also i have doubts that they would have tai feature heavily in a volume again but i really want him to meet up with the gang in vauco bc i want ruby to get a hug from her dad. please. just let this girl get a good cry in about everything she's been through and have her dad hug her afterwards
#rwby#rwby spoilers#like ik its not gonna happen but in my head i want rwby+j to crash their own funerals and have their tearful reunions#(nora must tackle hug jaune i just know it)#and then yang just shoves ruby at tai and qrow like PLEASE TALK TO HER ABOUT SELF WORTH#and ruby's all 'no i'm fine it's okay!' and wbyj just. looks at her. and yang just says 'please for me' and ruby relents#and just. lays everything on her dad who hugs her and crys with her and tells her she did everything she could and hes proud#and qrow can pat her on the head and tell her that it may feel like everything thats gone wrong is her fault but its not#please let this girl get some emotional support from the two adults she can trust at all PLEASE let this girl hug her dad and her uncle#i know she chose herself and had her realization that ruby rose is enough but i think it would help for her to hear that#from the two men she admired as a child#anyways. thats my little fanon thing thatll live forever in my head until we get vol 10#and afterwards she can talk to weiss yang blake about her breakdown and get reassurance from her team again and everybody hugs hooray#seriously though if nora doesnt see jaune and immediately sprint towards him at full speed to tackle him to the ground in a hug#immediately followed by ren who hugs them both as everyone cries then WHAT is the point

ok i just beat lucia's campaign. it's like 5 missions shorter has an actual story and is like. wayyyy less painful
#'has an actual story' - to clarify i mean that the emotional beats of the plot even in dante's campaign#all have to do with lucia saying she has a conflict and being upset and stuff#and dante has nothing but i guess like. the story matier wants to tell him about sparda?#anyway there's almost no aerial bosses and the unique levels/areas were alright#lucia was fine to fight as and i kinda like her. her story's not that unique or interesting but i think she's the best part of this game#maybe her campaign was easier/less painful for me bc i largely knew what i was doing at that point?#and also my expectations were pretty low from dante's campaign so like. pleasant surprise#if i felt like replaying it i'd probably just stick to lucia's campaign#oh also a correction: it appears as though the timing-based sword combos ARE a thing in this one#at the very least they are with lucia. i'd assume with dante as well but whatever#i think when i was trying to find out if there was one i was going for similar cadences to dmc1#which meant i didn't find any and assumed they weren't there. i really did try yk but i missed smth#anyway yea. dmc3 time babeyy#dmc#update my game crashed immediately after credits so i had to do the final fight again lol#nbd but yeah task manager has been saving me from dmc2 a lot.. maybe it's just a shit port who knows#ALSO dante's DOES have the timing combo thing. once again i don my dunce cap#also why is hers so much shorter?? is it like. misogyny or what#i get that she's not the mc but you gave her a disc you might as well go all in i figure#anyway. silly. time for dmc3 hooray

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
decorating the tree
he likes decorating the tree with you. hanging up the shiny ornaments, covering the tree in the colorful lights, and hanging up the star at the end. at first, he thought decorating some pine tree was silly and unnecessary. but now, he sees the appeal. and he loves it. he asked you if you wanted to decorate another. which is why you both were outside in the snow, decorating the dead trees in front of ramshackle. you’re freezing your ass off, and he’s having the time of his life. hooray.
cater, jack, jade, vil, silver
gingerbread men + houses
the two of you stood in the kitchen, baking enough gingerbread men to make an army. while you two decorated the gingerbread men, he took some frosting and put it on your cheek. he laughs while you get him back, putting frosting on his nose. this puts a temporary pause in the decorating, and becomes an all out frosting war. nobody comes out unscathed. after awhile, you two began to make gingerbread houses. there wasn’t much frosting left, so both of your houses were falling apart. great job guys.
ace, trey, ruggie, floyd, jamil, lilia
wrapping presents
you two sat in the middle of ramshackle, wrapping presents side by side. wrapping paper, tape dispensers, and ribbons were everywhere. scattered across the already messy floor. even if your gift wrapping is really bad, he’s still going to compliment you. telling you he’s not the best even if it’s absolutely perfect. at first he wanted to bring the gift he got for you and wrap it right in front of you, just to show off how well he knows you. i know, i know, he’s impatient. but he made sure it looked FLAWLESS just for you 🫶🫶
riddle, deuce, azul, jade, jamil, sebek
all. all of the above
he’s ready. he’s going to make sure this christmas is is the holliest jolliest one you’ve ever had. oh, it’s not? then he’s pulling out the big guns. christmas inflatables!!1!1!!1!1
grim, rook, epel, ortho, malleus
chilling by the fireplace
christmas traditions are great and all, but he’d rather relax. and you both do just that. laying on the couch in ramshackle, surprised that the fireplace hasn’t burnt down your dorm yet. despite the shock, it really was quite relaxing. of course he wasn’t going to be a grinch and NOT do christmas traditions with you, but just stay here with him for a second. you can decorate your tree and cookies and stuff later. it’ll be you, him, and the fire for the next 30 minutes.
leona
christmas event
christmas traditions??? in a minute, he’s on the grind. he NEEDS this christmas skin and now. listen, he loves you. he truly does. but your normie activities can wait, right? this is a limited skin. these things can’t earn themselves. as soon as december 26th hits, it’s bye bye for that event. til he gets his event items, he’s not moving from his room.
idia
BONUS : MISTLETOE
you were just finished cleaning up after the activity you both did together, when he suddenly calls you over. he’s standing by the doorway, looking right at you. just by that, you could tell why he wants you over. with a smile, you walk over to him, trying to act oblivious to his intentions.
“remember when you said when two people meet under the mistletoe, they kiss?” he asks, a playful smirk on his face. you pretend to think about it before looking back at him. “hmm.. yes. why?”
he points up to the mistletoe hanging above both of your figures. without a second to spare, he crashes his lips onto yours.
the lighting in the room created a warm and light glow, capturing the both of you in an ambient setting. the temperature was still incredibly low inside of ramshackle, but allow his body warmth to keep you from freezing.

sinful irony.
adam x fem! reader.
summary: Your forced into a Christian camp because of your mothers lies to her church friend. But after you see her son your sold. Only question is how do you seduce her Christian son or what if you already have?
cw/tw/tags: SMUT, porn with plot, camp counsellor au, m masterbation, oral f receiving, p in v, degrading, use of the word daddy, slight public sex, sort of dubious consent, mentions of pregnancy, virgin adam, adam is my own warning!! let me know if I've missed anything cause i'm SO tired!!
!a/n: i'm not liking this at all but i just want it done!! so i hope at least someone finds this enjoyable cause the formatting is killing me cause I tried to make all the text small and it kept crashing my tumblr so I’m done!! fuck being aesthetic I guess!! @sniigura
Eden camp where all teens went to learn how to be a better Christian’s and in all honesty there was no place better to go and as camp approached Adam was uncertain on what it would entail. He had perfected most if not all of the activities they did when he was a camper so now it was time to flex his skills to a bunch of teens and teach them what is right and what is wrong. Although his ideas of what right and wrong might be a bit misconstrued?
Maybe if his childhood was remotely normal he would have been a normal adult that goes out partying and drinks a shitload of alcohol during the summer but instead his pretentious mother had convinced him to be a youth leader at camp this year. Let’s give three big hoorays for Sera and her amazing ideas!
Adam was excited to an extent, but then there was Lucifer. The slimey son of a bitch who stole not one but two of his ex girlfriends. You can’t really come back from that and to top it all off he was the one that Adam was leading the boys Cabin with. The fact he’d even have to be in the vicinity of and share air with that fucker made his skin crawl with disgust l.
At least he had his best friend Lute would be there who was trying her best so keep her composure after being assigned a cabin with Lilith. Lucifers soon to be wife and Adam’s first ex girlfriend. If you could even call her that. The relationship was off? To say the least. And if it couldn’t get any worse Eve would be there. Of course she would, when this all started they were happily in love and talked about how going away and teaching at a camp for a couple weeks would be so beneficial to their relationship. But alas she would be there.
Sweet Eve, who wouldn’t love the ever loving, beautiful church girl? The girl who’d foster baby birds back to health after they fell from their nest and would go out of her way to help lost children in the supermarket find there parents. Adam. Adam did not love her. In fact he despised her in a way. Okay maybe not despised but it’s hard to love the girl who cheated on you with your ex best friend and ex girlfriend. Just because you never slept together!!
He kind of wished as the days approached that Eve would get into some horrific accident so he wouldn’t have to face her. As horrible as that sounds.
He just couldn’t imagine having to face them all after he walked into Eve’s apartment that day to them fucking like bunnies. It was a sight for sore eyes and as much as it hurt Adam to let go of Eve and all they’d been through together he couldn’t seem to make peace with the fact she’d sought out others and ended the relationship a week later. They still saw each other of course in places like University, church and most importantly the youth group they started running together in their senior year of high school for young teens wanting to learn about Jesus.
He should have just found a new youth group and started assisting there but Sera talked him out of it. She spewed nonsense about how the kids loved him and needed him and he was a great asset to their church. And with his ego boosted he continued as he was like nothing happened. But now camp was approaching where all he would see are these people and he couldn’t exactly ignore them.
Just then his phone pinged. The name read mom. Not that Adam ever called her that anyway.
[Mom]: Hello Adam, as camp is approaching I thought it would be a good idea for yous who are leading to set up a group chat. I have forwarded your number to the girl who is sharing a cabin with Eve and she’s going to set up a group. She looks forward to meeting you.
[Adam]: ok ma thanks for letting me know
That was all Adam sent. He didn’t want to start anything with her or further continue the conversation so he just let it be as it was. As he scrolled the through his socials he saw a couple messages pop up.
As he scrolled through the messages he picked up on the girls name. She seemed cool enough but no photos indicating what she looked like. There was her full name though. So without a second thought Adam searches your full name into instagram and only one account comes up. So he clicked and oh fuck.
She looked gorgeous. Her photos emanating how flawless she truly was. She surely didn’t look the part of a Christian camp leader though. How did she even get this gig? One of the requirements was being Christian.. He knew that for certain. Maybe he had her mistaken. Surely she was better than what she led on.. right? That’s at least what Adam hoped as he turned his phone off and threw it somewhere on his bed and did his best to fall asleep. It was in vain though, fuck were you pretty.
Adam ripped down his boxers and rubbed at his member. He massaged his fingers over his tip and groaned as he pushed his head back into his pillows.
How did you have such an effect on him? Some prostitute looking whore who looked like she’s flash her tits to anyone. Adam wanted nothing more than to knock some decency into you. No well respected girl dresses like that. Right?
As Adam groaned again moving his fingers up and down his dick before fixating on the base. It felt good in a way. The pleasure Adam felt was indescribable but it was only pleasure he got from himself. He had never actually had sex.
It’s not like it was that big of a deal. So what if he hadn’t fucked a bitch, who needs to do that anyway? Not him, that’s for sure.
He had come close though. Not with Lilith even kissing Lilith was a struggle for the both of them and quite frankly was something they did a handful of times but with Eve he delved further. It did take them a while. Adam didn’t want to give into his unholy urges so he held out, like any responsible Christian boy would do.
Eve seemed understanding though he could sense her disappointment when he pulled away before they even got the chance to make out. He could see the looks of despair and how distant she acted after he turned down her further advances. She never communicated this verbally to him but he could sense it. He knew she longed for more and in a way it made him feel like she had the right to cheat. He always reassured himself that her decision was selfish and he had no reason to feel bad for someone’s wrong actions but sometimes late at night when he’s alone with his thoughts he wonders what would have happened if he’d just given in. Maybe then he wouldn’t be alone and she’d be here with him.
He remembers when he did give in though. They were in his apartment and they were making out. An odd occasion that Adam didn’t often indulge in. Our he wanted to appease her so he went along and her carried away. They undressed and hadn’t do en thought twice of the consequences until Sera had barged in. How she’d gotten in was beyond Adam bjr he was lectured for weeks after it and was made to go to confession to confess his sinful actions. From then on him and Eve went back to stage 1 which consisted on an arm wrapped around her while they watched movies, band holding and little pecks ok the lips. He could tell she was unsatisfied with how things had to be though.
Adam felt his dick twitch and could feel he was close to climax as he kept massaging his cock. He wishes you were here with him to help him. Wait no he didn’t? He didn’t even know you. Bur still you were beautiful. At least to Adam and as he kept rubbing he felt climax reaching and he let it cumming all over his hand and sheets.
He let himself feel the pleasure for a .2 seconds before the guilt settled in. He felt it in his gut the overwhelming sense of dread. What did he just do?
He immediately got up and wakes to the bathroom running the tap and squirting 5 pumps of soap onto his hands and lathering it, rubbing his hands together and soaking them under water and repeating the ritual 2 more times. He calms himself who’re returning to the side of his bed and gets down on his knees at the side of the bed and bows his head.
Adam prays. He prays for forgiveness and to help him overcome his lust. He prays and prays until he finally doesn’t feel ridden with guilt and gets up and turns on his TV. He pots on whatever show he can find and turns down the volume. It drowns out his thoughts and puts him to sleep quicker.
And just like that the days flew past and Adam was now boarding a bus. It was loud and full of teens who seemingly had bundles of energy even though it was 7am. Adam was trying to hype himself up while sipping the coffee Lute and him bought on the way here. It was going to be a long ride full of attempts to sleep and failing because whoever the fuck on the back of the bus is playing 2000s white girl tunes and screaming them like a banshee. He wasn’t going to say anything he was happy enough. Especially that he didn’t even have to ask to be sat with Lute on the ride there. Usually you were made to sit with whoever you were sharing a cabin with but under the circumstances Adam was allowed to sit with Lute and Lucifer and Lilith sat together instead.
He was happy enough with the arrangement and stuck his headphones in. Lute was already sat by the window scrolling away on her phone. It was too early to expect her to socialise and in all honesty he didn’t want to socialise either. He needed sometime to recoup to even be able to physically live when he’d be sharing a room with Lucifer and a bunch of rowdy teenage boys for the next couple weeks.
It wouldn’t be terrible especially not when the pretty girl he masterbated too with sitting across the aisle from him. Though she was chatting up his ex girlfriend Eve and for a split second he wished he was her instead. What is he even thinking? He turns away from you and unlocks his phone scrolling through whatever he can to keep himself occupied as they set off.
You had noticed Adam. In fact you’d found yourself into him the moment you met his mother at your parents house.
You were visiting for the afternoon when you met Sera. She was a tall, elegant woman who held herself well, with dark skin and vitiligo on her cheeks and white almost luminescent eyes and lashes that made them stand out even more. She was slender and had the most beautiful grey ringlet curls you had ever seen. This is was Sera? You kind of assumed Sera was some blonde bitch who had several different baby daddies and lived off church’s money but this lady carries herself with dignity and was self assured.
She was delighted to meet you, said she’d heard so much about you. You were sure she hadn’t though. Your parents had a habit of lying when it came to you. You felt guilty that you weren’t the daughter they envisioned but they weren’t the parents they envisioned themselves to be either. So you sat there indulging in your parents lies. It was somewhat comical of how much they came up with. But what can you say it was funny. Key word was. When she started talking about how her sons Christian camp needed more leaders you felt your stomach drop.
You had half the mind to tell her your parents had been lying for years and you were in fact nor the perfect, church going daughter she had envisioned and having your parents be blackballed from the church community. But you played it off and said you would think about it and expressed pity. She looked delighted and told you her son has just broken up with his girlfriend a couple months ago. How he was perfect marriage material and how you two would make a lovely couple.
Your head was spinning. Okay first this ladies trying to convince you to go to some random camp and help out there and now she’s talking about marrying you into her family? She’s crazy especially when she brought up about her son being a virgin.
‘His names Adam and I think you too would get along great.’ She chimed and she sipped on some of the tea your mother had brewed a couple of minutes prior who stood by the counter sipping a cup of coffee looking on edge. Probably in case you slipped up on some heinous lie she told.
‘I’m sure he’s great.’ You smiled at her sipping away at your own coffee and internally trying to keep yourself sane.
‘Here look.’ She said momentarily pausing while flipping through her phone and pulling up a photo of her what you thought was going to be her dorky, repressed loser ass son who would probably live in his mothers basement till she died and he finally could have access to the whole house. But looking at the photo..
He was sexy and what can you say? You were easily bought. It helped you in other ways too!! Like you get extra credit from your university for working with kids. Totally justifiable. At least that’s what you told yourself. Damn you didn’t think you’d have a thing for conservative, Christian virgins but here you are on a bus to a Christian camp with one goal in mind. Fucking Sera’s son.
You sat down across the aisle from him and introduced yourself to Eve. You had spoken to her once or twice over text message and a couple times more in your camp counsellor group chat. But seeing her in person was a different experience.
She was etheral and you couldn’t help but feel inferior to a girl with such good looks and personality. She had dark skin and her hair was pulled into box braids. Her eyes were a deep chocolate coloured brown and looked soft. She had large breast and wide hips and stomach rolls.
She was beautiful and her smile radiated happiness as she introduced herself. She seemed happy and in her environment. She seemed the type of person who could be placed anywhere and just fit.
She told you all about her youth group and how she ran it with her now ex boyfriend. Adam.
Looking at her surely that couldn’t have been right? She was Adams ex girlfriend? She was gorgeous. The definition on beauty nobody could compare to what she looked like. It made sense though someone as gorgeous as her needed somebody to match her. And Adam and her fit like puzzle pieces intertwined they complimented each other insanely well. And he never had sex with her? If she even mentioned the word sex she would have been pinned to the bed immediately. You couldn’t understand why Adam would reject her sexual advances. Surely she’d made some, so why did he say no to her? She was the kind of woman who could make Victoria secret models feel inadequate. You wondered if that was why they had broken up. You tried not to make assumptions as you chatted to her. Maybe cracking Adam would be harder than you first assumed.
It was a long drive and felt even longer now that you had arrived. Your cabin was far and your case with heavy and your eyes practically drooped with exhaustion and your head hung low but you pulled through. You greeted the girls in your cabin warmly and expressed your excitement. You weren’t actually too happy to be here but you weren’t going to let anyone here know that.
‘Alright guys, lets get going! When we get to the cabin you’ll have fifteen minutes to get sorted and then you’ll have free time for the next two hours before dinner.’ She chimed cheerfully. That was getting old. How is she so cheerful after travelling six hours with one stop? Still you smiled as you pulled along your heavy ass suitcase.
‘Need help with that?’ Someone from behind you asked.
He sounded even hotter. Was this grounds for having children? Nope not even close. But it was him. Adam. And fuck was he sexy. Even sexier than the photos you’d seen of him.
‘Yeah.’ You stated smiling turning to face him. ‘You think you could help me with it?’ You questioned a tilt in your voice. You don’t exactly know what it is but men love to play the strong, dominant, I’m so great card a lot. Especially because they presume your helpless. You don’t necessarily like playing the ‘I’m so helpless’ princess card but if it’d stroke his ego enough..
‘Of course babe,’ he smirked smugly winking at you. ‘names Adam.’ He said picking up your case with ease and walking ahead up to your cabin.
Adam was a big guy, you knew that from the photo you say of him but seeing him in person was a different experience. Especially when he’s just picked up the case you could barely bring to your car and trug to the bus driver with ease did something to you. Maybe your just ovulating.
You followed him along with your easy carry on bag, smiling at him as he made it up the hill. ‘Thank you so much.’ You smiled at him looking up at him and slightly batting your eyes. Is that sexy? You hope it is.
He seems to think so as a grin plasters his face and he looks you up and down. ‘No problem gorgeous.’ He states looking back down the hill he sees a group of boys walking the same direction.
‘Look at that our cabin’s our right next to each other.’ He states smirking and winking at you.
‘What luck.’ You whisper loud enough for him to hear. ‘It’s been so nice to meet you Adam but I gotta go unpack.’ You state backing away smiling at him.
His face drops for a second then contorts and he looks angry and he looks like he’s going to say something but he doesn’t and just like that he’s back to smiling. ‘Yeah me too, but after orientation with our cabins the counsellors are going swimming down in the lough. You should come.’ He winks.
‘Yeah I will, see you then.’ You wink back retreating up the steps to your cabin and pulling your case into your assigned room.
The rooms are nice, cosy actually. The bed’s are made of wood with red bedsheets and white pillows and it reminds you of one of those winter cabins you’d find in the Christmas movies. They’re tiny to preserve space but you’d rather that than a bunk bed. You both have a wardrobe each and a mirror. The room isn’t terrible but you’d have to make do with the space at least for now. So unzipping your case you start to unpack your clothes and shoes into the wardrobe.
‘Hey, you nearly ready?’ Eve chimed while popping head round the corner of the door.
‘Yeah, practically all done.’ You replied.
‘Great, I forgot to tell you we’re all going swimming later, well the counsellors. You want to join? I totally want to get to know you better and everyone else would love to meet you.’ Eve said. She was so soft spoken and genuine it made you want to hug her.
‘Oh yeah, Adam mentioned that to me I’d love to.’ Her face contorted for a second into confusion but it’s almost like she realised what face she was making and went back to making her perky, happy face.
‘I’m SO excited, I can already tell we’re gonna have the BEST time together.’ She said walking towards you and taking your hand. Her hands were warm but not in a sweaty way but in a comforting way, it felt like taking a mother’s hand warm and soft.
‘Me too.’ You replied smiling at her as she kept your hand in hers dragging you to the living room for orientation.
Walking to the lough wasn’t long but Eve made it longer by pointing everything out and practically speaking to everyone she had any relation too or people she did not know. She’d been here every year since she was thirteen and now she was in her twenties. Doesn’t she get bored, apparently not.
Walking down the steps you took off your cover on and flip flops and placed your towel and phone on top of them. Scanning the lough your eyes fell on Adam who was sitting on a paddle board looking bored but as he looked up and locked eyes with you he smiled waving you over to him. So You pushed yourself down the ladder and into the water.
It was hell, the water was cold and any joy you had before this had been sucked out of you. Your face said it all as a little farther in the distance you could her Adam laughing at you. You glared at him as you made your way over.
‘You good down there?’ He asked still laughing slightly.
‘No.’ You quivered, teeth chattering. ‘Help me up I’m freezing.’ You practically yelped but Adam looked down at you with a shit-eating grin.
‘Uh-no, I’m good.’ He smirked chuckling to himself.
‘Fu- frick.’ You cursed changing your word mid sentences. Christians don’t curse. ‘I’ll do it myself.’ You stated repeating the ‘I can do it’ mantra in your head. You pulled yourself up slightly your hands clasped on the edge as you pulled yourself further but Adam just had to be an asshole. Of course he did as he pushed his foot towards you and pushed it against your chest causing you to plummet backwards under the water.
As you resurfaced choking on the water you’d just inhaled Adam cackled at you and your predicament. You clasped at the side of the paddle board and you rubbed under your eyes blinking the water out of them to help you see.
‘Here babe.’ Adam calls helping you up and sitting you beside him. You open your eyes fully looking at him.
‘You got a little makeup.’ He states rubbing the black mascara marks on your cheeks away with his thumb. You lean into his touch as he cups your cheek and squishes it slightly. You push away and smile as him bring your knees close to your face. He scrunches his nose and pushes you back off the paddle board and jumps in. You screech as he swims away and you try to catch him. You play around with him till the other counsellors announce they are going back to shower. You stay back with Adam. It’s not like you could use the shower if Eve was in it.
Adam sighs as he lays back on the paddle board you previously sat on. You lay beside him tired out yourself. ‘I fucking hat it here.’ He groans placing his hands over his face. Your surprised ro hear him curse but you turn to him before turning your head back to the sky.
‘Any particular reason?’ You question trying not to pry but what can you your a major gossip. And a slut but that’s besides the point.
‘That fucker Lucifer and his soon to be wife Lilith the fucking snakes.’ He hisses. ‘Stole my fucking girl and now I have to see her everyday and get reminded that she fucked them.’ He went silent.
‘That sucks.’ You sigh. You don’t really have anything else to say apart from that. You weren’t really sure if anything you said with help.
‘Yeah it really does, but fuck her she’s missing out.’ He puffs his chest with somewhat pride. Okay he bounces back quick.
‘From what exactly? A virgin?’ You sneer, not with malice but more jokingly.
‘Who said I was a virgin?’ He yells, sitting up and dramatically looking at you. You have half the mind to tell you his mother told you but you don’t.
‘I can tell.’ You state back to him as he glares at you before looking away embarrassed.
‘And your not?’ He queries.
‘A virgin? Hell no, lost that a LONG time ago.’ You laugh at his shocked expression before an idea pops into your head.
‘Hey Adam?’
‘What?’ He questions.
“Wanna see something?” You question lips curling into a tight smirk. Adam nods hesitantly unsure of what kind of surprise you’d pull in the middle of the lake.
You slowly and carefully lifted down the top piece of your bikini exposing your breast and hardened nipple.
The shock on Adam’s face was all you needed to see as you swiftly lifted your bikini back up to cover yourself again and giggled.
You placed your hands on his shoulders to keep yourself afloat and giggled “Do you like that?” You mused. He sputtered on water as he tries to recollect himself. Was Sera sure this girl was Christian?
You giggled at him as you swum back, he followed in toe grabbing his stuff.
‘You know if you wanna learn I’ll teach you.’ He looked away obviously flustered before flipping you off and cussing you out. You started to walk off but before you did you turned around and spoke.
‘Oh yeah and Adam? You might wanna fix that before the meeting, not very professional you know?” You smirk suggestively, attempting to make eye contact with the more than flustered man to no avail. Turning on your heels you walked off back to your cabin to unpack the rest of your shit you hadn’t got to before orientation and shower before your dreaded meeting. You heard him yelling in the distance. Something about how you could only dream of sucking his dick? Maybe coming here wasn’t such a bad idea after all.
The meeting went by fine but you could see Adam stare at you every so often and his boner was gone. At least he knew how to do something you thought. As you sat by the campfire roasting marshmallows with your cabin and conversing. You could feel Adam’s gaze on you but you ignored it choosing to leave him to make the first move, which may take a while. So as you packed up for the night as walked back to the cabin hearing Adam call you wasn’t what you expected. His cabin was all packed in for the night as he walked towards you.
‘You forgot something earlier, come on it’s on our balcony.’ He mumbled dragging you along inside. The cabin layout was basically the same as yours and you could hear boys chattering and moving around and room light’s under closed doors. You walked towards the balcony with Adam. Walking outside he closed the door behind him and walked you over to where you couldn’t be seen behind the curtain.
‘What’d I l forget?’ You questioned. You didn’t remembering leaving anything but to be fair you we’re forgetful and didn’t realise until the last possible moment that you forgot something so.
‘This.’ He said approaching you and pulling you into him. He met your lips and kissed you. He placed his hands on your hips and picked you up placing you on the nearby table. You clung your arms around his neck pulling at his hair and deepening the kiss. He groaned as your tongues clashed together. He leaned you back breaking away from the kiss and sucking at your neck. Fuck you we’re gonna have to cover that but you didn’t have the willpower to make him stop as he moved down to between your legs. He looked up at you like a lost puppy. He didn’t know how to proceed.
You sat back up and undid your pants pulling them off. Adam copied and watched as you pulled down your underwear and showed him your pussy. He looked in awe.
‘Wanna eat me out?’ You asked. He nodded moving his hands to your thighs as you leaned back down.
Adam was hesitant at first but quickly got the hang of it as he licked up your clit. A moan escaped your mouth your legs threatening to close around his head. Adam suddenly gained momentum as he sloppily started making out with your pussy, sucking away at you as if he was drunk.
You bit down on your hand to prevent your moans from becoming louder and risking getting caught as Adam kept his pace as he tongue fucked your cunt and you could feel the pleasure start to pool in your stomach and you could feel yourself getting close.
Adam mumbled against your pussy ‘You taste so good.’ He whispered before continuing to kiss as your hole.
Adam’s nose moved against your cunt and you felt yourself beginning to release and you came undone around him moaning his name. Adam wasted no time in licking up your cum.
As he moved away from your still wet pussy you could see his erection outlining his boxers. He moved to your lips sloppily against his. You could taste yourself on him but you didn’t seem to care as he pulled away and pulled off his boxers.
Looking down his dick was girthy and totally big. Fuck were you in for it if he could figure out how to use it. But he’d never used his tongue and was still one of the only guys to make you cum so he has to be doing something right.
‘I’m not using a fucking condom so let’s hope I knock some fucking decency into you slut.’ He groans as he slides his dick into your cunt.
It feels electric as you ride on the ecstasy as Adam pumps inside of you. He knows what he’s doing as he whispers curses and nasty words at you.
‘You like that whore? Tell me how much you like it?’ He grunts pulsing inside you still as you babble incoherent sentences totally high on his dick.
‘Use your words baby.’ He whispers into your ear. ‘Does daddy make you feel good?’ He questioned. The use of the term daddy in any other scenario would make you cringe but the way Adam said it made it sound sexy.
‘Yes.’ You hissed as he continued thrusting into you and hitting your G spot just right and just like that you came undone under Adam for the second time that night. He might be a virgin but he KNOWS how to fuck. That’s for sure.
Adam came soon after right inside you. Kind of made you wish you weren’t on the pill so you could have his baby.
Adam practically came in buckets to put it bluntly. His head was lying on your shoulder as he pulled out of you and you could feel the cum running down your legs. Hopefully nobody seems. But you couldn’t say you didn’t exactly wish that. You hoped someone would see in a way. Getting caught is thrilling and especially at a Christian camp.
Recollecting yourself you pulled up your undies and felt Adam’s cum mixed with your own squelch against them as it rubbed up against your already sensitive clit. You choked back a moan as you pulled your jeans back up buttoning them.
You sat at the edge of the table waiting for Adam to speak as he dressed himself. He walked towards you situating himself between you legs and lifting your chin up to softly kiss you. You were entranced in the kiss when you heard someone calling your name.
‘Fuck I gotta go.’ You whispered hearing Eve call your name. You pecked at Adam’s lips as you slid off the table and opened the door. ‘Goodnight Adam.’ You mumbled, winking at him and closing it behind you and running out the door to meet Eve and drag her back inside with you.
Adam leaned back against the table. Fuck was that was amazing. Just as he was about to get up to go back inside someone came out to meet him. It was one of his campers. The ones he was responsible.
‘Hey um Adam?’ Isaac called. He hummed as he moved next to him. ‘I have something to ask you but it’s kind of awkward.’ He trailed off looking to the ground.
Adam smiled at him. ‘Ask away, I’m here to teach you and guide you.’ The way he spoke differentiated between the kids and the way he spoke to you. It was kind of comedic how fast he could switch up from being a manwhore to a holy man. Vast difference between the two but Adam could be both.
‘You see I keep falling into lust..’ He mumbled. ‘And I’m really trying not too but I find it really hard. And I guess I was wondering how to deal with it? How you’d deal with it?.’ He questioned. He sounded exasperated of all options at this point and Adam was proud to guide him in the right direction. To tell him what he would do.
Suddenly Adam’s stomach dropped. Wait what did he do? Lust is a sin. But not only lust, sex. Sex before marriage is a sin. He just committed one of the most terrible sins and felt no remorse until a fucking child asked him? Is he being serious?
What had Adam done? He’d went against his beliefs and what he stood for. His morals something he swore to never do till marriage with a girl he JUST met. What had he done? How could he make up for this? No, no no. This can’t be happening it’s not real. Adam stumbled over his words and talked about prayer and reading the Bible and how it really helps and sent Isaac back to bed and he thanked him profusely as Adam smiled but inside he felt suffocated. How could he guide children and help them when he was going against everything he and they believed in? Adam knelt down on the floor and prayed. I mean what else could he do?

Name: Toad's Turnpike Debut: Mario Kart 64
Ah, Mario Kart 64, an iconic game for many reasons. It was the first 3D Mario Kart game, the first game to feature the Spiny Shell, the first Mario Kart where you could select Wario, and also the first good Mario Kart game! Or maybe it also sucks, and I'm just blinded by nostalgia. It is the first game I ever played.
While Mario Kart 64 featured many of the same course themes as Super Mario Kart, it also introduced a handful of new ones into the fold, like "busy highway!" Toad's Turnpike is the first course in the Mario Kart series where you have to dodge traffic. Now, holding a go-kart race on an active road might seem dangerous, but thankfully, having gotten my license earlier this year, I learned that driving on a road is what you're supposed to do, so it's probably fine.
What's NOT fine however, is driving against the flow of traffic! In Mario Kart 64, Toad's Turnpike is infamous for its Mirror Mode layout, where not only is the layout of the course mirrored, but the cars will move in the opposite direction as well! The penalty for crashing into a car is pretty severe in this game, and combined with the brutal CPUs who love to cheat, Mirror Mode Toad's Turnpike ends up being a very difficult race.
The Mirror Mode variant ties into a mechanic in Mario Kart 64 where the speed of cars will change depending on the cc. Are you late on the commute to work? Too bad! Toad has declared that he's doing a 50cc race today, and as the owner of this turnpike, you BETTER abide by his speed limit...!
But why are you commuting on Toad's Turnpike in the first place?! This road just loops back in on itself, with nowhere to get off! Heck, there's nowhere to get on, really, either. I have no idea how you or anyone else got into such a precarious situation. This is true of nearly every traffic course (besides Mushroom City), but this post isn't about any of those.
But what if I told you the cars may not be real cars at all...? You see, in Mario Kart 64, the cars on this course have no hit detection with anything besides the player. Items will pass straight through them, and so will any racer that's currently in a star. Is it possible these cars... are GHOSTS...? Jeepers! It would seem that after being trapped on this road for so long, that all the cars died off, and now nothing but phantoms remain...
You can still crash into phantom cars though, so be careful while driving.
It would seem that Mayor Toad of Toad City thought that something had to be done about his turnpike's ghost problem, so in the time between Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart 8, he had a service station built on the side of the road. This must have worked out big time, as the cars have proper hit detection now! Hooray for necromancy!
Mayor Toad did not, however, pour any funds into building roads in and out of Toad's Turnpike. In fact, he turned the starting line into a toll gate, meaning not only are you trapped on Toad's Turnpike, but you have to pay for every lap you drive! The course was also scaled down quite a bit, meaning you'll be passing the starting line much more often. Clearly, the government of Toad City is very corrupt.
I guess this is my segue into talking about the Mario Kart 8 version of this course, huh? If I'm being honest, I don't like this version of the course nearly as much! But it's not really for anything that has to do with the gameplay...
Sure, it's disappointing that Mirror Mode no longer reverses the flow of traffic. Sure, the anti-gravity walls feel shoehorned in and kind of defeat the purpose of the course. Sure, the road being widened and the track being scaled down makes the cars much easier to dodge, and getting hit is much less impactful than before.
But none of those things really bother me. I mean, they added cars with glider ramps and whatnot! It's definitely easier than the N64 version, but I do think it gains some from its more dynamic elements. But you see, the reason I don't like the Mario Kart 8 version of Toad's Turnpike is because of a much more egrigious sin:
The vibes are off.
You see, the thing I love the most about Toad's Turnpike in Mario Kart 64 is the atmosphere. You know I'm a sucker for good atmosphere! It affected a few placements in those Galaxy rankings I haven't touched in like a year! But yeah, between the late sunset skybox, the excellent music, and the remote feeling of it all, Toad's Turnpike in Mario Kart 64 is a course with A+ vibes. Between that and its unique obstacles, it becomes a highlight of the game for me despite a pretty bland layout.
With Mario Kart 8's version, the time of day was shifted from the late evening to the middle of the night, the music was given a new arrangement that's much more energetic, and the course was reimagined as being in the middle of a big city. I definitely get what they were going for—the big city theming fits the highway environment, and it definitely feels more fitting for a fast-paced racing game. But to me at least, the relaxing evening drive feeling of Toad's Turnpike is a lot of what I loved about the original, and I feel like that was ultimately lost in the remake.
Despite my complaining, I find it important to emphasize that change is not an inherently bad thing! It's good to appreciate the things in our past, sure, but nostalgia can be a prison of our own making! People who refuse to accept change often end up like the Old Norm, grumbling about pronouns and rainbow beer. Heck, Rainbow Road is another course with great vibes from Mario Kart 64 that got a massive aesthetic overhaul in Mario Kart 8, and I love how they handled that remake! Sometimes you just gotta learn to appreciate the new and the old on their own merits.
With that out of the way, the changes made to Toad's Turnpike were bad and I don't like them. They totally should've kept the sunset.

Chapter 9
“So how long we waiting for Emily to show up?” asks Tara. “She said she’s coming, right?”
Penelope nods. “Yes! She did. Ugh, she better not be working late. She promised!”
JJ has her phone out to text her. “I’m sure she’s running late and not being an ass staying at work. If she is, I’ll personally kill her this time.”
All three of them had arrived at the Fireside Lounge roughly the same time and pushed two high top tables together with five chairs surrounding them. They had waited on ordering drinks until they were all together but after twenty minutes and Prentiss being a no show, the ladies were getting restless.
“Ah! She says she’ll be here in fifteen. Apologizes for running late and will explain why when she gets here,” JJ announces, pleased. “Won’t have to kill her.”
“JJ …” Penelope whines. “I know you’re joking, but our Emily makes such jokes almost realities so, please don’t?”
“Yes, yes. Sorry. I only say it out of love though.”
“Which I can’t really blame her,” says Tara with a grin. “We do love our Prentiss.”
“Fine, yes. Hooray! We love, Emily. Speaking of Emily,” Penelope starts looking right at JJ, “and to change the subject…” She brings her arms atop the table and her body is thrumming with gossip, “… did you totally see her eying our cutie today?”
“Eying?” Tara chuckles. “You mean ogling. But it got her off our backs for going MIA on her. I don’t think Whitlock even noticed.”
“Yeah, have to agree there. She didn’t notice a thing,” confirms JJ.
“I’m surprised you were even paying attention, Jareau. Especially with all that trash talk you were doing,” taunts Tara.
“Oh please. I’m like a bloodhound when Emily shows even the slightest interest in anyone. Which has been a long fucking time. Even before the pandemic.”
“And her last serious relationship was with that girl Goodman before she got transferred to the Dallas office. Girl wanted to U-Haul Prentiss something fierce,” Tara says with a cackle.
Melanie Goodman was an FBI special agent the team met during a local case. Her and Prentiss hit it off, but Goodman wanted a lot more very quickly. In typical fashion, Prentiss dragged her feet on what she wanted, and when Goodman got a promotion to head up the Dallas office, she wanted Emily to come along. Thus, concluding that relationship. But truthfully, the two of them were doomed from the start. Emily wasn’t ready to open her heart and just wanted a physical relationship, then maybe see how things were going. And as she was bad at communicating her needs, the relationship crashed and burned the night before Goodman’s flight out to Dallas with a huge argument.
“Well, she is looking to get some,” says JJ offhandedly that makes Penelope smack her arm. “Ow! Hey!”
“Spill!”
“It was nothing. Really!” JJ defends herself when Garcia stares her down. “Just an off the cuff comment about not getting laid. One of the few people at the office not getting any.”
“Interesting …” Garcia looks to Tara. “Anything you can add to this?”
Tara looks confused. “Like what?”
“You and Rebecca had dinner with Whitlock. Know any, I dunno, preferences?” Garcia presses.
“Preferences for what?” But then Tara realizes what Garcia was fishing for and holds up a finger. “Oh no. We are not playing matchmaker with these two.”
“So, she does like women?!” squeals Penelope.
“No, no, no, no! I did not say that,” Tara states firmly but then starts bobbing her head in thought. “Though probably, yeah.”
“What do you mean?” asks Penelope with a shrill.
“Because she’s queer considering the story they told me.”
JJ looks with interest, raising her brows. “Which was… ?”
With the two of them looking pathetically expectantly, Tara gave in. And Whitlock didn’t mind Rebecca telling the story of how the two of them met, so there’s no reason to not believe that it would have circulated already within the BAU family.
“Alright, it’s about how the two of them met. Her and Rebecca.” Tara starts to explain, and JJ and Penelope lean in closer, absorbed by the story. “They were set up on a potential date. Bunch of girls at the DOJ wanted to hang out and used that as pretense. What they were really trying to do was set up my girl and Whitlock.”
“Aaaaaaand?!” Penelope’s desire for gossip was making her impatient which made JJ snigger.
“Calm down, Pen! Give me a chance to explain the whole story!” scolds Tara. “Now, both of them didn’t know Rebecca’s friend Mandy, who’s also friends with Whitlock, was trying to get them together for awhile and the mastermind behind it all. They all show up at a bar and of course everyone is making sure there’s a chair open by Rebecca for our girl to take. Both of them play stupid as to what was really going on. But at one point, they go get some more drinks at the bar and basically end up apologizing for Mandy at the same time and laugh it off. They said they realized they’ll probably end up being good friends at that point.”
“That’s kind of adorable,” JJ says with gleam in her eyes. “No wonder they’ve kept in touch for so long.”
“Exactly. But that’s not even the best part.”
Penelope claps. “And here we go.”
“So, the next day they’re at work together, they’re pretending they hit it off and are dating.” JJ and Penelope start laughing. “They do this for a whole week just to mess with this Mandy. I guess this girl would not take no for an answer. Kept meddling getting them together for a while, or whatever. So, they give her what she wanted. Put on a whole show for her when Whitlock visited Rebecca at work. Our girl even sent her flowers! Can you believe that?”
“I already loved her and now, I love her more,” Penelope declares firmly.
JJ has to agree. “She goes all in on things, huh?”
Tara nods, “Whitlock confirmed that at dinner. She loves getting into mischief with the right people. They were wondering how far they could take it, but Mandy finally figured out she was being fucked with. She was so embarrassed and never talked to them again.”
“How’d she find out?” asks JJ.
“By overhearing us without our knowledge,” you said, sneakily coming in with Prentiss. “Poor work on my part considering I’m CIA. Utterly embarrassing.”
“AAAHHH! YOU’RE HERE!” Penelope shrieks with pure joy and jumps off her stool to squeeze you tightly. “You said you couldn’t come, but you’re here!”
You half cough and half laugh, looking to Prentiss who has to sidestep away from you since Penelope’s forceful hug almost knocked you into her. “Yeah, well …”
But you didn’t have to come up with anything to say as she did it for you. “New boss asked old boss for some leeway. I basically pulled the we used to work together card.” She offers. “And Korogoth didn’t mind at all.”
You smile with gratitude at the partial truth given by her, humbled that Prentiss was doing that for you in front of her longtime friends and coworkers. That wave of affection for the section chief came over you once more and you had to look away from her. You weren’t sure what to say but JJ saves you.
“Now I feel bad for taking your fifty, Whitlock.”
Penelope finally relinquishes her hug and wraps an arm around yours, leading you to the chair by hers. Prentiss takes a seat between you and Tara. “Well, I can always take it back …” you offer candidly but JJ just laughs.
“I’m not feeling that bad. Ah!” She threatens a finger towards you. “Don’t sit yet. Come with me to get drinks. There’s five of us now and I need help.”
“Happy to.” You slide free from between Penelope and Prentiss and walk off with JJ to get the first round.
That left Penelope and Tara staring down Emily who looks befuddled at the scrutiny. “What?”
“Lotta effort getting Whitlock here. Not that we’re minding her company,” starts Tara which only made Emily lean forward with scrutinizing eyes as to where this was going.
“Really wanted her here for girls’ night, huh?” Penelope says with a knowing look.
“Well, yeah. Of course I did.” She sits up straighter on the chair, tapping the table idly. “She’s supposed to be on vacation and ends up helping us. Last thing she needs is working double duty.”
Penelope and Tara share a look that Emily notices. “Okay, what?”
Tara decides to get her to explain further. “Is that all? Just being a concerned boss?”
“What else could it possibly be?” she asks, hoping this isn’t going where she fears it is. She didn’t forget how Penelope was looking at her yesterday during the spar.
“Uh, the cutie over there by the bar, of course!” Penelope accuses.
Damn it!
“There’s a lot of people by the bar,” she deflects.
“To clarify, the CIA operative that you found so hot yesterday, it made you forget you were mad at the entire unit and then … joined in on the betting,” Tara reminds with a haughty smile.
Emily inwardly sighs once again regretting she works with a bunch of profilers. It wouldn’t matter if she tried to deny what happened earlier. She couldn’t lie to herself about the budding attraction she had for you, especially after your conversation together on the drive here.
“How long were you a spy?” The ride had been quiet, but this question was weighing on your mind.
“You don’t know?” she says with surprise, coming to stop at a redlight.
You look at her cheekily. “I know a lot of things, but not everything. Besides, I rather hear it from you.”
She chuckles. “Fair enough. Close to nine years.”
You nod. “Long time.”
“Not as long as you,” she counters.
“True.” You didn’t even hide your vocation anymore. Prentiss had a way of disarming you and Brian gave her a bit of clearance. “How do you know Brian?”
“Pardon?”
You look at her suspiciously. “You heard me just fine, Prentiss. He doesn’t just let anyone know about me. Even with section chief cred. He trusts you.” You catch Prentiss’ gaze when she looks to you expectantly and you simply ask, “Why?”
She is forced to look away as the light turns green and starts driving again. “Our paths crossed when I worked Interpol. We collaborated on a case.”
You repeatedly nod at that while bringing your attention forward. As you are aware the ending of the Doyle case meant Prentiss being transferred to the FBI that this was a case prior to that three-year stint. “That was a while ago.”
“Yes, it was.” She says it with melancholic introspection. She shifts gears, taking a chance. “What were you up to back then?”
“Define back then. I like specifics.”
“2002.”
“Investigating suicide bombings in Israel.”
Prentiss winces, knowing it was a bad year for those bombings. “That was a really rough year.”
That year and the next were bloody. It took combined efforts of the US Department of Defense, Interpol and the Isreal government to determine Iran, Iraq and Libya were involved in those terror attacks.* You worked with the bomb units identifying materials and tracing it back to the source. Following that, you found the money trail, which led to names that were given to the respective governments involved in the investigations.
You understand the logical themes behind religion and its ability to bring individuals in. They provide community, a sense of purpose and belonging, and a truth to why you are on this planet. People that have little control in their life are easily swayed to something that has strict rules and a way of life to explain all of its uncertainties. But then you have these charismatic leaders that swoop in and promise you eternal glory by blowing yourself up and murdering others. They only cared about power and control.
You weren’t religious before your recruitment, and you certainly saw no need to be after witnessing the horrors of the world.
Prentiss looked at you quickly, wondering why you suddenly went quiet. She felt her comment was open ended and shouldn’t have tripped you up. “You okay there, Whitlock?”
You look at her and brazenly ask a personal question. “You religious?”
“Ah …” She fumbles at the complicated question. “I was raised Catholic.”
“That doesn’t tell me if you’re religious,” you point out immediately.
“Are you?”
The deflection was an unspoken admission of a tricky relationship with faith. “I believe there’s evil in the world and it’s up to people like us to stop it. Seen too much to think otherwise.”
Caused too much of it to be absolved by any fucking deity anyway … you thought regretfully.
Prentiss makes a long face as she tries to interpret that response. She didn’t want to discount your reasoning for feeling this way because there is truth to your words. “I can understand that.”
You cross your arms defensively as you allow the same vulnerability to come out like it did back at the apartment. “And … helps calm the demons inside. Helping the helpless, ya know?”
Which Prentiss did. She admitted as much on the jet and now agreed with a darkened tone. “I do.”
The ease in which she talks with you and the spoken and unspoken cues that you truly understood her without detailed explanations were astounding to her. She had deep connections with members of the BAU as close friends who were found family, JJ especially so, but not once did a romantic relationship blossom into something close to that level of transparency. Admittedly, there was that potential with you.
“I’m her boss.” She hears how lame that is as do the others.
“She’s a consultant and reports to Korogoth at the end of the day,” counters Tara. “Try again.”
“We don’t know if she’s into women.”
“Good chance she is,” says Penelope and Emily’s eyes widen in question to which she is happy to provide. “How Whitlock and Wilson met. Next!”
“Whoa, back it up.” This was genuine interest and not an attempt to sidestep around the conversation. “What do you mean that’s how they met?”
“Oh, I know what this is about,” you say while playing waitress and handing out the sunset shots with JJ. She insisted on fun fruity shots, not something boring. “This about me and Rebecca.”
“That was pretty funny.” JJ playfully scrunches her nose. “Especially when you sent her flowers.”
“Sent flowers to who?” asks a confused Emily.
Penelope and Tara answer together. “Rebecca.”
“Wait.” Emily pushes against the table so she can angle herself to look at you as you sit down beside her. “You and Rebecca dated?’
Everyone at the table begins laughing, leaving Emily put out. “Guys! Can someone please tell me what’s so funny?”
“Sorry, Emily,” you say, trying to calm your laughs, but then end up laughing harder seeing how dour the section chief’s expression is. It was cute how Emily hated being the last to understand something.
“Guys …” Emily says, gritting her teeth.
“Okay, okay!” Tara manages to control herself first. “The two of them didn’t date. But, they were set up.”
“In a bullshit way.” You sit back in a huff as you explain further. “We didn’t even know it was supposed to be a date. Just some hanging out with friends. But this girl …” You snap your fingers trying to jog your memory. “What the fuck was her name …?”
“Mandy,” supplies Penelope quite quickly, proving she still deserves being the queen of gossip recollection.
“Oh my god, yes! That’s her name. Mandy!” You chuckle. “Yeah, so she did this after I told her I wasn’t interested in dating anyone, but not listening, went behind my back. Rebecca wasn’t thrilled either, so we played pretend girlfriends.”
Emily holds her head and starts to laugh. “And knowing you …”
“I was all in. Ah …” you grin, playing with the shot glass. “Rebecca being so cool with it is why I knew we’d be good friends.”
With you wistfully looking down, Penelope looks right at Emily and mouths a silent, ‘Gay!’ which makes her blush and JJ fights a laugh seeing that exchange.
“Well, I think I can speak for all of us here, and not just because me and Rebecca are together, that we’re all happy that friendship happened. Because if not, you wouldn’t be here,” Tara says with sincerity, and then shrugs mischievously. “But I guess Emily’s got something to do with that too.”
You roll your eyes. “Oh, for fuck’s safe. Are we drinking or not? Because you profilers talk too damn much.”
There was a chorus of oohs around the table at the dig, but Penelope slaps it with purpose. “She’s right. This is girls’ night out and we haven’t had one drink! Time to fix that. Ladies!”
The five of you take your shot glasses and follow Penelope’s lead by lifting them up for a toast. “To Whitlock finally having a proper night out with us.”
“Cheers!” everyone says, including you, before clinking your glasses together and knocking back the first round of drinks.

Aya stood still in the center of Edana's courtyard, silently panicking. The Lady had told her what to do if she saw a stranger at the winnow spot, but what if no one was there to meet her at all?
She was certain she hadn't imagined the ring’s glow - it had earned her a disdainful look from a few of her classmates, even as she covered it with her other hand and tucked it under the work desk. The instructor, aware of Aya’s on-call job, quietly dismissed her and continued the lesson.
Now Aya peeked into the windows of Edana's rooms, but the Lady was nowhere to be found. All was still, and quiet, and eerily calm. Autumn sunshine poured over the decorated walls in the pattern of the window panes. Birds chirped carefree tunes to each other in the trees. She thought about just winnowing home, but what if Eris was lying somewhere half-dead and she was supposed to help him?
Something was pulling her, against her better judgment, to go to Eris's room and check. It was a bad idea. A terrible and potentially deadly idea. But that pull was feeling stronger by the minute, igniting the panic within her chest into a full on wildfire.
Her feet began to move on their own, clammy hands reaching out to open the glass doors to Edana's sitting room. They had been left slightly ajar, meaning she could enter without making any noise. The door to the secret hallway was not visible, the wall seemingly empty save for a couple of postcards tacked to it.
Either Aya's magic was stronger than she thought, or the door had been keyed to her touch, because one brush of her fingertips had the old door appearing before her eyes and slowly creaking open. Her feet continued to move of their own volition, beginning a silent trek down the hallway as she had done so many times now.
Heart hammering in her chest, she made her way down the hall toward Eris’s room. Fear crept up her throat with every turn of the passage, but she encountered nothing and no one. The quiet swallowed every thought in her mind. Finally, she stood before the familiar doorway, but something stopped her hand from making contact with the doorknob.
Two male voices argued back and forth on the other side of the door. She could not make out what they were saying, only the sharp rise and fall of their tones, growling back and forth. One of them sounded like Eris, and the other she did not recognize. She took a step backward, that outstretched hand reaching for her throat instead, as if it could quiet the roaring beneath her skin. This was an awful idea. But now the thought of returning to the courtyard and finding someone there kept her rooted to the spot, trapped between one terrible possibility and another.
The voices rose to a high and then stopped altogether. A slam echoed into the hallway, followed by a crash. Aya did not have the chance to decide a course of action before the door swung open and Eris stepped through into the hallway. She opened her mouth to scream out of impulse but Eris had the sense to clap a hand over her mouth before any sound could escape.
“What the hell are you doing?” He growled, face red with anger.
Aya could not answer with his hand still over mouth, pressing her firmly against the stone wall. She was too busy catching her breath to string together words anyways, trying to calm her spinning head. She closed her eyes and drew in a deep, shaky breath.
Eris released her, and when she opened her eyes, his face had softened into something more recognizable.
“What are you doing here?” He asked, the edge in his voice gone.
“No one came to the courtyard,” She said, the anxiety in her body fading away in his presence, “I came to check on you.”
“That was a very bad idea,” He said, eyes blazing though his tone remained soft. She took in his disheveled look, shirt half-unbuttoned and hair tousled and messy.
“What happened?” Aya's brows furrowed, “Who is hurt?”
“No one,” Eris shook his head, “There was a fight, and my mother summoned you by accident in the chaos. She had to leave for a brunch, and I was trying to get away to the courtyard to tell you everything was alright.”
“And?” Aya pressed.
“And my brother followed me to continue what he started,” Eris ground his teeth, muscles in his jaw shifting.
“But you're alright?” Her body felt loose and tired after holding so much tension in such a short amount of time.
“Yes,” He gave her a small smile, placing his hand on the small of her back to guide her back down the hallway, “Let's get you back home.”
She could still feel the anger rolling off his body as he led her back to the courtyard. He emanated waves of heat, golden sparks flying with every heartbeat as if his heart were molten metal being forged and hammered. An idea began to form in Aya's head as he escorted her.
They reached the middle of Edana's courtyard. Eris opened his mouth to speak but Aya cut him off.
“Come with me,” She blurted, watching his eyes widen.
“What?”
“Come back to the Dawn Court with me,” She said slower, cheeks burning from her boldness, “Just until you cool off.”
“I'll be fine,” He shook his head.
“How likely are you to punch someone or be otherwise injured if you stay here?” Aya crossed her arms.
Eris did not answer, throat bobbing as he swallowed.
“That's what I thought. As your healer, I must recommend you stay out of harm's way and you can do that by coming back to the Dawn Court with me and having a snack.”
“A snack?” The corners of his lips kicked up into a smile, eyes dancing with amusement at the authority in her voice. “I do not want to cause trouble if Thesan were to see me-”
“You'll be my guest. He'll understand.”
Eris was planning on saying yes, the idea of an afternoon in the Dawn Court with Aya much more appealing than another day of games and acting here. But a chorus of muffled giggling sounded somewhere outside of Edana's room, and he watched the panic rise in Aya's eyes. Before he could say anything else, she had reached for his hand and grasped it tightly, winnowing them away from the crisp autumn air of the courtyard.
“Sorry,” She said, breathless as the world righted again, “I panicked.”
Eris chuckled as his eyes focused, the soft blue of the sky and heaps of fluffy clouds coming into view.
“It's alright,” He chuckled, “I was going to say yes.”
“Really?” The way her eyes lit up melted his heart.
“Where are we?” He asked, glancing around at the stone balcony where they had arrived. They were high up, the sky wrapping them in roaring silence. Only chirping birds and the distant trickling of fountains cut through it. Vines of pastel flowers hung from the trellis-covered ceiling above, ornamental carvings adorning
“Thesan's private tower,” Aya answered.
“I don't think I should be here,” Eris frowned, uneasy.
“I promise it's okay,” Aya said, heading toward a set of double glass doors and beckoning him to follow, “Besides, I kind of left class to go to the Autumn Court and I don't particularly feel like going back. But if they see me in the healer's wing, they'll know I skipped class.”
Eris blinked, taken aback by her energy and how much she spoke. And he realized that this is what he had been craving. Aya, uninhibited. So against his own better judgment, he relented and followed her into the tower.
⋆。˚ ☁︎ ˚。⋆。˚☽˚。⋆
Aya opened the door to her old room and stepped aside, watching as Eris entered and immediately began cataloging details.
“This is your room?” He asked, turning in a slow circle.
“My old room,” She said, suddenly shy. She slipped off her shoes and stood to the side, “My childhood room. Now I live in the healer's wing.”
The room held memorabilia from all seven courts, art and posters lining the walls, mobiles and figures hanging from the ceiling. Tall windows filled the room with light, glass doors leading to two separate balconies. Her bed had been built into a little nook, a faded purple canopy closing it off from the rest of the room. Eris stopped by a little tapestry of Autumn leaves and acorns, sunshine illuminating the golden threads woven through it.
“I had a lot of dreams,” Aya said, her voice equal parts grim and wistful. Eris glanced at her, the emotion aging her eyes. For the first time, she looked her age of nearly a century old.
“Had?” He asked softly, brushing a fingertip over the texture of the tapestry.
Aya looked away, plucking a stuffed manatee from its basket and rubbing her thumbs over the fabric to keep her hands busy. She smoothed down one of the button eyes threatening to come loose.
“I was still figuring out a lot of things when Amarantha’s reign began,” She said, and Eris flinched at the cursed name, “But a lot of things changed after that, as you can imagine.”
“You went under the mountain?” It was an effort to get the words out, imagining kind-hearted Aya in such a horrible place.
“I was here,” Aya murmured, clutching the stuffed manatee a little tighter, “Thesan managed to hide the fact that he had family. I hid in the healer's wing. I decided to start training so I'd have something to do. A way to help.”
The training was, in part, because her powers had emerged during that time and she had been terrified and alone. She needed the distraction, somewhere to put her energy.
A quiet settled in the room, terrible memories enveloping them both. Aya shook her head, turning her focus toward her rumbling stomach.
“Anyways,” She murmured, crossing to one of the balconies, “Make yourself at home and I'll get some food.”
Eris furrowed his brows and followed her out onto the smaller balcony. Aya flashed him a grin in response. The view was a little dizzying, the city below tiny and fuzzy, dotted with moving people.
“The kitchens are a level below. I used to fly down and beg them for snacks in between meals. I can smell everything they cook.”
Eris turned to her in alarm, realizing she meant to jump down to the level below. Mischief danced in her eyes as he looked at her, doing strange things to his heart. This Aya was utterly different - playful, talkative, vibrant.
“I can't imagine they'll appreciate that,” He swallowed.
“It'll be fine,” She chuckled, untucking her wings and shaking them out. Eris's mouth went dry at the sight. “They love me. And I haven't visited in a while. Besides, I thought you were supposed to be a rule breaker anyways.”
Eris scoffed. His brothers? Yes. But him? Eris did not lower himself to breaking the rules. He moved around them, maneuvering and conspiring until they bent to his will, parting beneath his hands as easily as stalks of wheat.
She did not give him time to respond before she leapt up onto the carved railing, loose pants billowing in the wind. She knew how to fly, and he knew that, but his heart still leapt into his throat. He swallowed the urge to reach for her and pull her back down to safety.
Wings spread and ready, Aya let herself fall into the blue sky. Eris clutched the railing, peering over the edge to watch her free fall. Her wings caught the wind halfway down, sunlight streaming through her feathers and filling them with golden light. She looked exactly like an illustration of Clementia, lovely and golden and a little terrifying.
She landed smoothly, greeting an old man in a chef's coat smoking a pipe on the balcony. Eris couldn't make out what they were saying, their words carried away on the breeze, but their easy laughter made its way to him. He wondered if this was how Aya felt in the Autumn Court. Out of place and a little overwhelmed. He was entirely out of his element here, everything lighter and breezier than he was used to, and he understood his mother's opinion of the Dawn Court a little better. But he wanted to like it here - he would like it here, he determined. He would because it was where Aya was from, and because she wanted him to like it, and because everything here seemed imbued with a bit of her.
Aya returned, her spread wings casting a shadow over the pondering Eris. She carried a basket covered in a tea towel, a bottle of pink liquid tucked under one arm. She leapt down and sat to one side of the balcony, leaning against the railing, and gestured for him to do the same. The way Eris lowered himself to the ground was a bit inelegant as he tried to keep his back from touching the railing. The gaps were too small for him to fall through, but the idea churned his stomach all the same. He found himself feeling a little envious of the comfort Aya’s wings must offer her.
Aya revealed the food tucked carefully inside the basket, buns made of sweet potato and filled with spicy meat, crackers with a spread made of herbs, cheese, and olives, and for dessert candies made of sesame and the pastel macarons that Eris's mother loved so much. Each flavored and adorned with an edible flower. The bottle was sparkling grapefruit juice.
“This seems a bit fancy for a snack,” Eris murmured, though he didn't protest as Aya handed him a bun. He didn't realize until he'd smelled the food that he was very hungry. He bit into it eagerly, ignoring the awkwardness he felt at eating with his hands. A practice that his father did not approve of.
Aya bit her bottom lip, a shy smile fighting to break through.
“I asked for something for my friend and I and Stellan insisted that it must be a date,” She avoided his eyes as she explained, the apples of her cheeks warm and rosy.
“A date?” Eris eyebrows shot upwards, his heart climbing into his throat.
“That's sort of my fault,” She said, smile revealing her dimples as it spread, “I brought home a girlfriend a long time ago and he assumed we were just friends. Apparently it was a shock to learn that we were together. So now he assumes that every friend is something more.”
Eris smiled through the twinge of jealousy. A question snaked through his mind, but he decided he would not lower himself to asking it. But it seemed that Aya had read it, because she said, “It didn't work out between us. I think she only liked me for my wings.”
It was only a joke, he knew, but it emptied his head of all the topics he'd collected to prevent a lull. Oh, the questions he had about those wings.
“Has anyone ever told you that your wings have the coloring of a field Sparrow?” He asked, instead of one of the normal things he'd planned to say.
Aya's eyebrows raised and a surprised giggle bubbled out of her.
“No,” She said, “No one's ever told me that.”
“They're very common in Autumn,” He took a big bite of bun so that he'd shut up.
Do you think of me when you see a field sparrow? The question was on the tip of her tongue, dangerously close to spilling out. So she took a bite of her own food, and a silence settled over them. If they both stretched out their legs, they'd become a tangle of limbs. And yet, knees against chests, with the basket in the way, the space between them felt a mile long.
“Can I ask you a question?” Aya asked, shaking away the lines of poetry that had begun to write themselves.
“If I get one in return.”
“What were you doing in the Winter Court?” Aya cast her gaze down to her hands and the crescent-shaped bites missing from her bun.
Her question changed the mood, all of that lightness gone in an instant. But it also dissolved some of the awkwardness. They had never met in an unserious setting, and that was what had strung the air so tightly between them.
“My mother told you?” He asked, swallowing hard. And Aya hated that he seemed more familiar with that solemnity in his features. She nodded.
“She should not have told you that,” He said, “I was escorting a pregnant maid to the Winter Court to request asylum.”
“Kallias helped you?” Aya asked, surprised. His court had been locked down tightly since the end of Amarantha's reign.
“Kallias did not know,” He spoke barely above a whisper, as if someone might still overhear. “It was Vivian who helped me. The maid is safe.”
Aya swallowed, her stomach flip flopping as she began to put pieces together. “And the fight with your brother?”
“He was bragging about her,” Eris growled, “Trying to bait me into revealing where I'd taken her. That's how I ended up getting stabbed.”
“And he doesn't…she was not his lover?”
“She was no one to him,” Eris closed his eyes, blocking out the memories, trying to wipe the disgust from his face.
After a moment, Aya cleared her throat and prompted, “What is your question for me?”
Eris kept his eyes closed a minute longer before he asked, “Where do your powers come from?”
“I don't know,” Aya said honestly, “Maybe my father? I got my wings from him.”
“They're very unique,” He opened his eyes, molten amber burning into her. The warmth was welcome in the chill breeze that swirled through the balcony. If she could wrap herself in the heat of that color, she would.
“Yes,” She sighed, thinking of the million times that someone had told her something similar. It was always said as if Aya was holding back a secret, like she had all of the answers and kept them locked inside. Aya had no more answers than anyone else.
Eris said nothing else, so she asked, “How does your mother pay all her bribes?”
Eris blinked and stared at her, “You've really thought about this, haven't you?”
“A bit,” She admitted. The layers of the Autumn Court were like a puzzle that wouldn't leave her mind, despite Thesan's warnings and her own resolve. She scooted closer to the basket and started on the crackers and spread, holding one out to Eris.
“I asked her the same thing once,” He said. He took the cracker and bit it in half, savoring the salty spread. “She wouldn't answer. But she ended up telling me later in case something happened to her. She convinced my father to set aside a dowry for their future daughter when they were first married. He forgot about it and she's been using it to pay her bribes all these years.”
Aya thought to herself that this was precisely why the Lady of Autumn both terrified and inspired her. It was unnerving to be under her thumb, bound by that ring.
“Does she have any maids or is it only the two guards on her side?”
“The guards are the only two in the palace,” Eris said, lip curling like that fact bothered him, “She can't trust any female workers because Beron pays half of them to report back to him. Because women talk.”
Eris spat the last word, rolling his eyes.
“He spies on you, too?” Aya frowned, a shiver of dread creeping down her spine. What if someone told Beron about her?
“Of course. I think he hired someone new recently, and that's how he found out about the Winter Court and why he was so ruthless in his interrogation. I was out trying to find the spy the day that Juno got hurt.”
Aya's head spun, those pieces clicking together faster than she could keep up. Eris saw the dizzy look in her eyes and changed the subject.
“Tell me about the Dawn Court traditions,” He said, voice gentle. He selected a pink macaron decorated with a pansy. Aya was quiet, choosing a cookie and shaking the Autumn Court from her mind.
“We give feathers to accept the mating bond,” She said, “And if you don't have feathers, you either have one made from metal or gemstone, or you use one saved from a relative and preserved with magic.”
“Like an heirloom ring,” He said, and Aya hummed in agreement.
From there, one question slid into the next and the topics stayed light and amiable. There were no more unnatural pauses or lulls, the conversation flowing easily. Once, Eris even laughed. It was the first time Aya heard it, and it was just as pleasant as his voice.
He seemed to grow more comfortable as time passed, slipping off his boots and socks. They passed the bottle of juice between them and somehow it felt like the most intimate thing they'd done. A wash of light pink coated his skin underneath the swaths of freckles, pretty against the sunstone balcony and cerulean sky.
Once, the breeze lifted the wayward strands of his copper hair, and Aya’s fingers twitched with a desire to comb through them. That thought startled her. None of her thoughts had come so close to such obvious markers of a crush. But running her fingers through his hair was certainly a crush sort of thought. The air between them went silent, the breeze becoming colder as the sun sank toward the horizon.
“Eris?” She asked after a while, hoping to squeeze one more answer out of their time together.
“Yes?” His voice was a little sleepy, like he’d been lost in daydreams.
“Why do you trust me? Why answer all my questions about the Autumn Court and your mother?”
“Aya, are you always honest and genuine?” He asked.
“I try to be,” Her brows drew together, eyes searching his. A soft smile spread across his face.
“That is why,” He smiled, “You wear your intentions on your sleeve.”
Aya blushed, her lips parting to protest that she was not so good and pure as all that, but she was distracted. A familiar figure ebbed into the edge of her awareness. She turned her ear to confirm her suspicion before jumping to her feet and reaching to haul Eris with her.
“You have to go,” She cried, heart hammering.
“What?” Eris scrambled to his feet. He would have liked to have put his shoes back on first but she did not give him time.
“Thesan is coming,” She hissed, gathering up his shoes and socks and shoving them into his arms.
“I thought you said it was okay if I was here,” Eris whispered, eyes widening.
“Not in my room.”
“Oh,” His face drained of color.
“You can winnow from here,” Aya tossed two macarons into a napkin and shoved them into his hand.
“Right. Thank you very much for-”
“Yes, yes,” Aya waved a hand, clamoring to put the rest of the food and napkins back in the basket. With a snap of her fingers, the basket disappeared.
“Aya?” Thesan's voice drifted from the other side of her door. With a gasp, Eris was gone.
Aya whipped around just as the door opened, looking a little wind-swept but otherwise normal.
“What are you doing up here?” Thesan furrowed his brows, eyes moving slowly through the room.
“Looking for something I left,” She swallowed hard.
“Was someone here? It smells like-”
“New perfume,” She gave a stiff laugh, padding over to her closet, “Did you need something? I should change for dinner.”
“No,” He said, eyes narrowing, “I just wanted to check on you. Helene said you never went back to class.”
“All good,” She kept her eyes on the colorful clothing in front of her as she flicked through the hangers, “Just had a busy afternoon.”
“Right,” Thesan skimmed over the room one more time before offering a tight smile and retreating, closing the door behind him.
Aya huffed a sigh and let her head fall back, savoring the lingering scent of brown sugar and whiskey.
⋆。˚ ☁︎ ˚。⋆。˚☽˚。⋆
Eris stood still in his mother's courtyard, mind reeling as it tried to make sense of the last few moments. He blinked, and found himself meeting the gaze of his mother.
She sat at her garden table, hand stopped halfway to her embroidery hoop, needle poised between her fingers. She looked at him over the little readers perched at the end of her nose. They stared at each other for a long, awkward moment, Edana's expression unreadable and Eris's cheeks flushed pink as he held his boots and socks in his arms.
"Eris," His mother said finally. It was not exactly a greeting. And it was not very happy, whatever it was.
"Mother," He swallowed.
"Do not tell me," She began, setting the hoop and needle down on the table, "that you used my winnow spot to sneak off to another court and meet someone."
Eris opened and closed his mouth, trying to conjure an answer. Edana took a deep breath, nostrils flaring as she breathed in the scent surrounding him, and her eyes widened in anger.
"You were in the Dawn Court? You snuck off to the Dawn Court to have a clandestine meeting with your healer?"
That shook Eris from his stupor.
"Of course not," He spat, nearly dropping his boots.
"Then please do explain why you are winnowing home half dressed."
"I'm hardly half dressed, mother," He scoffed.
But he knew what she meant. That he was not often so relaxed as to go around barefooted. He did not exactly blame her for thinking he had just come from someone's bed. The look on her face told him that he had better start talking.
"It wasn't like that," He started, freeing one hand to tug through his hair in frustration, "We just talked. And...had snacks."
"Snacks?" She repeated, her mouth now spreading into a smile. Eris thought he might prefer for her to scold him again.
"Yes," He sighed, "She was worried I would fight Arlo if I stayed, so she convinced me to go back with her and cool off. And we talked and had snacks."
"So it was Aya?"
"Who else do I know in the Dawn Court, mother?"
"Perhaps you had snacks with Thesan," She shrugged innocently.
She was not exactly blind to the way Eris looked at Aya - with a reverence reserved for very few. And the tone he used with her was even rarer. She looked at her son, so careful with his heart, now walking around barefoot and saying words like snacks. It was probably good for him. Even as he looked at her with that exasperated expression, her heart swelled with love.
"Go clean up," She released him from her interrogation, "Your father wants to see you. News about the High Lord's meeting."
Eris sighed again, feeling all of the loveliness of his day disappearing as his responsibilities called once again. On his way into the house, he dropped the napkin of cookies onto the table beside the spools of thread.
“She sent these for you.”
She said nothing, but the smile that spread on Edana's face warmed Eris’s heart. In that gift, there was a truce.

Oh god, the Team's already killing me with the found family stuff, STOP IT /j So much going on, I need to go frame by fram:
I love that SMG3's talking to SMG1 and 2 here
Return of the Side Characters (TM)
SMG4, Mario, and Meggy are such a trio, that we need to come up with a name. Well, we already have the Star Trio (Four, Three, and Mario) so hmmmmm,
The Primaries (as in the primary colors and also being main characters) "But Meggy's orange-" Shhhhh, don't look too much into it, also a version of Meggy wore yellow in the Inside Out episode
I saw InkCap going around which is honestly a good one too

Kaizo's here too, hell yeah
Melony, Bob, Boopkins, and JubJub.... found family, please? 👀
sorry I just love this so much. If the Team's gonna do a Christmas episode, can we have a scene like this? I already wanted to be 3 and 4 just going shopping together to buy the gifts but it would be sweet to see everyone at the Castle opening their presents. We gotta keep going
Turning Red reference! That somehow fits Luigi perfectly
That's actually very sweet of you, Mario
OH that's right, Mario tried to do a Thanksgiving feast last time and that didn't go so well
It turns out that anyone can cook, and Mario has improved his skills. Anything is possible, very inspiring. Be like Mario :)
"Maybe I really am adopted." PFFT sorry that somehow got me
Aww, Luigi, it's okay. Anyone can have bad days, but you always have your bro to lean on.
....oh shit, what a jumpcut.
oh nooooo, I feel so bad for Meggy CAN I GIVE HER A HUG PLEASE?!
also Three, really? Or are you just putting up a front and do actually care? Because you didn't need to come, but you did anyway. (Unless you were, like, forced to.) We all saw what you did in the "Welcome to Puzzle Park" episode, you tried to save Four & Mario. I suspect that Three's like "Mario went along and did something stupid...again." Well, Three, what else did you expect? Besides, Mario did it for his bro
Mario could handle eating poison sooo it's must've been that bad of a food poisoning. at least he's alive
also TARI NEEDS A HUG TOO, THANK YOU SAIKO FOR COMFORTING HER
and ooohh, Karen feels upset about it too. After all, it was thanks to Mario, Karen was able to bond with her kids.
NOOO LUIGI DON'T FEEL BAD, YOU DIDN'T MEAN FOR THAT TO HAPPEN
holy shit, that car was just speeding (very realistic tbh)
oh hey Old Man, you're free!
[*looks at watch*] Eh, screw finals. It's time for my daily heartattack
OH the voiceacting! Hell yeah!!!
woah Luigi, you were so lucky... OMG PFFT I did not expect the truck to just crash into an orphanage
He did it!
oh Mario got out of the coma, hooray!
also very accurate pfp
"HI GUYS!" "Hi Steve!"
...wot?
they really are brothers :)
(mario without his mustache is still cursed)
ay the alarmo reference is back!
HEY don't you start comparing them! he's doing a fantastic job >:(
HOLD UP LUIGI GOT SOME MOVES, GO LUIGI GO
[*sigh*] how did we get here for this direct to be accurate?
Four still having a grudge against nintendo is so funny to me for some reason
BREAKING NEWS?!
can we have powerpoint presentations on the Wii from now on?
"Year of Luigi 2" I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they did that in real life bc Year of Shadow is doing so good right now
wait... don't tell me... WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE GONNA KILL HIM OFF
AAAWWWWWW DUDE STOPPPPPP
TRUE SIBLING MOMENT
HOLY SHIT THIS ANIMATION HOLD UP
wait a second... OMG, IS THAT A REMIX OF PHOENIX WRIGHT CORNERED THEME IN THE BACKGROUND??!??!?!?!?! WHOEVER PUT THAT IN THERE, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
THE BROTHERSHIP MEME, love that
HOW DARE THEY USE MY OWN WEAKNESS AGAINST ME? THAT'S NOT FAIR WTF
LOOK AT ME, NO DON'T LOOK AT ME /ref
can we give a round of applause for this one bc wow this was incredible
anyway, congrats to _SunFlower_sl for your art being featured in the credits 🎉 as it turns out, it's 3&4 as Sonic & Shadow which is honestly perfect (manifesting 3&4 to join Mario in a future Sonic Movie 3 episode, fuck it I'm gonna write it)
actually, this might be a sign hmmmmm
.・-: ✧ :--: ✧ :-・.
BRAVO! BRAVO! This was an amazing episode! I was already in a great mood seeing that we were getting a Luigi episode but the Team really went above and beyond on this one, especially the writing. We got to see some development for Luigi too. I really did love Mario being a supportive and loving brother. As the oldest sibling, this has my stamp of approval! (No, I'm not crying, what are you talking about?) Then, just the little nods here and there with callbacks and references, I really appreciate that.
Now, let's not forget the animation, voice acting, and editing! Great job, Team, as always. You guys manage to surprise me every time. And whoever put the cornered theme, I owe you everything 💙
Overall, 1000/10, highly recommended! I do hope they continue on this streak of well-written episodes. (I wouldn't mind another funny/wholesome episode.) Give yourself a pat on the back, Team, every one of you did amazing!
That's all from me! Now, I have to go and study for uni finals, wish me luck!

Tried out a whole bunch of new things with this piece- superhero whump, whump without a whumper, that thing where the characters don’t have assigned names and use neutral pronouns…I had fun!
Prompt used: Whumptober, slurred words/passing out from pain
Featuring: hero whump, impaled on debris, blood, ambulance
Whumptober Day Ten: Stay
The good news was, the monster was dead.
The bad news was, it fell with a crash right down the length of Main Street.
Hero winced as the cloud of dust dissipated, several car alarms wailing their displeasure at the giant alien...thing that had fallen too close to them. Those cars were the lucky ones. Several had gotten fully crushed under the weight of the massive creature. Thankfully Hero and Sidekick had managed to clear the area of people before the battle had taken off in earnest.
Where is Sidekick, anyway? Hero glanced around, but their young protege was nowhere to be seen. "Sidekick!" they called.
"Over here!"
Hero turned at the sound of the voice, heading down the street in the direction of where it had come from. Sidekick stood at the edge of the curb, smiling wearily. They waved when they saw Hero, their other hand hovering over their side.
"Chalk that up to another successful one?" Hero asked.
Sidekick chuckled breathlessly. "Y-yeah. We did it. Hooray for- for us."
"Are you all right?" Hero raised an eyebrow.
Sidekick's grin slipped. "I- yeah, I'm- fine." And then they were falling, crumpling to the street.
Hero barely managed to catch their head before it hit the pavement. "Hey, hey! Talk to me!" they shouted. "What's going on, what happened?"
Sidekick's head lolled like a rag doll's. They were unconscious, dead to the world- and Hero had no idea why.
Until they looked down.
A snapped-off piece of metal debris- likely from the fight- jutted out just above Sidekick's right hip. Their suit was soaked in blood around the wound, the fabric stained dark. Hero sucked in their breath sharply. That's not good.
They knew basic first aid, but not enough to deal with this. The likelihood of getting a call through to 911 was slim- they would be stretched thin with the aftermath of the battle.
The heroes were on their own.
Hero shook Sidekick's shoulder and was rewarded with a small moan. "Hey, can you hear me?" they asked urgently.
Sidekick's eyes fluttered. "What- happened?" they murmured.
"You passed out. Pain, shock, blood loss- I don't know."
"Blood loss?" Sidekick shook their head. "No. Didn't lose- we won."
"I know, but you got stuck with a piece of debris. I can't take it out without risking you bleeding to death, and I think we'd both prefer that not happen."
Sidekick laughed weakly. "Yeah." Their face had turned gray, layered with a sheen of sweat. "Hurts- a lot."
Hero found their hand, squeezing it. "I know. I know it hurts. I'm gonna get help as soon as I can, okay? Stay with me."
Sidekick nodded, but their eyes had started to slip closed again. "No, no," Hero urged. "Stay. You can't drift off, okay? Look- talk to me."
"'Bout what?"
"Anything. Just talk."
Sidekick frowned, their eyebrows knitting together as they thought. "...you're a really good hero," they finally mumbled. "And I like workin' with you. We- we fought the monster?"
"Yeah. It's dead."
"Oh, good. I think it- think it crushed a couple of buildings. Cars too, lots of cars." Their voice was beginning to fade, the words slurring together.
"I'm going to try and call an ambulance," Hero said.
Sidekick grabbed at their hand weakly. "Don't go."
"I won't, I promise. I'm staying right here. Yes? Hello? This is Hero, my sidekick is badly injured and I need an ambulance right now."
"You put your hero voice on."
"My what?"
Sidekick flopped a hand up and down. "Your hero voice. Y'know, the one where you tell the civilians to get out the way cause we're here to save the day." They smiled. "That rhymes."
Hero squeezed their hand. "You're a good sidekick, you know. The best I could hope for."
"Awww. Thanks."
Sidekick's smile slipped again, and Hero dropped to their knees beside them, pulling Sidekick onto their lap and cradling their head in their arms. "Stay with me, now," they whispered. "I see the ambulance coming up the road. Can you hear it?"
Sidekick nodded faintly. "'S loud."
"Yeah. They're gonna help you, okay? You're going to be just fine." Hero kept up the stream of comforting babble even as the paramedics got their sidekick loaded into the van.
"I'm coming with them," they said firmly.
"Sorry, immediate family only."
Hero took a deep breath. "I'm their parent," they announced, and shoved their way into the ambulance to take hold of Sidekick's hand.

Cass and Tim
Side piece of Ripple Effect AU. Deep dive into the relationship between Tim and Cass.
What make Fanon Cass great is that, she's tiny cinnamon roll but can kill you. Lots of fanfic also write her as a representation for a sign language user. Then, I might made you mad. Look, I'm just borrowing the skin of the characters, okay? And I'm trying to teach myself to make a plot driven character development. Yes, the origin stories are changed. Thus, it is a Reverse Robin + parallel universe.
Who is Cassandra Cain in the Ripple Effect AU?
R.E Au only reverse the age of the robins. Since Cass is no Robin she will remain as her original age. However! Instead of becoming Batgirl, she instead became a mercenary. At the age of 14 she realised what her father has been training her into. So, I made her hard nut to crack. She confronted her father head on, of course young Cass cannot win against David Cain. After escaping her near death, she left to find her mother. Shiva wasn't at all different from David. Cass stayed in hope to be near someone of family. She trained under her mother for 2 months. When Shiva started to see her daughter as competition, she tried to trick Cass into drinking poison but Cass found out so she left again.
All Cass knew in her life is killing. There was no good or bad in killing. So she took on kill quests and became a well-known-no-named mercenary.
She arrived to Gotham when she accept to hunt down Tim Drake for her client.
Can Cass speak?
Cass hasn't learn any language under David, and when she escaped to her mother, Shiva didn't bother to teach her either. So as Cass travelled, she ended up in a Russia gang. They were the first one to teach Cass speech. So, you can imagine Cassandra with a thick russian accent when she speak english.😏
From there on learning language is easy for her. The russian gang also become her first real family. And under them she became a mercenary.
Will Cass succeed in killing Tim?
Of course not. I can't let the story end like that. This AU is mainly focus on Damian and Tim so.
But let me describe how she approached Tim.
This is after Tim had successfully became the Grandmaster. Naturally, he will has many enemies. One of the Court of Owl members actually hired Cass because he wanted to become the Grandmaster.
Cass became a mercenary at 17, got to Gotham at 22. Tim is 25 then.
To approach Tim, Cass actually disguised herself as a bodyguard. And surprisingly she built a really solid portfolio that she pass the screening and got the job.
The day she got the job, there were set back she could've never imagined. As soon as Gotham Magazine saw Tim Drake had hired a female bodyguard, the press had a field day -with the next day front page being :
"TIM DRAKE ROLLING IN THE SHEET WITH HIS NEW FEMALE BODYGUARD???"
"CEO X BODYGUARD ROMANCE???"
The news became so sensational that it even reach the ear of David Cain. (Of course, hearing about his daughter rolling in the sheet with some random boy, he got mad.) I'm just joking, he got furious about the betrayal and that he finally found her and set out to Gotham to kill her.
So before Cassandra had any chance to act out her plan, David Cain crash through the window of Tim's floor. (He's in a new apartment, not the Drake manor) Hooray for Tim! He survive the unknown assassination due to Papa Cain.
Cass was losing the fight against a rage filed David Cain. But girl, did she put up one hell of a fight. The fight has come to an end when David has successfully pin down Cass crushing her airway. But like all supervillain, he had a monologue prepared.
Tim took the chance sneak behind David to knock him out with a steel barstool. David Cain actually manage to block against the stool but that was all Cass needed to lunge a knife into his guts and kick him away.
After stabbing her father to death multiple times, she thanked Tim. Saying that she would not kill him and would leave him alone. Tim suggested a better idea of hiring her as a real bodyguard and paying her more than her previous client.
Cass accepted, not because of the money but because of her life saving debt she's indebted to Tim.
After David Cain died, Cassandra became the new Orphan.
Will Cassandra ever become Batgirl and join the Batfam?
No, Cass won't become Batgirl. Barbara isn't crippled yet. Her relationship into becoming family with the Waynes has the same chance as Tim. But let me make it clear, even if she join the batfam, she would be Tim's person and not one of the Wayne.
Yellowhedgehog, are you trying to set up Tim and Cass as a pair?😬
Not in this AU, no. But I bet they would make one hell of a power couple.😁

"CEO TIM DRAKE GOT PRINCESS CARRY OUT OF A HOSTAGE SITUATION BY HIS BODYGUARD IN SHINY ARMOR, CASSANDRA CAIN!"
"CEO x BODYGUARD ROMANCE IS ALIVE AND THE SHIP IS SAILING!!"

Went to the local art supply store today and got an "easy block" of watercolor paper (only glued down in two sides), a board to tape my mixed media paper to for watercolor purposes, and an angled brush!
Fully half the time I spent there was just me staring at the brushes. I was a bit lost. There were SO many options. Ended up grabbing a synthetic brush that said it was for acrylic and watercolors. One of the employees told me the difference between hot and cold press paper and I meant to get cold press paper but forgot that the one I had grabbed was hot press. Oh well! I'll remember next time!
It was a nice outing! I like the art store. It's neat! They have so much cool stuff! I want all of it! I did manage to stay on budget though. And I've been home for an hour and I haven't crashed yet! Hooray!
