As an elder SJM fan (I've been reading her books as they came out since TOG) I would like to let the wider fandom know that every time a new SJM book comes out, including fan-favorites, a vocal part of the online fandom talks about how her writing is getting worse, the book was disappointing, the characters were all wrong, etc. Every single time, without fail.

at a meta level, i still think it's quite fascinating that remus embodies BOTH intrusive thoughts and dark creativity, and that it makes so much sense? like, it's established that roman and remus separated due to thomas' catholic upbringing. instilling a sense of black and white thinking, creativity was, thus, separated, with roman put into the spotlight as remus was pushed into the dark.

and, well, i don't think remus intended to represent intrusive thoughts when he first came to be. rather, due to thomas' continuous suppression of remus, any thought remus would put into thomas' head would immediately be labelled as impulsive or intrusive (depends on the kind of thought remus gives) due to how seldom it is. the constancy at which remus' powers and contributions are stripped away kind of just... made him "intrusive" just by mere act of participating or talking, which i find interesting.
