Echo and Omega

I’m reposting this with the video in case you’d like to see the process. This song was on replay while I was painting this scene, so I knew it had to go with the speedpaint.

I’m hoping Echo and Omega will have the opportunity to hug again and that this isn’t the end... Please Filoni, let my boy make it out of there alive.

Pt. 5. TBB Headcannons they probably deserve.

…and I fell into the black abyss between doing things. I’m stuck. Help. T_T

(I’ll be fine, don’t worry.)

Anywayday, today’s fine boi(tm) is our poor traumatized sad boy Echo. No one can disrespect Echo. Poor baby has been through too much. He just needs a soft jumper, a warm hug, and some hot choccy, okay?

But! To business!

Echo is the Mum(tm) Figure. (Yes Mum, I’m an Aussie. I can and will fight God and America. Watch me.) He’s the 2IC of decisions after Hunter. Sometimes even before. Particularly decisions concerning Omega. It’s unspoken agreement in the Batch to run things past Echo if Hunter has no immediate answer. Hunter agrees.

His robot limbs can lock up. Simply stop working. So Echo keeps them in almost better condition than he keeps himself.

Drinks one of two (2) things in the morning. Black caf or hot chocolate with extra marshmallows. Each drink has a day’s set mood associated with it. Force forbid if Echo decides to drink alcohol in the morning. EVERYONE that day better watch out… or else.

Loves really soft jumpers. Soft, silky type things. Fluffy? Depends. Goes jumper shopping with Tech. Listens in silence to all the varied fabrics/fibres benefits Tech can and will list off to any and all jumpers.

Is the Emotional Support(tm) clone. Almost like the Batch’s therapist. Matters of the heart? Echo can help. Matters of the mind? Echo’s got you. Matters of the stupidity? GODDAMN has Echo got advice for you. (Warning: it’ll hurt.)

Sleeps like a mummy. (When he sleeps, poor baby.) Doesn’t move all night. Crosshair once made a comment that if Echo died, his funeral position was already determined. Echo replied that he’d like to die - just so he could haunt the living sh$t out of people. Crosshair didn’t make the comment again.

Gives the best hugs out of the whole Batch. Knows when people need hugs too. Probably because he needs a hug himself. Crosshair cried the first time he got an Echo hug.

Absolutely gives Omega piggyback rides. 100%.

Is Force sensitive - but realises it VERY slowly. (I think Fives was Force sensitive too btw). After the finale, he has time to cogitate on this disturbing discovery - which culminates in Force ghost Fives appearing and offering advice. Echo initially goes apesh$t, but finally gets the closure he needed surrounding Fives. (The Batch have a hard time getting used to Echo’s conversations with an invisible vod.)

Can and will fight God or Palpatine. But is too tired too. Would probably just project his crippling depression onto them and watch them wither away with satisfaction.

Often gets frustrated by being left-handed, but keeps his droid attachment on most to condition himself to being ambidextrous. (Tech did make him a hand attachment - Echo uses it occasionally.)

Is in unspoken charge of the Batch should anything happen to Hunter. And knows it.

If Hunter needs a break… Echo needs goddamn RETIREMENT. Dude has been through too much.

And he just needs closure on Fives, okay? :(

I don't have an exact sentence, but this happens after Season 3 Episode 8. Omega expresses that she endured worse on Kamino than on Tantiss. Much worse.

During a subsequent talk between Omega and Echo, Omega alludes to how dark, and horrific, her past on Kamino is.

I understand if you're unsure about doing this, but I would absolutely love it if you did.

Non romantic oneshots aren't really my thing, but this request did lit up interesting ideas in my head, so why not?

One angsty heartfelt conversation with these two sweethearts coming right up, & some comfort too!

"QUIET NIGHTS"

TBB REQUESTS –NON ROMANTIC ECHO&OMEGA 📩💔💖

WARNINGS: REFERENCES TO DARKNESS, LONELINESS, KAMINO&TANTISS&ECHO'S TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE. TECH LIVES BECAUSE I SAY SO.

It was one of those quiet nights. Crosshair was out on a date. Tech had dissapeared with Phee hours ago; Hunter had quickly retired to his bunk after experiencing a strong migraine, and Wrecker was sound asleep too. However, Omega couldn't find her own sleep; and quickly taking a glance at his brother's room, he saw that Echo couldn't either.

Her naked toes quietly advanced in the direction of the cockpit. There he was; Echo sitting in the copilot's seat and staring distractedly through the window, out to the stars on Pabu's peacefull night. By the expression on his face, Omega knew his mind felt anything but that; Echo's frown transforming his features into something painfull. She wondered if he was having nightmares too.

"Bad memories?" She quietly asked, jumping onto the pilot seat besides him.

Echo sighed, still staring at the stars.

"Yeah" was his only quiet answer, and Omega gave him time.

She thought on her own nightmares for several minutes; trying to reorganize her thoughts.

"Are you having trouble sleeping after Tantiss?" Echo then asks, finally turning in his chair to pay her undivided attention.

Omega shrugs.

"Kinda".

Echo's features fill with sympathy.

"Must have been horrible, being trapped in there" Echo shudders, remembering his own experiences with closed spaces.

To his surprise, Omega shrugs again.

"Not really" she answers, strangely unbothered. "I mean, it's not like I wanted to be there... But I've had it much worse".

Echo stares at her, and Omega feels like she needs to explain herself. Her feet come up to rest on the edge of the seat, chin resting on top of her knees. She's unconsciously making herself small.

"Kamino. That was worse than everything".

Silence fills the room.

Echo frowns. He had had his own fair of bad experiences with the long-necks and the way he and his brothers were treated; but that being worse than being on Imperial control?

"How so?" He carefully asks.

Omega's answer breaks his heart.

"Loneliness. My days in Kamino were dark and challenging; same in Tantiss. But at least while staying in Tantiss I knew I had you, even if you weren't there. In Kamino, before I met you all..." she pauses and flinches with the memories of her past. "I didn't have that. Didn't have the knowledge that you'd be waiting for me, looking for me. That I had someone on my side. That someone cared. That I wasn't alone. In Tantiss I remembered all the happy memories I had with you all. It gave me hope. In Kamino... It was terryfying being so alone".

Omega hadn't meant to say as much; but once she had started talking, the words had flied out of her mouth. Echo's patient and listens carefully; eyes filling with understanding and left hand slowly extending towards her. When it lands on her shoulder and squeezes gently, Omega relaxes and sighs. Her big eyes turn back towards him.

"Did you..." she hesitates. "Did you feel alone when you were with the Techno Union, Echo? Or you... didn't feel anything at all?"

Echo's experience has always been a banned theme of conversation in the Marauder; but Omega asks with no malice, almost begging for someone to understand her, and Echo feels like she's revealed so much of her own feelings and thoughts he kinda owes it to her. He loves her sister so much... If sharing trauma will make her feel better and help her process her memories best, he'd tell her anything she asked for.

"I did, yeah" the tremble that breaks througj his body at remembering is inevitable. "I wasn't conscious all the time, but in the middle of the dizzyness and confussion, i remember being scared and terrified. I didn't understand what was happening most of the time. Sometimes I did. I just wanted to go back to my brothers, out of that... Thing, to be freed. To be me. Loneliness is one of the worst feelings in the world, yes."

It somehow soothes some internal part of him, speaking it out loud. Maybe this conversation will serve them both good.

Omega reaches out and mimicks his previous gesture; squeezing his shoulder gently.

"I'm sorry you had to go through all that, Echo. I'm so happy I have all of you now..." her voice is soft and reverent.

Sadness dissappears from Echo's eyes. He looks at her; at how her features have morphed from a kid's to a teenager and then continued changing to a young woman. They're lucky to have her.

"I'm sorry you had to go through that too, Meg" he answers, quietly, gently.

He gives her a small smile, and stands up offering his hand to her.

"How about we both try to nap together, troublemaker?"

Omega smiles. It feels him with warmth.

"Alright" she agrees, slipping her hand onto his and walking with him in the direction of the bunk room. "A pair of hours is better than none. Cross won't be happy we invade his bed for the night, though".

Echo snorts.

"The motherfucker still complains about his perfectly comfortable bed when he's well aware I still sleep in a hammock" he mutters, then grins at her. "He'll be alright".

OK. I have a fanfic idea.

“Hey, tell me what’s wrong?” -Echo to Omega.

"What did I do to push you away?" -Omega to Echo.

Echo arrives on Pabu. Although Omega is overjoyed to see him, the guilt over him leaving in the first place lingers. Echo talks to Omega to reassure her that Omega didn't push him away.

It's been awhile I haven't this request and I'll do it. So sorry it took so long to finish.

A sunny day was a perfect time to go to beach and have fun with the sea or sand however Omega just sat on the giant rock as holding her com-link, thinking and worrying if Echo would be alright out there.

Batcher noticed and walked to reassure her, she licked Omega's cheek which Omega quickly chuckled as staring at her.

"Hello girl." Omega rubbed Batcher's head.

Soon after that, they noticed a familiar ship that they had been waiting for "Come on, girl. We better meet him." They rushed climbing on the mountain.

Arrived at the top, Echo showed off as Omega calling him "Echo !" She immediately hugged him as he smiling at her "Hi kid. You're getting so tall."

Batcher barked as walking closer to get Echo's attention "Don't worry, I won't forget about you, Batcher." He rubbed Batcher's head.

"Where's the others ?" Echo asked and Omega replied "They're working right now but they'll be back for dinner tonight." "I'm sure they will."

As they were on their way to the house, Echo noticed Omega's overjoyed face turned to be a guilty face "Hey, are you alright ?" He tried to make her stare at him.

Omega tried to distract "Yeah, just getting hot today but we won't be long to be home." Echo stopped her by put his left hand on her shoulder "Hey..." As Omega staring at him, he asked "Hey, tell me what's wrong ?"

Omega sighed "What did I do to push you away ?"

Echo put his left hand on her shoulder "Omega, you never been pushed me away. It's just I'm in a different path now, I want to help people in need just like you but you also deserve to be a kid for a little longer."

Omega got the point but she was still sad that he would leave again and worrying about him again.

"Hey, someday when you're getting older and the time has come, you could make some big desicions like we are. Hunter, Wrecker and Crosshair decided to live in peace to raise a strong beautiful lady right here." He touched her cheek, Omega chuckled.

"Do you think you can visit me again with Emerie next month ? My birthday's coming soon and this time will be special.

"I would do my best to make that happen." He replied and she smiled.

"Okay, let's not keeping our brothers waiting too long." As Batcher took a lead to walk to their house.
