Isagi: he should be playing midfield, why are he, Ego, and the narrative convinced that Isagi's mean to be a striker? mf should be in the midfield!!!

25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?

Isagi: loved him pretty much from the get go, my favourite kind of characters are ones who fit the 'aw little guy!' 'oh he's a bit fucked up actually' archetype and immediately in chapter one he has his screaming in the middle of the street and 'I am a striker!!' moments so I knew he was deranged and fucked in the head

Rin: his introduction was really cool so immediately I thought he was interesting and intimidating, and as we learned more about him I found myself liking him more and more

It's somewhat similar to what Isagi does, but in a more straightforward and dynamic way.

Blue Lock Original Character

So the first post of this got zero notes so this is take two! And if it doesn't succeed here, AO3 is working with me again so I can upload it there lmao. Anyways welcome! This will be a mostly self-motivated series that focuses around my bllk oc, Ezena Kaneko, and my friend @novinight-pjo's oc, Leo Zahide! The two are childhood online friends that lost contact, but are reconnecting through the NEL. Except they haven't met yet. This drabble is to set the stage for their eventual meeting and even more eventual realization of their former friendship.

Part 1: A New Kind of Environment

Ezena has been on Bastard München for 8 minutes and they regret it already. They thought the only daunting issue on the team would be Noel Noa, given he’s the number one striker and that’s intimidating as fuck. But no! Now there’s a prissy ass theater kid who blocked Isagi’s shot (another rival for Isagi’s harem, fun!) and made a whole speech that no one understood. Which. Is kinda lame. They snickered when it happened, but once translators were in, it became apparent that this rat-tailed person was just Like That.

Ezena eyes the rankings, noting their spot at 14th. Not too bad, but could definitely be better. Then again, they can’t say they were trying their hardest. They sigh. Time to see if the “Wild Card” guy will offer tips…

“Then again, he doesn’t look very friendly..” Ezena mutters to themselves. Oh well. They’ll figure it out later.

“Later” comes sooner than expected, as their assigned a room with not only the Wild Card, but also with the theater kid and his lackey. Both of whom immediately throw a fit over rooming with “peasants.”

“Tch. Can’t believe I need to room with peasants.” Rat-tails sniffs haughtily, the cute brunette next to them nodding aggressively. “They shouldn’t be anywhere near you, it's basically treason!”

Ezena stares at Kunigami, who grunts and continues putting down his stuff. They realize they’re being left to defend their honor. Just their luck. The brunette looks back at the Bastard players, noting their disdainful glares. “I’m sure you can ask Noa for a room change…?”

“Ugh, this is probably what the shitty master meant when he told me to prepare myself..” Ezena is completely ignored as the blonde pinches their nose. “Asking for a room change will be like losing a match now.” The blonde glares at them, walking over to look down his nose at their shorter form. Not for the first nor final time, Ezena curses their height. “Are the B-ranked players too weak to handle the attitude of the next number 1? Is that it?”

Ezena blinks slowly, unsure on how to respond. “No..?”

He glares coldly down at her for a moment longer. Ezena blinks again, forcing themselves to not overthink right now. Eventually, he steps away. “Hm. Alexis, let’s go. It’s bath time.”

Alexis, as it seems his name is, nods obediently. “Right!”

The two Germans exit the room, leaving Ezena alone with the antisocial striker. They turn to face him. “So…”

“I’m also going to bathe.” He answers curtly as he grabs a towel and leaves the room as well. The brunette blinks. “Okay then. Guess that’s that.”

They robotically turn around to their bed, grab a pillow, and proceed to scream as loud as they can into it. “I am SO not surviving this league.”

Ezena Kaneko, 17 year old football player, killed by the sport they’ve played since age 4. They sigh as they think about it. Their brother might laugh if that truly was how the blasian was to meet their end.

“Still…” Ezena murmurs slowly, thinking of all they did to get them here. They had been playing football since some boys on the street kicked a ball in their direction back when they lived in Nigeria. The boys had quickly brought the ball away, saying that they didn’t want to hurt the (former) girl. But Ezena hadn’t taken no for an answer and forced those boys to teach them how to play. They loved it. Football was fun and that fun remained, even when their family moved to America, giving Ezena the opportunity to transition and become a man. Not even losing their online friend could extinguish their love, though it was hard. (They miss lemon. They miss him so much-) And when they arrived home after another disappointing match with their disappointing team to see a letter from the JFU on the table? Asking them, Ezena Kaneko, star player for the so-so team of Shibuya Academy, to participate in a project? They had to participate. Even if it meant uprooting their academic and social life, uprooting everything that wasn’t football, they would do it. Because their choices were that or lose their love for football forever.

Ezena exhales, long and loudly in the empty room. “Too late to turn back now.”
