Introduce new AU (Stranger things or ST:))
Greetings, my dear visitor, if you are reading this, you are interested in what I have to tell here.
Well, yes, this is my own fnaf AU, inspired by the old Affinity AU from 2015-2016 by artist Mobox87, and the first four fnaf games.
Warning you that all characters are inspired by the old original designs from 2015-2016, in which I added a few of my own changes (a few because I am very attached to these old designs, also this is a tribute to the old AU Mobox and herself, no matter what kind of person she turned out to be).
Anyways, let's get started;)
Sooooo....
The time setting for AU takes place in 1985, around the time when Freddy Fazbear's Pizza was just starting its popularity in the small town of Hurricane, Utah. The place quickly gained popularity among kids thanks to its delicious pizza and singing, animatronic animals on stage that were adored by all kids. They're brought joy and laughter into children's lives, making it a place filled with daily frivolity and joy.
One of the security guards at the establishment with an ever-smiling face and angelic blue eyes, Vincent Bishop, became a close friend and companion to many children since their very first visit. This was largely due to his kind and understanding gaze, which made him a trustworthy and friendly figure for all the children. The man never hesitated to extend a helping hand to kids and did his best to see their faces light up with the same smile. He repaired broken arcade machines, assisted children who got lost inside, and even encouraged shy kids to gather the bravery to make new friends.
He had a special love and care for his beloved daughter, Brandy Bishop, who also adored visiting her dad at work, albeit not frequently...
Of all the animatronic performers, Brandy's favorite was Bonnie, the purple rabbit with a guitar in hands. The rabbit had captured girl's heart so much that she drew him everywhere — at home, at school, and even in the pizza place itself.
One day, she even attempted to speak with him...
Knowing of daughter's profound affection for the purple bunny mascot, Vincent gifted her a plush version of Bonnie on her 6th birthday. From that day, Brandy was inseparable from the plush toy and couldn't part with him even for a moment.
The girl's love for the purple animatronic bunny reached the point where any outfit her mom, Renata Bishop, sewed for her was either purple or adorned with images of the bunny.
Renata love her daughter so much and willing any of her wishes. However, she also knew when to be strict if Brandy misbehaved or took her makeup or dresses without permission.
The young girl always wants to be as beautiful as her mother.
Due to Rena taking on too much work and struggling to keep up with orders, they're rarely visited Freddy Fazbear's Pizza place together, despite Brandy's constant requests to go there...
One of the pizza joint's frequent visitors was Bart Bishop, Brandy's freckled, red-haired cousin.
Bart absolutely love this place and often hanging out along with his pals to see their favorite mascot, Foxy the Pirate, enjoy the pizza, play arcade games, and spend time with his unc, Vincent, who just happened to be his dad's younger brother.
Bart was a die-hard fan of Foxy's shows and never missed a single performance when visiting the establishment. He loved repeating each and every one of the sly fox-pirate's catchphrases and even emulated some of his habits.
He had an unwavering affinity for all things pirate-related.
Vincent was warm and responsive to Bart just like he do with all other kids. However, he could be stern when Bart misbehaved in the pizzeria, threatening to tell his dad, Scott Bishop, if he acted up.
Scott was the manager of the establishment and often swamped with paperwork and sorts of other administrative tasks. He is very concerned about losing his position, which he took immense pride in, and thus, often took on an excessive workload to preserve his reputation and maintain his standing in the eyes of his boss. As a result, he spent very little time with his own son due to his hectic schedule...
After the death of Margaret, his late wife, Scott was overwhelmed with grief and struggled with depression for some time, but he eventually managed to pick himself back up and refocus on his career and aspirations. However, his focus on work often meant that he overlooked his own son, almost forgetting about him at times. In an attempt to make amends, Scott allows Barty to visit the restaurant almost daily, where he can enjoy free pizza and other free activities, leaving him under the watchful eye of Vincent.
....
°
°
°
Indeed, everything is splendid.
Everyone is happy, everyone feels just fine.
Isn't this what happiness is all about: having the people you love and cherish healthy and joyful, right?…
°
°

Well, I really hope that you will like it here and you will love this family just as much......

How did you envision 'slipping through my fingers' to work with Forgettable?? I LOVE LOVE LOVE that song and when i make the animatic thing of it I REALLY wanna do it justice
I might start rambling about this so I'll add a keep reading lol
OKAY SO I'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT THAT SONG FOR THIS AU FOR SOOOOOO LONG
Gonna use this as my chance to talk about it lol
Okay so, it's definitely from Sans POV!
The very first part could be about leaving for work, Wingdings is probably working from very early in the morning! Sans takes it more easy
and like "The feeling that I'm losing her forever. And without really entering her world" OH MY GOD THAT PART
IT WORKS SO WELL
He actually is losing him forever soon
Sans still doesn't fully understand what Wingdings thinks, which must be frustrating
"Slipping through my finger all the time" OUGHHH HE IS SLIPPING THROUGH HIS FINGERS
AND THEN "each time I think I'm close to knowing. She keeps on growing" Sans might think he's close to comprehending things, but Wingdings keeps changing and surprising him and it's at a faster pace everytime (until he's changed so much he's like a different person...and also at some point he becomes Papyrus, that also happens)
YOU GUYS HAVE TO UNDERSTAND,,, THEY'RE THE SAME AGE BUT SANS REALLY DOES SEE WINGDINGS AS HIS YOUNGER BROTHER,,,
I mean, he's always been taking care of him, helping him communicate, sticking with him through school, college, the lab
The fact that Dings is so far away from his grasp/understanding is AUGH
Why did I make this AU so self-indulgent, it is SO angsty in just the way that hits me hard LMAO Idk as someone with a little sibling, brother!Gaster hurts me more than father!Gaster
You've heard about monsters getting a sense of deja vu when seeing the human
Now ...what about Sans getting a sense of premonition about what's gonna happen?
This part would definitely be about their wish to be on the surface someday and all the other dreams they had
Some of them they did (getting that job at the lab), but most they didn't (seeing the real stars)
I envision this part as the last happy thing that happened before the incident! A little group photo! Wish you could freeze the picture? Wish things could stay this way forever? WELL, I'M SORRY BUT WE ALL KNOW THAT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN!
Time is about to play a very silly game! (also this is so fitting with Gaster doing weird time things, maybe he is the funny tricks of time)
I obviously can't say what the incident is or how it plays out... because... that would be a huge spoiler... to the people reading this, you'll need to use your imagination!
Then there's the whole guitar part! Love that part! I imagine in the animatic I'm gonna make about this someday that there will be a shot of Sans' arm trying to reach one last time... sigh... The day I finally make this animatic it will be amazing...
But I really can't rn because spoilers! THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU GUYS CAN'T TRY TO DO ONE I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THAT
Then we can have two, or more idk
OKAY! That last part of the song mirrors the first part of the song!
But this time!!!!! IT'S PAPYRUS!!! Leaving early In the morning for royal guard duties :D gotta calibrate those puzzles early!
AND THAT'S IT!!!!! obviously avoiding spoilers! but OH MY GOD
I SWEAR THIS SONG WAS ONE OF THE SONG THAT INSPIRED ME TO MAKE THIS AN ACTUAL COMIC BECAUSE I NEEDED TO MAKE THAT ANIMATIC AND FOR PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND UJFIEF
What a girl is willing to do just so people can understand her silly angst animatic c: a whole comic
#answered ask#I went a little crazy here#I REALLY need to open that discord server again aughhh#then you guys can ask me questions thereee#and I can use the rambling channel and ramble with u guys about songs that remind me of the AU lol#ANYWAYS I LOVE THIS SONG#I LOVE ABBA#I am NOT normal about this AU

what can you tell me about steve lol like what are some fun facts i should know? hehe ~rem
How long have you got?!
So, basics - Steve's birthday is 23rd April 1960. His middle name, Maynard, is from his Dad's favourite jazz musician. He grew up in the Hillsborough area of Sheffield, which is a suburb to the north west of the centre. He has two younger brothers. He left school at 16 and became an apprentice lathe operator at an engineering firm that made parts for trains.
He got his first guitar aged 11 and took classical guitar lessons for a few years (in the early days he was the only Leppard who could read music). His guitar inspirations were Jimmy Page, Brian Robertson, and Zal Cleminson. I don't have enough understanding of music to make my own assessment, but it's said he wrote things that were complex, emotional, and a bit unusual. He had zero interest in fast flashy playing. He wanted to write music for films and theatre.
He was interested in art (he liked to draw), history and archaeology, cars, and clothes (and he stole his girlfriend's clothes all the time). He liked dogs. His favourite colour was blue. He loved redheads.
Obviously, sadly, I never knew him, but what everyone says about him is that he was sweet, shy, kind, generous, funny, silly, intelligent, and thoughtful. But also insecure, stubborn, and moody (I won't start on his other issues because you said fun facts and they're definitely not fun!). Joe once described him as a total sweetheart, aww.
(No one is ever going to ask me a question again!)

Hello mx sun. So basically the kiyoteru lore is kiyoteru's backstory.
He is a grade 3 math teacher, who is also in a rock band. To my knowledge, he is the only vocaloid who is canonically catholic. He was adopted by a priest, hiyama kiyoshi (named after his voice provider). He plays the melodica. He has never felt the touch of a woman. He is weak to peer pressure. He has a shoe size.
In grade 3, he met his life-long best friend, hiyama akito (different kanji for hiyama). Akito has a father, a mother, an older sister, and a younger brother (all of whom have names). His parents are green grocers.
In elementary, he befriended the school janitor, and was given the janitor's old guitar when he graduated. The janitor used to be a famous guitarist. In high school, akito and kiyoteru started their band, ice mountain, with akito on guitar and kiyoteru on vocals. In college, they (separately) met hokaze natsuki.
Natsuki is trans, constantly misgendered, and mad about it. He has a father, a mother, a grandmother, and an older sister (all of whom have names). I'm serious his whole backstory is that he's trans and developed anger issues because he kept being teased. Eventually he started baking.
Natsuki met akito when akito (thinking he was a girl) tried to ask him out, and got traumatized for it (gah dam natsuki what did you do). Natsuki met kiyoteru in class, and kiyoteru recruited him for the band. Natsuki was deeply charmed by this nerdy math boy and agreed, until he learned that akito was in the band. Akito peer pressured him into keeping his promise to kiyoteru, and that's how natsuki became ice mountain's drummer.
Then akito's father got sick, so he started running the family business, and there were no band adventures.
Eventually, akito figured out his new work-life balance, natsuki opened his bakery, kiyoteru started teaching, and they restarted the band. Kiyoteru brought in two of his coworkers, azuchi tohma on bass, and amane haruto on keyboard.
Tohma, I'm sad to say, seems to have a complex with his cousin, who inspired him to play bass. He is kiyoteru's work bestie, and teaches science. Lots of people think of him as an unhygienic slacker guy, but he's not really a slacker. But like, it's a white shirt don't tell me you expect it to stay clean forever. That's the guy he is.
He was a rebellious kid, but then his cousin inspired him to be better, and then she started teaching him to play bass. He became a teacher because she told him he'd make a good teacher, but on the day he started his job, she told him she was getting married, and then he stopped playing bass. Until kiyoteru came into his life.
And yes, his parents and cousin all have names.
Haruto is blond, and both his parents are japanese. They took DNA tests, and they are 100% his biological parents, which I 100% do not believe. He also has a grandfather and a little sister (all four have names. I cannot begin to emphasize the amount of detail that went into this).
Haruto is a child prodigy who studied in America, but he still ended up teaching music to elementary students. His family is really rich too. He has a crush on natsuki. He can "perceive a person's true nature," but was intrigued by kiyoteru because he wasn't able to perceive his true nature??????? So what the hell is going on with kiyoteru?????????? Haruto's sister tried to tell kiyoteru's fortune once, but then her face turned pale and she stopped??????????
So yeah that's the extent of the detail put into kiyoteru's characterization. They gave backstories to his bandmates. It's insane. I am writing this completely from memory, because I often find myself going to the ice mountain page on the vocaloid wiki, thinking "can my tiny headcanon get confirmed or denied by the ice mountain backstory?" and without fail, it can.
And like. What the hell is the deal with kiyoteru??????? What's up with haruto and haruto's sister????????? Why did kiyoteru need to be catholic???????????? (I know in my heart the answer to that last one. It was because he's gay)
JESUS FUCK???? HOLY SHIT???? HOLY FUCKING SHIT???? GOOD LORD KIYOTERU OH MY GOD???? HELLO????
ABSOLUTE FUCKING ROLLERCOASTER THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TELLING ME

It's been a minute since I posted something so here's some cute head cannons for my favorite DSMP boys <3
Jschlatt
Okay so Jschlatt is 100000% a secret romance kinda guy. He loves the mystery and gets a thrill out of keeping a secret. He may seem like an open kinda person but when it comes to his s/o he likes to keep it private. That's probably why his fans and friends didn't know he had a partner until they got married
He used to be on a community baseball team and each game he would give you his hat to wear because he believed that you were his good luck charm. So when you were sick for the big game, he quit because he wouldn't have any luck and he would feel like the reason they lost.
He finds it adorable when he ends a late night stream and he crawls to the bedroom and finds you cuddled with Jambo.
He can't say no to you. Like at all. So when you ask to do his hair and makeup he agrees. He loved the way you looked so happy with your work and he wouldn't mind letting you do it again just to see you have a sense of accomplishment. Don't ask him about it though. He'll deny it.
Sapnap
Sapnap loveesssss to show you off. Like legit. In the group chat with the rest of the boys sap is constantly talking about you. They are tired of it
I believe he is a Pyro. Like anything and everything to do with fire and he's in so you constantly have to keep an eye on him. Granted he is very safe with fire but still. (Don't play with fire it's very dangerous)
He is actually very neat and organized. He has all of his and your clothes arranged in order of colors. In rainbow order of course. He also has the same hoodie in several different colors.
He gets frustrated easily so he is constantly doing things that he likes. One of those things is coloring. H loves to sit down with you and just be a kid again. You guys have a drawer in your room filled with kids coloring books and coloring supplies.
Karl
Karl loves when you play with his hair. Original I know. But it just makes him melt when you start to braid his hair or just testing new hair styles on him.
I believe that he loves being your Guinea pig for new recipes that you make if you like to cook. Anything you make for him is made from love. He genuinely almost cried when he was sick and he tried some of the soup you made and it tasted just like the soup his mom made him when he was younger
He lives to be around people. All day everyday it is energy but during the peaceful moments you guys go out and play mini golf or go to cafes to try new things. He loves your little adventures.
Karl adores playing games with you. His two loves in life are you and video games. He had you help him out with the tales of the SMP so it would be fun. It was actually inspired by a stupid convo you guys had over a dinner date.
Wilbur
Wilbur will absolutely sing you to sleep. Personally I have nightmares and I can certainly see him just being like "oh love, it's alright. Come here and just close your eyes." And he just hums and sings everything he lives about you while you fall back asleep
Every gig he doesn't with the band he has you in the front row or off to the side of the stage so when the band needs water, you can give it to them. Everyone loves you from the band and appreciates your company.
Tommy is like Wilburs younger brother. Everyone knows this. You are like the peace keeper between the two. They often squabble and when they do you grab one ear of each and make them apologize. They immediately do because they know if they don't they'll be put in the get along shirt.
Wilbur can be kinda insecure. He doesn't believe that he can be good enough for you so on those days you baby him. He taught you to play guitar so you sing to him. Even if you may not sound the best while singing, he enjoys the love that you both have.
Charlie
During days when he's doing chuckle sandwich he makes non stop dad jokes. Like it's bad. It's like it's his ritual to get ready. Like take his little book of jokes away from him.
He is a giant goofball all the time. He loves making people laugh and enjoys seeing you smile along at his dumb attempt of making a new language called "slimenican"
When he was doing gen loss you thought his slime monster character was just an evil version of his Minecraft character and picked on him for it. He didn't understand what you meant until he saw the first episode and then it clicked.

Beyond the Chaos: Monique Angele on Finding Bliss Through Music Dreaming by Monique Angele is a single that people should check out right away. She still has this unbelievable ability to convey the feeling of idling and daydreaming, which many of her illustrations depict. In this brand new piano-infused pop tune, Monique calls on everyone to take a break from their daily woes and escape into a calm daydream. Her ethereal voice complements those soft piano notes in such harmony. It’s charming, and rather mesmerizing – at least as much as this beautiful, operatic lullaby that plays to put you into a state of calmness. You can hear the classical influence within Monique, but at the same time, there is something almost almost naked within her music. Right from the pensive beginning with the piano, ‘Dreaming’ just envelops you in this warm, dreamy aura that builds into a grand orchestral piece. The music production is also very good, especially the harmonized vocals and the other elements such as the electric guitar and punchy beat. Monique recalled using her time in Australian as the basis for the carefree, sunny themes of the songs about the pleasure of the present. She said: ”This theme was supposed to be about daydreaming and just being so happy even when everything around is heavy and complicated. ” Does that sound more conversational and friendly?I attempted to bring up the musical and lyrical content more casually while still emphasizing the uniqueness of Monique’s skillset. Please just let me know if you would like me to adjust or lengthen the human-voiced take any more. Listen to Dreaming below https://open.spotify.com/track/52r6tMS3trBNED1K1RIbU3?si=7dab6bfaf7dd42ba Follow Monique Angele on Facebook Twitter Spotify Soundcloud Bandcamp Youtube Instagram Where do you find inspiration? I find inspiration in my own personal life experiences or other people’s experiences. Nature is also a big influence, whenever I’m on a hike or somewhere in nature I always get inspired to write. Seeing a live show, listening to music, and travelling are also big inspirations. What was the role of music in the early years of your life? Music was very important in the early years of my life. My family was always big supporters of music and got me into piano lessons as a kid. Are you from a musical or artistic family? Yes, I come from a musical and artistic family. Several family members have played musical instruments and my younger brother continues to write, perform and record his own original music. Several family members are also artists and writers. My older brother is also in the film industry. Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry? I think various musicians, bands and artists inspired me to pursue music. I started learning the piano as a kid and from there that’s when my musical education progressed. I started taking singing lessons years later. I’m classically trained in piano and singing. I’ve always been inspired by listening to musicians in any genre. Once I decided I wanted to study other genres like musical theatre, pop, rock, jazz, that’s when I realised I wanted to pursue writing my own music, recording and performing my original material. I would say that the main artist/band that inspired me to pursue my own original music was Queen. [caption id="attachment_55583" align="alignnone" width="1322"] I would say that the main artist/band that inspired me to pursue my own original music was Queen.[/caption] How did you learn to sing/write/to play? I started taking singing lessons when I was in university and from there I learned various styles of singing: opera, pop, rock, jazz, etc. I learned how to play piano when I was a kid and I’ve played ever since. I started to write my own songs when I was in University. What was the first concert that you ever went to and who did you see perform? I honestly can’t remember haha. But I’m pretty sure it would have been a classical music concert of some sort.
How could you describe your music? I would describe my music as operatic piano pop. It has pop and classical elements similar to Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Queen, Muse. It has melodic soaring vocals and a classical piano vibe. Describe your creative process. I usually write songs when I'm feeling some kind of emotion or need to release my feelings somehow. So I started to write about falling into a blissful state of mind when you feel overwhelmed. Whatever your blissful state of mind is, just go there and forget about your worries. What is your main inspiration? I would say my main inspiration is my life experiences, other people’s life experiences, world events and nature. What musician do you admire most and why? Freddie Mercury from Queen as he was an amazing performer and I love the music so much. Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career? Yes I think my style has evolved. I think I’ve learned how to create music without thinking too much and just letting things flow more organically. I would say my more current music is a bit more on the progressive pop side than my earlier works. Who do you see as your main competitor? I’ll be honest, I don’t feel like I compete with anyone and I don’t really see anyone as my main competitor. I just create things and hope it brings some kind of joy to people and makes people feel something. What are your interests outside of music? Being in nature - Exercise - hiking, running, swimming, dancing - Spending time with family and friends - Socializing and meeting new people - Seeing live shows or any art form - Traveling If it wasn't a music career, what would you be doing? A wildlife carer, environmental scientist or a conservation scientist. I just want to save the planet and wildlife. What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music? I have had some pretty crazy experiences where it really affected my physical and mental health in a negative way, however I'm a lot stronger for it now. I just keep going and follow my dreams. If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be? I’m not sure at the moment. https://open.spotify.com/artist/3jF2b7GszIw7QBtx4icjMu Why did you choose this as the title of this project? The inspiration behind my new single comes from daydreaming. The song is about going into a dreamlike blissful state of mind where there are no stresses at all. In a world where you are trying to find yourself and know what to do can be overwhelming. It's about following your dreams and heart and being where you want to be to make you happy. What are your plans for the coming months? I’ll be performing, writing and getting ready to record new music. I plan to release new music again in the not too distant future. Do you have any artistic collaboration plans I do have some plans in the works. What message would you like to give to your fans? Thank you so much for your amazing support for my music. I can’t thank you enough for all the love!

Indie 5-0: 5Q's with Animals In Denial
Introducing Animals In Denial, the visionary musical project led by Christian Imes.
A talented songwriter, producer and performer, Imes’ journey began at 14 when he picked up a guitar for the first time. From there, he went on a relentless path of exploring music and creativity. His self-taught approach led him to master not only the guitar, but also synthesisers, drums, and bass guitar.
In his personal studio, Imes is a musical powerhouse, crafting compositions that brim with emotion and authenticity.
Occasionally collaborating with his wife, Jeanine, Imes adds depth and dimension to his already multifaceted work. With over a dozen singles and four full-length albums released in 2016 alone, Animals In Denial captivates audiences with its diverse and emotive sound.
We caught up with the dynamic Christian Imes himself to find out more about his dedication and passion for creative music:
You've been dedicated to your music journey from a young age, starting with your first guitar at 14. How has your journey evolved from playing in local bands to creating your own music as Animals in Denial, and what drives your passion for music?
When I first started playing guitar, I had no ambitions to write anything. I simply wanted to be a guitar player in a band. Not even the lead guitarist, just one of them. There were several local bands not able to get out of the garage, or play more than a show or two without disintegrating. I also ran into the problem where we weren’t writing any original material, but rather just playing bad cover versions of songs.
When I started down the path of wanting to write original music, I had no ambitions to write anything on my own. I wanted to write as a band. All of the local bands that I played with, seemed to only want to play covers on the weekends, in whatever local bar we could. I remember trying to get everyone on board with saying “ok, that’s a cool beat, now let’s have the bass do this, and I’ll do this other part with a guitar.” Trying to wrangle songs out of these situations generally just got me standoffish attitudes, since I wasn’t a drummer, or bass player, etc, yet, so who was I to say what part should be played. This was a process that I attempted with three different local bands. The drummer in the last of those bands said he didn’t like being told what to play, and the bass player agreed with him. They were brothers, but this had also happened in the other bands I was in.
Not to be mean but we weren’t doing anything else, and I wanted to do more. I was ultimately asked to leave these situations. So, I looked around and thought of my heroes and said “well, if you claim to have so many ideas, then write them down.” That is what lead me into figuring out how I could make recordings, which is what led me into computers and synths.
Of those previous experiences, I joined the last of those bands when I was 16 and that was where I really got into synths. I responded to an add in the Mountain Express paper and met with a guy. He was a bit older than me, but he grew up in the synth heyday in the 80’s and exposed me to synthesizers and multitrack recording at home!
He gave me a cracked copy of acid pro 4 and I was off to the races. That copy of Acid Pro 4 was a huge upgrade from Sound Recorder and a massive leap over my Tascam 4-track. The first song I did was done in a car with a Gateway solo laptop. I remember being amazed at how powerful I felt knowing I could get sounds for and from any style and meld it into something cool. I wanted to make big alternative rock records, with artists and producers who I considered to be the greats, I wanted to make music videos, and take what inspired me and move the ball forward even if only a tiny bit. I wanted to make a difference somewhere to someone, as it was music that saved my life.
I have loved music since I was a little kid. I remember me and my younger sister would perform for people my mom would have over when I was about 7 or 8. We loved to sing and dance in front of people, and they always got into whatever it was. It made us feel great.
I recall sneaking to watch MTV and once, I had seen a music video from Smashing Pumpkins. I was around 9 or 10, at the time. Someone in my neighborhood had offered to give me his old cd since he had moved on to rap music. That copy of Siamese Dream I credit for the reason I literally didn’t kill myself as a kid in the mid-90’s, as my home life had disintegrated around me from drugs, death, and divorce by that point. I used to pray to God to just kill me because I was tired of suffering. That whole album from beginning to end let me feel things and made me feel like “This person gets it, he gets what I’m dealing with.” I never forgot that and someday I wanted to return the favor to someone out there that was staring into the abyss and needed to know that they weren’t alone. It made me feel like there was a reason for my suffering and that I could hopefully be that comfort for someone else. Music literally saved my life.
Your ability to play multiple instruments and program synthesizers is impressive. Could you share your process for self-teaching and expanding your musical abilities, and how does it influence your creative process as a musician?
When it comes to instrumentation, I play by ear and feel, so I tend to just get my hands on the instrument and start experimenting. Being that I started playing guitar pre-youtube and my mom barely could afford the guitar pack, lessons were out of the question, but the pack was a Squier Strat Pack and it was $250. I only got it after begging for two years because she got a child support back payment. So, what I did was I just used CD’s and tv commercials to learn how to play instruments. I would just sit with my guitar and listen to songs and just sound them out and so I learned how to play my entire music collection that way. When I wasn’t doing that I would watch tv and try to figure out the melodies from the commercials before they ended.
When I moved into synths and drums I focused with drums learning how to play to anything that Jimmy Chamberlin or Josh Freese were playing on. Synths was a bit different as I learned how to play keyboard, then I got into sound design, which the internet played a huge part in, and so, I spent entirely too much time on Vintage Synth Explorer.com. Synths was a bit weirder as I started off first playing with presets and tracking layers at a time. I got into actually programming sound design not to dissimilar to how I got into computers and that was by needing to understand how the machine worked to know exactly how to do it again.
I tend to learn music that moves me and makes me feel. Everything I listen to also has a color to it, like an actual color hue, that’s similar to ambient lighting in the car. Every sound or song has one and so depending on where my head is at, it’s what I’ll gravitate towards.
Learning instruments by learning songs, helps to keep you focused on what it is you’re actually trying to do and that’s not really trying to master any instrument for me, it’s trying to write more songs. So I keep a big focus on song craft, and learning songs written by others helps me keep my ideas fresh. I really don’t believe artist’s write the songs as much as they are channeling them from some other place. I hear the songs in my head before I write them, and I am drawn to listen to stuff that has a piece or a snippet that I need in order to get the idea out of my head.
I’ve since learned a lot about music theory and would like to get deeper into it, but I tend to get caught up in another song as I am always hearing something in my head. In a big way, my approach is what helps me stay creative, as by learning from everything I listen to, I am able to not get married to one type of process for creating songs.
Playing multiple instruments forces you to think about the entire song, and how every part plays with others, so, I am never trying to show off on any instrument unless the songs asks for it. If a song is going to have a guitar solo, or a big crazy synth jam, etc it’ll be done tastefully and fit the song. I think it really helps keep the ego in check, and to me, generates the best songs.
It's fascinating that you handle almost every aspect of your music, with some production assistance from your wife, Jeanine. Could you tell us more about the collaborative dynamic between the two of you in the creative process?
Me and Jeanine have a few ways we work together. In Animals land, I tend to write the music first and usually write the lyrics second, and she helps me with deciding vocal approaches. She really is a big part of why I started to use my voice more, as before it was a lot of yelling. So, after we have the basic outline of the vocal delivery decided, I record a bunch of vocal takes, anywhere from 4 -12 of each part, she then has the Herculean task of picking the best takes from each part.
After that, I mix for the most part but there are some songs that she actually mixed the bass, as it’s her favorite instrument. Then I master everything, using Izotope’s AI mastering software.
In the past, Jeanine would then get anywhere from 3 to 15 versions of a song to listen to in the car and pick the best one from that. Now, with the AI assistant it’s down to 2 or 3 versions, with most of the time it being right the first time. Jeanine is also instrumental in helping me with track sequencing, as we both still agonize over the order the songs flow. We both love when albums are good from start to finish, with the idea you don’t need to hit the skip button.
When it comes to the live show, Jeanine is who I entrust to handle main electronic duties, so she’s playing keyboard and triggering any backing tracks or samples we need. She also does backing vocals. She also is directly responsible for things actually getting released as I tend to be really good at making stuff, but not so much with the business side of things. It also goes with out saying that she’s my biggest cheerleader, but still critical, so, when a vocal isn’t making her feel it, I know to keep digging. I couldn’t have finished this many songs without her.
We also have a side project that’ll be coming out early next year we call MOD CON, that’s a EDM project, where we basically just jam out with synths and sometimes other instrumentation and it’s purely instrumental although we’re open to collaborating with vocalist, just not either of us. I also do most of the music for her project we’re working on called Lady Destro, where she’s lead singer and lyric writer.
In 2016, you released a significant amount of music, including singles and full-length albums. How do you manage such a prolific output, and what inspires your songwriting and music production during these periods of creativity?
Well, I’ve always written fast because I just constantly hear music in my head. I really can’t shut it off, I finish one thing and before I can finish one song, 2 or 3 more pop into my head. In 2016, I wrote 88 songs in 3 weeks, and I only stopped because Jeanine told me I needed to slow down and decide on some to release. I started out saying I was going to write 10-20 new songs and it ballooned into 88. There’s still an entire album worth of songs from those sessions that I haven’t released yet.
I have ASD so I tend to be super detail orientated so, I hyper research every piece of gear and tech I have, to set things up in a way that I can’t help but record something. I currently have over 700 pieces of new music I am working on, and a little over half of it is Animals music, and the rest is for other projects. I just am constantly hearing new songs in my head, so I have to get them out. I have multiple tracking rigs set up and an audio interface on every computer I own, even upstairs in my bedroom, and with the price of old Macs, and studio gear for pennies on the dollar I am close to putting a small rig in my bathroom.
I am basically always on or working on something. The vocals are really the hardest part for me, as the music is what I hear the loudest in my head. The words are almost always jumbled in my head and that’s where my wife Jeanine is invaluable as she helps me zero in on the right method of delivery. I honestly don’t think I can really help but create and write songs, as it feels like I’m going to wither away and die if I don’t.
I’m inspired by my heroes and all of the great music that was made before me, and there is so much to draw from. I like to think of myself as “song agnostic” approach wise, meaning the instrumentation or method of recording everything can change. No formula, just taking what I hear in my head and bringing it into a format everyone can hear.
The lollapalooza festival in the 90’s is probably my biggest source of inspiration as to me it really was the second pinnacle of music. I think we’re due for a third and I’m trying to do my part, but that festival and the artist’s that played it, being so different from each other but, all sharing stages and audiences was incredible and I wish I would’ve been older to be able to experience it. Everyone I meet that went might as well be a celebrity to me. So, to me, AID is a direct by product of that festival. I think it also set me up to always chase where the next good song is, and to know that not every guitar part needs a distortion pedal.
It’s a similar bent with production and just like I have guitar heroes, drum heroes, songwriter heroes, synth heroes etc, I also have production heroes. That list is small when compared to the number of artists I listen to but it’s a mighty list. Alan Moulder and Flood are at the top of that list, as well as Butch Vig, Steve Allbini, Ken Andrews and the great Rick Rubin. Trent Rezonr is one of the heroes that overlaps in so many areas. To me they’re the finest producers in the land and can’t be beat. The albums they had a hand in are just beyond top notch and are the gifts that keep on giving. There’s certain parts or certain songs that come on and the room is just flooded with color, and you can feel it light your whole body. It’s like that feeling you get when you get a bottle of water after mowing your lawn on a really hot day. It’s like your insides become super alert! It’s exhilarating and probably why I don’t do drugs.
As an independent musician, what are your goals and aspirations for Animals in Denial, and what can fans expect in terms of new music or projects in the near future?
My biggest goal’s with AID are to get to work with my heroes that inspired me to pick up an instrument in the first place. I’d probably be satisfied with just knowing that they heard it, and thought it was pretty freaking cool. But I am doing everything I can to be able to make records with my heroes as I feel like we could do something that would shake up the world!
We have another of the revisited series singles just released, and the first ep in that series will be out November 10th. We have several batches of the revisited songs that I can’t wait for everyone to hear, as it is what I meant to say, it’s what I heard in my head!
Currently we are working to build up the live show and possibly tour, although, we’re looking at the modern world here and so making live streaming a key component to all live shows is goal 1. Also, thinking about how to reach the most people, the most efficient way. Fans can expect
to hear more music! There’ll be lots of new music and they’ll see more performances and videos. We have the revisited series that we’re releasing now and then after that will be another round of albums of new music, as I have so many new songs!
I also will have side projects that are releasing. MOD CON being the first of them, and some others to follow. I’d like to have them further along before I can give details but one of the projects is a guitar record, that’s mostly for other guitar players, so think of John 5, Joe Satriani kind of thing. I’m also hoping to find a band I can play drums in and just be the drummer, but that’s a pretty good ways away so we’ll just leave that out for now.
Stay up to date with Animals In Denial on the Website, and Facebook.
Stream music on Spotify, Soundcloud and YouTube music.

Hello, this is your Santa, hoping that I will make your December at least a bit more joyful!
So, I would have a few questions to you to narrow what I should do or find to leave a surprise ask probably every day, but you know, plans are plans and life does its own things.
I've noticed you like Stu a lot, tell me, what do you love about him? What makes him charming for you? Are there any other favorite artists you like on the same level as him or is he your priority? There was also a lot of George so tell me, is he your second favorite Beatle? What about the others, what's your opinion about them?
And are there any other bands that you consider your favorites?
All of that would help me a lot. I also hope that getting a curious ask will be read by you as a beginning of a good month!
Sincerely, a bit awkward at first, your Santa <3
hello santa! nice to meet you :^)
well this is an interesting question, i do love stu a lot. i think what i like about him is the mystery around him, the fact that we obviously don't know very much about him despite every statement or letter or anything, like obviously he died at a very young age and we know him because the beatles were successful and carried his memory with them. let's be real, without the beatles he probably and unfortunately would have been forgotten. also, i absolutely love his paintings and his style is an inspiration when i draw or paint (which is not so often). another artist whose artworks i really like is henri de toulouse-lautrec, he's a french painter and sometimes his drawings are a bit "cartoonish", i think it's awesome and it depicts very well the parisian life of his days. i like to say i'm a bit stu myself :-) when i was in high school a friend of mine asked me if i had a bass guitar, i said "yeah my brother has one", he asked me to join him and be in his band, i said "i don't know how to play it", he said "it's ok nvm" and that was it, i played rock music with him and his friends. and fun fact, one of the member of the band got married this october and asked us to reunite for the wedding, 7 years later, that was fun!!
i don't know if george is my favorite beatle or second favorite beatle, i don't like to rank but... yeah i like him a lot and i think he's the most likeable one if that makes sense? idk he looked peaceful and calm and i like his musical taste and what he managed to compose from this (with the lapsteel guitars and indian inspirations for example). i obviously love them all but i think george is the most touching one?
yes! it's been a while since i listened to them but i love the monkees, mostly musically. when i was younger like 10 years ago maybe, i watched the tv show (my english was not as good as it is today so i sometimes watched without even understanding what was happening in the episode haha) and tbf i'd like to watch it again but i know it's a bit "childish" and outdated so idk if it'd make me laugh as much as it could have before. but yeah as i said, musically i love them very much. i think michael nesmith is a terrific songwriter and peter tork a fabulous musician ; thanks to him i started the banjo (i stoped practicing a long time ago but still, i'd love to get back to it)
sorry for being so talkative, those were very interesting questions, thank you santa!! have a nice day and i'm looking forward to hear from you again soon :-)))

20 Objects that are meaningful to you:
Guitar
My guitar is important to me because it is my creative outlet that has no restrictions or rules. I find music to be one of the best ways to explore my creativty in a free, open way without feeling pressure or stress. I started playing guitar when I was 13 and it has always played an important part in my life.
Amplifier
My amplifier is aesthetically one of my favourite componants to my musical setup. The vintage look and feel is beautiful to me and actually helps to drive my creativity and musical themes when I’m playing.
Loop Pedal
The loop pedal I own is probably one of the more useful pieces of technology that I own. This allows me to practice, write and perform music by myself with layers and rythem where I would otherwise need a band or collaboration with other musicians.
Painting of angel pissing
This painting was given to me on my 21st birthday by a popular NZ artist who was displaying work in my parents art gallery. It is one of my favourite pieces of art because of the loose style, use of colours and the sense of humour which really speaks to my own sense of humour.
‘Bernard’ my indoor plant
A fairly new addition to my room, Bernard has been an important part in my room feeling happier and healthier. My brother first spoke to me about how having a plant in his room helped his mental health and helped his room to feel like a better, more positive place to be. After he told me this, I adopted Bernard from a garden store and ever since I have found more love for my bedroom.
My Hei-tiki
My Hei-tiki (Maori pendant) was given to me by my auntie when I was 18 and was blessed by a Maori sculpture in my parents Art Gallery. It represents the meeting of the sea and the land, with one side being made of whale bone and the other side being made of wood.
The metal sculpture of guy playing guitar
This is one of the older items on my tallboy in my room which was given to me on my 10th birthday by my parents. It was one of the original inspirations for my to learn guitar and become a rockstar.
Watch from my grandfather
This watch is from my grandfather and was engraved with my name by him before he passed away. It has been a part of my life for over 20years and is a reminder to stay strong and connected to my family whenever I look at it.
Tim Burton poetry book
My Tim Burton poetry book really inspires my sense of humour and I read at least one poem from it a day to help keep humour on the forefront of how I view the world.
Orange Chair
Another element I got from my grandfather, this was the chair he sat in every day whilst working at his desk at home as a jeweller. I sit in it at home when I’m working on design and creativity and it helps me feel inspired and connected to my grandfather.
Car keys
My car keys represent my freedom. Having a car is one of the biggest changes I experienced in life that pushed me from feeling like a teenager to feeling like an adult. My keys help my feel free and autonomous.
Sampa the Great Vinyl
The first vinyl I ever bought, this was my introduction to Hip-Hop music and a massive diversion from the music I listened to when I was younger and the journey I went on when I turned 21 into more pop-style music.
My Apple Pencil
My Apple Pencil has been an important element in fuelling my creative outlet of art and design, allowing more ease and freedom with being creative and drawing. I use my Apple Pencil every day on my IPAD and without it, I feel almost as though I am missing a limb.
Tetris Light
This modular tetris neon light is something that I use to exercise my creativity and problem solving ability. Each element can be moved and connected in different ways to create different shapes. This helps me do a mental workout and explore different ways of connecting the same shapes to create different shapes and balance.
Football
Physical exercise is important to me and is also something I fight with and struggle to get inspired about. Football is one way I can channel my love for sport and exercise into a more accessible way to get out of the house and be active.

I just had this small idea of a Pokémon AU? One where the Sbi family helps their younger sibling, who’s nervous around Pokémon, to get more comfortable around them? I just think it’d be cute to have Techno, Wil, and Tommy be good big brothers. And yeah, this is kind of inspired by that kid from the Destiny Deoxys movie, and Lillie from the Sun and Moon games/series.
I don't think I've researched this much for a request XD I even watched the movie! Bonus points to those who know who I based Techno's character off of!
Pokémon Fears
Pairings: Platonic! Tommy, Technoblade, Wilbur, x GN! Sibling! Reader
Warnings: Pokemon Battles?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Technoblade
(Y/N) cheered up in the stands louder than most of the people around them, Phil having long ago given up on quieting his youngest as they were watching his oldest battle. It was the championship and they were against the champion of their region, Technoblade. (Y/N) loved watching Techno during the League battles, though it was a different story off the field.
They roared with the crowd as the finalist last Pokémon was down, Techno patting his Garchomp’s shoulder for a good job.
“Alright.” Phil laughed before picking (Y/N) up and putting them on his shoulders. “Let’s go congratulate Techno.”
Holding onto Phil’s hands as he walked, (Y/N) eagerly chatted about the different Pokémon the other trainers used. It always surprised Phil that (Y/N) was always interested in the different creatures but if one so much as got too close…
(Y/N) squeaked as a Pidgey flew by their head, ducking down. Phil sighed patting their knee.
“It’s alright. They’re not going to do anything.”
Phil and the boys were never quite sure why (Y/N) was afraid of Pokémon, but they just were and couldn’t get near them. They could watch battles from a distance and had a decent amount of knowledge about various types, but couldn’t pluck the courage to be a few steps from them.
Techno was moving away from a few fans when (Y/N) and Phil showed up.
“Techno!” (Y/N) grinned again. “That was so cool! When Garchomp earthquaked their Blaziken-”
Techno chuckled as he took his sibling from Phil and let them ramble.
“Alright, alright.” He told them. “Why don’t we get something to eat and give Phil a break while you talk?”
“Can we go to that good sandwich place?” (Y/N) grinned.
“Yeah, ok. We’ll be home later Phil.”
“Ok, make sure you’re home before ten,” Phil told him and Techno gave a mock salute before walking off.
He let (Y/N) ramble away about the battles as he got their food and brought them to a park, sitting at a more secluded table. (Y/N) went quiet as they began to eat and Techno waited before speaking.
“So, why don’t we try again?” He offered as he took a Pokeball off his belt.
(Y/N) frowned as they shrank in their seat a bit, muttering, “I don’t know…”
“You got really close last time to actually petting Togekiss.” Techno reminded them. “So, why don’t we try one more time?”
“I got really close but I didn’t…I’m still scared.”
“It's ok to be. You sit and watch me battle trainer after trainer after all. You see what they do for battle. You don’t take a lot of time to just sit with them.” Techno said. “So, let’s let Togekiss sit with us.”
Techno let the Pokémon out and the creature let out a small noise as he stood on the table. (Y/N) squirmed in their seat as they looked at the creature.
“Why don’t you keep eating then try and pet him? Ok?” Techno offered and (Y/N) stared at the Pokémon before slowly nodding.
Their lunch continued, (Y/N) even quieter with the creature so close. Techno occasionally gave a bit of food to his Togekiss until both he and (Y/N) were done.
“Alright, now let’s try. Just be gentle, just like this.” Techno pet his Togekiss. “You can do it.”
(Y/N) stared at the Pokémon before reaching a hand out shakily. Togekiss stayed still, having done this a few times before and knowing his movement scared the poor child. (Y/N)’s and hovered above his head before closing their eyes and finally put their hand on top of it. Techno grinned proudly as (Y/N) stayed still for a moment before opening their eyes and grinning themselves when they saw that they actually did it.
“I-I did it!” (Y/N) grinned as they gently pet Togekiss, the Pokémon giving a small noise of delight.
“You did. I told you, you could.” Techno patted their head. “Now, you’ll be a champion before you know it.”
(Y/N) giggled as they smiled lightly at the Pokémon. Yeah, they’d be just like Techno.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wilbur
Wilbur came up to (Y/N)’s door, knocking. A moment later, (Y/N) opened and smiled up at him.
“Hey, kiddo. I’m going to play my guitar with my Pokémon, want to come and try sitting with us today?” Wilbur crouched in front of them.
It was always sad to Wilbur to see his sibling afraid of Pokémon. He knew they had a bad encounter with a more aggressive Taillow but he was sad to see they couldn’t bring themselves to be near other types. It made sense why they were extremely afraid of Phil’s Murkrows but not as much for other types. He actually missed sitting with (Y/N) while he played guitar and his Pokémon sang with them.
(Y/N) hesitated at the doorway before nodding slowly. “Yes.”
Wilbur smiled, ruffling their hair as he stood up. “Ok, get your shoes on and grab your jacket just in case and we’ll go to the park.”
He waited by the front door for them and called to Phil they were going out when they came down. They walked side by side to the park, the pair joking with each other. At one point, Wilbur gave them a shove before sprinting the rest of the way, challenging them as he ran away. (Y/N) laughed before sprinting after him, calling him out for his cheating.
The pair finally sat by the lake and Wilbur tuned his guitar.
“Any requests?” Wilbur looked up at them.
They shifted nervously now as now would be the time to let the Pokémon out and he smiled gently as he ruffled (Y/N)’s hair.
“Hey, it’s ok. I’ll only let Lapras and Marill to start, ok? We’ll work up to Altaria.” Wilbur assured them.
(Y/N) was silent before nodding. “Ok…can you sing one of your songs?”
He kept his soft smile for his sibling as he took out two Pokeballs from his bag. “Of course, I can, you ready?”
They nodded once more and he released Lapras in the lake and Marill next to the water’s edge. (Y/N) moved back slightly as Marill gave a delighted motion to see the other human again.
“Alright, you two,” Wilbur said putting a hand on top of Marill’s head. “We’re going to stay calm and sing for (Y/N).”
Both of the Pokémon let out a noise of agreement before Wilbur started to play. (Y/N) watched nervously as the trio in front of them. Wilbur was singing the actual words as he strummed as his Pokémon managed to harmonize with him, making a beautiful sound. They were starting on the third song when (Y/N) finally started to sing with them. Wilbur grinned brightly as he continued, Marill giving an elated noise as Lapras gave an encouraging one.
After the group finished the fourth song, they took a moment to break and Wilbur just strummed mindlessly when Marill wandered over to (Y/N). They scooted back slightly as Wilbur paused to put his instrument down.
“It’s ok. Marill would never hurt you. She just wants to sit in your lap, just like she used to.”
(Y/N) hesitated but sat still, shaking as Marill sat in their lap. They looked up at Wilbur to see him smiling as he scooted next to them to put a hand on their shoulder.
“See? You’re alright. It’s just Marill.”
(Y/N) stared down at the Pokémon in their lap before shakily putting a hand on her head. Marill gave an excited noise, startling (Y/N), but Wilbur hugged them around the shoulder to calm them.
“It’s ok,” Wilbur assured them.
They sat with their hand on Marill’s head for a few minutes before finally smiling lightly as they finally ran their hand along her head.
“There you go. I’m very proud of you.” Wilbur grinned.
“Thanks, Wilbur.” They smiled up at him.
It was a week later when Altaria was able to once more join their group.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tommy
“How do you plan on helping (Y/N)?” Tubbo asked and Tommy groaned loudly.
“I don’t know big man! Phil, Techno, and Wilbur all tried to help them out but they still can’t even get close to their own Pokémon!” Tommy threw up his arms.
It had been a week when Tommy and (Y/N) had snuck into a safari area they weren’t supposed to be in. As such, the Pokémon in the area had been startled by their presence and both had to be helped by the adults. Tommy had been fine, he didn’t mind the change in their adventure, but (Y/N) being a bit younger than him had been freaked out by the experience and was terrified at the moment to be around Pokémon, even their own Eevee, Electrike, and Riolu.
So, not only was Tommy in trouble for having the pair sneak into a place they were supposed to be but for also making (Y/N) freak out like they were.
“What can I do?” Tommy asked his friend.
Tubbo hummed. “Well, what did they like to do with their Pokémon before?”
“We’d have mock battles and they liked to go on walks and play with them,” Tommy told him.
“Well then do that! Have a mock battle with them. I’m sure they can’t resist, you both want to be trainers, right?”
“Well, yeah, we’re going to be the best champions!”
“Then they won’t be able to say no.”
Tommy nodded after a moment, grinning. “Yeah! Thanks, Tubbo! I got to go do that now!”
Tommy ran back home to gather (Y/N)’s Pokémon and his own in the backyard. Once he had them all, he knocked on (Y/N)’s door. They opened, raising an eyebrow.
“What’s up Tommy?” They asked.
“I challenge you to battle!” Tommy declared.
(Y/N) frowned, shuffling nervously. “I…Don’t think that’s a good idea.”
“Come on! We’re going to be Pokémon Champions, right?” Tommy grinned.
“I don’t know if I want to anymore.” (Y/N) muttered.
“Oh, come off it.” Tommy huffed before grabbing their hand.
“Tommy.” (Y/N) protested but Tommy dragged them to the backyard.
“No, come on. We’ve both wanted to be trainers since before we could even have Pokémon. You have been training yours and learning to be a trainer and now you want to quit? I won’t let it happen.” Tommy told them before going into the backyard. “So, let’s battle.”
(Y/N) shook as they saw the six Pokémon waiting and having their own conversations it seemed. There were (Y/N)’s own three and Tommy’s Charmander, Torchic, and Cyndaquil.
“T-Tommy, I can’t!” (Y/N) tried to leave.
“You can. Look, you and I are better than any other trainer. And you’re not giving it up.” Tommy pulled them forward and made them stand away but behind their Pokémon before he stood behind his own. “Now, you make the first move!”
Tommy didn’t want (Y/N) to throw away everything the pair of them had learned. They had both been excited about becoming trainers and had mock battles where their Pokémon didn’t seriously hurt each other and they even used all of their Pokémon at once. They both thought it’d make them better trainers as they would be able to focus much better on a one-on-one battle and they’d know how to make split-second calls faster. The pair of them worked so hard! And Tommy didn’t want to be the reason (Y/N) quit.
This had to work.
(Y/N)’s Pokémon were very happy to see them. Their Eevee and Electrike wagged their tails as their Riolu waved at them. (Y/N) gripped their hands nervously. They were so close to Pokémon and they were scared…but Tommy was right, they did want to be a trainer…even if they thought quitting was best.
“Come on (Y/N)!” Tommy cheered from his side.
They looked over at their brother and Tommy was grinning. They thought before taking a deep breath. They could do this…
“…Electrike! Thunderwave on Charmander!” They called out, Electrike letting out an excited call before doing as told, the rest of the Pokémon eager for the mock battle.
Tommy grinned brightly. “Cyndaquil! Smoke Screen!”
“Riolu, foresight!”
The pair played out their battle, both smiling and enjoying time with their Pokémon after. Tommy was extremely relieved as (Y/N) sat happily petting their Eevee. He’d be careful next time.
My Runner 5’s/ZR Universe MCs. (Spoilers for seasons 1-3 of ZR with illusions to later seasons)
Because eh why not?
using @ummmmandy‘s picrew and inspired by @runner5anna‘s post (I’m still working on my 5′s playlist so that’s coming at a later date)
Runner Five: Alicia Emily Bright
The OG, my traumatised baby, who I will protect with my life but also trauma dump on.
Has left side Hemiplegia.
Is neurodivergent AF (autism)
diagnosed with GAD (Generalised Anxiety Disorder)
Very sensitive to loud noises, wet clothing and mess on her skin.
Selective mute due to anxiety from the helicopter crash and autism.
Had to kill her zombified mother with a kitchen knife on day zero.
Also had to shoot her younger brother, Louis, at Mullins after he was bitten a few weeks before she arrived at Abel.
Is currently dating Sam Yao, and is actually engaged to him (as of season 6).
Short sighted.
Huge Nerd. Will talk about Doctor Who and Red Dwarf for hours if you let her. Loves DnD.
Has an emotional support puppy by the name of Scraps, a Jack Russell Terrier who she rescued in season 2 and whom she adores. To lose him would literally be like losing a child to her. He is her baby. It sure would be a shame if something happened to him, say for example, someone killed him at the end of season 5.
Forgets to look after herself constantly, potentially has a death wish (or at least thats Abel Township’s theory), will kill and be killed for those she loves.
New Canton Runner 5: Joel James Bright
Born in 1979, to Edith and Robert Bright. Younger brother of Dominic.
Married childhood sweetheart, Maria when they were 19.
Father of Alicia and Louis Bright.
Was in a band in university. Gave it up to start a family.
Secondary school history teacher.
Adores his children, will die for them.
Plays guitar like a pro.
Short sighted.
Got knocked out by his zombified wife on Z Day, and was assumed dead by his children.
Despite his bleeding head, he managed to find his way to New Canton in the early days of the apocalypse. Believed his children were dead (he was half right).
Close with Chris McShell and Lem.
Overjoyed to discover at least his daughter was alive.
Very protective of Alicia in new Canton following the Abel explosion in the season one finale.
Died in London, buried under a building he blew up.
Left a message to Alicia via video and Alicia stumbled across the site whilst in London and retrieved by luck his broken glasses to remember him by.
Nobody knows what happened to his body.
Has a memorial in New Canton and an grave by Mullins base, next to his son, Louis’ grave.
Walker- Tabitha ‘Tammy’ Natalie Walker.
Alicia’s uncle Dominic is Tammy’s father.
Lived in Scotland with her mum, Allison.
Lived in Fostercare after the death of her mum, six years prior to The Walk.
Goes by either ‘Tabs’ or ‘Tammy’ (sometimes even by her middle name as she’s not overly fond of her first name)
19 years old at the start of The Walk (which takes place c. 2016 as Boris Johnson’s still Mayor of London) and turns 20 during.
Coincidentally, her surname is the same as her computer generated codename, Walker.
Bubbily, but also extremely sensible and serious.
More extroverted than Alicia, but less than the average person.
Was on her way to meet family at Paddington station as she was travelling down for a week in London with her dad, step mum, Ruby, half siblings, Tara, David and Luke, her uncle Joel, her aunt Maria and her cousins Alicia and Louis, as an early birthday present when she was approached by Fiona and dragged into the whole mess.
Close with Alicia before the events of The Walk.
Has a massive crush on Lawrence. in fact they sort of start a relationship.
Has PTSD due to the events of the Walk.
Survived day zero and lives in Mullins base during the apocalypse. Where she reconnects with her father Dominic, and cousins Alicia and Louis, but Louis dies a few weeks in and Alicia leaves for Abel Township on a special mission. Neither cousin are aware the other is still alive since then.
Sapper 5- James ‘Jamie’ Edward Carter
Jamie Carter was born to Molly and George Carter in 1900. He’s their only son.
His father was a policeman who was one of a handful of people who knew the identity of Jack The Ripper (although Jamie would never learn who it was) and his mother was responsible for uncovering the ‘Bicycle Face’ conspiracy at the age of 16, and was an avid suffragette and campaigner against police corruption.
Because of this, his family has always been, unbeknownst to him and his relatives, on a government watch list.
He left school at 14 and started an apprenticeship in engineering.
He then signed up to fight in the war in 1915, underage. He survived, travelling across the globe from Africa to Russia.
Eventually he met Elizabeth Stewart, a Scottish nurse whilst in Russia.
Both of them were stuck in Russia after the war for a couple of years, and during that time they fell in love. They managed to leave Russia back to the London just before the Tsar was assassinated, and Jamie returned back to his apprenticeship, becoming an accomplished engineer and setting up his own company.
despite this he constantly suffered flashbacks and nightmares from his time at war.
They had three children. George, Joseph ‘Jojo’ and Edith ‘Edie’.
He passed away in March 1999 at the age of 99.
He is the grandfather of Dominic and Joel Bright and the great grandfather of Tabitha Walker, Alicia, Tara, Louis, David and Luke Bright.
SO GLAD YOU LIKED THE SONGS ok so. let's start at the beginning.
Prelude: This is the history of the band, I just realized I talked for a REALLY long time here to feel free to skip this if you're not interested.
So Delta Rae is an amazing amazing band, just the most talented group of people you'll ever see in your life, they've been my favorite band of all time since I started listening to them six years ago.
From left to right:
Eric, the middle child who just does The Most for this band, he gets beat up in all their music videos, he sings and plays piano and sometimes guitar; Brittany, Eric's younger sister, the baby of the family and also of the band and she takes this role very seriously. also a witch and tarot reader and also always the one Doing That in all of their photoshoots, she sings the witchy songs and murder ballads; Grant, the bassist, he's very quiet but he's got style and also runs ultramarathons and also has a baby he can often be seen bouncing when they livestream; Liz, the siblings' (especially Eric's) childhood friend, she gardens a lot and shares recipes with fans, she sings and plays the tambourine like a badass; Ian, the older brother of Eric and Brittany, completely incapable of drinking water with the rest of them (I will show you the video if you want), he sings and plays the guitar; Mike, has goofy dad energy, plays the drums and also sometimes Chain On Trashcan.
The siblings, Ian, Eric, and Brittany, grew up in the south where their mom was a gay rights activist and where Ian and Eric started writing songs together when they were 12 and 10. In 2009 Ian and Eric decided to rent this run-down old house in North Carolina literally in the middle of the woods 20 minutes from all civilization and then call Brittany and Liz who were in California and New York City with jobs and lives and asked if they wanted to come live in the middle of the woods with them and start a band and they said "yeah sure we're in!" Mike and Grant joined after a few months. They rehearsed every single day and played gigs whenever they could to scrape together rent each month and recorded their first album in the kitchen of that house (you'd literally never know it sounds incredible), funded by kickstarter.
A different singer takes lead on each song and the others do incredible background vocals, their sound just blows the roof off it's incredible, they sing witchy songs, southern gothic, folk rock, protest songs, some gospel, soul, and blues inspired sounds, some country-inspired sounds, occasionally harder rock. Very hard to describe the genre because literally all of the songs are a different genre.
Going Independent: In May 2019 the band hadn't released a full-length album in 4 years due to their label limiting what they could put out. Sick of being stifled by the label, they left, went independent, and launched a kickstarter to raise the money to record and produce their next two albums that had literally been written for 5 years (some songs for 10) that they hadn't been able to put out.
And then. See, Taylor Swift had just left the same record label because of similar issues, so she retweeted Delta Rae's kickstarter announcement. And boy did that give them a boost.
The kickstarter blew through its main goals of raising enough for the two albums in hours. And then, over the following weeks, they hit their stretch goals. An acoustic album. Music videos. And finally. A Southern Gothic Musical.
The Musical: So this, as Liz puts it, "crazy band from the woods" is making a musical. A musical! It's called The Ninth Woman. It tells the story of a Puritan town in the early 1600s that has been overcome with a witch hunt. Children have been disappearing and, fueled by their fire-and-brimstone preacher, the townfolk have tried and executed 8 women as witches. But another child disappears, and they bring forward a ninth woman. Little do they know, this time they've caught a real witch, but her motives are not what they believe.
Also side note they've only released demos of the songs and only 1/2-2/3 of the songs. We don't know the ending yet. It's extremely distressing. Although the fact that they're demos means we get to enjoy hearing Eric harmonizing with Eric, Eric, Eric, Eric, Eric, Eric, Eric, and Eric.
Here's our cast of characters, in addition to the townsfolk:
Diana: The Ninth Woman. The witch. She vanished when she was 13, mysteriously returned when she was 17, and has been living a little ways off in the woods working as a midwife/healer for the women of the village ever since. Played by Brittany, of course.
James: Diana's oldest brother. A real Javert sort of character, believes it's his duty to turn in Diana on suspicion of witchcraft even if it means betraying his sister. Played by Ian.
Aaron: The middle brother. A little more reticent about the whole turning Diana in thing and a little more sympathetic to her, but follows James' lead, at least at first. Played by Eric.
Preacher Haskett: The preacher. A real piece of work.
Miriam: A young woman about Aaron's age who was orphaned as a child, taken in by the church, and raised by Preacher Haskett. And she is keeping secrets... Played by Liz.
Robert Fell: He only has like one line in any of the songs they've released so far so I assume he must play a bigger role in the ending. From what I can tell he's a Giles Corey type of guy.
Ok now for the songs! I'll provide timestamps in this video for each song. I'll let the songs tell the story for the most part but explain what happens in between. In the video are little profile images that shows you which character is singing.
We open in a church in this small puritan town. The congregation is singing their morning hymn...
The Lord's Way (14:35)
As the hymn finishes, a woman bursts in, frantic. Her child has gone missing!
Another Child (19:44)
Preacher Haskett prepares the congregation for another witch trial.
Worthy (26:01)
There are two songs here that they've done demos of Behind the Door (it's like their personal Patreon) but didn't put in the video. Sad. The first, The Nine, describes the women they've executed as witches, for crimes like having birthmarks, teaching science, being disabled or mentally ill, living on the outskirts of their society, or for defending the other women against the unjust accusations. In the second song, Guilty, Ian and Aaron sing about their decision to bring Diana forward as a witch and their uncertainty about whether or not she could really do something so terrible. They bring Diana to the church in shackles, where she appears to willingly submit to the trial.
Try Me (32:37)
There's another song from behind the door that's been omitted from the demos here, called Spread the Word. In it, the women of the town knit clothes for their missing children while gossiping about the witch trial, disagreeing on whether Diana is guilty or innocent. Their gossip turns to Miriam, who is still not engaged despite it being clear that she and Aaron are falling in love. The song ends with one of the women whispering "Now you did not hear this from me, but Miriam is keeping secrets..." The scene cuts to Miriam walking alone through the woods to place a child-size sweater upon a small homemade memorial by the river, singing the following song.
What I Wouldn't Give (41:06)
Unbeknownst to Miriam, Aaron has followed her into the woods, trying to catch up with her. So they are both there when they look across the river (a wide, uncrossable river) and see in the distance the missing children. They appear to be happy, and well, and are singing, a song that Miriam and Aaron can hear from across the river. (The song, Follow, is also behind the door unfortunately.) Miriam and Aaron rush back to the church to stop the trial— the children are safe, the trials can end!
Back to the Blood (54:49)
Meanwhile, back in the church, Diana has been given a chance to speak in her defense. She uses this opportunity for... interesting purposes.
The Spark (1:04:56)
Miriam and Aaron reach the church and run in, telling Preacher Haskett and the congregation what they've seen. A confrontation ensues.
The Snake (1:19:37)
And we're left on a cliffhanger! Because I guess we just have to attend a show to find out the rest.
you know So Many things and it's great /gen
i shall listen to the rest of the songs and tell you what i think!!! like i said, i really liked the first two you sent me so I'm excited to listen to the rest (esp. because this plot sounds really really cool)
20 Questions With Darren Criss: How Acting Has Helped Him Make New Music
While Darren Criss has graced our TV screens with a range of characters, from high schooler Blaine Anderson on Glee to serial killer Andrew Cunanan on The Assassination of Gianni Versace, he was last spotted just being himself, on our For You Page on TikTok. “I’m walking to rehearsal with a guitar on my back with a Trader Joe’s bag ... I did not bring an umbrella because I forgot that it was raining. I’m rocking that NYC musician life,” the Glee alum explained in the hilarious clip posted three days ago.
While Criss’ acting work has earned him acclaim and stardom, he leaned into making music during the pandemic. On Aug. 20, he dropped a new EP, Masquerade, featuring five new tracks that Criss says were inspired by the different characters Criss has embraced throughout his career. After Criss wrote songs for his musical comedy web series Royalties and Apple TV+’s animated sitcom Central Park before the pandemic struck the United States, he then used those experiences as a precursor to his new EP. As Criss continues to promote his new music, he answered 20 of Billboard's questions – giving us a peek into how his new EP came together, and how growing up in San Fransisco shaped him as an actor, singer and all-around artist.
1. What inspired your latest project, Masquerade?
Although I would have preferred that it come at a far less grim cost, I finally had the time. Before the pandemic, I had written 10 new songs for my show Royalties -- along with an original song for Disney and another for Apple’s Central Park. These were all assignments in which I was writing for a certain scenario and character. Go figure. It was the most music I had ever written in a calendar year. This really emboldened me to rethink how I made my own music— to start putting a focus on “character creation” in my songs, rather than personal reflection. The latter was not proving to be as productive. The alchemy of having this time and having set a new intention with my own songwriting and producing made me put on a few of my favorite masques and throw myself a Masquerade.
2. How do you think your background as an actor complements your music?
They are one and the same to me. I treat acting roles like musical pieces— dialogue is like scoring a melody; there’s pace, dynamics, cadence, tone. Physical characterization is like producing -- zeroing in on the bass line, deciding on the kick pattern. Vocal characterization is like choosing the right sonic experience, choosing the most effective snare sound, and mixing the high end or low end. It goes without saying that it works in the complete opposite direction. Making each song is taking on a different role literally and employing the use of different masques to maximize the effectiveness of the particular story being told.
3. On Instagram you wrote that “Masquerade is a small collection of the variety of musical masques that have always inspired me.” Which track do you identify with most in your real life?
Everybody absorbs songs differently. Some key into the lyrics, some into the melody, some the production, some into vocal performance. When I listen to songs, I consider all of their value on totally different scales. So it’s hard to say if there’s any track I “identify” with more than any others, since I -- by nature -- identify with all of them. I think I just identify with certain aspects more than others. If it helps for a more interesting answer, I will say I enjoy the slightly more classical, playful -- dare I say -- more Broadway-leaning wordplay of “Walk of Shame,” but that’s just talking about lyricism. I enjoy the attitude of “F*kn Around,” the batsh--t musicality of “I Can’t Dance,” the relentless grooves of “Let’s” and “For A Night Like This.” All have different ingredients I really enjoy having an excuse to dive into.
4. What’s the first piece of music that you bought for yourself, and what was the medium?
Beatles audio cassettes: “Help” and “Hard Day’s Night.” I just listened on repeat on a tape-playing Walkman until my brother and I got a stereo for our room with a CD player in it, which was when I just bought the same two albums again, but this time as compact discs.
5. What was the first concert you saw?It’s hard to say, because my parents took us to a lot of classical concerts when we were small. But I guess this question usually refers to what was the first concert you went to on your own volition, and that my friend, was definitely Warped Tour ’01. My brother and I went on our own— two teenagers going to their first music festival, in the golden age of that particular genre and culture. It was f--king incredible.
6. What did your parents do for a living when you were a kid?
My dad was in private banking and advised really, really wealthy people on how to handle their money. My mom was, by choice, a stay-at-home mom, but in reality, she was my dad’s consigliere. They discussed absolutely everything together. They were a real team, and I saw that every single day in the house. They both had a background in finance (That’s how they met in the first place.) and were incredibly skilled at all the hardcore adulting things that I absolutely suck at. They were total finance wizards together. So of course, instead of becoming an accountant, I picked up playing the guitar and ran as far I could with it. Luckily, they were all about it.
7. What was your favorite homecooked meal growing up?
My dad was an incredible chef. For special occasions, I’d request his crab cakes. They were unreal. I’ve never had a crab cake anywhere in the world that was good as my dad’s.
8. Who made you realize you could be an artist full-time?
I don’t know if I’ve actually realized that yet.
9. What’s at the top of your professional bucket list?
The specifics change every day, but the core idea at the top is to continue being consistently inconsistent with my choices, and to keep getting audiences to constantly reconsider their consideration of me. But I mean, sure, what performer doesn’t want to play Coachella? What songwriter doesn’t want to have Adele sing one of their songs? What actor doesn’t want to be in a Wes Anderson film?
10. How did your hometown/city shape who you are?
San Francisco. I mean, come on. I was really lucky. The older I get, the more grateful I am for just being born and raised there. It’s an incredibly diverse, culturally rich, colorful, inclusive, vibrant city. By the time I was born, it had served as a beacon for millions of creative, out-of-the-box thinkers to gather and thrive. I grew up around that. The combination of that with having parents, who were unbelievably supportive of the arts themselves, laid an incredibly fortunate foundation to consider the life of an artist as a legitimately viable option. It’s a foundation that I am supremely aware is not the case for millions of young artists around the world. I was absurdly lucky.
11. What’s the last song you listened to?
I mean probably one of mine, but not by choice. I know, lame. But I’m promoting a new EP, what’d you expect? But if you wanna know what I’ve been listening to, as far as new s--t is concerned: a lot of Lizzy McAlpine, Remi Wolf, and Charlie Burg.
12. If you could see any artist in concert, dead or alive, who would it be?
The Beatles is an obvious "yeah, duh." Sammy Davis, Mel Tormé, or of course, Nat King Cole. I would’ve loved to see Howard Ashman give a lecture on his creative process and his body of work.
13. What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen happen in the crowd of one of your sets?
I feel like just having a crowd at all, at any one of my sets, is pretty wild enough.
14. What’s your karaoke go-to?
The real answer to this I’ll write into a book one day, because I have a lot to say about karaoke etiquette. I have two options here: I can either name a song that I like to sing for me, for fun, or I can name a song that really gets the group going. The answer depends on what kind of karaoke night we’re dealing with here. So I will say, after I’ve selected a ton of songs that services a decent enough party vibe for everyone else, then I would do one for me, and that would be the Beatles’ “Oh! Darling.”
15. What’s one thing your most devoted fans don’t know about you?
What I have up my sleeve.
16. What TV show did you binge-watch over the past year?
Dave is a stroke of genius. There are episodes that I believe are bona fide masterpieces. Also, My Brilliant Friend is a masterclass in cinematic television.
17. What movie, or song, always makes you cry?
It’s A Wonderful Life.
18. What’s one piece of advice you would give to your younger self?
Get used to sharing everything about yourself and your life now, or more astutely, to the idea that you don’t necessarily get to control how your life is shared. I know it’s not really your thing, but you’re gonna have to get used to it, so start building up those calluses now. And don’t worry, all the stuff you love now will be cool again in your mid-thirties, so keep some of those clothes because you’ll be a full-blown fashion icon if you just keep wearing exactly what you’re wearing. Oh nd also, put money into Apple and Facebook.
19. What new hobby did you take on in the last year?
I’ve always been a linguaphile. My idea of leisure time is getting to study or review other languages. This past year, I took the time to finally dive into learning how to read, write, and speak Japanese. Other than making music, it was one of the biggest components of my 2020-2021.
20. What do you hope to accomplish or experience by the end of 2021?
I hope I get to play live shows again.
The Best Day
DISCLAIMER!! I do NOT own the song by Taylor Swift! It is her song it just inspired me to write this story!!
Y/n Gilmore-Danes is the daughter of Luke and Lorelai and she is the younger sister to Lorelai “Rory” Gilmore and older sister to Charles “Charlie” Gilmore-Danes. Y/n is a musician and has been playing guitar and piano since she was seven years old. This story takes place when Y/n is 18 years old. Rory is around 23 and Charlie is 15 years old. The story is set around Mothers day.
Taylor Swift As, Y/n Gilmore-Danes
Beep Beep Beep Beep
Y/n sighs and hits her alarm clock just wanting the sound to stop. Y/n sits up in her bed and looks around her room smiling when she notices her guitar. After getting ready for the day, Y/n walks a few steps down the stairs and stands there.
“Mom? Dad? Charlie? Anyone here?” Y/n calls out and when no one answers she smiles and runs back up the stairs and shuts her door. Grabbing her guitar and sitting on the floor, Y/n pulls out her song book and starts working on her song.
Y/n is writing a son mainly about her mother but also includes her father and little brother. As much as she loves her older sister, Y/n really wanted this song about her mother.
Following working on the song for two hours there is a loud knock on the door downstairs. Y/n grumbles but stands and runs down to the door and opens it to find her brother and sister standing there.
“Forget your key or something?” Y/n raises an eyebrow at her siblings. “Normally the door is unlocked unless you or Luke are here” Rory says walking into the house.
“Sorry. I am just nervous because I don’t want mom to walk into the house without me knowing while I finish the song I am working on for her” Y/n explains causing her two siblings to smile.
“Speaking of are you gonna be here for the Mother’s Day festival Rory?” Charlie asks after grabbing some water from the fridge. “Yes actually. I will be in town until the Sunday” Rory smiles and walks to her room.
“As much fun as this has been I have a song to finish by tomorrow so I will see you both later” Y/n says heading upstairs and grabbing her guitar and song book before leaving the house.
Y/n smiles as she walks into her dads diner and sits down at the counter. Luke smiles at his daughter and hands her a cup of coffee. “What are you doing with your guitar?” Luke asks noticing the case standing up next to Y/n.
“I was working on a surprise for mom but Rory and Charlie showed up at the house so I left and was hoping I could go up to your apartment to finish my song for tomorrow night” Y/n explains and uses puppy eyes on her dad.
“Alright fine. Just be careful. If you need anything let me know” Luke says and ruffles her hair. “I will, thanks dad” Y/n says and grabs her stuff then heads up stairs. With only a few hours left the day, Y/n was determined to finish her song.
Around nine-thirty at night Y/n felt a hand brush through her hair causing her to open her eyes. “Shh honey what are you doing here?” Lorelai asks while sitting next to her youngest daughter.
“I wanted a quiet place to finish a song and I guess I fell asleep” Y/n explains and lays her head on her moms shoulder. Lorelai smiles and kisses her daughters head, “come on let’s go home” Lorelai pulls her daughter up and they leave the diner.
The next day Y/n wakes up super early and sets her guitar downstairs by the door then goes to the kitchen to help Rory and Charlie cook breakfast. Currently Rory and Charlie are arguing over how the french toast is supposed to be made so Y/n decides to just start mixing everything needed and prepares the bread.
“What are you doing Y/n/n?” Rory questions as she walks over to the young singer. “Making the french toast like we talked about because if you both kept arguing mom would be up before we actually finished breakfast” Y/n explains causing her siblings to nod their heads.
As the three siblings continue making the food, Charlie turned on some music and they all danced around making jokes. Out of nowhere the music turns off causing all three siblings to turn and see their mother standing in the doorway smiling.
“What are you three doing?” Lorelai asks as they all share a look. “We were making breakfast for you!” Charlie says walking over to Lorelai and pulling her over to the table and making her sit down. Y/n and Rory finish cooking and place the food on the table. “Happy Mothers day mom” Rory and Y/n say together causing Lorelai to smile brightly.
“Thank you! All of you!” Lorelai smiles at her kids. “Of course! You do so much for all of us and we wanted to show you that especially today!” Y/n explains and leans over to giver Lorelai a hug.
After spending the entire morning and part of the afternoon together, Y/n excuses herself and leaves to go do a sound check for her performance tonight to close the festival. Taylor had different people performing acts all day long and Y/n was closing the show with her new song and a slideshow.
Lane and her band opened and are going to be playing a song before Y/n goes on. As the day bled into night, Y/n got more and more nervous. After Lane and the band finished their song, Y/n grabbed her guitar and walked onto the stage smiling when she saw her parents and siblings.
“Hi everyone! As you all know I am Y/n Gilmore-Danes! I was asked by Taylor if I could close this wonderful festival with a song of my own. This song took me well over a month to write but I love how it turned out. As we all know it is Mothers day and this song I wrote is about my amazingly talented mother Mrs. Lorelai Gilmore! I love you mama and hope you like this song” Y/n explains smiling and starts playing her guitar.
I'm five years old It's getting cold I've got my big coat on I hear your laugh And look up smiling at you I run and run Past the pumpkin patch And the tractor rides Look now, the sky is gold I hug your legs And fall asleep on the way home.
“I don't know why all the trees change in the fall But I know you're not scared of anything at all Don't know if Snow White's house is near or far away But I know I had the best day with you today.
I'm thirteen now And don't know how My friends could be so mean I come home crying And you hold me tight And grab the keys And we drive and drive Until we found a town far enough away And we talk and window shop 'Till I forgotten all their names.
I don't know who I'm gonna talk to now at school But I know I'm laughing On the car ride home with you Don't know how long it's gonna take to feel okay But I know I had the best day with you today.
I have an excellent father His strength is making me stronger God smiles on my little brother Inside and out he's better than I am I grew up in a pretty house
And I had space to run and I had the best days with you There is a video I found From back when I was three You set up a paint set in the kitchen And you're talking to me
It's the age of princesses and pirate ships And the seven dwarfs And Daddy's smart And you're the prettiest lady in the whole wide world. And now I know why the all the trees change in the fall
I know you were on my side Even when I was wrong And I love you for giving me your eyes Staying back and watching me shine and I didn't know if you knew So I'm taking this chance to say That I had the best day with you today”
After Y/n finishes the song, everyone stands to their feet clapping. Y/n smiles and walks off the stage. She quickly puts her guitar in her case and walks out to see her mom standing with tears in her eyes.
Y/n quickly walks over and hugs Lorelai tightly. “I love you mama” Y/n whispers causing Lorelai to tighten her grip. “I love you to honey. Thank you for that beautiful song” Lorelai says as they pull away. They walk off and meet up with the rest of their family.
