Tardy - T.C.
part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | part 5 | part 6 | part 7 | part 8 | part 9 | part 10 | part 11
Tara Carpenter x Fem!Reader
Warnings: None??
Summary: You come late to a class one day, and an unexpected friendship, (and maybe more) blossoms.
Word Count: 1.5k
A/N: Woo! This was a long one to write, and i'm not sure if i added enough fluff in there, but if you guys want a part two, i'm happy to write more :)
You had been pining over this girl for six months. At first it was all fun and games, just some motivation to get up and into class each morning. But soon with every nice gesture and soft smile she sent your way, it turned into something more.
Tara Carpenter.
She was the prettiest girl you've ever laid your eyes on, with wide doe eyes and freckles littered everywhere across her face. You'd noticed her one particular day when you had realized you overslept, rushed into class, in nothing but your jamies and an oversize hoodie.
When you opened the doors, a little loud, okay maybe a lot loud, everyone's heads snapped to you. You stilled, acutely aware of everyone’s eyes on you.
A small giggle sounded through the room, and you locked eyes with a short-looking brunette.
Feeling embarrassed enough to last a lifetime, you quickly hurried over and sat next to the girl, a blush rising up your neck at everyone still staring.
"As I was saying..." The professor began, to which most people took their eyes off you and focused back on the lesson. You breathed out a sigh.
"That was quite an entrance, if I do say so myself." A voice sounded beside you.
When you turned your head to look at her, the comeback you had so cleverly thought up died in your throat.
"I- um, hi! Yeah, it was a crazy day, see- I just went to a party last night and I might've gotten crazy drunk and then forgot to set my alarm and woke up and realized we had a test today, so I really wasn't thinking about my outfit, but-" You stopped when you realized you'd been rambling, the blush rising to the tip of your ears now, though for a totally different reason.
The girl cocked an eyebrow up and gave a tiny smirk.
"Sorry, my name's YN. I'm not usually this stupid." You offered her a handshake, head turned down in embarrassment.
"A handshake?" She asked a little teasingly, but took your hand nevertheless.
Deciding you'd already embarrassed yourself enough for one day, you turned back to the teacher, determined not to act stupid in front of this pretty girl.
"Tara." She mumbled after a while, but loud enough for you to hear.
"I'm sorry?"
She turned to you and tilted her head a bit, like staring hard enough would allow her to read your mind.
"My name's Tara." She said, giving you another soft smile.
You felt your lips start to tug upwards at the ends, and a giddy feeling, like butterflies entered your stomach.
"Pleased to meet you, Tara."
_
The both of you never talked about the routine you got into, but ever since that first day, when you walked into class and scanned the room, you would always look for Tara first.
She would always leave a seat beside her for you, death glaring anyone that tried to sit in it.
It was a comfortable situation, and you were content in being in her company, even though it was only for a few hours.
You’d bring her and yourself some coffee, quickly remembering what her go-to order was.
Sometimes you guys would study together in the library, throwing flirty comments and looking at each other longer than friends should.
You couldn’t help but get distracted sometimes in class, what with such a gorgeous girl next to you, how could you not?
Unbeknownst to you, Tara would also sneak some peeks in, but she was a lot more discreet about it. You never caught her staring once.
-
But on one random Tuesday morning, she wasn't there. It was weird of Tara to not be there before you, since you were always late, but you shrugged it off and figured she might've gotten lost on the way to class. She would never miss a class in her life. You brushed the nagging feeling in your chest away.
Halfway through the lesson, the nagging feeling turned into outright worry. Tara would never miss a class without an important reason, and if she did, she would have at least texted you about it. The two of you had grown pretty close in the last semester.
y/n: Hey, are you okay?
She never answered.
As soon as the class ended, you sprinted outside and started running.
Finding the way to Tara's apartment was a bit challenging, seeing as though you'd never been there before. But Tara had given the address to you once, during a frat party you attended together.
You swayed on the heels of your feet anxiously, hoping Tara was home and not out somewhere dangerous. You had heard news of a new killer around, though you didn't pay it much attention. You certainly didn't want Tara to be one of his victims though.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
A girl you'd never seen before opens the door, expression clearly annoyed. She looked a bit like Tara, but her demeanor was all dark and gloomy, completely unlike Tara.
"Um...is Tara home?" You mumbled, starting to feel small under her intense gaze.
"And who the hell are you? " She asked, eyebrows furrowed, arms crossed in front of her chest.
"YN?" Came a voice from inside, and you immediately recognized it as Tara's.
The girl at the door was pushed aside gently, and you looked down to see Tara, a curious expression painting her face.
"Ohmygod i'm so glad your okay. I was so worried I thought that psycho killer might've gotten you." You mumbled as you pulled her in for a tight embrace, her face nuzzling in the side of your neck. A small giggle erupted from the girl, and she held you a little tighter.
You stayed like that for a while, until someone loudly cleared their throat beside you.
You pulled away quickly, forgetting that there were other people present, and straightened up, raising your hand to the girl who greeted you at the door.
“Sam? Is everything okay?” Came a male voice from inside the apartment.
“Yeah, we’re good Chad!” She shouted back, still eyeing you like you were scum on earth.
You took a breath and stepped forward, raising your hand and meeting her eye.
"Hi. I'm YN." She eyed your hand, arms still crossed and very much still looking furious.
"A handshake?" She shot Tara a look, expressing something like a "really? this is the one you pick?"
"Yeah i'm sorry if i'm intruding, I just wanted to make sure Tara was okay since she didn't come to class today." You explained.
The older girl was fast to snap back, "You are, and you've seen her, so you should leave now."
"Sam!" Tara exclaimed, taking a hold of your wrist to prevent you from leaving.
"It's okay Tara, I don't mind. As long as I know you’re okay, then I’m good." You whispered, making sure she looked you in the eye to express how serious you were.
Her eyes softened a little, before turning to Sam and speaking slowly.
"He must've saw her come up. We can't let her go. She might get attacked."
You furrowed your eyebrows, starting to get confused about what they were talking about.
Sam must've saw the look in Tara's eyes, because she rebuffed her immediately, glaring at you as she said, "Absolutely not. I know nothing about her, you know nothing about her. For all we know, she's the killer!"
At that you step in.
"Woah, woah woah. I just gotta defend myself here and say I don't know what you're talking about right now, but I am most definitely not a killer." You winked at the older girl, trying to keep the mood light.
Oh shit. That sounds exactly like something a killer would say.
"I mean-! I'm just Tara's friend, I wanted to make sure she was okay. She never misses class so I came to check on her." You hurried out, seeing the look of suspicion growing on Sam's face.
"Please, Sam. How many innocent people are you gonna let die? And if she is the killer, then we'll have her right here with us! We'll keep an eye on her." Tara pleaded, though her tone was more pressed than anything.
Sam let out a scoff, and walked away, further into their apartment.
You’re left standing in the hallway corridor, not really sure what just happened.
"I guess that's a yes." Tara sing-songed and smiled at you, pulling you in and closing the door and giving you a peck on the cheek.
Your eyes widened and you tried your best not to gulp, but by the way Tara's smile turned even bigger, you know you failed.
"Come on, let's go meet the others." She tugged on your wrist, which she was still keeping a death grip on. Effectively dragging you forward to the living room.
You snap out of your daze and start to follow her, but not before asking a question you should’ve asked about five minutes before.
"What's this about me being a killer again?"

Part 6 of Merlin Hood
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 7, Part 8, Part 9, Part 10, Part 11, Part 12
Still in the past at Merlin’s magic trial, next part will be back to the present!
The first thing Merlin notices when he wakes up is that it’s daylight. He should have waken Arthur up hours ago, but somethings not right. Merlin knows he didnt need to wake Arthur up today for some reason, but what was the reason?
Uther: Merlin of Ealdor, you stand accused of using magic and treason to the crown. What do you have to say for yourself?
Oh, that’s right, its because Merlin is to be put to death today.
Uther: Well, do you have anything to say?
Merlin: *mumbles under his breath*
Uther: *angry* What was that?
Merlin: I said, ‘What makes me any different?’
Uther: 😡 What?
Merlin: Its just that you’ve murdered thousands of sorcerers and magical beings and never listened to them. What makes me any different?
Arthur: Merlin!
Merlin: No, Arthur, I’m already going to die, no thanks to you. I’d like to finally get the answers to questions I’ve been silent about my whole life.
Arthur looks at Merlin with a look on his face between apologetic and confused. Merlin has always found that look adorable, but under the current circumstances he has to look away. Arthur cant save him now.
Uther: You said you have your questions. I am willing to hear your last remarks. Ask away but do not expect any answers.
Merlin: Great! First question, when you decided to keep the last great dragon under the castle, did you do that just so he could torture me with half truths and vague prophecies or did he decide to do that on his own?
Uther: The great dragon?
Merlin: From the look on your face, I’m going to take that as a no and that you maybe didnt even know he could talk. Next question: the law says its illegal to ‘study and practice magic’ if I didnt study it, but just practiced it, would it still be a death sentence or could I be let off with a time served kind of deal?
Gauis: Merlin!
Merlin: What! I’m gonna die anyway, might as well see if there is any leniency.
Uther: So, you admit to practicing magic, then? Guards, take the prisoner to the pyre! I dont want to hear another word.
Merlin: *smiling a little too wide to be friendly* …And here I thought you actually wanted to hear me out. *Merlin shakes his head* Oh, Uther, you see, I don’t just practice magic. I am magic.
As the guards approach Merlin from all sides, he snaps his fingers and disappears.
Uther: Find him!
Merlin: *appears right behind Arthur* Arthur.
Arthur: *spins around too quickly in fright and tumbles into Merlin, who catches him* Ahh!
Merlin: *smiling while trying to keep Arthur upright* I don’t have much time.
Uther: There! *points at Merlin* Get away from my son!
Merlin: *takes off his neckerchief* If you ever need me for any reason, *starts to hand the neckerchief to Arthur, but Arthur doesn’t take it* seriously, Arthur, I’m trying to have a heartfelt moment here, you utter prat.
Arthur: *starts to smile at the insult, but quickly hides it with his blank princely expression* Merlin, you have to leave.
Merlin: That’s what I’m trying to do! *hastily ties the neckerchief around Arthurs wrist* If you need me, leave that in the darkling woods and I’ll be there as soon as I can.
Merlin jumps onto the throne that Uther vacated when Merlin vanished.
Merlin: People of Camelot! I will not die at the hands of King Uther in his unjust war on magic. I am Emrys, the most powerful warlock to ever walk the Earth. The Once and Future king is the only one I serve. I will be back when he reigns. Until then, however… *Merlin looks directly at Uther* …I’m going to make your life a very difficult. *turns to Gwen and Morgana* If anyone needs me I’m only a call away. *Merlin snaps his fingers and disappears again*
In Merlin’s absence, flowers fill the room and nobody says a word just staring at the flowers around them completely covering the floor.
Morgana: *picks up a flower and puts it in Gwen’s hair* Beautiful.
Gwen: *smiles, before creasing her eyes in worry* Do you think he’ll be alright?
Morgana: *looking over at Arthur who is staring solemnly at the neckerchief tied around his wrist* I’ll think he’ll be just fine.

You didn’t want to go home.
Final exams were just a week away, and summer break would follow soon after. For anyone else, it would bring about a much-needed relief, a moment to breathe after the grueling interim leading up to the end of the semester. For you, however, all that awaited was a looming, unshakeable sense of dread.
You hadn’t returned to your hometown for nearly six months now, choosing instead to spend all of your vacation time on campus, pouring yourself into assignments and studies far sooner and far more vigorously than required. But summer break would be an exception to this new, comfortably avoidant routine of yours. The excuse that you were busy became significantly less convincing when you had no classes to attend to, and you were certain that your parents wouldn’t let you get away with not visiting home for at least a week or two, especially when the trip was less than an hour by train.
It would be the one year anniversary soon, of the loss of your closest friend. The memory was still too fresh in your mind, the wound was still wide open and festering. You hadn’t given it proper time to heal—or, any time to heal, for that matter—instead having grown accustomed to slapping on a temporary fix and replacing it only when deemed absolutely necessary. Just enough to get by, to keep yourself together.
It wouldn’t be that easy to ignore once you returned home, though. Not even close. Every flickering streetlight, every newly blossomed tree, every crack in the sidewalk that had once been so reassuring in its familiarity, was laced with memories of her. They were memories that used to make your life brighter, warmer; like a glowing ball of light you carried around in your chest wherever you went. Now, they only stung.
The sound of your phone vibrating against the nightstand snapped you out of your brooding. You reached out aimlessly for it through the darkness of your bedroom, squinting as the harsh screen light nearly blinded you in the process.
A familiar flash of gray was all you needed to see to open the notification with embarrassing haste.
chan 🐺 (3:08 a.m.) let’s go here!
For a brief moment, you were at a loss, then, the link to a nearby bungeoppang shop followed.
chan 🐺 (3:09 a.m.) their custard is so sooo sooooooo good
chan 🐺 (3:10 a.m.) akskdnsnsksjsjsk
You were grinning before you even finished reading his messages, fondness flooding your chest in place of the heavy, melancholic fog that had been occupying it all night.
you (3:11 a.m.) yummy~ we can go during finals week as a pick me up!
chan 🐺 (3:11 a.m.) yuo’re awake,??
you (3:11 a.m.) that’s my line!
Just as you were typing out another response, your screen changed to signal Chan’s incoming call, making you scramble upright in bed. You should’ve come to expect it by now, but even so, it still felt just as new and exhilarating as the first time that wolf emoji had popped up out of the blue. Predictably unpredictable.
His greeting came the instant you picked up, oddly cheerful considering how late into the night it was.
“Hey!”
“Hi, Channie,” you said softly. “Y’know, I think I’ve got you all figured out.”
“Oh?” Chan sounded taken aback. “What do you mean?”
“You’re only a phone guy when you should be asleep.”
Confusion melted into amusement, and you could hear the grin in his voice when he replied. “Hm…maybe you’re right,” he agreed. “But what’s your excuse, then?”
You paused. “I guess I’m only a good texter when it comes to you.”
The shy giggles that filled your ears didn’t disappoint. They made you feel light, carefree; like everything that had been responsible for keeping you wide awake for the past three hours was suddenly so trivial in the face of his laughter.
“So, what are you up to?” you asked.
“Trying to trick myself to fall asleep,” he said it like a joke, but you could feel the weariness behind his words. It tugged at your emotions in a way that you knew all too well. The urge to help him, to take care of him.
Your heart welcomed it, but your mind rejected it, and you were more keen on letting the latter call the shots these days. So, as naturally as it came, you pushed it away.
“By thinking about bungeoppang?”
Another giggle. “Well, more like thinking about things I wanna do with you.”
You held your breath to avoid letting a reaction slip out, but there was no way to repress the butterflies that fluttered to life in your stomach. Thankfully, Chan didn’t seem to notice. It was the one thing about you he could never quite catch, like his obliviousness to his own charm stood in the way of an otherwise razor-sharp intuition.
“How about you? What’s got you awake?”
You could clearly envision the attentive eyes and curious head tilt accompanying his question. It almost made you want to answer without restraint, to share all the thoughts that you’d been needlessly torturing yourself with for days now, rotating over and over in your head until they snowballed into something out of your control.
You stopped yourself just in time. He didn’t need to hear something like that at this hour—or, ever, really.
“Just thinking about the summer.” It wasn’t entirely a lie, and you hoped it’d be enough to get past his scrutiny.
“Oh!” he chirped. “Are you excited?”
Absolutely not. “Kinda,” you were grateful he couldn’t see your expression. “More excited about it than finals, anyway.”
“It’ll be fine!” he said confidently. “Just two more weeks, and we’re free, yeah?”
“Yeah,” you smiled. “I’m gonna miss our study sessions.”
Chan had switched from the astrophysics track after his spring semester of senior year—cutting it close was an understatement—so any classes you’d be taking for your final term in the fall would be completely new territory for him. You didn’t doubt for a second that he might try to continue tutoring you and Changbin regardless, but after finding out how hard he’d been pushing himself to help you with subjects that he already had experience with, you couldn’t in good conscience allow him to do that to himself again.
Not that you needed the study sessions as an excuse to see him anymore, but still, you felt strangely wistful about it.
“Me too,” he hummed, as if his mind had drifted to the same place. “That reminds me, you left your sweater here the other day.”
“Oh! I didn’t even notice.”
“You must’ve been distracted by something,” he sang.
You let your chuckle slip out this time, more than ready to indulge him. “Well, there was this really cute boy there. Do you think he’d be willing to give it back to me?”
“Ah…” his attempt at teasing you backfired so spectacularly that he went silent for a moment. “He was cute? I don’t believe you.”
“Cute enough to kiss,” you confirmed.
You registered a sudden rustling sound on the other line, followed by the faintest squeak, as if he were physically unable to contain his giddiness. The thought of it nearly had you burying your face in your pillow yourself. You wished you could see him.
“Then,” he swallowed. “He might give it back to you, for a kiss.”
The memory of his lips on yours washed over you all at once, so vividly that you could even recall how his soft cheeks had felt cupped in your palms and how his shaky breath had fanned over your skin.
“Is that a promise?” You held out your pinky in the darkness. It buzzed with warmth, and you wondered briefly if he was mirroring your action on his end, or if it was just the lingering heat that he’d left on you.
“Promise,” he breathed.
。⋆。˚ ʚïɞ ˚。⋆。⋆。˚ ʚïɞ ˚。⋆。⋆。˚ ʚïɞ ˚。⋆。
The final lecture of PHYS 408: Thermodynamics and Statistical Mechanics, more or less went exactly as you had predicted. No review for the final exam, no rundown of what to expect, and certainly no heartfelt announcement from Dr. Choi, letting you all know what a joy of a section you’d been to teach. If it weren't for the date and time of the exam scribbled on the whiteboard behind him, you might’ve thought he’d forgotten about it altogether.
He’d droned on for the first hour of class, delivering your last lesson of the semester with the same perpetual stiffness as day one, then had so generously granted the remaining 15 minutes as free time for studying amongst yourselves. Changbin appeared ready to bolt the moment the words left your professor’s mouth, but you’d stubbornly convinced him to stay just a bit longer and study with you. It was more for his sake than anything else, considering he’d only attended one of the two final exam reviews with Chan.
Changbin, it seemed, had other plans, as he hadn’t let a minute pass by without getting distracted from the task at hand and trying to start a conversation with you.
“By the way, you'll be at the get-together won’t you? Before the summer ends.”
You looked up from your notes, already sensing some kind of trap being set up.
“And by get-together you mean…?”
Changbin’s lips curved into a sheepish half-smile; caught, even with his careful phrasing.
“Well, I guess it’s more of a party.”
You made a face. You’d been to a handful of parties the past three years of your university experience, each one having been more unpleasant and suffocating than the last.
“I’m not sure, Bin. Not really my scene, y’know?”
“It’ll be your scene if I'm there, trust me.” Changbin lifted his head with a grin, and you might have rolled your eyes if his overblown confidence wasn’t so endearing.
“Uh-huh,” you played along. “Now I'm just itching to go.”
“Doesn’t the bond we’ve built these past months mean anything to you?” he whined. “It could be our last chance to really hang out!”
“It’s not like we’re dying, Seo Changbin,” you said, unimpressed. “I know for a fact that you’re taking the same Experimental Physics section as me next semester because we both put it off.”
Changbin clicked his tongue, shutting his book dramatically—which made no difference, really, considering he hadn’t read a single line of text from it. “Alright, fine. You’ve made it clear how little you value our friendship today.”
Just when you thought he’d accepted defeat, he continued.
“And of course,” a devious glint crossed his eyes. “It wouldn’t change your mind if I told you a certain friend of mine was coming?”
Ah. Despite your vigilance, it appeared you’d fallen right into his trap anyway.
“A certain friend?” you echoed. It came casual, but inside, your mind was swarming with countless possibilities. You hadn’t yet told Changbin about everything that had transpired between you and Chan, and you weren’t sure if Chan had mentioned anything to him either. The issue wasn’t so much that you were afraid of how Changbin would react, it was more about preparing yourself to deal with the theatrics of it all, the internal battle between horror and smugness that was sure to ensue inside him; because, on one hand, he’d been right, but on the other hand, he’d been right.
You could already picture it: scolding and teasing all at once, “I leave you alone with my best friend for one night and you kiss him!?”
You would never hear the end of it.
“A certain Bang Chan,” he elaborated, looking a bit disappointed when you didn’t give him the reaction he’d hoped for.
Knowing that Chan would be there admittedly piqued your interest, but not in the way Changbin seemed to think. You were more so curious as to what would draw him into such an environment—if he would be in his element, or awkwardly out of place. He was a social butterfly, sure, with a friends list that could probably fill up your entire Theoretical Methods notebook, but even so, a college party just wasn’t the kind of pastime you’d imagined him to indulge in all that much.
Still, you could be wrong. You simultaneously felt like you knew so much about Chan, yet so little. It was like you could envision the completed puzzle of him in your mind, but still didn’t quite have all the pieces in your hand.
With a start, you realized that Changbin might mistake your silence for something else, and you forced out a response before he could get too suspicious.
“Chan’s going?” you asked. “Is that his kind of thing?”
“Hm…not usually,” he tapped your pencil against the tabletop, as if it required deep thought. “At least, he’s not big on drinking and all that.”
The surge of satisfaction you felt in being correct came so strong that you were almost taken aback. It went hand in hand with that ever-present desire to know him, every part of him, better than anyone else.
“So, what’s the occasion, then? Because I know you’re not exactly a party animal yourself, Mr. Principles.”
“I’m the life of any party I go to.” He said it so seriously that you couldn’t help but snort, earning you a defensive swat to the shoulder.
“But, you do have a point,” he admitted once your giggles had died down. “It is sort of a special occasion.”
You leaned in, fully immersed now. He was being uncharacteristically roundabout today, and when that signature, shy smirk crept up on his face, you knew there was definitely something else brewing under the surface.
“It’s an event for the student music organization here on campus, so we get to do a little showcase.”
Your eyes widened. “We? As in 3RACHA?”
He simply beamed, the look of pride on his face speaking for itself.
“Bin! Are you serious!?”
For once, you were the one turning heads in you and Changbin’s direction, but you couldn’t find it in you to feel self-conscious about your outburst. “Like, a live performance?”
He wiggled in his spot, clearly basking in your excitement. “Just one song, but, yeah.”
“Still, that’s amazing!” you piped. “You should’ve just said that from the beginning, you know I’ll go if it means seeing you perform.”
“I know,” he scrunched up his nose, the embarrassment finally starting to get to him. “But I didn’t wanna flaunt. Modesty is key, after all.”
You shot him an amused look. “Is that one of your principles?”
“The most important one,” he said proudly.
Though you were less than enthused about attending a party of that magnitude, in that moment you felt nothing but delight bubbling up in your chest; for Changbin, for yourself, for Chan. You wondered what his reaction to the news had been like, if he’d broken out into that thousand-watt smile of barely-contained glee, or if the prospect of sharing his music in front of so many people had reduced him to a panicked mess, scrambling to get everything in order to put on the best performance possible.
The clock struck 9:15 a.m. to signal the end of your final lecture period. Naturally, you and Changbin hadn’t gotten any studying done, with his little announcement serving as the nail in the coffin for your motivation to work. As you gathered up your belongings and rose from your chair, an unexpected wave of nostalgia overtook you. It was likely the last time you’d be sitting in it, given that even the most absent of students would be showing up on the day of the final and taking any spot they could find. In a weird way, you were going to miss it. Some of your most miserable recollections from the semester were associated with it—stress, exhaustion, confusion, pressure—but it had brought about some of your most cherished moments as well; some of your most cherished people.
Changbin seemed to notice the sentimental expression on your face, and he gave you a gentle nudge as you strolled together out of the classroom.
“A lot has changed since that first day, huh?”
“Yeah,” you let your shoulder bump against his. “It has.”
You hoped, desperately, that it was the start of something better.
。⋆。˚ ʚïɞ ˚。⋆。⋆。˚ ʚïɞ ˚。⋆。⋆。˚ ʚïɞ ˚。⋆。
In the end, you and Chan hadn’t been able to line your schedules up even once throughout finals week to make room for your bungeoppang date. Amidst the storm of projects, presentations, exams, and papers, the two of you barely found time in the day to fulfill basic necessities, let alone to hang out with one another. You were particularly worried about the self-care situation on his end, already well-acquainted with his tendency to neglect his health whenever he was swamped. All you could do was send short, uplifting messages every few days, encouraging him to get some rest before the sun came up.
The dangling promise of fish-shaped bread (and, of course, the boy that came with it) had carried you through the week more than you’d like to admit, and by the time your last exam of the semester came around, your patience was on its last legs. You turned in your Astronomical Techniques test with plenty of time to spare, scurrying out of the lecture hall and making your way to the campus gym as quickly as your feet would allow.
Pushing open the doors to the natatorium where you and Chan had agreed to meet, you were immediately hit with the stinging scent of chlorine and thunderous sound of overlapping splashes. You scanned over the area in search of his familiar face, overwhelmed by the sea of identical swim caps. When you spotted him at last, he wasn’t emerging from the locker room like you’d expected him to be—freshly showered and, most importantly, clothed. No, instead, your eyes landed on him just in time to witness him rising from the pool, muscular arms hoisting his body up the ledge and sending streams of water cascading down his broad shoulders and back.
You froze, too mesmerized by the sight to even think about looking away before he could notice you. He pulled his swim cap off along with his goggles, shaking his wet curls free and confirming that it was, in fact, Bang Christopher Chan standing shirtless before you.
It was almost laughable, how your heartbeat picked up to an alarming speed, hammering faster in your chest the more you studied his figure. The full curve of his pecs, the toned ridges of his abdomen, the lean dip in his waist, disappearing into his swim trunks. His skin was glistening and almost annoyingly untouched. You wanted to sully it, to leave it marked up and littered with traces of you.
A sudden squeak of your name snapped you back to your senses. With how intensely you’d been staring, it shouldn’t have come as a surprise to you that Chan’s head would whip around in your direction, as if he could physically feel the holes your gaze had been burning into his skin.
“Y-you’re here!” he stammered. A part of you wondered if he might’ve done this on purpose, secretly hoping for you to find him like this when he’d suggested that you meet up with him after practice. But, judging by the way he shrank into himself, arms flying up to cross over his chest at the speed of light, he was just as mortified as you were.
You took a breath, forcing yourself to get it together. “I guess I finished my exam earlier than I thought,” your voice sounded steady, at least. “Sorry for sneaking up on you.”
Chan shifted his weight from side to side, eyes darting between you and the floor. “No worries,” he chuckled awkwardly. You made a point to avoid looking anywhere but his face for the sake of his comfort, but the way his ears had flushed a very obvious shade of red was just as distracting, if not more.
He cleared his throat. “Uh, we’re done for the day, anyway. I just gotta shower, then I’m all yours!”
You wished he hadn’t phrased it like that. “Sure, take your time.”
You managed a quick smile, turning towards the bench on the far end of the pool so he could walk to the locker rooms without worrying about covering himself up.
As if that whole altercation hadn’t been embarrassing enough already, it took the entirety of the ten minutes he spent in the shower for the adrenaline rushing through your veins to finally ebb.

“I can’t believe you just did that.”
It was the first time you’d ever really heard Chan whine—childish and pouty in a way that could give even Changbin a run for his money.
You giggled triumphantly, waving the bungeoppang in his face to really rub it in.
Chan had made the grave mistake of offhandedly telling you what he planned to order as the two of you chatted on the way to the shop, and when he’d whispered to you that he was going to run to the bathroom as you were studying the menu, the opportunity that presented itself was just too perfect for you to pass up.
Instead of waiting, you’d lined up on your own, praying that you would make it before he returned. In the end, you’d succeeded, ordering for him and yourself and paying for both portions just in the nick of time, much to his horror.
“This upset over my first win?” you taunted. “I didn’t know you were so competitive, Channie.”
He huffed, pressing his lips together in a way that made his cheeks swell. The good-natured twinkle in his eyes remained, however, and he eventually accepted the pastry in defeat. “Still, thank you.”
You softened. “Of course. It’s the least I could do.”
The two of you slipped into the nearest booth, settling in across from each other. Chan looked ready to devour his order within seconds of sitting down, but before he could, you reached out, bungeoppang in hand, as if proposing a toast.
“Here’s to getting through finals alive,” you declared.
He grinned, tapping his bread against yours. “Cheers!”
You bit into your share, the light crispness of the crust blending perfectly with its filling. Chan had been right about this place’s custard; the way its flavor flooded your tongue was nothing short of heavenly.
“Oh my God,” you mumbled. “This is so good.”
He let out a blissful hum of agreement. You glanced up to find him already halfway done with his share, cheeks stuffed and lips puckered as he chewed happily away. A stray drop of custard had stuck to the corner of his mouth, right next to the curve of his dimple, and it took everything in you not to lean in and kiss him right then and there.
Chan’s eyes fluttered open as he swallowed his massive mouthful, and you straightened up in your spot, trying to pretend like you hadn’t just been daydreaming about eating custard off of his face.
“By the way,” you began. “Changbin told me you guys are performing at the end of the summer?”
“Ah…” he brought his bungeoppang up to his nose, like he hoped to disappear behind it. “Yeah, seems like it. It’s not a big deal, though, really.”
“It is! I wish you’d told me, I definitely don’t wanna miss it.”
His gaze peeked up above the half-eaten bread, and you might’ve thought he was just playing coy if the look in his eyes wasn’t so adorably hopeful, searching your expression for a sincere show of interest.
“Really?”
“Of course,” you said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world. “Plus, Bin would never let me live it down if I did.”
“True,” he grinned. “Would you believe me if I said I wanted to tell you?”
“Oh?”
“I was just kinda embarrassed about it,” he chuckled. “Dunno if I’d be able to face you after.”
Something about the way he said it nearly made you melt. How very like him, to feel self-conscious about performing in front of you before it’d even happened. Unable to help yourself any longer, you reached forward and brushed your thumb along the edge of his lips, scooping up the drop of custard—though, really, it was just an excuse to touch him.
Chan looked caught off guard for a moment, fingers flexing around the pastry in his hand. Then, the smile was back on his face, even wider this time.
“You’re so cute,” you murmured. “If you say that, it just makes me wanna see you more, y’know.”
He reached up to fiddle with his piercing, both dimples now on full display. “Will you be back in town by then?”
“I’m gonna be here for most of the break, actually,” you confessed.
His eyes lit up. “You serious?”
You nodded, praying he wouldn’t ask you to elaborate.
“So am I!” he beamed. “I’m doing an independent study, so I won’t have the chance to go home.”
It dawned on you for the first time that Chan’s family was, in fact, still living in Australia while he attended university. You hadn’t even considered the possibility that he might not be visiting them over the summer. That same, familiar ache touched your heart again—it must get lonely for him. Here you were, purposely avoiding your hometown at all costs, when he was likely longing for his.
“Oh no,” you frowned. “Not even for a short trip?”
“Nah.” He waved his hand, seemingly unaffected. “But it’s alright. I’ve got you, and my buddy Felix will be here for a while, too.”
Felix. Another name you’d heard thrown around by Chan and Changbin on more than one occasion. He was yet another junior that Chan had managed to befriend somehow, and, just like him, he’d grown up in Australia. It eased your mind a bit, knowing that he and Chan at least had each other when everyone else was home for the holidays.
“But what about you?” He cocked his head. “Any reason you’re staying?”
The dreaded question. This time, you couldn’t depend on the safety of a phone call to keep him from gauging your reaction.
“I just prefer it here, I guess.” You picked at the paper wrapping of your bread, hoping to sound nonchalant. “There’s some stuff I don’t wanna deal with back home. But, knowing my parents, I’ll probably still go for a week or so.”
Suddenly, the look on his face wasn’t quite so bright. It was subtle, just a fleeting crack in his typically bubbly demeanor, but not lost on you. Whether it was the mention of your parents or your vaguely cynical response that had brought about such a strange reaction, you weren’t sure, but you berated yourself for being responsible for dampening his mood, even if it was short-lived.
“I get that,” he said softly. “Let’s have a good time here together, yeah?”
Chan didn’t speak any further on the topic, but somehow, you couldn’t shake the feeling that he resonated with what you’d said more than he was letting on.

Three days into your visit back home, you came to fully accept the fact that you were in way over your head.
From the moment you’d stepped off the train, hit with that warm, familiar air, tinged with the scent of pine, you could already feel it picking away at you. The trip from the station to your house, which you’d stubbornly chosen to make by foot, was full of bittersweet sights, sounds, and smells that had shaped you growing up, with each one tugging your seams loose just a little bit more. It felt akin to whiplash, a harsh dive into the deep end of reality after the past month you’d spent with Chan, stuck in a giddy haze.
Thanks to him, the harsh sting of summer had become more of a dull ache, not quite fading altogether, but soothed into something more manageable, at least. With Iseul, Changbin, and all your other friends returning home for vacation, you’d breezed through the entirety of June almost exclusively in Chan’s company. More often than not, Felix would join in as well, making for an unexpectedly pleasant dynamic among the three of you. You’d taken a liking to the boy in no time—it was impossible not to, when he had a smile like the sun and an infectious sort of vitality that brought joy to even the simplest of activities. He was a bit more reserved than Chan, at least around you, but he had a similar kind of warmth, the kind that was sure to enamor anyone he crossed paths with.
Between movie nights (more superhero movies than you’d ever thought existed), day trips to the beach (with Chan, thankfully, taking your sanity into account and wearing a tank top at all times), and far too many baking sessions (some successful, most failed), what you’d initially feared to be a month of nothing but heat and misery had turned out to be some of the best weeks of your life.
It was only natural, of course, that the universe would follow them up with a week that was carefully crafted to send all that happiness you’d built toppling unceremoniously to the ground.
The pit of guilt you’d felt in your stomach about avoiding home for so long increased tenfold with every comment from your parents and relatives, joking about how you were too busy, too good for your family to waste time on them anymore. You almost wanted to be upset, because you knew they knew. But you also knew that they meant well. In their minds, they were doing you a favor by not addressing it, not daring to so much as utter your friend’s name around you. It was much easier to pretend like everything was okay. That was what you’d been doing for the past year, after all.
Still, no matter how hard you wished you could ignore it, the pesky, human desire for seeking solace in others persisted. You needed to release, to lift the top off the pressure cooker you’d kept so tightly sealed for so long.
You needed to talk to someone. But the only person in the world who you could’ve opened up to about losing her, was her.
Your thumb lingered over Chan’s contact, now on your fourth minute of debating whether or not you should throw caution to the wind and call him. You wanted to hear his voice rambling on, his absent-minded humming of whichever song was stuck in his head that day, his laughter.
With a deep inhale, you swiped out of your phone app, opening up your messages instead.
you (8:13 a.m.) hey it’s been a minute! how are u?
A response, almost immediately.

You frowned, trying to process the unfortunate string of messages unfolding on your screen. You didn’t think it was possible for anyone to be having a worse time than you right now. It brought you back to your senses, reminded you of your place. Self-pity never suited you, anyway. Your sympathy was much better off reserved for others.
you (8:15 a.m.) oh my god? do you want to talk?

With the way Iseul was typing a mile a minute, you were certain you’d be in for an earful when you talked to her later. Strangely enough, it lifted a bit of weight off your shoulders. Maybe you could focus on reviewing her essay and offering her advice on the many, many issues she seemed to be facing as a way to take your mind off the growing itch in your skin.
That was all you had to do, really. Make yourself useful, keep yourself preoccupied with something at all times until you could return to campus and restart the process of tucking away every memory associated with the previous summer from scratch.
It was just a matter of holding yourself together. Just one more week.

In the back of your mind, you couldn’t help but think that a day like this one shouldn’t be quite so sunny.
The sky was bright and spotless, an endless expanse of soft blue without so much as a single cloud daring to interfere. Some might say it was a good omen, a sign that you were being watched over with a smile, but to you, it almost felt like a taunt.
Still, the nice weather at least meant that your walk to the cemetery wouldn’t be met with any unexpected rain. Your mother had offered—or demanded, rather—to drive you if you weren’t going to drive yourself, so as not to keep your friends waiting; but much to her exasperation, you’d refused. You had an important stop to make along the way, anyway, one that both fueled your apprehension, and eased it.
It had officially been a year now. A year since you’d lost your best friend, a year since you’d ended your relationship, a year since your sense of self had become muddled. Nothing in the city felt like home, anymore. It had belonged to the both of you, and with her gone, there was nothing left for you.
A sudden call of your name nearly made you jump out of your skin. You looked up from the concrete, shocked to find that you’d zoned out long enough to have reached your destination without even processing it. Your eyes raked over the worn-down stand, once a pure, striking white, now chipped and rusted with age. Still, it brought a smile to your face, the first real one since you’d arrived home.
“Is that really you, kid?”
Steeling yourself, you lifted your head fully to face the man before you. He looked the same as ever, albeit with a bit less hair on his head, but his kind eyes and jovial smile hadn’t changed one bit, they never did.
“Hello, Uncle Geun,” you greeted. “How have you been?”
Gruff, booming laughter met your ears, and you were pulled into a bone-crushing hug before you knew it. The smell of his colorful apron, musky from the heat, but not unpleasant, sent a wave of sentimentality crashing over you. It took everything in you not to tear up the moment it touched your senses.
He was a man that had watched you grow up, in the truest sense of the words. Over a decade ago, on this very street, you’d rounded the corner with a bit too much energy on your way to school, slamming into another little girl and sending you both toppling onto the unforgiving sidewalk. You’d managed to come out of it with just a skidded palm, but she, on the other hand, was bawling the instant she’d recovered from the initial impact.
Even as a child, you’d gotten the feeling that she was being a bit too dramatic about it all, sobbing about how her knees hurt and how her new jumper was ruined. Regardless, your stomach twisted with guilt, and when you saw that your apologies weren’t getting through to her, you’d done the first thing your little mind could think of, scurrying over to the nearby flower vendor and asking if he could spare you a gift for her. His smile had been just as grand back then as it was now, his laughter just as boisterous as he picked a chrysanthemum from his stock and handed it to you.
The second you’d shoved the round, yellow flower in her face, her crying came to an immediate halt, tears drying up and sniffles dying down, as if on cue. She accepted it with a smile as bright as the flower itself, pulling off a few petals for you when she noticed the scrapes on your hand.
You’d continued the walk to school side by side, and by the end of the day, the two of you had come to a mutual agreement that you were now, officially, best friends.
You blinked rapidly, hoping your expression wouldn't betray you when Uncle Geun finally pulled away from the hug.
“It’s good to see you,” he beamed. “Aren’t you a sight for sore eyes?”
“That’s all you, Uncle. Even the flowers are jealous.”
Another raspy burst of laughter. “Clever as always.”
“Maybe that college education is worth something,” you joked.
His grin grew impossibly wider, silver tooth gleaming in the sunlight. “We’ve all missed you,” he said. “Doesn’t really feel like the summertime without the sight of you walking around the city with—”
He cut himself off at just the right instant. You felt a light pang in your chest, but you forced yourself to keep smiling.
“Well,” he cleared his throat. “You girls were always a joy.”
“We had a lot of great memories because of you,” you replied quietly.
An uncharacteristically somber look crossed his face, and your eyes fell back to the ground.
“So, what’ll it be, today?” he began, trying to put the pep back in his voice. “Don’t tell me you’re just here to give the old man a visit.”
“Chrysanthemums, please,” you requested. “They’re for her.”
You unzipped your bag, reaching in to pull out your wallet. Before you could even prepare your payment, however, his calloused hand rested over yours, shooing it away.
“This one’s on the house.”
。⋆。˚ ʚïɞ ˚。⋆。⋆。˚ ʚïɞ ˚。⋆。⋆。˚ ʚïɞ ˚。⋆。
You never made it to the cemetery.
However necessary it had felt for you to visit the flower stand and see Uncle Geun, the toll it took on your state of mind was far heavier than you’d ever anticipated—and you’d anticipated. Your conversation with him had left you disoriented, a strange ache pulsing through your body. Whether grief or nostalgia was at its core, you weren’t sure.
With blurry vision, you’d texted your friends that you wouldn’t be able to make it and returned home, clutching the bouquet of flowers close to your chest. In a matter of twenty minutes, you gathered up all your belongings, tossed them into your hardly unpacked suitcase, and arranged to take the first train back home. Your new home, the one that felt right for all the wrong reasons.
Despite your parents’ adamant protests, you stood by your decision to leave. You promised to make it up to them with another visit, and after almost an hour of arguing, the hollowness of your voice finally seemed to get through to them. Disapproving but ultimately understanding, they’d quietly allowed you to go.
The train ride was a blur. You didn’t remember much of it, and only when you approached the front door of your apartment at last did you feel the fog in your head begin to clear just a bit. As you dug around for your keys, you realized for the first time how stiff your hand had become. You’d kept it wrapped tightly around the chrysanthemums for the entire trip home, not loosening your death grip even once.
The heavy sigh of relief you let out as you stepped into your apartment was cut short when you registered an unexpected figure standing near the window. Even in all your shock, you didn’t have the energy to call out louder than your usual volume.
“Chan?”
His reaction was priceless, yelping in fear and spinning around at a breakneck speed. You were lucky that he at least managed to avoid dropping the watering can in his hand and send it crashing to the floor.
“Y-you’re here!?”
The fact that it sounded like a genuine question when you were standing right in front of him shouldn’t have endeared you so much. You placed down your bags, praying that your exhaustion wasn’t as obvious as it felt.
“Surprise,” you nearly cringed at how weak it came out.
In all your turmoil, you’d completely forgotten that Chan had offered to water your plants for you while you were gone. Though, to be fair, even if you had remembered, you wouldn’t have expected to stumble in on him doing so at near midnight.
“Welcome back!” His face broke out into a radiant smile. It felt more like home than anything you’d experienced the past week. “Are those new flowers for me to water?”
Despite everything, you smiled back at him, placing the bouquet on your countertop and padding over to him. He opened his arms in an instant, and you fell into them, squeezing him tighter than was probably necessary and earning a cute, tiny grunt.
“Thank you, Channie,” you simply said. His warmth enveloped you and his scent wafted over you, freshly-washed laundry and the fading, sweet citrus of his cologne. “It’s good to see you.”
“I missed you,” he sucked in hesitantly through his teeth before continuing. “But, is everything alright? I thought you still had another few days.”
“Yeah. Just a little change of plans,” hoping to lighten the mood, you added, “Guess I can’t be kept away from you for too long.”
You knew he wouldn’t buy the excuse, but he giggled anyway, shoulders vibrating against you as the melodic sound graced your ears. A part of you had initially been horrified by the prospect of Chan catching you like this, but now, all you felt was an overwhelming sense of calm.
Reluctantly, you pulled back to face him. His eyes were drowsy—nothing new there—but there was a healthy complexion to his skin. He looked just a bit tanner than the last time you’d seen him; he must’ve spent a lot of his free time at the beach.
“Well, I’m glad you’re here,” he didn’t let go of you, even after the hug had ended. “Felix will be, too. Pretty sure he secretly thinks you’re a better baking assistant than me.”
You let out a hum of amusement. “Can’t say I blame him when you steal all the chocolate chips.”
He puckered his lips into a pout. Not truly upset, but enough for you to lean in and press an apologetic kiss to them. You would’ve taken any opportunity to do so, anyway.
His breath caught in his throat—you’d quickly learned that it was inevitable, no matter how many times you kissed him—but he returned it instantly, melting into you like he’d been itching to do from the second you’d arrived. It was something you hadn’t fully adjusted to yet, how impossibly soft his lips were. They demanded all of your attention in their fullness, moving against yours with a timid sort of vigor.
You hadn’t expected it to be more than just a light peck, but once you’d gotten a taste of him, of his warmth, you couldn’t help yourself. It was his fault, you decided, for diving into you with such unabashed eagerness. Your teeth grazed delicately along his lower lip, and he opened his mouth to let out a sweet, airy sigh.
The feeling that you’d so narrowly escaped on the night you’d first kissed him took hold of you yet again, so strong in its grip that you worried you may not be able to ignore it this time. Your hands roamed down to his abdomen, brushing over it just enough to feel the outline of his muscles beneath his clothes. You remembered the sight of him in the natatorium that day—toned stomach and soft hips, smooth, irresistible skin that looked like it hadn’t been marked a day in his life. You wanted all of it, all of him.
Chan angled his head to further deepen the kiss, nose bumping against yours in the process. You felt his lips curve into a shy smile, and another sound escaped him, almost like a squeak.
You weren’t sure how much time had passed when you finally found it in you to break the kiss. When his eyes blinked open, he looked adorably lost, gaze falling right back down to your lips as if to ask why you’d stopped. He swayed just barely under your hands, and you strengthened your hold on his waist to steady him.
“You look like you’re about to fall over, Channie,” you teased.
“Sorry,” he chuckled breathlessly. “My heart’s kinda racing.”
It was such a sincere admission, so simple and honest. Even if you couldn’t already tell what he was thinking on your own, he wore his heart on his sleeve. Or rather, he held it out in his hands, offering it up to you.
You let go of his waist to lock your fingers with his. You’d grown used to the heat by now, but everything else you were feeling in that moment made it burn just as much as the first time you’d touched him. With just a light tug at his arm, he was following you to your bedroom, clutching your hand a little tighter.
“Is this better?” you asked, settling down on the bed with him.
He ducked his head, too flustered to respond. Playfully, you lifted two fingers and placed them on his neck, as if to check his pulse. You pressed down into his skin, and he nearly gasped. If it hadn’t been racing before, it certainly was now.
“I-it’s been a while,” he meekly tried to explain.
Given how his body reacted to your every little touch, you had no trouble believing it. You couldn’t deny how much it excited you, too. He was such a sweet boy; you felt a need, a hunger, to see the most intimate parts of him, to see what pleasure and vulnerability and desperation might look like on such an angelic face. You wanted to make him a part of you, to engulf him and protect him, to take on his emotions and forget about yours.
Driven by a newfound urgency, you all but crashed back into him. He met your fire with equal enthusiasm, parting his lips to let your tongue slide against his—hot and wet in a way that made the both of you shiver. Your hands began roaming again, feeling up the broad expanse of his shoulders, his chest, his arms. You palmed and squeezed at them to your heart’s content, as if to make sure the moment was real, to make sure he was real. It was still hard to fathom, that the man you’d been dreaming about for almost three months now was here in your bed.
You trailed further down in your touch, fingers sliding under his loose shirt and palms flattening against his skin. Suddenly, Chan tensed, retreating from the kiss just enough to speak, but still close enough that his lips brushed against yours with every word.
“W-wait,” he stuttered out. “I don’t…I didn’t…”
You paused, fearing for a moment that you’d misread the situation. He had said it’d been a while, after all. Maybe he wasn’t ready. Maybe he wasn’t used to moving this fast; you certainly weren’t.
“Is something wrong?”
“I don’t have protection,” he warned quietly. “I-I didn’t think…”
Despite every cell in your body crying out in protest, you pulled back to get a proper look at him. His eyes were dark, pupils blown wide and putting his longing on full display for you to see.
He seemed to be struggling with getting his sentence out, so you guessed for him. “You didn’t think this would happen?”
He averted his eyes. “Just…didn’t wanna assume anything.”
Cute, cute, cute. He was so painfully cute.
“I’m protected,” you reassured him. “You don’t have to worry.”
Even if he had brought contraceptives, against your better judgment, you weren’t quite sure if you’d be content with using them. You wanted all of him, skin on skin, every inch. Nothing else would satisfy the burn, the ache that had been burgeoning inside you since the day you’d first met him.
“You don’t have to worry about a thing,” you pressed your forehead against his. “Let me take care of you, Channie.”
The sound he made in response, low and needy in his throat, set something off in you. Miraculously, you managed to prevent yourself from digging your nails into his stomach, just to relieve some of the tension that was consuming your body at an alarming rate.
Instead, you took his chin between your fingers, tilting it up. “Is that okay with you?”
Chan swallowed, so hard that you could see his adam’s apple bob in his throat. “Yeah,” he breathed. “I c-can pull out. Just tell me when, please, and I’ll listen.”
He said it so earnestly that you pressed your thighs together. You had no plans to tell him, and you got the feeling he understood that from the look in your eyes alone.
“You’re good at listening, aren’t you?” you cooed.
He nodded, eyes squeezing shut when your hand came to cradle his head. “I’ll be good for you,” he mustered up the courage to say it, grateful for the lack of eye contact. “Whatever you want, I’ll do it.”
Good for you. The words made your heart sing. He was already so good for you just existing. He was perfect for you.
“Whatever I want?” you brushed your thumb up and down his cheek. “Everything I want is already right in front of me.”
A blush crept up on his face, dusting it that unmistakable rosy shade that was so Chan. You felt his skin heating up as he nuzzled into your palm with a flustered laugh, and you took the opportunity to gently guide him down, resting his back against the bed. With bated breath, he watched you come to hover above him, his hands bunching nervously at the bedsheets. You slipped your fingers back under his shirt and began tugging it up his torso. He stiffened, but still raised himself slightly off the mattress to allow you to pull off the garment.
The moment your eyes landed on his bare upper body, he was looking away again, chest rising and falling rapidly in anticipation. You rested a hand over his left pec, feeling up the defined muscle and his heartbeat along with it.
“Beautiful,” you murmured.
Chan stammered out something that sounded vaguely like a protest, but he didn’t have the chance to finish before you were leaning down and pressing a kiss to his neck. His response was immediate, tilting his head and baring his skin to you. Your mouth traveled along his jawline and down the column of his throat, sucking and nibbling at every spot you touched. By the time you reached his collarbones, he was already squirming in barely-concealed want beneath you, and you stole a glance at him to find him biting down hard on his lip in restraint.
“You’re so beautiful, Channie,” you dragged your teeth along the curve of his chest, and his hips shot up into you. “I can’t believe I get to see you like this.”
“Please,” he buried his face in his hands. It was adorable, but not as adorable as the sight of embarrassment and pleasure twisting his features. So, you rested your hands over his and pulled them away, pinning his muscular arms above his head and rendering them powerless.
“You said you’d do whatever I want, right?” you began. “So, no hiding.”
His eyes glazed over with lust, so taken by how exposed he felt below you that he almost forgot to nod.
“And,” you continued, lowering yourself to speak right into his ear. “No holding back, okay? I know you have a pretty voice, let me hear it.”
“I…” for a second, he appeared at a loss for words. “O-okay.”
“Good boy,” you let go of his hands, dragging your fingers lightly down his biceps and watching him shudder. You readjusted your position to resume your earlier ministrations, kissing down the valley of his chest and fighting the temptation to sink your teeth into it—hard. You wanted nothing more than to leave his skin red and bruised and blossoming with love bites, but you knew you probably shouldn’t when any marks you made would be clear as day to his teammates during swim practice. Instead, you settled for pressing wet, open-mouthed kisses along his body, grazing his skin with your teeth just enough to appease yourself without leaving a lasting trace. The softness of your lips pressed against the lean ridges of his abs, making for a contrast that neither of you could get enough of.
“Such a pretty baby,” you mumbled, licking a stripe down his stomach and feeling his muscles contract under your tongue. “My pretty baby boy.”
It slipped out like an instinct, and before you could stop to wonder if it may be too much for Chan, a long, shaky moan met your ears.
Oh. He was loud.
Suddenly, his frantic attempts to suppress himself made perfect sense. You had a feeling that he hadn’t let completely loose yet, either. Heat pooled in your stomach at the thought of what kind of noises you could draw out of him. You couldn’t wait much longer.
“Do you like that? Baby boy?” you asked sweetly. Chan raised his hips off the mattress as your fingers danced delicately along his sides, soothing and exciting him all at once.
“M-mhm.” It was all he could get out without making another mortifying sound.
“Tell me what you like,” you swirled your tongue around his belly button, slowly approaching his v-line. “Tell me what feels good.”
“All of it,” he gasped. “All of you.”
You smiled against his skin, and your lips found the waistband of his shorts, allowing you to see for the first time just how much he meant it. You’d been so focused on attending to his upper half that you hadn’t even thought about the state of him down there. He was hard, fully hard. You wouldn’t be surprised if he was leaking in his underwear by now. It almost made you feel a tinge of guilt, leaving him neglected for so long; but his building desire was palpable, and it fed into your arousal like nothing else.
Mischievously, you gave his bulge a kittenish lick. Chan all but jolted, hand flying over his mouth a moment too late to mask his hiccup.
“I’m gonna make you feel so good, angel,” you promised, fingers dipping under the elastic of his waistband. “So good, you won’t be able to think about anything else.”
“Oh, God,” he whimpered. “Need you.”
“I’m right here, Channie,” you pulled his shorts down in one go, removing his underwear along with them. He hissed through his teeth as the air hit his exposed length, cooling the drops of precum that had dribbled from his tip. Carefully, you took him into your hand, licking your lips when you felt him throb at the contact.
“Poor thing,” you feigned sympathy. “You’re so worked up.”
You knew it took everything in Chan not to bury his face in the sheets. Instead, he bucked up into your grasp as a wordless plea, struggling to gain some kind of friction. His body was just as honest as he was with his words. Every subtle shift in his expression, every sensitive twitch of his body, every poorly concealed sound—they made it so easy to understand what he was feeling. He made himself so easy for you to take apart.
Gently, you gestured for him to sit up. It took him a moment to process the command, and you couldn’t help but think he looked akin to a lost puppy, blinking his foggy eyes in confusion before clumsily willing himself upright. You ushered him back until he was resting against the headboard, slipping off your own shorts and underwear and settling into his lap in one fell swoop.
“You’re not the only one, though,” you drawled, taking his cock back into your hand. You pressed his tip just barely against your heat, allowing your wetness to mix with his precum. “Do you feel it?”
A desperate groan rumbled in his chest, going straight to your core. “Y-yes. Please, let me feel you. Wanna make you feel good, too.”
You hummed playfully, circling the head of his dick around your entrance and gathering up more of your essence. His thighs jerked up against yours, a weak apology immediately following it. Just to tease him further, you stopped what you were doing and turned your attention to your own shirt, taking your sweet time in slipping it off your torso and discarding it.
The ache between your legs was almost unbearable at this point, but the way Chan’s breathing picked up when he realized what you were doing made it all worth it. You unclasped your bra from behind, letting it slip off your shoulders and exposing your bare body to him.
His stare dropped, locking on the sight of your chest with a shaky inhale. A mere few inches separated you, but he gazed at you like you were untouchable, like he could only admire you from afar. It made you giggle—even now, he was still so shy.
“Are you ready, Channie?”
He looked back up at you with a nod, and you almost wished he hadn’t, because the pure adoration swimming in his eyes effectively sent the last of your self-control crumbling.
You lined him up with your entrance and sank down on his cock all at once. The gasp you let out was only rivaled by the sound of his own cry, loud and shameless, like he himself didn’t even realize it was coming from him.
Heat rippled throughout your entire body, stronger than you’d ever felt it before. It held the exhilaration of something new, yet the intimacy of something familiar, and it set every one of your nerve endings ablaze. You clenched around Chan the moment you connected with his base, taking in his size and shape, wrapping yourself around him; all of him, just like you’d wanted.
He surged forward with another strained noise, head falling into your chest and nestling into its softness. You rested a hand on the back of his head, tangling your fingers in his curls and placing your other hand on his shoulder.
“Mine,” you whispered.
Vaguely, you heard it, timid and breathless, mumbled into your skin. “Yours. ‘M yours.”
There was no way to hide how the words affected you, not when your walls tightened around his cock in a way that made him tremble. It almost made you wonder if he knew about the burn, about the inexplicable need to make him a part of you—or, rather, to take him back as a missing part of you. Did he feel it too?
You took a few moments to calm yourself and adjust to the feeling of him buried inside you. It felt right, like he was made for you. Like you were made for each other.
Every twitch of his length tested your patience more and more, and you knew that he himself must be hanging on by a thread by now. His hands hovered awkwardly above your hips, fingers flexing as he tried to decide what to do with them.
“You wanna touch, Channie?” you urged. “Go ahead.”
He peeked up at you from where his face was burrowed, as if to ask for the permission you’d already granted. You gave him an encouraging smile, and he took hold of your waist at last, squeezing tentatively.
“Th-thank you,” he stuttered.
He was thanking you. You didn’t think you could conjure up a more endearing, a more devastating detail if you tried. It made your heart melt and your arousal skyrocket. You needed to ruin him.
“You’re so cute,” you purred. “Hold on tight, okay?”
He pressed the pads of his fingers a bit deeper into your flesh. Using your grip on his shoulders for leverage, you lifted yourself off his cock bit by bit, relishing in the feeling of it dragging slowly along your walls. Without missing a beat, you snapped your hips back down, both to elicit a response in Chan, and to satisfy the immediate need to be full of him again. You succeeded in both, engulfing every inch of him even tighter than before, as if your body didn’t want to let him go a second time.
“A-ah, fuck!”
It sounded so strange coming from him, sweet voice cracking with a whimper, but so, so delicious.
“Is it good, Channie?”
You repeated the action, gliding up and down with ease thanks to the arousal that was all but dripping down your thighs at this point. Each bounce coated his length with slickness, creating messy, wet sounds that were sure to make his ears burn.
“Feels like I’m on fire,” he threw his head back, mouth falling open to give you a breathtaking view. “So—ah—good. You feel so good, so warm.”
You puffed out a giggle, unable to get a word in amidst his babbling. Instead, you picked up your pace, fueled on by his reactions as the pleasure steadily overwhelmed him.
“So beautiful, I—” he gasped. “Need you.”
Your heart swelled with affection; he was already so far gone. “I’ve got you,” you ran your fingers through his hair and he practically keened. “You’re doing so well for me, Channie. You’re perfect for me.”
Half-lidded eyes blinked up at you, and he subconsciously tugged at your hips, trying to pull you closer.
“I’ll be good,” he repeated his earlier vow. “You can even be m-mean to me, I’ll be good.”
The words caught you by surprise. Still, you kept your expression calm, something to ease his mind amidst the slew of sensations clouding it. You slowed down to trace your thumb along his cheek, so delicately that if he didn’t focus hard enough, your touch would be lost on him.
“Do you want me to?”
Remembering how he’d reacted earlier, you let your hands slide down to his neck, resting them there experimentally without pressing down just yet. Chan let out a whine, the vibrations of it making your palms tingle.
“There, please,” he tilted his head even further back, bumping it against the headboard. “Wanna feel you everywhere.”
Your stomach flipped, adrenaline coursing through your veins as you wrapped your fingers completely around his throat. It was thick, pumping with life. You had to use both hands. Chan bit his lower lip in anticipation, another low whine spilling out of him.
Taking great care in your movements, you began riding him again, lifting yourself on his cock, then sliding back down just as you squeezed at the sides of his throat. You didn’t want to hurt him—not really. You just wanted to toy with him a bit, watch him squirm under your fingertips. You wanted to push him to his limit, then guide him safely right back to you.
“Let me know if it’s too much, okay?”
“Y-yes,” he managed. “I will. Promise.”
The response was so immediate, so desperate, like he was afraid you might change your mind and stop. He throbbed inside you when you applied more force to your grip, almost sounding relieved in the airy moan that escaped him. You watched, fascinated, as his face flushed a shade deeper, whether from arousal or shortness of breath, you weren’t quite sure.
To better control your grip on his neck, you halted your bouncing to switch to a slower, deliberate grinding of your hips instead. Chan jerked up beneath you, the newfound rhythm pressing your walls against his cock and making him dizzy.
You contracted your fingers around his throat repeatedly, adding and removing the slightest bit of pressure to match the rocking of your hips. His tip brushed against your sweet spot, and you let out a soft moan that only seemed to bring him closer to his breaking point.
“Oh, God,” he groaned. “W-wait…slow down, please. ‘M getting close.”
“Slow down?” you tilted your head. “Why? Don’t you wanna cum, baby boy?”
He squeezed his eyes shut, and you loosened your hold on his neck so he could speak properly.
“Wanna finish with you,” he slurred. “Wanna make you feel good, too.”
You should’ve expected it. Of course he would have such an earnest, such an adorable reason to ask something of you—it was Chan. Even at the height of his pleasure, he was still thinking of yours, making sure you were enjoying yourself as much as he was. It spread an unbelievable warmth in your chest, different from the intense, sultry heat brewing between your bodies.
It also made you want to mess with him.
“Don’t worry, Channie,” you dragged your nails along his neck, not enough to draw blood, but enough to scratch, to make him shudder beneath you. “I feel good just watching you fall apart like this.”
His hands stayed latched to your hips, following them with every tortuous rock, but making no attempt to try and stop your movements. Despite that, his pleas didn’t let up, demanding in the sweetest, most polite of ways.
“Please,” his voice grew more frantic. “I’m really not gonna last, please, please.”
His whines chipped away at your resolve more than you let show; each one buzzing his vocal chords beneath your hands. He sounded so helpless, like he might burst into tears if he didn’t bring you to a climax with him.
“You sound so cute when you beg,” you marveled, sinking the pads of your fingers into his skin to feel his hammering heartbeat. “Maybe if you keep it up, I’ll change my mind.”
Much to Chan’s dismay, you continued your grinding, and you could see the concentration written all over his face as he fought to hold himself together. His hair had grown damp with sweat, face flushed and glistening from all his efforts. He looked so wrecked already; you could only imagine what it’d be like to see him cum.
You leaned in and kissed him. His lips were puffy and glossy and right there. It earned a cute mewl of surprise from the man, and it turned up in pitch when you took his lower lip between your teeth and nibbled. He let go of your hips to wrap his arms fully around your waist, trapping you as close as your bodies would allow.
“So—mmph—close.” His tongue slid against yours, jumbling his speech even further. “Please, please, please!”
You tugged at his plush lips one last time before breaking the kiss. “Gonna cum, angel?” You clenched around him, encouraging him to let go. “Don’t hold back. Empty inside me like a good boy.”
“Oh my God.” Chan’s whole body tensed beneath you, head dropping right back into your chest with a choked sob. You felt his cock pulse wildly inside you, and soon after, the flood of his release. Coupled with the moan that spilled out of him, drawn-out and broken and still so loud despite being muffled by your flesh, you were almost sent over the edge yourself.
“That’s it, Channie,” you played with his hair as his climax rippled through him. “Look at you, filling me up so well. Good boy, good boy.”
It was almost devious, the way you stopped moving like he’d so hopelessly been begging for, only once he’d come down from his high. He slumped against you, his pants gradually dying down into cute, content sighs. When he finally found a strong enough grip on his consciousness to speak, it came whiny, sulky.
“Not fair,” he mumbled into you. “Wanted to finish together.”
He lifted his head, and you broke out into gentle giggles. The expression on his face would’ve been one of pure bliss if it weren’t for his very prominent, very effective pout.
“Can I count this as my second win?” You tapped his nose.
He huffed, but the beginnings of a smile tugged at his features, betraying him. “Please, let me do something for you.” He glanced down at the spot you were connected, wetting his lips. It made your core clench in a way that you knew he couldn’t miss. “Let me make you feel good.”
“I do feel good, Channie,” you insisted, and you meant it. “Better than ever, actually.”
Though the guilt didn’t fade from his pleading stare and furrowed brows, he at least seemed to believe you. He studied your face for a split second longer before leaning in, nudging his nose against yours to ask for another kiss.
You could’ve easily stayed that way for the rest of the night, savoring his warmth, the fullness, the wholeness that you felt when nestled into each other in every possible way. But judging by how sensitive Chan was, you knew there was a very real chance of him getting hard again, and regardless of how much you wanted it, neither of you had the energy to go again. Reluctantly, you hoisted yourself off of his length, sharing a flustered exhale with him when some of his seed trickled out of you and dripped on to his thigh.
Ten minutes later, the two of you were laid side by side in your bed, staring at the ceiling with your hands brushing delicately against each other.
“This…” Chan spoke up suddenly, breaking the comfortable silence. “This isn’t a usual thing for me.”
You couldn’t deny the relief you felt upon hearing it. The answer to a question that had been floating in the back of your mind without you even realizing. It was selfish—meaningless, too—but you felt it all the same.
You were well past the point of pretending like your relationship with Chan was something ordinary, anyway. Whatever existed between you, it was magnetic and burning and inevitable, almost like you had no choice in the matter. In fact, that had to be the case, because if you’d had a choice, you certainly wouldn’t have let yourself fall into him so hard, or so fast.
“Me neither,” you admitted.
You heard the sheets rustle next to you. “Really?”
“Really.”
There was the faintest smile in his voice as he continued, and it made you wonder if he was indulging in the same, selfish satisfaction as you. It wouldn’t be a surprise, considering the way he seemed to mirror even the most intimate parts of you— parts that you barely even knew of until you saw them reflected in him.
“Yeah,” he breathed. “I…I’m never so…quick?” You could tell he was trying to choose his words carefully, but there was only so much he could do when his emotions were still running high and his head was still in a haze. “It can take months, e-even longer sometimes, for me to—”
“I don't think you’re easy, Channie,” you teased. “If that’s what you’re worried about.”
You turned your head, just in time to see that rosy tint spread across his cheeks, still visible even in the dim light. It was a sight you might get addicted to.
“I just want you to know that this means something to me,” he said softly.
Something gripped you, dropped a pebble in the calm surface of your lake. You didn’t have much time to think about it though, to worry about finding a window to break out of before you were past the point of no return. For tonight, you let yourself lean fully into that persistent flame.
“It means something to me too,” you murmured. “I wouldn’t have done this with anyone but you.”
Chan let out a shy hum, going quiet for a bit before stroking your pinky finger with his.
“So,” he began. “Are you ready to tell me what happened?”
You tensed slightly in your spot. You’d hoped he would’ve forgotten about it by now, or, at least, been too busy basking in the afterglow to bring it up again so soon. The endorphins that had been flooding through your system ebbed just a bit. This moment was too precious to sully by thinking about it—about him.
Suddenly, it felt all too reminiscent of what had transpired exactly one year ago; the first and last time you’d ever tried talking to anyone about the loss of your friend. It had been with someone you’d thought you loved, someone you’d thought loved you. And maybe, he really had believed that he loved you, too. You’d never know, now.
Imbalanced didn’t even begin to describe it. Imbalance was the balance of your relationship; you’d provide everything, and he’d take it all. The roles had come so naturally to the both of you that you’d never once questioned them, or where they might lead you.
He needed comfort, you liked comforting him. He needed support, you liked supporting him. He needed someone to depend on, you liked being depended on. Equal exchange, the perfect dynamic on paper, and—for the most part—it had worked. You didn’t really have the chance to notice how thin you were stretching yourself, because he was happy, and that made you happy.
One simple question was enough to shake that foundation, however, enough to expose how fragile it all really was and send it toppling to the ground in the ugliest of ways. A question that, in all its simplicity, hadn’t crossed your mind until you were all but forced to confront it last summer.
If your relationship was built solely on your ability to accommodate him, what happened when you couldn’t accommodate him anymore?
You were always encouraged with the most deceptively sweet words to open up to him, to share your thoughts and feelings and troubles the same way he did with you. But every single time without fail, his reaction made you want to seal your mouth shut, never to have the audacity to utter a single word about yourself again.
“I regret asking” or, “Well, now I’m just depressed” or, “Let’s talk about something else” or, sometimes, even nothing at all. You soon came to find that the role you had taken on wasn’t just to his benefit, it was to your detriment. You were a mere footnote in his happiness, and nothing could ever break that mold.
“My best friend died.”
“Oh,” he’d said. “Are you serious?”
“Yeah.”
“That’s horrible.”
You’d nodded, sensing instantly that you would’ve felt better if you’d kept quiet.
“I don’t really know what to say.”
You shut your eyes, unsure of what you’d expected from him in the first place. It was pathetic, anyway, to hope for words of comfort that you knew would be hollow. Nothing could’ve made it okay, especially not anything he could offer you.
“That’s okay,” you replied. “You don’t have to say anything.”
A deep breath, and then, a glimpse of weakness.
“Just…stay with me, please.”
The request had sounded so unnatural coming out of your mouth, like it was a phrase you were learning to say in a foreign tongue for the first time. You winced at yourself, but it was already too late to take back.
“Oh, yeah. Sure.”
The two of you had sat in silence for some time. It could’ve been seconds or hours, and you wouldn’t have known the difference. His hand rested on your back for part of it, running up and down in a motion that you used to calm him down when he was upset. Eventually, though, he seemed to have decided it was a lost cause and awkwardly removed it.
You still weren’t quite sure how you’d managed to hold back your tears that day. But your sniffling and sobbing being the only sound echoing throughout the deathly silent room had been the last thing you’d wanted; you already felt vulnerable enough just letting him see you like that. You didn’t want to break in front of him, and you were certain he didn’t want you to either. A crack in you meant the absolute shattering of him.
After shifting around uncomfortably in his spot for a few moments, he finally spoke up.
“Maybe this isn’t the best time, but does that mean tomorrow’s off?”
It took several seconds for you to process the question. You wondered, briefly, if you’d imagined it at first, or if he really was just that horribly out of touch with reality—with you as a human being.
You wanted to glare at him, to ask him why that would even be something to consider right now, let alone ask about, but miraculously, you’d restrained yourself.
“Yeah. I might need a few days.”
More silence, and then you felt his weight lift from the cushions next to you. He avoided eye contact as you raised your head to look at him.
“I should probably go.”
A pang in your chest. “Why?”
Please don’t. You’d desperately wanted to add.
“I feel bad. Like, I shouldn't be here,” he mumbled. “Just…let me know when you’re feeling better, alright? Love you.”
And then he left.
A few days later, he’d texted you like he always did. No question of how you were, no condolences, and most definitely no apology. He’d said he missed you—which, you’d come to learn long ago, was never just an honest expression of attachment when it came to him. It was a signal, a sort of code to let you know there was something he needed from you. He didn’t just miss you, he missed what you could do for him.
Another week passed, and you’d broken up with him. It was unusually cold of you, doing something so drastic through text, but you couldn’t find it in you to even leave your apartment, let alone face the maelstrom of emotions that were sure to unleash if you’d met him in person. You’d experienced it once before, the first time you’d tried to end things. Crying, begging, apologizing, all so profuse yet so hollow.
The second time, his guilting and false assurances hadn’t worked, or rather, they might have if it weren’t for the distance between you. If you’d tested your conviction in front of his distraught, teary face, swearing that he wouldn’t be able to live without you, you weren’t so sure you could’ve gone through with it. He looked so innocent, so harmless, you’d never guess that he’d be the one to suck the life out of you without a care in the world.
When the usual tactics didn’t work, he’d resorted to anger. In a way, you understood—he was hurt, and no matter how hard you tried to spell it out for him, he simply couldn’t comprehend all the ways he’d hurt you first. He hadn’t done anything, but that was exactly the problem.
As much as you wished you could’ve brushed it off, it had stuck with you. The accusations that you were a liar, a manipulator who promised him boundless love and care only to rip it away with cruel indifference once he’d come to rely on it. Even now, you weren’t entirely sure if he’d been wrong, and that in itself was enough to make you want to lock away your heart and toss out the key for good.
But here, you had Chan. The boy who could be carrying the entire world on his shoulders, and still offer to take some of the weight off of yours. The boy who could be struggling to keep his own head afloat, and still pass you his life preserver without a second thought. The more time you’d spent around him, the more you’d come to witness firsthand just how much he did for everyone, even people he wasn’t particularly close with—from small, thoughtful acts that might go unnoticed, to favors so arduous that they left him physically and mentally drained. All with the sweetest of smiles on his face.
You wanted to be the reason for his smile, not for his weariness.
“I told you,” you said lightly. “I just wanted to see you.”
“C’mon,” Chan giggled. “I know it’s more than that.”
You wondered just how much he knew. You wondered if he knew better than anyone else. Despite the complicated thoughts unfolding within you, you grinned, turning on your side to look at him. “I promise I’ll tell you later, okay?” You held out your pinky for good measure. “Right now, I don’t wanna focus on anything but this.”
Chan curled his finger around yours, the glow in his eyes rivaling the moonlight peeking through your blinds. You must’ve thought about how beautiful he looked a million times throughout the night, but now, faced with his tousled curls and his puffy lips—still reddened from all your kissing and biting—and his gaze that was watching you like you’d put the stars in the sky, it was all you could think about. He made it so easy, you mused, to focus on nothing on him.
You tried to snap yourself out of it. He was sweaty, he was sticky, most importantly, he was exhausted. He must be uncomfortable, laying in all the heat and perspiration that had accumulated in those sheets—thirsty, too. You unhooked your pinky from his and rolled off the bed with a bit too much haste, catching his attention.
His expression changed as he watched you rise to full standing, taking some time to stretch your spent muscles before searching around for your discarded top.
“Oh. Should I get going?”
It came quiet, demure, and it made you whip your head around.
“What?”
Chan paused, uncertain. “I-I mean…do you want me to leave?”
“Of course not,” you said instantly, just short of sharp. You were almost afraid to, but regardless, you asked, “Unless…you want to?”
“No,” his reply came just as fast. “Not at all.”
You had half a mind to ask him why he would even think you’d want him gone, especially given the conversation you’d just had, but you were too distracted by the look of pure bewilderment on his face. You didn’t understand it, nor did you like it.
“I’m just getting a washcloth and some water,” your voice softened, and it seemed to get through to him, at least.
“Oh,” he repeated. “Okay.”
It was followed by a small, bashful nod that eased your concerns just a bit. You padded to your bathroom and shut the door behind you, trying not to keep him waiting for too long as you cleaned yourself up and prepared a towel for him. His eyes followed you curiously when you stepped out and passed him on your way to the kitchen, retrieving two water bottles before finally joining him on your bed once more.
There was a short delay when you offered the water bottle to Chan. He blinked at it, as if it were some kind of unknown object, before thanking you quietly and accepting it from your hands. You told yourself he was probably still just a bit dazed, but it was hard to ignore the tinge of worry that pricked your mind.
As he tilted his head back to drink, your eyes fell down to his neck, admiring the way his throat bobbed with every gulp of water. The skin around it was blooming with noticeable, red marks along the lines you’d dragged your fingernails. It made you cringe slightly at yourself. You must've been more lost in the heat of the moment than you’d thought.
“How do you feel?” you checked once he’d downed half the bottle. “Does it hurt?”
You gestured to his neck, and he raised a hand to brush his fingers over the tender skin. “It doesn’t hurt,” he gave you a reassuring half-smile before adding, “I like it.”
You tried not to let the words affect you, to make you pounce at him and take him all over again. Instead, you took hold of the washcloth you’d prepared and pressed it to his neck. The water you’d soaked it in was warm, but it still felt cool to the touch when pressed against his burning flesh. He sighed contently, eyes drooping as you rubbed the reddened areas, taking great care not to irritate them further.
“Wanna lie down for me, Channie?”
“Ah…” He looked away, already leaning back despite the hesitance in his voice. “I-it’s okay, you really don’t have to.”
“I want to,” you said simply.
Chan seemed to sense the sincerity behind it, as he laid himself out the mattress without any further objections. Sheepish, but willing. Carefully, you began dabbing the towel at his face, wiping away the sweat from his forehead and making his eyes flutter shut. His muscles visibly relaxed as you moved further down his body, rubbing his neck, his shoulders, his chest, his stomach, his hips—you left no inch unaccounted for. The warm water you’d soaked the washcloth in calmed his every nerve-ending, so soothing, it almost distracted from how hyperaware he was of your every touch.
His breath caught in his throat when you brushed over his thigh to clean up the mix of fluids that had begun to dry up on his skin, legs threatening to squeeze shut.
“You’re so sensitive,” you remarked.
He shifted slightly, an awkward chuckle escaping him. “Sorry.”
“It’s cute,” you gave him one last once-over before removing your hand, satisfied. “How are you feeling?”
“Good. Really good.” he blinked up at you lazily, a silent invitation for you to stop fussing over him and settle down next to him in the sheets at last.
You placed the washcloth on your nightstand, collapsing into the plush pillows with a sigh of your own. Chan scooted closer to you within seconds and, chest swelling with fondness, you opened your arms for him to nestle into. Even in all your intimacy, the two of you still couldn’t get enough of each other, filling every curve and gap between your bodies and interlocking your legs. You pressed a kiss to the top of his head before wrapping your arms around him, leaving no room for doubt that you wanted him there.
“Good night, Channie.”
“G’night,” it was barely audible, but even so, you could still hear the faint tremor in his voice. “I…thank you.”
Your eyes flickered down to him one last time before sleep overtook you. For a fleeting moment, you could’ve sworn you saw a wet gleam brimming in the corners of his eyes.

In retrospect, going out to buy groceries on a Sunday afternoon probably wasn’t your smartest move.
After you and Chan had awoken the morning prior—or, just you, you weren’t sure how much sleep he had really gotten—groggy and ravenous only to find an alarming lack of food in your apartment, you wanted to restock as soon as possible. In your defense, you hadn’t been home for over a week, and even before that, you’d been spending a considerable amount of your time out and about with Chan or at his apartment. Still, it was embarrassing enough for you to not want a repeat of the situation, especially given how often you’d make a point to scold him and Changbin for not eating substantial meals.
You’d trudged to the nearest convenience store with a list of basic necessities typed out in the notes of your phone, only to soon discover that you’d be lucky to find anything you were looking for judging by how packed the place was. The state of most shelves was enough to make you think people must be preparing for some kind of apocalypse unbeknownst to you. Frowning, you made your way over to the prepared meals section, hoping to at least find something to get you through the next few days. As you maneuvered past the suffocating amounts of people, the sight of a familiar face across one of the aisles stopped you in your tracks.
A sharp, sculpted nose bridge, eyelashes swooping out like a ski slope, and a slight lean in his posture. Lee Minho. You hadn't expected him to even be back in town yet, let alone to be running the same foolish errand as you at this hour (all for the sake of cola, apparently, if the ridiculously large stash in his basket was any indication).
He seemed to have noticed you just a split second before you did him, fixing you with a stare so sharp that you had to blink a few times to make sure you weren’t imagining it.
You weren’t.
His eyes were dark and unwavering, boring into you with an intensity that made you feel as if you were the only two people in the store—and not in the romantic, heart-fluttering kind of way. It was more like everyone else had scattered the instant they’d sensed the tension, leaving you to fend for yourself under a glare that singled you out with an almost predatory accuracy. You waited for the reveal, the cheeky smirk that always followed, but it never came.
Oh.
Minho didn’t like you.
He really, really didn’t like you.
You felt stupid for not realizing it sooner. At the same time, however, he’d never really given you a reason to, and you liked to think you weren’t dense enough to completely miss it if he had. Suddenly, you found yourself re-evaluating every interaction you’d ever had with the guy, scanning and analyzing your conversations down to the most minute of details to try and recall if that same coldness he was emitting now had ever been present before. You thought back to the last time you’d spoken to him, just a week into summer break before he’d gone home. The two of you had started up a short, innocuous chat about the current anime he was watching, and outside of his very serious claims that it was undoubtedly the best of the season, nothing else about it really stood out to you.
You’d even taken his suggestion and watched it in your free time—one of the many, many distractions implemented in your visit home—and you’d planned on sharing your thoughts with him when you saw each other again. With the look he was giving you now, though, like he hoped you might spontaneously combust if he focused hard enough, you got the feeling he wasn’t exactly interested in hearing what you had to say.
Minho turned his head, preparing to leave the aisle without acknowledging you any further. Despite every one of your instincts telling you not to, you followed him, too consumed by curiosity to ignore whatever kind of message he’d been trying to send with just his eyes. You needed to test things out, to be absolutely sure. You needed to know what had changed since the last time you’d spoken to him.
Well, realistically, you knew what had changed. One very major, very undeniable thing had changed. But that couldn’t be it—could it?
“Hey, Minho!”
He might not have bothered stopping if it weren’t for an older woman passing in front of him with an overloaded cart. You squeezed past the rows of people as quickly and respectfully as you could, managing to catch up with him just in time.
It was a bit harder, you noted right away, to mitigate the effects of his stone-faced expression up close. He gave you a terse nod.
“Hey.”
“You’re back in town?”
His face changed just barely, trading out stoicism for something a bit more amused. “Very observant.”
You forced out a light laugh for the sake of extending the conversation, just long enough to get a proper read on him. “How was your vacation?”
“Fine,” he shrugged, adjusting his grip on his basket. “Not long enough.”
“I feel that,” you made a noise of sympathy, as if you hadn’t spent the past two months counting down the days until the fall semester began.
“How about you?” he was at least polite enough to return your question, but for some reason, it didn't really sound like he was asking. “Had fun?”
You barely caught it—a sneer. He definitely knew. It made your stomach flip a bit, if you were being honest, but you managed to keep a straight face.
“Yeah,” you replied evenly. “Me, Chan, and Felix made the most of it.”
“I’m sure.”
In your efforts to talk to him, you seemed to have accidentally stumbled into some kind of one-sided staring contest with this guy, because he hadn’t broken eye contact even once from the moment you’d strided up to him.
“It’s a shame,” he continued casually. “That you won’t be coming over anymore.”
You paused. “What do you mean?”
“Don’t tell me you’re planning on using Chan as a tutor this semester, too?”
Something about the way he said it, the way he phrased it, made it difficult for you to keep up your composed front.
“Of course not. He’s done enough for me already.”
“Good,” Minho hummed, and though it appeared to be in agreement, it only put you further on edge. “He’s graduating after this term—you know that, right? So, playing hero for you is the last thing he needs.”
You narrowed your eyes. For a brief moment, you wondered if he might actually be jealous of you, if he somehow saw you as some kind of threat. But you dismissed the idea almost as soon as it came—the look Minho was giving you wasn’t of someone who was threatened, it was the look of someone who was threatening you.
“Why are you talking to me like that?”
“Like what?” he cocked his head innocently.
“Like I’ve done something wrong.”
“I don’t know what you mean,” he dismissed. “Maybe it’s just your guilty conscience?”
You wanted to be annoyed, to call him out for how he was behaving in a way that he couldn’t twist. The problem was, he was being so fucking weird. You couldn’t even fully understand what he was trying to get at, or what his angle was. You weren’t even sure if he had an angle outside of just trying to get a rise out of you.
The corner of his lips curved up into a smirk. Just like the day you’d first met him, it was pure trouble, only now, it was missing the playfulness you’d come to know.
“What’s with that face?” he chuckled. “I’m only joking.”
Whatever this situation was, you decided you’d had enough of it.
“You’re usually funnier than that,” you said curtly.
At that, you dipped your head, stepped to the side, and walked past him, determined not to let the strange feeling bubbling up inside you reach the surface.
Minho’s stare followed you as you stalked off, piercing into your back. Even after you’d rounded the corner into another aisle, the chill of it lingered on your skin.

halloween never really ends for me so could i request maka, soul, and dtk with a vampire s/o? thank you :>
absolutely my dear, all reign halloween!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Soul Eater Characters with a Vampire S/O
Soul "Eater" Evans
-would think it's mad cool, only adding to his 'cool persona'
-I mean a cool guy like him should have a cool S/O too
-only thing that would worry him is the whole "drinking blood" thing
-but once you explain that you usually only get blood from vendors (like Sarah in My Babysitter's a Vampire) or from bad people you fight (technically kishin souls still have human blood I think)
-Soul absolutely love your sharper vampire teeth, he has pretty sharp teeth too so he thinks it's fun that you two match
(plus he thinks it's hot to leave bite marks on him and the same for you)
-wouldn't let you drink his blood if you needed too out of fear for his lack blood spreading but he will either find someone else to help you or figure something else out
-do not walk on the ceiling around this man, he will scream and cry
-only thing he isn't a fan of is the whole 'never sleeping' part, like Soul needs sleepy cuddles to function, so you're being dragged whether it's you staring at the ceiling at night or not
-overall 8/10; isn't really bothered but it's not like he absolutely adores for the sake of being a vampire, he just likes you for you
Maka Albarn
-oh ho ho she thinks you're hot
-if you have the stereotypical "vamp goth" fashion style, she will do anything you ever ask of her
-she will be staring at you with red tinted heart glasses
-(and don't even get me started on when you bit her lip with your vamp teeth while making out)
-does find you being a vampire very interesting and will often ask you a lot of questions about what it's like
-it has crossed her mind more than once that you will outlive her by a long while but you always just kiss her until she forgets; deciding to save that issue for a later time
-she doesn't mind a lot of the you being a vampire quirks
-like you'll be climbing the wall and she'll just hand you a duster
"can you get that spot in the corner for me babe?"
-would probably be the only one on the list to let you drink her blood if you needed to
-but would also offer you other options and solutions first(let's be honest she has you on a schedule so you know when you need to feed so situations like that don't happen)
-Maka often stays up fairly late studying so she likes that you don't really sleep so you can keep her company
-overall: 11/10; Maka loves you so much and would do anythgin for you, please just cuddle this poor thing
Death the Kid
-probably the most apprehensive about you being a vampire out of the three
-once you get into a relationship he will actually learn to appreciate it
-I headcannon that as a grim reaper Kid doesn't really sleep much either, maybe a few hours but he doesn't need more than that
-so you both will be able to spend time with each other during the night when most are asleep <3
-will not under any circumstance let you drink his blood, as much as he wants to help you, there is no way to make the bite marks even on both sides of his neck or both wrists etc...
-but he will personally purchase blood from a blood bank or pay someone to regularly donate for you (rich boy privileges)
-another one to have a calendar or schedule to make sure you get the blood you need but will be less obvious about it then Maka though, would probably just make a light handed comment
"it's been a few days do you think you will need blood soon?"
-Kid will also be so happy that you're a vampire for the same reason Maka is worried, you will live a lot longer than a normal human being
-when Kid takes over as Lord death he will be semi immortal so he's so thankful that you will live just about as long as he will
-the rest of you being a vampire...not so much unfortunately
-like you will terrify him to his soul if you walk onn a wall
-and heavens forbid if your fangs aren't symmetrical
-but just love on him until he forgets about whatever he's rambling about and you're fine
-would be another to appreciate goth fashion, he would get you two matching outfits as your styles are similar <3
overall 9/10; I cannot think of a better part for Kid than an immortal being like himself, you guys will get to spend the better part of a thousand years with each other <3
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
that's all my loves!
hope you enjoyed anon

coming back home.
| T.S
Warnings: anticipatory/repetitive worrying, anxiety, mention of R not eating because of anxiety (but have eaten a meal a few hours before), R nibbling on lip and getting gently scolded by tay, heart stopping (soft and too cute) messages, and more focused on R until the end

Word Count: 3.7k
Category: fluff! hurt/comfort (if you squint)

"The worries, coming like a storm, but may they pass, in time."
|——————————— ⸆⸉ ———————————|
The car hummed as you unbuckled your seatbelt, checking that you had everything you needed before you went to get out to the parking lot. For the very moment, it was only you, and your phone keeping you company.
But today was the day. The day where Taylor was coming back home from her tour, after days of facetiming and watching her through videos and screens, you were finally going to see her again, to hold her and give her affection. The are you had driven to was the airport, your feet currently stepping upon the open parking lot of the airport ground.
The birds were chirping, and crows were flying back to their homes within a flock, the same as the people that was walking around, either with their friend or with their family.
You grab your phone from your pocket, opening up your direct messages to see if Taylor's texted you anything. There were no new messages, but you couldn't help but linger on the ones she had sent while you were at the house earlier, your heart swelling at the sight.
<- Back Tay<3 Facetime
Hey! I'm on the bridge, on the way to the plane. Gonna be in soon.
Hope you're taking care of yourself<3
Meet you when I arrive?
Hey love :] I'll be there to pick you up.
What time will the plane be down?
I think...in maybe about three hours or so...
Are the cats doing okay??
Why are you so far away from me? I miss you
too much to wait that long :(
Are the cats doing okay??
╭┈┈┈┈╯
Yes, they are, don't worry<3
Aw, I miss you too, sweetheart...
I'm gonna give you all the hugs and kisses and cuddles to make up for our time okay?
I LOOOOOVEEEE you!!! mwah!! ❤️❤️
Read at 4:56 PM
With a soft smile on your face, you enter the airport, looking up from your phone to see the crowds of people, filling the space. You took a deep breath, and slipped your phone back in your pocket.
You should have been used to it by now, you thought, but the amount of people that could surround you at any given moment was still a little frightening.
Of course, you weren't a celebrity who's used to being in public in such a way. You were only the lover of someone who's basically the figure of the music industry, but there was still the smallest risk for someone to recognize you, leading up to the mustering of a crowd. But you gave yourself all the encouragement you could, just for Taylor.
As you walk through, you kept yourself in small cover, wearing a cap tilted forward just slightly. Every person passing by or standing near was further making your anxiety levels heighten, but it wasn't all that bad once you remembered to put on your earphones. The music calmed down your heart, and distracted you from everything else, just a little.
The sound of the announcer echoes through the area, coming from the speakers propped up high in the airport. Your eyes traveled through the space, taking in how large it was.
There were some trinket shops, for the tourists that were visiting the very place you live in, while the other spots are for snacks and meals, but those didn't really gravitate your body towards them.
Once you catch sight of a bakery though, you didn't hesitate a single step to turn over to it, changing your path and taking the chance to grab a sweet treat for both you and Taylor.
As you opened the door and the bell lightly rang, you noticed that it wasn't packed at all. In fact, it was empty...a stark contrast to the amount of human bodies you were once surrounded by, just earlier.
The bakery was cozy, and the smell of freshly baked bread wafted all throughout the air of the space. You nearly had to pause when it filled your senses, the dim lighting luring you off to the glass casing too.
Inside, there were various snacks and small little meals perfect for traveling, although you were only in waiting for someone. Under a kind orange lighting, there were eggtarts, cookies, donuts, bagels, some pastries, and pies. Your stomach might've even protested, just a little at the sight, and you were grateful the owner was busy with his back to you, his hands putting a new batch of cookies in the oven.
It didn't take long for you to decide on what to get, knowing Taylor's favorites like they were yours. After a few seconds of just staring at the baked goods, not even trying to decide anymore, but now gathering your courage to talk, you look up to the man that had turned to look at you. Realizing his attention was on you, you take out your earphones to rest in your hand.
"Anything you'd like?" He asks, his question open, rather than a direct ask. He had a mustache and a kind face with a smile, his hat tilted off to the side. You couldn't resist the small smile on your own lips, along with a nod.
You pointed to the treats you wanted, mentioning their names too in case he couldn't figure out which one your finger went to.
He opened the glass door and happily took them out, delicately putting each of them into small clear bags and containers, that then go into a bigger, plastic bag with the bakery's logo on it.
It wasn't a rush hour, nor were you rushing yourself. The both of you were relaxed as he loads them gently, and you were patient as you watched, leaning your arm against the counter.
Once he had finished, he places your bought food in front of you, making sure they were all taken in. He counted each type into the cash register screen, the numbers going up until he gestures to the card scanner. You, of course, brought out your card, and did the usual procedure, holding it to the scanner. It was read, and the payment easily goes through.
After you stored your card back, you grab the plastic bag, careful not to jostle it as you turn around. The owner returns back to his work in the meanwhile, glad he could make another customer happy, along with himself.
Walking through the airport was a pain to your legs, with it being a large building that then had another large building connected to it. You had even resorted to going onto the long flat escalators that were spread around the place, taking breaks while still moving, but when you realized it was way too slow, you went back to making your legs work.
Finally, you reached the nearest waiting area to where Taylor's gate would be, the big windows at the side showing a view of the runway.
There weren't a lot of taken seats, the place being a more calm and breathable area. But still, you took the corner that was closest to the large window, not wanting to be too out in the open space.
The chair creaked just slightly when you sat on it, a sign of its old age and successful long stay in the airport. But surprisingly, it was in good shape despite it, and the leather was clean.
Crinkles came from your plastic bag next, being placed on the seat beside you, and you only hoped no one would steal it when you weren't looking.
You grab out a sausage bun from out the bag, a reasonable choice for the way your stomach made sound earlier. The bread was a little oily when you had to grab it out with your hand, considering it was being stubborn with fumbling its way out the clear plastic, but you simply made it dissolve into your skin by rubbing your fingers together.
The first bite was a delicacy to your taste buds. There was no doubt you'll return to that bakery whenever you'll need to come back to this airport, it easily getting your approval.
You enjoy your small meal, needing to put it down for a moment to put your earphones back on, muffling off the world around you and filling your ears with music instead, once more.
Of course, it was your girlfriend's songs playing on your phone. 'Holy Ground (Taylor's Version)' sounding out, continuing the Red album from where you had left it, off from the car.
You took a deep breath in, then softly released it, preparing yourself to do a deep dive with the music, and for the hours of waiting you'd need to do. To be honest, you were even a little more anxious of the waiting, than the people around you, your eyes warily wandering for your surroundings, before your gaze returns to the window.
Planes arrived and departed, and you watched, staying quiet in your corner. The minutes pass by. The time ticks off each hour, the clock somewhere on the airport wall showing how long its been.
You were almost sure someone was manipulating it to be going slower than it should. But the longer it goes, the more anxious you got.
Your eyes watch a plane arrive, your breath held in your throat as you saw that it was the same airline company that Taylor was on, but it wasn't going to her gate.
The held breath you had releases as a sigh, and you lean back in your seat, tilting your head to see the bag of baked goods beside you. You only hoped the food wasn't going too cold. But, in the gentle attack of the airport AC, there wasn't much you could do.
Your eyes start to roam a little more, tearing them away from the window you've been stuck on, wanting to catch a glimpse of Taylor's plane, touching down to be home to you.
The occupance of seats in your area wasn't changing much, and you couldn't tell if the airport was getting more crowded or growing empty. Maybe neither.
Instead of listening to the music, you were starting to space out, feeling the beat of your heart against your chest, and your teeth had sank into your lips, wondering what was happening on her end. She said she'd arrive in three hours and it had been four. But of course she was coming, why wouldn't she? Had her plane run late? Did she miss it and forgot to tell you in the midst of her busy work? No, of course not.
You check your phone, your hand feeling the leather material of your chair as you do. There wasn't any new messages from her, and it didn't take much for your leg to start moving from the worrying.
It wasn't until you look back up from your phone that you finally notice the big screen at the end of the airport, showing every flight's info; their times and their travels all written down.
Your breath got caught at the realization, and quickly, your eyes searched for Taylor's flight, passing by the other ones that were meaningless to you.
You saw it. Just a glimpse, but damn the screen changing for the other flights just as you do. You wait a little. Then, you saw, thankfully, not a red line on hers, but a yellow one, the large capitalized words beside it showing; 'DELAYED ARRIVAL'.
Your eyebrows furrowed. Taylor had gone on the plane before it could be delayed, considering she texted you that she was already on the bridge, so what could have possibly happened?
A sigh left your lips, and you shifted in your seat, your mind's noise only getting stronger for her in the passing time.
Outside, it was a pretty sunset, the blue skies fading off to an orange, chasing yellows in between. You couldn't help but think if Taylor was looking at the same view, and if hers were prettier in the plane.
Maybe she was worrying about you too, especially with the nighttime coming into play, but all you had was the window to look to in hope. After a few more moments, you try messaging her, your heart hoping that maybe it'll get a message out of her, somehow.
Hey, you're late, what happened??
sent at 6:23 PM
But upon the bright skies disappearing into a dark night, the hope was shrinking small, and the orange lights that came from the aiport vehicles outside with the marshallers were reflecting off the window.
I'm worried, tay
get home safe, please
sent at 6:24 PM
You texted her again, your lower lip bitten deeply by your teeth, and you were sure Taylor would notice the marks and battering of your lips when she's back with you.
In the gray clouds that covered up the stars, if there were any to be seen with the amount of lights there were at the airport-- the wind was starting to build outside, causing the workers to hold onto the vehicles and bags they had.
When a lightning flashes and it sounded out before you could even count out how long it'd be until the noise came, you flinched, your heartrate growing quicker at the sudden surprise.
It was clear. A strong storm was oncoming, and now you were at the edge of your seat, holding onto yourself. Your stomach was getting emptier from the amount of time thats gone by, but you didn't even feel like getting anything into your system in the suspense, and even looking at the bag, you were sure you'd be sick from anxiety.
You kept staring. Hoping. Even if you had done the same thing all those hours ago, maybe this time it'll work, that you'll finally see the plane Taylor was on.
And for once there was something through the dark clouds. Of course, lots of plane were passing and coming already, but it was slowly stopping at the storm, and your eyes transfixed on the blinking light you saw.
It was green and red, and it blinked again, and again, until you saw a plane finally pass by through the clouds, having the markings of Taylor's, but you were still waiting, and waiting.
You had to even put your music to a pause, needing to put your focus all upon it, along with steadying your breaths.
The plane had touched down, and it was soon going down the empty runway, the grass, tall as it was, being blown back by both the wind of the airplane and the weather.
The slowness of it almost frustrated you. But you kept watching, your eyes flickering from the plane to the screen until the giant screen blinked, and the line turned green on Taylor's flight, showing 'ARRIVED', in assurance for you. The plane had slowly stopped too, being guided to its parking spot.
Oh. You were relieved. So, so relieved, you felt at the near edge of collapsing. The breath you let out felt like the longest one you held, and you blinked your eyes to get yourself together.
She had better been in that plane. You pick up the plastic bag with the food, gathered your things, and stored your earphones, standing up without another second wasted.
Your feet was swift with your shoes on the ground, going to where the exit of the security area would be, and you searched, desperately, after every person that walks through the doorway. The plane didn't even have all that many people onboard, but each one that left felt like one too many to you.
You shifted on your feet, peeked, and had to move to the side so people could walk through the airport without trouble, but only until you saw a speckle of the familiar blonde hair you would usually see at home.
It wasn't much, but it was something, and you had to wait for her to turn fully before you could see if it truly was Taylor or not. When she did, slowly, god, your heart pumped with excitement. It was almost like seeing her for the first time again. There she was. In front of you.
"Tay!!!" you called her, waving at her, and her once tired eyes widened, her face brightening as she goes to run to you, opening her arms out.
"HI!!" She said, her volume much stronger than it should be, but she didn't care, eagerly wrapping her arms around you once she was completely close to you.
"Hi!! Oh, baby, what happened, where were you??" you ask, your second question perhaps not making sense in the slightest, but you've been too worried and is filled up with too much happiness to even think.
"Oh, god, I was so worried you wouldn't be here!! My plane got caught up in a storm and the lines were all dead so I couldn't text you, and--" She rambles, her hands tightening around you before you realize she was far too worried herself.
"Shhh...baby, baby...its okay, I'm just happy you're safe," you whisper, nuzzling into the side of her head and leaving a kiss there, the both of you swaying slightly.
"I missed you. I've missed you so much," she murmurs, leaving kisses herself, and her adrenaline of seeing you was wearing off as she relished in your warm hug.
"I love you. And I've missed you too..." You whisper, sighing softly, trying to hold back the prickling tiniest bits of tears that were trying to form.
"I love you too. Oh, you have no idea how much I've missed you..." she continues, nuzzling into your neck and mumbling about it, clutching onto you as if you'd disappear.
You giggle softly, feeling her squeezes and kisses, returning it all yourself, especially because you were holding onto her for dear life, too.
"I'm here now...I'm here," you whisper softly and soothingly, rubbing your hand up and down her back. You only thanked everything in the world that the people were actually lessening, at least from her plane's arrival, and they were tired themselves too, unable to even focus on the reunion the two of you had. But you were sure there was more to come for this plane's next departure.
You look around before leaning back, just inches away. "Lets get out of here before more people gather up, sweetheart," you say, returning your gaze to her with all your softness.
She nods. "Yeah...its been too long of a day, I can't even-- think to deal with that right now..." She whispers, pulling away from you with emotion in her eyes and a small sniffle from her nose. You smile softly, your hand sliding up to gently wipe her tears off of her cheek.
"Time to go home, hm?" You said quietly, letting her lean against your side as you turned around to walk, helping to take her backpack and luggage with you while your other arm kept itself around her.
She nods, her arms wrapped around your waist. Of course, her bodyguards were around, keeping an eye on your surroundings and the both of you, but you didn't mind them, grateful they were there in fact, as you walked out to the car together
The car ride home was full of her hand reaching over to intertwine with yours, and she would be leaning against your shoulder if not for the centre console getting in her way.
She was also sleepy. Oh, so sleepy, your heart ached at the sight. You'd bring your hand to her shoulder whenever there was a red light, soothingly rubbing her in reassurance, while also helping her tense muscles.
When you arrived to your home, she was already about asleep, her head tilted slightly in the passenger seat, and the seatbelt keeping her safe.
You turned off the engine, but then looked to her, your teeth sinking into your lower lips. She looked so pretty, even in just the streetlight. And adorable. Every feature of her face, you traced with your eyes, but you snap out of it with the fading feeling of the car's cool air.
You almost didn't have the heart to wake her up, but you knew you definitely weren't going to make it to the bedroom holding her up.
So, with a hesitating hand, you reach over and gently put it on her shoulder. "Tay..." you whisper, starting at a very low volume at first.
But nothing came from her, not even a stir. She was too deep in her sleep, and that made you even more reluctant.
After a few more seconds paired with the encouragement of the heat that was starting to seep into the car with the engine off, you very gently shook her shoulder. "Tay...baby, wake up..." you whisper softly, trying one more time.
Finally, she did stir, a small groan sounding from her as her eyes barely opened, but she only put her hand atop yours and whined, clearly not wanting to wake up.
"Baby, we're home...come on, I'll help you walk, hm?" you offer, giving a gentle squeeze to her shoulder. The only response you got was a small huff, and a smile rose on your lips. She was always the cutest when she was sleepy, and your heart always melted at it.
You get out the car, rounding off to her side to open the door. She was awake, but with a sleepy pout as she slumped in her seat. A soft breath passed by your mouth, and you unbuckle her seatbelt, smiling softly at how she wasn't budging until you gave her a kiss and helped her up.
The path to the front door was paved safely through slow steps and a fumbling of your keys, and you somehow arrived to the edge of your shared bed after locking off the front door of the house.
Taylor had lazily fallen into the warm, cozy, familiar bed, mumbling some incoherent things under her breath that you'd guess are words that meant she missed the soft mattress and sheets she always slept in.
You let her get comfortable, but not before the two of you change that you finally join her in bed, crawling up to lay comfortably beside her, your arm wrapping around to her back to pull her closer.
She lets out a soft, content sigh, cuddling you close, too. Her eyes were already closed, but she wasn't asleep again just yet, and your mind was roaming too much back to the airport.
Not wanting to disturb her, but also wanting to talk about it, you decide to keep your voice hushed. "So...your plane was traveling through a storm?" you whisper, your free hand shifting slightly to go closer to hers.
"Mhm...'m sorry I worried you...the plane already went in the air and there was no line..." she whispers sleepily, feeling the brush of your fingers, so she intertwines your free hands.
Your eyes soften and your body relaxes at her slower explanation than her worried rambling from earlier. "...Baby, don't be sorry. It wasn't your fault you didn't know there was a storm, and neither did the employees," you murmur, brushing a stray strand of her hair to the back of her ear.
She smiles softly, and snuggles up closer to you, nuzzling into your chest. It didn't take long for her to end up leaving a kiss on your collarbone, then your cheek, and then finally trailing off inches away from your lips, but she pauses, seeing the small bitten skin of your lips.
A soft sigh escapes her, but the worry in her eyes were a tell that she wasn't mad or anything, only concerned for you. Her thumb goes to gently caress your lip before she leans in, kissing it slowly to make it better.
You easily melted into it, finding the reassurance in the softness of it all. "I'm happy you're safe..." You pull up the covers, wanting to keep you both a little more warm.
She moves herself a little, but leans back into you. "I'll always come back home to you..." she then takes a breath, continuing. "but you need to stop hurting your pretty lips, baby..." the blonde whispers, and you gaze down at her in sweetness.
"I can't help it...I'm sorry," you add on quietly. She could feel your heart beating, lulling her to sleep, but she knows the worries going in your mind, so she nuzzles into you again.
"It's okay...I'm right here beside you, so, shh...just go to sleep, baby..." she whispers, assuring you with a soft squeeze of her embrace, and leaving a kiss to your neck, wanting you to feel comforted before going to sleep yourself.
"I love you..." you murmur, your eyes falling heavily, and you could feel her hand gently slipping under your shirt, soothingly caressing your skin with her thumb.
"Mmn...love you, too," she whispers, just before the two of you fell deep into your snuggled up slumber.

~•~
It was a chill sunday evening when you received a message from Possum.
Possum:
Wish you could be here with me, mommy is feeling very naughty tonight.
10:30 PM
You bit your lip, reading the message again and again.
You had been texting this misterious woman, who called herself Possum, for a couple of months now. It all started innocently, she found you on Tumblr and sent you a message. You remained intrigued by her, her way of texting was sweet and passionate, especially when she talked about what she liked- fashion shows and fashion in general, she could go hours telling you about it.
You stalked her account; she reposted pictures of cats, and, obviously, fashion related posts. She seemed innocent but refined. Soon enough, you found out she wasn't that innocent after all.
She started asking you personal questions, at first normal one, like what was your colour or your favourit dish, then getting more insidious, like what was your favourite position in bed or if you liked to be toped.
You didn't mind, you took a liking to her, so you replied truthfully, knowing she would do the same. And before you knew it, she started wanting you to call her mommy and even asked you if you would be willing recording you touch yourself. You declined, but not because you didn't trust her or because you were ashamed or shy about it, but you would have prefered leaving this kind of things for when you would meet in real life.
You:
Then maybed I should come over and make mommy feel good.
10:35 PM
It was time to get things in motion and see who you were talking to. You imagined she was a beautiful woman, she said she was in her forties, and you loved middle aged women, so that was surely a point in her favour- and in yours. You imagined she was a freak in bed- all those messages she sent you, about how she would have liked to try different positions with you, made you certain she was a beast in making love.
You waited for her reply, while your thoughts filled with fantasies of her touching you. You didn't even know how she looked but that didn't stop you from dreaming.
Possum:
I'll send you my location. Don't make mommy wait.
10:40 PM
You jumped off your bed and ran towards your wardrobe. You were wearing your pajama, so it was evident that you needed to change. What to wear, though, was a dilemma. You wanted something that would have caught her eye, something luxurious, sexy, but easy to be undressed from.
After a while, you opted for a tight skirt and a blouse- you left the first three buttons unbottuned. You wore a choker with the word "pet" spelled on it.
You smiled, calling a taxi and giving the driver the adress. The ride there was torture, you nimbled on your bottom lip, thinking of all the ways she would make you come undone. You were already feeling the ache, the need to feel her touch all over you.
Once arrived, you paid the taxi driver and texted Possum.
You:
I'm here.
11:19
You looked around you. The neighborhood was quiet and you could tell from the villas and expensive houses that she was rich like everybody else there.
You glanced at your phone, seeing that she read your text. You waited for a second, before the door in front of you opened and your breath itched in your throat.
Before you stood the most beautiful woman you had ever layed eyes upon. Her white hair was in an introcate updo, her plump lips were painted a sinful shade of red. Her blue eyes were watching you curiously and hungryly. She was tall, very tall and she wore a tight, beige dress, that accentuated her curves in a delicious way. You imagined she was beautiful, but she was divine, she was more than you could have ever dreamed of.
"Please, do come in."
You smiled, making your way into her house. It was huge and well decorated. She wasn't lying when she said she liked fashion. Everything was curated meyiculously, every detail added to the perfection of the interior.
"This is nice. You are nice."
She raised an eyebrow, smiling. You were so nervous, you felt your cheeks flush red.
"Am I just "nice" or do I make you feel something more... carnal?"
You gulped. You had just met her and yet you were ready feeling inebriated by her. It made you feel dizzy, like you were dreaming, but you hoped it was really real, that she wasn't just a fantasy born from your imagination.
"You make me feel everything at once."
She hummed and you had to close your eyes, the sound going straight to your core. Her voice was something otherworldly. Her english accent made her sound refined, and her voice was sweet and low, making you feel like a sailor at sea, called by a siren. You were doomed, you could have easily fell for a woman like her. Maybe you already did.
You opened your eyes at the feeling of her hand on your throat. You gasped, her fingers tracing the letters on your choker. She giggled, an exquisite sound that you wanted to hear more of.
"My little pet."
You watched her lips move whilst she said that, feeling the need to know how soft they were. Her hand closed gently around your neck, squeezing gently. You let out a moan, watching as Larissa's eyes grew darker. Then her lips clashed on yours, it was so fast you could have missed it if it wasn't that now you two were kissing, and her lips were soft as feathers, your wanted to stay like that forever.
Her tongue swept on your bottom lip, asking for entrance, and you gave it to her. Her tongue didn't have to battle with yours for dominance, because you were more than alright being the one seduced and dominated. The fact that a woman like her wanted you made your ego reach up the stars.
"Come."
She took her hand and led you up the stairs, to her bedroom. The room was spacious but almost empty. There was a huge painting on one wall depicting two women having sex. It was beautifully made, it almost looked like a photograph. There was a kingsized bed, who screamed for you to use it.
She kissed you again, more gently than before, and started unbottuning your blouse.
"If you're not feeling comfortable, tell me to stop and I will."
You shook your head, helping her undress you.
"I want this, I want you."
She gave you a quick peck on the lips before taking off your blouse. The skirt followed it on the floor. She took two steps back, glancing at you.
"Hm beautiful."
You blushed, her compliment meant the world to you. She made you sit on the side of the bed, then she slowly started taking off her dress. Her legs were long and toned, almost in contrast with her pale complexion that made her look like she made out of porcelain. When she remained in her undergarments, she sat on your lap and began moving on you, giving you a lap dance. It was funny, her, the tall and mature one, giving you, the small and young one, the lap dance. But you didn't complain.
She knew what she was doing, roaming her hands on your body, her hot breath on your ear. You clasped your hands on her butt, helping her move easily on you.
"Tell me what you need."
Her whisper made you shiver.
"Fuck me."
She stopped her motions and got off you. She kneeled and opened your legs. You moaned at the sight. She looked at you with doe eyes while she took off your panties. The fresh air hit your wet center and you whimpered. She stroked your folders with two fingers, feeling just how ready you were to be taken.
"Is this the effect mommy has on you?"
You nodded frantically, seeing her on her kneew, between your legs, made you horny like nothing else could.
"Do you want mommy to make you feel good?"
You nodded again, letting out a small moan. She was so hot, so seductive, you wondered if she was ever like this or if she learned to be.
"Say it."
"I want mommy to make me feel good."
"Hm good pet."
She licked your slit, latching on your clitoris, sucking at it and swirling her tongue around it. Waves of pleasure washed over you, you felt euphoric. She swept her tongue one last time on your bundle of nerves before entering you with two fingers. You let out a whimper, grasping the sheet under you. She curled her fingers inside you, making you see stars.
"Good girl, taking me so well."
You were a moaning mess, soon you felt the orgams wash over you. She helped you ride it, still moving gently inside you.
"Such a good pet, did mommy make you feel good?"
"You made me feel more than good."
She smirked, taking out her fingers. She put them in her mouth, looking at you straight in the eyes. She moaned, tasting you on her digits. Your pupils dilated, feeling yourself grow needy once more.
"Do you want to make mommy feel good too?"
She took off her undergarments, and positioned herself between your legs. Her clitoris touched yours, and you felt a jolt of electricity run in your veins. She started slowly moving her hips, the friction making you whimper. Your clitoris was still sensitive, but it felt good to feel her moving on top of you.
"Hm you're going to make mommy come."
She started riding you faster, her hips swaying up and down quickly. In a matter of minutes, you two were pn the edge.
"Come with me, make me hear you scream my name."
You only needed a few more movements and you both came.
"Larissa!"
She layed beside you, giving you a quick kiss on the forehead. You hugged her, feeling her warm skin touch yours. You could get used to this.
"It was awesome."
She laughed.
"You had doubts?"
You smiled, shaking your head. She cupped your cheek. You tried to take a picture of her in your mind. Her lipstick smeared, her updo slowly falling apart. She somehow looked better than before.
"If you want to, you can stay the night."
"I would love to."
You both smiled. You felt incredibly lucky to have met her, and you knew that night was the start of something far bigger and marvelous than you could have predicted.

Monday of Appreciation #1: July 22, 2024
Welcome to my version of Smite's Monday of Appreciation, wherein I'll name a few of the users who I have appreciated since I got on here, so about 2 and a half years. I'll probably do one of these every few months.
#1: @ggidolsmuts
Ah, Ddeun. One of Tumblr's more underrated users, in my opinion. First-class writing and support for me in the earlier (and current) days of my career. I'll never forget the first of yours I read, which was your Fromis App work on Yiren. In fact, reading this and some of your others were what lead me to write for Tumblr in the first place, which is why you place at #1. I wouldn't even be here if it weren't for you.
#2: @xiaoondc
I think it was your Momo ask that really got me noticed, since after that I went from about 50 followers to about 500 in a month. Field Trip was REALLY what got me noticed, which brought me more spotlight. Really, I'd be nowhere without your initial noticing of me. You've been a loyal supporter and advisor who's pitched several good smuts, a few of which are coming soon. And by soon, I mean in 2050. So you are a second crucial role in how I got to where I am. I also appreciate that I can go to you for assistance, advice, or just for moral support at any time.
#3: @aurorororaaa
You were my first follower. Maybe you thought I'd forget you, but I didn't. Thank you.
#4: @jazi1234
You were the first to give a like on my first ever post. Thank you.
#5: @fukurofanfics
You've been a fantastic friend my entire life, as well as being a loyal supporter of my account. Couldn't appreciate you more, man.
#6: @co-reborn
Wrote two of the best Yiren smuts I've ever read, as well as several other fantastic ones.
#7: @idolsgeneration
Somehow finds time to post pictures of my favorite idols like every 10 minutes, and a couple of those posts inspired smuts, either ones I've posted or ones in progress. And some for a long time in the future.
#8: @fillinforlater
Another one of the first writers I discovered on Tumblr, and the one responsible for many a fantastic fic. Also the one who inspired this post.
#9: @sinswithpleasure
Bucket List 5, an incredible Nayeon smut and one of the first I read after some of Ddeun's. Also someone who inspired me to start writing my ideas myself.
#10: @banananutsmuthie
Idol Club was just amazing, and the lore that came with it. Also someone who inspired me to write.
#11: @smuttysabina / @dailysabinasmuts
Phenomenal short fics every day of the week, as well as several longer works which are just as good. I really like your work on Everglow, we need more.
#12: @capslocked
Insanely long fics (it's like 30k works a smut, I swear 💀), but insanely good fics. Yet another who inspired me to write.
#13: @lustspren
Supreme writing, which has inspired the sentence structure and usage of words in some of my work. Was also the author of the first smut I gave a like to, for what that's worth.
#13: @byunrosehajoon
You're my fiancée and soon-to-be wife in about 12 hours. Love you babe.
______________________________________________________________
If anyone feels like they should have been on here, give me a shout and you might be on the next one.
All the best -상훈

Aegon II Targaryen x Fem!Reader
Synopsis: The story of how you accidentally became fuck buddies with your best friend... who is a werewolf. Tags: Omegaverse, slick, ruts, knots all that stuff. VV minor manipulation, stressed out best friend, begging, cursing, short story mainly smut Author’s Note: This is my first time writing like this so pls be gentle w me. Inspired by a post my queen made a while ago @lovelykhaleesiii Not my best work but it's a filler while I update some other wips and series.
8:30 pm
Aegon was going to be late as usual. In the long years of friendship, you had with him he was never on-time to anything, although neither were you. You sunk into the couch and scrolled through your phone, searching for something to pass the time. At the very worst he would be an hour late, at the best he would be here soon.
9:30 pm
Tiktok was quickly becoming uninteresting and so was any discourse on Twitter you tried to read. The clock ticked on, and Aegon was nowhere to be seen. Your patience was wearing thin, and you couldn't help but wonder what could have possibly caused such a delay. Did something happen to him? Should you reach out to check if he was okay?
10:30 pm
The minutes turned into hours, and fatigue began to set in. Sitting on the couch, your mind drifted to various scenarios, from Aegon getting caught up in an unexpected event to simply forgetting about your plans. Regardless, his disappearance was unusual, even for him. Normally, he would have texted you with an excuse or promised to hang another there.
11:00 pm
As the night grew darker, your concern transformed into frustration. You considered calling or texting Aegon, but a part of you hesitated, not wanting to appear too eager or needy. You were proud, far too proud to let him know he was stressing you the fuck out. Still, you couldn't shake off the worry that something might have gone wrong. You stalked all of his socials, inactive. You tried to check his location, but he turned it off, bastard. You messaged Aemond who politely left you on read, as always.
By now you should accept the fact he’s ghosting you… After years of friendship, it ends like this. What a load of fucking bullshit, a game only Aegon would play. You’re overthinking, maybe he really was hurt or drunk or lost. Too many possibilities raced through your head as you were getting dressed.
12:00 pm
Your anxious nature took over as you stepped into his ancient apartment building made of old brick. In the past he’d been known for going on all types of benders. Even though he had been sober for quite some time it did not quell the thought he may have relapsed. Your worst fears grew more prominent each step you took towards his door. What if he was dead? What if he was missing? What if he really was just ghosting you to fuck another female? All of the above were causing your heart to race and stomach churn.
Bang bang bang
“Aegon! Are you in here?!” you shouted from outside the door, digging into your purse for the spare key. “Aeg! If you don’t answer i'm coming in!” From outside you could hear the sounds of… something inside. You weren’t sure if it was a groan or a moan but neither boded well for you. ‘Fuck it,’ you thought to yourself as you jammed your key into the door. The inside was the same, plain and simple. The black couch still sat in front of the flat screen and the kitchen by the door was completely untouched. As you stalked further inside the small whimpers from his bedroom became more and more clear. He was alive, but he must be with someone else. That almost hurt worse. Even if you were just friends, it was painfully obvious how much you fancied him. You were practically fuming, who the fuck was he with now? Your steps turned into long strides as you neared his door, slamming it open with one hand.
“What the fu-” The scene before you sucked all of the air out of your body. He was alive and… “This isn’t what it looks like!” He jumped, falling off the bed with only a sheet covering him. You were stunned, shocked, confused, and utterly dumbfounded. There he was humping a pillow wi- with a tail? “What the fuck—” you drawled out your words trying to comprehend the situation at hand. There Aegon was, as bare as a baby, with a fluffy tail and ears…
“I can explain, just- just-” Aegon paused to sniff the air, for the first time he noticed your scent. The pheromones you were releasing immediately threatened to drive him crazy. His rut was horrible this year, reaching the worst today. He took to fucking a pillow and was crying trying to ease the pain… You had no idea how much worse you had made it for him by walking inside. Had you been in heat this entire time and it took a transformation for him to notice your sweet smell? It was intoxicating, mind dumbing and exhilarating all at once. His thoughts became a flurry of all the things he wanted with you. Aegon wanted to ravage you, devour you whole and claim you as his mate. Did you even know you were in heat?
He stood up, with the sheet poorly covering his erection. His eyes were blurry with tears and his lips formed into a permanent pout. “I need you- I need your help, just please don’t run.” Your eyes drifted down to his bulge; it isn't wrong you were only human after all! “H-how can I help?” There are no words in any language to describe what you were feeling. You were shocked, scared, turned on, and in awe of the tail wagging behind him. Never in any lifetime did you expect the term “human golden retriever” to become a reality. “It hurts- so so bad.” He whined making slow moves towards you so as to not startle you.
This was odd, he was odd, you were having a fucking fever dream or something. You pointed a finger at his crotch, eyeing him up and down. He nodded his head vigorously and you swore his ears perked up. I can’t fix it without your help.” Was he drooling or was that the tears still falling from his eyes… “w-why?” His voice cracked, “Its- Its a wolf thing.” Ah, he was a werewolf not a dog. He took a step forward and you circled around him, back facing the bed. You weren’t scared, just overwhelmingly confused. Of course, you always wanted him, always thought of him begging but not like this…
Your breath was sucked out of you once more as he fell to his knees, hand gripping at your sides. He stared up at you with the worst case of puppy dog eyes you’ve ever seen. “I’ve always wanted you- I’ve always needed you, but I-I was so scared. P-please! Let me prove it to you.” A bit manipulative, but what else could he do? His cock was throbbing, and you were the most beautiful prey he had ever laid eyes upon. “I… ok, I’ll help.”
His eyes turned primal, making you automatically realize there was an error in your decision. Aegon, acting purely on instinct, pounced on you. His weight pushing you fully onto the bed, squirming beneath him as his lips devoured yours. A guttural growl escaping his throat as he grinded himself against your clothed cunt.
Aegon's fingers dug into your thighs as he pulled them apart. His tongue lapped hungrily at your neck, making you shudder as goosebumps erupted across your skin. A moan escaped your lips as his hands moved to rip off your clothes. Of course, he couldn’t just remove them normally. With two quick tears they were gone along with your bra and panties leaving you completely naked under his gaze. Superhuman strength, that’ll take some getting used to.
The feel of his hot breath sent shivers through your body as he moved downwards. He was panting, inhaling the sweet scent of your slick. Aegon needed to taste it, to feel it cover his tongue. His fingers trailed over your cunt before pressing firmly into your slit, causing you to arch upwards. Oh god, were you this wet from him crying?
You felt the tip of his tongue press against your clit. At first it was just a taste, to test if you were as sweet as you smelled. It was better, so much better than anyone could imagine. His mouth pressed firmly against you, Aegon’s tongue mercilessly lapping at your pussy. The way he devouring you drove you insane, sending shocks shooting throughout your entire being.
He began to lap faster at your sensitive flesh, desperate to swallow you whole. He behaved like a man starved and this was his last steak. He didn’t care about anything else; all he cared for was satisfying his hunger. His claws pricked your ass cheeks as he knelt between your legs, forcing you open wider. His tongue dipped into your hole causing your legs to shiver.
"Ahh!" You cried out, buckling as waves of pleasure shot through your core. Your cunt began tightening around nothing as his tongue moved to do circles around your clit. The vibrations of his low growls sending a new pleasure throughout you.
He pulled back, his face glistening with your slick. Aegon licked his lips lazily, as he stared down at you. "Baby," he purred, baring his fangs you did not know existed. "I’m gonna claim you." His words made you blush, wait how was he gonna?
He quickly shoved his lips onto your own, sucking every word out of your mouth. His teeth nipping at your bottom lip as he thrusted his hips forwards, grinding against your slick. A sharp gasp escaped your lips as he prodded at your entrance.
Aegon let go of your face snaking his hands down to your waist… Without notice, he flipped you onto your stomach causing you to yelp. Before you knew it, he was straddling you, one knee on either side of your body. His erection rubbed against the crease between your ass cheeks as he held himself above you.
You looked up at him, watching his chest rise and fall rapidly. He stared at you for confirmation, even in wolf form consent mattered. You nodded, unable to speak. Aegon gave you a feral grin before shoving himself inside you.
"Oh fuck!" You moaned loudly as he pushed deeper, stretching you wide. This wasn't going to be easy. But then again, neither were any of the things Aegon did. He began thrusting harshly, giving you no time to adjust. Each deep push forced another scream to escape your lips until he dropped his full weight on you, pulling your face up by your hair.
Aegon’s head dipped into the crook of your neck, near your collarbone and he fucking bit you. From this point on, you were claimed, forever and always his omega. His movements became rougher as he neared his finish. It felt as if his cock was growing inside you.
Your hands gripped the sheets tightly, as you whimpered and moaned different curses. Your body acting without you as it tightened around him. As if your very essence wanted to give him what he desired most. Allowing him to fill you up and make you his.
"A-A-Aegon!" You screamed out as you came. Your muscles clenching around his shaft. He growled, a real growl this time as his cock began to form a knot, securing himself deep inside you. His arms wrapped unbearably tight around you, squeezing your breasts roughly while he slammed hard into you, burying his cock fully within your womb. Your cunt tightened around his knot as his seed spilled out inside of you.
You landed in unison, slowly he eased his grip on you so you could sink into the bed. “A-Aegon are you going to move?” You were absolutely clueless as to why you were still stuffed to the brim. His cock must have grown which goes against human biology but apparently so did his very existence.
He peppered kisses along your shoulder as he moved to pull you into a spooning position. “We’re gonna be stuck like this for a while.”

A HH Lucifer-centric AU 20/?
PART 1, PART 2, PART 3, PART 4, PART 5, PART 6, PART 7, PART 8, PART 9, PART 10, PART 11, PART 12, PART 13, PART 14, PART 15, PART 16, PART 17, PART 18, PART 19, PART 21, PART 22
Like ketchup. Slowly then all at once.
Radioapple!
--------------------------------------------------
Lucifer still feels like he's underwater, floating where the current takes him. He thinks he's dreaming because his eyes refuse to open all the way.
At least he isn't burning anymore.
It's mostly quiet, the only sound he can hear is the sloshing of the water.
It's calm. He doesn't know how long has it been since he's been calm in the quiet without company.
Once in a while though, he hears voices. The waves carry them in weird intervals and he tries very hard to think who is talking.
'You'll be okay, Luci.'
'I'll do everything to make you comfortable and back to full health.'
'AN HONOR TO SERVE YOU, SIRE. DO GET BETTER. I SHALL GIVE YOU THE BEST SERVANT THE GOETIA CAN PROVIDE.'
'Big bro, if you wake up now, I'll give you a lifetime supply of my juice!'
'Okay fine, I'll change Looloo Land's name fo real, yeah?'
'You need to meet Fizzie still, Luci.'
'Don't worry sir! I didn't touch a single duck in your room when I cleaned it. No more bugs though!'
'Zestial and I give our deepest gratitude in behalf of the overlords, Your Majesty.'
'Charlie is a fast learner.'
'Oh, Your Majesty, do wake up. I don't think I can take any more of Alastor's not-rambling. I love me some romance but whooowee, a woman has her limits, yknow!'
'I don't think I can eva' thank ya enough fo' setting me free, short king.'
'Pretty badass, your kingness.''
'I want to get to know you still sir.'
'Darling, do come back to me now. I miss you so. And do not listen to any of Rosie's lies.'
'Dad, please wake up. I need you.'
The last voice caused the calm waters to turn into a whirlpool and he feels himself being pulled down. A bright light appears in front of him, illuminating the deep, dark waters. And for a moment, just a moment, he thinks- no it couldn't be;
He reaches out a hand to touch but as soon as it did, he was propelled to the surface.
Lucifer wakes up slowly and then all at once. The King blinks in confusion and trying to get his eyesight to clear. A blurry figure of white is the first to greet him; no face but it's smiling?
'Father?'
Charlie: Dad!
Huh?
Lucifer: Charlie?
He winces at the state of his voice. Did he scream himself sore? He tries remembering what happened and-
The roots.
Roo.
A ritual.
Charlie.
Hell.
Sloth.
Goodie.
The deal.
A prophecy.
A sudden pain stabbed his head which caused him to groan.
Lucifer: Shit!
He forces himself to sit up just to relieve it a little. A rubbing hand on his back grounds him a bit. Looking up, he came face-to-face with his daughter. His sweet, lovely, Charlie.
Charlie: Woah, Dad. Take it easy. Here have water and some pain meds. Aunt Bel left it here just in case.
He doesn't need to be told twice as he took the pill, noting the bitter taste in his mouth. Pride be damned (ha! get it?), he just wants the pain to go away.
Charlie is still fussing and talking a million miles per hour and Lucifer doesn't have the heart to make her stop even though his head is about to split in half.
Maybe Charlie will forgive him if he snaps right now. Thankfully that doesn't happen as a new person comes to enter his room.
Alastor: Charlie, dear, I think your father would appreciate a quieter room.
Charlie: - Oh, Al! Right! Sorry, dad.
Lucifer: It's okay, applepie. Can you also dim the lights a bit?
Alastor: Charlie, might I ask of you to get food for your father? There should be some leftovers still.
Charlie: O-oh I- Sure, Al! Be right back, dad!
As soon as she left, Alastor moves to Lucifer's bedside. Lucifer follows his movements and only then does the King realize the insane amount of flowers taking up every space in his room. And then he realized that Alastor has some in his hands too.
Lucifer: What's all this?
Alastor: Why, tokens from your loved ones and dearest citizens. These ones are of mine.
The Radio Demon points at the golden Marigolds. Lucifer observes the other flowers and sees that every bunch has atleast a few Marigolds tucked in them.
Did.. did Alastor put them there so he could have the most flowers given? What a possessive bastard.
His endearment must be obvious in his face because Alastor huffed- freaking huffed!
Alastor: Whatever you are thinking, it is simply nonsense.
Lucifer puts his hands up in a mock surrender.
Lucifer: I didn't say anything.
Alastor: Good.
Alastor can be so cute when he wants (or not want?) to be. His lover? partner? Yeah, partner, sits down by his side, letting Lucifer lean onto his shoulder.
He's not soft like Lilith but Lucifer feels just as content. The sin of Pride stares at his arms that is now covered in runes he doesn't understand, no longer just plain black. Roo really did a number on him- her powers were far too strong it basically altered his appearance. He's more demon now than he was ever an angel. He doesn't know how to feel about that.
Alastor: Some things are to be discussed, right, Your Majesty?
Lucifer: Mmm. Yeah. But- I can't. Not right now. I'm not sure if I can.
Alastor: That's alright, mon ange. We are not in a hurry. We have our afterlife.
Lucifer bites his lip and holds Alastor's hands in guilt. This is a burden he must carry himself. What's inside him... it would be more dangerous if anyone else knew, especially Heaven. It's better to think of it as a wild card than a ticking time bomb.
Alastor hums a tune that makes him sleepy again. He doesn't remember falling asleep but he does vaguely recall being laid down again. He remembers a feeling of a kiss on his forehead, something brushing his cheek and moving his hair.
A nice calm before the storm.
---------------------------------------------------
Charlie took so long cos she wanted to heat it up but the microwave is missing?? (Alastor's doing)
Next chapter, Luci will wake again and have a talk with Charlie
Just wanted to get some Radioapple in there.

synopsis: what happens when the daughter of the CEO of a major film company and the son of the president of a successful food company move in next door?
episode 2: cats holding banners

(italic writing is yn's thoughts)
Taboba had been y/n's absolute favourite boba shop in Seoul, she first discovered it while she was studying abroad. Upon returning home she found out there was ONE outlet in Seoul, which was conveniently just a 10 minute drive from her parents house. But, they were closing down and she was moving to a different part of Seoul, half an hour away from the shop.
Growing up as the daughter of a big-shot movie producer, she was privileged enough to live in one of the expensive neighbourhoods of Seoul, in a big house over-looking the Han river. And though it was true that she was to eventually take over the company her parents wanted her to pave her own way and make her own name in the industry. Granted her heritage would certainly give her a boost in popularity.
She decided one of the first steps to make her own way would be to move into her own space and live by herself. So with the help of friends and family she chose a penthouse apartment for herself in Gangam and bought it (cus wth is rent when ur rich). But thats all irrelevant right now because she's not moving there for another week. Right now what's important is that she just parked her car outside the new boba shop that opened near her new apartment.
Bobobble.
It's a cute name even she cant deny that. She hopes with every atom of her body that the boba is good too. It was also owned by SeoulFoods, a company that sponsored most of SilverWoods' shows and movies, and also catered for their events.
The issue isn't bad boba, the issue is being as good as or topping taboba boba.
Stepping inside, the cafe looked like any other, it was simple, with mood lighting, wooden floors and comfy looking leather seats. But there was one recurring theme. Cats. It wasn't a cat cafe, yet, cute pictures of cats doing stupid things were hung up on the walls, the bookshelf was shaped like a cat, the little plant pots on the table were cats that looked like they had leaves growing out of their heads. Overall, a-lot of cats.
Y/N made her way to the counter and luckily didn't have to wait too long considering it was 11 AM and everyone was either at work or at school, no long lines. She greeted the barista and placed her order, payed for her drink and then chose a table by the window. Good for working and people watching.
Y/n's first mistake today was forgetting her laptop charger at home, but she was already on the highway when she realised and couldn't turn back even if she wanted. Now the question was if her laptop was already charged or if she would open it and it would die in the middle of her editing a scene.
79%. Not bad, good enough to edit at least one scene. She started opening the softwares she needed to work and got started.
Soon enough her drink arrived, paired with a slice of cheesecake. Wait... Cheesecake? YN hadn't ordered any. Her original plan had been to have her drink and order a sandwich if she got hungry a while into working.
Maybe I should ask the server. Luckily for her he was walking by after serving another order.
"Um, excuse me?" She called out.
"Yes, ma'am"
"Uh, I only ordered a drink, i was served cheesecake as well are you sure it isn't someone else's?"
"Ah, yes, it's on the house, our manager said there's a newcomer gift for today, and since it's your first time visiting Bobobble, you qualify for it!"
"Ohh, I see, well um thank you so much!"
"No, problem ma'am, enjoy your meal!"
Newcomer gifts huh? Lets hope this boba is also good because so far I'm liking this place.
YN reached for her cup of bubble tea and immediately noticed logo. A cat holding a banner that said bobobble. Omg cute pls be good i want to come back here.
Bringing the straw to her lips, she took and sip and...
"Holy shit" She whispered to herself.
Looks like bobobble just gained a new and very loyal customer.
In the break room, a barista sat with their phone in front of them, voice recording app open.
"Dear diary, today the owners son Taesan came to overlook the store. He's a chill guy around my age but he's generally pretty quiet. Anyways, around 11 AM a girl walked in with her laptop bag and stuff, she ordered her drink and sat down then started working on whatever it was that she was working on, she was pretty nice but thats not the point
"the issue here is that when i was going to serve her drink, Taesan told me to take some cheesecake for her and tell her it was on the house as a welcome gift for her first time here. I didnt know we were doing one of those so it was news to me but i didn't question it.
"HOWEVER, later another girl came in and i had never seen her before so as i was taking a slice of free cheesecake out for her Taesan stopped me and said he changed his mind? so no more free cheesecake for new people? idk man. my guess is that he thought the other girl was cute. ig we'll just have to wait and see, anyways my break is ending so ill finish this at night when im home"
a/n: pls tell me yall got the chenle reference w the "whats rent when ur rich"
and special thank you to @taesancore for reading it for me before i posted to help me figure stuff out.

Murder Au: The Surprise Visit
Henry Jekyll put down the papers in his hand and once more glanced at the grandfather clock in his office. The hands read a quarter to 11. Henry let out a deep sigh and turned his focus back on the papers on his desk. As he was trying to focus on his work, he heard an all too familiar groan coming from the mirror near the curtains. "Would ye stop acting so morose." Edward Hyde, his other half complained. Henry gave his reflection a hard, annoyed stare. "Aren't you the one who enjoys seeing me suffer?" Henry asked with a snarky tone. "Ah only enjoy seeing ye glum when ah cause it. It's boring when there is another issue that ye are worried about." Hyde retorted as he folded his arms with a huff. Henry rolled his eyes, ignoring his counterpart as he returned back to his work. Hyde frowned at this. "Why are ye even being so gloomy? Chubby Cheeks ain't here and ye are acting like the Society's been shut down." Henry turned his head back around and gave a glare at his counterpart. "I am concerned for good reason Hyde. It's nearly been an hour and Robert still hasn't shown up for our weekly financial discussions." Robert Lanyon was supposed to meet Henry at a quarter to 10 where they would enjoy a small breakfast while discussing the future and current finances of the Society. Henry wasn't immediately worried a few minutes after Robert hadn't shown up at the agreed time. He assumed his co-found might have had a slight delay in coming here. It would sometimes happen in the busy streets of London. Henry did become increasingly worried when Robert hadn't shown up after 30 minutes. Henry did eat some of his breakfast that Rachel prepared, he then asked his day manager to stay downstairs and alert if him Robert should stop by. Rachel agreed and Henry decided to tackle some paperwork while he waited. Unfortunately it was another 30 minutes that had passed and still no sign of his cherished friend. Henry's face morphed into a frown as he abandoned his paperwork and elected to stare at the clock. "It isn't like Robert to be this late and not send some type of notice ahead to indicate a reason for his long delay." Henry said aloud. "Lanyon is probably held up because of some stupid stuffy reason or another." Hyde commented. His smile then grew wide and his face morphed into a malicious expression as a thought popped into his wicked head. "Or maybe, Chubby Cheeks got sick and tired of this place and ye. He called it quits and decided he doesn't want anything more to do with ye and the Society." Hyde cackled at his evil theory. Henry turned his head to glare hard at Edward. "Even if Robert quit, he would still have informed me beforehand. He knows how to give notice about such matters." He snapped back. "Ye didn't disagree with me there, doctor." Hyde taunted with a maddening grin. Henry was going to go back to ignoring his other half when he heard a knock on the door, surprising but not unwelcome. "Come in." Henry called out. The door opened and Rachel, the Society's cook and day manager, peered in. "Rachel. Has Robert arrived?" Henry asked, feeling hopeful. Rachel shook her head. "No. Actually, I came up here because Sergeant Brokenshire is downstairs. He says he's here on important matters." Rachel replied. Henry noticed that the young maid had a slight look of confusion on her face. He merely chalked it off to her surprise at Brokenshire's unexpected visit. "Alright. I'll be down there soon enough." Henry exclaimed. Rachel nodded and closed the door, leaving the split man alone with his other half, not that she knew. "What the bloody hell is that peeler doin er'e? Ah ain't done nothing to warrant the coppers on me back, and ye haven't let me out much since the fire." Hyde complained with anger and annoyance. Henry frowned. He too was nervous about Sergeant Brokenshire's sudden appearance. He hoped none of his lodgers were in trouble and that he wasn't here to ask more questions on the whereabouts of Edward Hyde.

I Miss You Simon (Pt 2.)
Warnings: Choking, slight degrading
Pairings: Simon Riley x f!reader
You wake up and look at your phone through squinted eyes. “Ah fuck thats too bright.” You say as you immediately turn your phone brightness down. You look at the time and see it reads 10:35AM. You remember staying up last night being on the phone with Simon for over an hour then you recall him saying he would be home today. “Oh…OH NO” You get up in a hurry to take a quick shower because he said he would be back around 11 or so. You rush into the bathroom grabbing a quick change of clothes to get out of the lingerie you were wearing last night for him. As you toss it onto the tile floor and hop in the shower it actually hits you that he will be home in like 30 minutes. You can only imagine what hes going to do when he gets here. You smile to yourself as you wash your hair with a nice smelling floral shampoo and conditioner. You get out of the shower not even 10 minutes after getting in and get into some clean clothes. Just a tanktop with a pair of pants.
You go into the kitchen to turn on the tea kettle so Simon can have some hot tea when he gets in. You know its his favorite. As you are making an egg and cheese biscuit for breakfast you hear the latch on the front door and heavy footsteps walk into the house. You look around the corner of the kitchen wall and see Simon putting his bag down.
“Darling! Im home!” You run up to him and give him a big hug to which he picks you up and throws you over his shoulder and walks into the bedroom. He still has all of his gear on, his mask, his vest, his boots, everything. “I missed you so much Simon!” You say with a giggle and a smile. “I missed you too darling” he says while leaning down to wrap his arms around you in a warm embrace. He walks into the bathroom and comes out a couple minutes later with the lingerie that you were wearing for him last night.
“Put it on.” He demands. You grab it from him and start putting it on like he ordered.
“Yes sir.” You change in front of him and grabs the front of his pants to adjust his hardening cock you would assume.
“‘Atta good girl.” He picks you up by the hips and puts you on the edge of the bed and unzips his pants. He grabs the lace lingerie with each hand and rips it with ease. You smirk knowing how badly hes been waiting for this at least sense last night. You look down at him and see his erect cock slick with his precum. Before you could even think he grabs your thighs and pulls you up onto his cock with a growl escaping his lips underneath his mask. “Uugh Fuck..” Simon says as you roll your eyes back and close them letting out a moan yourself.
He puts one hand around your throat and one grabbing your hip as he continues to thrust into you. “S…Simon im going to c…cum!” You say between breaths as you hold onto his big muscular forearm. Don’t.. I’m not finished with you yet.” He says between his teeth. Your back arches off of the bed and he lets out a little chuckle as he looks down at your now dripping cunt. “Oh you just couldn’t wait could ya?”
Simon releases the hold he has on your throat and takes off his mask but continues to keep his pace. “Goddamn you’re such a needy bitch fa me” He starts fucking you harder and faster and you know hes about to reach his climax but you are too..again. You feel his grip tighten on your hips and you just know you’re going to have bruises on them later today. All of a sudden his hot sticky seed starts dripping out of your pussy and down between your legs as you cum at the same time. Simon slowly pulls out of you and zips his pants back up.
“And thats for teasing me last night sweetheart.” He says with a grin.
“Well maybe I should tease you more often”

Hidden's Life
Hi guys, I started writing a journal on my computer, as typing is a lot faster than pen and paper. I am sharing my first entry.
Content warning: It's about the "should I have a kid" debate, and it's way more political than what I usually post on my digimon blog. It gets into climate change, the financial and emotional cost of child rearing, and is leftist in tone. I am really struggling with this topic, and I welcome input and conversations. If you want to talk about it and we're pals on Discord, please do! I want to hear from as many people as possible.
The tone is bleak, but in a matter-of-fact way, if that makes sense?
So, I took a two week vacation. I was in Vegas for a few days for the first time, then in a cabin on a river. I’m not going to talk about that much here. Instead, I’m going to focus on life.
Whenever I have a few days off in a row with no plans (which is rare), I like to touch base with myself on where I am in life. I guess that’s what I’m doing here.
I will say that I’m feeling a lot more rested/restored by this vacation than I have been from my vacations over the last few years. Travel takes a ton out of me, and I’m sensitive to time zone changes and general shifts in routine. I’m surrounded by career scientists, many without children (aka people with money to travel), so it’s common to feel like I’m “missing out” or “doing it wrong” if I’m not visiting 1-3 international spots per year. It turns out that. Um. I actually really like the river cabin. Japan last year was amazing, but I came back jet lagged, exhausted, sick, and with a foot injury from power walking for 10-14 hours per day for 2 weeks. More chill domestic vacations may be the way.
But anyway, I wanted to write down my thoughts on the future.
I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned it here, so pardon me if I have, but… I’ve been dating my husband since we were 14, and we’ve been married for 11 years, together for 21. For nearly two decades, whenever I asked about children, my husband would shrug and say, “Maybe someday.” This year, for the first time, his answer changed to, “I’d like one child, but I’m not sure if it’s ethical.”
As for me, I’ve never been hit with maternal desire. In my early twenties, I assumed I’d marry my now husband, have kids, and be a stay at home parent. I’m not sure… Why I thought that? Other than that I have no career ambition, and my husband was raised by a stay at home parent. It feels a bit weird to say I lack ambition when I’m a career scientist, but it’s true. I just want to get the most money with the least effort and damage to my physical and mental health. I feel, on some level, I’ve been waiting my whole life for some kind of purpose or desire, but these days… I’m beginning to understand that wanting health and happiness is an amazing goal, and that humans aren’t necessarily meant to find fulfillment from our work. It’s okay if family is your goal! It’s okay if being a hobbit is your goal (being comfy, reading books, taking walks, etc)!
I got my first job when I was 15, I had to get my mom to sign a permission form, lol. I saved all my money and invested it as best I could, which was CDs (at the time they had like a 5% return, and as a teenager I did not really understand investing- that kinda remains true). My mom warned me from early on that she had no money to help me, and my father openly gloated about not being financially responsible for me soon. Like, he’d count down and update me every now and then- only five years until you aren’t my problem anymore, girl! Four years, three, two, one. He apparently still doesn’t understand why I went no contact with him.
I’ve never been laid off or between jobs, just. Working and preparing for a future where I was financially independent since I was 15. So again I wonder. Why??? I thought I would be a stay at home parent, lol! My husband is extremely intelligent, and he graduated straight into a programming job that pays more than I will ever make, so that might have been part of it. But when I got my new job 2 years ago, my package became competitive enough that I now actually… Have a career to lose.
What I’m trying to say here is that I feel conflicted about… everything. Why am I in this job that I don’t like, but I excel at and it pays fairly (or at least, it does since the new job two years ago)? Am I going to do this until I’m in my 60s because capitalism? Do I want a kid? Shouldn’t I know if I want a kid? But then, I can barely scrape together the brain juice to decide what I want for dinner most nights, after spending 8 hrs working and 90 min commuting. Is it any wonder I can’t bring myself to figure out if I want huge life changes or not?
Financially, my husband and I are doing well. We have a house, retirement savings, and we can afford our expenses on my husband’s salary alone. Mine is called upon for things we want, like getting a working shower in the master bathroom this year and the laundry list of smaller home improvements we paid for last year. But when you have a house, there is always more to do. Our roof is probably original to the house, which is 36. If I want our fireplace to work, that will cost at least a few grand. Our heater is too small for the house; if we want to use our finished basement more, we need to replace it with an appropriately sized one.
If I quit now, it will be difficult or impossible to do those things (and by the way, I feel like wanting a correct sized heater, a working master shower, a working fireplace, and a safe roof are not, like, super bougie??? God damn shit’s expensive). (And by the way, I'm aware that HAVING these problems is a privilege, and that is INSANE to me). If I wait too much longer, I’ll be unable to deliver a healthy baby (I’m 35). But if I’m going to have a baby, just one baby, then I want to spend time with them.
Meanwhile, there’s the ethical questions. I’ve searched online for: Is it ethical to have a child during the climate crisis? Interestingly, the hits were mostly about the impact each individual human has on emissions and climate change. Listen, sure, if you really want to be conscientious about it, don’t have more than 2 kids, which keeps your family’s population steady at the micro level. But damn, don’t be guilted out of a family, a totally normal thing, while a few corporations destroy the world for profit and tell you to have fewer babies. God damn! The mythos of the individual’s impact on climate change while companies burn fossil fuels for funsies is some high level con work, holy shit.
I’m not worried about my theoretical kid’s carbon footprint. No man, I’m worried about them having access to clean water, reliable power, food, medicine, and places to live that aren’t storm riddled, underwater, on fire, etc. Oh, and clean air. People who are sensitive to air born pollutants are already dying prematurely, and have been for years. The idea that people think climate change is something you “believe in” like fucking Santa Claus is absolute insanity to me. People are already dying, my brother in Christ.
So like, do I raise and rear this child to die early or have poor quality of life starting now, and rapidly declining? True, humans have literally always faced pressures: plague, economic strife, war, the threat of nuclear fallout, etc. We have babies anyway, partially because we don’t all have education and access to reproductive care, but also because having families is just. A totally normal desire, as is not having them! Having them does have an additional biological push behind it; organisms tend to feel reproductive pressure. It’s evolution’s super fun gift (/sarcasm)! In some ways, having kids feels almost necessary, as it makes people feel hope and desire for a better future. But there must be millions of kiddos existing now, and we’re not doing much to make the world more habitable for them on a global scale.
I want to take a moment to clarify that I am not judging anyone for having children. We should be able to have families. It’s insane that we’re facing these pressures, that so little is being done about it. But as someone who does not have any yet, I find myself grappling with these questions.
So yeah. A.) I’m not sure if I want kids, and my lifestyle does not allow much time or space for reflection. B.) I’m not sure if having children is ethical in the year of our lord 2024. C.) As much as I dislike work, I’m not sure if not working is right for me, either. It’s easy to fall into mental health issues without a structured routine. D.) I have a strong desire for financial security, and it was beaten into me from as far back as I can remember. What will the loss of my income do to my mental health? E.) While we can afford our needs on my husband’s salary, relying on one income is always precarious. Layoffs are a constant threat in tech, and injury, mental health crises, and death can come for anyone. F.) When I was in therapy, my therapist specifically advised me not to stop working and rely on my spouse’s income. I know this is good advice for women, lol! Like, truly, I do get it. My therapist knows about my drive for financial security and my strong support for women. I can say, though, that in 21 years with my husband, he’s never given me reason to doubt him. Not once.
I guess that brings me to another fear of having a kid. Obviously I’m terrified of pregnancy and childbirth, and my country has the worst maternal death rate of the developed world (like… by a long shot). I’m already unhappy with my body and my energy levels; bearing and raising a baby is not. Going. To help. But I’m also worried about the division of labor that goes into childrearing. I’m told Millenial men have made huge strides in combating the deadbeat dad. But when I grew up, every family I knew was held together by the mother. My father worked. He did not do anything else. He didn’t cook, clean, play with or watch the kids, do yard work, make doctor appointments, meet with teachers, shop for the family, chauffeur the kids around, any of it. He didn’t even buy Christmas presents for his own parents, my mom had to do that for him. Most of the households I visited seemed to function the same way. I know my husband wouldn’t do that; hell, as it is, he does more than I do, often in the 90 min per day that I spend commuting. But my understanding is that, when it comes to raising kids, women still take on more of the work on average. And I’m not even sure if I want one, lol!
And the other huge concern is the political scene. If Trump wins in November, or just… Idk, stages a coup or whatever, I… Probably won’t reproduce. As I understand, his proposed administration/Project 2025 is looking to defund public education, continue destroying the planet for the profit of a few people, and generally dismantle everything. I don’t think the country would recover within my childbearing years.
Basically, I don’t know what the hell I want. I suppose I can get another job if I lost the one I have, although I’m told competition is stiff. Once you have a baby, though, you uh… You have a kid, lmao! I admit that I’ve spent a lot of time trying to figure out why one would want a baby. The ‘ol pro/con list isn’t looking too great! Like, babies, okay? The good things (in my mind): as we age, we lose more people. It’s common and understandable to want more people to call your own, especially as we age and as life pulls us further apart from people we knew when we were younger. Some people experience reproductive drives, so there is a driving force. Cons: Pregnancy is body altering and life endangering, children produce a horrific and varied array of fluids, they’re sick all the time and make their parents sick too, daycare costs are a second mortgage for five years in my area, taking them to and from daycare and school around work is next to impossible, they make noises and run around (aka, incompatible with my stimulus issues), and I personally don’t have fond childhood memories or warm feelings about family, thanks to my own difficult upbringing.
This is one of those decisions that doesn’t logic on paper. I’m sure most people would say, “Oh, you don’t use logic for this sort of thing!” But then, like. Uh. What are you doing? I have a coworker who is maybe 15 years older than me who talked to me about people my age not having kids (uninvited, I might add, lmao). She was like, whenever I ask someone your age, they give me all these reasons about money and daycare and the difficulties of navigating work around a family where both parents have full time jobs. You just make it work! You’ll figure it out!
And I remember thinking, Ma’am, your youngest is 12. Daycare didn’t cost $2,000-2,400 per month per kid back then, and mortgages and rent were less. Like, sure, yeah, I’ll just have a kid and feed them hopes and dreams, no problem! Mm, delicious.
I don’t know, man. Sometimes I think about all the folks who will never have kids because they can’t afford them, and I feel so enraged. Or the rising infertility rates as our environment and foods become less healthy and our stress increases. Or I think about the people who have kids but can rarely spend time with them (and desperately want to) because they are trying to get the money they need to take care of them. And then there’s people like me, who are so goddamned tired and overwhelmed by their job that they have no brain space to even… Like… Figure out if they want a kid!
Well, there will be no changes until I see how the election and the possible coup go, so I need to put this down for now.
What a fun sentence.

Sleepover
Emily Prentiss X reader.
You and Emily start cuddling to help each other sleep on away cases. It's probably not the best idea when you're both hiding feelings for the other.
Part 1/?
Not edited, and posted from mobile :/
/ Wednesday 7th, 11:55 pm. Seattle. /
You stand with the team watching Hotch talk with the motel receptionist. You can tell from the way she doesn't quite meet Hotch's eyes that you're not getting as many rooms as he's asking for.
You've been with the BAU for 6 months now and have managed to avoid sharing a room on non-local cases up until now.
Hotch takes the offered keycards from the receptionist, and heads back over to the team.
"We got two shared rooms, any volunteers?" He says.
You shrug, "I'll share," it's 5 to midnight and you know you won't be spending that much time at the hotel while you're on the case anyway, so you may as well try and get into a bed quickly.
Emily nods, "I'll room with Agent Y/N."
Hotch hands you each a key marked for room 305 and waits for anyone else to volunteer.
After a moment of silence, Hotch sighs, "Okay, Morgan and Reid; you're sharing too. Everybody get some rest, we'll meet back here at 8am."
You see Rossi and JJ both silently cheer and thank Hotch as they grab their keycards and run off like they're worried Hotch will change his mind.
Emily laughs as Morgan grumbles under his breath as he takes the other matching keycards from Hotch.
"Please, no podcasts tonight." He begs Reid and they walk off towards the elevator with Hotch.
It's just you and Emily left in the small reception area, you quickly look at her then dart your eyes to the stairwell, already starting to move when you challenge her, "Race you?"
You don't stick around to hear her reply, but you can hear her footsteps right behind you as you race up the stairwell.
You're at the door first, but the lock refuses to accept your card and Emily smirks as she unlocks the door on the first try.
"I guess we'll call it a tie?" She suggests, laughing as she drops her go-bag on the bed closest to the window.
You both go about your routines, getting ready for bed silently and whisper your "Goodnights" into the darkness.
/ Thursday 8th, 1:30am /
You turn again, bury your head in the pillow and try not to scream.
You've been trying to fall asleep for over an hour now, and everytime you feel you might be close you jolt awake.
"Trouble sleeping?" Emily asks.
You mumble, "I'm used to a weighted blanket at home, just need to adjust."
You can hear her shuffle about in her bed, before she speaks, "Come over here. Bring your bedding, I'm the big spoon." Emily's voice has a finality to it, and you know she'll just insist if you argue so you sigh and throw your pillow at her, dragging your blanket behind you.
She pulls you to lay next to her, covering you both with the blankets and shifting until she's comfortably pressed against your back.
"Sleep now," She says, throwing her arm around your stomach.
After barely 10 minutes you feel her breathing even out on the back of your neck, and you relax fully against her and fall asleep.
/ 6:40am /
You wake up slowly, warm, minutes before your alarms due to sound off. You and Emily must have both moved around in your sleep, instead of spooning you, she's now on her back with you cuddling her side like a baby koala. You have one leg thrown over her hips and your head is buried in the crook of her neck, you wish you weren't just cuddling as friends or co-workers, you want to wake up with the casual intimacy of nosing along her jawbone, trailing kisses along her skin until she stirs.
Instead, you gently nudge her shoulder, sneak in a quick boop to her nose, "Em, you might wanna wake up soon."
She mumbles something, you're not sure it's English, and pulls herself up to rest on her elbows.
"I think I know what 'well rested' means now, that's the best I've ever slept." Emily sounds surprised, and you hum.
"Maybe we should cuddle more often," you joke.
"I might take you up on that, seriously I don't even think I need coffee this morning."
"That's a shame, I was going to shout you for getting me to sleep last night."
"I said I don't need coffee, not that I didn't want it." She pouts, you pull yourself away and out of bed to where your go-bag ended up and fish your wallet out, throw it towards Emily's bed.
"3 sugars with milk please? I'm gonna grab a quick shower."
You shower quickly, just finishing up when you hear Emily come back in the room. You dry and dress quickly, heading back into the main room.
Emily hands you a coffee cup and small brown paper bag, "I brought you a crossant too."
You thank her and both of you sit at the small coffee table, flicking through the case file and sharing some thoughts while you eat.
At 7:30 Emily crumples her cardboard coffee cup and sighs, "I'll shower and we'll head down to the lobby."
"Sounds good," you nod.
/ 8am /
Emily and yourself are the first to reach the lobby, with Morgan and Reid close behind, playfully arguing with each other as they exit the elevator.
"How and why do you two look so awake and alert?" Morgan asks.
You laugh, "We didn't room with Reid," and Emily makes a mock snoring sound.
You, Morgan and Emily all laugh while Spencer glares. Hotch, Rossi and JJ exit the elevator together and everyone stands up a little straighter, ready to receive your assignments and head down to the precinct.
Hotch clears his throat, "Reid and Y/L/N you'll head to the precinct and meet with Detective Babineaux, he'll show you where we can set up a workspace. Prentiss and Rossi, go down to the mourge and see M.E Chakrabarti and the two victims' bodies. JJ, Morgan, you're with me, we're speaking to the victims' families."
Everyone nods along as he speaks, and you break off into your groups. Since the Medical Examiner's office is part of the precinct, you, Reid, Rossi and Emily share an SUV.
All thoughts of sharing a bed with Emily again are gone from your mind as you focus entirely on the cases, reading over Reid's notes while Emily drives.

Goals for This Week (10/28 - 11/1/2024)
Hi, all,
I haven't done a weekly goal post in like three weeks. Sorry. Things have been weird for me. I thought I should bring them back!
I know it's Tuesday, so not exactly the beginning of the week, but bare with. Hopefully next week we'll be back to our regular schedule.
Academic Goals:
This week's goals are to: finish up my English essay, study for my physics exam, and study for my ochem exam. Also, I'd like to start looking into doctors to shadow for some good med school hours. On the same note: I want to start dedicating more time to my research lab.
Fitness Goals:
My fitness goals are pretty much the same as always. I've been doing pretty good with consistency. People have been pointing out my muscle gains which honestly, feels really good. I'm going to keep with my 4 day split with 30 minutes of cardio everyday. My cardio of choice is usually just walking around campus after my day, but I'm on like my 4th or 5th week of cycling class, and I love it so much. It's genuinely one of the highlights of my week.
I fell off the horse a bit, unfortunately. :/ I was doing everything that I technically needed done, but I wasn't really putting all that much effort into it, and I don't like when I do that. It feels like a chore, and I don't like when my education feels that way. I love what I'm studying, you know, but I guess I just got a little burned out.
I don't really talk about it, but I've changed a lot since around the time I started this blog. I've become a lot more productive, and less depressed, but sometimes I still feel like I could be doing more, and I guess that's how I've been feeling. But instead of doing more, I kinda just sulked. Yeah. Thought I would just be honest. I don't want y'all to get the impression that I'm this oh-so-perfect student who never has a bad day and who just studies studies studies. No. I have to mentally work myself up to that. Maybe I'll write more about that soon. I know I haven't really been doing a good job at updating you guys and stuff... like my winter arc. Sorry! I'll try.
Hope all is well!
Thanks for reading,
-C
