[The Start

One of my worst fears is that people could see me try

and not succeed,

that someone witnesses me starting over

after a failed attempt,

the reaction to me trying something new

and it not being an immediate triumph.

Do I know that nobody is perfect?

Yes.

Do I know that nobody gets to judge me for trying?

Yes.

Do I still want perfection from second one?

Also yes.

It’s practice that makes perfect,

it’s repetition that has the desired effect,

even the most talented people need to rehearse –

they just don’t see exercise as a failure.

Yet here I am, my head stuck with worry,

hoping to someday be a success.

Perfection is repetition,

and luck,

since the more perfect you are,

Ive said this before but swear the biggest skill to learn as an adult is how to resist high-pressure sales tactics. You do NOT have to answer questions with anything other than "Sorry I'm not interested." No matter how nice they are or no matter how many follow up questions they ask or even how agitated they get when you stand your ground. Just keep saying I'm not interested. Don't answer their questions. Don't give them an opening to try to push back on your reasons. Be a fucking brick wall of I'm not interested.
