anyway, this is a redraw of this drawing i did half a year ago apparently. it felt longer

Alright. I came across someone saying that Rick "put Jason in a pedestal" and "overhyped" him by emphasizing how good looking he is and that Jason shouldn't have been so attractive looking. (Tbf tho that person made it sound like they seemed more mad bc their least favourite character was considered good looking lol) but I'll yap about the significance here anyways. Beware of a very long yapping session below.

I do understand their frustration though, because jason getting told that he looks good all the time makes it seem very shallow and unfair to the others.

And let me tell you, Jason is SUPPOSED to be gorgeous looking in everyone's eyes. He is supposed to be conventionally handsome, Rick didn't intend for his looks to be "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder " or something like Percy's (like how Piper didn't find him as impressive) Percy's is supposed to be more authentic. Percy's character isnt centred in people idolizing him, everyone can acknowledge that he's handsome looking, but it isn't in a "perfect" type of way, he's a carefree spirit and that reflects on his looks. While Jason is hardwired as this ethereal looking hero in people's eyes that not even ONE can deny that he looks good, bc ppl in Rome had set him as the "standard". Jason said this before in the lost hero, that him being a son of Jupiter, makes him feel like the support he gets is only because his dad is a very regal and intimidating figure.

That's kind of the whole point, he's supposed to look like this perfect man who can do no wrong. His "Golden noble boy" arc is literally the whole concept of his character. Why else do you think rick wrote Aphrodite approving of Jason's looks saying that he needed no improvement (which she rarely does) ?

Because Jason is supposed to be put like a statue to admire and idolize, that's ALSO why rick made sure to add that Jason looks like a Roman sculpture, bc that's like a metaphor for his inner conflicts. The guy was put like an artifact for people to ogle at in camp Jupiter ever since he was a kid of 4. That's part of the tragedy.

Annabeth said it perfectly “Annabeth tried to hide it, but she still didn’t completely trust the guy. He acted too perfect - always following the rules, always doing the honorable thing. He even looked too perfect. In the back of her mind, she had a nagging thought. What if this is a trick and he betrayed us?” Mark of Athena, page 6.

His mother, whom he's supposed to look like, is also a literal world wide tv actress. So you can't expect anything less either.

Also, Jason is supposed to mirror Percy. And let's be real. Rick put Percy in a VERY high pedestal looks wise, aswell, Not just Jason. And that's okay.

Rick made Hazel mistake Percy for a literal god because he was just that good looking (tbf, in a way, when I was younger, I found this to be a little bit of an exaggeration, bro was covered in mud and seaweed and was compared to a god, it was rlly funny to a 10 year old me 😭 yeah but don't mind this though, this was just a younger me jealous that I couldn't be as pretty as Percy was in mud lol) If Percy can be "hyped" up so "unrealistically" in that particular situation then so can Jason. They are both literal half gods, so unrealistic praise is very normal) and rick also made sure to emphasize that almost all the teen characters had a crush on Percy. So apparently that isn't called putting a character in a pedestal but Jason's is? They are BOTH put in pedestals, because they're both heroes.

Jason and Percy are supposed to be equals, so both of them being in the top two when it comes to looks makes SENSE. Because people are supposed to argue about who is better looking, since they're written as foils.

You cannot expect rick to make Percy look like a god and Jason look like a rat 😭 then there's no point of having them as parallels if one has the upper hand in something. Rick did a good job by conveying that they are BOTH attractive, but in different ways. That's why the Percy/Jason looks debate always have mixed answers.

Jason getting complimented by Aphrodite, the GODDESS of beauty, for his looks and her saying that he didn't have anything to "fix" in his face BC it already looks gorgeous = Percy getting compared to a gorgeous Roman god by hazel. They are both equal comparisons in slightly different tones.

Saviour

Opening your eyes you take in your surroundings. You're in Ormond. Quickly you decide to look for a totem since you're running Inner Strength.

After some while of running sround you finally find a totem in the corner of the killer shack. But you weren't alone. Mikaela also just arrived at the shack and started to work on the totem, she probably runs a Boon perk.

"Uhm, Mikaela... Could I maybe have this totem? I have Inner Strength, I could-" She glances at you and grunts. "Why don't you go find another totem?" You tilt your head. She never has been so mean, but maybe she had a bad day. You nod. "Yeah true..." You sigh and decide to work on a gen for now, you're sure you'll find another totem somewhere else on the map.

Just as you work on the gen, Jake rushes towards your gen - he's injured. Quickly you get up and try to heal him, but he backs away. "Don't touch me, I don't need your help!" You raise an eyebrow. "But. You're injured?" He starts to work on the gen and continues to groan in pain. You decide to also continue working on the machine. "Jake, I really hate to bug you, but you really should-" "Shut the fuck up and leave me alone!"

Quietly you let go of the issue and shake your head. What's up with him? Did he also have a bad day? A bad trial? More than one bad trial? Well, you didn't want to push any further... The gen is repaired and Jake takes off, leaving you behind, confused and thinking.

After some time you see a totem behind some crates and you quickly destroy it, unlocking Inner Strength. Well, at least something positive!

After some while the killer had downed it's first victim - Jake. You didn't feel to bad... He didn't want to get healed after all! Soon after Jake got hooked another scream erupted from within Ormond. Mikaela also met her demise. She also got hooked. You didn't meet the fourth survivor yet. Let's just hope they didn't have a bad day aswell...

Just as you were thinking that you run into said survivor. It was David. With a thud you fell on your butt. "Oh David! I'm sorry, I didn't see you-" "Quit the bullshit! Everybody knows you're working with the killer!" Your eyes went wide. "What? What are you talking about? I never worked together with any killer!" How could he say that?? What did he mean by 'everyone'??

He pushed you out of the way and makes his way over to the hooked survivors. You look after him as you could feel hot tears starting to run down your cheeks. "What the fuck..."

You trot over the map. Mikaela and Jake had been saved a while ago but you had lost your fighting spirit for this trial already. And you didn't meet the killer yet.

Let's analyze this! You were friends with some of the nicer killers like Susie, Rin, Anna, Carmina, Trickster and even Danny.

Susie is a nice girl, always listening to you and talking to you about all kinds of stuff. Like the rest of the Legion she is always down for the weirdest shenanigans.

Anna is a big woman, her hugs are almost bone crushing yet she always takes care of you outside of the trials telling you different russian fairy tales.

Even though you were friends with Rin, she is more reserved than Susie or Anna. You love to style her hair and learn more about japanese culture. But most of the time she rather wants to be alone than have any company. In all honesty she is ashamed of how she looks. Poor girl...

Carmina is a nice company. Sometimes you chill in her realm, watching her feeding the crows and paint new pictures. One time she surprised you with a picture of you she drew. You liked it alot and she was happy, letting out a proud croak.

Trickster. A hard case. Yes, you were some kind of friends with him. He LOVES talking about himself, his incredible shows, his murders and everything involving him in general. This man is in love with himself and sometimes it's annoying as fuck but you stick around because you're the only survivor he still kind of tolerates.

And the last person - Danny. Infamously known as Ghostface. He is really something. A deadly and quiet stalker, always there when you need him. He also is narcissistic but not as much as Trickster. He likes to talk about the murders he commited when he wasn't in the entitys world. You couldn't see his face but everytime he talked about this topic you could swear he has a big ass smile plastered on his face. And to admit this you kind of have a weakness for the masked stalker.

Looking around you decide to go for the gen in Ormond. Someone has already started to work on it but the killer has destroyed it. Just as you sit down Mikaela comes running towards you and groans in pain. "Heal me!" You get up and look at her. "You could ask me nicely instead..." Not waiting for her answer you still start to patch her up as she backs away and pushes you back, running out of the house.

You gasp as you fall against a hard thing. Immediately an arm wraps around your neck. "Hey doll... What's up? Didn't see you all trial, it was about time, don't you say?" Danny. Of course. Why didn't you notice that sooner...

"Please hook me. I want this trial to be over." He huffs. "You're no fun." He removes his arm and puts a hand onto his hip, making him look a little bit like a Karen. "Hm... I'll get back to you."

After some time Danny downed Jake, Mikaela and David, having them laying on the floor. You were still working on the gen in Ormond, not able to concetrate. The gen had blown up many times even though you were REALLY trying to make it work. Maybe todays events just got to your head...

Danny comes back and grabs your arm. Without questioning him you follow and see your fellow survivors laying on the ground, whincing in pain losing a lot of blood. David looks up to you. "(Y/n)! Heal- I fucking knew it... You're working with the killer! I fucking knew it!!" Mikaela and Jake look at you with looks of disapproval, annoyance and hate. All mixed feelings, but not good ones.

Danny grins and kneels down in front of David. "Heh.. I'll be right back." He brings Jake to the hook and then Mikaela. They get sacrificed immediately. Like promised, Danny comes back. You were still standing there, not knowing what to do. You WANTED to heal David, but after him being an asshole and just treating you like shit you were starting to question things.

Danny chuckles and hands you his knife. "Now (Y/n)... Why don't you show David what you think about his mean mean behaviour earlier? I think he needs to be punished..." He puts his head on your shoulder. "C'mon... Make me proud..."

You look at Danny and grab the knife tightly in your hand kneeling down in front of David. "David...", you start. David huffs. "You're a fucking traitor... You're the reason we always lose when we're teamed up with you... Sometimes I wish you were fucking dead. Forever."

Those words hurt. Like someone plunging multiple needles in your heart. David was always a guy who loved to brag about his fights but he was there when needed in trials. But now. You despise him. You really do.

You look at the knife in your hand, knuckles white from gripping the knife so hard. David grins. "You're weak... I knew you-" Before the brit could finish his sentence you plunged the knife in his neck, making him bleed even more. He gurgles for a few seconds before closing his eyes. Now he was really dead. Not sacrificed and not mori'd... At least not by a killer.

You slowly get up and look at your now bloody hands. From behind you you could hear slow claps. Slow claps. Just like a villain in a superhero movie. You turn around.

"Damn... I really didn't think you would be able to do that... Yet you proofed me wrong. Interesting..." He smiled and takes the knife from you, cleaning it from Davids blood. Danny sighs. "Saw how they treated you earlier... I couldn't let that go 'unseen'." He sits down on one of the benches, manspreading. Quickly he pats his thigh. Not even knowing what you're doing you sit down on his thigh and let your head fall against his shoulder.

"I didn't even see you.." Danny nods. "Of course. I am Ghostface, I am a master at staying hidden." He sighs and puts his hand on your head soothingly caressing your hair.

"I didn't think survivors could be like this... Y'all are supposed to stick together when a killer is trying to. Well kill you." You sigh audibly. "I was confused and then I thought they were referring to my friendships with some of the killers including you... I didn't even know you were the killer until Mikaela pushed me into you."

"Yeah, what a move."

The wind is blowing and you shiver. Danny notices this and holds you closer to him. "Cold, are we?" He move his free hand to his mask and. Removes it?! You have never seen Danny without his mask and he looks really pretty... You look at him.

"You must trust me a lot to remove your mask..." He smiles a cheeky smile. "Think whatever you want about this. You should get the hatch as a little reward. For killing David and basically doing the dirty work for me." You just nod and get off his thigh. He grabs his mask but isn't putting it on just yet.

After a while of looking for the hatch you finally find it in the killer shack. "I'll see you around. If you want it or not."

With that he pushes you into the hatch grinning. Just before you get engulfed in the black fog, you see him putting his mask back on.

What will the others think?

So i went to Takemura's hideout...

And while it is destroyed, there were some fun things to see that might shed some light on him as a person, his character Sure not all of these might be his, BUT im inclined to believe they are considering how the place was decorated, albeit hastily and maybe somewhat half-assed, with some japanese imagery Lets start with the kitchen

Tubs of protein powders, a tea cannister and a suspicious amount of tinned beef along with what looked like A LOT of pickled eggs, tea pot and cup and dirty dishes alongside a cooking station It seems he still tries to cook good food despite crashing in a severely run down place

A shard on the best restaurants in NC, not surprising, and a shard on japanese spirits, in particularly the bakeneko he tells us about on the rooftop

Over in the "living room" there's some vinyls, and i wonder if this is the music he likes, or if this was him trying out new things

and uh...a pipe ig, hm

Going over to the bedroom area, there were some wooden panels to spruce the place up a bit, aswell as what looked like a mural Sure, these might have already been here, but im somewhat inclined to think he placed all that there himself to make it nicer, and perhaps more like "home" or the environment hes used to

The bed is tidy, with only one pillow ON the bed (the other is on the floor next to it), theres an incense burner and some wooden wall panels and a nice painting to decorate

Weights, which is not that surprising, the man's in phenominal shape

Some peculiar magazines... His? Left there? Considering how tidy he is, i doubt they were there and he just left them lying around rather than picking them up

The desk area has other magazines, some empty ni-cola cans and takeaway boxes The shelf holds comics and books, and the wardrobes/lockers next to it has neatly folded clothes

Alright now...on the shelves with the comics and books, theres cigarette packs too, and when we move to the bathroom it checks out, theres cigarette butts in the toilet I guess our handsome silver fox is a smoker, oh well

Also in the bathroom is a washing machine, cleaning products, and a tidy sink area Sure he lives in a decrepit place, but at least he's neat and cleans his clothes

Theres also a suspicious amount of blood on the floor, including a bloody rag and fork on the toilet seat, pills (painkillers?) and gauze, did he dig out some bullets at some point?

Random theory while i was rewatching khux,

So all the dream eaters are Chirithy's wrapped around the sleeping hearts of the dandelions waiting to be awakened, and we know dream eaters are connected to regular people outside of the realm of sleep, the spirits consume nightmare and the nightmares consume good dreams of people, Riku becomes Sora's dream eater ect, and Chirithys are connected to people aswell, each being given to and assigned to a keykid (? daybreak townie? child soldier-) by Mom/the foretellers, and last but not least Kairi is connected to chirithy in some way, having chirithy ears on her kh3 outfit hood and all

But theres a connection were forgetting, Ventus Of the unique dream eaters we know of, we have Riku: Sora's dream eater, Chirithy: the first dream eaters, the boss nightmares, Nightmare Chirithy: both the purple version and the fused with Darkling version, the Anti Black Coat (i hate that name lmao): the physical manifestation of Sora's nightmare And Armoured Ventus Nightmare Ventus unconsciously wrapped his armour around Sora's sleeping heart to protect it, taking on the darkness and thus a nightmare form in the process, Ventus wraps himself around the sleeping Sora to protect him until he could be awoken, exactly like how the Chirithy's saved the Dandelions If Riku is Sora's Dream Eater then Ventus is his Chirithy Bonus design overanalyzing:

Ventus' colour is green, his wayfinder is green, his armour is green, his heart station is green, his colour on the trio heart station is green

But Ventus himself isn't very green until bbs, specifically the only green on his outfit is the keyblade armour

His colours line up more with Chirithys colour palette, curiously it is majority Spirit Chirithy's but i would say the black undershirt and specifically the red inside of his jacket actually remind me of Nightmare Chirithy's red cape underside, he may be majority light but darkness was lurking beneath him from the very beginning, becoming so intertwined with him that he gave that formless shadow a body and a mind

unfortunately i am now thinking about poking a ventus and vanitas redesign because the world is cruel and never lets me rest

okay fine. I need people to know this.

I feel like most tbhk fans are Christian from America and Europe. So they probably don't really think about the religion in tbhk but it actually has such a big role.

I'll get straight to the point, all of tbhk (or at least main charactes and the plot) is revolved around the worship of Kami ( 神 ) gods, spirits and supernaturals alike.

ThE most obvious ones are the seven mysteries themselves, yako in a kitsune (litterally fox) a fox spirit/yokai whom like to pull pranks of humans either by shaoeshifiting, seducing or even killing at points, this can be seen in yako's sort of cocky personality. Yako is more specifically an Inari statue of an Inari temple for the goddess of agriculture, they say it protects crops and foxes.

Tsuchigomori is a tsuchigomo (literally earth spider) it's a giant spider who can be at least as tall as 10 meters. In one story, minamoto no yorimitsu (or raiko) killed one and had found multiple skulls inside, obviusly implying that the creature eats humans.

Hakubo is an Oni, a general word for demonic creatures in Japanese, thought I can't pin point which exact one. Another story involving yorimitsu is the drunken demon, when hakubo was found by the exorcist he said to have given the biggest Oni poisoned sake, as the real story says that three old men gave yorimitsu and his men sake that revealed the oni's real appearance but didn't hurt humans because he prayed at 3 nearby shinto shrines, and later slashed his neck like in the original text.

Hanako is straightforward but it is different in almost all prefectures of japan.

The gist of it is that hanako was a little girl who died either by herself of by her classmates in the girls bathroom around 5-10 years old. She can grant your wish but is you make her angry she'll curse you with a painful and slow death that'll happen very soon. One prefecture even says that she died in the nuclear blast during the last years of ww2.

Im not sure where nº3, nº1 and nº4 come from.

Now Onto the more subtle details, you might ask "hold up Roy, but Japanese buddhisim is very in touch with supernaturals aswell, how do you know if it's japanese buddhisim or shinto?"

Well let's talk about the minamotos. As you might've read, yorimitsu killed many yokais, so he would be called an exorcist where now are kou and teru, the staff kou has is real and is in some temples, teru's bracelet wards off evil spirits in shinto (rather not talk about the Buddhist thoughts on it....) .well teru's blade is obviously not real as a sword like that would've been impractical.

The temple where Teru and Akane go during the severance is a shinto shrine, we can see this from the Torii gates and the architecture as well. The workers at the temple are also not bald therefore they aren't Buddhist monks. It was also very customary to serve tea to the visitors. On the front gate of the shrine there at this 'weird Rope' with papers attached on it, it's on most temples and its a direct reference to a story involving amaterasu , the sun goddess, wich i wont get into.

The train to the farshore is actually a story itself and the place being full of water isn't just an artistic choice but it rapresents the river to the farshore.

I don't have much c!niki knowledge I'm afraid however I will give what little hcs I have (also credit to my buddy @cinn-namon for half of these Eret HCs, if you want more feel free to mug him /hj)

Wilbur

- Prone to singing or humming whenever given the chance, when there's an audience he puts So Much Effort into it but he'll do it when he's alone aswell - Her first instinct in most situations is to laugh, she doesn't mean to but it just sorta slips out regardless of the circumstances - By far my wildest Wilbur hc: Wilbur is a nature spirit- my basis for this is mostly Greek mythology. In Greek mythology it's common for the children of gods and immortals to be some sort of nymph or dryad (basically a nature spirit) and the concept of nature spirits is a really vast one that can range from "pretty lady found in Trees" (Dryad) or "Unidentified mystical energy" for my HCs I tend to use more of the ladder. So Wilbur is a physical manifestation of the wilds, basically a shapeshifter but add a connection to the world itself. In theory he has no "true" form but the form he took when he was born was just a straight up fox (later learned how to shift into a more humanoid form as he grew) - More thoughts on nature spirit Wilbur ahead: how she appears and how well she can hold her form is entirely dependent on her current state, because of this she changed a lot between L'manburg and Pogtopia :3 When she first came to the SMP she looked almost entirely human, save for a few "off" traits (strange eyes, fangs, slightly pointed ears, ect.) but when Pogtopia hit she changed rather suddenly, becoming more like Fundy in appearance. Ghostbur was just a straight up spectral fox, and post revival Wilbur always has a few fox-like traits showing that she can't seem to get rid of - All of their mannerisms are slightly off- they don't quite emote "right". When they're fully human they come off as oddly animalistic, when they're more animal-like they're weirdly human. They tried to play themselves off as at least Mostly human for awhile but gave up pretty quickly - Has no fucking clue what his species is because of the samsung smart fridge nonsense- honestly he just assumes that he was Born Weird. When asked he's always weirdly cryptic about it - God awful cook, y'know those posts about people fucking up their food in unbelievable ways? That's Wilbur. Do not let her into the kitchen she will burn water - Disaster bi, seemingly most attracted to people who are either actively against her or have done shitty things to her in the past and she Cannot be normal about it (See: all of the shit said about Schlatt, Eret, Quackity, the list goes on) - Touchy but only when they're in a good mood. L'manburg era they'd always be putting an an arm around someone's shoulder or ruffling people's hair, small acts of physical affection, but any other time they've actively shied away from touch unless it's initiated by them. This is mostly because they're easily overstimulated by touch (despite being incredibly touch starved post revival)

Eret

- Wither hybrid, they can shift to hide some of their wither parts. When they were apart of L'manburg they also played themselves off as human - Loves to bake and stress bakes when especially stressed out- I like to think her and Niki would often bake together - Looking directly into his eyes activates a person's flight or fight response, which is why so many people have gotten Jumpscared by his eyes in the past - Probably has one of the best fashion senses in the entire SMP and yet only really dresses up whenever someone is coming over (90% of the time she just lounges about in comfy clothes, we love a comfy queen) - His memory is absolutely god awful so he's prone to writing things down or- more often- taking photos. A lot of the pictures from early L'manburg were taken by him - The L'manburg uniforms were made with Tommy and Eret's combined efforts (Wilbur supervised and occasionally stabbed himself trying to help <3) - Sews all of their own clothes, they'd love to sew for someone else but they haven't gotten the chance to outside of the uniforms (if they did they'd probably make an entire wardrobe though) - She's the one that taught Tommy to sew :3

Niki

- Catgirl c!niki supremacy - She likes churus (the cat treat) and will eat them like gogurt - Being as close to Wilbur as she was she's absolutely heard way too much about all of Wilbur's awful crushes on their enemies (she can never look at Eret the same way again) - She has autistic girl swagger idk what it is but she just does. Has the most unsettling stare known to man (by complete accident) - Despite being a cat hybrid she enjoys playing around in local bodies of water, big fan of stomping around in rivers

Yes. These are very good news, indeed. As far as I could check tonight, the gin is still not on the online menus of any of the four venues Kitchin owns in Scotland (The Kitchin, the Scran & Scallie gastropub, Bruntsfield restaurant KORA and The Bonnie Badger Inn in Gullane). However, the whisky is, except for KORA - with a rather steep price tag and exclusively served at the bar:

At least two of these are on a personal to-dine list and I whistled in awe at the spectacular French wine selection of The Bonnie Badger. On the UK's hospitality scene, Tom Kitchin is a bit of a superstar, since 2007, when he got his first (and, to date, only) Michelin star at just 29 years old - youngest chef ever to get it, worldwide - and after being in business for just about 6 months. That also means he's somewhat controversial, being accused of digging in the staff's tip box from time to time or shouting and banging pots and pans - the usual cantankerous demeanor of a true hands-on chef, a notoriously demanding job. He can't be worse than Marco Pierre White, though (whose memoir, Devil in the Kitchen, I warmly recommend, by the way).

That being said for pure context, I am over the moon for S. Great job and so well deserved! As for OL, well: I found it very interesting that the farther we go away from the EDI flagship restaurant, the less relevant and present it is -"in collaboration with SH from OL" at The Kitchin, then 'The Sassenach by SH' at the gastropub (EDI aswell) and then just 'The Sassenach' at the inn (coastal village). And that, Anon, is a very clever strategy: it means the locals will appreciate it for what it really is - a probably excellent blend.

It has been revealed in uncovered scripts that Winnie and Howdy had a bit of a rivalry due to them both owning shops in Home! However, in other scripts, aswell as media, they're shown to be in a relationship, or at least love interests!

Winnie Worksalott seemed to have been used as a free-hand puppet, with her hands being used as gloves whenever she was cooking on-screen, which happened quite often.

Poor Winnie seemed to be of a less frequent character, being more seen in the background, rather than being utilized in the episodes. However, there is reason to believe that she does have an important role in a good handful of episodes, as well as some other medias, such as merchandise and books!

Whoever you are, bless you. I mean, seriously. I have more than one, and really I have no idea which one I stick to, so I'm just gonna drop all I got. And this panel is what I'll be mainly using for

Why that specifically? Well, in the start of chapter 339, where I took that from, we do get to see panels of what seem to be the backgrounds of Shiki members, or that's what it seems like at least. Taking Kujaku and Fourth for example in this image

Both having their backgrounds presented + the text for each one of them fits them as well. That explaination wasn't that proper please forgive me my english is lowkey ass—

But anyway, back to that panel of Yakumo, let me point out some stuff from it and give some information for each:

Wagasa

A wagasa, also known as an oil paper umbrella, is a type of paper umbrella that originated in China but eventually spread across other countries, including Japan. Besides the ones shown in that panel, we can also see Yakumo holding one in chapter 321 (TWO for blood or smth incase if necessary-)

Since we only saw him using one for like... Two panels only, it probably won't be too accurate to say, but judging from how the head wheel and hand wheel look less thicker than a Chinese Wagasa, then his is most likely a Japanese one.

Onto the history and traditional stuff: When Wagasa were first introduced to Japan from China, they were initially used to shield the upper classes from sunlight and present/meddling evil spirits, which is why they were often red, just like seen in the image. But besides that history, in religious celebrations and weddings, they also used to shelter people from rain and sunlight, and to drive evil spirits away.

Besides red, that was mainly used to symbolize driving evil spirits away, there are other colors aswell: Purple ones to symbolize longevity for elders, and White ones were used in funerals.

How would any of that information be related to Yakumo? Well:

1) He might be either Japanese or Chinese. And if none, probably follows the culture/traditions.

2) Incase if he died years ago and then was brought back to life, maybe he was a part of mentioned upperclassmen, or at least belonged to a family that is one.

3) Following the "past life thing" in case if he had one, maybe he had a deep belief of evil spirits, or was involved with any of them. Orrrr if he did belong to some family, maybe they had a strong belief that those exist in the religion/tradition they follow.

4) Maybe that Wagasa was never his in the first place but someone else's that he knows and got that from.

(These are probably worded pretty badly, but bear with me it's 4:45AM lolol.)

Temari Balls

Finding the name of it sure did take me time with Google images because I had no idea what they're called before doing research, but anyway:

They're a folk art form and Japanese craft that originated in China and got introduced to Japan around the 7th. History wise, they were constructed from the remants of old kimono, and as time passed by traditional temari became an art, with more decorative and detailed ways of stitching them. With the introduction of rubber to Japan, they went from toys to art objects, and even became an art and craft of the Japanese upperclassmen and aristocracy.

Since these balls (haha balls) were made with pieces of silk fabric, that pretty much does have a relation with Yakumo being a humanoid spider who is able to use his silk to create clothing and... other stuff like in this official art where he tells Kujaku about it.

And speaking of art being decorative detailed, Yakumo's design seems to fit that description too (seriously have you seen him??? Gorgeous, beautiful and allat).

There was also a mention that temari balls became an art and craft of the Japanese upperclass and aristocracy, which could be an another hint that Yakumo might've belonged to them/was a part of them in one way or another. Or, if doing art and craft like these was that impressive to those people, then there could be a what if Yakumo was a middle/lower class and then at some point got noticed by an upperclass. That's about the history part, anyway.

Onto the tradition part: Temari balls are highly valued and cherished gifts that symbolize deep friendship and loyalty. There are also the colors and threads used for the making that are symbolic of wishing the recipient a brilliant and a happy life.

I think the closest we've seen to "friendship" coming from Yakumo with anyone else is his duo with Six. It may not be known exactly if they're friends, or if they consider each other as that, but we've seen them interact together as if they're very much used to each other's shit, so there might be some close bond with these two. I mean, aside from Isou, I think Yakumo is also someone Six seems to be pretty much comfortable to be around judging from their interactions. Is it a sign for friendship or nah? In my opinion, there is definitely something with these two like some sort of bond and high tolerance.

The loyalty part might be related to his interactions with Six, but the meaning could also go to his loyalty to Shiki, with him sticking up to finding that part for the key Mashiro's ass is after to complete the general plan of the organization (that's how it is in the plan at least—).

For the "happy and brilliant life" part — In the end of chapter 323, he said: "We don't have any lingering attachment to this world". Past life or current one, he probably doesn't view any of those as "brilliant or happy", considering how people (including 002 ig) view and treat togabito beings. Could be he decided to be a part of Shiki to look for one? A better world with a better life? Or he lost all hope from the meaning of life or smth /j

Back to the traditional stuff: Temari balls are also often given to children from their parents on New Year's Day, and the mother who made them puts a small piece of paper with a goodwill wish for the child, and they (the child) can never be told what wish their mother made while making the ball.

I dunno if I really wanna stick to that theory, but if Yakumo had a mother, what if she used to make a ball for her son every new years and he would have a bunch of those and had a deep attachment to those. Maybe he believed that if he stayed loyal to the tradition and never ask her about the wish then his life would stay as happy and peaceful.

Now, about this

As you can tell, his spider legs that are usually seen on his forehead... Are not there! (Shocker.)

Since that image is most likely presenting his past, then what if Yakumo wasn't born as a togabito and only fell under the definition of one after being experimented on? Kind of like how it happened with Manji, who used to be Ban.

Or, a different way to view it, what if Yakumo hid the fact he's a humanoid spider by pretending to be a part of the ordinary human beings, and had to hide his spider legs just like in that image.

... Or maybe some togabitophobic people chopped them off??? Dunno lol.

Kimono

And now, something I haven't mentioned until now: his kimono. Really pretty, gorgeous even, but see there's this rule of wearing it: "Always wear the left side over the right side. Only dead people have their kimono worn right over left". Like this, basically:

If you look at Yakumo's design, he is wearing it in the proper way of the living, right over left, just like the woman I've shown:

There could be two theories rising from that:

1) Yakumo never died in the past or his recent life in any way.

2) He did die in the past, but is wearing his kimono like that in order to bland in with the living, basically fooling others who barely know him (or they know him but he just wants to fuck with us).

And a side but not too major theory I had for him in general: Maybe he used to be a god, or anything close to it? Or was blessed by one? I got that idea from his personality of having an enjoyment to do things flashily and show off, just like how he did so in the arc with Team F when killing the guards and 002 and even showing her his special threads or... Yeah you get what I mean. And there is also the fact that he had a speech/moment referencing the short story "The Spider's Thread" by Akutagawa that gave me that idea, but I'm not too sure how to explain it.

So in summary (???) I guess what I brought up as theories for his backstory are:

1) Belonging/Related to a upperclass / noble family in one way or another

2) Follows or is somehow close with tradition and/or religion

3) Might have been a human before becoming togabito

4) There might be a chance he died in the past but then was brought back to life

And I think that's all.

The Fan Continuity that I’m trying to work on is still on my mind, and while I’m still planning out a lot of stuff for it at the moment, I’m going to go ahead and talk about some of the characters in it.

Technically, everyone is around in this- or, nearly everyone at least, but I can’t focus on all of the Cybertronians. So, most of the character stuff that I’ll be doing for this is more for the ‘main’ Cybertronians in the Continuity.

Each all have their own little things going on, aswell.

Optimus Prime: They/Them/Themself, He/Him/Himself, (FtM):

Optimus Prime, originally Orion Pax only a short while ago before being made a Prime thanks to the Matrix of Leadership, resides on Earth as the leader of the Autobots.

Still processing the recent death of their Conjunx Endura, Elita-1, the new Prime grows protective of his Autobots, while promising that he’ll stop Megatron, and make sure that nobody else suffers.

Rampage: It/It’s/Itself:

Rampage (or known by X to some), used to be held in an old facility in another Universe, before it took a chance, and escaped—both the facility and the Universe, after running through some sort of portal.

Shortly after appearing in a new Universe, it runs into Transmutate—who doesn’t seem all that like the one from its original universe—but also seems to have gone through a similar situation.

Teaming up, the two stick together, all while having to worry about certain people from both of their original Universes who want them both—one more than the other.

Transmutate: She/Her/Herself, It/It’s/Itself, They/Them/Themself:

Transmutate was originally held in an old facility—where they had been created. But, when something happens, she takes the chance to escape the facility—and the current Universe (which, it only figured out after—it didn’t think the portal could do that).

After appearing in this strange, new Universe, it runs into Rampage, who seems somewhat different from what little she knew of the other one. But, just like them, it seems to have gone through a similar situation.

Teaming up and sticking with Rampage, Transmutate worries over... a lot. Not being able to control certain abilities. The people who created them—who consider it ‘unfinished’ coming, and worrying over its new friend.

Wheeljack: He/Him/Himself, She/Her/Herself, They/Them/Themself:

Wheeljack, one of the most well-known Autobot Scientists... although their inventions do tend to malfunction—and one of the only few that happens to be on Earth with the rest.

Although they stick around and assist the others when he can, and spend time working on inventions, the scientist has some... problems, that they have been trying to fix.

Shortly after arriving on Earth, Ratchet and the Dinobots went missing, with her making it their mission to try and find them all again—all while dealing with an unfortunate change to herself that happened during an encounter with a Decepticon that he’s trying to hide.

Censere/The Necrobot: They/Them/Themself:

Censere... or as nearly every Cybertronian knows them, The Necrobot—someone who seems to catalogue the deceased—but also thought to not exist, as they are never exactly seen... but they have a good reason to not want to be.

Residing on Earth, a young human manages to spot them when they were listing someone off. At first, they thought that would be it—but, the two continue to see each-other, and eventually, they start talking.

It seems like, now, they’ve got a little human buddy.

Krok: He/Him/Himself (FtM):

Krok, a Monoformer that’s haunted by events from his past (which, leads him into seeing... spirits?), and the leader of the small group of Decepticons called The Scavengers. Years before everyone else, the mech first met Spinister, after he was repaired by the surgeon.

His time with all of them has been... chaotic, for sure, but it quickly becomes worse when, after a visit to someplace, the Scavengers discover that they’re being tracked, and none of them know the reason. Among the pursuers, is someone from Krok’s past.

Spinister: They/Them/Themself, It/It’s/Itself:

Spinister, a rather strange (in everyone else’s optics) surgeon, who, years ago, ran into Krok when the Monoformer was severely damaged. From what or who? It didn’t know—but it had been rather focused on fixing him, and never left after those events.

Out of all the Scavengers, Krok seems to understand them the best... but, that doesn’t mean that it’s still a mystery—there are certain things that Spinister is keeping a secret, that it doesn’t plan on telling any of the others.

However, one thing that isn’t a secret, is how it can see the spirits that hang around Krok—surprising both, and even the spirits—yet the rest can’t see what these two see and hear.

Misfire: Any Pronouns:

Misfire, a flier who... doesn’t really remember much of anything, and they aren’t all that sure on the reason why. They do, however, know that they happen to be a rather terrible shot... as everyone discovers that rather quickly.

She’s the newest member of the Scavengers, the others having met him and vise versa when the flier got into some trouble at a small bar, before quickly joining them all.

Misfire isn’t too worried about what they can’t remember, among other things—he’s sure that it doesn’t mean anything, that nothing bad happened, or that nothing bad is going to happen because of any of that.

...Right?

Crankcase: No Pronouns:

Crankcase, a Pilot, who before joining up with the Scavengers (being the third to join), used to work for... someone—the Decepticon won’t explain or reveal who it was to any of the others, claiming that it doesn’t matter.

In fact, the only things that the Pilot has revealed, is just that the ‘someone’ was another Decepticon—Crankcase didn’t like working for whoever it was, and that before leaving, that ‘someone’ was the reason for the rather nasty head wound.

Despite the head wound, Crankcase seems to be fine... at least to the others at a first glance, but the Decepticon is far worse. The Pilot has far worse damage—some involving around the head wound, and other, internal damage that the pilot is just starting to realize.

Fulcrum: He/Him/Himself, They/Them/Themself:

Fulcrum, a Decepticon who... isn’t all that sure on what he was doing in an old, seemingly abandoned, lab—which was where they also happened to meet the Scavengers—being the fourth to join.

Unlike Misfire in the future, Fulcrum knows everything, nothing happened to their memories, they just... aren’t sure what they’re doing in this lab—and they can’t remember their time in it. He feels weird, he can no longer transform, among other... much more unfortunate and concerning details.

While dealing with the chaos of being with the Scavengers, he slowly starts to discover the truth as to why he was in that lab....

This isn’t everyone, but it’s at least a few of them.

Twin Au

I have this au of Venti and Deca being the same age its just that Venti basically developed an 'ego' later than Deca wich is why deca was running around like that and Venti basically knew also what the outisde of the borders looked like

Deca (like in my other au) is also more of 'a bunch of humans gathered together in my garden and now i have to take care of them except they are so small and fragile + all the gods outside there are tryng to kill each other.' And kinda became an unvoluntary God?? King??

whispi saw this aswell, whispi was there since the beginning. Seeing his brother walk among humans, masquarading as one even not trully because he wanted to keep in mind but because he was convinced 'this is the more fair version. The humans dont have to know the truth'.

(He didnt tell anything to Nb bcs thats basically crushing all the humans spirits if he were to tell them how bad the outside actually is basically and thats just as bad as what deca is doing wich is ironic bcs both of them are witholding information from the humans.)

Another thing just after the whole revolution Venti basically had this internal fear of becoming just like Deca bcs. Venti was there since the beginning, Venti saw the good the bad and the worst.

When Deca got 'taken down' he just. Let it happen? Because he saw his wife essentially betray him and this random kid also get wrapped up in all of this and just as if any of that wasn't enough his sibling basically betrayed him aswell.

And in this au i like to think that Venti and Deca are parallels of each other.

Decarabrian became controlling and obsessive over his humans, taking away the burden of choice and freeing them in a more... material sense.

Meanwhile Venti after he became an Archon tried to be the least involved bcs thats what deca did wrong right? Humans don't like that! So he didnt get involved. He tried to keep away as much as possible, burdening them with material stuff yet... a freedom of choice? But is it even a choice if demanded by their archon?

I like to couple this Au with a different idea i have aswell. Where if you dont know in the game if a god dies they take everything down with them (aka mass destruction and its worse the more power the god have) and yet. Mondstadt is for the most part is fine?

Well, remember how i mentioned that Deca essentially gave into the idea of just. The humans winning? What if he locked himself beneath the tower, causing himself in an enternal loop of sleeping beneath the tower, unable to wake up as long as he still has elemental power yet he is an elemental being and aslong as that stays a fact neither the seals nor the spell can be broken and he is fated to slumber for an eternity (unless Venti breaks it or something)

Also i think that later on in the au when barbatos was 'taking care' of the humans he often times came into just. Troubles where for split seconds (like during the time he went napping and woke up literal years later from his nap and the aristocrats had take over) that just. 'Maybe, maybe deca had a point...maybe they shouldent be let to their own devices' only to realize in horror of what he just thought and try to forget and push it as far away as possible

Hello there! I wanted to share a jjba AU if it's possible, I've been cooking this up for a while and was inspired by many ideas revolving around Jonathan being Star Platinum or specifically— stands, or in better words the Joestars stands where all inhabited by ghost of their family? It's not complete but here's what I got for now:

Stands are the fighting spirit (energy) or the will of a person, and normally it's only just that, but the Joestars are different. When Dio obtained his Stand (while he had a strong will and fighting spirit) it still wasn't really enough or, it wasn't supposed to be, their wasn't really a vessel or a another body to make a stand.

So to accommodate, souls where used, in essence now their a bit... different than in canon. It's confusing I know but please bear with me here.

When Dio obtained his Stand "The World" since he was using Jonathan's body he obtained his aswell, "Passion". I'm still not certain who to make The World but Passion well... their non other than Mary Joestar, who's now a purple vine like stand with flowers.

As for the rest of the Joestars, the first who obtained their stand as far as I remember was Joseph a year before Jotaro.

Joseph was a hard pick since their where many I wanted to be "Hermit purple" but in the end I decided that it would be Jorge Joestar II, basically Joseph's father. And much like Passion, Hermit is a purple thorny vine, but the difference is that they can take a semi-humanoid form (this will have more of an impact later).

Between all the Joestar's, Jotaro was the easiest to decide, I adore the idea of Star being Jonathan! Actually Jonathan being Star inspired me in making Hermit into Jorge.

I love the idea of Holly gaining and keeping her stand. Her stand is very much like her dad's, but instead of purple it's green with berry's and small red flowers, her stand "Guns and Roses" would be non other than Erina Pendolton Joestar!

So here instead of here being killed by her stand maybe it would be something more sinister? Maybe a curse Dio placed on her just because he wanted to taunt them? Maybe Enya would be responsible for it idk :)

I'm a sucker for Au's where Joseph doesn't cheat on Suzie so I made this one just that :D

Here Josuke is a far away relative of the Joestar that came into their lives at an early age, since he isn't technically related to the main bloodline or more accurately Jonathan's bloodline but is still close to the family "Crazy Diamond" isn't really a family member but is at the same time. And who else better to become CD than our beloved oil tycoon Speedwagon?

As for Giorno, Jolyne and Dio's other children I'm completly stumped on them sorry :(

So for a bit more context since this getting a bit too long, I'll get to some scenarios :D

The souls are very much aware of who they are, but not what they are. The last thing they remember is them dying, so when they first wake up in their new bodies we'll... not everything is dandelions and cherries.

For Erina and Speedwagon their death wasn't gruesome at all, infact they both fulfilled their lives. Erina lived a nice life and died surrounded by family so waking up in a house that she has never seen before with vague and blurry vision of people around spooks her a bit, I imagine that she wouldn’t really get to know much at first since right after she manifest she's down for the count.

The same would be for Speedwagon since he's inhabiting CD and at the moment Josuke is still a four year old so he also doesn't understand much until later.

Now for Mary, Jorge and Jonathan, we'll... their not taking it so well.

Mary's last memory literally was of her and her family free falling off a cliff in a carriage with her trying to shield her baby from impending doom. And now she's in this dark room with a blond man, who she has never ever met, with George and Jonathan no where in sight. You can imagine the stress she's in.

Jorge's was gruesome to say the least. Dying by being eaten alive? Horrible. The moment he wakes up you bet that he's thrashing around trying to get out and fight. In his mind he's still the office fighting for his life, he need to get back to his family. To mother and uncle Speedwagon, to his Elizabeth and his new born son that was just born practically just a few days ago! He needed to fight back, he needed to! And once he regains a sence of control he discovers that he's no longer in the generals room, it's no longer night time. He's in an office, foreign to him, and right infront of him was an elderly man with a few scrapes and bruises, and on closer inspection he looked like his father (he remembered the only picture his mother had of his father) if he ever grew to be that old, just where the hell was he?

Jonathan's death was as gruesome as Jorge's if not worse. He just got married, was at his honeymoon and then Dio just had to appear and ruin everything. Just what has he done?

On a lighter note stands can communicate with each other so when Avdol arrives and sees the mess in Mr. Joestars office it's Magician Red who explains and comforts Jorge. In the span of a year it's good to say that him and MR became good friends.

I have more ideas but that's it for now, as I said before it's work in progress but I would love to hear your thoughts on this Au! I don't have a name for it tho... but either way I'm an open minded person and don't mind the constructive criticism or incorporating more ideas into this AU.

🌕 Lunar Melody 🌕

🌕 A pop-culture spell to strengthen your psychic abilities (such as clairaudience, claircognizance, etc), inspired by Fatal Frame IV 🌕

A Lunar Melody is someone's unique tone, tied to their identity and gifts, their very soul. This Lunar Melody can change pitch according to the person's emotional state and general health. We all hear it unconsciously, and not being able to hear your own Lunar Melody (according to the games) can cause a foggy mind, partial or complete memory loss, dizziness, headaches, emotional distress, among other things. It is also said that people with stronger lunar melodies have a stronger connection to the spiritual realms, the Afterlife, and are often mediums. According to lore, Lunar Eclipses are times when the veil between worlds are thinner and in the games, the Lunar Melodies of people are more receptive, for good or for bad, during this time. So let's try to use that in our favor! Doing this following exercise at a time when the veil is thinner will help you identify what gifts you have but maybe didn't know about, and strengthen the psychic abilities that you already know of. Kind of like stretching a muscle that's been atrophied, with the Moon's help.

⚠️ An older version of this spell was posted by me a long time ago and now seems to be lost. I'm posting this new (and somewhat improved) version as someone asked for it, and it may be of use to others aswell.

🌕 You'll need:

A lunar eclipse, ha. If it wasn't obvious by the title and inspiration, you'll be performing this ritual under a lunar eclipse. Partial or total, your choice, but I think it's safer to do it for the first time under a partial eclipse.

A consecrated mask. Preferably of some organic material (thick paper or wood). Paint it entirely with black ink/paint, that has been previously mixed with a drop of your blood. If you don't feel comfortable working with blood, saliva can work as a substitute (as a personal concern of yours, a tie to you) or even better, tears, as they relate to your sight. After you've painted it, let it dry outside under a Full Moon, asking for the Moon's blessing.

Five white candles.

A bowl of water (preferably a dark bowl, or some scrying bowl)

Music player and a song of choice.

A notebook and pen to take notes.

🌕 Steps:

🌕 First you'll have to define your workspace. I recommend that you create a circular sacred space with a radius of at least 60-70 cm around you. You can use a rope to mark the circle or not, that's up to you. Then set up your five candles on this circle, forming a five-pointed star. Open sacred space as you normally would (if you call on the elements, deities, etc, this would be the time to do that)

🌕 Set before you, inside the circle, the scrying bowl. Best if you can see the Moon's reflection on the water (doing this outside is best but not necessary). Call on the Moon God/Goddess of your choice, and ask them to bless the water and guide your sight.

🌕 Using your music player, play the song you've chosen to meditate with. You can use the Moonsong from the games (said to calm people's soul) or some other that resonates with you (see what I did there?). When you do, first say "Spirits of Song, of chimes, drums, flute, piano and string, lend me your guidance tonight".

🌕 Then, the meditation. Or the frenzy. Put on the mask. You can choose to stay still or dance. If you stay seated, gaze into the water, and try to make out shapes, pay attention to any sounds, emotions, smell, word or image that comes to your mind. Write them down when you're done. If you dance, offer your dance to the Moon and let it guide your steps. Placing the bowl on the center of the circle, dance around it and pay attention to the sensations of it, without judgement. What do you see in your mind's eye? pay attention to what you hear, smell, feel. Don't overthink it in the moment, just let it move through you and only care to remember it for later, so you can write it all down, and you can analize it all you want after it's over.

🌕 After you've written down your notes, you can close your sacred space as you normally would, give thanks to the Spirits you've called to aid you, and even leave a small offering out for the Moon afterwards if you wish.
