him.
sometimes you wondered if he was turning thirty or ten next year.Â
you didnât mean to be all heart eyes at the movies, but it wasnât your fault the main lead was good looking, not that it even mattered - seungcheol had his celebrity crushes too, but you didnât go around and whine about it. âyou know it doesnât mean anything, baby,â reaching over, you ran your fingers through his hair, like you always did whenever he was stressed or anxious, turning him into a puddle in your arms in a second.
âmhm,â your boyfriend mumbled, and gripped the steering wheel a bit tighter, not sparing you a single glance. you sighed and dropped your hand.Â
any other time youâd find this situation quite amusing - cheol jealous of a fictional character you happened to gush over, if not for the fact that you knew exactly how this would end.
with a silent treatment and an extremely pouty boyfriend.
normally you found that side of him very endearing, but dealing with a jealous coups was not an easy task, partially because your boyfriend happened to be one of the most stubborn people in the world.
now it was him and his pout against the world. Â
âyou know i love you,â you said, and turned your body away from him towards the window.Â
if he was going to act like a child, then so be it.
âiâm a fucking idiotâ seungcheol grumbled to himself, pulling his shirt over his head with a bit too much force, hitting himself in the head in the process. âfuck.âÂ
he couldnât get the image of your soft gaze and gentle voice out of his head, when you tried to cheer him up in the car after he acted like a complete asshole. he was the last person that deserved your sweet affection, and he was so mad at himself for acting like a fucking toddler instead of pulling the car over and throwing himself into your arms to beg for forgiveness.Â
âare you okay?â suddenly your voice pulled him out of his thoughts. you peeked through the door, and rubbed your eyes, already wearing his t-shirt that you always wore to sleep. the genuine concern in your eyes, and your adorably sleepy expression made seungcheol want to bang his head against the wall.Â
how could he be so stupid, and get jealous and angry at you for finding a fictional character attractive?Â
"uh, i'm fine, i just hit my head," he said quietly, not really looking at you. usually youâd immediately coo at him, and kiss the spot where he hit himself - of course you knew how much seungcheol loved your attention when he injured himself, even if it was just a scratch, but now he could only watch as you nodded and left without a word.Â
he sighed, picking up his toothbrush to finish up his bedtime routine. there was no way heâd sleep in your bed tonight, seungcheol wouldnât be able to lay next to you knowing how much he hurt you.
besides, there was so way youâd allow him to cuddle you after how he acted, and that was something he would not be able to stand.Â
looking at his reflection in the mirror for the last time, seungcheol turned all of the lights in the bathroom, and padded over to your shared bedroom to take his pillow, and a blanket from the closet.Â
heâd take the couch, itâd be less painful than sleeping in the same bed without being able to hug you.Â
âwhat are you doing?â you suddenly asked, your voice laced with sleep. you pushed yourself up to take a better look at your boyfriend, who was standing at his side of the bed with what looked like his pillow and a blanket, his expression reminiscing one of a kicked puppy. âyou have to be kidding me, choi seungcheol.âÂ
you looked so disappointed, and⊠annoyed? that was his last straw, and fuck every part of his dignity he had left - heâd beg on his knees for you forgiveness if thatâs what it took.Â
â âm sorry, okay?â he said, his voice breaking. you could bet that if you turned the lights youâd see your boyfriend all teary eyed, not that it would surprise you - seungcheol was usually quite emotional when it came to you and your fights.
âi know there was no reason for me to get jealous and act like the biggest asshole about it, you didnât deserve any of it,â he gripped the pillow tighter as if it would help. âand then i got so embarrassed of myself, i didnât have the guts to tell you how sorry i was. please forgive me baby, iâm so sorry.âÂ
âoh, cheol,â you sighed and opened your arms. without a second thought, the boy threw the pillow aside and ran into your embrace, his strong arms wrapping tightly around your waist as if he was afraid that you were about to run away.
âi'm not mad at you,â you pressed your cheek against the side of his head, tangling your fingers in his hair. âokay, maybe i was at first, but that's only because you seriously act like a child sometimes.â seungcheol groaned, as if he didnât know that already.Â
you sat like that for a moment - your arms wrapped around his strong shoulders, with his head buried in your neck where he placed gentle kisses, just like the fight never happened.Â
"did you seriously want to go to sleep on the couch?" you asked, kissing his forehead.
cheol leaned back, revealing the pouty lips, and his big doe eyes you knew so well. you could swear some day heâd be the death of you. "yeah, i wanted to. that was the plan," he admitted shyly, his thumbs running over your exposed hip. Â
"you're so dramatic, cheollie," you sighed and shook your head, pushing his bangs out of his eyes. "why didn't you want to sleep with me, though?"Â
your boyfriend groaned again, hiding in your neck like it was his safe space, pushing you back onto the bed with the force that he tackled you in. "i wouldn't be able to cuddle you," he murmured after a short while, like he was scared to admit it. Â
"again, i didn't hear you." the truth was you heard him perfectly fine, but what was better than making your usually confident boyfriend shy and blushy.Â
"i wouldnât be able to cuddle you!" he huffed, looking at you again. "happy?"Â
"very much, darling," you smiled at him. ânow stop being a drama queen, and come to bed.âÂ
seungcheol nodded like a child that was just promised an ice cream, and scrambled out of your embrace, quickly grabbing his pillow from the ground. you smiled to yourself, watching your big teddy bear of a boyfriend crawl back into bed.Â
âno more fighting, okay?â you murmured, your cheek pressed against his chest. âwe just wasted a perfectly fine afternoon on your whining, you big baby.âÂ
seungcheol knew you didnât mean to make him feel bad about what happened, he was sure you were probably used to his antics by now, but it didnât change the fact that if it was up to him heâd spend the night worshipping you in every way he could just to show you how much he loved you.Â
âiâm really sorry.âÂ
âitâs okay baby. letâs just sleep, yeah?â you said, and snuck your hand under his t-shirt, dragging you nails over his tummy. âand you know iâm yours, right? and that wonât change. ever.â

Hey Lock!!!! How are you doing? Do you have any Chrollo crumbs for us? đđđđ
i'm doing well today anon, thank you for asking!!!!!!!!!!! đđđ and yes ... i have this chrollo thought that has been floating around in my head rent-free...
chrollo is not a yandere you want to genuinely upset.
he doesn't do 'forgive and forget.' he may appear outwardly courteous, but he's not above being petty and cruel. it's for your benefit that he keeps these tendencies to himself. there are days you can forget who exactly he is, days where he feels more like a pesky ex than an actual threat. deep down in your subconscious, you know you'd never make it far should an escape find initial success. the usual avenues won't be available to you. there's no flagging down a bystander, who in turn will alert the authorities and shuffle you off into protective custody.
there's just you and the dwindling distance between an immensely displeased force.
you're unsure what compels you to do it. perhaps it's paranoia, exhaustion, or sheer desperation from how little you can actively do to prevent what awaits; but you call him. on a payphone, amidst a bustling metropolis. you're seconds away from transit that'd speedily haul you away, should he track the call. your mouth goes dry as each ring sounds. you begin having second thoughts, wondering what exactly it is you're hoping to accomplishâ
âwhen a familiar voice on the other line greets you. the quality distorts it ever so slightly, but your recognition is immediate, as is the way your heart temporarily stops.
he'll ask if you're alright. if you've been resting well, getting enough to eat, taking your medication.
your responses are automatic, like you're catching up with an old friend. he doesn't come across as angry, or upset really; more concerned than anything else. he does care about you. nothing you do will ever change that. he knows your allergies, what you prefer the AC to be on in the summer and heat in the winter, to turn on the subtitles when watching a movie without even asking.
he knows you.
you didn't mean to chat this long. it's a bad idea, potentially the start of the end, yet you can't help asking:
"... are you mad at me?"
he goes quiet.
not much time passes. you think you hear him sigh, but the connection's bad and your brain sleep deprived.
"i don't know, dear," he eventually admits. the pet name lacks its usual warmth. "i'm always pursuing you in some regard, aren't i? and yet... you always turn your back. always evade me, right at the last second. just when i think i finally have you, i'm reminded removing your heart might be my best chance at having it."
another pause.
"don't mind my musings. we both know out of all the lives i'll take, yours is perfectly safe."

ft. logan howlett x gn! reader â xmen, marvel
â°â⧠receiving a hug from logan howlett after a bad dayâ0.4k words
contains: hurt/comfort!! established relationship, mention of drowning, reader is shorter
†author's note: i really need a hug right now⊠save me logan howlett, save me T-T (how come all of my fics round to 400 words? it seems like a magic number)
when you return home to logan with clenched fists, glossy eyes, and raw lips from continuously ripping the skin away, you canât see the concern lacing his features when youâre keeping your head down in embarrassment and putting up your jacket, but you can feel his burning gaze drilling holes into you.Â
âbad day?â
â...yeahâŠâ you hate being vulnerable or feeling weak around him, especially when you feel like your struggles arenât even a fraction as bad as all that heâs gone through.
you can hear him grunt in response and the clink of glass on a table, which you assume is him putting up a bottle of beer, before making his way over to you and wrapping you up in a tight embrace. the gesture wasnât sudden, but the warmth and comfort that came with it was. you can feel the tears begin to spill over your waterline as you hug him back, burying your face in his chest and murmuring a muffled word of thanks. in the slur of negative emotions, you had forgotten just how much he cares for and values you.Â
âdo you wanna talk about it?â
ânot yetâŠâ youâll tell him later, maybe in the morning when you calm down. itâs nice to remember how he wouldnât judge you for your own issues, fondly recalling him reminding you that the depth of the water doesnât matter when youâre both drowning.
his arms encompassing your body feel so much nicer than normal when upset, full of genuine care that tells you that he was there for you and that everything would work itself out in the end. itâs strong and unabashed, but not overwhelming or suffocating, just safe and full of love and affection. one wouldnât look at this killing machine mutant and think that he gives good hugs, yet they really are the best and immediately lift your spirits. all the problems you had seem to melt away and the world that you find moves too fast and unpredictably stills, allowing you to finally breathe a sigh of relief.Â
âwell, you can tell me later when you are ready.â he places a kiss on your head before holding your face in his large hand and lifting it to look up at him, gently kissing away the sadness dripping from your beautiful eyes and smiling when you chuckle at his actions. âhow about we order something and watch a movie?â
âthat sounds perfect,â you pause for a second, relishing the moment, âi love you, lo.â
âi love you too, bub.â

Let Your Big Brother Take Care of You
SUMMARY: While visiting your stepbrother at college, you have a hard time falling asleep after some drunken mishaps. He helps you out.
WORD COUNT: 2.7k
WARNINGS/ADDITIONAL INFO: Smut đ, dubcon, stepcest, intoxication, fingering, comfort sex kinda??, gratuitous mention of Taco Bell
Beta read by @sasybanana
Actually visiting with your step-brother had been the last thing on your mind when you told your parents that you would be visiting him this weekend. Sure, you got along fine, but you barely knew each other and it felt like he was moving out for college as soon as your families joined. Instead, you were hellbent on finding the best partying and hooking up opportunities his film school had to offer. Framing it as a sisterly visit and a chance to learn about campus life was purely an excuse to convince your parents to let you travel on your own, which they seemed to buy as you were headed off to school yourself next year. Besides, Neil had an off campus apartment you could crash at, which would be cheaper than a hotel.
He greeted you with a hug as you entered and set your stuff down, instantly being assaulted by the scent of unwashed laundry and old weed smoke. Still, it was comfortable enough, and was a nice taste of freedom from your momâs house.
âSo, my baby sister wants to visit me for the weekend, for reasons not at all related to my schoolâs reputation as a party campus?â He smirked as you situated yourself.
âOf course! Just like how my big brother spends all the money he gets from our parents on textbooks and tuition.â you shot back.
âTouchĂ©. Well, whatever trouble youâre determined to get into, fuck, I dunno, be smart about it. Use condoms, donât get drugged. Donât drink so much that you puke, or at least, try to puke somewhere other than carpet.â
âWow⊠so caring.â you rolled your eyes as you headed to the bathroom to get ready for the evening. You snatched a flyer off of a phone pole for a house party, and the directions you got off google said it was only a few blocks away. As soon as you had your heels and your lashes on, you were off.
**********************************************************************************
Stumbling back to Neilâs apartment with your heels in your hand, the night had been a bust. You finished too many mystery drinks too fast and ended up puking in the lap of the one guy who was interested in you, locked yourself in the bathroom to cry for the better part of an hour, and bolted for the door as soon as you pulled yourself together. Thank fuck Neil had the first apartment on the first floor, otherwise you might not have been able to find it in your impaired state.
The door was unlocked, and Neil hadnât moved from his place on the couch in the hours that you had been gone, presumably wrapped up in whatever it is that he does in his spare time (Watch movies? Play video games? Jerk off? You really didnât know). This was fine, you really didnât need him noticing you at the moment. You tried to enter quietly, but tripped over yourself as you moved.
âHoly shit, are you okay?â
Neil rushed over to you to make sure you werenât hurt. Unable to form words, you started crying again when you met his gaze, big fat mascara tears rolling down your cheeks. Even as he helped you to stand, you wobbled on your way up and had to lean on him for support.
âHow much did you have to drink?â
âDunno⊠a lot.â It was true, you had chugged whatever you were handed and helped yourself to a variety of half-finished cups that were abandoned by their owners. You had never drank this much before, and had no idea how much was too much until it was too late.
âShit, um, letâs get you to the bed. The room is yours tonight, donât worry about it. Do you think you can walk that far?â There was genuine concern in his tone, even if he was a bit panicked and clueless. He looped an arm around your waist and guided you as best he could to the tiny room. Your flop onto the twin bed wasnât exactly graceful, but landing on a mattress was about a thousand times more comfortable than landing on the floor.
As soon as Neil turned to leave, you began fighting your way out of your tight, itchy dress. Unfortunately, the zipper was stuck (damn cheap clothing) and the garment was too fitted to pull over your head. Refusing to spend any more time stuck in scratchy fabric hell (Seriously, Forever 21, who sells unlined sequined dresses?), you continued wrestling with the zipper and wiggling to find a better angle until you rolled off the bed and landed with a thud. Not knowing what else to do, you shouted for your stepbrother.
The worried look on his face quickly turned into an eye roll as he entered the room and saw you on the floor again.
âSo are you like⊠determined to spend the whole night down there? Undeniably attracted to shitty carpeting? Horny for the floor?â Having a laugh at your drunken expense might not have been the nicest thing for Neil to do, but you were being such a handful tonight.
âI canât get my dress off,â you sheepishly mumbled as you avoided his gaze. âThe zipperâs stuck and I need your help.â
âHey, hey, itâs fine.â Neil soothed as he knelt down to meet you on the floor. âIf anything, Iâm flattered⊠Usually I have to buy a girl dinner before she even thinks of asking me to undress her.â
You shot him an unamused glare, but nonetheless turned and leaned towards him so he could reach the zipper. His touch was warm and gentle as he fiddled with the impossibly tiny hook-and-eye clasp atop the zipper, one hand gently pressed against your upper back to steady you while the other went to work. Before you knew it, the dress slackened and you were able to free yourself from its confines, modesty be damned.
âA tiny little dress and no bra? You really were planning to have fun tonight.â You were still turned away from Neil and couldnât see his face, but you could hear the grin in his voice.
âIt has built-in cups, pervert!â you huffed as you rushed to cover yourself. You groped around for a t-shirt or something before remembering that you were in an unfamiliar room and not at home. âGet out, I just wanna sleep.â
âThat doesnât explain the little lacy panties, though.â Neil let his eyes trail over you before tossing you one of his own shirts. It was true, you had gone out partying with the hope of hooking up as quickly and anonymously as possible, but you werenât going to admit that. All you wanted was to gain a little sexual experience of your own before heading out to college, but now the only boy to see you naked was your weird stepbrother. âAnd Iâm not leaving you alone tonight. You canât even stand and Iâve had to help you up twice. Youâre too much of a mess to be alone.â
He helped you onto the bed again, only this time he climbed in behind you after hitting the light. The bed was small enough that there was almost no choice but to snuggle up to him, using his shoulder as a pillow. As weird as the whole situation was, it felt nice having him there, like a grounding tether against the spinning sensation in your head.
âFor what itâs worth, I thought you looked really cute tonight. Before all the puking and crying and falling, I mean.â He chuckled softly and pressed a kiss to the top of your head. As sweet as the gesture was, you couldnât ignore the growing gurgle in your stomach.
âNeil⊠I want Taco Bell.â
âIâll buy you all the Taco Bell in the world tomorrow if you settle down and go to sleep.â
âOkayâŠâ you buried your face into the crook between Neilâs neck and shoulder as he pulled you closer and idly rubbed your back. You couldnât help but moan softly at the sensation, which Neil tried his hardest to ignore.
Had you been a little more awake or a little more sober, you mightâve noticed the hitch in Neilâs breath as his hand trailed up and down your back, or the way his hand soon opened into a flat palm and started exploring lower, dangerously close to the waistband of your panties. Instead, you continued to lay silently, dozing off as his hand inched lower.
Eventually, his hand made its way to your ass and cupped the supple flesh. Feeling emboldened by your lack of response, Neil began to squeeze and knead. This made you squirm away, but in doing so, you were met with the perfect amount of friction as your clothed pussy rubbed against Neilâs thigh. Neither of you had realized just how closely you were snuggled together until now, when it dawned on you both what was happening.
Part of you panicked, part of you realizing that this was wrong through your drunken haze, but another part of you only cared that you were being touched, and it felt pleasurable. That was the whole reason you made this trip, right? you rationalized to yourself as you attempted to grind against your stepbrotherâs thigh a second time.Â
Instead of being met with the delicious friction, you felt Neil shift beneath you. Did you fuck this up? Were you just imagining his hand on your ass? But before you could worry any further, he was rolling you onto your back with his thick, firm leg pressing between your thighs and spreading them, and the unmistakable poking of his erection against the spot where your hip met your belly. He pushed his thigh against you, inviting you to grind it.
âIs this what my horny little sister needs? Canât fall asleep without coming?â His voice was low and husky, in equal parts from being half asleep and his obvious arousal. You were starting to transition from drunk to hungover, feeling more drowsy and dizzy than anything else, and the most you could answer with was a pathetic little whimper as he nudged you.
You rubbed yourself against him as best you could, unable to find just the right angle from the new position you were placed in. In a fit of frustration, you tried pushing Neil off of you so you could rub yourself with your hand, but he was deceptively strong and had you pinned.
âNeeeeeeeeeiiiillllllâ you whined, once again wondering if this was all a mistake, maybe you should just try to fall asleep and forget this ever happened. Forget the whole night ever happened. Change your name, move across the country, and never talk to anyone who witnessed tonight ever again.
âShhhh, itâs alright, just lie there and let your big brother take care of you.â
Just lying there was about all you could do as Neil snaked one of arms between your legs, stroking your folds through your panties a bit aimlessly before gathering the courage to reach beneath the cloth and explore further. After a bit of awkward poking around, he found your clit and began circling it gently with his fingertips, eliciting another whimper, this time of pleasure.
âSee? I know exactly what you need. Mâgonna play with your little pussy until you relax and fall asleep, like a good girl.â His fingers began teasing your slit, tracing up and down its length without daring to breach inside. It never would have occurred to you that Neil would know his way around pussy, he never brought any girls home when he lived with you. He mustâve gotten a lot of practice after moving out, because the way his fingers were just barely ghosting over you was driving you crazy in a way you couldnât understand. You wanted him to stop, you wanted him to continue exactly what he was doing, you wanted him to start giving you more. All you knew was that you wanted him, and for him to keep touching you.
As if he could read your mind, he spread your innermost lips and plunged two of his fingers inside. The stretch was sudden, but not at all unwelcome. You were wet enough for him to thrust his fingers in and out of you easily, spreading your slick wherever he touched. As soon as he began alternating between fucking you on his fingers and roughly toying with your clit, you started seeing stars.
âYou like that? You like me finger fucking your tight little pussy? I wish I could see it, I bet it's all pink and cute, like your nipples. I bet youâve never even taken a cock before."
Too drunk, too horny, and too tired to form words, the most you could do was shyly squeak in affirmation.
âNext time Iâll have you bounce on my cock so I can watch your face as you come. Or maybe Iâll eat you out so I can really get to see how cute your pussy is. Or maybe youâll just want to pay back the favor Iâm doing you now and suck me off.â
Next time? You hadnât considered something like this happening again, or even the fact that youâd have to see him again. In mixed company. With your parents around. Would he fuck you in your childhood bedroom while everyone else was downstairs cooking dinner? Or would he keep your liaisons a dirty little secret that only happened away from home?
You didnât care. You were coming from your stepbrotherâs touch, in your stepbrotherâs bed, far away from anyone else you knew. You felt your stomach tighten and your toes involuntarily curl, much stronger than you ever felt sneakily rubbing yourself in the shower. Thank fuck you were in a dark room, because you swore you could feel your face going all stupid.
You must not have realized how much you were panting and clenching around his fingers, because Neil seemed to know exactly how close you were and began whispering in your ear, encouraging you to come. You could barely register what he was saying, you were so lost in the sensation of his breath on your neck and his hand on your cunt.
Your orgasm finally took hold, and you could hear yourself babbling in pleasure but had no idea what you were saying, if you were even forming coherent words, as the pleasure ripped through your body like an electric shock. After the initial burst, you felt your body relax in a way you didnât know was possible, releasing tension you didnât even know you were holding. You swore you could feel yourself melting through the mattress before realizing that no, that was just sweat.
Noticing that you were lying there like a limp noodle and no longer squirming and moaning, Neil rolled off of you, withdrawing his hand from your panties. His fingers were completely soaked with your wetness, and while his initial instinct was to wipe them off on his shirt, roll over, and go to sleep, he couldnât ignore the fact that he was rock hard. In a stroke of genius that would soon lead to literal stroking, he realized he had the perfect lube on hand.
He shoved his drenched hand down his boxers and began tugging his desperate member, softly grunting in rhythm with his pumping fist. Part of you felt bad that you werenât helping, you had kinda forgotten that Neil was a complete person with desires of his own and not just a machine to get you off, but you were cozy and half asleep and he seemed to be handling the situation well enough on his own. At least, well enough that he was coming all over the front of his shirt.
He carefully pulled his soiled shirt over his head and wiped off his hand and what was left of his mess before tossing it on the floor and reaching for the blanket that had been kicked to the bottom of the bed amidst all the excitement. You felt yourself being tucked in as you gently dozed off, snuggling into Neilâs side as soon as he laid down beside you.
Yeah, you were going to visit your step brother a lot more often now.

The Proxy is Crushing?
Here are some cute headcanons for Wise when he has a crush:
Nervous and Fidgety:Â Wise tends to become visibly nervous around his crush. His usually calm demeanor becomes more anxious, often shifting his weight from one foot to the other or playing with his hands.
Crush: "Do you have any good documentary recommendations? Iâve been wanting to learn more about ancient civilizations."
Wise, fidgeting with a VHS tape and shifting his weight: "Oh, um, yes! Thereâs this amazing documentary about the history of Mesopotamia. It's really detailed and fascinating. I, uh, could lend you a copy if you'd like?"
Thoughtful Gestures:Â Wise pays close attention to the little details about his crush, often remembering their favorite things and surprising them with thoughtful actions.Â
Wise, handing a fresh cup of coffee: "Here, I thought you might need this."
Crush, pleasantly surprised as they smell the coffee: "You remembered my favorite coffee blend?"
Wise, smiling shyly: "Yeah, I thought you might need a pick-me-up. I remembered you mentioned it last week."
Blushing:Â Despite his typically composed nature, Wise canât help but blush when his crush compliments him or gets too close.Â
Wise is organizing some VHS tapes on a shelf, focused on his task. Heâs been chatting with his crush about the latest movie releases.Â
Crush, smiling warmly: "You look really nice today."
Wise, momentarily stunned and turning to face them, cheeks flushing: "Oh, uh, thanks! You... you look great too."
Overthinking:Â Wise often overanalyzes his interactions with his crush, replaying conversations in his mind and wondering what they meant by certain comments. He can get caught in a loop of second-guessing himself.
Crush gives Wise a compliment.
Crush: "You always have the best ideas!"
Later, Wise confides in Belle: "Do you think they meant that? Or were they just being nice? Maybe I read too much into it..."
Subtle Compliments:Â He praises his crush's intelligence, sense of humor, or unique qualities, always in a subtle, genuine way.
Crush: "I'm not sure if I can pull this off."
Wise, sincerely: "You always surprise me with how capable you are. I believe in you."
Protective Streak:Â Wise becomes more protective of his crush, always looking out for their safety and well-being.
Crush: "I'm thinking of going into the Hollow alone."
Wise, concerned: "Alone? No way. It's too dangerous. Let me come with you."
Daydreaming:Â Wise often finds himself daydreaming about spending time with his crush. He imagines different scenarios, from fun outings to quiet, intimate moments.
Wise is sitting at the counter, staring out the window with a distant look in his eyes. Heâs imagining a cozy afternoon at home, snuggled up on the bed with his crush. Theyâre wrapped in a warm blanket, watching a movie together, with his crush resting their head on his chest.
Belle, waving a hand in front of his face: "Hello, Earth to Wise!"
Wise, snapping out of it and shaking his head slightly: "Oh, sorry! Just...thinking about something."
Nervous Laughter:Â Wise tends to laugh nervously when he's flustered, trying to cover up his feelings with humor.
Crush, noticing Wise's slightly tense posture: "You seem nervous. Everything okay?"
Wise, laughing nervously while rubbing the back of his neck: "Me? Nervous? Nah, just, uh, excited, I guess."
Crush, raising an eyebrow playfully: "Excited, huh? About what?"
Wise, still chuckling awkwardly as his cheeks flush: "Oh, you know... just the usual stuff. Nothing major."
Confiding in Belle:Â He secretly confides in Belle about his feelings, seeking advice but often regretting it when she teases him.
Wise talks to Belle about his crush.
Wise: "I can't stop thinking about them. What if they don't feel the same?"
Belle, teasing: "You? Overthinking? Never. Just be yourself, Wise. They already seem to like you."
Subtle Flirting:Â Wise tries to flirt subtly, using clever wordplay and teasing remarks, hoping to gauge his crush's reaction.
Crush, looking around the carefully set-up room: "Did you really plan all this?"
Wise, with a soft smile and a hint of teasing in his voice: "Maybe. I had to impress you somehow, right?"
Crush, smiling warmly: "Oh, I'm definitely impressed. I didn't know you had such a sweet side."
Wise, chuckling gently: "Well, I guess you bring out the best in me." He looks at them with genuine affection, his eyes warm. "Besides, I think you're worth the effort."
