a ramble on the influencer arc :)

i think one thing that we all can agree on regarding green's arc, is how uncomfortable the videos are getting the longer green's channel goes on

which, even if its obvious i feel like thats 100% intentional

in my opinion, i feel like the point of all this is that its supposed to be uncomfortable to us, its supposed to make us feel like 'is this going on too far ?'

because, that's the point

how many times can you go on youtube, and from the super, big, obvious content farming youtubers do you see and either think 'this is obviously clickbait' or 'this is obviously too far of an idea'

i think green's arc is reflecting the state of how youtube is nowadays, and not only that but the whole obvious idea of how fame can truly change someone

speaking on how fame can change someone, im going to bring up green's 'eating grass' video

that was uncomfortable to watch, we can all agree on that

and honestly, if you think about it, you'd probably think 'thats so stupid, i would never eat grass for a bit'

and honestly, between the first two videos on green's channel, if you asked him to eat grass when he had give or take 200 subscribers, he wouldn't do it

but with around 500k people, if making a video suffering for a few seconds of eating grass meant you had the chance to get some numbers next to a like button and a few dozen comments, you'd probably atleast consider it, which is what green did

and also, we all rightfully hate on green, rightfully so, he's being a jerk to his friends

but we, as viewers are also not innocent

with every click of a video, every time we press a like button, everytime we comment either validating green or telling him 'this is too much', its still all numbers with a sprinkle of validation here and there to him

with every comment on green's short, saying 'i'll do whatever you guys want me to !!', how many of the comments told him to eat grass for our own entertainment ?

every video since the minecraft vlog has been because of us viewers

Trying to figure out how I wanna draw the Contestant outfit from Finding Frankie, minus the mask because it's chunky and hard to draw, my current ideas are;

Flat patterned jumper with a bunny eared hood, no tie shoes, fingerless gloves, (face mask optional)

Onsee with a black body suit underneath, tiny red lace ribbon, no shoes, bunny ear headband (tiny top hat part optional)

T-Shirt with a bow stuck to it, black arm warmers and thigh high socks, red shorts (like Real Frankie), Sneakers, lucky rabbit's foot keychain, top hat (rabbit ears in brim optional)

I dunno I wanted the outfit to be cute.

hello. I have a character with a port wine stain on their cheek and side of their face. They are a racecar driver and therefore have to wear a helmet for safety reasons. They are very open about their facial difference and on their helmet there is a replication of their birthmark as well as a triangle motif based on both the fact that they like the number 3 and also on a vaguely triangular spot on the birthmark.

I’m just worried about this falling into the mask trope and was so excited to make a driver OC that I didn’t think about the implications it could have

It's perfectly fine if your character is wearing something that covers their face in this context. It's like a character with a face difference who's also a surgeon, a knight, an astronaut, or any other profession that requires they cover their face in certain contexts. Those don't fall under the mask trope unless you make them covering their face about their face difference (such as if she wears the helmet all of the time to cover her face rather than just wearing it during a race.) What you're doing is fine.

Also, I like the symbolism on the helmet. It's something that makes her unique and recognizable and rather than hiding it, she's embracing it. I love that.

If I got my most recent vaccine in Febuary of this year, am I still up to date?

Absolutely not. There's a six-month maximal for what immune protection the vaccines provide, and beyond that is the risk of immune escape with new variants (something the latest strains have become very good at). You gotta do more than just vax and relax too. The vaccine is a life vest that makes you less likely to die when you're thrown overboard (get infected with covid.) Masking, air filtration, testing, and distancing when possible help you to remain on deck (uninfected) in the first place. The more people who take these measures, the safer you and everyone are. Covid vaccines as they exist now don't do much to prevent infection and do even less to prevent spread. Mask up.
