If you’re still doing the ask game, crash with Wars?
(continuation of pine sap. Warnings: (warnings are a bit spoilery bewarb) serious injury, Warriors thinks the word 'die' in relation to the serious injuries, loss of consciousness, ambiguous ending.
Wars angst just for you, Captain >:)
PSA I will never write character death. My blorbos always make it out alive. Just... remember that as you read this.)
Drip.
Water dripped slowly somewhere in the back of the cave. Warriors was focusing on the sound and letting it consume his mind; anything was better than focusing on the pain.
Drip.
Wild hadn't wanted to leave him behind, of course he hadn't. They'd argued about it for what felt like hours to Warrior's pain-addled mind. But, in the end, Warriors' pragmatism had won out. Warriors needed medical attention.
He needed help or he was going to die.
Drip.
So Wild left in search of anything to help. Finding a fairy would be the best case scenario, but it was ranked low on Warriors list of possibilities. Finding the other heroes would do, as well. One of them surely had a fairy, or at least some healing potions.
Drip.
Wild said he knew how to brew elixirs. He knew how to do them with ingredients from his Hyrule, though, and they were in an unfamiliar era.
Drip.
Warriors wasn't sure how long ago Wild left. Time was passing strangely. Between blinks, the tiny sliver of light shining into the cave moved further and further up the wall. Wild said he would close the cave off so nothing could get in, so there was only a small bit of light coming through.
Drip.
Warriors' worry grew with every movement of the light. Why wasn't Wild back yet? Had he gotten himself into trouble? Warriors trusted the kid, and he knew Wild was one of the most resourceful among them.
Drip.
Warriors could feel his grip on consciousness fading.
Drip.
The injuries and blood loss were taking their effect.
Drip.
Against his will, Warriors' eyes slid shut.
Drip.
He heard stone crashing and crumbling, and then there was nothing.

Daryl Dixon x f!Reader: Together Apart Ch.5
Tumblr media
Warnings/Mentions: History of abuse, neglect, strong language, mentions of character death, alcohol and drug abuse, ptsd, shared trauma, reader is cold, angst, fluff, eventual smut, slowburn, angst
Summary: You and Daryl grow closer due to feeling out of place in Alexandria. Just when you think you have the old Daryl back, he leaves.
Notes: I think the chapter after this one will be the last chapter, and finally have some cheesy old fashion love making :D Sorry Daryl vanishes at the end tho ):
It never seemed to end for him. In front of everyone else he was silent, emotionless, an empty body on autopilot. But when you'd walk off into the trees to search for water, it always hit him, no matter how many times he'd thought he'd cried out all out and was done with it.
He clung to you after her death like never before, constantly walking in your shadow and wordlessly begging for some sort of comfort, reassurance, anything. You did the best you could, which ended up being more than either of you expected. You seamlessly morphed into the familiar elder sister role, mirroring the ways you would comfort your bruised baby brother.
He put a cigarette out on his hand the one time he went off by himself, and not following him was something you came to regret.
“Daryl,” the whisper of your voice had him cringing, the sound too empathetic and full of concern, he had to fight to keep himself from cracking when your comfort washed over him.
“I know… I'm not good with words, or shit like this.” You sighed, maintaining a quiet tone, low enough for the sound of rain and the crackle of fire to cover.
Daryl remained silent as you spoke. He picked at the skin around his fingers, looking down at his hands in his lap, and the sight of your smaller hand lightly touching his wrist makes him jerk.
“I can't take away your pain, God knows I'd kill every goddamn piece of shit alive to make you feel better.” Your voice turned shaky, and the urge to cry was becoming overwhelming for the both of you. “But... I can promise you, you'll never have to worry about losing me. I just want you to know, I'm that one thing you don't need to worry about. I always will be.”
Daryl slowly inhaled through his stuffy nose and nodded, the noise dry and shaky, his eyes burning and unblinking from their gaze on your hand.
“I know.” He finally spoke and nodded again, as if that would magically set it in stone. “Me too.”
Slipping back into your place in the group dynamic was unpleasant after being alone with Gabriel for that long. It wasn't just one person you had to make an effort for anymore, and deep down you despised it. It was almost comparable to going back to school after summer break. You had to play by the rules again, fit into their perfect perception or risk repercussions.
The discovery of Eugenes lies was all but a surprise to you. You didn't have some wild sense of intuition, you were just a pessimistic person. Although you kept your opinions to yourself, you didn't predict the extent of how deep his lies had been. The cure was a given, obviously, but the fact he lied about being a scientist as well? Lied about the safe place in Washington too? It took everything you had in you not to cave his face in when you saw the look of disappointment on Daryl's face. That's another reason why you hated being in a group. People didn't deserve to be able to let you down, and sure as hell not the one person you gave a shit about.
People love to parrot that same ‘it has to get worse before it can get better’ bullshit you'd been told by concerned and empathetic authority figures all throughout your childhood. Safe to say it had lost its meaning to you, even when Daryl tried to lift your spirits.
Well, it sure got better for everyone else.
You weren't alone in your suspicions about Aaron. For once Rick and you agreed on something, it was a bad idea to go to Alexandria. But the group convinced him to take a chance, that the rewards greatly outweigh the risks, and you watched with a disapproving glare as Aaron led you all past the gates.
“I'm just going to ask you a few simple questions, get to know you. You don't mind if I record this, do you?”
You had a feeling your answer wouldn't make any difference, no matter what you said. You shook your head as you watched Deanna turn her video camera on, the big black lens feeling like an intimidating pit waiting to swallow you up if you gave an answer she didn't like. She rounded the couch and sat down, a tight and professional smile on her lips.
“Let's start with your name.”
You told her your name, trying to behave despite your stomach growling and the sudden awareness that you smelled and looked awful.
“Where are you from,” She repeated your name.
“Georgia. Up North.”
“Did you work?”
“No.”
“What were you before the outbreak?” When you didn't answer, she elaborated. “Were you a student in school, staying at home, traveling…?”
“After high school I stayed home for a couple years. Took care of my mom.”
“I understand you're close with Daryl, is that right?”
You must've visibly reacted to that question, because even after you answered, she pressed for more information.
“Did you grow up together?”
“Kind of, we weren't really friends or anything. He lived nearby and I'd see him around.”
Deanna nodded as if she was your therapist listening to some deep-seated trauma.
“Did you ask anyone else these questions?” You scratched the back of your arm, beginning to feel uncomfortable.
“I ask everyone all kinds of questions. I want to get to know you all, it's not an interrogation. You don't need to answer any that you don't want to.”
She finally changed the subject to your relationship with Rick's group. Not that you were eager to talk about it, but at least she wasn't grilling you on Daryl anymore.
“I've been here since before Rick came and took over. Back in Atlanta. Daryl and his brother Merle came to get me when it happened. I thought maybe they were having some bad trip or somethin'. Ran into my house yelling about dead folks coming back to life and eating people. If it wasn't for them, I'd probably be dead too, but, I think they mainly came to get me because they knew my mom had a stash of cigarettes and drugs.” You were chuckling as you spoke, not realizing you had given up so much information without her even asking. You instantly shut up, the amused smile leaving your face.
“How do you get along with other members of your group?”
You cringed at the phrasing. They weren't your group, they were Daryl's people, you were just a temporary guest without a set time to leave.
“Fine. Haven't heard any complaints. Have you?”
“No. But I have heard you don't work well with others.”
You shrugged.
“Do you want to be here?” The way she would use your name at the end of every few sentences was starting to get under your skin.
“I'm kinda stuck with wherever Daryl wants to be.”
Deanna ended the interview after a handful of other unimportant questions and you were allowed to leave, led to your new house by one of her son's.
You took the longest and hottest shower of your life, only getting out when Abraham started pounding on the door. It brought back that same feeling of anxiety you'd get when your mother would bang on your locked door in a fit of anger. You nearly ran him over when you burst out of the bathroom, making him drop his change of clothes and call out a disgruntled complaint.
“Who the hell is this?”
Daryl looked up from his bag to see you looking down at him, a teasing grin on your fresh face. The image of you being all cleaned up had him momentarily stunned. It had been a while since either of you had seen each other clean like that.
“Daryl? No way, where's your grease?” You toyed with his damp hair before sitting next to him on the floor near the fireplace, where he'd decided to sleep for the night.
“Nah, I don't know you. Ya don't smell like bloody rabbits.” He retorted, leaning in to dramatically sniff at you. “The hell is that? Shampoo?”
“Uh, it's shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and toothpaste.” You replied, giving an exaggerated smile to show your clean teeth.
You shared a few chuckles and jokes as the rest of the group cleaned up and prepared for bed. Even though you couldn't stand the place or the new people in it, the prospect of having your own room with an actual bed had you buzzing with excitement.
Sleeping next to Daryl wasn't anything out of the ordinary for you. It was an arrangement that happened more nights than not. But sleeping next to Daryl in a safe house, wrapped in clean clothes, soft blankets, and not even the slightest whiff of the outdoors? It was overwhelming.
You turned on your side to face him, watching as he stared up at the ceiling, the dark room filled with the familiar ambiance of gentle snoring and breathing. Daryl always slept after everyone else, and that night was no exception.
Despite your instincts telling you not to, you wiggled on the blanket to move closer to him, nuzzling your face in his nearly dry hair, closing your eyes as you inhaled his clean scent.
He stiffened at first, an automatic reaction which soon faded and he relaxed, tilting his head until his cheek rested against your forehead. He could barely feel the warm tickle of your breath under his jaw, the feeling soliciting a subliminal relaxation. His eyes closed then, and he listened to the barely audible whistle of your nose. He listened as the whistle got softer, slower, and nearly disappeared altogether as you fell asleep.
Daryl made sure to untangle himself from you the next morning, before anyone else had the chance to wake up and witness your private bond. No one deserved to see that part of him or you, it was intended for the two of you alone, something deeper and more personal than anyone would understand.
Adjusting to being around people was a challenge that went all the way back to school. Even in Atlanta you struggled with it, going from being a hermit with your sick mother to an adult in a large group of people, it felt like your first day of school all over again.
That was all nothing compared to being in Alexandria. Not only were you surrounded by people that annoyed you, but another larger group of people you knew absolutely nothing about.
They bestowed heavy responsibilities on you as well. It wasn't just scraping by washing clothes and hunting, it was work. Hard work. Wall building, gardening, work inside Alexandria, work outside their walls, near constant supply runs, and cooking.
Parties. Pasta for dinner. A seemingly limitless flow of sparkling amber champagne. Some kid was walking their fucking pet dog on the sidewalk.
It felt insulting. Their first impression on you firmly implemented your personal views towards them. Spoiled, weak, wearing faces of false persona, wives chittering like hens with warm knowing smirks. Husbands and men who always smiled like the sun, going out of their way to do things they considered nice for you, then putting on a somber and humble face if anyone had praised their hard work, dedication, and sacrifices. Sacrifices that basically ensued going to the grocery store.
You hated it. You hated them, you hated their kids, you hated their houses that looked like mansions to you, and you hated the way Rick's group treated it like they'd walked through the bright pearly gates and not the glorified pretentious prison that it was.
To your relief Daryl didn't quite like it either.
“They invited us to what?” You didn't believe him when he said it to you as he stared around your new room.
“Said it was a welcoming party.” He grunted, fingers picking at the edges of a tacky poster of a puppy on the wall.
“A party? What do you mean a party?”
“Dunno.” He sighed, throwing his hands up in muted exasperation. “S’jus what she said.” She being Deanna, the same woman who took away your guns, which yours had grown to be quite the impressive collection. But you being your hardened and sneaky self, you'd managed to smuggle two of your handguns into your room. Daryl got to keep his crossbow, of course, and you your own recurve bow, it was the bare minimum aside from your knives, which the others were allowed to keep as well. Sadly, you'd end up breaking that bow a few days later by slinging it at Pete's head.
“And everyone's going?” You pressed on from your seat on the bedroom dresser.
“Dunno. Goddamn, told you what she told me, you know s’much as I do.”
You went to the party. Of fucking course you would, they had full on meals with all the food groups, they had alcohol, they had little appetizers and finger foods you'd only ever seen on tv and in magazines, you'd be an idiot not to. The only con was the house was stuffed with people. You could barely make it two steps without bumping into a new face.
You didn't stay long at all, leaving the second your stomach felt full, and you had a decent buzz going on. You snuck out the back door and snagged the half empty bottle of champagne on your way out.
“Ya went?” Daryl was surprised to see you walking down the sidewalk in new clothes. The black button up hung a little loose on you, the sleeves bunched up around your elbows, the hem falling all the way past your ass.
“I may not like those people, but they make some damn good casserole.” You snickered, popping out the metal reusable cork and taking a deep drink.
Daryl grabbed the bottle from your outstretched hand and downed nearly the whole damn thing in three gulps.
“Yeah yeah. Go on, help yourself.”
He gave a weak grin at your playful scoff before handing the bottle back to you.
“You remember what I said back in Atlanta.”
You looked to your side at Daryl as the two of you walked down the dimly lit path back to your new residence. “Gotta be more specific.”
“Bout takin’ their shit an’ hauling ass outta there.”
“Yeah. One of my biggest regrets is talking you out of it.” You sighed, your tone no longer playful and lighthearted. “We could be all the way across the country by now. Would still have Merle bitching out ears off and ranting about some racist conspiracy theory.”
Daryl suddenly chuckled. “You ‘member that time he was tryin’ to come up with slurs for walkers?” His amused grin spread further when you erupted into laughter at the memory. “What was it he called ‘em? Rotters? Pus-suckers?”
“Yeah, those were some of the tamer ones.” At the time you'd been annoyed by Merle's constant need to remind you that the three of you were better and more superior than anything and anyone around you, but all this time without him and his humorous outlook on life, you missed it. You even missed when he'd belittle you, at the end of the day he still was sexist, despite the obvious care he held for you.
“Why'd you ask though?”
“Dunno.”
“Daryl.”
“Everyone's safe now, ain't gotta worry about ‘em anymore.”
You kept quiet as he fought for the words to convey his thoughts. It was obvious he felt like the odd man out again, it was impossible not to, in a place as nice as Alexandria. The rest of the group had effortlessly slipped into their places in the new environment, if you were an onlooker, it would look as if time had frozen in place for the small neighborhood and its citizens.
But Daryl, and you, it wasn't easy like that. You never had a normal life like this, so you had no default state to regress to. Daryl had only changed a little since the start, and you hadn't changed much at all. Your skin felt like it was burning with electricity at the insinuation in his words.
“I'll go wherever you go, you know that.” You nodded firmly. “Just say the word.”
He ended up going to Carol with his vague plan, and then Rick. You don't know what they said to him, but the next morning he told you he wanted to give it a few days before he made his decision.
You should've just made the decision for him. You should have grabbed your stuff, packed your bags, and stole one of their cars and left. Because a few days turned into a hell of a lot longer.
It wasn't all bad, the two of you grew even closer due to his feelings of being an outcast once again surfacing. It was the same for you, which caused you to cling onto him tighter than before. You slept on the same ratty mattress in your room, sometimes cuddling, but most of the time on separate ends.
You watched more people die around you, which was something you'd become bitterly accustomed to. Aiden, one of Deanna’s sons, and Noah, who you'd never spoken to before. Rick made some trouble for himself getting wrapped up in the wife of the town surgeon, and all hell broke loose after that. Pete lost his shit and accidentally killed Deanna's husband, and Rick killed Pete. As if there hadn't been enough blood shed, a hoard of walkers became an issue just as things started to calm down.
You didn't like the role that'd been assigned to you. You were being seen and tasked as a protector, sent out by Rick with Abraham and a handful of others to build strategic walls for his master plan of relocating the hoard.
Another thing you didn't like was the way people's views towards you changed. People who once never even spared you a second thought were speaking to you, making an effort to get to know you, and it was just as unsettling as that time Rick invited you over for dinner.
“Too pretty to be so sad all the time.” Abraham had said once as you dug a hole for the wooden pillar.
“I'm not sad.” You muttered, stepping back as three men lifted the wood into the hole. You poured in the instant concrete and took your gloves off to get a drink of water.
“So you just always have that sour look on your face then, huh?”
“Only when I'm around people I don't know.” Or like, you thought to yourself.
“I've known you for how long now? Course you know me. And Sasha, and Rosita, and-”
“You're people I'm stuck with. Doesn't mean I know you.”
“Tsh.” He snorted, folding his massive arms across his equally massive chest. “So you're just a bitch then?”
“Yeah.”
One would think that conversation would've been enough to get the point across. No, sadly, it only made things worse. Rick ended up giving you jobs with more people, and you quickly caught onto the convenient way Daryl was almost never in those assigned groups.
Rick was in charge, that was undebatable, but he wasn't in charge of your free will. You did your work as he asked, most of the time faster than expected, and spent every second of your free time with Daryl, even if it meant pulling four different jobs a day.
It worked like that for a while, and eventually you did begin to change. Not you exactly, moreso your attitude had changed. You became less closed off, no longer baring teeth and claws as a constant warning. You actually enjoyed spending time with Abraham, as he was one of the only people that called you out for being shitty, he wasn't scared of your mean mug or the harsh bite of your words. It wasn't just Abraham you started to like. Maggie, Carol, Rosita, Michonne, and sometimes Tara, the small group shifted from strangers to acquaintances, some would call you their friend. They'd eventually worn down your hard exterior and you experimented a little with conversation and generosity. Carol was the exception, it was you who had to pursue her. Trying to become genuine friends with her was hard, it made you realize how hard everyone else had been trying with you.
You even started decorating your room a bit. Nothing fancy, just a few homemade shelves and displays for your numerous weapons. You made a special one above your futon, the only object it held was the small gold tinted shell of a used bullet.
All good things must come to an end.
You sat alone in your shared room for the third night in a row, silent on your lumpy mattress, your eyes burning in effort to hold back tears.
He hadn't even told you he was leaving.

Note
First of all, I love your writing and your fics. I love your IWTV au so much. And I'm a fan of your other stuff.
Sooo I have some ideas I'd like to share with you , dear MJ. I was thinking of an isolated Ghost. He almost hides himself from people, some place like Alaska or in the wild. Somewhere cold and out of humans, so he can be all by himself. He doesn't want to be around people because of his past, and he hides himself from people. He lives in a cold forest or somewhere unreachable in winter because of the snow. He lives in a cabin.
And there is Soap, who goes on a camping trip with himself after breaking up with his boyfriend. Thinking that camping would help him get better emotionally. But it starts snowing, and he is not prepared, and he gets lost in the wild. He is desperate and cold. While searching for help and walking for hours. He comes across the cabin where Ghost is staying. Ghost doesn't welcome Soap at first, but because of the heavy snow, they are stuck for about a week or a month. So Ghost helps Soap get better, and they start to get close and hot...
I think I explained it in so much detail, but you can change it however you want. I'm always hungry for your stuff, in any form. And feel free to ignore this if you don't want to write about it. And of course, please don't mind my English; it's not my first language.
Ily,take care.
Very much can do that!! Yes!
Ghost sat in his cabin up the mountains, using his sniper to look down at everyone. He knew that right now there were two different groups of people camping. One further down that seemed to be full of experienced campers and one a bit higher up that set up their spot for their view. They were way too close for comfort.
Neither were particularly good company. No one was.
Ghost hated people. Especially fuckers who came on to the mountain for camping.
He had hoped this secluded place in the middle of nowhere would provide peace. Instead he just dealt with this.
Ghost put his gun away. It was for hunting and he was worried any gunshots would send the campers into a frenzy. He had plenty of food for the winter thanks to Price sending him stuff. Price insisted he just used Ghost's pension for it but he didn't believe him. Old sap probably used his own money.
Ghost went to his cabin and cleaned instead. Not that it really needed it. Besides the fact that he meticulously cleaned most of the time, nothing he did made much of a mess. It was mostly just dusting the books off to make sure they didn't get dry rot.
The snow started. A lot harsher than he had been expecting. It started to pile up on his porch and it made the roof creak a little.
Ghost imagined it caving in and crushing him. Suffocating under the weight of wood and snow.
There were worse deaths.
Further down the mountain, Soap went a little away from the group he came up with. He set up his tent and planned to relax for the next two days.
No cell service which was exactly what he needed. No worrying Mam, no angry ex trying to get him back. Just silence.
Soap was so bored. He supposed it was his fault for expecting anything less. He was not a person that sat still often. Always searching for the next thing. The next adventure.
This did not feel like an adventure. It felt stale.
Soap noticed the snow so he only walked within the vicinity of his tent. He followed the protocol, but it took one stumble for him to fall out of bounds. Quickly, Soap scrambled back up and glanced at his tent. Still right there, just slightly farther than before.
Maybe some sleep would do him some good.
Soap settled into his tent, ignoring the snow piling on top of it. It just kept coming. Covering him in a freezing cold blanket of water.
The tent had a hole in it. He had just bought it, he had no idea what he did to cause it. Although small, it was definitely messing up the whole insulation part of this. It also let snow in which started to melt, getting him and his clothes wet.
Frustration started to bubble over. He wasn't experienced at camping but he wasn't an idiot. This wouldn't work. He'd have to either fix it or leave and he wasn't sure how he could even leave.
Thanks to the water, his arm was soaked, cold digging in so hard it felt like actual needles. He tried to dry himself off but the whole situation wasn't working.
Reluctantly, he ignored that he was still slightly wet and got dressed. He'd just go out for help.
The people he came with weren't there. Or at least, they weren't where he thought they were. He didn't want to believe the guide they came would be so stupid as to not count the people before evacuating if they did, but he also said he wanted seclusion and lied about being experienced.
Maybe they assumed he already left?
Soap panicked for a moment. He allowed himself that. Before he straightened up and started thinking. There was no way he was the only person on the mountain. While he couldn't make it all the way down on his own, he was sure someone had to be there. It was mid morning, he had time before it got dark and cold.
Ghost sat on his porch close to twilight. He smoked silently, watching the trees.
The man had been walking around his property for a few minutes and Ghost was trying to figure out if he was a real person or not.
He sighed and whistled, watching him yank his head around painfully to stare at him.
"You okay?" Ghost called out.
Soap stepped a bit closer, no longer shivering. He was also holding his shoulder. "Are you God?"
"Oh for fuck's sake. Sure. I'm God. Where are your things?"
"I took them."
"Why are you jacketless in the middle of the snow?"
"It had gotten wet. Was trying to dry it out but it didn't really work..."
Ghost sighed. "Come closer."
Soap stumbled to the steps. His pants up to his knees were soaked and his face had pale skin with rosy patches.
Ghost sighed in frustration and opened the door. "Come on." He'd get the guy warm and then send him on his way. The snow wasn't too bad yet. Neither of them had a radio to know that it was predicted to get much worse.
So Ghost accepted him in and had him sit in front of the fire. He found a dry blanket and wrapped it around his shoulders. "You okay?"
Soap started to shiver.
"Guess not."
"Got a drink?" Soap rasped out.
Ghost poured him a nip of bourbon and handed him.
"Don't suppose you got Scotch?" Soap said softly before knocking back the drink. He grimaced and Ghost was sure he heard a mutter under his breath about British people having shit taste.
Ghost watched the way the alcohol raced through him. Color almost immediately back in his face. "Thanks. Name's Soap by the way."
"...Ghost. The fuck you doing up there?" Ghost went by his callsign since there was no way someone would name their kid Soap. He thought of asking him about his shoulder but decided against it.
Soap sighed. "Trying to clear my head." He flinched when Ghost laughed at him.
"Piss poor job of preparing."
"Aye. Suppose I thought myself a survivalist." Soap laughed softly before averting his eyes. He looked embarrassed.
Good.
Ghost put the bottle of bourbon next to him. "Drink as much as you want." He knew he'd barely make a dent on the bottle.
Soap only took what he had to. He managed to get himself warm.
Ghost looked out at the sky. Too dark to send him anywhere.
"In the morning, I'll show you the way down the mountain."
"Yes, sir." Soap looked at him. He seemed almost indignant. Like Ghost was being bossy.
Ghost bit his tongue. "fuck off. Go to bed near the fire. You'll need to stay warm all night."
Soap nodded and laid down. "Don't have to tell me twice."
Ghost went to his bedroom, brandishing a knife. He stayed there and watched the door all night. Just in case. Just in case.
Soap stayed in the living room and he tried to Keep warm. Ghost would come in like clockwork to put more wood on the fire.
During the night, the snow came down harder. Before long, it was at the door, covering the entire porch.
Ghost groaned as he watched it. While yes, he may be able to go down by himself, he'd never be able to get Soap down the mountain as well. As much as he hated it, he also likely wouldn't be able to make it back.
Soap stirred and groaned, holding his shoulder. He saw the outside and before long came to the same realization that Ghost did. "So we bunking together?" It sounded sheepish, like there was a risk that Ghost would throw him out into the cold.
Ghost sighed. "Yeah we are. I have a guest room that i haven't used in ages. I'll get it set up."
"And I had to sleep on the floor... why?"
"Be closer to the fire." Ghost left him alone to brush the dust off of everything. He had planned to turn it into a gym or something equally useful, but never did. The stupid room came with the house.
Once it was livable, Ghost came back out. "You can go in. I'll make breakfast. We'll be up here a while. It's still snowing so it's hard to tell."
"You have a vehicle or anything?"
"Nope. We'll be walking."
Soap cursed in a funny language and stretched, back popping. "How long you guessing?"
"A week. Minimum."
Soap winced. "Sorry for the... everything."
Ghost stared at him for a moment before just going in. He cooked breakfast silently and Soap sat nearby. Occasionally, he'd start talking, but Ghost didn't respond to any of it.
"Oh come on. You're going to be stuck with me for a week. Might as talk to me. What are you doing up here so isolated?"
Ghost put a plate of eggs, bacon and hashbrowns in front of him. He sat across from him and yanked his mask up just enough to start eating.
His scars had the effect he hoped. Soap winced at the harsh smile cut into Ghost's face. "Aye. I see."
"Good." Ghost answered, shoveling food down. He mentally counted through his supplies. He had enough for a few months, so with two people, it should be fine. This bastard was getting none of his ice cream though.
Soap ate quietly before swallowing. "Gang?"
"Military." Ghost admitted begrudgingly.
"Aye. I see. I'm a sergeant right now."
"Retired." Ghost drank some of his tea.
Soap nodded. "Look, I'm not trying to be an ass here. Really. You don't have to talk to me. But. Do you have any coffee?"
Ghost stared at him for a minute before getting up and checking. "I got instant and regular."
"Got a coffee pot?"
"French press. It was a gift."
Soap's eyebrows scrunched together. "You know how to use it?"
"...No."
"Fuck."
They put their heads together and worked with the French Press until they managed to get a cup of coffee brewing. Ghost watched the stuff bubble and huffed. "Tea is easier to make."
"Coffee tastes better."
"Yeah, right." Ghost continued drinking his tea.
"Since we got it figured out, do you at least wanna cup to try your gift?"
Ghost sighed. "Yeah, why not."
Black coffee was just as dreadful as he remembered. He added some sugar, ignoring Soap's mildly judgmental gaze.
The first day was spent with Ghost trying to do his normal routine of reading or working out and Soap being incredibly bored. Ghost felt too uncomfortable to do most of his workout routine with him around and decided to give up.
"Do you have internet? Or anything? Most of my stuff was left in my tent."
Ghost sighed. "No. How far away was your tent?"
Soap hummed. "No clue honestly. I don't think it was that far, but there should be a trail of my clothing. I have no idea why I started taking it off."
"Hypothermia makes you feel warm after a while. It's some psychological thing. It's why some people who are frozen to death are found naked."
Soap grimaced at him. "That's horrifying."
Ghost shrugged and showed him the guest room. It was pretty nice, if a bit plain. Soap fell on the bed and groaned. "Firm. I like that."
Ghost hit his boots. "I'll try to find your tent tomorrow. Get some sleep."
The second day he found himself being trailed by Soap despite the asshole clearly should be staying at home. He kept touching and rubbing at his shoulder. Ghost was trying not to ask, but he'd need to eventually. If he got infected, that would make everything a lot harder.
They found his tent and Soap went searching for his phone. Unfortunately it was dead and when they got home, they found that his charger had too much water damage to help. Soap sighed and rubbed his face. "I knew I shouldn't have come out here."
"Why did you?"
Soap thought about it for a second before turning towards him. "My ex." He was careful not to include man or woman. This guy could be homophobic for all he knew.
Ghost nodded. "Got it. Their fault or yours?"
Soap blinked. "What?"
"You cheat on them and up here hiding from it? Lot of guys do. Or did you come up here because they're a right prick?"
They. Not she. They. Soap picked up on the pronouns and took a deep breath. "They asked me to leave the military. I said no. They said stuff."
Ghost tilted his head. "I see. Well. They can't exactly find you up here."
"Aye. Guess they can't." Soap smiled.
On the third day. Ghost went searching and found his dvd player and old tv. He showed Soap his dvd collection.
Soap hummed. "More romance movies than I'd expect."
"I inherited my mum's collection." Ghost lied.
"Uh huh." Soap picked a movie and put it on, happy to have something else to do besides sit there. How Ghost did it was beyond him.
On the fourth day, Soap even managed to convince Ghost to sit with him through one of the movies. It was a romance movie that Ghost had memorized. It was a film where she had to travel across Ireland and stayed with a nice Irish man throughout the journey.
Soap drank some more of the coffee and it seemed to calm him down a little.
After a bit of hesitation, Ghost looked at him. "You smoke weed?"
"No." Soap glanced at him.
"You wanna start?"
Soap took a deep breath. "Fuck it. Sure."
Ghost pulled out a joint and lit it. He took the first hit and then gave it to Soap.
Soap coughed and Ghost laughed at him. "It's a little different than a cigarette."
"Yeah, a little bit, sir." Soap smiled at him and they passed it back and forth for a bit.
Ghost felt the pretty much permanent ache throughout his body disappear. It seemed to do the same for Soap's shoulder.
They both relaxed for a bit and Soap looked over at him. "You're a cool guy, Ghost."
"Thank you." Ghost smiled at him and kept smoking. They put on another movie and relaxed for a while. It took the edge off.
Soap swallowed. "Why are you up here?"
"It sucks down there."
"Does it get lonely?"
"Sometimes." Ghost mumbled, his head falling against the couch. Around people he was usually always wide awake. Too scared. But Soap made him feel weirdly safe.
Soap fell asleep against his shoulder and Ghost followed soon after.
When they wake up, the fire had been out for hours and the house was freezing.
"Fucking hell." Ghost got up and tried to start a new fire but it wasn't sparking.
Soap shivered. "Well, that's not great. Anything i can do to help?"
Ghost checked the wood. It was fucking damp for some reason. He couldn't figure out why but that would be better for morning when he had more light. "My bedroom has the least amount of windows."
Soap's eyes gleamed as they shacked up in there. Ghost covered his windows with curtains and grabbed some more blankets as he turned on the lights.
His room was far better decorated than any other part of the house. His bed was covered in quilts and high quality soft pillows. A cabinet in the corner had tons of photos from Ghost in his time in the military. Most of them had Ghost's own face covered with marker.
"You know Captain Price?"
"Yeah, I know John." Ghost rearranged a few things and started to strip off his jacket.
Soap paused to stare, admiring the muscles that were revealed when the shirt followed right after. His pants unfortunately did not come off too. "Take off your shirt."
Soap nodded and followed the order. Was this happening? Were they about to fuck right here and right now? The worst part was he was going to let it happen.
Ghost pulled him into bed and shifted so he was fucking spooning him. "Fucking hell I was cold." He settled into the warmth and promptly closed his eyes, pretending nothing was happening.
Soap was in heaven. Or maybe hell. Either way he was getting hard and that was not great.
Ghost fell back to sleep. Soap was ridiculously hard, pressed against a beautifully muscled chest. He could feel each of Ghost's breaths with the rise and fall of it. In a desperate attempt to calm down, he thought of war. His ex. The fact that his ex was probably trying to blow up his very dead phone.
Soap thought of his ex and felt a strange lump in his throat. God he didn't want to go home. He really didn't want to. His ex would be at his heels like a baying fucking dog to nip at his fucking heels.
Soap let out a sharp noise, a bit like a sob, and quickly bit his lip to shut up.
Ghost pulled him closer. "Soap?"
"My name is Johnny."
Ghost's thumb rubbed circles in his chest. "Johnny." Oh that beautiful voice. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Simon. You okay?"
"My ex tried to hurt me. I'm military, don't know why he thought it was a smart idea. But when I defended myself, he was just... so cruel. Called me shit I never wanted to hear again. Accidentally made myself upset over it."
"I'm sorry, Johnny."
"S'okay. Nothing to do with you. You're the first person that hasn't made me feel worse honestly."
"Not worse. I'll take it." Ghost sounded a tiny bit amused. He squeezed him. "Do you feel warmer?"
"Yes. Feels nice in this bed with you." Soap didn't mean to sound quite as suggestive as he did, but Ghost noticed. His grip loosened briefly before tightening again, tangling their legs together. "Simon."
Ghost turned him onto his back and kissed him, having pulled up his mask at some point. His scars tickled a little. It was pretty nice honestly.
Soap's fingers ran down his chest to his pant's button and undid it for him. "Is this okay?"
"Should be asking you that." Ghost gruffed. "Don't have to do too much tonight, but you're hard."
"So are you. Can feel you through your jeans." Soap smiled at him. He slowly unzipped his pants and touched over Ghost's cock.
Ghost let out a small whine. "Fuck, it's been so long." He quickly unzipped Soap's pants and pulled him out, having no shame about it. His hand fit around both of them and his thumb easily ran over Soap's head.
"Me too. Won't judge you if you don't last long." Soap teased, pulling him back to kiss him again. He groaned as he thrust up. "Nice and easy, yeah?"
Ghost rutted into him and moved his hand in time. They kept kissing as his hand found a decadent rhythm, truly stretching the pleasure out for both of them.
Soap moaned and his back arched trying to press himself even closer. "Simon."
Ghost bit his lip hard and paid more attention to Soap's cock, trying to get him closer and closer. He felt him start to pant into his mouth and licked into his mouth happily.
Simon buried his face into his throat and came over his chest. Despite this, he managed to keep his hand moving so Soap followed after a moment later.
Johnny kissed him softly. "Later, if you have lube, I'll let you fuck me."
Simon wondered briefly if he was a rebound and then decided he didn't particularly care. "Okay."

Headcanons for the Links.
Sky
A very tired badass.
He has type 2 narcolepsy- it is mild enough that it doesn't cause too many issues but unfortunately other than trying to sleep he can’t do much for it.
Loves big birds. His loftwing is his favorite living being other than Sun so there is some affection for bigger birds that comes through. Through their journey he gets introduced to a bird that resembles a Shoebill and just spends hours watching them.
One of the best swordsmen.
For reference this is a Shoebill
Tumblr media
Time
Uses verbal speech to communicate now that he has grown up and had a chance to move past some of his trauma, however when he is alone with Zelda/ Sheik they typically use only signs.
Only puts up with coocoos for Malon.
Find’s Wild’s Koroks to be incredibly amusing especially when he learns of their pranks.
Has what they can figure out about the timeline and their places drawn out in a book he keeps with him.
Warriors
Third oldest of the group- he is only about six months younger than Twilight but refuses to admit it.
Can’t understand Koroks language but he understands and is great with all kinds of fairies.
Actually has three of the same scarf. He pretends to be completely attached to it like it is one of a kind but almost always has a spare in his bag.
A one of the best swordsmen of the group.
Totally uses his scarf to fight people. - he is constantly tripping and smacking enemies or the chain with it when he fights/spars.
Legend
Actually loves getting his hair done and dying it but since meeting the captain and teasing him he has to be subtle about his appearance.
Enjoys trading little knit knacks and items with Wild.
He is actually pretty close with Sky and enjoys just existing with him during breaks and at camp before they go to bed.
Twilight
Great Horseman. Before his adventure he was a great rider but during his adventure he became great at fighting while on Epona.
He can cook basic things like meat skewers, he knows how to make pumpkin soup but it is completely different from the one from skyloft and because of this he and Sky fight over which one is better every time someone suggests pumpkin soup.
Sometimes forgets that he could turn back into a person to do tasks. This leads to Time and Four being extremely confused after finding him trying to open doors or the buckles on a bag with his paws.
Wind
Loves to braid complicated sailor knot like braids into those with hair long enough- i.e. Four, WId, and legend.
Before the chain's journey he was a terrible cook. He still isn’t an amazing one but after helping Wild cook usually at least one meal a day for months he has learned some valuable skills to show off for his grandma.
Is amazing at throwing daggers. Learned to win a bet again’t Tetra and has been improving ever since.
Hyrule
Terrible cook because he is half fairy. His fairy side mixes things up between what would taste good for hylians and what is full of magic/ good for fairies.
Pyromaniac. He loves a good explosion but none of the Chain believe Wild when he says Hyrule is responsible for half of the explosions they cause.
Amazing artist. His cave is covered in paintings made from ash and plants that depict his adventure or his nightmares.
Four
Has the urge to tell the chain about how he is made up of four people at least once a week in the beginning.
Contrary to popular belief he actually enjoys working with Wild to teach him more about weapon care and making a weapon he can’t break.
Constantly knocks the knees out from under Warriors, Twilight, and Legend. Not because of short jokes but because he enjoys causing chaos like every reincarnation of the Hero’s spirit and seeing their faces as they go down is too priceless.
Wild
His world has soul paint, and he is covered in it but none of the others have it or can see it and it sometimes leads to awkward moments where he mentions some of the colors and the others just stare at him.
One of the best swordsmen out of the group. He was beating full grown men as a child and he had months for his journey to remember/ relearn.
Open book about the basics with the chain but most of his journey/ life is kept very private.

Chapter 1086 — The Five Elder Planets
What a great chapter to leave off on a break for! The theorizing will go wild…
First, Igaram's concern for Vivi is touching:
Tumblr media
…while Pell and Chaka are looking out for their king, as the guardian deities of Arabasta should.
Something is in the air, if the faces of the other royals are anything to go by. They don't look like a happy bunch; rumours from the last leg of the Reverie?
Second, have I already said how much I love the WE HQ? It's a flying kettle! That shoots out News Coos!
I love it.
Tumblr media
I wonder at what point Wapol caved and told Vivi what had happened to her dad. They said she'd been crying when they arrived at the WE HQ, so before current day events, but here he's still trying to deflect her questions. Maybe she figured it out from his denial? Maybe he just told her? Who knows (I want to know).
And then, totally unnecessary fandom speculation!
About a ship!
Tumblr media
(Poor lil' Bonney. I'm sure being pint-sized helped her get aboard the ship easier, but it also underlines her quest: she is literally a child on her way to save her father.)
(By the way: in our universe, Tajine is a North African dish, also known as maraq or marqa.)
The drawing order and perspectives makes it look like Sabo is lying in the stem/front. Normally the sides mainly bulge outward from the keel, but here the planks curve distinctly up. However, when looking at traditional sailing ships, the shape doesn't work that way there:
Tumblr media
(Link)
It can look like that in the aft:
Tumblr media
(Link)
The other explanation might be an assistant's perspective mistake when drawing the bilge, or Lulusia's ship has a quite rare inward-bulging bow.
One of the few examples I found is the dhow, an Arabic ship:
Tumblr media
(Link), although the 3D model can give a better view of the keel and curvature:
Tumblr media
(Link)
So either Lulusia has a really, really cool royal ship, or there's some perspective shenanigans going on.
And now, back to our regularly scheduled analysis.
So.
Tumblr media
…the floor is so horribly at odds with the rest of the room. Just sayin'.
Presenting: the SECOND tangent of the post.
During the 15th to 17th centuries, so covering reneissance, baroque and rococo, intricate decorations were the thing to have. The exact style and execution varied, of course, but you still were supposed to have so much detailing all over the place, both due to structural reasons (hiding those load-bearing columns and beams and servants and such) and style (look at all the money I have to put on this stuff).
Pangea Castle looks quite a bit like the Château de Chambord, so smack dab French reneissance architecture. Normally, you'd do parquet floors in the fancier parts of the castle, which means geometric and rectangular, like so:
Tumblr media
(Link)
Of course, you could do circular, but then it'd probably be inspired by Roman mosaics, and thus geometric and repetitive, like so:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Link 1, Link 2)
The floor in Pangea Castle is… just weird. I know there's probably art-related reasons for it (looks interesting, not as boring as a grid, etc), but the polka dot pattern really sticks out.
End of second tangent, s'il vous plaît.
Tumblr media
Oda truly is a master storyteller.
The readers have been going bonkers for a few months now, trying to figure out what Devil Fruit powers Imu has based on the complete eradication of Lulusia. Is it star power? Is it nuclear? Is it pure light? Is it something completely different?
And then it turns out to be the One Piece-version of nuclear weapons, completing the parallells between Vegapunk and Einstein: both brilliant scientists who wanted to work for peace and the good of humanity, but whose insights were quickly weaponised.
It i also interesting to see how quick the Five Elders are to accept that Imu wants to eradicate a whole kingdom who is part of the World Government. I figure this might lead to more rebellion. After all, what is it worth to be a member of the WG if you're still not protected against horrible acts of violence? The only reason shown so far for people want to join the WG is based on pirates and the navy: they get protection and pay for the Celestial Dragons upkeep. I can't see this continuing much longer when the news about Lulusia get out – because at least Vegapunk will put two and two together. It was his invention being used, after all.
Tumblr media
We have names!
Which might change when the official translation comes out!
But still. Interesting selections. Finance might comprise all financial activity, but why is then agriculture (food production) separate from environment (nature itself)? Mercantile activity is quite far from macroeconomic theories, which makes the lumping of all economic stuff under one heading quite interesting.
Tumblr media
THERE IS A S-FLAMINGO!
My life is now complete.
I wonder why S-Croc looks so sad, though. S-Gecko and S-Flamingo looks like they're having the time of their lives, after all.
Also: what powers do they have? All the possibilities!
Tumblr media
I wonder what Dragon is wondering about. He has a lot of ellipses this chapter and few words to spare. Does he agree with Sabo's decision to keep silent and live the lie? Does he disapprove? What does Iva-chan think about it all?
Tumblr media
Ancient weapon, my old friend? The Arc Maxim 2.0? Something Completely Different?
(Also: traditional European-style ship depicted here as Lulucia's vessel. Yet the dream for a dhow still lives on!)
Jumping a bit, but Iva puts all our thoughts into words here so neatly:
Tumblr media
In Egghead, Vegapunk says it's his dream to create the ultimate energy source. However, he doesn't say he's managed to do so yet: he's still working towards it. Therefore the thing Sabo saw probably wasn't an ancient weapon – or if it was, it wasn't at full power. Or then it was a "fire once and find another mother flame"-solution.
Whatever it was, it was horrible news for the people of Lulusia.
And then: the identity of Imu.
Tumblr media
There's so many theories going on, tying Imu to the Roman emperor Nero or the city of Verona or the small coastal village of Nerano , also in Italy. From where we get to another Roman emperor, who is actually called Nerona: Tiberio Nerone, also known as Tiberius, an able politician who spent his last years on the island of Capri.
I'm sure we'll see where Oda draws his inspiration from sooner or later.
And the other big reveal of the chapter: the Figarland family.
Tumblr media
(I don't think Oda will kill off Mjosgard. He is sentenced, he is not dead yet. Will the solution be banishment, a figurative death? We'll see, I'm sure.)
(I like the moon hair!)
(Edit: The cake line had me wheezing. Seriously. Scared the cat.)
I haven't seen Film Red yet, but as I gather from others, it's revealed that Shanks is a Figarland. He was also found on God Valley by Roger, so putting two and two together, we get a family connection.
However, what I'm interested in is the rankings of Celestial Dragons.
a) Saint Figarland Garling was a king
b) He is a Celestial Dragon
c) He has the power to be both judge, jury and probably executioner
How does it all fit together?
CDs are hitherto shown to just laze around in Mary Geoise and sometimes descend into the plebeian world for their own amusement. None of them is shown to be involved in the world as kings – that's the thing they specifically abdicated from 800 years ago. So why was Figarland a king? What was his role on God Valley – and what was God Valley?
So interesting! Much to think about.
I give the chapter thumbs up for lore drops and the chance for a well-deserved rest.

Tumblr media
Bella walked into the boy's apartment to find a girl crying watching dirty dancing with box's on the floor on their living room floor. She walked over to where all the boys sat staring at her.
"So this is Jess?" Bella asked and they all nodded their heads.
"Break up?" Bella asked after few more seconds of silence and they all nodded their heads again.
"What have you done, Schmidt?" Nick asked as Jess blew her nose.
Bella turned and walked back out going back over to her apartment where Theo sat on couch watching TV.
"Hey, you meet Jess?" He asked as she sat down beside him and she nodded her head.
"Is she nice?" Theo asked looking back at the TV.
"Uh, she is currently going through a break up and is sitting in their living watching dirty dancing crying her eyes out." Bella told him and he looked at her with wide eyes.
"Dang, they have their hands full." Theo said taking a sip of his water.
"Yeah." Bella nodded her head.
%
Bella and Theo walked over to the boy's seeing Jess on the couch and the boys sat at the island in the kitchen.
"So the Wild West party's on Saturday. I'm trying to get us in, but you may need to call Caroline." Schmidt looked at Nick.
"I'm not calling Caroline." Nick shook his head.
"Nick, hear me out.."
"Shh." Nick covered Schmidt mouth.
"Had the time of my life." Jess sang from the couch.
"We are in this situation because of you." Nick pointed at Jess who started punching a pillow.
"I hate your face, Spencer. I love you." Jess cried.
"It has been a week of this madness. I'm going crazy, Schmidt. I can't take it." Nick pointed at Jess
"You know what, I got this." Coach said slapping the table and standing up and walked over to the coach sitting by Jess.
"Hi, Coach." Jess said looking up at him before looking back at the tv.
"Stop it. Stop. Schmidt." Coach called when Jess started crying again.
"Okay, all right. I got us into this, I'm gonna get us out." Schmidt slapped Nicks back before walking over to Jess.
"Jess, I'm gonna take the remote. All right, All right.  Hey, Jess, how you doing?" Schmidt asked her as she pointed at the tv, "You look fantastic. What if you came out with us tonight? You know, after work. You know, we'll fix you up, we'll take you out, we'll get you a rebound." Schmidt asked her as Coach, Nick, Theo, and Bella all walked over.
"A rebound?" She asked
"Yeah."
"I don't know if I'm ready."
"You're totally ready for it. I'll take you through the whole thing and Bella will help me. We'll be... We'll be like your guide." Schmidt said as Bella looked at him like he was crazy.
"Like Gandalf through Middle-earth?"
"Probably not like...Okay. First of all, let's take the "Lord of the Rings." references, let's put them in a deep dark cave, okay. Where no one's gonna find them, ever." Bella told her leaning against the coach.
"Except Smeagol. He lives in a cave." She whispered the last part.
"You know what, Jess, come on. Let's just take the head off the couch. Come on. Sit up, girl." Schmidt told her and she slowly sat up.
"There you go." Coach nodded his head.
"Look at that. Doesn't that feel good? There we go."
"I think that sounds nice. She's going out to find a rebound Who's that girl? It's Jess." She sung the last part.
"Wait, did you just make up a theme song for yourself?" Theo asked as he took a sip of the coffee he got off the counter.
"I'm... we're gonna fix it." Schmidt said grabbed Bella's hand showing them that they would fix it as Bella rolled her eyes and yanked her hand away.
%
Bella was showering when she heard the door open.
"Hey, where's the deodorant?" She heard Theo ask.
"Should be in the top drawer." She said as she shaved the last part of her leg then turned the water off.
"Thanks." He said before putting it on.
Bella grabbed her towel wrapping it around her and stepped out of the shower to see Theo styling his hair in the mirror.
Bella got dressed under towel before throwing the towel in the bin in the corner before walking over to Theo. She grabbed the hair gel from the the drawer and put a little bit in her hand before helping him out with his hair. Once finished she started on her own hair. She blew dried her hair and then curled it.
Once finished she went and got dressed in her outfit. She got dressed and a nice black dress with black heels. When she walked into the living room Theodore was looking down at his phone. He wore a black suit.
Tumblr media
He looked up at her smiling.
"You look beautiful, as always." He smiled at her then leaned over kissing her cheek.
"You don't look to bad yourself. Ready to go?" She asked him and he nodded his head.
He laid his hand on the small of her back as he led her out to the car.
They went to the bar and sat down next to Schmidt, Jess, and Coach, while Nick worked. Nick came over with all their drinks and set down them in front of them.
"Beers and two rose." Nick said and set down to pink wines and front of the Jess and Bella and gave the guys all beers.
"Pink wine makes me slutty." Jess said then took a big sip of her drink.
"Whoa, cute guy alert." Jess said then started moving her glasses around making weird sounds.
"Okay, Jess, game time. Let's do this. You want to forget about Spencer, you're gonna have to do some very, very bad things with that man right over there." Schmidt pointed to the guy she said was cute.
"How bad?" She asked.
"Real bad, Jess. Real bad." Schmidt shook his head.
"Like a make out sesh, no tops?" Jess asked him making him raise his eyebrows.
"Okay, this is what's gonna happen. You're gonna go over there and you're gonna stand next to him and you're gonna smile." Bella told her and Jess gave her a weird smile.
"You're not gonna smile like that." Bella told her and she gave her another weird smile.
"You look like a hungry badger." Schmidt commented and she gave another weird smile.
"Stop that." Coach told her.
"Okay, I got this, I got this." Jess stood up.
"You got it. Just go make it happen." Schmidt told her.
"Game on! Grind it out! Grind it out!" Coach cheered her on as she walked over to the guy.
"Go do it!" Schmidt told her.
They watched her walk over to the guy then look at him and lean towards him putting her hands on her hips.
"Hey, Sailor." She said to him
"Oh, all right." Coach watched.
"All right." Theo looked down at his beer.
"That okay. Maybe he didn't hear that." Coach clapped his hands.
"You can come back from it." Schmidt told her.
"Holy Schmidt! It's Schmidt!" Some guy said walking up to them.
"Oh, it's all about the Benjamin! What's up?" Schmidt asked bro hugging him.
"That's right." Benjamin laughed.
"What's up, man?" Ben asked
"All right. P-Funk, what's up, dude? This is Coach, Theodore, and Bella." Schmidt pointed at the three other people beside him.
"Whats up, guys?" Ben asked them and none of them said anything, He looked down at Bella giving her a suggestive look and she tucked herself into Theo's side making him put his arm around her waist making Ben look at Theo.
"You like parties?" Ben asked making Coach shake his head.
"Don't talk to us." Coach told him.
"Yeah, okay." Ben said then Coach, Theo, and Bella all walked away.
"God, creep. Why is Schmidt friends with the weirdest people?" Bella asked
"He ain't actually friends with them. He just wants to be liked so he acts like it." Theo shook his head as they sat at the bar where Nick and Coach watched Schmidt try to fit in and fail before he walked over to them at the bar.
"Nick, please." Schmidt said sitting down.
"Why are you friends with those guys?" Nick asked him.
"Nick, please get me in that party. I'm begging you, please." Schmidt begged.
"No, I'm not calling Caroline." Nick shook his head.
"Do you know what a cute cowboy I am? Do you have any idea?" Schmidt asked making Nick turn and go back to work and Coach get up and walk away.
"Your really stealing our cowboy and cowgirl idea?" Bella asked him
"Yes, do you know what a cute cowboy I am?" He asked her making her get up and walk away.
%
A while later Coach, Schmidt, Bella, and Theo were all sat at the bar watching Jess flirt with Peter otherwise known as P-funk, as Schmidt called him.
"She's doing all right, hmm?" Coach asked as they watched Jess laugh at whatever Peter said.
"Schmidt stain! Hey, man, I was thinking,  it's probably better that you don't come to the party. That means more breast for me." Ben walked over giving a weird girly laugh.
"You better step down, son. You're taking this thing way to far. I'm ser- hold me back, Coach, Theo. I'm seri- Hold me back. Hold me back! Coach, Theo, would one of you please hold me back?" Schmidt turned to them when neither got up to hold him back.
"No." Coach and Theo said in sink.
"Schmidt were going to the party, relax." Nick came up to them.
"Nice, see you there, Schmitty." Ben clapped his shoulder walking away as Schmidt let out a laugh.
"Totally, broseph." Schmidt said before looking over at Nick with a shocked face.
"Yeah, I texted Caroline." Nick said wiping his hands with a napkin.
"You texted Caroline?" Theo asked.
"It's not big deal. It's behind me. It's in the past, so..." Nick shrugged.
"Thank you. I love you, bro." Schmidt said pulling Nick across the bar to hug him.
"Yeah, there it is." Nick tapped his back making a face.
"Did you just kiss my arm a little?" Nick asked him pointing at his arm as Schmidt nodded his head.
"You bet I did. It felt right." Schmidt nodded his head before Jess and Peter walked over to them.
"So, I'll see you tomorrow, Sailor." Peter told her before turning and walking away.
"Yeah, cool. Call... cool." Jess tried to be cool about it.
"What's happening tomorrow, Sailor?" Nick asked leaning against the bar.
"You know what? You guys were totally right. I talk in short sentences, I didn't sing, I laughed, I smiled, I said I needed rebound sex, and it totally worked. He asked me out. Dinner! With food. Ooh! Ooh!" Jess sung the last part, while 'raising the roof' with her hands.
"I'm so proud of you." Schmidt hugged her.
"You got it, girl.  You did good. Yeah, you put it diz-out!" Coach said high fiving her.
"Awesome job!" Bella gave her a high five next.
"It's Jess, she's on fire." Jess sung before turning and walking away dancing making them all groan at the horrible dance moves.
"All right, should we tell her?" Nick asked as they all watched her walk away.
"I think we let her have her moment." Schmidt waved her off.
%
Bella and Theodore walked into the guys apartment to find Coach, Schmidt, and Nick all sat on the coach in front of girl, who just stared at them.
"Ahem, what's going on?" Bella cleared her throat grabbing their attention, "Hi, I'm Bella, this is Theodore, but we call him Theo." Bella pointed at Theo who sat down by Nick as Bella shook the girls hand.
"Hi, CeCe. Jess's friend." The girl said and Bella smiled.
"Awesome! Glad we get to meet some of her friends!"
"Do the shoes fit, Jess?" CeCe called out to Jess, who was in her room getting ready, they heard walking then a thud.
"I'm okay." Jess called as Bella sat down beside Theodore, pulling her phone out.
"What, are you a model or something?" Coach asked CeCe.
"Yeah. Yes. Mostly print right now, So....." CeCe nodded her head.
"What is it, CeCe?" Schmidt asked smiling, "Cecilia? Checilia? Tell me, what are you're hopes in dreams? You know, are you warm? I'm a little warm right now." Schmidt said and he sat up taking his shirt off.
"Don't Schmidt." Nick told him.
"All right. Oh, yeah. There it is." Schmidt said pumping his chest out before sititng back down.
"Please put your shirt back on. Please don't make me laugh at you." CeCe told him.
"I agree, nobody, I mean nobody wants to see that." Bella shook her head.
"Can I hit you up with some tea? A little herb tea? Oh, my god. How good is that? For real? What? Little p-mint tea? Yum, right? Hot, sweet. Little tea bag action. And, I wasn't.. I wasn't talking about..." Schmidt chuckled as they all stared at him disgusted.
"There it is. Douchebag." Nick said grabbing the douchebag jar.
"Listen to me, you guys. Jess is by far the best person that I know, so, if you guys let anything happen to her, I'm gonna come here and carzy murder you." CeCe told them and they all nodded their heads.
"I'm gonna be honest with you. I did not hear a word that you just said, 'cause I can kind of see your party hats right now." Schmit continued you on.
"There you go." Theo said grabbing the douchebag jar this time.
"Jess!" CeCe stood up and went to her room
"Why are you talking like this?" Nick asked him and Schmidt just stared at him.
While CeCe helped Jess the rest of them got on with their normal task. Theo and Bella sat on the guy's couch watching tv when CeCe walked out of the room in coverall and a t-shirt then after CeCe waved her in Jess walked in, in CeCe's dress with her hair up and a handbag, and black high heels looking beautiful.
"Wow!"  Coach looked her up and down and she shrugged.
"Thanks, Coach." Jess smiled and the room went quite before Jess started dancing and beatboxing.
"And then she does that." Schmidt said setting down his tablet. Bella leaned forward grabbing a small pebble and threw it out him.
"I'm gonna text him, tell him I'm headed over." Jess said pulling her phone out of her bag.
"Wait. Have you been texting him?" Nick asked.
"Is that bad?" Jess asked slightly worried.
"No. It's nice. Have a good night." Nick smiled and nodded his head slightly at her.
"This is gonna be great." Jess smiled
After Jess and CeCe lefted they all dressed up for the party and headed that way. As they walked through the people to the line they argued over all the costumes.
"Coach, you don't look anything like an Indian." Schmidt said as Bella grumbled.
"As least he didn't copy some else outfit." She grumbled. She wore a pair of dark wash boot cut jeans, with cowgirl boots, and blue button up shirt, and a cow girl hat. Theo wore dark wash boot cut jeans as well, with a white button up, cowboy boots, and a cowboy hat.
"Look, man, I got your back. You got to have mine, too." Coach told schmidt ignoring Bella.
"Coach, Me and Theo got your back." Nick told him.
"No, I want to hear it from him." Coach told him as they stopped at the front of the line and Nick walked away to go talk to Caroline.
"Coach, what sort of Indian wears bike shorts?" Schmidt asked and Coach rolled his eyes.
"I can't believe he stole our costume. So many other things he could have been but no.. he picked the same thing as us. This is bullshit." Bella grumbled as Theo smiled at her.
"You're cute when you're mad."
"Oh, come on, he doesn't even look as real as we do. He looks like a fool." Bella continued on ignoring Theo who just shook his head.
"Hey, Nick!" They heard someone and saw Caroline call Nick over from where he talked to some bouncer.
They watched him walk over to her and talk to her for a second before they heard a familiar voice.
"Get along, little doggy." They heard Ben say and turned to find him and p-funk walking up to them.
"Well, howdy there, muchachos." Ben walked over saying as they looked at P-funk confused.
"Hey, where's Jess?" Nick asked walking over.
"Oh, dude, she texted me seven times. Like, long ones. I just wanted to hook up." P-funk told them shrugging.
"So, is she waiting for you to show up, or did you call her?" Theo asked him and he laughed.
"Yea, that's what I did. I called her." P-funk and Ben walked away laughing and they all stood there watching them walk in laughing.
"Nick?" They heard Caroline call for him, "Want to get that drink?" She asked him.
"No.I got to go help a friend, Caroline." Nick said and turned and walked away. Coach, Theo, and Bella all walked away with him while Schmidt tried to stop them.
"No,no,no,no. Guys, this is the party of the year, you guys. This is our night. This is our night!" Schmidt continued to try and stop but they all kept walking.
"We're going with Nick, man. You coming?" Coach asked him as they all kept walking.
"I thought you guys were my boys!" He yelled after them.
"My boys is not a thing, schmidt. Stop." Nick said and then they ran off to the car.
"We're coming, Jess!" Coach yelled.
Not much longer later Schmidt eventually did catch up with them on thier way to restaurant. They ran in and yelled getting everyone's attention.
"We're here!" Nick yelled
"Yup, were here!" Coach yelled after as they walked over to Jess's table.
"You're all on a date?" The waiter asked.
"Yeah. We, uh... we're her boyfriends and one girlfriend. We are reversed mormons. One man didn't seem to be enough, neither did fou so we tried girls." Nick explained to the waiter as they all nodded behind him.
"Okay." The waiter walked away from them as they huddled around the table.
"Jess, that guy was a jerk." Bella told her and smiled as the rest agreed.
"He was a clown." Nick concluded.
"You guys missed your party to come here and... see me?" Jess asked as tears filled her eyes.
"Yea...we, uh.. care about you. We like you." Nick nodded his head as she started to wipe her eyes with her napkin.
"That's so nice." She sobbed.
"What is that?"
"Don't start crying."
"Come on."
"It's cool. It's very, very cool." Jess nodded her head as they all spoke up.
"Come on, Jess."
 "Please."
"Stop it!" Coach yelled pointing his finger at her.
"Coach." Bella slightly shoved him
"Alright." He hung his head.
"It's okay. Hey. Don't cry. For I've had The time of my life." Nick started singing.
"What is he doing?" Coach asked.
"And I've never felt this way before. Yes, it's true. Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, and something." Nick reached out and hit Coach to get him start singing.
"Something. Something. Oh, those bears in my house. And if the song that makes you really, really happy." Nick and Coach both sang as they rest of them stood their awkwardly.
"I'm not participatiing in this." Shcmidt shook his head before Nick hit him.
"Just remember you're the one thing. I can't get enough of." Schmidt started to add and all three men stood their singing off key and different lyrics for Jess.
"I've had the time of my life And I owe it all to you." They all sang together before the waiter quickly walked over.
"Hey! You have to leave now, all of you." The waiter told them and they nodded their heads as they made their way out of the restaurant.

The Chronicles of the Dark One: Domestic Battles
Chapter 41: Playing Against the Wild Card
This was a tricky game he was playing. He'd known ever since the moment he found the hat and took the dagger back that it would be. But he hadn't expected that this was where it would lead, with Belle beside him as they stood in the forest.
"Where is it?" Belle asked, spinning about as if looking for a mailbox labeled "Ice Queen."
"Well, if the magic brought us here, then it must be here somewhere," he answered.
The first play he'd made in this game of theirs was to buy time. He hadn't brought them right to the door of Ingrid's hideaway, instead delivered them a fair distance off, close enough that Belle would believe the magic had worked, but potentially enough time for him to get to the bottom of this situation and figure out what was going on her mind to cause her to break from her usual self. Because this version of Belle was most certainly not the woman he knew.
This insanity was a blow in so many ways, but at the moment, that was the fact that boggled his mind more than anything. He'd always believed he knew Belle's mind better than anyone, and to think that he couldn't conceive of what was happening at the moment, what had inspired this sudden burst of bravado that he knew she was going to regret later, bothered him.
"Over there!" she finally pointed before making her way in the correct direction so quickly he struggled to keep up without magic.
"Belle!" he called after her. He wanted to talk to her, to ask her questions, to figure out what was happening, but her intelligence and skills of observation didn't seem harmed in her clouded desperation. The time he'd bought for himself had already run out. Damn.
"This is it!" she exclaimed, stopping before the mouth of the cave he had discovered earlier. "This is where she's hiding?!"
Who else but an ice queen would cover a cave to hell in pure ice?
Fuck he didn't know if that was his sarcastic comment or another Dark One.
He held back a wince. That statement was at least part question, she'd been looking to him for response and yet…he was sarcastic with people he made deals with. Never Belle. Oh, was there a way back from this?
"Indeed," he answered quickly, his mind suddenly racing with images of the days before this when things had seemingly been perfect between the pair of them. Could they get back to that after she used the dagger?
Why would you want to be with someone who abuses the dagger? Nimue snarled.
The Dark One shook him from his stupor. That wasn't something he needed to worry about right now. Now, he had to worry about keeping his plan intact. Which, unfortunately, included…
"But she's not at home," he pointed out. "I don't sense her magic."
"Good." Belle nodded in understanding. Her back straightened a little as she looked at the mouth of the cave and took a breath. He could hear her heart racing. Clearly, she was frightened in addition to wound up, yet here she stood, putting on her bravery, ready to go inside. It was the bravery that attracted him to her, and yet, without an understanding of what was prompting it, it seemed uncharacteristically foolish.
"Okay. You stay here as lookout. I'm going in."
"Belle!" he caught her arm before she could go any further. Just because he could sense that Ingrid wasn't inside didn't mean he wanted her to go in there. He'd only caught glimpses of the place earlier, and there was Dark Magic, not to mention the place was made of ice. It was a hazard. And he might be confused and angry with her at the moment, but that didn't mean he was ready to throw her to the dogs and walk away. He wanted to understand. He wanted to understand everything. Why she was here? What had been bothering her? What triggered this? And at the moment, he wanted to understand why the fuck she'd bring him out here only to act as lookout?! "You're not going in there alone!"
"I won't be long, I just need to find something."
"What could you possibly want from the Snow Queen's cave?!"
"A hat-"
He felt a wave of cold wash over him, hindering his attempt to try and catch her again as he processed that word. No. She couldn't mean-
"-that can strip a magical being of all their power."
His mouth had gone dry, but his skin suddenly felt drenched in sweat. The world felt blurry and upside-down as he tried to regain his sense of being in his body. Even the Dark Ones grew silent.
She wasn't…she couldn't be thinking of…
The Sorcerer's Hat.
What other hat was there that fit that description?
"Sounds like a remarkable object," he managed, swallowing down his shock. It…it was a coincidence. She'd read about the hat somewhere. That was how she knew about it. He needed to focus. "Almost too good to be true, which means it probably is!"
"It isn't! And I know she has it, and I need to get it from her! It's the only way to force her to tell us where Anna is!"
Belle knew that Ingrid had the hat—or at least had possession of it at one point. Now, it was only a suspicion that she still had it, which meant she didn't have a clue that he possessed it.
It might have been a coincidence that she knew about the hat, but that she'd come here looking for it?! You need to get ahead of this situation you've created, Rumple.
And Anna…
"So, this is about Elsa's sister?"
Belle shook her head and moved closer to the cave. And he…he stopped her. He couldn't believe he hadn't seen it before this. Elsa's sister, Anna, the only other person he'd known to have taken possession of the hat. Anna...she'd only gotten odd after Anna had been mentioned when they'd come back from their honeymoon. Her heart only skipped a beat when Elsa was around. She'd only wanted to use the dagger on him after she'd gone to work in the library with Elsa, Anna's sister. Anna was the connection, but…how?! Why? What the fuck was going on?!
"Why are you so invested in a girl you've never met?!"
Every game one played always involved a little bit of luck and a little bit of risk. That was the source of the thrill of it. With Belle games were usually easy, he didn't need luck because risks with her were minimal. At least they had been before this particular fight. He'd been getting somewhere with her, putting two and two together in his mind to come up with a picture that provided him with the information he craved, and yet he'd forgotten that Belle wasn't in her right might. He'd been playing a game with a particular kind of Belle and never felt that more than he did right this second.
It was a simple question he'd asked, one that his Belle, the one who loved truth and was undaunted by some yet unseen connection, would have answered honestly in a heartbeat. But for this Belle, it was too much.
Her back straightened immediately. He watched as she reeled in that question and held her head high. She was tense and suddenly guarded in a way that his Belle wasn't.
"Because a hero always helps strangers!" she snapped at him, a rote answer, something like what a child would say, not because they felt it but because that was what they were trained to do.
But for Belle to respond in such a way to a question like that…
What had Belle done to Anna?

IMPRESSED, if you please!
The sun beats down. It’s hot and ruthless, punctuated by the whine of cicadas in the air. Birds chirp in the tree branches. Somewhere in the underbrush, a rodent stirs. And here, the tranquillity is broken by the sound of metal hitting stone. It's an uneven staccato, over and over and over again. Each clink is accentuated by rustling fabric and grunts of effort. It smells of sweat and minerals and blood and leather and dirt and friction-burned skin, chewing tobacco and stale alcohol. It was a familiar smell. Reassuring, even if it wasn’t exactly a bed of roses. There’s the occasional murmur of conversation that flows around him. He doesn’t join in. He never does. Just doesn’t have a whole lot to say.
“Morning, Logan.” Adam says. He’s an older man, tall, broad in the shoulders, with a thick beard covering his lower jaw. He usually has a smile on his face. Nice guy. Logan grunts.
“Morning.” It’s half-mumbled, but intelligent enough that Adam nods.
“Right spot of sunshine, you are.” He teases. Logan nods.
“Sure am.” He replies. Adam laughs.
“Will I see you in there?” He said, knocking his shoulder against Logan’s as he walked past. Logan shrugged and turned towards the Foreman's shack.
“So long as you have eyes, yeah.” He quips, and Adam laughs again. Logan retrieves a mining pick from the shack and takes a moment to stare at the entrance of the mine.
Time to get to work.
And work he did. Finding a spot in the mine and breaking rock over and over again. It was repetitive, monotonous work. The same motion, over and over and over. It’s easy to just shut off. Easy to just think of anything else. And he does let his mind wander. He thinks about Rose, and her upcoming marriage. He thinks about how long it’s been since he’s gone hunting, and how he should do that again. He thinks about how he might need to fix the roof at home. He thinks about-
A creaking sound. Deap and bone-shaking. What was that?
Logan stops his work and tilts his head. He doesn't move. He hardly even breathes. To his right, Jean-Luc stops, too.
“Logan?” He asks, slinging his pickaxe over his shoulder. “What are-”
“Shh.” He holds up a hand. He waits. He listens. He hears the noise again. It’s louder now. He furrowed his brow, and–
“We have to leave.” He says suddenly.
“What-?” Jean-Luc flinches back. Logan grabbed his arm.
“Move, now!” He barks. He yanks Jean-Luc after him, already putting boots to earth. “All of you! Get back!” his voice echoes off the cave walls. It's sudden and jarring enough that everyone stops. Logan growls.
“I said go!” His words are accompanied by another baritone rumble. This time, the others heard it too.
They move. Most of them run towards him, and that's good. Some run in the other direction. He doesn’t know what happens to most of them. The wet, snapping crunch tells him what happened to some of them. Poor bastards.
“Ed!” That was Adam. Edward had been his cousin. Emphasis on the ‘had been’. Adam hadn’t seemed to have figured that part out yet. He raced towards the rubble, pulse racing, eyes wild. “Ed, Edward!”
“Hey!” Logan lets Jean-Luc and dives for Adam. “Get away from there!” It’s not a struggle to move Adam back. Logan has always been stronger. (He's stronger than everyone here. That’s just what comes from living on the frontier, instead of in towns like this. He’d be loathe to call these men soft, but–)
“Ed’s under there!” Adam snaps back. “I’m not leaving him, Logan! I can’t” He tugs free and moves to the rocks again. “He’s family!”
“He’s dead!” Logan’s run out of patience. Every second they spend in this cave is another second they haven’t spent getting out. Wasted air. Wasted time. Wasted energy. And pulling at those rocks might cause another cave in.
Then, they’d all be screwed.
“You don’t know that!” Adam shouted. He was frantic. Eyes wild, pulse elevated. So different from the jovial man he usually was. He looked like an animal. Pulling at the rubble like a trapped fox gnaws at its leg. Both equally desperate, and both equally futile. Both equally doomed.
“Like hell, I don’t!” He says back. “Noone survives that! We have to move!” He turns back to Jean-Luc. “Get everyone else rounded up. I’ll handle him.”
“Uh- right.” Jean-Luc blinked and hesitated. He blinked again and the situation caught up to him. “Right!” He turned and started speaking in a fast mix of French and English - Franglais - to the rest of the surviving miners. Some of them yelled back. Some of them agreed with him readily. Some of them just stood there. The entire cavern reeked of fear and blood and uncertainty. He had to tune them out. Adam losing his mind would only make this worse.
“C’mon, Adam.” He says in a low voice. “We gotta go.” Adam is trying to pull at a rock. He strains, grunts, rolls the rock off the pile. Logan growls. One rock is fine, sure. It doesn’t do anything. It’s a fucking rock. The problem is, the cave in is made of a lot of fucking rocks. Each one works to hold up all the others. The more they were pulled at, the more likely it was that they were gonna start another collapse.
“Eddie…” Adam said quietly. “C’mon, Eddie. We gotta get to work.” Ah, shit. He was out of it. That wasn’t good. Logan sighed and rocked back on his heels, resting his elbows on his knees.
“Okay.” He says to himself. “Sorry, Adam.” He wasn't. He tears back and slaps Adam across the face. Not full-force, didn't wanna kill him, but hard enough it echoed. Adam’s head snapped back. He jerked backwards and staggered. Oh, whoops. Maybe that was too hard. Oh well.
“Good lord, Logan!” That was Peter. Logan rolls his eyes and focuses once again on Adam.
“Snap out of it.” He barked. Adam blinked, stared, blinked again, shook his head, then swung a fist of his own. He missed.
Widely.
It wasn’t his fault. It was dark, and he was hysteric, but he missed by a longshot and Logan snarled. Irritation spiked white hot in the back of his mind and it was an effort to reel it back in.
“I said, snap out of it!” He grabs Adam by the lapels and shoved him back. “You’re gonna get us all killed!”
“Like Eddie?!” Adam snapped back. Logan groaned.
“Yes, like fucking Eddie!” He said. “Ed’s gone, Adam! He’s dead! Dead as dirt! We can't do anything for him now, but the rest of us are still drawing breath! You wanna keep it that way? You come with us!” He doesn’t wait for a response. He just leaves.
“Logan!” That’s Trout- well, Michael, but Trout to the boys. “Where are you going?”
“I told you.” Logan huffs, shouldering his way past the gathered men into the darkness. “I’m getting out of here. You either come with me, or you can die here.” He got all of three steps before Trout grabbed at his arm.
“Go where?” He asked, words slurring through his missing teeth. “Deeper into the mine? You’re crazy!” Logan growled again.
“You think they're gonna dig us out?” He says without stopping, tugging his arm free. “All the way down here? We don’t know how much of the tunnel fell in. They won’t bother. Might send someone to tell the Missus if you're lucky.” He steps into the darkness and stops. He sighs.
“Listen. I can’t promise that I’ll get any of you out. But your chances with me are a hell of a lot better than if you just sit around and wait to die.”
“I’m coming with you.” Jean-Luc says. He’s got one of the other men hanging on his shoulder - probably injured in the chaos. He was still alert, though. … One of the new guys. What did they call him? Stumps? Stumpy? Something like that. He’d been a logger before he came to the mines. He squinted a lot when he looked at things. Weird person. Not bad, just weird.
“‘M comin’ too.” Stumpy rasped. “Don’t feel like rottin’ here.” There were a few more scattered murmurs of agreement. Logan didn’t wait to see who they were. They were already burning precious oil. There's a collection of footsteps behind him as he walks. Some more whispers. They echo off the walls of the mine. It’s loud. It’s annoying. Logan keeps a scowl on his face as he walks. He doesn’t have any direction at first. He’s mostly just guessing. Going where his feet take him. And then he stops again. … Something smells different. Someone bumps into his back, and he barely notices. He narrows his eyes and sniffs the air once, twice… Three times. Yeah, it’s faint, but it’s there. Wind currents - already weird enough - and, distantly, the scent of growing things. Plants.
Outside.
“What’re you-”
“This way.” Logan cuts off the chatter behind him. “Stay close.” He starts moving again.
“The hell was that?” Stumpy rasped. “What do you mean, this way?” A few more voices joined the dissent. Logan growled. They didn't have time for this. He wanted out. Out of here. Away from these people. In the fresh air. Back home with Smitty and Rose. Just anywhere but trapped in this fucking mine.
“Any of you lot hunters?” He asked, turning around. A beat of silence. “That's what I thought.”
“I don't like this.” Someone in the back muttered. Logan could smell their anxiety, and it mingled with the scent of freedom in a way that curled his lip. “Feels like we’re walking in circles.” Logan did his best to ignore them. They're not helping the situation and he's tired of yelling in here - the echoes make his head hurt.
“What do you think?” More murmurs. Logan swallowed a growl.
“Adam?” Someone - Peter, he thinks - asks. Adam doesn’t answer.
“You can find your own way if you want.” Logan snaps. “If you’re following me, we’re turning left.” And he does. He’s followed by most of the footsteps. After some hesitation and more muttering, the rest come too.
“Logan.” Jean-Luc had been quiet most of this time, and finally spoke up. “Do you really know where you're going?” Logan grunted.
“You too?” He asked. He heard Jean-Luc shake his head.
“No, no, not like that.” He protested. “It’s just… Our lantern is running very low.” Logan listened with his head cocked a second longer, then smirked. Perfect timing.
“Can I see it for a moment?” He asked, holding out his hand. Jean-Luc handed the lantern over. Logan nodded his thanks and blew the flame out. The tunnels filled with surprised shouts and loud protests that quickly fizzled out.
“See?” His features are still visible in the dim light, and he’s not hiding how smug he is. “Look up; there’s our way out.” They all look up. There’s a few beats of silence.
“The boy’s gone mad.” Trout mutters. “We’re going to die.”
“There's no way we can fit through there.” Peter agreed. “Please tell me you're joking.”
“That's not it.” Logan began, but they weren't listening.
“We’re doomed.” Stumpy slurred. “We’re dying here.”
“You’re not gonna-” Logan tries again.
“I knew it.” Logan didn’t care who that was. It didn’t matter anymore. All that mattered is they weren’t listening–  “Shoulda stayed back at the-”
“That’s enough.” It’s not Logan who says that, but it is Logan who’s so surprised he doesn’t protest. He blinks as Adam shoves forward, still haggard and with a bruise blooming dark across his jaw, but more coherent than he had been in a while. “You boys gotta hold your tongue. That attitude doesn’t help anyone.” He turns to Logan, who nods his gratitude. “What are you thinking?”
“The soil and rocks are loose here.” Logan wasn't about to waste the time he'd been given by stalling. “Probably got knocked around in whatever tremor caused the cave in. It won’t be hard to push ‘em aside and make an exit - even if it's just enough for some of the smaller ones to slip out and come back with powder. But I don't think that’ll be a problem.” Another moment of silence.
“Bad day to eat that extra lunch, Trout.” Peter muttered.
“Shut your trap, Petey.” Trout sulks.
“Sounds an awful lot like yappin’, and not a lot like digging.” Logan glared, turning back to their potential exit route.
“You heard him.” Adam says, and Jean-Luc nods.
“Let’s get out of here.”
And they did. It took over an hour of digging, manoeuvring, clambering over one another, but eventually, they all made it up onto the outer surface of the mine. They climbed and stumbled and fell, exhausted, back to better ground. And they were part way back to the town when someone ahead yelled ‘there!’, and then there were footsteps and Logan suddenly had Smitty’s hands on his shoulders as a fresh group of men from town were yelling and shouting and cursing their surprise.
“Holy God, boy,” Smitty was saying, “I thought you were dead!”
“We would’ve been.” Another hand on his shoulder and Logan looked up to exchange a weary smile with Adam. “If it weren’t for our Wolverine.”

DP/DC Imbalanced Light
AO3
PREV
Duke was one of the first back to the Batcave when the message came through that Bruce was bringing in an injured child. He was quickly joined by the rest of the family. Most injured parties were brought straight to a hospital, no matter their age, so the entire Bat clan were curious about what made this case stand out. A potential new sibling was an all hands on deck sort of event.
Cass and Steph joined next, Dick was picking up Dr. Thompkins, Tim had been coordinating the Bats from the Cave so was already there. Jason and Damian would probably join later, they had been further out when the call came in but Duke doubted even the two angriest members of the family would miss out on the excitement.
Everyone currently in the cave gathered close when the Batmobile roared into the cave. Though they easily parted to allow Alfred through to Bruce’s side. The two of them pulled a young boy out of the side seat of the Batmobile. Duke grimaced behind his helmet. The kid may be the same age as Tim, or thereabouts, but he still looked far worse for wear. There was blood coating the front of his shirt and he looked far too small, like he hadn’t been eating properly.
With a gasp the boy in Bruce’s arms was jostled awake. He tried to squirm out of his hold, but Bruce managed to keep him in hand. Eventually the boy’s wild eyes settled on the Batfam and seemed to calm. He reached a shaky, blood covered hand out to the group as Bruce carried him toward the medical room in the Batcave.
“Signal? Wait, I need to talk to Signal! Signal!” The boy desperately cried, trying once again to fight his way out of Bruce’s hold.
Duke was honestly surprised that the kid was calling for him. Signal was hardly the best known of Gotham’s heroes and he felt like most kids were either interested in talking to one of the Robins considering they were usually closest in age, or to Nightwing because Dick was friendly. However with a kid clearly in distress Signal followed as Bruce carried the kid into the medical room.
“I need to talk to Signal.” The kid was telling Bruce, trying to push Alfred’s hands away from him.
“Danny, please-”
“No! I have to talk to him! I have to talk to him alone!”
Alfred looked carefully at the kid, Danny apparently, then stepped back.
“Please make the conversation quick. You are still in need of medical care, Master Daniel.”
“It’s Danny, and fine.”
Alfred and Bruce stepped out and the glass door of the medical room closed behind them. Duke however had eyes only for the kid in front of him. Danny was obviously in pain. He kept one hand pressed tightly to his chest, and a grimace on his face. There were also several scars that ran up his neck, the worst of which was the Litchenberg figures that crept up his neck and scattered across one side of his face, even going through one of his eyes. To Duke’s Ghost Vision the scars seemed to glow and pulse, as if still remembering the electricity that had caused them.
Danny looked at him desperately, fear marring his face as he nervously glanced towards where Bruce and Alfred had stepped out before meeting his gaze again. Duke wasn’t sure what he needed, but wanted to get this conversation over with before Dick arrived with Dr. Thompkins. She didn’t appreciate being kept waiting when she had a patient.
“So, your name is Danny right?” Duke asked.
“The forums say you’re a meta.” Danny asked instead of answering. His voice came out quiet and low as if he were telling a secret. “Is that true?”
Duke put out his hand, and created a small firework display across his palm with his photokinesis. It was the same trick he did when he ran into small scared children as Signal. Just something light and silly to break the tension and it did seem to bring Danny’s focus off his injuries.
“Yes, I’m a meta.”
“Everyone knows Batman hates metas.” Danny said, glancing nervously at the door again, his voice dropping further into a whisper. “Does he hate you? Are you forced to help him? Does he… do experiments on you?”
Duke let his hand drop out of sight of Danny as he lay on the bed in the med bay. He clenched his hand into a tight fist. Dammit Bruce. You and your stupid rules. He could see that Danny was clearly just about out of his mind with fear and just as obviously had some bad experiences that were weighing on him. Duke needed to calm him down enough for Alfred and Leslie to take of him and quickly. He took a deep breath and kept his voice soft as he started speaking.
“Batman doesn’t hate metas. He doesn’t like other heroes like Superman coming into Gotham when they don’t know how this city works. Many of our rogues are simply humans with mental illness. Even most of the goons are just poor people who are desperate for work. They don’t need some super powered demi-god smacking them down. And he’s eased up on that a lot recently.” Duke took a moment to gather his thoughts. He could hear Dick’s car driving into the cave and knew that Leslie Thompkins had arrived. “Batman has been nothing but kind to me since my parents died. He’s trained me to help protect the city I grew up in. He may not be perfect, but he won’t hurt you, and I won’t let him if he tries.”
Danny nodded a few times, his eyes downcast, as if trying to convince himself of something before he finally looked back up at Duke.
“I’m- I’m sort of like you.” Danny whispered. “I’m like a meta.”
The words seemed like they were physically painful for Danny to say, and considering how tightly most metas held onto the secret of their powers that wasn’t too surprising. Duke didn’t have the time to puzzle out what exactly “like a meta” meant as opposed to just being a meta, but he knew at least he could provide Danny with some comfort.
“Well, Danny, one meta to another, I promise you Batman won’t hurt you because of your power. While you’re here you’re safe.” Duke looked up as a knock sounded at the door to the med bay. He could see Leslie and Alfred standing on the other side of the glass door. “Agent A has helped me a lot when I’ve been injured and Dr. T has cared for a lot of people, including metas that have come through her clinic. You’ll be safe with them. May I let them in?”
Danny took just a moment longer to think about it before he nodded.
“Will you stay with me?” His words sounded so pained and scared that Duke couldn't help but agree immediately.
He opened the door for Alfred and Leslie, then turned his back to remove his helmet and apply a paper surgical mask. He scrubbed his hands just as the other two did before rejoining Danny at the bedside. Once the door was closed and the older two were getting ready, Duke addressed Danny.
“Is there anything about your physiology that would be different from a non meta?” He said the words loud enough to clue in the other two. Danny nodded and gripped the rails on the patient bed tightly in fear.
“My core temperature, heart rate and respiration rate are lower than a standard human’s.” He recited the words like he had rehearsed them many times. “My blood is considered a hazard and needs to be destroyed, preferably by incineration.”
“Is your blood radioactive?” Thompkins asked, her experience helping other metas would be invaluable with helping Danny.
“Radioactive?” Danny seemed confused by the question for a moment before shaking his head. “No, it’s uh, corrosive I think? Jazz didn't mention radioactivity when she gave me the script to memorize.”
Leslie carefully cut Danny free of his blood soaked hoodie and shirt. Duke again had to clench his hand into a fist at the sight of a Y shaped incision that spanned Danny’s entire torso. Like an autopsy. Or vivisection. The cut had been messily stitched and stapled closed, but Danny had clearly popped a few stitches when he panicked after seeing Bruce. Surrounding the largest injury were numerous scars. Small burns, stab wounds, the Litchenberg figures continued across his torso and several precise cuts that could only be the result of deliberate torture or experimentation.
Alfred raised his eyebrow, but didn’t comment as the two of them set to work examining the injuries. Leslie’s lips pressed into a thin line and she also kept her comments to herself. Danny seemed grateful for their reticence. Duke knew he had seen a lot of the worst of the worst during his time as a vigilante in Gotham, but this still pushed it to another level. Danny was as scarred as any of the Robins except for Jason.
The two healers worked quickly cleaning and dressing each of the wounds, though the largest still needed more work. The lights over head flickered with each deep breath Danny took as they cared for his injuries. Duke used his powers to keep the lights steady for their work.
“Master Danny, we will need to remove the old stitching and staples to properly close and stitch your largest injury.” Alfred said. “We can apply an IV to let you sleep through the procedure.”
Danny was already shaking his head.
“Doesn’t work on me.” He hissed out past his gritted teeth.
“We have meta-strength-”
“Doesn’t work on me.” Danny shook his head again. “Even the strongest painkillers and anesthetics burn off almost immediately.”
“You have an enhanced metabolism?” Leslie asked.
Danny shrugged, then pressed his head back against the pillow. “I was awake when mom did this to me, I can handle you fixing it awake too.”
He refused to look at anyone else in the room even as looks of fury and rage crossed each of their faces. He reached out blindly and Duke took his hand to hold. Leslie and Alfred grimaced but nodded. If they didn’t want Danny to bleed out they needed to fix the slap-dash stitches and staples.
Danny didn’t scream while they worked and while he gripped Duke’s hand tightly, he clearly wasn’t using even a portion of his full strength. The metal of the bed frame squeaked and whined in protest as he gripped it hard enough to leave a handprint in the metal.
Whatever Danny’s ability was combined with his own Ghost vision to create disturbing images flash around Danny’s body, like an after image on a dark night. Neither Alfred nor Leslie reacted, so it was clear Duke was the only person who could see them. Each lingered in his eyes for a moment before fading to nothingness before being replaced by the next.
He saw two people, one a woman and the other man with a build similar to Bruce’s leaning over Danny’s body, blades in their hands and macabre smiles etched into their faces. He saw a flaming crown burning in the air over Danny’s head. He saw two teens Danny’s age and someone only slightly older trying to lift and carry Danny while obviously fighting with someone.
Frozen fractals appeared in the afterimages, growing with each after image into twisting and writhing tentacles. This was the most painful part of the operation as the two healers worked to pull out a staple that had gone through his skin into his sternum. Danny arched his back, his breathing coming in slow pants. When he opened his eyes they glowed like Jason’s did. Danny’s ears grew pointed and where he was biting his lip to keep from screaming his fangs grew long and pointed. Finally Danny couldn’t take any more and blacked out fully, his eyes rolling back into his head.
For a short time the afterimages still burned their way into Duke’s vision. The fractal tentacles continued to writhe before fading. A man appeared before Duke, looking down at Danny’s body in distress. He was wearing a long, hooded cloak. In the next flash he was suddenly an old man, looking beaten and worn by the passage of time. Then he was suddenly a young child, younger even than Damian, staring down at Danny with that same distress clear on his face. Finally the man returned to his original age and looked up to meet Duke’s eyes. His head tilted to the side in curiosity before he glanced down at a pocket watch that was hanging from his cloak and gave it a firm nod and disappeared.
The last of the flickering images slowly vanished as well, Alfred and Leslie still not noticing them at all, as the two of them finished their work and settled a blanket over Danny’s heavily bandaged torso. Duke patted Danny’s limp hand with his own before he left the med bay. The rest of the Bat fam were gathered around, but Duke made his way straight to Bruce. As he went Cass came and put a supportive hand on his shoulder. He wondered idly what his body language was telling her that had her reaching out at this moment.
“You need to do some serious PR work on Batman’s views of metas.” Duke said shortly to Bruce. He didn’t really care what his mentor’s motivations were, they needed to change and they needed to let the public know.
“The kid’s a meta?” Jason asked, leaning forward.
Duke nodded, still not taking his eyes off Bruce.
“I don’t know what he thought you would do to him, either run him off or cut him open.” Duke hesitated as he examined the momentary grief that appeared in Bruce’s eyes. “Again. Cut him open again. Someone vivisected him.”
A sharp noise sounded as something snapped in Jason’s hands. Red Hood had green light blazing in his eyes as Dick immediately moved to grab his shoulder, whether to comfort him or to hold him back, Duke didn’t know. Bruce leaned forward, his face once again stoic.
“What are your thoughts on his abilities?” He asked.
If Duke wasn't so suddenly exhausted he would either roll his eyes or join Jason in trying to tear Bruce a new one. Of course when he’s distressed he falls back on old, bad habits. Examining threats and planning counter plans.
“Alfred and Leslie know enough about him to care for him for now. You can ask about the rest of his powers once he’s up and about.” Duke said. He wasn’t going to reveal Danny’s clearly hard fought secrets. “The one thing I will say is that while we can expect him to be fragile, we cannot treat him with kid gloves. Danny’s got more scars than anyone I’ve ever seen who isn’t a bat. He’s clearly a fighter and deserves to be treated like one.”
Duke turned away. He needed to be done. He needed to just shut his brain off for a little.
“I’m taking the next couple of days off patrol. Can someone cover for me?”
He was half afraid that someone would accuse him of trying to cheat his way into the spot of best brother for their new potential sibling. Instead Stephanie and Dick immediately volunteered to help cover some of the daylight patrols.
Duke walked away, calling the shadows of the cave to him. With a family half raised or trained by ninjas they were all used to using the shadows and darkness to their advantage. But none of them could command the shadows and make the darkness answer their call like Duke could. The darkness of the cave swallowed him, hiding him completely from sight as he searched for some place to sit and think about everything he had just seen. Everything that Danny must have gone through.

Evil Roommate
Tumblr media
pairing: leeknow x afab!reader, roommates enemies to lovers
warnings: softdom!lino, cheating (mentioned), making out, grinding, oral (f receiving), fingering penetration, cum play (?), praise
requested : yes!
word count 6.2k
summary: the new roommate was a handful. lazy, disrespectful, arrogant, and a whole bunch of other negative things. but wow, you were sexually frustrated and he, well, attractive, was an understatement.
“Can you actually like, wash your kitchen utensils when you're done using them?”
The amount of huffing and puffing you have heard from your new roommate in the past two weeks was ridiculous. If you had a dollar for every time he had gone against anything you had politely asked for, you would be rich by now, and definitely stable enough to move out and away from him.
“I will,” he mumbled, mouth stuffed with half of the carrot he was chewing on, very loudly, “can I not enjoy my food first?”
“No,” you replied without hesitation, giving the fakest of smiles in return, “you should do it before you eat.”
Another eye roll from Minho was like water off a duck’s back.
“I'd also appreciate it if you didn’t talk to me with your mouth full of food either.”
“What the fuck is your problem?”
You coughed, turning on your hills to face a very unimpressed roommate. His stare was eye shattering. Yes, he was very, no, extremely good looking. However, every single thing that made up his personality could not be more different to you. Sloppy, messy, lazy. Took no responsibility for any of his actions, especially the high pitch noises (that obviously were not his) you would hear from his room in the early hours of the morning. You would pinch your pillow together, praying extremely hard that the noise would stop, and by the time it did, you would get maybe 2, 3 hours of sleep. College was becoming tiring, not only from staying up to complete assessments, but the lewd noises you could hear from at least 2 people in his room. Your blunt attitude towards Minho’s unhygienic and disrespectful habits were definitely justified.
“What are you talking about?”
“Why do you nitpick everything I do?”
Your jaw dropped, completely dumbfounded.
“Me? Nitpicking you? Please,” you scoffed, “you don't clean up after yourself ever, you leave your dirty clothes everywhere, and don't even get me started on the fact that I barely get any sleep because of your wild sex adventures with other people that occur almost every weeknight, when you know I have to wake up early to go to class next day.”
A combination of frustration and exhaustion could be heard through the harshness of each breath. The smirk that appeared on his face was absolutely punch worthy. What on earth was there to be so cocky of?
“My wild sex adventures,” he paused taking a bite of the dreaded carrot, “please, tell me more about my wild sex adventures.”
His tongue was now obviously pressed against his cheek, a devil coated smile still very apparent on his face. The longer he was looking at you like that, the hotter your cheeks became. Pure anger began to course through you; all he had to do was sit there and look pretty. It was definitely enough for you to get the green light to slap him across the face.
“Shut the fuck up,” you hissed, “I don’t need to explain how I can hear them moaning your name every night, or the banging I hear from wall to-”
“Hmm,” he hummed, “you seem to be listening very well.”
Distracted by your anger for a brief moment, you gasped suddenly, feeling Minho’s fingertips at your sides. You turned around, swatting his hands away, giving him that slap that you felt you had earned across the face.
“Who the fuck said you could touch me?
“Did you just fucking slap me?”
“Yes I fucking did,” you spat, “what do you take me for?”
“You know what you’re right, but you walk around here with a stick up your ass. I hear you on the phone to your friends, complaining about how you don't get any action from anyone.”
You stood there in disbelief. “So you’ve been eavesdropping on my convos as well?”
“Well it’s kind of hard not to hear, you know, the walls in this house are kind of thin.”
Your jaw clenched, his eyebrows furrowed, the conversation was at a stand still.
“Can you get to the point please?”
“I sure can sweetheart,” the name sending a shiver down your spine, “if you're that sexually frustrated, go and do something about it instead of taking it out on me?”
A laugh that you didn't even know you were capable of bellowed from your chest. You stumbled back, grabbing onto stool behind the bench for support.
“Me? Sexually frustrated? Please,” you huffed, “I’m not sexually frustrated, and it definitely has nothing to do with you.”
Another scoff escaped your lips as you shuffled back to your room. Closing the door behind you, a heavy sigh came from your chest as you sat on the edge of your bed. How on earth was he able to read you like that? So well and so accurate? It was all you could think about, not to mention the fact that it was also night time simultaneously.
You let your body fall onto your bed sheets. The feeling of restlessness was consuming your body. As you crawled into bed, you looked straight into the ceiling. Why were you thinking about his words so much? Were you really taking it out on him? You shook your head, mentally slapping yourself for even considering the thought.
Minho was a lazy slob who was extremely inconsiderate of others, especially you. But why was the thought of his fingers on your sides becoming the main source of agitation.? The silence of your thoughts was deafening, but they were easily interrupted as soon as you heard the door open, a high pitched voice followed what felt like the most ludicrous creek you had ever heard. ‘I should really put some oil on the door huh?’ You paused for a couple of seconds, this time physically face palming yourself for the dumb excuse you had made to see who he had decided to bring over to accompany him tonight. Legs completely ignoring your brain, you were out of bed, hand twisting the knob and peeking a look at the poor girl that would be subjected to Minho’s torture tonight. Tip toeing out of the doorway, you kept the weight of a feather on your toes, making yourself as invisible as possible.
“Y/n?”
Your pink panther stance of attempted deception looked utterly ridiculous and not sly at all was extremely confusing to the two. You quickly relaxed into a normal stance, the fakest of smiles coming across your face as you see who it is he brought home to have his way with.
“Chaeyeon… heyyy,” you lingered, “I didn’t know you were coming over.”
You would have been happy with literally anyone else. But Chaeyeon? Chaeyeon? It’s like she was your number one arch rival. Minho knew how much you hated her, yet he still let her come over. Everything about her you could not stand, not to mention the fact that she home wrecked your last serious relationship. Even though it was a while ago, you can forgive but not forget, her face being a constant reminder of your hurtful past.
“Oh hey Y/N,” she almost signed, her amount of excitement to see you matching yours, “I didn’t know you lived here.”
The arm he had around her waist made you sick.
“There’s a lot of things you don't know about me,” you mumbled, foot swaying back and forth, eyes focused on said foot.
“Okay, so you guys have had a little reunion,” Minho interrupted. Anything would have been better to break the awkward silence than his sarcastic comments, “we’re gonna go to my room now.”
“NO!” you interjected, covering the hallway with every bit of your being, “I mean, what’s the rush huh? Changbin is coming over as well.”
You paused, Minho’s face clearly cussing you out if yelling was inappropriate at this current moment.
“Uh no thanks Y/N-”
“We should all hang out!”
The excitement coming from your voice was so inauthentic, it was hard to miss.
“Yeah! Let’s all hang out,” you walked behind them, placing a hand on each of their backs and you hurried them to the couch, “I’ll get some beers in the fridge.”
“I actually only drink vodka,” Chaeyeon yawns, obnoxiously twirling her hair, her other hand aggravatingly high on his thigh.
“Oh that’s totally fine,” you gritted through tightly clenched teeth, “we have a bottle in the fridge, I’ll grab that for you as well.”
You scuffled back over to the fridge, mentally cursing yourself as you grabbed the necessary beverages. The confusion you were giving yourself about why you were putting in so much effort to spend time with the two people you literally hated more than anything was mind baffling
“So,” you began again, passing a Corona to Minho, a glass to Chaeyeon, “how have you been finding your course so far?”
You sat the Smirnoff and Orange juice on the table. Yes, you were being nice, but not nice enough to pour the drink for this bitch.
“Oh it was so great,” she smiled, “Jisung and I were living together, it was, well, a dream really.”
The feeling of your nails became prominent in your fists as your fingers caved in. The mention of his name was enough to make you see red, let alone the idea of them being happily together. The itch of your eye begging to roll was becoming too prominent, so much that you had to get up and walk away for a second. You stood up abruptly, confusion etched into Minho’s features. You didn’t want to make this a big deal, but the fact that she continued to gloat about it, long after you stopped listening was enough to reach your breaking point.
“I think I heard my phone ringing from my room, it must be Changbin.”
“I don't think I hear anything,” Minho smirked, plastering his lips on the edge of the bottle. The way his lips wrapped around the tip of the warm glass was something you ‘accidentally’ became fixated on. You puffed your cheeks, storming to your room and somewhat aggressively shutting the door behind you. Scrambling for your phone on the bedside table, you panicked, unclear mind as you scrolled through your phone contacts. You paused, an inducing amount of oxygen filling up your lungs. It did little to calm the irritated tingling sensation in your fingers.
Changbin’s name had finally popped up on your phone after what had felt like a lifetime.
“Hello?”
His voice was husky, guilt panging your chest as you realsied you had probably woken him up from his not very often deep slumber.
“Changbin,” you gasped, “you know how much I love you right?”
“What do you need me to do?”
You snickered at his words. He had been your friend for too long to know that those words would never be said unless you needed something.
“Can you come over,” you pleaded, “Chaeyeon is here with Minho because he invited her over late at night, and I told them you were coming over?”
“Jesus Y/n,” Changbin sighed, a playful chuckle tickling your cheek, “so you want me to come over and make Minho jealous?”
“Wait no wtf,” you jumbled, “make Minho jealous? I just want you to flirt with me and Chaeyeon so she leaves.”
“Mhm yeah,” he chuckled once more, voice laced with sarcasm as he spoke, “I’ll come over, but if you don't sleep with him by the end of the night, I’m gonna be extremely disappointed.”
“Yeah okay whatever just get your ass over here now.”
And with that you abruptly ended the phone call, Changbin giving you no peace of mind. Were you this easy to read by everybody? A frustrated sigh exploded from your chest. The games your head and your heart were playing with were helping you come to no resolution. You sat on your bed, thoughts were running crazy. Now would be a really great time to just put on Netflix and curl into bed, have some snacks and fall asleep, chip trail on ur chest to be found in the morning.
You were interrupted by the very loud knock on the door. Sprinting like your life depended on it, you were relieved. Seeing Changbin’s face had never before given you so much joy.
“Changbin,” you shouted, wrapping your arms around him in a tight embrace.
“Y/n what are you doing-”
“Shut up and go along with it,” you mumbled into his chest, letting up, but still keeping your body tightly wounded against his. Minho’s jaw became clenched, or were you just imagining things?
Regardless of what it was, your brain quickly shifted to the way Chaeyeon was eyeing Changbin up and down, almost like it was the first time she had ever seen an attractive male. ‘She definitely wasn’t looking at Minho like that when he walked in’ you thought, an unconscious smirk coming to mouth. You bit down on your bottom lip, an extremely poor attempt at masking the satisfaction of your goal being achieved so easily. One step closer to kicking her out, for good, because there was no way you weren’t talking to Minho after this about making an explicit declaration of her abandonment from this house.
“Minho,” he smiled, earning a nod, “Chaeyeon,” he smirked, an almost gag spilling out of your mouth.
“Changbin,” she followed, repeating his smirk, “long time no see.”
She gulped, engulfing a large sip of alcohol into her wicked mouth.
“Let’s play a game!”
“A game,” you questioned, raising an eyebrow, “why would we play-”
“I think that’s a great idea!”
You turned to look at him, a puzzled expression still very apparent on your facial features.
“Get the vodka out from the fridge, and let’s get started.”
***
Two bottles of vodka down, and what looked like 8 bottles of Corona sitting empty on the table, the games that were being played were becoming more difficult to comprehend. Sound of giggle and laughter constantly filled the room as everyone slowly began to lose their minds to the intoxication.
“O-okay, never have I e-ever, done a sexual act in public.”
Filters of chuckles and laughter filled the room as everyone, but you took a sip.
“What?” she asked, offering you her fake sympathy, “you’ve never done anything like that before?”
“I-I mean,” you stuttered, the look of confusion was evident, “I don’t think I have-”
“Yes you have.”
All eyes were snapped open and pressing into Minho’s skull as he began to converse.
“Pfft, no I have not,” you scoffed, taking another swig. An eye roll left came from Minho, followed by a sound of what seemed to be disgust as he shot gunned his current bottle.
“Yes you have,” he nagged, playfully hitting your shoulder, “I saw you.”
Complete silence fell over the room as he words lingered in the air. You genuinely had no idea what he was talking about. The feeling of the room had suddenly changed. His eyes became soft, fixated on nothing but the way your body slumped against the rough material of the couch.
Your mind began to drift. Thoughts floating into earlier scenes of the night. The closeness of his breath fanning your neck ever so softly, palms spread across your hips. The idea of marks on you swimming into your head. God that would feel so good. Letting him grab you and throw you onto his bed. Climbing up your frame, starting from the bottom of your legs, keeping a tight grip on your inner thighs. The feeling of faint lips stealing every inch of your being, tantalisingly hitting every, single, spot, finally reaching your-
“Y/N? Y/N!”
The feeling of Changbin's shaking your shoulders definitely brought you back to reality. His hands did feel nice, but they weren’t the ones you were longing for. Your head was thrown back, disbelief filling you as your mind continued to fill the gutter.
“When?”
As you moved closer, you giggled, placing your finger tip across his knee. You let them dance, index fingers tapping away at the skin you so desperately wanted to see in this moment.
“Mr. Lee Minho, when did you see me?”
“I’m not saying it here in front of-”
“Who? Chaeyeon?”
Your prowling continued, bodies even closer as you slowly began to climb him like an inanimate object. This would have been completely awkward sober. Nothing about this was romantic in the slightest. To an outsider, or Changbin and Chaeyeon, you were right there, situated across Minho’s lap. It wasn’t quite a straddle, it was just something. They both stayed quiet, paying little attention to your animalistic act, already focused on feeling each other up. Or so you assumed, seeing as they didn’t say anything. All that was heard was the sound of the front door. You snapped your head for a quick moment, eyes scanning the emptiness the room suddenly felt.
“It was in the car.”
Minho’s words felt heavy, like he had more to say.
“The car?”
You were taken aback, face moving away from the closeness of his. Part of your brain clicked, remembering exactly what he was talking about. With Jisung. The memory of hurt was quickly forgotten as the feeling of Minho’s palms spread across your body was bringing you to life. The adrenaline came all at once. Your mind was telling you to move away, but your body was saying something else, affirming it’s position.
Minho was leaning in, barely any spaces between the two as his fingertips began to spread lower and lower, firmly gripping either side of your ass as he moved you closer. A helpless whimper escaped your lips as you felt your legs tighten, heat running down to your core, quickly. What the fuck was happening right now?
“You were on top of him,” he whispered, pulling your hips against him once more, “just like this.”
“F-fuck,” was all that managed to slip out of your lips. This was becoming difficult. So difficult to say no and move away. You knew it was the right thing to do. Things would just be awkward and you could go back to hating him. No matter how much you tried, how much you wanted to, you were powerless. Every fiber of your being was being given up to him. You leaned in closer, foreheads now touching as you looked at him. His gaze was anything but lacklustre as his jaw became tense. His body began to ache simultaneously with yours. The pressure was becoming too much.
“Do you want this?”
“What?”
A small whine escaped you at the loss of his tips gripping your body. They quickly made their way to either side of your face. Your body began to rock back and forth on it’s own. You had become desperate for any sort of friction that you could create.
“I said, do you want this?”
“Do you?”
His expression made you nervous. It was hard to read. All you could see was the black substance of his pupils enlarge, increasing in diameter by the second. Almost like a supernatural being was possessing him.
“Fuck,” you grunted, wrapping your hands around his neck to steady yourself on top of him, “you’re making it hard to say no.”
Things were already becoming hazy the longer you stayed. A huff of frustration came from him as he was giving all his effort not to give into the way you were rubbing your dampening heat against him. It was like a drug he could not refuse.
“Kiss me if you want me.”
He huffed, the edge of his lips just barely brushing against the tip of your nose.
“Kiss me, and give me the green light.”
You waited a moment, any part of your brain that wasn't concentrated solely on his palms digging into your sides trying to reason. You looked at him once more. His eyes, nose, lips. His lips.
“Fuck it.”
He was quick to work, pushing you down to lie flat against the couch. A small kiss to your lips was felt as he pulled away, lifting his arms up and throwing his shirt to the floor at Usain Bolt pace. The smirk on your face was too easy for him not to see.
“You like what you fucking see don’t you?”
“Just shut the fuck up and kiss me.”
Of course. Of course he was still that arrogant cocky motherfucker that you could not stand. The one who never cleaned up after himself. Or took too long in the shower for the hot water to run out. All of these evil perceptions you had of your roommate were disappearing as his lips were gently placed onto yours. It was a little too slow for your liking, but it was deep. Boy, was it deep. Each movement of his tongue was made with so much precision as he lowered himself onto you. His thighs were clenched, a soft groan could be heard against his lips as his groin pressed into you. Holy fuck, were you really doing this? It was so wrong. Everything in the world was saying to stop, stop this.
“Mm- wait,” you paused your hands on his chest to push him away, “wait.”
A flash of panic waved over his eyes as he quickly jumped off of you, face palming the floor.
“What’s wrong? Did I do something wrong? Did I hurt you? Are you-”
“I’m fine,” you interjected, giggling at the never been seen care and caution he had for you, “I just don’t think we should do this.”
“Oh,” was all he could say. You kept your gaze lowered; looking at him would have made you feel so guilty. The feeling of regret started to seep into your bones, but you couldn't tell: was it regret of this ever happening, or was it regret from stopping? Your head was too muddled to even attempt to comprehend what had just appended. The only sound that could be heard was your scuffed footsteps, quickly pacing back to your room and shutting the door, hard. The loudest sigh known to earth could be heard on the opposite side of the room as you let your body collapse. The ache between your legs was growing by the second; and as much as you tried to suppress the feeling of Minho’s lips on yours, fingertips dragging along your sides. No. It was much easier this way. Setting boundaries as roommates seemed to be a better idea for the long run.
But the long run was boring. You would both have to pretend that this never happened. Having other people over for sexual purposes would just be awkward now; the more you thought about it, the realisation, and the jealousy hit that you had already crossed said boundary. And maybe that’s why your feet had dragged you to the front of his bedroom door. How the fuck did you get here? You brought your knuckles to the wooden frame, door becoming slightly ajar as you gently knocked. Minho’s snapped his head around, covering himself quickly as you walked in. You cocked your eyebrow, a face of confusion apparent on your face.
“What are you doing?”
“Nothing,” he huffed, turning back to his previous position, “what do you want?”
You wanted to just walk out. Mind your business and just leave. But it was hard, quite literally. The imprint of what you assumed to be Minho’s naked lower half painfully pressing into the sheer sheets that was covering him. He paid you no more attention, giving you all the power to initiate whatever it is you wanted to initiate. You slowly crept in beside him, nuzzling your head into the back of his neck as he groaned in annoyance.
“Y/n, what the fuck are you doing in my bed?”
“Hmm, I think I changed my mind,” you whispered, reaching around to grab him. A blunt hiss escaped Minho’s lips as your action made him turn around. He was so close to you now. So close that you could feel his breath spreading across your left cheek.
“Are you being serious right now?”
The look on his face was unimpressed to say the least.
“Yeah, I mean,” your voice was calm as your hand began to take flight, sliding down to the base of his shaft, “we’ve already crossed the line, let’s go a little further.”
“Oh yeah?” His voice was dripping with sarcasm. He grabbed you by the wrist that was currently on him, pulling it away and climbing on top of you. Both hands now leaving his side, securely attached onto both wrists as he pinned them down above your head. Nose clumsily tickling yours as he reattached his lips to yours. The feeling of his lips was much softer and calmer than before, almost like he was protecting you. Wanting to keep the moment so delicate, though the way his bare hips involuntarily grinding against your clothed core was far from it. A soft whimper came from your lips, vibrating against his. A soft chuckle was heard from Minho as he pulled away; it made you nervous. To be more specific, the way that arrogant, mischievous smirk that you knew all too well was spread across his face.
“You’re so responsive to me,” he growled, quickly planting another one on your lips before sliding down to your jaw, then your neck, stopping at your chest. Nothing needed to be said as you quickly discarded your shirt, silently thanking your past self for not wearing any underneath. Minho situated himself in front of your now bare chest, waist sitting against your heart as he took one nipple into his mouth, fingers enclosing around the other. A loud whine left your lips, back arching in reaction to him. He looked up, satisfied filling his body as you weren’t able to return his gaze, head already rolled all the way back as he continued his playful assault.
“It’s so cute,” he mumbled between kisses, “so responsive and I’ve barely done anything.”
His lips travelled down the center of your stomach, dipping dangerously closer to where you wanted him most. His continuous rhythm between kisses was immaculate. Any of the incoherent sounds you made, or the crude remarks he made were left unsaid.
“Fuck,” you hissed, painfully throbbing at the way Minho played with the waistband of your panties.
“Not fun to be teased y/n,’ he paused, making sure you were looking at him, “is it.”
A pang of guilt hit your chest for a moment. I mean, it’s not like you did it on purpose, right?
“Minho I’m-”
“Save it,” he scoffs, “whether you did it on purpose, or not, I’m not gonna let you have it so easily.”
His fingers stopped their performance across your hips, continuing a little lower than before. The smirk came to his lips once more, index finger running down your slit. The friction was fierce, but not fierce enough. You wanted, no, you needed more. All he could do was smile at your mercy.
“So fun to tease darling, but you’re gonna have to be more vocal if you want these panties off.”
“Minho please,” you whined, “for fucks sake.”
You bucked your hips forward, desperate for any more contact from the bare minimum he was giving you.
“That doesn’t sound very nice to me.”
“Minho please, please, please,” you whispered, voice becoming super weak, “fuck me, or finger me, anything please, I need to feel you.”
“Now that’s more like it,” he smiled, finally pulling your panties down. You have never lifted your hips faster in your life. The vulnerability of your naked body was somewhat confronting, but your brain was so fogged out from the immense teasing, you cared little.
“Fuck,” he gasped, spreading you effortlessly with two fingers, “you’re so wet for me, aren't you?”
The heat in your cheeks rose as you became embarrassed at his words. Minho didn’t know this, but feeling humiliated was something that could make you cum on the spot. Words intended for insult went through your ears and straight down to the core, the heat becoming like an intense fire igniting in your body as one of his hands moved along your inner thigh, the other gently beginning to circle around where you needed him most.
“Oh my god,” you gasped, “oh my god Minho please, more.” Your voice was becoming needier by the second, but the longer it went on, the less you seemed to care. His tongue was now a factor coming into play, small kitty licks lapping your clit at a suddenly fast pace. Your legs are already trembling, but Minho does more to appease, hooking his arms under and around your thighs to stop the flustered look on your face. It was confronting how quickly he was getting you to your high.
“Please,” you sighed, eyes hazed as you attempted to look down at the way his tongue was on you. The combination of him sucking on your clit, then pushing it through your entrance almost made you scream. However, the noises that came from your mouth were small, heavy pants, progressively getting louder and louder the tighter the knot in your stomach became.
“Do you wanna cum princess?” His voice was whiny, mocking the tone you had used earlier. You nodded ferociously, knowing any attempt to speak would come out horse or just broken.
“Such a good girl,” he purred, replacing his tongue with two fingers, “but if you want to cum, you’re gonna have to beg for it once more.”
“You’re such a fucking dick,” you groaned, an attempt of grinding your center onto Minho’s fingers failing miserably, “you’re being so unfair.”
“I’m unfair?” he scoffed, beginning his digits back to a bare minimum pace, “you’re the one
who was teasing me all night. I know Changbin is like, your best friend so there was no chance you were bringing him back to fuck him. Then you start to kiss me, hard and fast may I add, AND THEN ! you aren’t sure and you leave me to pretend like nothing happened.”
There was no witty comeback you could say in response because he was right. You were the one who has done the teasing for most of the night.
“You looked so fucked out right now baby,” his tone coming back to a calming medium, “begging for me to make you cum, which I can do right now,” he paused, climbing back to your side, lifting your left leg to continue his easy access to ur clit, “or you can beg even more to have my cock inside of you. The choice is yours.” You swallowed, hard. How could he say something so filthy? Out of all the times you had heard him bring other girls over, he would never talk like this. It was always so nice and calm, full of praise and compassion. Maybe they didn’t act like cock teases and let him just have what he wanted.
“C-cock,” you mumbled, pushing your backside against his now pulsating cock, “please give your cock sir.”
“Ooo sir, I like that one, but you’re gonna have to do more if you want me to fill you up princess.”
Words were becoming extremely hard to not only facilitate in your mind, but put them on your tongue and get out to him. He knew this. He knew your were on the brink of collapsing in cum, but the torture was too entertaining for him nonetheless. Although you're frustrated with him was increasing, you couldn’t lie to yourself that the way he was using you like a sex toy was turning you on. After being up his ass so long with rules around the house and how you wanted things done, it was nice to finally let go. Submit to his rules instead of yours.
“P-please Minho, sir’ you panted, head turning to look at the sadistic face of enjoyment he was having from this, “I’ll do anything, a-anything to have your cock inside of me right now.”
“Anything?”
“Anything.”
“Okay then tomorrow morning, you have to make me breakfast, AND wash my dishes.”
“Seriously,” you panted, “that’s what you're thinking about right now?”
“You said anything.” He shrugged, suddenly taking his fingers away from your dripping core. A gasp of disappointment came to your lips at the loss of delicious contact. Minho sat up, ducking under your leg, and positioning himself right back to where he was previously. However, this time, he was on his knees. Although you were touching it before, you really hadn't had a chance to look at how big it was: way more than what you expected. He stroked himself a couple of times, making sure not to get carried away with himself before he pushed it between your folds, letting his pre-cum mix with your juices. He slowly descended into you. Jaws dropping simultaneously, you gasped. The way he was stretching you out did burn a little bit, but once he was fully inside, your eyes rolled to the back of your head. Minho waited until the look of slight discomfort faded from your features.
“Are you okay?”
You nodded, biting down on your bottom lip and he slowly pulled himself back out. He kept a consistent, yet slow pace as leaned in closer to you. He was now hovering over, letting his face become buried into the middle of your breasts. The feeling was so immaculate, you were desperate to cling onto something for support.
“Dig them into me,” he groaned, strangling his vocal cords, “dig your nails into my back and scratch me like your life fucking depends on it.”
Perfect. You did as he pleased, a loud moan of his name wrestling from your lips as you felt the red marks appear on his backside. The pressure from before was already building in your stomach again, and he could tell. The way you were super tight for him was one, but the way you were now clenching around him was another. He knew he wouldn’t last much longer if you kept doing that.
“Fuck,” was all you could manage to say, a deep grin plastered on his face.
“You’re close aren't you,” he cooed, attaching his lips to your neck, “talk to me baby, tell me what you're feeling.
“Mhm, yeah, fuck I’m so close baby. H-Harder.”
The pitch of your tone was becoming whinier by the second. To add to that, the way you became confused, as if Minho was a vampire, because the way he was sucking on your neck was kind of painful. Nevertheless, you relished in it, knowing too well that a very, very dark mark would replace his mouth. The idea of him showing his possession of you, knowing that he finally won you over did not make you happy, nonetheless, you were too fucked out to care.
Your legs were now pushed all the way back, pace fastening by the minute, allowing Minho to push even deeper into you. And that was it. Right there, the spot you had never even known was even there.
“Ah fuck!” Your moan was loud this time, completely unable to control anything. The smirk, in combination with the satisfied growl that left his lips was a face of pure ecstasy as he realised that he had finally hit your G-spot.
“Fuck that feels so fucking good,” Minho grumbled, “are you close? Because I think I’m gonna cum.”
It was like your stomach was an orchestra. Minho’s words were the conductor, completely controlling how close you were to your release.
“Y-yes,” you cried, “I’m gonna cum so hard right now.”
“You wanna cum baby?”
“Yeah.”
“You wanna cum right now?”
“Yes baby,” you pouted, a perplexity of sounds escaping your lips, completely out of your control.
“Cum on my cock princess,” Minho whispered through what sounded to be like pained groans, “be a good girl and cum with me inside of you.”
And there it was, like it was on queue as your body completely flopped, legs shaking and a string of lewd curse words fell from your lips. The way your pussy clenched around him was enough to make him pull out, spilling into the dip of your stomach. A loud breath of what seemed to be exhaustion fell from his lips. Your eyes were previously screwed so shut, it hurt when you opened them again, sensitive to the light.
“Fuck,” you both cursed simultaneously, making one another giggle. Minho fell to your left side, flat on his back as he invited you to scooch over next to him. Face pressed against his chest, fingers playfully dragging up and down his torso. For some reason, he felt so safe and secure at this moment. Almost forgetting how he literally just fucked you into oblivion, your eyelids become heavy. It wasn’t until Minho spoke that you were revived from your alternate state of consciousness once more.
“I didn’t know you had it in you.” His voice sounded genuinely surprised, unsure if you should be offended or not. You looked up at him, quickly pressing a kiss to his cheek. He wasn’t sure how to react, but the dark shade tinting his face right now said enough.
“Please,” you scoffed, “You did me good, but was that the best you can do?”
He ran his tongue across his bottom lip, but down on it after, “Is that a challenge?”
You said nothing, instead sitting up and pushing your legs on either side of his hips. A soft moan escaped his lips as he felt your still dripping heat sitting on the base of him.
“Why don’t you find out and see?”

How would the Lord’s be with a s/o who’s short like 5’0 but they’re super sweet but can be feisty
Heyy so i’ve been sick recently so this may not be as good as always and it’s a little rushed but i hope it’s not too bad! but this was still always enjoyable to write as always! enjoy
Alcina Dimitrescu
Alcina is lecturing one of the maidens for leaving one of the windows open when she feels something tapping on her leg.
Her eyebrow raises when she finds you tugging on the fabric of her dress, your hands covered in blood.
She picks you up by the back of your shirt as you give her the brightest but cheekiest smile.
“Now what have you been up to in these castle walls that has led you to put blood all over my dress.”
Your legs dangle in the air as you explain that you’ve spend the last four hours running around in the cellars and dungeons trying to find hidden trinkets. You didn’t anticipate to run into an array of grim reaper type creatures but you never turned down a challenge.
“My my, it seems you have been busy.”
Alcina throws you over her shoulder and carries you into her private quarters before she practically dumps you in the bath that swallows you.
“You, my dear are not coming to dinner looking like that.”
She’s seated on the edge of the tub, gloves removed as she rubs her expensive rose scented shampoo in your hair. For a moment it’s quite peaceful.
You’re ever the troublemaker and considering Alcina’s dress was already dirty you couldn’t help but splash water on her.
She grasps but plays into your cheeky ways and splashes you back just as playfully until you’re both soapy and covered in water.
You both dress for dinner with Alcina insisting you wear some of your more finer clothes but you still manage to pull some buttons loose here and there.
Although you’re a wild one, bouncing down the hallway and nearly knocking over one of Alcina’s fine porcelain vases, you still take her hand in yours and walk proudly into the dinner room with your lady.
You take your place at the dining table next to Alcina, your chair significantly higher to sit comfortably but she definitely pampered you with some of the finest cushions to boost you up.
Still you can’t help but feel happy and full of joy to see your family and that only lifts your mood further.
Donna Beneviento
Donna walks into the lounge room to find you chasing angie around, trying to get to her from behind the couch.
“You’ll never take me alive!!”
You’re just as crazy and rambunctious as Angie, the two of you instantly getting along. Donna smiles when she finds that Angie finally found a friend and she’s thrilled that Angie is taken with you.
“Will you two calm down before you break something!”
The two of you stop to stare at Donna who is holding a porcelain doll in her hands to stop it from being broken as you practically jump around the room.
But somehow through all your wildness you have a soft spot for Donna. Slowing your movements and walking up to her, you wrap your arms around her neck and hide your head under her chin.
“I’m sorry Dons, will you come exploring with Angie and I in the mountains??”
With you and Angie on either side of Donna, the three of you spend your afternoon exploring the caves near the waterfall.
Jumping over pools of rocks and mini cliffs, you always go first holding your hand out to Donna each time so she can hold onto while she jumps.
You’re always there to catch her too. It’s a little hard when you’re smaller than her but you’d never let her fall.
Eventually you come to an opening in one of the caves. The view is spectacular, with the waterfall cascading down and catching the fading light beautifully.
Your hand is in Donna’s gently rubbing your thumb on the back of her hand. However in a split second Angie comes up and surprises her with a loud BOO.
Donna’s surprised shriek rings in the cave she thinks she’s going to fall from the height of the cave, Angie’s creepy laughter eventually drowns it out.
You wrap your arms around her, keeping a calm but gentle hand on the back of her head to steady her.
“It’s alright, I gotcha now”
You hug Donna tightly, death glaring Angie behind her shoulder. When you pull away, you take Donna’s face and cradle it gently in your hands.
“Common, lets go home I could do with a nice warm cup of tea to go with a good book.”
Even though Donna was less adventurous as you were, she always enjoyed running around with you and Angie but you always spoiled her afterwards with a warm night in under blankets and warm tea while you read to her.
Salvatore Moreau
Salvatore was walking around the windmill trying to find you when he’s interrupted by a rather loud noise.
“HEY SAL GUESS WHO’S FINALLY TALLER THAN U??”
He audibly grasps when he sees you sitting on the wooden sail of windmill, smiling down on him.
You jump down and land in front of him, giggling at the small scream that leaves him. Stepping forward and into his space you place a kiss on his cheek.
“It’s me!!”
You take Salvatore’s hand in your own and lead him to explore all the nooks and crannies of the windmill with him.
Eventually you run off from him and hide behind one of the wooden crates stacked in the corner.
Poor Salvatore is confused by where you’ve gone trying to find you frantically as he runs around looking for you. You had the advantage however, being small had its perks sometimes.
When he’s not looking you run up and jump him from behind, your hands wrapping around his neck as you cling to him.
His laugh bounces off the valley and he spins around with you in a piggyback. One of your favourite things is making him laugh.
You spend the next few hours playing what is basically hide and seek as you run around all through the windmills, reservoir and mines doing your best to stay clear of any lycans.
You’re a wild card in Salvatore’s otherwise quiet life, but he loves you nonetheless. But you don’t miss the way his hand clings to yours in a death grip.
However, sometimes you’re a little too wild for his comfort zone and he definitely refused to do the zip line with you. But he cheered for you from his place on the ground because he never wants you to change the way you are. To him, you’re perfect.
Karl Heisenberg
Karl is always used to strange noises and loud bangs within the factory, but after living there for as long as he had; he can always tell when somethings out of place.
A rather large crash rings throughout the halls of the factory and Karl begrudgingly puts out his cigar, hoping that one of the Soldats hadn’t broken any of his equipment.
When he walks into a smelting room he finds you on the floor with metal boxes all over you and you buried under the toppled over shelf.
Karl flicks his wrist and all the metal moves to the corner of the room to reveal you huffing your hair out of your face.
You were looking for a mould to craft a new dagger with, sorting through the assortment of boxes when it all came falling down on top of you.
Karl moves his wrist once more, moving the mould you were looking for to his hand, a smug look on his face. He knew. For the last few weeks he’d seen you eyeing out that mould when you came to sit with him while he worked.
“Looking for something?”
You stand to your feet and try to snatch it out of his hand. Karl sees you coming from a mile away and holds it above your head, he doesn’t even need to use his powers for this one, his arm will do just fine.
He’s cocky and can’t help but torment the thing over your head like a child but in an instant you have him tackled to the ground. Now that one he didn’t see coming.
“Don’t think for a moment Heisenberg that just because I’m small that i couldn’t totally kick your ass if i needed to.”
Now you’re the one to be cocky as Karl stares in awe up at you, it took a lot of strength and maybe a hint of luck to bring down someone as powerful as him.
Eventually you let him up from his kindly uncomfortable position on the floor, his back strained against the metal grates. You totally don’t threaten to throw him at Alcina’s doorstep if he doesn’t make that new dagger for you.
Karl loved that about you, how feisty and wild you could be. It meant you were a great training partner and both of you either trained together often. Being small had its too. One thing Karl lacked was finesse and you were much more agile and skilled in your movements.
Other times you’d help Karl out in the factory by lifting boxes of scrap metal or even welding some of the weapons. He absolutely loved that about you, how he could easily be comfortable with you and his heart swelled when he could teach you all that he knew about metal. For the first time in a long time it felt like someone was on his side.
One day Karl saw you take a Soldat out with your new dagger and to say that it didn’t scare the shit out of him would be a fucking lie. Soldats were taller than him for christ sake.
Karl loved you though. He loved how fierce you were but you had the heart of gold and to him, you were this perfect little being that made his heart beat twice as fast when he was with you.
He loved that you could hold your own and would stand up to anyone but in the closed doors of the factory he got to see a softer more tender side of you filled with tender kisses and tight hugs.

Yandere!Kaeya & Yandere!Albedo x gn!reader
Wordcount: 4156
CW: Yandere themes, mentions of violence, death and NSFW
An angel.
That’s what Kaeya thinks when he sees you - he’s far from being a religious person, yet this word appears in his mind, vivid and burning, pushing out any other thought away. He stands here, starstruck and unsure what to do, devouring your visage with his eye alone.
Your first meeting is incidental - he walks around the Mondstadt, looking for the leads for the recent mass disappearance case. An alarming number of people went missing right before the Windrise festival. All are destitute alcoholics with no real importance, all except one - Javier Lawrence, who in this case is a rich alcoholic, and a reason why investigation even started. Mondstadt may be a nation of freedom, yet money and status still dominate most of its social dynamics.
Kaeya goes to Eula first - Javier was her twice removed cousin after all, she ought to know something. The spindrift knight is restrained in her speech, careful not to insult her missing relative, despite the deepening frown. She says almost nothing new, stating that Javier had a passion for drinking and wasting his days away, she also mentions his favourite places to wander while drunk - gardens, plaza and the forest outside the city.
Visits to the first two bear no fruits - Kaeya doesn’t find any eyewitnesses, but hears tons upon the tons of complaints and insults directed at the missing, so he heads for the forest, expecting to find the mangled body among the heaps of green leaves - being drunk in the forest deep is never a good idea, yet he finds none. He stumbles upon you instead.
You sit among the wild flowers and bitter herbs, head bowed, closely inspecting the plants in your hands and humming a light tune as you do so. There’s a certain serenity about you, some kind of magical elegance radiating off of every movement, it’s deliberate, yet relaxed. You remind him of the forest nymph from the paintings he saw - celestial and seductive, and totally unaware of the effect you have on him.
This feeling is further exacerbated by the simple white shirt you're wearing - the material is thin and half-transparent, already revealing the outline of your torso. Kaeya gulps when he imagines it getting wet and clinging to your body, your skin and nipples showing through the flimsy fabric. The only thing that spoils this otherwise perfect sight are small dark bruises both hands, blooming like two ominous roses.
“Hello”, he finally suppresses lustful urges and steps closer, distracting you from the herb picking. “My name’s Kaeya Alberich, I am the cavalry captain of the Knight of Favonius, and I want you to answer a couple of my questions”.
You turn unnaturally still upon hearing his voice, hands squeezing the plants, even your breathing is impossible to hear. You are terrified. Kaeya turns his head to the side at this picture, eyebrows raised - this is… a very interesting reaction.
“I am sorry, I am not allowed to talk to strangers”, you say, finally collecting yourself and raising your head to meet his eye, and Kaeya finds himself struck again.
Stars.
You have star-shaped pupils. Just like him.
He makes a step again, back this time, as his chest starts to rise and fall faster, breathing accelerating. Why do you have these eyes? He thought he was the only one left…
“Sir Kaeya, what brings you here?”he hears a familiar voice. Albedo comes from the forest deep, quickly striding to him and then stopping between you and the cavalry captain. Alchemist's face remains indifferent and his tone impassive, yet through the haze of confusion and shock Kaeya still notes how he protectively put himself between you two, as if shielding you from his gaze.
“Investigation. I thought asking… this lovely person a couple of questions might help solve the case”, he flashes one of his most charming smiles to Albedo, who predictably remains apathetic towards such displays. You, on the other hand, still sit on the forest ground and have your eyes shifting between Kaeya and Albedo, with fear and hope respectively.
“I am afraid you won’t find any answers here. They are under my care, and they don’t know anything about whatever your case is”. Albedo’s voice still remains polite, but Kaeya can taste the hidden hostility, he almost backs off from surprise.
“Well, that’s unfortunate”, he admits defeat and puts on a smile again - it’s a colder one this time, less genuine - and turns on his heels, throwing “have a nice day” as the afterthought, insides burning with the strange mix of disappointment and resentment.
He almost leaves the forest, as he hears Albedo talking to you: “It’s alright, [First], I won't punish you for speaking to him, he asked you first”. You reply something, but Kaeya is too far to make out any of your lovely voice, yet the things he witnessed today are enough to spawn a horde of questions.
Why does Albedo act so possessive? Why do you allow him to do so? What connects you two together? And most importantly: Who are you?
Thousand different theories fleet through his mind, as he mulls over new information. He doesn’t come back to that place, despite his curiosity nagging him to do so, he can’t - Kaeya is now acutely aware of the power Albedo seems to hold over you and returning might anger the alchemist.
Cavalry captain returns to the case of missing people, yet his mind continues to wander off, thought returning to your face and voice and body and the colossal mystery cloaking you.
***
Investigation progresses unbelievably slowly - if he was a gullible person, Kaeya would’ve thought that all of the missing just vanished into thin air - no leads, no traces, not a single clue of what might have happened, leaving the knights with nothing but straws to grasp at. To add to the severity of the situation after a week of receiving the case from Jean, Kaeya is notified about the new disappearance of two other people - Joachim and Luckas. They’re also a pair of alcoholics, the first one was last seen around the Angel’s Share, the second one was heading for the Dragonspine.
Kaeya goes to the said tavern - at first he just talks with the patrons, effortlessly fishing out the information about the missing person, which brings nothing new (again), then he gets a bit bored with drunk-interrogating others and decides to ask Diluc what he might’ve seen. And that also reveals nothing new (again) - Joachim has visited the tavern, ordered some wine and after a couple of bottles downed, left. Nothing extraordinary or groundbreaking, just a day of another Mondstadtian drunkard.
It seems that he isn’t destined to find whatever spirited Joachim away, so Kaeya leaves the city heading for the snowy mountain in the distance. He asks around the adventurers camp near the ruined tower, only to hear that Luckas was seen around the mountain.
Kaeya walks to the Dragonspine, already feeling the chill at the foot of the mountain, and his determination slowly melts - Dragonspine is one big freezing hellhole, full of monsters and Fatuis who for some reason decided to reside here, yet one particular face appears in his mind. Seeing you again might be worth the whole trouble - he noticed you a couple of times, always in the company of the certain alchemist, so if Albedo is in his camp, then you’re most likely there too.
Now inspired Kaeya quickly traverses the mountain, skillfully avoiding the hilichurl tribes and skirmishes altogether. After a short, yet frankly gruelling travel he finds himself finally arriving at the camp, your figure seen from the entrance. You sit near the alchemical device, tightly bundled up in layers upon layers of warm clothes, a book in your hands with no Albedo in sight. The alchemical apparatus is on, dyeing the whole room into scarlet shades, something red boiling inside of it, filling the air with the strange metallic scent. “Recent history of Teyvat”, Kaeya reads the cover and takes a step in. You remain still, too engrossed in reading to hear his footsteps, which he uses to take another good look at you.
Your face still looks lovely as it was on that day, yet there’s now a strong aura of frailness present - a greyish undertone of the skin, dry, chapped lips, pinkish-red rims blooming on your eyes, duller hair, even the fingers holding the books appear to be thinner. You look emaciated and exhausted, you must be sick.
“Hello”, Kaeya decides to pop the bubble of tranquility again - you quickly lift your head to look at him and almost drop the book: “We met before, in the forest, remember? I am here because of an investigation”.
“I am sorry, but I don’t think I can be of any help and I am still not allowed to talk to strangers”, you say and return to reading, pretending that he isn’t here.
“Well, that means we can introduce ourselves, so we won’t be strangers anymore and you will be able to talk to me without breaking any rules, right? Hello! I am Kaeya Alberich and I work as cavalry captain in the Knights of Favonius, pleased to meet you!”, he puts on his warmest smile and outstretches his hand to shake yours.
“I am not sure that this is a good idea, Albedo warned me to avoid outsiders”, you say, looking uneasy, as you throw a quick glance, past Kaeya, to the entrance of the camp.
“Albedo and I are coworkers, we both even had to work on some missions together, sure he doesn’t think of me as some outsider”.
“If you say so”, you sigh and cave in, your palm finally touching his. Kaeya feels the corners of his lips creeping up at the sensation, his heart skipping a beat or two: “I am [First} and I am… Albedo’s ward, pleased to meet you too”
“Now with introductions done, can I ask you a question?”, he takes another step and you nod - a step more and he might feel the warmth radiating off of your body, or hear your faint breathing, or smell your scent.
“Where are you from?”, your eyes widen at that. Kaeya finds himself almost hypnotized by this sight: the stars in your eyes shine with a renewed strength, the pale sunlight bringing out their warmth and radiance.
“I don’t really remember”, you admit, voice quiet and small: “Albedo says he found…”
“I discovered [First] in the heart of the mountain”, alchemist ends it for you, standing at the entrance of his camp with both of his assistants by the side, hands occupied by the local flora.
“Timaeus, sort and prepare ingredients”, he hands the herbs to the man: “Sucrose, you check up on [First] and give them.. the medicine, don’t worry I’ll just talk to sir Kaeya there”, Timaeus and Sucrose rush to the assigned task, with the latter taking out a red vial from the alchemical drawer, the liquid inside shimmering and glowing with an unnatural glitter. The last part is said to you, as alchemist gestures for the cavalry captain to go outside, quickly leaving the room.
Kaeya follows him as they both leave the camp - Albedo walks unusually quickly, not looking around even once to check if he’s still behind, and only when the both of them leave the camp far enough - so far that you, Timaeus and Sucrose turn into a small dots does he stop.
“What do you need? Why did you interrogate [First]?”, Albedo says, skipping all of the courtesies. His voice remains neutral, but Kaeya can feel the displeasure - it radiates off of his pose and faster speech, how Kreideprinz’s disinterested eyes suddenly turned cold and piercing.
“Easy, easy”, Kaeya half-laughs, raising his hands in mock defence: “interrogate is a strong word here, we two just had a friendly chat”.
Teal eyes narrow at this whimsical answer and alchemist’s face sours: “Leave [First] alone”, he voices, darkly and angrily - Kaeya almost backs off from surprise - it’s quite unusual to see Albedo express his disdain so freely and openly, yet he replies in the same carefree tone:
“I won’t, not until you say where they’re from at least. [First] has star-shaped pupils, we both know what it means”.
“I already have said that - I found [First] deep underneath the mountain, completely frozen. Cold must have trapped them in the ice and preserved their body for all these years, yet it also damaged their memory. They seem to be unaware of what happened to your homeland five hundred years ago, nor do they have any idea of the present world". Kaeya intently observes Albedo as he says that - alchemist is certainly hiding something.
"That's how.. Well, I wish [First] good luck in retrieving their memories", he decides not to press further - Albedo is already in a bad mood and won't tolerate him fishing for more information, nor will the alchemist agree to share what he hides. Kaeya asks him a couple of questions pertaining to the missing person and he gets the expected answer - Luckas wasn't seen by Albedo or any of his assistants either. Alchemist says it a bit quicker than he usually talks, Kaeya chalks it up to annoyance.
***
The first useful lead appears after the third disappearance this month - Masha Haedle, who was characterized as hardworking and passionate, yet troubled by her alcohol addiction, vanished on the way to her job. Her employer sent one letter after another, demanding her to visit her workplace, lest she will be fired. Haedle didn’t answer any of the messages, nor was she spotted anywhere in the next few days.
It was her concerned neighbours who notified the knights, who quickly connected her disappearance to the series of other missing cases and Kaeya was dispatched again - he decided to start by investigating her house and he was right in doing so.
Her place is barren, but tidy, Haedle's diligence and financial issues shining through the simple interior. Kaeya strides among the neatly cleaned house until he enters a small bedroom.
Unlike the rest of the place, the bed here is undone, sheets lay messily across the nightstand and floor, with a couple of plant pots knocked over, dry soil sprawled everywhere. He comes closer to this picture, taking in the small details - there's a trace of fingernails on the wood, as if the victim was latching onto the furniture as she was dragged back, a part of the sheets is actually burnt, with a small candle crushed on the floor - it could be knocked down when kidnapper attacked Masha, and the most glaring piece - an orange dimly glowing crystal.
It crumbles and disintegrates the same second Kaeya picks it up, but this short moment is enough to feel the warmth radiating off of it - it's a geo crystal, formed by the reaction with pyro.
Whoever attacked miss Haedle was using a geo vision to put out the fire, and might also be the reason of other disappearances. After all, a vision user kidnapping the drunkards is just as nonsensical as said drunks just vanishing into thin air, leaving nothing behind.
***
Mondstadt embraces the Windrise festival with the same warmth it always did, as citizens of all sorts start to prepare for the coming festivities. Some decorate their houses with dried and paper flowers that they consider anemones, others stock up on both sweets and wine, no doubt for a celebratory dinner, bards recite the new songs, praising the anemo archon and caroling the freedom that Barbatos gave them, and knights, both high and low ranks alike are piled with even more work.
Kaeya finds himself temporarily dispatched from the dead-end investigation, tasked to look out for any suspicious persons and possible lawbreakers, as a horde of tourists and traders flooded the city. He spends the entire day working, and catches a breather once the sun starts to set. This break, however, is swiftly interrupted, when Jean summons him, asking to deliver some messages to Albedo for the lack of workforce.
Unsurprisingly, the alchemist spends his time outside of the city in a temporary camp, preferring the fresh air and forest landscape to the human loudness and cheer. He finds you alone again, with Albedo nowhere to be seen. Seems that whatever disease has plagued you started to back off - your tone is still far from healthy, yet it stopped being so ashy and grey like the first time, and your starry eyes no longer look like you’ve cried all night non-stop.
You stand near the table, slowly sorting the alchemical compounds, with both sleeves rolled up, exposing the delicate, elegant wrists and the old bruising on the forearms. The setting sun almost lights your visage on fire - you look brighter, more vivid, than you did under the pale Dragonspine sun or the cool shadow of the forest. You look like you glow too.
Even with the fatigue, he still smiles - ah, you’re so easy on the eyes, he rests just by looking at you..
“Hello”, he approaches, distracting you from your task for the third time: “is Albedo here?”.
“He left some time ago, he wanted to sketch hilichurl tribe. Said it’s too dangerous for me, so I am just standing here, waiting for him”, Kaeya can sense a mild disappointment coming from you, which is not surprising - spending your time in the wilderness, while the city before you is set ablaze in the celebration can frustrate anyone. He gets an idea.
“I see you want to see the Windrise for yourself, am I right?”, your affirmative nod, “How about I accompany you to Mondstadt and we both have some fun?”.
“I would really want to, but Albedo asked me to stay here. I don’t want to disappoint him”, you reply, the hesitation in your voice clear as day.
“And you won't!”Kaeya retorts: “I will take all the blame, say that I spirited you away with my persuasion skills”, he adds dramatically and outstretches his palm in a theatrical gesture. You giggle at that, obviously entertained by his antics.
“Alright, you’ve convinced me”, you take his hand, before asking: “this is why you came? To invite me to a festival?”
Oh, he forgot about messages.
Kaeya leaves them in the secure box you pointed to, before taking your hand again and almost running back to Monstadt. Something tells him that Albedo will be livid once he returns to the now empty camp.
***
“Oh gods”, you gasp, looking at the burst of colors exploding in the night sky - some travelers have brought fireworks from Liyue and Inazuma and decided to set them off, creating a breathtaking scenery. Kaeya even forgets how to breathe, but not because of the fireworks, but you - you look so excited and amazed, and all kinds of colours reflect from your eyes, the stars in them resembling two large diamonds. He’s ready to kill for this sight.
The next half an hour are spent with him following you, as you excitedly run from one thing or another - turns out Albedo didn’t allow you much outside time, so even the main streets of Mondstadt are novelty to you. He drinks in your reactions, all the faces and sounds you make are stored away in his memory as you get amazed by the simplest things.
In the end, he decides to take you to the Angel’s Share, you’re already so cute and he can’t imagine how much more adorable you’ll become all drunk and giggly. He orders a bottle of a young wine for you two - made from the spring dandelions, it’s taste is perfect for the atmosphere of Windrise - it tastes of freedom and adventure, the spirit of Mondstadt encapsulated into a beverage.
“It tastes nice”, you comment, taking a small sip, “it’s sweet but not too sweet”, before your face suddenly contorts from pain and you bend in half, hands clutching your abdomen.
“[First]? What’s happening, [First]?”Kaeya rushes to you, his hands stopping your fall. You mumble something incoherent, before going limp in his hold - you are unconscious. He shakes your form to wake you up, yet you don’t respond, inner panic slowly rising - what to do, what to do, what to do?
“Did you give alcohol to [First]?!”, suddenly someone hisses near him. It’s Albedo again and it’s the first time Kaeya sees him so angry. “We need to get [First] to my lab quickly. Every second counts”, Albedo helps him to lift you up and almost runs out from the tavern, pushing others away to make way for Kaeya and you in his hands.
“Put them here”, alchemist point to the big wooden table, quickly knocking over all empty flasks down, uncaring of the equipment he might break, as he rushes into the further part of the room, taking out the already on alchemical apparatus from the depths of his cabinets.
The strange red liquid slushes inside, as Albedo swiftly opens the top and adds some hideous mix of blood and pieces of flesh into the device, the reek of blood and alcohol permeating the air.
Kaeya wants to gag. “What’s this?”, he asks, not bothering to hide his disgust.
“Medicine”, Albedo quickly replies, teal eyes shifting from the mix to your sick face.
Over time the stench subsides, and apparatus starts to glow and shimmer with that scarlet radiance Kaeya saw in the Dragonspine camp, replacing the stink with the same strange coppery scent. Albedo takes out a glass vial from his pocket and connects it to the faucet of the apparatus, collecting the fat drops of the produced liquid.
Kaeya takes a good look at the product, mesmerized by the strange glitter and shimmer - it looks alive, and then suddenly everything clicks - the origin of medicine, the smell of alcohol coming from meat and even the disappearances of the drunkards. He remembers the tales his father used to tell him, about khemia and the wonders and horrors it could unleash - artificial humans, endless gold and…
“Philosopher’s stone”, he breathes out, utterly shocked by his revelation.
“How? How did you know”, Albedo looks at him with scared eyes, almost dropping the vial with “medicine”.
“Why?! Why did you do that?!”Kaeya yells instead of answering the question, still shocked and horrified, a taste of bile appearing on his tongue.
Alchemist seems unsure and totally lost for a good minute, as his usually calm face rapidly shifts between different emotions: sadness, shock, horror, shame and even anger, until finally resulting into the expression of total defeat: “It’s for [First]’s sake”, he tiredly admits the dark secret: “The frost has severely damaged their internal organs. I’ve been trying to heal them, but to no avail”.
“So you decided to break alchemical laws and create the elixir of life”, Kaeya grimly concludes, face scrunching up from disgust.
“Yes”, an unsettling lips makes its way onto the alchemist's lips as he lifts his head and looks captain right in the eye: “I’ve broken the laws, killed people and used their bodies. All to save [First]. Don’t tell me you wouldn’t do the same, I’ve seen how you stare at [First] and I know what you want to do with them”.
.Was he that obvious?
“I see”, Kaeya replies, sensing the growing headache and rubbing his temples: “I won’t tell others of what you’ve done”. He can’t just imprison Albedo and doom you to a slow, agonizing death.
“I knew you would agree with me”, alchemist sighs “[First] is getting healthier, they won’t need… medicine as often, yet their organs will never be in a top condition”.
“How many?”
“What?”
“How many people per year?”
Albedo turns quiet again, the creepy smile vanishing as quickly as it appeared, as his eyes adopt that contemplating look again.
“No more than three people. Once I fix that liver damage you gave [First] with your wine, they won’t need no more than three transfusions”, he says his verdict and Kaeya weighs his words - three missing people per year is a miniscule number.
“I make at most philosopher’s stones per year and you cover my tracks in exchange for time with [First]. Deal?”, Albedo extends his hand for a handshake and Kaeya takes it, yet doesn’t shake it, asking instead:
“Can I get to taste [First]?”, he smiles, remembering your face and imagining your body.
“If [First] consents to that, then yes”, Albedo becomes that inexpressive again, yet he can still feel the displeasure and indignation coming from alchemist’s answer.
“I am sure they will, I think they like me”, he finally shakes the other’s arm.
They sit in a silence for a while, before the vial gets completely filled by the “medicine” - Albedo takes out a syringe and injects the mixture into your bloodstream through the veins on the hands. Kaeya smiles even wider, looking how a healthy colour returns to your face - he can’t wait to reap the fruits of this agreement.

Note
Maybe you caring for the chain? Like doing small things like helping tend to their wounds or brushing their hair. Love the blog btw!
Masterlist
A little TLC?
A little Fluff?
That's my JAM! You got it hun!
It's gonna be in bullet point list because I can.
Content under the cut!
Time
Can you imagine this guy?
It's late at night and you wake up unexpectantly.
It was supposed to be your shift but it's way past that
It's even past the shift after yours
Time is still by the fire pit
Awake
You get up
You walk over to him
Place a hand on his shoulder
He looks up at you, tired as hell
He knows he's been caught.
"It's past your bed time Old Man"
"I just wanted to give everyone a little break."
And like?!
You push him aside gently and he lets you sit next to him.
You pull him towards you and you place his head on your lap
"What am I going to do with you?"
"It's not your job to take care of me."
"Someone has to. Malon will have our heads if you come back home any less than how you left."
You start running your fingers through his hair and he closes his eyes in bliss.
It's quiet and neither of you say anything.
Time quickly falls asleep from your touch and you stay up to take your watch.
You take the next watch after as well.
Soon enough the sun rises.
And you let Time sleep in.
Twilight
What about Twilight?
Twilight was mid battle, fighting multiple bokoblins at once.
At some point he had lost his sword.
This boy hunkers down and starts swinging.
It's a one on five boxing match.
Twilight, to say the least, is not unharmed by the end of it.
You notice that he's not stable on his feet and has a few bloodied patches on his clothes, not to mention the (hopefully) small cut on his forehead.
It's more blood than you'd like to see.
You're quick to help and let him lean into your side.
You bring to the side of the fire, quickly taking out your personal med pack and begin to clean his face.
He's not seeing straight so he starts to speak nonsense.
"Twilight honey, please, don't." You try not to laugh.
"Have you seen them though?"
He's talking about you.
"They're so amazing. Did you know that? They're so cool. They know so much about history and animals and plants."
"Twilight please, I can't reach the cut. I need to disinfect it."
"And animals and Epona and Epona likes them so much. I want to show them my home and my family. Colin would love them. And I think they and Illia would be best friends."
You're blushing but it's soft and you're smiling because Twilight is smiling and he looks so happy at the thought.
You wave away Hyrule when he comes to check on The Rancher, letting him know that you've got it covered.
It's sweet.
Wild
His is a little more obvious
"Wild, what on earth?"
He comes back from an afternoon adventure.
He's absolutely filthy.
There's at least three sticks in his hair.
At least those are the ones that you can count because they're sticking out.
Multiple leaves.
You think you see something move.
"What?"
He doesn't care.
You sigh and stalk up to him.
You grab his arm.
"You're my prisoner now"
Wild tries to fight you but you're determined.
You sit him and take out a brush, taking his pony tail down.
It's a long battle.
But after at least thirty minutes of fighting the branches and leaves and what might have been a tiny mouse like creature.
The mouse thingy just ran away.
You're trying to be as gentle as you can but Wild has a hard time sitting still.
Some leaves leave easier than others and there were actually seven separate branches in his hair that you take out one by one.
But when you get past the battle and clear the foliage, Wild relaxes.
Soon you're only brushing his hair.
He needs to wash it.
But you're not anywhere near any body of water so it'll have to wait.
Wild hums every time you pass the brush pleasantly through his hair.
Within moments his hair is soft and tangle free.
You look around him to look at his face.
He's calm and blissful.
You smile and go back to brushing his hair.
It's a calm afternoon from then on out.
Warrior
Warrior isn't one to accept TLC in public but-
It's after a battle.
And you look over to Warrior who's taking off his armor at a painstakingly slow pace.
It takes him a while.
He grimaces in pain and begins to rub his neck and shoulder.
You bit your lip and sigh.
You make your way over to him.
"Need a hand, soldier boy?"
"What?"
He's confused.
"If you got pain, I can help with that."
You don't want to make it a big deal or weird.
"How?"
"I want your permission first. I'd have to touch you."
"Sure. Why not? Do it."
You nod and get behind him.
Soon enough you start kneading his shoulders and lower neck.
He grunts at the pressure you put on it but otherwise lets you continue.
He's stiff as a brick.
So you're there for a while.
But when you get tired or when he's better off than how you started (whichever comes first) you let him go.
He rubs absentmindedly where your hands just were and smiles in relief.
"Thanks."
You grin.
"Any time."
Sky
Now Sky is a bit different
He's not shy about TLC
He's frequently the one to take care of the others
You however notice something off one day
His hand was always in a fist and you pulled him aside.
"You ok? What happened?"
Sky sighs, and opens up his palm
A large cut down the middle
It cut through his leather and gloves and was bleeding through the cloth Sky was holding.
You gasp and begin to help him out then and there.
"How did this happen?"
"It's not that big of a deal."
"It's your hand!" You take off the gloves as gently as you can and bring out your med pack. "You kind of need that."
You sit him down and clean it off.
He's quiet as you work, watching you tend to his wound.
He flinches slightly at the disinfectant and hisses.
You begin to wrap his hand with a clean bandage.
You're meticulous in wrapping it up completely.
It's slow and you're losing progress in travel time but neither of you care.
"You don't have to do this."
"I want to. You can't stop me."
"I'm pretty I could if I did."
"Yeah, probably."
More silence.
You take moment to study your work and gently turn his hand over.
You give it back to him.
"How did you even manage that? You're usually so much better at this."
"It's... embarrassing..."
"Do I even want to know?"
"...No... Thank you... For helping."
"Of course."
Legend
"Legend, sweetheart, what are you doing?"
He's the kind to avoid public soft and gentle actions
Even if he's the kind to desperately want them
He'll push people away and fail to satisfy himself by yearning from a distance.
One day, you have enough.
He's trying to sit next to you and he's fidgeting, internally fighting himself over something but it's too close to you to not notice.
You sigh and pull him close to you, wrapping both of your arms around him even as he tries to fight you off.
He's trying to struggle out of it but you just snuggle into his shoulder.
He doesn't fight you for long.
Legend borderline melts into your embrace and he hugs your arm in return.
"You've got a weird sense of pride, you know that?"
You start to run your hands through his hair.
Legend scoffs
"You're the one being weird."
"Mh-hm."
"You are."
"Just say you want a hug."
"....No."
"Well I guess I have to hug you more often then."
"........No."
"Yes."
"Ok."
Hyrule
Now, you're pretty sure that The Traveler's love language is touch, so he's not shy about keeping his hands to himself.
There's always a hand on your shoulder, a comfortable hug when your sad, gentle fingers to wipe away your tears and he's doesn't mind when one (or three) members fall asleep on him.
"Oh my- Hyrule" You drop your defensive stance from being startled and stare at him.
He's bleeding from at least three different areas.
"Hyrule, sugar, sit down!" You rush over to him and help him get into a sturdy position.
You're quick to pull out a potion and help him drink it.
His hand makes its way onto your shoulder as he settles himself down.
You push his hair out of his face with frantic but gentle fingers.
"Hellllllloooo." Hyrule attempts to smile but his head swoops to the side, too heavy for him to keep it up.
"Oh, what happened?" You push up his sleeve and begin to treat the nasty scrape on his forearm.
You know the potion will eventually take care of the injuries
But you're impatient.
"I... Got caught up in a cave."
"Why did you go alone?" You stress as you begin to clean the blood off.
"...Couldn't find Wild."
"Oh my goodness, take me with you next time." You nearly shake him. "Don't go alone."
Hyrule nods and sighs in relief, as the potion begin to effect.
"That sounds like fun."
"Can you not get hurt, for just like... five minutes..."
"I can't make that promise."
"Promise me, you'll at least tell someone that you'll be going somewhere."
"I can do that."
Wind
Wind is down for anything.
He's not afraid of any sort of TLC.
You're sitting next to each other one day for dinner
You both eat until you're full and lean up against each other.
The warmth of the fire heats both of you like a comfortable blanket.
Wind leans up against you and sighs.
You smile and wrap one of your arms around him.
Wind then snuggles closer and hums happily.
You set your plate aside and begin running your fingers through his hair.
Within moments Wind starts to fall asleep against you and he lets himself fall even more against you.
"Sleep hon, I got you."
" 'mkay." Wind adjusts himself one more time and lets his breath even out.
You let him sleep against you for a while until you also decided to hit the hay.
One of the others sets up his bed roll and you pick up Wind.
You begin to make your way over and set him down but your resident pirate holds onto your arm
"-Don't." Wind whines.
You hide your snickers and try to get him to let you go.
He doesn't.
Welp...
You bite the bullet and ask Hyrule to bring over your own bed roll.
With the help of some of the other boys, you get it set up as close as you can get it.
Adjusting your grip, you lay on your side and pull Wind close.
It's bedtime.
So you fall asleep next to him.
Four
Four is actually little more like Legend in terms of initiating contact than he cares to admit.
He's not going to push anyone away if they come to him.
Even if he wants something as simple as a hug, he won't be the one to go and hug someone.
Someone will have to hug him.
But this boy yearns.
And he's bad at hiding it.
You take it upon yourself when he's being a little off to talk to him
Brush his hair
Hold his hand
Hold him close with your arm over his shoulders, a side hug when your both walking.
He lets you.
He leans in closer and tilts his head in your direction.
A silent request for pats.
If you've been playing with his hair for long enough, he'll let you braid it.
You take the time to keep it out of his eyes and occasionally put flowers in it when there's more down time.
Four won't say it but it's one of his favorite times
He wears his flower braids with pride
It's not something that he would do for himself but he wouldn't change it for the world.
It makes him feel special.

anon request - READER X AZRIEL - sorry if this wasn’t exactly what you want! I got a bit carried away in my own idea of Azriel being supportive but protective at the same time!
some hurt/comfort with Azriel where he and the reader get in a huge fight over protecting Elain (like they travel to a different court and Azriel is overprotective) and then the reader goes scouting to also cool down a bit and they get ambushed, the reader gets injured and the mating bond snaps. Hope it's not too much trouble!!
Elain was absurdly still as the conversation played out. Conversation being a loose term for the shouting happening around her. You didn’t leave her side though, even though your anger flourished while they spoke as if she wasnt there. Azriel was packing her things, shoving them haphazardly into a bag. The bag that Feyre had given her from their first trip down to the markets after Elain had started acting somewhat normal again. The happy memory seemed so distant now, compared to the anxiety ridden emotions that played about in the room.
“We are not going to the continent.” Az’s tone shift was abrupt, a snap of anger leaning into it. He tied the top of the bag closed and set it roughly atop the living room table. The scattered odds and ends of survival gear and weapons scraped against the wood. You watched the stare down between the high lord and his shadowsinger patiently. Waiting for your moment to speak rationally to them.
Rhys’ power roiled above, his eyes did not hide his frustration with his brother. His gaze was simmering with that dark power he possessed. Azriel did not back down. “The continent is the only place that may be safe. If the King finds out she’s a Seer he will never let her go. We can’t risk losing her as a hostage.”
You knew she would be a hostage too. Feyre would never let her sister be taken without a fight. Rhys knew his mate well enough to know not to risk just Elain, but Feyre too. Cauldron knew what Nesta would do if she were in that room during the conversation. Likely spitting fire and shoving Elain out the door to wherever she seemed to think was safe. Thankfully, both sisters were scouring deep in the library for any way to help win this battle.
Azriel did not break eyecontact with his brother as he made to speak again. You interrupted before he could make the situation worse. “I have somewhere in mind.” You spoke softly, urging the staring contest to end. Azriel looked away first, and you were surprised at that. His eyes met yours with something like relief. “Autumn. We have Eris on our side if we’re caught. I have a spot we can stay until-” Azriels scoff sent anger shooting through you. You clenched your teeth together to keep from lashing out at him as he had been doing just moments before.
“Autumn is possibly the worst place we could send you right now. We’re on the brink of war with them potentially being on Hyberns side. We would be sending you straight to Hybern himself.”
“Exactly. It’s stupid and they would never expect it.”
“You’re not going. Beron exiled you. Don’t you remember what that means?” He looked at you with actual concern now that he knew you were serious. As if you had been injured and you were speaking a different language.
“It means we will be safe from Hybern when they come here to look for Elain. Isn’t that the point?” You wrapped an arm around her small shoulders and pulled her close. Az couldn’t argue with that. The other courts were not an option, as it would be harboring a target against one of the Night court Allies. And Winter court was nowhere to be spending the night. Not many survived the night there without shelter.
Rhys’ sigh was long and exhausted. Left without another option, he nodded to himself. He held out a hand and summoned two necklaces, both with pendants of black onyx that shimmered in the firelight. Az’s brows pinched together at the sight of them. The dull glow behind him shone through his wings, highlighting all the delicate structures there. You found his wings more beautiful than the enchanted stone Rhys handed you.
“Hybern won’t be able to sense your magic. Keep these on.”
Azriel was already tensing, his fists balling at his sides ready to make it physical if Rhys refused to listen. He knew with his entire being that something was off. Something would go wrong this night. His shadows warned him of something. And he couldn’t shake it no matter how hard he tried. “Rhys-”
“And you will be going with them. Keep them company while Feyre and I investigate just how many ships and forces they plan to bring.” He ordered in that indisputable tone of the high lord. With only a hint of friendliness. He gave Az a long look before turning back to you and Elain. “Do not take those off.” The nodded to the necklaces and started to winnow. Elain stood abruptly, startling you.
“Thank you.” She said softly to the high lord. He seemed taken aback for a second, before giving her a gracious nod and finally disappearing. You rose to Elain’s height and took her hand in yours. It was warm, welcoming. “We’re going to be fine.” You promised, not caring if Azriel saw the care you gave her. She had been there for you just as you needed to be now. She had practically kept you alive with her soft humming and reading to you when you were at your worst after being exiled.
“I know.” She said, voice soft as rose petals. But that dark power within her were the thorns of that pretty, perfect rose. The reason Hybern even knew to look in Velaris for Elain. That cauldron calling power that she couldn’t control to save her life. You grimly smiled at her.
“We need to leave.” Azriel ordered, tone neutral. Just a warrior needing to move troops.
“Let me get your bag.” Elain said, giving you a squeeze of her hand, disappearing up the stairs. Leaving you with the brooding Illyrian. You grimaced in his direction. He ignored you as best he could, hoping that the time for babysitting would pass quickly. He had always found it strange how you and Elain moved like magnets together. Found the soft way you comforted each other somehow upsetting. He paced quietly in front of the fire while you gathered your gear. Two small blades - one for Elain - and your sword. You rubbed at a speck on the hard steel of the sword.
Perhaps his lack of family had made that rivaling jealousy turn into hatred for the display of affection. He contemplated to himself. Had he become cold to everyone? Too harsh? Had the darkness he possessed taken him over? He tore his eyes from your short sword and locked them with yours. The thrill he felt wasn’t from anger or terror. His cheeks flushed slightly and you fought the grin that you wanted so badly to flaunt at him. The innuendos regarding the sword that you wanted to say were cut off by that look he gave you.
“Do not get into a situation where you have to use that.” He warned with a stern look. You couldn’t help the angelic smile you gave him.
+
The smell of rotting apples and decaying leaves was all you needed to sense to know you were home. You took in the court border slowly, adjusting to your orientation after being winnowed. Elain clutched your hand tightly, the bag in her other hand quivered only slightly from her shaking. Your hands became slick with sweat at the familiar sights and smells of Autumn. You hadn’t been back since being exiled.
“We wont be able to have a fire.” Azriel stated, gazing towards the sky. It was far too clear of a day out to risk it. The slight chill in the air filled your stomach with dread for the night to come.
“This way.” You pulled Elain along with you, leaves crunching under your feet as you entered Autumn court. She didn’t move. Her eyes were blank, staring lifelessly into the orange and yellow forest. “Elain?” You asked softly.
“Five foxes will die tonight. Three more in the morning.”
Her words sent a chill down your spine.
Az took the lead, territoriality putting himself a few paces in front of you. He wasn’t subtle about it either, occasionally jogging ahead to scout for any enemies around piles of bramble when you came across it.
By the time you found your hideout, you were fed up with waiting for him to give you the all clear everywhere you went. You let you go of Elains now calm hand and stormed into the small shack with familiarity. Azriel hissed and seethed when you lit a lantern inside. “Get over yourself, Shadowsinger.” You laughed, taking in the small piece of home you made for yourself long ago.
It indeed was a long time ago when you’d last been there. But it still felt homey to you. The small space was just big enough for a stove, the table you’d found, and a bed pushed against the far wall. The fireplace hadn’t been used in years. Soot marked small animal prints along the light plank floors.
The dusty blankets on the makeshift bed were pocked with holes from mice and moths. The fireplace was nearly caved in on itself. The bramble covering that acted like a second roof was growing through the actual roof in some places. But it was still home. Your small exit from the world when things got too tough. Even after being exiled Beron hadn’t known about this place. He would have had it destroyed if he did know of it.
Elain pushed in passed Azriel. His shadows went wild. Searching every surface of the cabin. The long beams of the floor were hardly visible through the darkness he brought.
+
You knew you should have brought more blankets. You held back the teeth chattering as best you could, letting Elain sleep. She would need all the rest she could get. You could tell she’d been tired after the days walk. She rested peacefully under the layers while the wind shuddered the leaves outside. You pulled your coat tighter to your body.
“This was a stupid idea.” Azriel muttered from the corner. He didn’t seem cold, but the dark curls of shadow wrapped around him protectively. While you were left with nothing more than a coat. Your own magic couldn’t save you from the stormy wind, the necklace Rhys had given you also weakened your power enough that you couldn’t use it. Even in your homeland. It bothered you endlessly, feeling so useless in such a dire situation of needing to help Elain.
“Then maybe you should just leave.” You barked back simply. He didn’t have to come in the first place if he was going to be so bothered.
“I just mean-” He sighed, and sat on the creaky old table that took up half the small kitchenette. “We could have done this better. We could have planned… Differently.”
“We didnt have the time. We’re here now, so we just need to deal-”
“I know that. I’m just bothered that you’re so recklessly looking for danger everywhere we go.”
“What the hell is that supposed to mean? I’m from here Azriel. I know what areas are dangerous.”
“Maybe once.” His eyes were not angry when he said it. They were full of pity and doubt. Your rage spilled over, and you were ready to shout. Ready to scream at him about what a piggish idiot Illrian he was being. But Elain turned over, sighing softly to herself.
So instead, you clamped down on that burning anger and walked out. And of course he decided to try to follow you. He made it a few steps outside the cabin before you turned on him, ready to roar. “Be safe at least.” He tossed his red jeweled dagger to you. Your heart squeezed, choking you up slightly. You brushed it away as best you could before he could see. You couldn’t yell at him.
So you took the dagger and walked briskly away, into the brush of autumn forests. Laced with the smell of heavy fruits and warm trees. Leaves fluttering in your wake as the wind tossed with ease.
You held his knife close at your side the entire aimless walk. Then, the sound of twigs snapping and males laughing heartily made you pause.
Far to your east was a dull glow beyond a knoll. You backed away slowly. Trying to be as soundless as possible in case they could scent you. The breeze whipped at your skin, blowing in their direction. The trees above you shuddered sharply, and you swore as a heavy weight fell upon your shoulders.
+
Azriel paced in the kitchenette, his shadows swirling around him relentlessly, waiting for a target. It felt wrong letting you go. It felt like letting his hope sink. His shadows even seemed upset about it, as they now whipped around him angrily.
He swore he was going to run a rut through the plank floor. He sighed, glanced to Elain’s sleeping figure and forced himself to sit. You had the dagger. You were capable. You knew the area and knew what you were doing. He tried his best to soothe himself. It didn’t help much.
The old chair creaked under his weight, and he smiled. For someone who claimed they couldn’t work around the house, you were quite the crafter making such a nice hideaway for yourself. He finally took a moment to pause, and actually look at the cabin.
The stove may have been older than he was. The missing burners on top were replaced with a few forks placed carefully around them. The ancient shelves were dusty, along with all the jars and cups atop them. Cobwebs spotted the entire house, but his shadows had gotten rid of most of them after the first one clung to his face upon walking in.
Then he came to the table he sat at, the four unmatching chairs circling it. The table itself was solid oak, he could tell that much. But he wondered how you’d gotten it inside at all. Out of curiosity, he pulled on it. It didn’t budge. His eyebrows knitted together, and he stood slowly. The curiosity consumed him. He gave the table another tug. Still, no movement.
He crouched down, and noticed the planks around the single leg of the table had been cut out. Then he noticed the intricate roots weaving their way up the trunk. The table wasn’t just a table. It was an entire tree - or what was a tree once… And you’d built the entire cabin around it. His awe was quickly quieted by Elain.
“A part of you is missing. The foxes will die.” She muttered sleepily, her eyes blank. And he lay back down as if it hadn’t happened. “Elain?” Azriel called. Dread, cold and stinging coarse through him. “Elain?” He asked quietly, approaching her side. She flung the covers from her lithe body. Azriel jumped back, holding his hands up defensively. “It’s okay, its me.” He calmed her, noting the wild look in her expression.
“Find yourself.” She breathed, her eyes going wide with concern. Azriel’s heart sped, and he felt like he’d been dunked in a cold ocean of dread. Terror drug him under the deep waves and threatened to drown him the first chance it got. He took Elains hand and started walking the direction you’d left.
Leaving behind the supplies and the living table that you’d created.
+
A glance at the oversized uniforms told you all you needed to know. The fox sigil pinned to their tunics proved that the uniforms were stolen from Autumn soldiers. Your blood boiled. Elain had been right. But they would die. Five of them, at least. But you had only glimpsed at three so far. You tugged at the ropes that bound you. Firm, and not able to be broken.
Their campsite was large, and full of small boxes of different fruits. Several different types of weapons leaned against their low lying tents. And with how many scars their fae leader had, you knew the rest of their story in an instant. Bandits. Filthy trade merchants that lived for thievery and making a quick gold mark.
And you’d be worth their weight in gold once they turned you in to Beron.
“We’ve got a live one!” The male shouted to his comrades. They cheered drunkenly, their voices carried far by the wind. Their fire sparked and popped against the blue night sky. And you knew that your death may not come in glory of battle, or in the name of your home. But in being stupid enough to be caught by bandits. You could have died that instant if it would mean you didn’t have to feel that kind of shame.
The male cut the opal from your neck, and you felt your magic explode from you. Your thoughts were racing, searching. Finding something cold and dark in the depths of your mind and tugging on it. Then, it was a live beast beneath your mental hands. It coiled and rose, ready to strike.
The same one cut a long line down your cheek with the blade that had just cut your only protection against Hybern from you. You prayed to the mother that Hybern was too busy to notice a small blip of magic from an Autumn fae like you. You hissed in pain as the blade stung its way down to your neck, stopping at your collarbone.
You pulled on that coiling beast that called to you. Beckoned it to find you, to help you from this pain. Maybe you were begging for death, or at least unconsciousness so you wouldnt have to feel the pain anymore. The male stood back to let another scaled lower fae get a look at you. His tongue lashed out over your bloodied neck. He hummed in approval, letting his forked wetness slither across your wounds.
You felt them seal and itch with every pass as he took your blood. “Good.” the one with the blade ordered, then… to your dread, he pulled a glowing rod from the fire. They would brand you. Then take you to the high lord. Only after they’d humiliated you though. The males clucked at your involuntary reaction. They huddled close around, waiting for the screaming to start. Their excitement coated the air with a tangy adrenaline filled scent.
You reared away from the burning metal as best as you could. The ropes around you seemed weaker now that you had your weak magic back, but still too constricting to do much with.
You closed your eyes as the glow approached your chest. It warmed your face with the heat. They were going slow on purpose. Wanting to savor your reaction. It made your stomach go queasy. You hoped you would pass out. Better yet, just die of the agony. That way Beron wouldn’t have the satisfaction of killing you himself.
There was a thump, and sizzling. You cracked open your eyes, waiting that searing pain to hit you. But it didnt. The males stood back, bewildered. Across the camp in the dull glow of the fire as the one that had been lowering the branding stick to you. It was speared through his chest, pinning him to a tree. His mouth gasped, eyes wide and glowing a haunting orange from the fire. You would never forget the sight of it. The smoldering that came from the tree behind him as the hot iron burned into it. The wet sounds of his mouth opening and closing.
Then, the gasp and thump each male that Azriel incapacitated before you. Elain stood at the edge of the trees, her eyes still puffy from sleep. Azriel kept the kills quiet and concise. None resembled the one pinned to the tree, now sagging under the weight of death. No, the rest of them had easy deaths at the hands of one skilled at dealing killing blows. The wet splatter of blood leaving a body pulled you back to the scene in front of you. Az’s scowl as he cleaned his blade was that of a warrior who had seen much worse. Done much worse.
“I told you not to fucking-” He snarled, his hands on the rope at your wrists. He stopped though, and stared. The shadowed light of his eyes seemed to be blooming with awe. You couldn’t look away. The beauty in the deep irises, the way small freckles played about his dark skin. All new and exciting things you’d never noticed before. His scent alone was like a punch to the gut.
Him. Azriel. It had been him to find you. Him to respond to that silent plea that you so badly needed to be heard. He was that coiling darkness that had saved you. Your breath was a gasp, and you nearly fell to your knees before him.
+
His hands didn’t work anymore. The world stopped turning all together. His heart was no longer his own and his soul belonged wherever you were. It didn’t matter that you were in the middle of a foreign court’s borders. It didn’t matter that Elain trembled in the corner of the clearing. He was yours, and you were his.
He vowed it, for eternity that was how it would stay. He’d never leave your side again. Never choose to be without you for as long as he may be alive. His very being was now shared. With you. His soul intertwined your yours, wrapping delicately around your earthy light that contrasted his darkness so perfectly. If you were the sun he was the moon, always chasing, always following and living in your light.
The words weren’t needed but he managed to utter them. Around a shuddering breath and a shattering explosion of love he managed it. “My mate.”

Wild’s Journey
@rhythmicreality @tortilla-of-courage
... Yeah I decided to post this.
So, this it what happened to Wild and his tiny fluffy baby wings.
Also hey! Tag list!
-----------------------------
Link couldn’t remember a time without wings.
He couldn’t remember a lot of things, but that’s not the point here.
When he woke up, a woman’s voice softly urging him to open his eyes, he didn’t immediately know they were there. The liquid (water?) drained from the pool he was laying in and he sat up completely dry. He swung his legs over the side to get out and froze at the feeling of something fluttering on his back.
He reached back there, running his fingers along his shoulders. It took him a moment to realize that they were a part of him, and he grew confused as to why he wouldn’t know that. He knew his feet were part of him, why not these soft, fluffy things on his back?
He pushed it aside when the woman started talking again, figuring that if there was a reason then he’d figure it out.
The worn clothing he’d found in the chests didn’t accommodate the fluffy things, which he had a feeling were wings by now, and so for the first long stretch of his time on the Great Plateau they were pressed uncomfortably between skin and fabric.
He tried jumping off a cliff when the Old Man said he couldn’t make it off the Plateau without dying. The Old Man was right. His wings were too small to fly, and if he jumped then he would die.
The warm doublet had holes for his wings. It itched and made him sweat a little easier, but it had holes for his wings. No more feathers between skin and fabric and getting ruffled and rubbed uncomfortably. He did not take it off until he got something else.
Impa had laughed when she saw his wings, which made him ruffled and caused his wings to puff up. Impa and Paya both thought it made him look cute, which only really made him more ruffled.
Impa did apologize, and directed him to a shop in the village that would modify clothing to accommodate his wings. She told him of what happened, and who to talk to.
Purah was thrilled by his wings, and took a picture of them with his repaired Slate so he could see them. A soft greyish brown, with little bits of blue in them. She said that they’d be really pretty when they fully came in. He didn’t understand that, and Purah sent him back to Impa.
Impa did explain. Apparently, at the end of their first quest, since some had many, the Hero and Princess who beat back the evils would gain wings. It explained why he was the only one with wings. Apparently when he died, and also he died and wasn’t THAT a shock, his wings had begun to come in, but by placing him in the Shrine of Resurrection it seemed to have halted that process. Purah seemed to believe that at some point, likely after he rescued Zelda, his wings would finish coming in.
He got himself a new outfit, this time comfortable and with holes for his wings, and headed on his way.
He got dragged into Zora’s domain, and met Sidon, who didn’t notice the wings until after his father pointed out who Link was. After that, Sidon got really excited, and spent a moment cooing over Link’s wings.
Link, finding his enthusiasm sweet and rather cute, for as much as a ten foot tall shark man could be cute, fluttered his wings.
Sidon was thrilled about that.
Muzu caved the second Link put on the tunic. It was hard to argue who it could be for when Mipha had specifically tailored slits for his wings.
He got the shock arrows from the lynel, and he joined Sidon in fighting Ruta to free it and Mipha, someone Link barely remembered but knew had loved him dearly. She had planned to propose after all.
Mipha also thought his wings were cute, and, though he was still ruffled, found he wasn’t as mad when she said it. He thought he might have missed her a lot.
Her grace in hand, he headed for Death Mountain.
He made a stop on his way in Akkala, locating the Robbie that Purah mentioned. The man was, eccentric, and Link couldn’t find the source of that sound that played for effect when he spoke occasionally. It bothered him. The man was helpful though, and offered up a few more thoughts on Link’s wings.
Link didn’t stay long, intent on saving the rest of the friends he couldn’t remember.
He had to hide his wings on Death Mountain as well. The feathers caught fire too easily. This was annoying.
Yunobo was great though, and when Link downed a flamebreak potion once so he could stretch his wings, Yunobo thought they were fascinating. He treated them with so much care and gentleness, like he thought he’d break them or something. It was sweet.
Daruk had laughed, said he was finally growing into his role. He also thought Link’s wings were downright adorable, and Link was only mildly put out by that phrasing.
The Korok forest was adorable, and Link loved the koroks. They loved him too, and he let them preen his wings when they asked because of how excited they were. It was really cute.
It was also the cleanest his wings had been since he woke up.
He had been excited to meet the Rito, they were after all bird people. They had wings too. He hoped that maybe, when his wings came in fully, they’d teach him how to fly.
Teba was an asshole. He was also stubborn and determined, and willing to throw down with a Divine Beast. As someone also stubborn and determined and willing to throw down with a Divine Beast, Link could respect that.
He made a note to come back to the flight range when his wings came in for practice.
Revali, once free, had laughed at how small Link’s wings were at first, making Link really upset that he couldn’t punch a ghost. Then Revali softened up, just for a second, and said that Link’s wings would be gorgeous when they came in, and that he was impressed. Then he went back to being a self-entitled jerk.
It was okay though, Link forgave him. Even if he was still bitter about being unable to punch a ghost.
The only place left was Gerudo Desert, and Link found his first issue in the form of being a man. He did meet a woman who sold him an outfit to disguise himself as a woman so he could sneak in.
(And if he, as he wandered the streets of Gerudo Town, learned that he sometimes wanted to be she, well, that was her business.)
Riju was very helpful. Buliara was not. And so Link found herself tasked with stealing something back from the Yiga. They needed the Thunder Helm to get to Naboris, and the Yiga stole it, so it had to be stolen back. Prove yourself, she said. Ugh.
The Yiga pissed her off. And Kogah was a joke. That was all she wanted to comment about that matter.
Riju was more than happy to lead Link right into the storm, facing down the Divine Beast with prejudice. One more, then a few more shrines and the rest of her memories.
Urbosa, once saved from the most difficult of Blights (Link wasn’t bitter, shut up), had been very happy to see him. She smiled, and said she was proud of him, and mentioned how beautiful his wings would be when they came in. She asked him to look after Zelda. And then she sent him on his way.
Link had to blink back tears before Riju met up with him again. No one had said they were proud of him yet.
Riju caught on however, and then Link was dragged back to the streets of Gerudo Town until Riju had found something for her to wear on her wings. It was good.
Not long after that, Link went back to the scene of his death, trying to remember.
Rain, mud under foot, the princess behind him. Don’t stop, keep moving, keep her safe.
A whirring, followed by light.
Link raised his shield to block, the beam shattering the already flimsy wooden shield into splinters. He stumbled, slipping on the mud and falling to one knee. The Master Sword hit the dirt to balance him. He could hear Zelda speaking to him, but through the adrenaline and exhaustion there was very little that registered.
The beeping of a tracker locking on. Link forced himself to his feet, stumbling back. He was already injured, too injured to fight. His whole body ached, but still he stood. They would not get Zelda.
And then she was in front of him, and he opened his mouth to call out to her, but froze when he actually looked at her. A glowing triangle adorned her hand, and a golden light spilled out from her. Link watched, the pressure in his shoulder blades finally easing, just a bit.
He blinked hard once. Twice. He collapsed.
Words were hard to make out, but he could sense Zelda was worried. His last clear memory was her panicked expression as his eyes slipped shut.
Link gasped. The memory left him shaking, and he dropped to his knees. That was the day he died.
He took a day, just laid in bed in his house in Hateno. He needed it, to just decompress.
He got up the next morning, traveled to a stable and saddled up a horse, and then marched off to face Ganon.
Master sword in hand, his friends raining down covering fire for him, Link faced Calamity Ganon, Zelda’s voice ringing in his ears and mind.
The first half of the fight was hard, a drain on his body and what little energy he had left after fighting his way through the castle. And then he thought it was over. Ganon was gone.
He wasn’t.
Zelda called to him, warning him that Ganon had changed himself.
Link was standing in an empty field with his horse, a monster ten times any he’d ever faced before leering down at him.
This, Dark Beast Ganon was easily the size of a Divine Beast, but made of pure malice, and looking to kill him. More so than the Divine Beasts, that is.
Zelda gave him a bow, and arrows made of light, and told him to fire on the targets.
He did.
Mounting Epona, his dear horse Epona, and taking off around the monstrous boar, he drew back the string and aimed.
He ignored the tension in his shoulders and jaw, ignored how fluffed up and quivering his wings were, ignored the shaking of his hands. The only thing that mattered in that moment was his bow and the arrows and the monster he was aiming at.
One target, two, five. Link existed just to fight and shoot and dodge.
He wasn’t fast enough, the arrow flew, and it stuck, but Ganon got in a hit too.
All of Link’s air flew out of his lungs when he hit the ground, Epona whinnying and the sound of hooves thudding away from him.
He rolled, gritting his teeth, and struggling to his feet, left hand still wrapped tightly around the Bow of Light like a lifeline. He lifted his head and met the monster’s stare.
(Looking back, he’d say he felt the pressure. He’d say he felt the release. He’d say he could feel his wings come in. He's lying everytime he does.)
Flames licked at his skin and clothes and feathers, and the monster growled at him.
‘Link! Look up there!’
Link’s eyes traveled up to the glowing, golden point on the monster’s forehead. A target.
‘That’s the very core of Ganon’s being!’ Zelda coached in his mind, and Link nodded. ‘Do what you must, Link!’
Link struggled to his feet, spitting blood from where he’d bit his tongue, and faced the monster.
Ganon roared, charging him.
Link caught an updraft and went up, and how he gained the air without his paraglider was lost on him, though barely an afterthought as he drew back his bow.
Link aimed true, and loosed the arrow with the perfect accuracy he had come to be known for.
The shockwave it caused knocked him out of the air, greyish brown feathers obscuring his vision as he tumbled through the sky and back to the ground with a harsh thud.
It took him a minute to regain his breath, and shove the soft, strong wing covering him aside, before he got a look at Zelda.
She was almost exactly as he remembered her, only bathed in a glowing, golden light, and in possession of the most beautiful set of wings he’d ever seen.
The top half of her wings were a light blue, but the bottom half were pure white. The feathers closest to her back, her secondary and tertiary feathers, were longer than the rest and seemed to flutter behind her in the soft breeze that even still moved across the field.
Link could only see her back, and he was robbed of what little breath he had left.
For a moment, just a moment, he swore he was looking at Hylia herself.
He missed what happened in the moments that followed, still struggling to reorient himself and lost in the golden glow of the princess, but he got the important part. Ganon was gone. For good.
The light faded and Link’s senses returned one by one, the adrenaline crash would be brutal, but he utilized what still lingered in his system to push himself back to his feet, standing to face the princess, to face Zelda.
He missed the first few words she said, but he understood the last question clearly.
“Do you really remember me?”
Link couldn’t stop the stupid grin that stretched across his face. He nodded.
They crashed together, a mess of limbs and wings, blue and white and greyish brown feathers fluttering to the ground around them. Link held on tight, relieved to finally, finally, have a friend from before back, grateful to have not lost everything. Zelda likely was just glad to have something, someone, solid to hold on to after so long.
He denied being surprised when Zelda commented on his wings. He denied it then and will continue to deny it to his dying day. He knew they were there. Shut up.
Zelda took a picture for him, so he could see them. Greyish brown, with a long stripe of blue down the middle of the backside from shoulder to tip, and a soft orange starting at the base of his wings on the inside and fading into the rest as they went along.
“They look like a peregrine falcon,” Zelda commented once, sitting nearby as Impa and Paya ran fingers through their wings and preened for them.
Link had just hummed, content to let it be.
Now, he just had to convince her that throwing himself off a cliff was a perfectly reasonable way to learn how to fly...

Yo yo yo! I didnt have internet for a bit and i got bored, i blacked out and this was in my copy and paste. So enjoy my little hermit fic, let me know if you want another part or something- i like writing :)
Stuck
Part 1(?)
The avian ran as fast as he could through the blindingly dark caves, arrows screeching by his ears as his only light source, a lantern, was almost knocked from his grip for what seemed like the millionth time.
Grian heard the sounds of the monsters fade as he got farther away, he glanced back before stopping. His heart was pounding and his throat was dry from how much he had been running for the past few hours. The small man then took a nearly broken pickaxe and dug into the wall, and blocking up the entrance with cobblestone, effectively giving himself a small room in the forever cold walls of the cave
Grian set down his lantern and put his back to the wall, sliding down from exhaustion and sitting on the floor. He checked himself over to see if he had any injuries, finding a arrow in his arm that finally started to sting with blistering heat
The man had bandages all over, some on his face, legs and arms due to him becoming more and more clumsy and anxious as the hours went on. Grian didnt know how long exactly he had been in the cave and he didnt know if or when he was getting out. He treated the arrow wound, wincing and making a noise when he pulls out the arrow harshly and drops it to the ground, small flicks of blood sputtering onto the cool stone floor.
He bandaged the wound and looked at how many hearts he had. The Three left were trembling as if terrified of the next hit of damage that would wipe him out. Grian then looked at his last healing potion, cringing. He had drank multiple of the magic potions. They started out sweet like apples but as time went on they became sickingly bitter on grian's tounge.. But he bit back his feelings, uncorked the potion and downed it, almost gagging at how bitter it was now.
He looked back at his hearts and saw them regenerate as he felt slightly better, there was no longer tension in his back that made his wings feel like they were thousand pound weights, the muscle of his wound weakly ached as grian pulled out his now cracked communicator as it buzzed twice with messages from the hermits. He looked at the screen to see who was saying what.
<Mumbo> Has anyone seen grian? Im wanting to talk base plans with him but i cant find him anywhere
<GoodTimeWithScar> i havent seen him at all today
<DocM77> yo G, wya?
Grian looked through the messages, seeing the hermits concerned on grian's whereabouts, asking who saw him last and if anyone knew if he was working on something.
Grian took shaking fingers and typed out a message
<Grian> I've been stuck in a cave and cant get out, sorry about that
It took bearly a second before the chat went wild with messages of concern and relief
<Mumbo> Stuck in a cave?!
<GoodTimeWithScar> oh my gosh
<Xisuma> do we need to do a rescue mission?
<DocM77> i can get the supplies
Grian smiled slightly at the chat before typing out a response
<Grian> yeah i need rescuing, just used my last health potion and im all out of food, help will be greatly appreciated
<DocM77> alright, I'll gather some things, X meet me at spawn along with anyone else that can help
<Keralis> didnt know hermits helping hermits happened on wednesday
<Xisuma> omw to spawn with some healing items
Grian looked up from his communicator as he heard noises from outside his hastily made bunker. He heard a mob die? 'No no that cant be right' he thought to himself
Grian gets up from his sitting position, picking up his lantern and creeping towards the entrance, taking out his pickaxe and breaking a block to look at what died but only found dark infection looking blocks covering the ground. Small spots were glowing like stars as he looked closer at the strange substance, breaking the other block to get out. His pickaxe broke then and there, startling him with the loud noise it made as it echoes on the walls before he sees strange tenticals in the distance light up in response to the noise.
Grian becomes curious about what these new blocks were, taking a step onto the squishy feeling blocks. The small batch of tenticals lit up again. He giggles slightly at the phenomenon and continues deeper into the infected looking caverns, looking around at the walls and floor as he stepped further and further into the cave
He eventually comes upon and dripstone cave littered with spikes that dripped with water. There was patches of the starry blocks all over the place
A buzz of his communicator breaks him out of his thoughts and he looks at the chat
<Xisuma> alright grian, give us your coords
<DocM77> G? You good?
Grian quickly types
<Grian> yeah im good sorry got distracted by some infected looking cave, my coords are -5000,-40,-60
<DocM77> whoa thats pretty far out
<Xisuma> yeah we'll be on our way dont worry
He looks around, putting his communicator on his belt loop before floating down to the bottom of the dripstone cave, looking up at the strangely pretty cavern walls. He walks around, more of the tentical patches lighting up as he stepped, finding a smaller section of the cave. His communicator buzzes again
<DocM77> wait did you say infected looking??
<Grian> yeah, its weirdly pretty
<Xisuma> What does it look like
Grian tilts his head slightly
<Grian> its slightly blue? Its very dark but has small bits that are glowing, why?
<DocM77> oh no
<Xisuma> grian dont move that is the deep dark and its very dangerous, have you activated any skulk sensors?
<DocM77> Give us your exact choords right now
<Grian> skulk? You mean the little tentical things?
<Grian> -5029,-40,-60
Grian looks around in confusion
<Xisuma> we will be there as soon as possible, try not to activate the skulk sensors
<DocM77> stand in place, G
Grian took one last glance at the communicator and listens to the two. They are the most tech savvy hermits of the server, they know what they are doing
-----------------
Grian continues to look around, every once and a while seeing a mob die and be sucked into the skulk, spreading it more. He then hears muffled voices and blocks breaking above him, his gaze shoots to the ceiling as he sees doc first.
"Grian! There you are!" Doc sounds relieved as X puts down a shulker box full of items
"Finally some actual faces!" Grian calls out happily, "the only thing I've seen here is mobs dying and also trying to kill me!"
X chuckles slightly "yeah you have been here for most of the day! You had everyone worried sick about you, you know?", doc pulls out a length of rope as X speaks
Grian looks to the side, avoiding eye contact "sorry about that.. Didnt mean to get stuck in a never ending cave", doc throws down the rope, holding the other end tightly, wrapping it in his hand for good measure "apology accepted, now lets get you out of here before we lose our little prankster" doc calls down to him
Grian grabs onto the rope, his arms ache as he attempts to climb up and he winces as his arm starts to burn under the bandage. X looks at him concerned "are you okay?" Grian looks up with slightly blurry eyes, he didnt know he was tearing up "y-yeah im fine, arm just hurts from getting hit with a arrow earlier" Doc gives a sceptical look "you sure?" Grian makes eye contact with doc "yeah i swear im f-" suddenly grian's arm gives out, causing him the plummet back down with a yelp.
He hits the ground with a loud thud that activates multiple sensors, grian winces at the flairing pain in his arm. "Grian!" Doc calls in concern, grian waves with his better arm
"its alright, im oka-" the room goes dead silent as something shrieks in the distance, grian's blood goes cold and he looks up at X who looks more terrified than concerned "X?! What was that?!" X gets closer to the man made ledge "Grian stay calm its only a shriker" grian looks around even more anxious now "shrieker?! That sounded like death itself is trying to make its way to our world!!" Doc looks at him with a slightly scared face "i know, i know, but you need to get up right now before anything happens!" grian doesn't say anything as he attempts to climb the rope again, his arm protesting heavily as he makes his second attempt.
Then they all hear something loudly emerge from the depths of the skulk, grian freezes and looks into the darkness as he hears a heartbeat and something groaning. X begins to try and pull the rope up frantically, doc catching on and joining in, trying his best to pull up the avian with X, X whisper yells to the small hermit "Grian..! Dont make any sounds and hold on okay..?"
Grian looks up at him with wide and terrified eyes and nods as the creature begins to come out of the darkness, grian brings his legs up to his chest to put as much distance between him and the creature.
Then grian's own body starts to betray him as he begins losing grip in his arm, he shoots his gaze up to X and Doc, completely terrified as he whispers "Im losing my grip again..!" Doc and X look at eachother as they try harder to pull their injured freind up, Doc whispers to grian to try and comfort him "its going to be okay, we got you..! Just a little bit more to go alright..?" Grian nods before looking at the creature below him
Grian chokes back a sob of pure fear into his sleeve as the monster starts to sniff the air. The thing was searching for him.
X whispers as he stretches out his hand "Grian..! Grab on..!" The hermit looks at him with terrified and anxious eyes, making a fatal mistake.
He attempts to grab on to X while holding on with his weak arm.
Doc's eyes widen as grian's grip fails and he falls towards the monster. Doc instinctively tries to grab the avain but fails, X lunges for the edge to try and catch grian, doc grabbing him to make sure he doesn't fall, accidentally letting go of the rope in the process.
In a quick moment everything went from bad to horribly worse as grian hit the ground and the creature imeditly reacting, roars loudly. Grian is now panicking as he frantically attempts to get away, barely able to get a hold on the ground to back away while his breathing becomes quick and he begins to hyperventilate while saying 'no' over and over to himself. His back hits a wall and he puffs his wings out to try and look bigger while he trembles.
The creature swings at him and he quickly ducks out of the way with a yelp, its fist slamming the wall seemingly shaking the entire cave, salagtites crashing to the ground in the distance, grian hears cracking from above and he quickly tries to get away,
but he was now pinned in place as a salagtite pierces his wing dead in the middle, blood imeditly begining to pool. Grian cries out in pain as he frantically tries to pull on his wing to get away from the beast that is looming over him, seemingly watch him struggle and panic as he now tries to sheild himself from more falling rocks that cut his arms and legs, grian looks up and instantaneously hit square in the face with a rock that makes blood gush from his nose and break a part of his glasses
Doc and X are frantically trying to find a way to save the distressed hermit, searching through the shulker box they brought to see if they can find anything to help to help "Grian!! We're gonna get you out of there dont worry!!" Doc yells down to the small avain, not caring about being quiet anymore
Grian's vision begins to blur and black dots start forming like paper being burned from the middle out, he feels himself stop struggling as he becomes too weak to do so, his ears are ringing loudly. He attempts to keep his strength, weakly pulling at his now mangled wing to try and free it again but nothing happens. He begins to go limp as the monster steps towards him and grabs the salagtite, his head is now resting against the cold stone flooring as he loses more and more of his vision and control over his body, he feels something be lifted off of his wing, he looks over with his last bit of strength and sees the creature taking the salagtite and getting rid of it. His head falls back to its previous position and his eyes fall closed
Grian feels himself be picked up as his broken glasses begin to fall off one side of his face, hearing the shards clatter with the ground, his wings are outstretched and limp. He feels the blood of his nose dripping as he is being seemingly carried away to a unknown place
The last thing he hears is Doc and Xisuma becoming distant as they frantically try to call his name to wake him up.
