The thing with characters and whether or not they'd be prone to jealousy is that like... What does it mean to be "prone to jealousy?" Like does being prone mean you get unreasonably jealous? That anything will set you off?
Not to mention with jealousy is that it's not just a one person thing. Jealousy is a reaction. The other half of the relationship has to be doing something that will make the other person feel jealous. And these acts of jealousy can have different... origins? Some people are just naturally friendly. Others are overly friendly and don't know their boundaries. And lastly some people purposefully act in a way that will make their partner feel jealous (probably for reassurance).
There are a lot of factors at play with jealousy and being prone to it, so it's a bit more of a complicated thing to figure out...

So like, I don't think that Kokichi would actually be the jealous one in the relationship. Like, he would act jealous, only to see Shuichi get frustrated
Shuichi, on the other hand, would get jealous easily. Not too easily, but yeah-
The jealousy is caused by his low self-esteem and it gets worst when Shuichi is feeling down
There are times where Kokichi would try and make Shuichi jealous on purpose, just to mess with him, but he would apologise soon after. Shuichi is never happy about it, so he ignores him for the rest of the day.

i read the wigmaker job recently and there’s an idea that really stuck with me, which may well have been discussed before, but it’s really been itching at me. it came from this exchange near the end –
“i don't want to quit.” / illario sat back. the distance between them suddenly felt much wider than a table. / “even if it kills you,” illario whispered. / “death is my calling,” lucanis stated, matter-of-fact. “just as yours is to become first talon.”
(the bits before and after this give important context, too, but these specific lines are what gnaw at me)
i. really wonder if this conversation – and the long-standing beliefs held by both of them that it’s indicative of – contributed to giving lucanis to zara.
like, illario coming to terms with the fact that lucanis really just will. not. stop. for ANYTHING. his cousin WILL get himself killed doing this and lucanis won’t have any regrets. he’ll leave illario to go this alone. (no one to follow after anymore.) combined with the envy of knowing that lucanis is and always will be caterina’s favorite, and she will likely pick lucanis to be first talon even tho lucanis does not want this At All…
i wonder if he thought that, well, if lucanis is going to die anyway… maybe it’s better to have it happen sooner, rather than later. why put off the inevitable? especially if this is the one thing that could shift caterina’s gaze to illario and give him what he’s wanted – what he’s earned.
lucanis wouldn’t be happy as first talon anyway (honestly, illario seems to see that what lucanis is NOW isn’t so much ‘happy’ as it is ‘obedient and content to accept the scraps that gives him’), and he’s GOING to get himself killed doing this, anyway… and sure, they COULD wait it out. wait for lucanis to do something foolish enough that he can't just walk away from it. maybe he’ll even last long enough to be made first talon (if caterina can ever bear to loosen her grip from the title) and be miserable for a while. years even, maybe. before he, again, does something he can’t walk away from.
OR. or. or illario could cut through all the pointless waiting and get right to the point. go straight to where this was always going to end up.
(and maybe part of it is an extension of anticipated grief, too – the loss will be agony. if illario controls when and how it happens, he can control his grief. …except he hasn’t accepted the inevitability of lucanis’ death quite as well as he’d thought and when he gets sloshed at the wake, real grief seeps through the cracks)
i dunno. something about both of them viewing lucanis’ death as a foregone conclusion and how illario Might have had that shape his decisions.
Tumblr media
YEAH . YEAHHHHH. i do also think the “to reason” exchange is what solidifies it in illario’s mind. lucanis is like 'this has been a productive if tense talk with my cousin. surely he sees sense now.' and illario is like ‘what the fuck. i think he wants to die’ <- okay im exaggerating a bit but i do absolutely see the end of wigmaker’s job as the start of lucanis-illario’s downward spiral. there’s a reason that it’s something lucanis is stuck on during inner demons, and the exchange that you have very nicely broken down is what he hears echoes of, this is where he knows it started to go wrong
probably the worst part is lucanis WOULD have worked himself to death and it takes the series of events in veilguard for lucanis to see other options for his life, and still he ends up being shoehorned into first talon by the end of the quest. i thought his quest would parallel iron bull’s, in that rook shows them that living outside and away from crow influence is possible, and that he is much more than the weapon they turned him into, but it ofc doesn’t go through like that. it’s genuinely a bit heartbreaking that lucanis finally has support and like. FRIENDS. but with the way the game ends he’s pulled back into the crows and to a life that will be about protecting a cousin that the organisation he runs hates, and for as long as caterina lives, unable to say no to her. and meanwhile after lucanis has made connections outside of the crows, illario has absolutely nothing left (prison of his own making i get it but i still want to get his ass out of there. 😭) so the codependency that they used to share is gone as well. maybe lucanis has a foot out the door but i genuinely have no idea how illario goes on after this

yk giving percy a roman sister would've actually been a GREAT addition, if only it didn't go against poseidon's loyalty towards sally which is super meaningful in the pjo books...

Do you have any tips for writing Felix? I've been writing a sentitwins fic where he's the main focus, and I keep wondering if I can get his characterisation right, like making him too mean or not mean enough, if that makes sense?
I do, actually!!! Thank you for giving me an opportunity to talk about the boy!!! 💜🦚
Obviously, this is just one way to write him — the Felix corner of the fandom is full of wonderfully talented people who all portray him a little differently. I highly recommend going through their works on AO3 to find the characterisation you resonate the most with (I have bookmarked my favourites here)!
The way I see it, Felix is intimidating to write not because he is a very complicated character, but because of the “delayed” way his real personality was introduced to us. Obviously, there’s the issue of his debut episode, which plants the seeds for a lot of his later actions (ex: he immediately tries to strike a deal with Hawkmoth, which we later understand was not to get the twin rings back, but rather to obtain the Peacock) while also introducing plot elements that don’t fit quite well with the later seasons (ex: Felix and Amelie’s obsession with the twin rings, which seems completely decorrelated from Adrien’s amoks at this point). I tend to think of S3 Felix as a first draft of the character we know today — it’s possible to retroactively find a watsonian explanation for many of his behaviours, including that unfortunate scene with Ladybug, but I don’t think it’s the most interesting episode to work from if you want to understand his character.
To me, things get really interesting (and consistent) starting from Gabriel Agreste (S4 E9). There, we get our first proper look at a few of Felix’s personality traits, namely:
He’s smart!
He sees knowledge as power. As such, he will do anything to uncover the secrets around him — while also keeping his own close to his chest.
He’s resilient to a frightening degree, which is best illustrated by his little akuma rejection speech: “I’m not afraid of your threats, and I don’t need your powers.” This is our first real hint that the adults in his life have subjected him to threats and manipulation before and that he’s had it. No one can get him to doubt himself anymore! Unfortunately, this is also what makes him so certain he is on the right path, all the way up to Emotion…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that’s where it gets a little complicated: one of the most frequent complaints you’ll see about Felix is that his characterisation starting from Emotion is not consistent with what we saw in S3 and S4. “How can he say he loves Adrien, when he’s pushed him under the bus so many times?” “Why does he suddenly care about this girl he’s just met??” “Who’s to say he wouldn’t turn evil again at the drop of a hat???” (S6 please don’t)
Tumblr media
But… all of this actually makes a lot of sense when you consider Felix as a child abuse survivor, something we don’t even brush on until Pretension and only fully dive into in Representation. His entire life, Felix has been punished for simply existing — so he’s not going to show his true colours to other characters, nor to us, the audience, from the get-go. He’s been consistently cut off from the people he loves the most, likely even made to hurt them on multiple occasions — so he’s not going to be openly warm and friendly, even when he actually cares. He has one objective, to build a better world for himself and Adrien, a world where he can show us who he truly is — but until then, he’s going to keep his personality where he keeps the brooch: close to his chest. He’s going to do whatever it takes to survive, including pushing his cousin/twin/brother under the bus (something that unfortunately happens a lot between siblings who grow up in abusive environments), with the confidence that this immediate damage won’t matter in the long run. That it will all be worth it in the end.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because the Felix who is open about his secret identity from the get-go; who tells Kagami, and even Marinette, about the Sentilore so quickly; who flirts and sings and declares his love, both romantic and platonic, with all the flare of a peacock; who openly mocks his abusers; who draws hearts on windows; who gets all that nice golden/sun symbolism I love so much — that’s who Felix truly is! A child who braved the horrors, and is now free to show us all the passion for life he has in his little heart. Look how happy he was to offer this new world to Adrien! Look how head over heels he is for Kagami! Look how soft he is with Duusu! Look how tender his relationship with Amelie has been from the get-go, because she is the one character who’s always had his back!
Not that he can’t still be wary of other characters, of course — but if he can be part of the Miraculers now, and not back in Strikeback, it’s because of what he has secured for himself in the meantime.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The issue, of course, is The Secret. We haven’t really gotten a chance to see how Felix is faring in this new world, with the threat of Tomoe still looming over Kagami and the persistence of his estrangement with Adrien. It’s very possible he’ll be Marinette’s best ally, because hey, if anyone understands lying to protect Adrien, it’s him; but it’s equally possible he resents her for forcing him back into his lies. To say nothing of what happened in Werepapas! S6 could take Felix’s arc in a number of ways, which I’m both excited and scared about. In the meantime, we get to explore these paths ourselves!
TL;DR: To determine how mean your Felix should be, you first need to determine how safe it is for him to be kind. Never forget that he is starved for love and light and happiness and that he will do this at the first occasion:
Tumblr media
The question is: will you let him? 🪶

I refuse to go into more detail, but, I will no longer hold my tongue. my biggest gripe with this fandom is the way a majority of it erases Lo'ak's actual trauma and struggles (with his identity, his father/family, his clan, etc), and essentially gives him Spider's traumas/struggles in some idealized form (whether for over the top and oversimplified "hurt/comfort" scenarios, or max woobification), while absolutely dragging and/or ignoring Spider's entire character and the realistic depictions of those traumas and what that does to a kid.
like I can't exactly put words to it or go into a deep analytical post, but I've been thinking about it, and some other stuff I've seen online have been making me think about it.
stop doing a disservice to both of my boys. they both have such interesting and complex stories and you're ruining it!!!

the pastel wearing, black American child vampiress arrives in Paris. walk optimistic. mind guarded. she's prideful. and strong. and wicked. fierce, she says. she's successful. more successful than any other actor or actress has been during the Théâtre des Vampires' run. five hundred shows. she hates it. she underperforms while on stage. she expresses her distaste where others self flagellate and cower. they hate her. they stuff her inside the rat box. just her. all she ever wanted from them was comradery. a place to belong. and they stuffed her into the fucking rat box.

Got a Breakdown centric/kobd fanfic idea and wanted to write down the summary for later use
After the first acounter with Silas Breakdown actually gets to bond with Bulkhead for a moment and Bulkhead seeing his old partner is still there decides to try rekindle their bond offering sparing sesions for starters. Breakdown obliviously refuses (he's no traitor) but getting back on Nemesis he starts to question himself. He already is a nuisence to the decepticons, he has nothing to offer other than his strength and project Breakdown showed he's not even good at that. Getting to train more wouldn't be that bad.. after all decepticons never give him any classified informations for autobots to steal and if he was killed it wouldn't be a big lose. Breakdown starts meeting up with Bulkhead and their old friendship starts to blossom once again. He's not doing anything wrong, he's just sparing. It's not like any of his superiors care about what he does, now that he lose to a human.
Accept there IS one bot that cares and he is not pleased.
Basically Breakdown getting friends and Knockout losing his shit.
Relationships: Breakdown & Bulkhead, Breakdown/Knockout, past Breakdown/Bulkhead, mentioned Bulkhead/Wheeljack,
Warnings: mentions of torture, acts of violence, toxic relationship dynamics, yandere(?) Behaviour
To clarifie, altrought Knockout might be a little bit antagonized here, he is not a villain. He just doesn't know how to handle some emotions that he's not used to. Which is pretty fair considering he almost lost his husband. Breakdown still loves him for it. Just wants to be more appreciated.

Sirius : prongs!
James*looking up from whatever he was doing, giving Sirius his complete attention * : yes?
Sirius : do you think I might be heterophobic?
James : pads, don't you mean homophobic?
Sirius : no, I don't have problems with homosexuals, it's js that, I saw moony snogging a girl, and I felt really uncomfortable and wanted to slap the girl
James : *long suffering sigh* pads, have you perhaps considered the emotion, "jealousy"?

Bucktommy this, bommy that, have you considered Tommy is interested in Eddie and doesn't realize he's already dating a woman?
Consider:
Tommy was supposed to be Lucy
Tommy only wanted to hang out with Eddie and didn't quite consider Buck on the same level as Eddie
It would be really funny if Eddie had three people who want him but aren't getting all of him.
