You had asked Leon if it was really a smart idea to teach her to read earlier than her peers, but as you close your eyes and lay in bed before her bedtime, you really don't find it in yourself to complain.

Leon fights the smile that threatens to crack on his face. "Just a quick kiss?"

"Yes." She pouts. "On the mouth."

You feel Leon's breath against your cheek, failing to fight the smile that breaks on your lips as you hold back a laugh. Leon brushes your hair to the side as he glances at your daughter for her approval, and presses a quick kiss to your lips before you open your eyes slowly.

"And then how does it go, baby?"

"And then." Your daughter flips the page, pointing at you with a puff of her chest. "Mommy stares at daddy."

You listen, staring at Leon's face as he smiles back down at you, waiting for your daughter to give the next order.

Instead, the two of you are met with a yawn from her mouth.

"Okay, baby." Leon gets up to lift her into his arms, pressing his lips to her cheek as she whines. "It seems like this princess' body wants some rest."

"But we didn't finish the story..."

"And they lived happily ever after, right?" You brush her hair to the side, smiling. "The end."

"The people have to wake up first."

"Both mommy and daddy are awake now, hm? Rest well, baby. We'll be here in the morning." Leon pats her back gently as she closes her eyes.

"'night daddy... 'night mommy."

"Sleep well, baby." You scratch gently at her scalp as her breathing slows. "She's so cute."

"The cutest." Leon whispers, hand reaching for yours as he starts towards her room. "Really makes me want another one."

"Okay, not that cute, babe." You mumble, following him anyway. "Is she not enough?"

"She's more than enough, sweetheart." He gives your hand a squeeze. "Thank you, honey. I love you."

"Love you too, Leon."

#I watched it today it was so good #im not big on dinosaur stuff but i like how it was used to approach the predator/prey conversation especially when both sides are sentient #instead of just defaulting to well since predators are meat eaters their actions are automatically immoral so their role in the story #has to match. and then when your characters /are/ meat eaters you just step around that whole topic #heart knows he has to kill and eat so there’s no avoiding it but even he knows he has agency over that #hell he even decided to hunt by himself so umasou doesn’t have to see him kill and eat another dinosaur a day after meeting him #and maybe its because it’s a kids movie but it also doesn’t make a big show over the act of hunting and eating. it doesn’t dwell on it #like yes you can clearly see them ripping into guts minus the graphic details but it doesnt go out of its way to censor it either #its played straight just like hearts mom having more kids like nobody asks who the father is or when that happened cuz it doesn’t matter #what matters is she still loves heart and encourages her kids to greet their big brother and they do!!! it’s sweet #Beckon was also an interesting touch bc they make it clear the only reason he doesnt eat umasou is bc he cant and not that he wouldn’t #but he’s still a funny and interesting character and that doesn’t get in the way of how we see him too much #same for baku he was pretty polite with heart esp from the start when he asks him if hes abandoned implying he would be prepared to #look out for him from the start. and at the end when he decides to spare him. I dont hate him at all hes just intimidating #you are umasou #doodles #I wanted to draw smth more detailed but I couldn’t decide if I wanted to go with the cartoony art style #or smth closer to realistic?? so this is like. some sort of compromise I guess

They cycle between sobbing on one and another and aggressively making out. ) but it's true that they have both changed. It's been twenty hard years after all. So

Odypen courting each other again just for the fun of it. Odypen deciding to act like teenagers again and make elaborate plans pretending to sneak into the others room.

Odysseus sending penelopes 90 year old dad a letter challenging him to a race for penelopes hand in marriage. (This does not go over well but penelope though it was hilarious)

Odysseus begging Athena to help him win penelopes heart/hand again. (Athena: What no why you're already married I don't understand you ) (she helps anyways)

Penelope weaving all of odysseus's clothes. Penelope hauling out every tapestry she made of telemachus's childhood (she made one for every year. To gift odysseus on his birthday when he returned.)

Odypen leaving telemachus incharge while they go off on dates (to harssass, cause problems, and badger other people into giving them things). It should be fine Athena has been sticking close to the house lately. And it's only for an afternoon anyways (at first. Headcanon that penelope came with odysseus when he had to go plant the oar and call it a windmill quest.)
