thinking abt the florence bit of one of my fics (in the 1500s), how they got there thinking yeah we'll spend a year here tops, decided to get a house and an old dog, very mean, very aggressive, the boar hunting kind, a big huge molosser, came with it bc no one managed to take it out of there, and immediately it falls in love with andy (and with the others in increments) and they think "ok he's already like nine, he won't live much longer, we'll just wait him out". ten years later they're still there, the dog is treated like a king and still going strong at around 1cm per hour of speed, sleeps on andy and quynh's bed (which they moved downstairs bc he can't go up the stairs anymore)

Okay. Here we go. A.K.A. I hurt myself and also I hate it here.
So out of everything that decided to come for my neck yesterday, (Superman Yusuf, Dance AU, Boopley/Coper, ect.)
Book of the Nile won because of these posts, (x), (X), (X), (x)
So here’s this One-shot so that I can move on with my life and finish my other fics!
There is a NSFW section in between the asterisks. ***

So she works at him. They spend days pouring over new technologies, better ways to case targets, and hide resources. Days where they drink nothing but tea because his hands are shaking for a bottle but she reminds him how proud she is of him. Days where they talk about family and trying to find a place to stay after losing everything. They talk about these things with the whole team of course. But sometimes. Sometimes they are just Nile and Sebastièn. Talking on the couch at 3 am, knees brushing, eyes soft.
The first thing Nile notices is how he watches her. Booker’s eyes are heavy enough for her to feel them but he always turns away when she looks back. She wonders if he knows how young it makes him. He must have noticed the trembling feeling, the slight shift in the air when they share the same space. But neither of them is ready. So they wait.
They wait and it takes years. She has to push him on almost everything. They talk about how he has to stop calling her a kid, how she’s there for him just like the rest of their team, their family. He’s gotten better, he’s done some healing, but orbiting around JoeandNicky, QuynhandAndy can hurt sometimes. Whether that hurt is envy or remorse, she doesn’t always know. But if Nile knows about anything its dedication.
The change comes when they start to talk about purpose, belonging. Nile talks about having to fight her entire life. Sebastièn tells her of fighting and fleeing. If he couldn’t save his sons, how can he save anyone else? Does he even deserve to? She feels like she abandoned her family. And no matter how much money she squirrels away to them it will never be enough. She won’t ever be with them again. They cry together, and nothing else is said. Because some grief you cannot get over you just get used to living with.
Nile tries to show him that they have a family to lean on. Here and now, his grief isn’t a weakness and he doesn’t have to hide it. Nile and Andy take bets on when Nicky will finally be able to talk to Booker, Quynh mentions having seen Booker and Joe watching the game, but at intermission butting their heads together to talk and giggle like little boys. It’s good to see him growing.
Nile grows too. They train her all the time. About pressure points and poison and wrestling holds. Nile asks for a set of broadswords. The team all take turns teaching her something. This is not to say that she doesn’t miss her old life, but she is steady and reveling in the new one. She feels alive and ready to topple anything in her way.
Booker remembers that first conversation when Nile held her hand in the fire just to see what would happen. To test herself. He does not want to be another flame to her if all he does is rend her flesh. He thinks about keeping her warm, about the gold tones of her skin in the glow. He is trying to find out if he is worthy enough for such a treasure. If nothing else, surely he can tell her, in small ways at least, of the fire he sees in her, the fire she lights in him.
The energy between them changes, deepens after her thirtieth immortal birthday. They throw a seven-person party. They take a moment to be silent over the chair. And then they start passing each other fresh bread and warmer smiles. They all give her gifts. Nicky and Joe give her a pass to an art seminar she talked about. Andy and Quynh give her a new set of throwing daggers, and the promise that when she’s mastered them they’ll talk about the broad sword. Copley gives her a new drawing tablet and a better analog camera.
Booker gives her a tiny box the color of a blue robin egg.
The white letters “Tiffany” shock her. Inside is a rose gold locket, with pictures of her family. She sheds a few tears, he nods and they move on. Three bottles of wine and a ridiculous game of twister later, they all head to their rooms. Booker waits, clears the table, washes dishes, listens to make sure he is the last one there with her. He watches the line of her back for a moment, while she takes the gift out of its box.
“Will you help me put it on?” Nile is turning the locket over, holding the chain tight between her fingers.
He says nothing, just takes the chain from her hand, and drapes it around her neck. When it’s done he hooks a finger under her chin and moves her head back and forth.
“Just like I thought. It fits you,” he lets her go to take a step back. He does not expect her hug but finds that he cannot help but return it. He presses his nose into the hair at her temple, nuzzles there while she squeezes his ribs. She whispers, “Thank you.”
Sebastièn holds her closer and says, “Happy Birthday Queen.” It is thanks enough to hear her laugh.
Nile doesn’t know what she expected to happen, but it wasn’t this. Not this subtle dragging kindness. Sebastièn starts complimenting her, seemingly at random. It’s not new per se, he’s done it since the beginning really. But soon Nile notices that the compliments are different. Measured.
Sebastièn watches her, mumbles “I like it when you wear your hair that way.” Four days later she finds a small bag of gold beads for her braids.
She’s been working on an oil painting all week when he says quietly, “Your style is starting to stand out more. I like the theme of water that you use.” The next morning there are new bangles on her side table.
One time they are helping Nicky in the kitchen when she cuts herself. Booker puts her hand under the tap and says, “For the brain of this outfit you sure are clumsy.”
When she goes to bed that night there is a small antique ring on her pillow. Nile has questions. So the next day Nile does what she always does in these moments. She goes to Andy. A sparring session may be the wrong time to ask, but here they are.
Andy knocks her flat on her back and says,  “No. Absolutely not, ask him about it and leave me out.”
Quynh laughs, “Nile the ring probably means something. Which means you should talk to Joe and Nicky.”
So she does. After dinner, she asks them to walk her to the plaza to paint. They share a look and start putting on their coats. As they walk through the town she mostly listens to them talk, too busy turning the problem over in her head to be really engaged. When they get to their favorite bench in the plaza, they sit down with her in between them.
“So are we going to keep talking about textile art? Or is our little sister ready to talk to us about love ah? About romance?”
“Amore we cannot tease her. At least not too much!” Nile pretends to slide off the bench while they laugh.
“This is why I always talk to Andy first!,” They kiss her cheeks and squeeze her arms. Joe says,
“You know Andy! She’s very old, and can’t die. So you can imagine the kind of stress she’s under.”
They laugh together, give her time to breathe with them. Then they listen to her. Nile talks about how it has always been different with Booker, how they watch each other so often. The early morning conversations. They trust each other now. Warmth is growing between them. So that’s why she worries about the gifts.
They’re beautiful! Yet she feels as if they are in the place of his affection rather than an extension of it. She asks her brothers why Booker thinks he has to buy her love? Does she seem that shallow? They tell her that isn’t the reason, that is more that Booker doesn’t think he can, or should, give her his affection. Which doesn’t make any sense so she just puts her hands out in frustration.
Joe seems to be stumbling around saying something. Nicky keeps frowning. Nile watches them have a silent conversation when suddenly Nicky goes very still and looks away from them. Eventually, he is the one who explains it to her.
“When you love someone… after you’ve done terrible things. After you’ve carried anger and bitterness inside of you for so long, you feel like you’ll break everything you touch. Like your hands aren’t worthy to hold your beloved, because you aren’t even worth the breaths you take. How dare you think to sully their beauty with your hands. The most expensive gift in the world is nothing in comparison to the worth of them in your life. So you don’t love them openly, You hoard your love, then try to show it anyway without putting yourself in the picture.”
Nile watches Nicky look out at the stars. She turns to see Joe looking right back at her. They nod. Nile stands and moves to the other side of Nicky and pushes him into Joe.
She opens her mouth to ask how Joe did it when she feels his hand on her head. She leans closer to them, turns into the arm Nicky holds around her, and listens.
“It may take a while,” Joe is patting her head softly while he speaks. “You will have to remind him that love is not earned, it is given. You will have to tell him that hurting himself hurts you. You will have to remind him that you make your own choices and that you’ve chosen him. You have to have faith that he knows you belong together. There is hope yet, and I do not think it will take you so long as us.”
“Why is that?”
“Because my darling river, the ring he gave you says *Adore.* And that is moving much faster than we ever did.”
She looks at them again. Watching the way they lean into each other. These men who have gone through so much together and still love so fiercely. She thinks of Sebastièn’s arms when he holds her, the way they can banter, the way it feels when he trusts her with his secrets. She thinks of how safe she is with him, how she trusts him. How long it’s taken them to get this far at all. She decides that its time to take the next step forward to their future.
Nile isn’t one to wait long once she’s made a decision. So the next morning when she comes down for breakfast, she is wearing every gift he has given her. Before he can say anything she slips away to the study, then passes him again to sit at the table next to Quynh.
She is constantly surprising him, this woman. He watches her come into the room and he probably stops breathing. She is beautiful, shining in pink and gold. He wishes for Joe’s skill in art so that he could capture the way she looks now. Sebastièn feels as if she is walking through the room with his lungs in her hands. She does not acknowledge him any differently than usual, she just says,
“Good morning Book.”
And what? What is he supposed to do? He never thought that she would truly acknowledge him this way. He’d hoped but… He is watching her move past the table when he catches Nicky’s eye. Watches him drag a thumb across his neck. Booker looks to Joe, but they can’t make eye contact without laughing. It’s not perfect, but it is something, and Booker will take what he can get.
After everyone disperses for the day, Quynh and Andy sit in the study with him. He hasn’t read a single word on the page open in his lap.
“Are you ready for this? Have you talked to her? Told her what you want?”
“Andy. I’ll take whatever she gives me and nothing more. I’m not sure that I’m not dreaming right now.”
Quynh, taking a drink from his cup says, “She told me about her plans. Get ready.”
Booker has no idea how to do that. Nile is the first person to make him want to be ready to live, not just yearn for death. He is a bit scared of her to be honest. But he has read enough books, studied the world long enough to remember that water leads to creation. He wants to know what she will make of him.
She figures the best way for him to know that he doesn’t have to buy her love, is for her to show him. So she starts to leave notes in the books he’s reading. The first thing she leaves him is Barter by Sara Teasdale.
“Spend all you have for loveliness, Buy it and never count the cost; For one white singing hour of peace, Count many a year of strife well lost, And for a breath of ecstasy, Give all you have been, or could be”
In return she finds Pablo Neruda’s Sonnet XI in her jacket. From then on it is a game of truth or dare. Endless excerpts of Chaucer and Wilde. Nile leaves her annotated copies of Angelou, Baldwin and Dumas around the house. Laughs when she cannot find them again.  There are so many words scattered and building between them, but they have spoken none of them aloud. It is a hovering cloud of sticky scared desire. She keeps playing the game anyway.
Booker wants to know her mind. So he steals her books and in their places leaves her more adornments and words from much better poets than he. A section of Milton and a silver anklet. A page of Naidu and a small jade necklace. He gives back her Angelou, but with a new gold cross inside. A book of Sappho, with pressed flowers. E. E. Cummings and a new set of paints.
He hopes that she knows what it means to him. The ability to read her. The things she says without moving her mouth. The way she will talk shop or sit in silence with him. They way she trusts him. He hopes she cannot see how much he follows her presence through the house.
Upping the stakes, Nile starts to touch him more and more often. She holds his wrist to pull him into the car. A hand on his shoulder as she leaves the table. Her favorite perfume just before she hugs him good night. She pretends not to notice how he turns his face into her neck, how he tenses and bends under her hands. No need to tell him that he folds for her like molding clay until their tenth anniversary. At least that’s the advice she gets from Quynh.
It is somewhat of a team effort, enfolding them together. A charade in small acts. Andy helps her find the books he still wants for their collection. Nile and Joe spend hours debating the virtues of different kinds of prose while they sketch and paint. It soothes a small ache in her heart when Nicky and Quynh snatch her away for midnight ice cream, reminds her of her little brother. Her new siblings give her lessons on how to tease your lover without showing your hand. Trading embarrassing stories about each other under the eyes of the night.
She plays the game for months, knowing that he needs time, eager to show him that she is a safe place to stay. Eventually she has to go shopping for a new jewelry case, and a new keepsake box.
They take a trip to the beach. She bought a new swimsuit just to see what he would say. He tells her,
“It is good to see you happy, Chèrie,” and presses a perfect conch shell into her hands. Now Nile is a patient woman, but even her will is tested when she watches him help a child who swims too far out to sea that day. She watches him hold the boy to his chest, listens to him soothe the boy with a quiet, “You are safe now Mon chou. No more tears hm? Look, here is your mother. Smile for her, mon ours.”
She wonders who this man thinks he is? Realizes that she thinks of him as hers. She watches him move past the shadow of sadness and return to their small portion of the beach. She realizes that she wants his first move to be towards her, always. She says none of this. Instead she tells him that she looks like a drowned rat. Hears him say,
“Better than looking like a boiled lobster, Chèrie.” To which they all look towards Nicky and laugh. Nile laughs even harder when Nicky just responds with a single finger. It is good to see her family together like this.
It is good. They are good. But she wants more than good. Nile wants more than this silent sharing of words between them. She might do something drastic if Sebastièn doesn’t say something soon.
They’re in the south of France when the tension breaks. She should have seen it coming actually. They’ve finished a quiet job, and everyone is a bit restless.  It’s safe enough to stay in the city so they decide to go to the theatre. A lauded production of Antony and Cleopatra that Joe’s been raving about. When they step out of the car, Nile tries to tuck her hand into the crease of his elbow only to be sent to buy some wine before they’re seated. When she gets back the only one there is Booker.
He knows what they’re doing of course. Quynh whispers to him about courage, Joe says something about faith. Andy and Nicky nod. Then they leave. It is not that he doesn’t want to tell her, it is that he doesn’t want to hurt her. That he wouldn’t be able to stand losing her when he fucks it up. It fills him with heat and dread to see her coming near. The way she walks, the angle of her chin as she looks for them. The sharpness of her eyes as they settle on him.
He does not know what he will do if, when, he loses her.  She deserves everything, how can he give her a shell of nothing? There are some days when he feels that he can work towards deserving her. Today is not one of those days.
Nile watches him tighten as she moves close. As they get to their seats, she sees him trying to sit in a chair a space away from her. Thankfully, another patron arrives and Booker is forced to sit next to her. She clenches her jaw and asks,
“Am I that scary, you don’t even want to sit next to me in a dark room?”
“You are that scary, dark room notwithstanding.” She moves to slap his arm but he catches her fingers in his. The curtains open. In act one Nile waits for him to interlock their fingers, and when he doesn’t, she moves to pull her hand away from his. Onstage, Cleopatra is awaiting word from Antony only to find that he has married Octavia when Sebastien grips her hand harder in his. They do not get up during intermission. They say nothing. But his hand is in hers and his thumb runs over the ring he gave her. Slow and again, his eyes dark in the dim light.
Egypt goes to war with Rome and he brings her hand up to kiss her wrist. Antony is dying, but all Nile can hear is her heart in her throat as she rests her head against his arm. Neither of them truly watches Cleopatra die of the serpents bite. Too busy sharing air and tracing patterns on each other’s forearms.
The air is tight between them as they leave the theatre. No big declaration. No long conversation about what they mean to each other. Instead, Nile is too busy laughing at what he says about the actor playing Caesar to worry about the rain starting to fall. They walk in the rain for a while before the droplets start to fall like pennies. Booker slips his arm around her waist to shuffle her under an awning.  Trying to shield her face as best he can, he says,
“Mon étoile, why don’t you wait here while I-”
Their first kiss tastes like rain and softness. Nile grips the arm of his coat and the hair at his nape. He tightens his arm to pull her in tighter, she fits there like she fits into his bones, his spirit. The back of his coat is soaked in rain when he pulls back to clear his throat.
“Why don’t you stay here while I go get the car?”
“As long as you make it quick.” She is smirking at him now, rubbing the tips of her fingers down his neck. He nods. He is back with the car in three minutes.
***
Thankfully their path is free of immortals when they reach the house. This means that he can push her against the railing and steal his breath back from her. He is quietly proud that she is already making small sounds of want. He wants to hear pleasure out loud. So he carries her up the rest of the stairs and into her bedroom.
The first time they make love their skin is still damp from the rain. Sebastièn undresses her with his eyes as much as his hands. Spends aching moments feeling her skin under his fingers, studying her shape in the glow. He thinks of how fitting it is to lay her by the fireplace. To watch her skin under that same glow and to know that she burns for him.
He leaves her jewelry on. It prides him to see her warm and adored. He hears her say, ‘’Hurry up love!” So he doesn’t.
He takes her slowly. Long moments spent with his mouth on her breast, his scalp tight as she pulled his hair. He tries to cover her skin in his love. He kisses her jaw, her shoulders. He strokes her spine every chance he gets. His hands squeeze her hips, her waist, her ass.  He feels her hands everywhere. She holds his biceps, his neck, his thighs. She kisses him like he stole the air from her lungs and he tries his best to breathe for her in every second.
When he moves down her body she tightens her thighs around him. He presses a hand under her knee. Moves to put her leg over his shoulder. He stops to bite her calf, to mold his mouth to her ankle. He lays his tongue against her heat until she cries. His tongue traces the words Adore, and L'amour across her lips until all he can taste is the honey she spills.
He runs his hands over every inch of her that he can reach, and when he’s sure she’s ready he moves his hips to her. Her mouth pressed up to his while he presses into her. He moves slowly to savor it, but cannot resist the heat of her around him. He is probably raining on her with his tears, but he feels her hands and her mouth on his face and knows that it doesn’t matter
Nile is sure that he would have bruises from her hands if they were anyone else. She listens to him whisper in French. Wonders if he knows that she understands when he calls her perfect. That she knows when he thanks her for gifting him a treasure. She rolls her hips into him, shifts their weight to push him flat on his back. She grins down at him and says that he belongs to her now.
They learn how to move together, not an instant tide. But instead a rhythm that they work for. They are both crying and laughing when the time comes. Her mouth against his neck and his hand rubbing circles against her heat. They lay there, chests heaving and limbs weak for…who knows how long. It could have been minutes, hours while she pushed his hair back and held him close. She would have laid there for days with his head against her breast. His mouth against hers. It is good, so they stay.
***
Two days after watching Antony die from love and hubris, she sees a gilded box from Chaumet at the foot of her bed. Nile opens the box first because she knows that the note is what he really has to say. She puts her newest gifts in her ears and  meets him on the balcony.
She puts herself into his lap like she belongs there, because she does. He already has breakfast ready for her. Nile looks at the bowl of her favorite fruits, the still-warm egg, the cheese croissant on the table next to his. The first kiss of the day is lazy and long. His hand behind her neck and her nails in his shoulder. Long sweeps of his tongue against hers, a small bite at the corner of her mouth. Their kisses are easy like their laughter, and as patient as the day is long. She pulls back only to look in his eyes.
“Good morning love,” she runs her nose along his jaw. His answer shakes her into laughter.
“Good morning Queen,” In her mirth, he presses their heads together, buries his nose behind her ear, breathes in the scent of her. Nile has her hand on his chest, counting the beats of his heart next to hers. There is a bird on their railing, and Sebastian feeds her from his hands as she listens to the bird sing up the dawn. It’s beautiful how much love lies in what he does. She could listen to the song in his chest while the earth makes all its turns.
She knows that eventually they will have to face the rest of their family. Endure their teasing brothers and smirking sisters. There will be hugs and smiles and money exchanged. But right now? Right now she feeds him the taste of strawberries from her tongue. They have time.
There is an unopened note on her bedside table. Later, when they’ve said I love you and promised forever, this is the note she will come back to. A vow that he whispers to her on their journey across centuries. It reads;
Egypt, thou knew’ st too well, My heart was to thy rudder tied by the’ strings, And thou shouldst tow me after. O’er my spirit Thy full supremacy thou knew’ st, and that Thy beck might from the bidding of the gods, Command me. - You knew just as I, that I have always been yours.

Robron/Emmerdale PLL AU
i can’t believe you made me do this anon ;(((( this is, obviously, a mess
in the fictional town of rosewood, pennsylvania, are four best mates: robert, adam, ellis and finn, whose clique falls apart after the disappearance of their leader, joe tate.
about a year later the four of them reunite after they all begin receiving messages from a mysterious figure named “A”, who threatens to expose their deepest secrets, secrets that only joe tate knew. they decide to call the police, convinced there mate is still out there somewhere, sending these messages. only he can’t be, because days later they find his body - and weeks later he’s laid to rest. they attend the funeral together, convinced that is the last of their torment and the last of their beloved friends, only as soon as the funeral draws to an end they all receive the same message, signed A.
they try getting on with their lives, settle back down in this town, find themselves girlfriends and boyfriends. and soon enough there are four established couples: ellis and amy, finn and aaron, adam and victoria, robert and chrissie.
only none of them are exceptionally good at commitment and all that. well, except finn he can’t seem to leave poor aaron alone. aaron who’s never had a boyfriend before. aaron who isn’t sure he ever wants another. aaron who robert thinks is extremely sexy.
things get complicated when chrissie turns out to be miss white, robert’s new art teacher. and that’s the end of that. only it’s not because instead she starts seeing andy, robert’s brother. apparently he’d had his eye on her from the beginning, which sounds about right.
the texts don’t stop, in fact they get worse. It’s now not only the four lads receiving them, but their partners too. which is why aaron ends up having a panic attack one day, with only him and robert left in the converted shed they use as a hangout. aaron drops his phone and reads the message. what he reads makes him feel sick, sick and hurt and angry on aaron’s behalf. It’s not the sort of secret anyone should expose - especially not A. he holds aaron for hours, does his best to bring him back down to reality, and then he shows aaron his own text - he can’t erase what aaron’s been through, but they can bond over thier hatred for arsehole dads.
but then something clicks for robert - the only person who could possibly know what his dad did to him when he caught him with the farm hand is andy. robert calls an emergency meeting and manages to get everyone on board with his theory - even chrissie. andy killed joe and is acting as A. so they spend the next few weeks trying to catch him out, following his every move. only it ends in disaster, as always. aaron gets pushed off the the bell tower by a less than incompetent finn who can’t distinguish aaron from andy. and robert’s crying for him.
aaron doesn’t die, thank god. but neither does andy.
andy can’t be A, he was away on a business meeting apparently, only there was someone else in the church that night - ross fucking barton. the group set up a trap for A and succeed in stealing his phone, eventually leading them to discover more clues which lead them to the lost woods resort, where ross is sat snogging the face off amy. and honest to god it’s a mess.
ross is sent to a mental institute to help him deal with his obsessive behaviours, and aaron and robert become closer and closer, so close that aaron spends more nights at robert’s house than he does at finn’s. and though ross has supposedly given up his A ways, the lads begin to get texts from A again, and they’re even more threatening than they were before.
in one instance it’s robert’s life being threatened and because A is so clever, they send the picture of robert tied and gagged to aaron. aaron who goes fucking mental - he smashes the place up and tells everyone, tells finn, he can’t lose robert. he just can’t because he fucking loves him. so he gets finn to track robert’s phone and breaks every speed limit to get there. and finn’s heart too.
only when he gets there it’s debbie he comes face to face with, aaron’s cousin debbie. he’s shocked and confused and distraught, but of course robert is there to help him through it. apparently, she was in on some sick twisted deal with ross and aaron hates them both.
weeks after debbie’s arrest, aaron and robert become official. no one likes it, but it’s not like anyone else has a leg to stand on really. only adam and vic, but of course they’re rooting for aaron and robert. they spend weeks in this happy blissful state. but then, you guessed, the texts start again.
soon enough the group come to believe that joe is, afterall, actually alive. they start receiving texts from both A, and a new one: red coat. they figure out that there are at least two red coats, one of which is noah dingle, who claims to be helping joe, who is alive, in danger, and also wearing a red coat.
i can’t actually remember the plot after this point. but let’s say someone comes in and tried to split aaron and robert up. there’s a few more near-death experiences. robert risks his life for aaron. aaron proposes to robert. finn never gets over aaron. chrissie white is sacked. adam is going guilty of helping a. vic bakes everyone cakes. ellis joins the police force but soon become a corrupt officer and amy has a sexuality crisis.
basically, to sum it up, joe is very much alive and the final, official, ring leader A was in fact …. doug potts
i’m joking, i’m joking, it was, of course, chrissie white’s secret sister, rebecca white.
aaron and robert live happily ever.
send me an au and i’ll give you 5+ headcanons about it

“So, we had kids?” You asked Dean from the backseat.
“Yeah. You said you would stop bringing it up.” Dean said as he drove into a random town to get some food.
“Sorry, I know I said that but Dean, you have to be honest with me, okay?” You said, being very serious.
“What is it, Y/N?” Dean asked with a sigh, parking the car. Sam chuckled and looked over at you and Dean with an amused smile.
“Was I still hot? Did having two kids ruin my body?” You asked, biting your lip.
“Oh, sweetheart, it was hard for me not to keep my hands off you.”
“And I’m out.” Sam said, taking the money from Dean’s hand before getting out of the car.
“Hey, don’t forget the extra onions this time, huh?” Dean said, making Sam roll his eyes.
“Sam, make them forget. We’re going to have to be the ones to ride with your extra onions.” You said, disgusted but Dean just smirked. Sam was about to leave again but Dean stopped him.
“Hey, see if they got pie. Bring me some pie!” Sam huffed out in annoyance and left, walking into the café. “I love me some pie.”
“I know you do. So, you couldn’t keep your hands off me, huh?” You asked with a grin, sliding closer to him from the backseat. He smirked and nodded, leaning in to kiss you but the radio on his car started to static, eventually turning off.
Dean sighed and leaned to the radio, messing with it to get it to turn back on but when he looked back at you, you were gone. You and Sam were gone and the lively town he drove into, was now an empty nest, full of the smell of death and sulfur.
You gasped as you woke up, looking around to where you were. You didn’t know how you got here or why you were or what even here was. You scrambled to get up, looking around the small room you were in. The windows were mostly boarded up but that didn’t stop light from peering inside through the slits.
You walked to the window, looking outside to see if you knew where you were or if Sam and Dean were okay. You couldn’t see much and started panicking. You took your phone out of your back pocket, going to dial Dean but frowned when you didn’t have service.
“Sam!!!! Dean!!!!” You yelled, hoping that you were close enough to hear you. You didn’t know if they were hurt or worse. You tried not to think about that as you figured out a way to get out. You walked to the door and mentally slapped yourself for not trying that first.
You pushed the door but it wouldn’t budge, so you tried to pull on it and it didn’t even budge. You knew that it swung outward and it felt as if something was keeping it from being opened. So, how the hell did you get in here if every exit was boarded up?
You sighed, looking around the room, wondering if you could use anything in here to break the board but found nothing. You looking at your hands and immediately, the light bulb went off in your head. You walked to the door and took a deep breath, closing your eyes.
You concentrated on bringing the powers you knew where there but never used. In all honesty, they scared the shit out of you. You knew, that with practice, they would become very powerful, making hunting a lot easier but a, you never had the time to practice them and b, you didn’t know what would happen if something went out of hand.
You remembered, almost a year ago, you lost control of them but that was when Dean was on his death bed after the crash. You could still remember that day as if it was yesterday and every time you thought about it, it made your heart heavy and your bones shake.
You tried to shake the images out of your head but once they were there, they were there and without anyone here to stop you, you had trouble making them go away on your own. With each image that passed by, you started to shake more and when you shook, you could feel the magic inside you, bubble up.
You tried to keep your cry of pain quiet and you shot your hands forward, pushing out every single ounce of magic through your hands and into the door. It was a weak door and broke easily under the pressure. You gasped and opened your eyes, not realizing you were crying.
You saw the door half broken, a big enough hole for you to get through. You wiped your eyes, pulling yourself together before exiting the small room. You frowned, taking in your surroundings. You were in an abandoned town that looked as if it hadn’t been in use for decades.
You looked around, seeing no one here.
“Sam!! Dean!!” You yelled out, hoping one of the brothers or both of them would come to your aid. When no one was seen or heard, you sighed, realizing you were on your own now. You walked through the town, occasionally looking through the windows of the stores to see if anyone was in there.
There wasn’t.
You didn’t have the time, your phone didn’t have any service and you had no idea where you were. Things were working out great, if anyone was wondering. You hoped Sam was okay. You knew Dean was at least alive because if he was dead, you probably would feel it.
Lately, or at least, ever since you started dating, you felt like you two were connected on a deeper level. You could sometimes feel what he was feeling and you knew when he was lying. You had no idea what it was but you knew he wasn’t dead which was a good thing. But you didn’t know if he was okay or not.
You rounded a corner, gasping when you saw a group of people, maybe 4 or 5, talking and freaking out. You didn’t know who they were but you were glad to see people. You just hoped there were no monsters here since you didn’t have any kind of weapons with you.
However, as you got closer, you recognized the tallest one there.
“Sam!” You yelled, running towards him. He turned around and his eyes widened, smiling in relief when he saw you. When you got to him, you wrapped your arms around him, hugging him tightly.
“I’m so glad you’re okay!” Sam said, releasing you after a few moments. You smiled up at him but before you could say anything, a black man came into your view and wrapped his hand around your throat. You gasped and your eyes widened, scratching at his hand to get him to let go.
“Hey!!” Sam said, prying his hand off your throat, before shoving him away. Sam put you behind him as you coughed, trying to get your breath back.
“What the hell, man?” You coughed, glaring at him. You didn’t like him at all. When you stood up straight, you saw the other 4 people staring at you with their eyes narrowed.
“What the hell was that, Jake?” Sam asked, angry.
“She needs to die.” He said, getting ready to go again. You rolled your eyes, not this again.
“Why does she need to die?” Sam asked, protecting you.
“The yellow-eyed man told us to. She can’t be alive and he ordered one of us to kill her. Now, move.” The brown-haired woman said.
“Ava, no, you’re not killing her. No one is killing her.” Sam said.
“Wait, that’s Ava?” You asked, looking at her.
“How do you know me?” She asked, confused.
“Sam, his brother and I spent weeks looking for you.” You said, worried what they might do to you.
“Well, you found me.” She said.
“Look, guys, no one is killing her, okay? Lily don’t you dare touch her.” Sam said.
“No promises.” The blonde woman said with an eye roll.
“What happens if she touches me?” You asked Sam.
“Your heart will stop beating. It happens when I touch someone.” Lily answered for Sam.
“It won’t work on me, anyways, remember Sam? Andy’s mind control didn’t work on me and neither did his brother’s. She won’t hurt me that way.” You said, relaxing a bit.
“What do you mean it won’t work on you?” The man who tried to kill you asked.
“Wait, more importantly, where did you come from?” Sam asked, turning around to look at you.
“I don’t know. One moment I’m with Dean in the car and the next, I wake up in some dusty room someone in this town. Where’s Dean? There’s no service.” You said, relaxing a bit when you saw the others back up a bit.
“I don’t know where he is.” Sam said, scared of what might have happened to him.
“Don’t worry, he’s not dead. I would feel it if he had.” You said, seeing the relief on his face.
“So, what is this place? Do you think it has anything to do with the demon?” You asked Sam.
“Wait, demon? Sam, I was a little on board with the whole psychic and mind bending thing but demons? Come on.” Ava said, scoffing.
“Look, I know it sounds crazy…”
“It doesn’t just sound it.” The man who tried to kill you said.
“Look, Jake, I don’t really care what you think, okay? If we’re all gathered here together, then that means it’s starting and that we have to get ready.” Sam said, talking about the war the yellow-eyed demon mentioned about. The war that you were messing up because you were alive.
“The only thing I’ve gotta do, is stay away from wackjobs, okay? I’ve heard enough. I’m better off on my own. FYI, so are you.” Jake said, turning around and walking away from the group.
“Wait! Jake!” Sam tried. Jake ignored him and continued walking until he disappeared from sight.
“Great, now what?” You asked. You were fine around Andy because you worked with him before but you didn’t know Ava all that well and you didn’t know Lily at all. You were going to be sticking with Sam and if Sam is somehow gone, then with Andy.
He didn’t seem like a threat before.
Suddenly, you heard a screeching noise and you looked at Sam who was already rushing to the source of the noise. You didn’t want to be caught with anyone else so you took off, catching up to Sam easily. You followed him into a building, seeing a little girl.
But she wasn’t any normal little girl. Her face was contorted into something ugly and her nails were outstretched, much like a tentacle. Jake, never have seen a demon before, was scared of what was going on. But Sam was quicker than most and grabbed an iron poker that he spotted by the door.
He swung at the girl, expecting her to dissolve, much like a spirit would. She did dissolve but not in the way you’d expect. Instead of disappearing, a cloud of black smoke was all that was left, exiting what looked to be a classroom of sorts.
Jake was staring at Sam with wide eyes and Sam threw the poker down, jerking his head to the side to move his hair out of his eyes.
“Just so you know, that was a demon.” Sam left the classroom and you followed quickly, walking ahead of him. You thought it would be best to put Sam in between you and the people who wanted to kill you.

COSTA BLANCA SCOOTERISTS HIT MOJACAR! has been published at http://www.theleader.info/2018/11/16/costa-blanca-scooterists-hit-mojacar/
New Post has been published on http://www.theleader.info/2018/11/16/costa-blanca-scooterists-hit-mojacar/
COSTA BLANCA SCOOTERISTS HIT MOJACAR!
Costa Blanca Scooterists  are a group of mainly British lads who meet twice-weekly based around Torrevieja. This Mojacar holiday CBS tour veterans Pete and John were joined by last year’s models Malc and Dave N. Eight newbies embarked this year: Barry, Fred, Steve T, Steve S, Keith, Chris, Dave S, and new CBS rookie Nigel. Sixteen were expected to leave Torrevieja on September 17th for five days, but by a strange combination of spills, ills, pills and chills, only 12 hardy souls actually reached Mojacar. There are two Mojacars:  the first, and best known is a small, beautiful  Almerian town perched high on a hill complete with white-washed houses, shops, bars and restaurants amid tiny winding streets. In addition a  ten-minute drive down to the sea awaits the other Mojacar - this coastal ‘resort’ completes the holiday picture with golden sands, water-sports, hotels, apartments, shops, bars & restaurants. Our first night was spent recovering from the highly-eventful journey. From our new resort home by the sea, after huge breakfasts the next day a local ride was enjoyed along the coast before winding up to explore the Old Town, parking on the outskirts. The mood rapidly became relaxed as CBS and Mojacar Old Town soon became friends. Day Three was an amazing biggie. Our leader ‘Peco’ Pete revealed a Wild West fascination and led the boys on a punishing ride inland to ‘Fort Bravo’, arriving at high noon. This is a Spaghetti Western cowboy town built in the middle of nowhere. From the main road the possee descended bumpily down a dusty old river bed before climbing sharply up a hill. A quick haggle at the entrance gate and the CBS Vesparados rode into town. Dismounting, the Dirty Dozen headed for the noisy packed saloon from where screams and gunfire could be heard. Here wild women were dancing on the bar, and violent card games and gunfights between four Iberian cowboys were the order of the day.  The visiting cowboys then proceeded to explore all the many Western buildings around, then back to the saloon, outside this time, as another  gunfight on horseback raged - amid a few large drops of rain... Soon it was time to saddle up and head back to Boot Camp. Riding back down the sharp slope we strangely encountered a line of stationary cars  - why? We soon found out: that dry little river bed we came in on had turned into a muddy brown torrent, twenty feet at least across, looking at least a foot deep, cutting us off nicely from home. Earlier, high up in them ‘thar hills the rain had really come down, and was doing what water does - going downhill fast.... It was dodgy even for cars - now what? Eventually the fast brown flow seemed to be subsiding slowly when a French campervan  suddenly broke ranks, and amid cheering slowly safely crossed the great divide. A few cars then followed. -but what will we do? Cometh the hour, cometh the man. Dave ‘Super-Spanner’ Solan was heard to mutter ’Fook this’ in broad Mancunian and revved up his 1965 Vespa 150 Sprint. Steadily through went Cool Hand Luke, even casually lifting his feet high to avoid getting them wet. Huge cheers from everyone, including the remaining car owners, deep respect.   Now we all proceeded to cross the Brown Sea one by one to great applause, each later admitting to huge doubts and squeaky bums as to their chances of crossing the water without falling in. But, praise the Lord we were all safely delivered, and Pete’s twelve disciples set off for home, again armed with much fun and frolics to drink over and relish that evening. The third and final full day was to ‘Keep The Faith’, so that morning CBS met up with the local yokels, i.e. ‘The Mojacar Soul and Scooter group ‘. Andy and Michelle, Tony and Jackie, and Graham were a friendly crowd who took us on a great run inland. ‘MSS’ then showed us how to arrive in Mojacar town on two wheels, just by-passing those irritating car-blocking metal railings straight up to the little central square. You smile at everyone, and even make friends with the local friendly policeman, who even allowed us to take photos of him suitably adorned with a CBS group sticker (we always leave our mark). Our new MSS friends took us up to a fantastic open-air restaurant with wonderful 360 degree views to die for, and we dined well together. Was our meet-and-greet day over? No sir, our new friends had laid on a disco evening with our kind of music at the Al-Oha bar down by the sea, conveniently staggering distance from our comfortable accommodation. A great last evening was enjoyed, all thanks the lads and lasses from Mojacar Soul and Scooter group. Oh yes, we Kept The Faith... The weather had been brilliant, and the last day dawned fair once more. So with heavy hearts, full tanks and bellies CBS set off back home. This time the ride was much less eventful, lovely scenery as we hugged the coast before joining the quietest toll-heavy motorway in the world back to Cartagena, so armed once more with a whole host of stories to recount the Torrevieja Twelve returned home safely to our loved ones, - another great CBS tour. Now, about next year... John Mac

10 Movies To Accompany You As You Stay Home In Your PJ's When Going Through A Break Up
Break ups are one of those things in life that almost all of us have had to endure. Whether it was mutual or not, it can hit you hard and those initial few days or weeks can be tough to get through.
Seeking refuge under the covers or sprawled out on the sofa with a pint of ice cream is pretty cliché but it’s actually one of the things we all should do to help heal ourselves.
But this article isn’t going to give you that magic bit of advice on how to get over a break up. Instead it’s going to provide you with the 10 best down-to-earth movies to keep you company while you have a cry, curl up on the couch in your PJs and feast on the questionable leftovers you found at the back of the fridge.
1. John Tucker Must Die
John Tucker is a serial cheater and when three of his scorned ex-girlfriends get together, they decide to reap revenge by setting him up for heart break with the new girl in town. As the title aptly shows – revenge is sweet.
Revenge is sweet: Although going through the motions during a break up is important and revenge is a phase we may contemplate, this movie should be taken with a pinch of salt. However, the comedy element will hopefully leave you feeling better after seeing some girls taking revenge on their ex.
2. The Break Up
This is a story about Chicago couple Gary and Brooke. The opening of the movie takes us through their first meeting and subsequent blossoming relationship but picks up at the point where their relationship is starting to break down. Showing the reality of a bitter divide, we see the couple fight over their luxury condo and the break up getting more and more ugly.
The best form of love is to love yourself: This film doesn’t sugar-coat love like the majority of romantic movies. Instead it serves as a reminder that falling out of love and breaking up with someone that doesn’t care for you is much better. It will help you see that not all relationships are meant to last and you’ve just got to love yourself and move on to find another person who’s more of a perfect match.
3. 500 Days of Summer
An offbeat romantic comedy about a woman (Summer) who doesn’t believe true love exists, and a guy (Tom) who falls madly in love with her. Tom believes deeply in the concept of soul mates, and thinks he’s finally found his. Undaunted and undeterred by his breezy lover’s casual stance on relationships, Tom summons all of his might and courage to pursue Summer and convince her that their love is real.
There is no such thing as ‘The One’: This is a movie that shows that love doesn’t always work out how we expect it to. It can be unrequited, messy and sometimes feels like a let down. Just because we love someone deeply and share the same interests, it doesn’t mean they are the perfect one for us. Go with the flow, detach and let life send you someone when you’re complete and ready.
4. A Lot Like Love
Two friends Oliver and Emily first met when they were college students sharing a flight from California to New York. Emily spontaneously seduced Oliver on the plane, and they spent the next few days together in the city. When they parted, Emily was not keen to pursue a relationship with Oliver even though he was interested. Over the next several years, fate kept bringing them back into each other’s paths and they remained close friends, while still certain that they aren’t meant for each other. Eventually, after nearly a decade, with both Oliver and Emily edging into their thirties, they begin to wonder if they’ve allowed a great opportunity to pass them by.
Timing is everything. If it’s meant to be it will be: Sometimes relationships are just bad timing and shouldn’t be forced. We need to let go, detach and carry on with our lives. Only then, if it’s meant to be, will that relationship come back to you.
5. How To Be Single
A group of young women going through different phases of life, navigate love and relationships in New York City. Alice temporarily dumps her college boyfriend Josh and moves to New York City to be a paralegal. She moves in with her sister, Meg, an OB/GYN who refuses to have a baby or any form of relationship. Alice befriends wild co-worker Robin, who enjoys partying and one-night stands, and local bartender Tom, who wilfully embraces the bachelor lifestyle and hooks up with various women including Alice. Tom meets Lucy at his bar when she uses his Internet for free. She explains she is looking for “The One” using various dating sites.
Move on and get back out there: This is a rare gem of a film because it truly celebrates the positives of being single. It highlights the need to really use this single time to get to know yourself, free of men and the need to be with someone to feel whole and complete. The ending to the film celebrates independence without implying that we should all become cave-dwelling hermits who live off foraged roots and rainwater. The end scenes encourage the viewer to use the power of their own interpretation and the positive views of accepting the scary excitement of where life will take you next.
6. Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Devastated Peter takes a Hawaiian vacation in order to deal with the recent break-up with his TV star girlfriend, Sarah. Little does he know, Sarah’s travelling to the same resort as her ex – and she’s bringing along her new boyfriend.
One for the guys out there: Men can sometimes deal with a break up differently to their female counterparts and usually involves distraction, mishaps and bad decisions. This comedic movie will show you the lighter side of getting over a painful break up and help you laugh along the way.
7. Bridget Jones’s Diary
Bridget Jones (Renee Zellweger) is an unattached 30-something who realizes she’s got to change her life. After a New Year’s Eve, she vows that this new year is the one in which she’ll get her act together. She’ll lose weight, she’ll smoke and drink less, and she’ll document it all in a diary.
Complicating everything is Bridget’s attraction to her boss, Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant), a man of questionable character. They launch an affair and Bridget falls for him head over heels, only to realise later that her feelings aren’t reciprocated, when her boss gets engaged to another woman. Thrown into the mix is barrister Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), who admittedly finds Bridget attractive but whom Bridget finds repulsive.
It won’t be until Bridget clearly sees the truth about Daniel, that she also clearly sees Mark for the man he is, and her feelings for him for what they really are.
Live it with someone who’s been there and done that: Love lives can be complicated and sometimes when you’re going through bad times, you need that kind of film that’ll just be your break-up buddy. Bridget Jones is someone who you’ll easily identify with and make you feel less alone in what you’re going through.
8. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
After a painful breakup, Clementine (Kate Winslet) undergoes a procedure to erase memories of her former boyfriend Joel (Jim Carrey) from her mind. When Joel discovers that Clementine is going to extremes to forget their relationship, he undergoes the same procedure and slowly begins to forget the woman that he loved.
When you just need to cry it out: This is one movie that will tug at your heartstrings, pour on the nostalgia and change everything you think you know about love.
9. Celeste & Jesse Forever
Longtime sweethearts Celeste (Rashida Jones) and Jesse (Andy Samberg) married young, but are now drifting apart. Celeste is an ambitious business owner, while Jesse has a more laid-back attitude toward life and work. Celeste wants a divorce and believes that she and Jesse can remain friends. Jesse passively goes along with her plans, even though he is still in love with her. However, as the reality of their separation sinks in, Celeste begins to have second thoughts.
Are you contemplating a friendship with your ex?: When we don’t want to lose our ex completely, we often contemplate a friendship in order to keep them in our lives. Watch this film and you’ll rethink what it means to be friends with an ex.
10. He’s Just Not That Into You
In Baltimore, five women and four men try to sort out the signals that the sexes exchange. Gigi imagines every man she meets is Mr. Right; she gets reality checks from Alex, a sweet but cynical saloon keeper. Janine and Ben seem solidly married until he chats with Anna in a market checkout line; meanwhile Anna is indifferent to the pursing Conor. Neil and Beth have been together seven years; she dumps him when she realises he really and truly isn’t going to marry her.
When you just need a bit of a reality check to move on: This movie shows the misinterpretations of human behaviour for which the majority of us are blind to when we’re in love. These interconnecting stories show and deal with the challenges of different situations which may help to give you that reality check you need to move on.
If you’re going through a break up right now, give yourself permission to get those comfy PJs on, reach for the junk food and put on a film that will help you along your emotional journey and eventually get back on track.

Questions In A World of Blue: TP The Return - Part 6
I’m not sure why it is that I’m having such a hard time bringing myself to write about these new episodes of Twin Peaks. It’s not that I don’t want to. I do want to, and quite often, I find myself thinking about all the things that I want to say. And maybe that’s the problem -- either I’ve already thought it out all out in my head, so writing it down seems redundant, or maybe it’s just that there’s so much that I want to say that the thought of sitting down to write it seems kind of overwhelming.
Whatever the reason, I promised myself that I was going to write something about this episode, because at six hours into this series, we should not be at about the end of the first act. And while it’s hard to say for sure if that’s the case until we can actually see the overall shape of the story, I have to admit it does kind of feel that way.
Particularly in the sense that all the balls of the story seem to be in the air at this point. And while it’s still difficult to see how everything might fit together, at least there’s the sense that we can see everything.
And in seeing everything, it seems that there are three primary storylines playing out here -- Dougie Cooper, Bad Cooper, and the town of Twin Peaks. So let’s break those down.
“Okay, Dougie, you’re acting weird as shit.”
We’ll start with Dougie Cooper, because that’s really the story we’ve spent the most time with in the last few weeks. So what’s the deal with Dougie Cooper? Well, it seems that when Dale Cooper exited the Black Lodge, he swapped places with a fellow named Dougie Jones, who may have been an artificial being created by Bad Cooper for that very purpose -- forcing Dale to swap with Dougie instead of Bad Cooper.
Since emerging from the lodge and taking over Dougie’s life, Cooper has had a hard time integrating, as his ability to communicate and interact with the world is severely limited. Dougie Cooper mostly communicates by repeating words and phrases that are said to him. Certain phrases seem to have more meaning to him, specifically those linked to his former life as an FBI Agent. For example, he reacts to words like “Agent”, “Case Files”, and a statue of what appears to be some kind of lawman.
So while it seems clear that Cooper is gradually awakening (something he should do quickly, as the one-armed man seems to be urging him to do in this most recent episode -- “Wake up!,” he says. “Don’t die.”), it’s not entirely clear why he’s in this infantile state. The general consensus seems to be that it’s a result of having spent the last 25 years in the Lodge and not as a part of reality, but I have an alternate theory that it might be a result of his swapping with Dougie rather than his doppleganger. Given that Dougie is an artificial creation, Cooper’s return might not have gone the way it was meant to.
Speaking of the words “Cooper” and “Return”, and also speaking of Dougie, I had another flash of inspiration during the last episode. I shared the idea on Twitter last Sunday, and while someone responded that the theory was well established, I actually haven’t seen it anywhere, so I’m going to go into it (briefly) here.
In all the discussion and promotion of this new season of Twin Peaks, Showtime has been really adamant about not referring to it as season three. Instead, they refer to it as Twin Peaks - The Return. I don’t think that’s a coincidence.
At first it looks like “The Return” is meant to describe the show returning to the air after 25 years, and that’s probably true to at least a certain extent. But I now think that’s actually a subtitle, in the same way that the feature film was called Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. And I’m beginning to think that the reason it’s the subtitle is that it’s ultimately about Cooper coming out from the Lodge.
What this means to me is that, while I had first expected Dougie Cooper to be a brief detour, I wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t see the real Cooper emerge until at least the end of Act 2, so another six episodes from now. And while I suspect that might frustrate some people, if it allows us to spend a bit more time pursuing some of the other storylines that have been neglected lately, like what Bad Cooper’s plans are.
“I missed you in New York.”
It seems like some of the biggest questions that emerged from the first episode of this new season -- the questions around what Bad Cooper was up to -- have kind of disappeared in the weeks since then. We’re no closer to knowing who he was talking to on his weird briefcase phone (Phillip Jeffries or not?) or what he had to do with the murder of the librarian that was pinned on the principal in South Dakota. But I’m confident that all those things are just bubbling under the surface ready to explode.
For example, Bad Coop is now being held in the very penitentiary that he was planning to travel to in order to find his former partner who, reportedly, had gained some information from the principal’s secretary -- coordinates of some kind -- that Bad Cooper wanted. It seems to me the fact that they’re now both in the same place would be fairly relevant but we have yet to see anything about it.
And now that we’re fairly certain that the male body that was found next to the librarian’s head was that of Garland Briggs, there’s the question of how the body got there 25 years after he supposedly died in a fire, and what Bad Coop might have done with it, and why the voice on Bad Coop’s briefcase phone that might have been Phillip Jeffries seemed so concerned that he had spoken with Briggs.
And then there were the words, “I missed you in New York,” that the same voice spoke to Bad Coop, which makes me wonder if Bad Coop and / or Jeffries might have something to do with the glass box from the first episode that we’ve heard almost nothing about since then. It’s pretty much the only story that’s occurred in New York. It would seem that there must be some connection there.
“Something is missing and you have to find it.”
And what does Twin Peaks have to do with all this? For a show with the town’s name right there in the name of the show, our visits to Twin Peaks seem to have little if anything to do with what’s going on everywhere else. I’d like to think that eventually things will connect back to the little community where this madness all began, but until more info is available, it’s damn near impossible to predict how it’s going to happen.
There is one thing worth mentioning though, and that is Hawk’s pursuit of something that is missing. Hawk received a message from the Log Lady in the very first episode, telling him that he was going to have to find something related to Agent Cooper, and that his heritage would help him find it.
After six episodes of Hawk, Andy, and occasionally Lucy flipping through case files relating to Cooper, it looks like he finally found something, and it wasn’t anything to do with the case files. In fact, it had something to do with the sherriff’s station’s bathroom.
Inside a stall door, which was labelled with a Nez Perce logo (which is the indigenous group that Hawk is related to) Hawk finds what appears to be a handful of papers that looks suspiciously like something torn out of a diary. Like, I don’t know, maybe Laura Palmer’s diary. Remember her?
Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me makes a pretty convincing argument of what could be contained in those pages. There’s a scene where Laura, in the midst of a dream or a vision, is visited by Annie Blackburn. Annie tells her, "My name is Annie, and I've been with Laura and Dale. The good Dale is in the Lodge, and he can't leave. Write it in your diary."
If we assume that Laura wrote it in her diary, and that Bad Coop, after emerging from the Lodge, tore those diary pages out and hid them in the bathroom stall, then we know how they got there. And Hawk, who knows the legend of the Lodge, and how one must confront their own shadow self there, might understand the message that the Cooper who emerged is not actually Cooper.
But assuming that happens, I’m still not sure how that’ll connect to what’s going on elsewhere. As far as anyone in Twin Peaks is concerned, Coop is still missing. Will his sudden appearance in South Dakota make its way back to town allowing Hawk to help the investigation? Or will the key to Cooper’s room at the Great Northern that has been dropped in the mail, and will be arriving back in Twin Peaks any day now, help steer someone from town towards investigating the situation with Dougie Cooper in Las Vegas?
Or will the goings on in Twin Peaks continue to be weirdly disconnected from everything else going on in the show?
For now, the questions outweigh the answers, but I guess that’s what keeps us coming back for more.
“Diane.”
Oh, also we finally met Diane. She’s played by Laura Dern, which is awesome beyond my ability to express. That is all.
