I did a little art challenge with my friend. We needed to draw two random Ted lasso characters spending time together. something like this

“no, roy doesn’t like me like that.” jamie insists while the team is at the bar. “roy hates me still. love ain’t on the table.”

everyone shares a glance, unable to really believe that.

isaac watched as jamie wordlessly walked over to where roy was eating lunch and handed over his clementines. roy peeled them without breaking conversation with beard and nate, going so far as to peel the little white bits off too before handing the clementine back. everyday jamie does that, and everyday roy peels them without complaint. if that’s not love, isaac doesn’t know what is.

sam overheard as jamie talked for several minutes about something so random and inconsequential to their daily lives, but roy listened. he didn’t say a word, didn’t interrupt other than to add a little tidbit of his own to the story. there was a small smile on the corner of his lips and his eyes were bright. it didn’t matter how boring the topic was, roy wanted to hear it. if that’s not love, sam doesn’t know what is.

the whole team witnessed roy coming into the locker room before training and saw jamie wasn’t there. they all watched as roy began to pace around his office, head down and not speaking to anyone. that is, until jamie came strolling into the locker room a minute before training started, drinks in his hand; one for him and one for roy. jamie knows roy’s coffee order by heart. if that’s not love, the team doesn’t know what is.

keeley pointed out that whenever roy says something that causes the team to laugh, he always looks at jamie to see if he’s laughing. if jamie’s not, roy adds to the joke until he does. if that’s not love, she doesn’t know what is.

“and,” jan says pointedly. “the two of you were kissing in the boot room yesterday.”

“yeah, out of hate!” jamie defends even when everyone starts laughing uncontrollably.

Colin and Isaac just have the most beautiful friendship. I love how comfortable Isaac feels asking Colin all these questions, and how comfortable Colin feels answering. I love how he tells Issac he’ll never guess the fittest on the team and he does right away because they are on the same wavelength and just know each other so well. I love that even without saying it, without needing to say it, they know the my have so much love for each other.

Jamie tartt. my son. i could talk about him for hours. the way his first instinct was to flinch when dani went for a high five. the way he tried so hard to impress his dad and yet all his dad had to do/say was point out his flaws and what he did wrong, not what he did good. the way he wasn’t shocked when ted looked away and left after seeing what his dad did (not Ted hate at all) because he was used to people turning a blind eye. the way he looked so scared after the woman had spoken to him at the charity auction. the way he was jealous of henry and ted and Sam and Ola, because he wants a relationship liek that eith his dad. the way he cries. the way he clings to him mum. the way young jamie idolised roy kent only for them to (temporarily) hate eachother. the way he ran off to be on a reality tv show just to get away from his dad. the way young Jamie would’ve looked up to his dad and start to resent his mum for not letting him see his dad, until his dad started coming around more and showing his true colours. the way he hangs his head like a child when he gets shouted at. the way he tries so hard to be the best. the way he is my son. the way I cannot deal. and yes he is a grown man but idc. im this way with every one of those grown fictiinal footballers. they are all my sons.

When Roy gets mad at the team for not speaking up to defend his ass after getting yelled at by Rebecca, Isaac mumbles “He’s right, we’re cowards” and that line is just taken as a joke, especially viewed just in the context of that scene.

but in the context of that whole episode, Isaac realized that he was acting cowardly for not sticking up for a friend when he fully had the ability to. So when the “fan” said the slur, Isaac didn’t take the cowardly approach, instead he stood up for his teammate and best friend. 

It may not have been the best choice to hop up in the stands, but he learned from his mistake with not defending Roy, as playful as the scene was, and made sure to support his best friend when it was more important than Roy’s hairy ass.

Isaac may not be the best with words, but he wanted to show Colin that he supported him despite being angry at him.

So many details and amazing scenes in 03x7 of Ted Lasso. I love that episode.

Detail 1: Nate not spitting when he asks Jade out. Shows the beginning of his redeem arc (is that the correct thing?). Also shows that Jade is important to him.

Detail 2: Sam's dad pinching his ears while comforting him.

Detail 3: Jamie's String size, lmaoooooooooo.

Detail 4: Ted being comfortable with giving the finger. Openly giving it to Jamie.

And my favorite scenes, in no particular order:

Scene 1: Roy turning into Ted and immediately regretting it. Every. Time.

Scene 2: The entire team giving Jamie the middle finger.

Scene 3: Roy's sadistic laugh as the team runs around in pain.

Scene 4: Nate making a box to ask Jade out.

Scene 5: Sam running to his father as soon as he sees him. Shows what a healthy relationship he has.

Scene 6: The whole team working together to put that one bottle in Will's crate.

Scene 7: The last scene, when the team surprises Sam and come and fix his restaurant.

Scene 8: Will as Beard.

And yes I will keep talking about Ted Lasso cause life is slightly shit and I need to restore my faith in humanity. Please bear with me.
