besides wanting dirk to know, the other reason liyah told him was because she knew it was cairo who'd translate for him. sure, dirk could have hired a translator, but why bother? when one of his good friends spoke the language? & she knew cairo well by now, he liked to protect her. hearing her get threatened by cecilia, cairo would never sit back. & she also knew that cairo was...not nice. nice to her, yes. he wore a perfect mask around her, so perhaps he thought liyah fell for it. but liyah was aware that he was cruel sometimes. & it was his cruelty she counted on him using to deal with cecilia. of course, liyah could've dealt with cecilia herself. but she knew whatever she could do to her would never be to the same magnitude as what cairo could do. liyah doesn't tell saint this, though. just smiles.

later, when liyah felt better, saint promises to find cecilia for her. but liyah tells him not to worry. because cairo would take care of it.

saint's immediately apologetic, but by then, liyah's anger had died down. it was saint after all, liyah could never really be angry with him. she just pleads for him to stop being so kind to those who didn't deserve it.

she angrily tells saint what cecilia had planned to do to dirk...how cecilia had stood by & almost let her get assaulted. how she used that same thing as ammo to get her to go along with her stupid plan.

but just like he told dirk once, saint truly wasn't the type to hold a grudge, so he just let cecilia be. but he knew liyah hated cecilia, so he decided not tell her. there was no reason to stress liyah out. but hearing this, for the first time ever, liyah feels anger towards saint.

since liyah's welcome party to ravon talents, saint's had a hunch. so he had cecilia's background checked.

she didn't want to ruin the mood, but before leaving for selvadorada, liyah wanted to tell him. cecilia wouldn't try anything, but just in case..it would be good for saint to prepare. but when liyah gently brings it up....saint's response is that he knew.

I hate forcing things on my sims unless I really need to. she's gotten romantic wants for cairo (of course), carmen, nathaniel and dylan which is why they're part of the roster. but she's never gotten a single romantic want for saint I'm sorry y'all 😭😭

but I promise the minute liyah gives an inclination that she wants saint? I'll go with it and he will be added to the roster expeditiously!

liyah [fearfully, because saint tends to get excessive with gifts] sits to open the presents. all the while, there's a nagging thought in her mind that...maybe it was time to tell saint about cecilia.

upstairs, liyah finishes taking a shower & getting ready for the night & enters saint's room to see...gifts waiting for her. including a massive bouquet of lilies; her favourite flowers. not because she particularly liked the flowers, but just because saint called her 'lili'.

so she allows herself to feel happy, even if her birthday didn't necessarily bring her any joy. being surrounded by people who cared, did.

& even though it's overwhelming, liyah feels grateful. both to saint & to his parents, who cared enough to celebrate her.
