Hi gaymers happy pride month!
If you're interested in supporting queer artists/designers this month, especially if you're looking for cool patterns to sew your own stuff, I humbly request you check out my sister's work.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everyone in my family has been using bags she's made. My parents have matching shoulder bags from her that they use every day, and she made my dice bag + all of my art supply bags as well. So I can vouch for her stuff being great quality!
She's also got cute animal hand warmers:

I think she'll mostly be selling patterns but will have a few bags and such for sale also.
If you want to follow her making-stuff-for-etsy progress, her instagram is make.it.gemtea, and her etsy is bucketproject (unpopulated until the 17th)

Women gain strength at the same relative rate as men with proper resistance training. Testosterone does increase a person's baseline amount of muscle, but at a high level of training women are still about 70% as strong as men. In fact, a woman broke a few all-gender world records in powerlifting for her weight class (she was definitely roiding, but then again, we can generally assume all the men there do too. Make of it what you will).
Anecdotally, before I started medically transitioning, back when I was presumably biologically indistinguishable from a cis woman, it only took a couple years of proper strength training to go from "weaker than average by female standards" to "regularly out-lifting men at my local gym despite being much smaller than them." This was after I switched from machines/high-rep hand weights/bodyweight exercises (which do basically nothing by themselves) to heavy compound barbell lifts.
Nowadays, when I go to a busy gym, I frequently see men training for strength and size, and women doing the fairly ineffectual lighter weight exercises. And that's only looking at people who actually made it to the gym--there are always more men than women there. So yeah, I think the "gendered strength gap" is mostly socially engineered.
“If a society puts half its children into short skirts and warns them not to move in ways that reveal their panties, while putting the other half into jeans and overalls and encouraging them to climb trees, play ball, and participate in other vigorous outdoor games; if later, during adolescence, the children who have been wearing trousers are urged to “eat like growing boys,” while the children in skirts are warned to watch their weight and not get fat; if the half in jeans runs around in sneakers or boots, while the half in skirts totters about on spike heels, then these two groups of people will be biologically as well as socially different. Their muscles will be different, as will their reflexes, posture, arms, legs and feet, hand-eye coordination, and so on. Similarly, people who spend eight hours a day in an office working at a typewriter or a visual display terminal will be biologically different from those who work on construction jobs. There is no way to sort the biological and social components that produce these differences. We cannot sort nature from nurture when we confront group differences in societies in which people from different races, classes, and sexes do not have equal access to resources and power, and therefore live in different environments. Sex-typed generalizations, such as that men are heavier, taller, or stronger than women, obscure the diversity among women and among men and the extensive overlaps between them… Most women and men fall within the same range of heights, weights, and strengths, three variables that depend a great deal on how we have grown up and live. We all know that first-generation Americans, on average, are taller than their immigrant parents and that men who do physical labor, on average, are stronger than male college professors. But we forget to look for the obvious reasons for differences when confronted with assertions like ‘Men are stronger than women.’ We should be asking: ‘Which men?’ and ‘What do they do?’ There may be biologically based average differences between women and men, but these are interwoven with a host of social differences from which we cannot disentangle them.”

Tumblr booted me as I was answering this - tl;dr ignoring the storyline and doing napkin math, she’s over 700 years old
Wizards canonically age differently than we do. According to a forum post staff made, Ambrose is at least 2000 years old (likely older, but 2000 minimum, and it’s a nice round number so I’m using it) and in our terms he’s approximately the equivalent of a 90 year old.
Morganthe’s visual design is heavily based on her voice actor Lilas Lane (they really do look the same) who would have been about 45 years old when Khrysalis came out in 2013. But Lilas Lane has aged very well, and I always saw Morganthe as the equivalent of a 35 year old in Khrys, so for the sake of the conservative estimate I’ll use 35
So if you scale wizards’ ages to ours (I’ll admit this is making a lot of assumptions but we don’t have a lot to go on here), the most conservative estimate you’d get of her age, assuming Ambrose is 2000 years old and the equivalent of 90-100, and that Morganthe is the equivalent of 35, is… 700-780, approximately. This estimate goes up if you believe Ambrose is older (2000 years is how long he’s been studying magic, if he spent an equal amount of time goofing off who am I to judge?), or that Morganthe’s equivalent age is older/closer to Lilas Lane’s.
I always headcanon’d her to be around 500 actually, but “somewhere in her hundreds at least, but realistically not older than 1000” is as close to canon as you’re gonna get
wizard101 people - how old is morganthe?? i am unclear on this because how is it possible that she went to war with celestia centuries prior but also was young while artorious was king? is this a plothole or is there weird time-related fuckery going on that i'm not getting?

Reminder of a Starline themed BumbleKast Q&A where Ian Flynn as Starline talks about what he would have done with Sonic and Tails bodies after the events of Issue 50: [ Tw! Child Death + Taxidermy ]
Starline is such a genuinely terrifying character (who I miss everyday ahh) and his disregard for children and his willingness to mentally and physically manipulate them for his own evil purposes (especially in the context of this answer) is genuinely chilling. It’s something I think even Eggman would be semi disturbed by which is saying a lot.
The idea of him using Sonic and Tails preserved bodies as trophies and as an example to others is so insanely horrifying, and the “well then I’ll just have to start a gallery won’t I!” in response to the idea of other hero’s trying to rise up against him somehow finds a way to make it extra disturbing. The mental image of Amy, Knuckles and all their other friends seeing what Starline has done to the brothers… to their family 💔
The thought of Surge and Kit having a constant physical reminder of what they’ve done… that while Sonic and Tails may be out the way, the two unwilling doppelgangers will forever be in their shadow, unable to truly fill the roles they were forced into and the bond the brothers had. Them getting everything they thought they wanted, yet still feeling empty inside.
Long story short: Ian Flynn did not need to go this crazy with this answer but gosh am I glad he did.

Im so impatient for my chest to be healed
Like logically yes I know it’s been less than a month and healing from a major surgery takes time etc etc etc but also
1) i feel normal and fine i wanna go to the GYM my beloved gym. I was gazing longingly at the gym today as I walked by. I’m having barbell withdrawal. I keep spacing out fantasizing about bench press
2) my chest looks good and my brain keeps going “yeah it doesn’t hurt, so that means it’s healed. Take the wrap off.” I want to just wear a shirt with nothing under it and I want to move without restriction and i also kinda wanna roll in the dirt like a dog. It’s like the marshmallow test to me and I am barely holding on

the world is yours, literally 💭🎀🧁
so if you've been on this side of tumblr or any girly self improvement etc. side of social media, there's a high chance you've discovered the statement "you are the creator of your own reality" or "the world is yours" or something along those lines at some point. it sounds so far fetched when you first hear it, without any thought going into its true meaning, but the reason this is used so much is because it is true.
we are our lives. you are the world around you. everything in our lives is intrinsically entwined in ways we can't explain and the biggest connection out of all of them is us and life. it sounds obvious and self explanatory, sure, but when you think of it on a deeper level and dig into the complexity of the notion, like most things, you'll find it holds a lot stronger of a stance in your life.
have you ever noticed how so many metaphors for your life and bettering yourself reference and relate to nature and the world? "treat urself like garbage and the flies will come”, “water your own garden before anyone else’s”, “the darker the night, the brighter the stars”, “needing good roots to grow", they all relate to the sun and the sky and the sea and the world and the ground we stand on. they all relate to earth.
have you ever noticed how when people free themselves from bad situations, their reality and their world around them seems to get better too? how it seems to shift along with them?
because we are our world. every building we've built, every concept we've invented, every life we've created and every life we've lost, everything on this earth down to the last blade of grass was once nothing, but once we began to discover and create and flourish and bloom (see, the analogy still stands even there), the world grew along with us, and still is every day.
in truth, the world is in no set way, shape or form. it is not a singular entity. that's why your life can be remade and reshaped so easily within the blink of an eye (but that's for another time) because the world you know is solely your reality. that's the reason everybody has a different perception of you just as you do them, the reason why we have separate interests, conflicting outlooks, the list goes on.
the more we grow, so does our world, and our reality. you've seen how many people have changed and grown and gotten happier and healthier and only kept on going when they finally began to step up and better themselves, how their world changed along with them. because us and the world are one and the same.
the most important thing i'd like you to ask yourself is how do you treat the world? how do you view the world? and how do you treat and view yourself? are there any particular differences? similarities? anything that stands out? what is the world to you?
all my love... 💬🎀🫶🏻💗
