Okay I've got an AU idea that I know is based off a post I saw one time but I don't want to go looking for it bc frankly I don't even remember where I saw it

But basically Ed is a tailor/dressmaker and Stede is a well off semi-retired business man who does like accounting for small nonprofits these days or something. And also they're both trans men.

And one day, Stede walks in to Ed's shop and says "my father is insisting that I wear a dress to my cousin's wedding this summer so that I do not embarrass him in front of our entire family."

And Ed looks at this man- built like a brick house with a little bit of stubble and wearing a finely tailored suit- and almost wonders if this is some sort of joke, until he spots the tiny trans flag pin on Stede's jacket. He meets Stede's eyes, both of them wearing the most mischievous grins, and says "alright mate, let's pick you out the prettiest dress we can find."

Over the course of however long it takes to pick out and tailor a dress, the two of them bond. Stede tells Ed that he hasn't actually seen his father in 10 years, which is presumably why he seems to think that Stede will blend in better in a dress than a suit. He invites Ed to come along as his plus one if he feels comfortable, warning him that most of his family will be expecting him to show up with his (now ex) wife. They're halfway to married by the time the wedding actually comes around

Stede shows up in a beautiful teal summer dress, expertly tailored to fit his broad shoulders and flat chest. Ed opts for a slightly more toned down look of a suit coat and matching skirt.

Stede's father is pissed. His cousin, thankfully, finds it really funny. She asks if either of them wants to stand with the girls when she throws the bouquet. Ed says yes, and ends up catching it.

On the drive home, Ed cannot stop thinking about wedding dresses

I've seen a lot of discourse about Gwen in Across the Spider-Verse and whether or not she's trans, and one thing I keep seeing that frustrates me is people calling it "queerbaiting" because they never directly say Gwen is transgender in the film, arguing that it's "drip-feeding representation" and that the creators "should've done better".

It really annoys me to see people talk like this bc it shows that they very blatantly do not know how the entertainment industry works, how censorship boards and studio mandates handle these things.

A few years ago, Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsch posted a video showing some of the emails he got from Disney Channel's Standards and Practices board, and some of the completely wild shit they took issue with. They legit demanded that a reference to "spin the bottle" be removed because they thought it implied that the teenagers were having orgies, or that Mabel not call someone a "poopy face" because it came across as a reference to "getting shitfaced" (a slang term for getting drunk, for anyone where that term isn't used). Even a character wearing an animal mascot suit was a point of contention because they thought it was a reference to furries and a character dressing up like a cartoon animal was going to corrupt the kiddies. Things that absolutely no reasonable person would care about were treated with the same level of gravity as if they'd had the kids saying the fuck word and giving the middle finger.

(And that's not even mentioning how Alex wanted to include gay characters in the show but the best he got to manage is the two cops vaguely saying they're "in love" in a way that could easily be read as just them being friends, in one of the last scenes of the final episode, after he'd already decided he was done working with Disney and was jumping ship to a different company after GF was over; at that point, it was just a matter of "What are you gonna do? Fire me?")

Steven Universe had to fight for years to get the Garnet wedding they so desperately wanted... and basically as soon as they did it, they were cancelled and given five episodes to conclude a story arc that was meant to go for at least another season, if not longer. The Movie and Future basically only happened due to the Crewniverse fighting for enough of a continuation to give the series a proper ending + strong fan reception to Season 5; Ian has made it clear on Twitter several times that the crew wants to make more Steven Universe, but the show that got famous for including queer themes being EXPLICITLY queer is too extreme for CN and they refuse to let it keep going.

Am I saying that Spider-Verse is the paragon of representation and that it couldn't possibly be done better? No, of course not. Am I saying people shouldn't want more than little easter-eggs that hint at representation? No, no way, that'd be ridiculous.

But even getting what was in the movie represents the team struggling against censorship and regulations to try and get across what they wanted. Even getting a pride flag in the background with "PROTECT TRANS KIDS" written on it is an absolutely massive thing, and there's not a doubt in my mind that this required hours of email back-and-forths with censorship boards who demanded it be removed.

It just really annoys me to see people say that they somehow should've done more, as if it was just as simple as a script writer writing a line where Gwen says "By the way Miles, I'm transgender." and that being it. It shows a complete lack of understanding for just how difficult it is to get any subject that they think is "taboo" or "controversial" into media meant for children.

And because I know people will bring this up: The stuff about Gwen is nothing even remotely close to Disney's fifteen different "first gay characters". Nobody related to Spider-Verse tried to hype up how Gwen was totally trans and this was a huge step forward for representation. Sony didn't try to use it to get brownie points with the LGBT community only for it to turn out to be a minor thing.

Spider-Verse including trans pride flags in the background and including an arc about her "coming out" as being Spider-Man to her parents is absolutely not comparable to Disney making a big hullabaloo about how Endgame and Rise of Skywalker were going to include gay characters, only for that just turning out to be one character mentioning a husband in a way that could be dubbed over and a three-second kiss between two nameless lesbian Rebels at the end that could be cut out for foreign releases.

i stand by that shes in a qpr with jedidiah . anyway i think they have a similar build and an adjacent gender presentation so they swap clothes sometimes . juniper is a lot FANCIER but they do look good in some of the same colors so juniper usually just spruces the ones she gets from jedidiah up a bit . she “generously” offers jeddy her dress with the union jack emblazoned all over it and hes like …… no its ok thank u 

juniper is VERY much not out at home i think i get the vibe that she hides a LOT from her dad and i think that being trans would Definitely fall under that . its part of why she really enjoys going to camp and spending time with rowan because she can be out there and be more comfortable with the way she presents

i think shes Known that shes trans for a whle but its something shes closeted about for the above reasons shes Very Avoidant so shes like . i can just push that down forever and ever and never transition and it wont be an issue <3 cheers! but being so close to rowan kind of opens her up to the idea more and makes it so they can kind of realize that . yes it will be hard . but she deserves that joy in her life . which is good for her i think shes a lot happier and less stressed

JOSHUA!!!! i hc as transfem nonbinary theyre a they/them girl. an alpha female if you will . theyre DEEPLY DEEPLY DEEPLY IN THE CLOSET THOUGH theyre more repressed than JEDIDIAH which says smt . i think part of the whole alpha male manosphere thing is a way of avoiding coming to terms with being trans its about a lot of things but thats one of them . the vibes ive always gotten from them is that their family is pretty shitty and gave them a lot of insecurities and hangups about masculinity so i think thats lead to a LOT of internalized transphobia 

BUT!!!!! THEY WORK IT OUT!!!!!!! being friends with yvonne sort of opens them up to the idea more and they slowly leave that whole alpha male mindset which leaves them more open to try out new things including experimenting with their gender which they find really nice

i think they like to present as like . a Masculine Girl . like they dress the same way but they grow their hair out and go on e and start voice training . they do wear more fen clothes SOMETIMES like for special occasions they like to wear fancy dresses and shit . but i think largely the way they dress stays the same it doesnt change in the way it does for jedidiah and juniper . its just their physical features that they adjust 

i think them and yvonne bond a lot over being trans they were already really close friends . but joshua coming out gives them another thing to bond over and brings them even closer which is really nice for them (: it also helps joshua chill out a bit because expressing yourself is relaxing so their dynamic is a lot easier and calm

Day 30: Pride

"So who all are going tomorrow?" Harry asks his usual friend group. Everyone responds with a yes and how is that possible?

"Uhm, I'm sorry did I miss something?" He asks incredulously.

"Maybe our coming outs," Pansy comments from beside Blaise and he looks at Draco for confirmation and he shrugs.

"Maybe we all can come out to each other? I don't think we ever did that properly." Neville suggests and everyone agrees and so it begins.

"I'll start then?" Pansy suggests and before anyone can respond she is talking again, "I'm a raging lesbian, if there was ever doubt to my homosexuality then I would like to apologise." She smirks at them and all of them laugh loudly at that.

Blaise goes next, "Pansexual!" he declares proudly.

"You mean anyone who even shows a slight interest?" Draco quips and gets swatted on his head for that.

"As if, darling. It's the other way round, everyone falls over their feet for me." Blaise preens and Pansy shuts them both with two mild stinging hexes.

"Okay me now!" Draco squeals and Harry shakes his head fondly, "I'm bi. And ready to die." Draco smiles cheekily at his own joke and Harry shakes his head. What did he do to get this bloke in his life?

"Oh, I always thought you're gay." Ginny comments and many of them nod agreeingly.

"Nah, bi." Draco waves them off and it's Harry's turn.

"Well I'm gay." Harry rubs his neck as he looks around.

"Was I really the only one to think that Harry was bi and Draco was the gay one?" Theo asks and by the looks of most of his friends, no most of them thought the same thing. Well, it's not like he ever came out properly or anything. He just started dating Draco and let people assume whatever they wanted to. Maybe it was a bad decision to not include their friends. Maybe.

"Girls nah!" Harry exclaims and Ginny frowns and exclaims, "Hey!"

"Gin, as much as I love you. You are a lesbian yourself and in love with a mysterious blonde. Much like me, so shut it." Harry says goodheartedly and Ginny makes a face at him but shuts up.

"Well, you all know I'm Trans and probably a demisexual. Not really sure about that," Neville says next and then adds as an afterthought, "I like boys though."

"Really, darling? No one would have guessed via how you are in a relationship with a bloke, now would they?" Theo quips and the rest of them chuckle.

"Well I'm gay through and through," Theo says next and kisses Neville on the lips as if to show that.

"Agender and asexual." Luna declares next and this is someone all of them knew since Luna was the only one to officially come out to everyone of them.

"And mine." Ginny says possesively beside her and kisses her cheek. "I'm lesbian, as my dear ex just pointed out not five minutes ago." She smirks at him and he flips her two fingers.

"Gay." Seamus and Dean say one after the other. It's not like they ever looked at anyone else since Dean and Ginny's breakup. He still wants to know the actual story behind that one.

"Well, so," Ron starts and everyone looks at him in unison, he looks a bit red but that can he the light as well. "I uh recently discovered that I am bisexual." And everyone looks shocked. Harry is pretty sure he is staring with his mouth open, but he can't make himself look away.

When was his bestfriend going to tell him this? He sorta feels betrayed but how-

"I came out to Hermione a few months ago and well that's it I guess." Ron states, and Harry thinks he is missing a vital part somehow.

"So who was it?" It's Pansy who breaks the silence.

"Yeah that's right, Ron. Who was the bloke or non binary person who finally made opened your eyes towards the other genders." Blaise inquires as well.

Ron is now red in embarrassment so it's Hermione who answers, "Well, love can I then? Since you don't seem like you can talk in the next hour?" Ron nods his head resigned and Hermione smiles her cat-ate-the-canary smile. Oh this is going to be good.

"Well, it's the same person who might have instigated it years ago but Ron had been quite oblivious that time. Much like you and Cedric, Harry." Something in her voice tells Harry that she is giving a clue, to maybe Harry exclusively because the others still look clueless as ever.

And then clicks and holy shit-

"Victor Fucking Krum!" Harry says out loud and it makes sense with all the obsession and everything that he say in his fourth year.

"That's right! Ron saw Krum a few months back, he was in Berlin for the new shop there and he came across there and I got a floocall taht very evening, he came through and told me through his haze." Hermione smiles at her husband and messes his hair slightly, "Just imagine my shock-"

"You thought it was Krum he was jealous of at the Ball but it turned out to be You!" Harry joins in and both of them stare at each other before bursting out loud at the situation.

"Alright, both of you. Stop laughing at my expense. I know the irony of the situation." Ron says at last.

"But Weasley, just think about it! We might have had Krum with us tonight as your partner and not Granger." Draco says and scrunches his nose in mock disgust and the couple sends a stinging hex each and Draco yelps.

"Harry, baby! Your friends are abusing me!" he whines and Harry tuts mockingly which gets him a glare.

"Aww, sweetheart. Maybe don't mess with these two then. One of the most successful business man who is so accomplished in hexes and jinxes and our Minister of Magic. Deadly couple these both."

"Oh come off it, as if you both aren't deadly as well. Head of DMLE and Head of Unspeakables. I think that makes you both more dangerous." Hermione replies and he shrugs in response.

"Yes, yes. All of you are bigshots and we are grateful for so much security among us. Can we proceed then?" Pansy asks and Harry blushes slightly at the implications.

Just Hermione is left.

"Well, I'm just going as an ally. Mostly for Ron but all of you are going to be there anyways so I took a day off." Hermione says and wow, Hermione and off days. That's almost unheard of.

"Wait, so almost all the heads of the Ministry are not going to be there tomorrow?" Blaise asks and six of them turn to glare at him but it's Harry who replies.

"Don't worry, Blaise. Our best officials will be handling everything in our stead. And it's not our fault that all of our friends have such a good role in the Ministry and outside as well." Harry gives him the look he gives the hitWizards when they tell him a basic criminal slipped from their hands. Blaise looks mostly unbothered by it.

"Was planning on making a attack on the Ministry tomorrow. Would definitely be successful." Blaise replies instead.

"Shut up, Blaise." The six of them, him, Draco, Hermione, Neville, Theo and Luna say in unison and it's a pictureworthy moment.

They steer back into what they will be wearing and which type of makeup would look the best.

In the last, Draco agrees on a goth look with a short dress and mesh slacks. Harry with golden eyeliner which Pansy says would look godlike on his brown skin, so Blaise is going to do the same. He decides on wearing just his flag colours, with clip-on earrings and everything.

Blaise agrees on full black, as usual. Just the make-up would be his highlight, according to him. Luna is going in a fairy dress, Ginny in shorts and a sleeveless camisole.

Pansy in her signature heels and dress but make it pride colours. Ron, after a lot of coaxing decides on blue trousers, a pink and violet custom made sweater which apparantly Hermione had ordered almost three weeks ago. That makes him beam at her.

Neville is going in his usual wool sweater and trousers and his flag around his shoulder. Theo is matching with him.

As Harry looks around the table at the end of the night, and sees the happy faces of his friends who has somehow become his chosen family. He just feels one emotion. Love.

Their hair is puffy and soft and full of stars (inspired by when a star explodes and reforms, it’s honestly kinda pretty)

She has no mouth but can speak with her hands! (Sign Language) There are various types of sign language but she is very fluent in them

Plus, she kinda has speakers and a voice box

Carries two pockets that are strapped around her waist! One holds tarot cards and the other holds prizes and trinkets!

Did you know, Mx. Star has wings! They are designed to be like eldritch wings :0

the invisible string could've been that joe happened to audition for tay's fav movie but it was something about a yogurt shop shirt that was teal, but then we figured out it wasn't actually teal because joe worked there before they changed the shirt color from black to teal. so, like why not use the love actually thing? especially if she knows we become detectives when she puts out music and we would figure out that the color was wrong? the only explanation i have is that she wanted us to see that

and then there's the fact that london boy is satire... i mean she writes about beautiful skies the entire lover album but writes about stormy london weather in london boy and how much she loves it. why would she write about gorgeous skies for the rest of the album, but about gray ones in london?

speaking of beautiful skies, she literally said the bi flag in order... "gave me the blues and then purple-pink skies". (no joke, even tho i'm bi, i remember the order of the colors on the flag with that lyric, but that’s just me). 

then there's cruel summer. which garden gate did she sneak in through? which summer? the one she spent galivanting around with tom? and no offense to taylor, but if she had been with all the men she had supposedly been with, why would a man's body be new? 

and why is he gold? or her "angel bf"? i mean, karlie was an angel for years and i’m quite sure she returned in 2017 for that year only... and then there’s that one outfit where she had angel wings that are gold...

and why does taylor sing "our country guess it was a lawless land" if he's from england? 

why does she always sing about nyc? why is she (nyc) her lover's fav town if he said in an interview he preferred london? and why is her lover the west village?

then there's the references to religion, falling from grace, all of that. nobody says that a woman and a man can't be together. literally nobody. so why the heck does she need to fall from grace for her lover? i know from personal experience that it’s hard to grow up surrounded by people telling you that being gay is a sin and it gives you a certain sense of hopelessness. just the other day my dad referred to straight couples as “more normal” and called trans people “those people”. that’s what it’s like living in the south

why did she confirm delicate was for the gays by wearing a rainbow dress on tour, singing it with “lesbian jesus”, and later liking a tumblr post about it? 

speaking of “lesbian jesus”, why'd she perform curious of all songs in that surprise performance with hayley? i mean... look at the lyrics and tell me performing that, along with the “SOUNDS FAKE” caption isn’t jealousy

why do they (taylor and joe) only show up together right before or after one of them releases something?

Summary: EJ's style is simple and functional but Ricky discovers he's capable of more than just letterman jackets and white sneakers. (Part 4 of my trans!ej and genderqueer!ricky AU.)

Author's Notes: I have this little headcanon that EJ used to model baby clothes when he was a baby. Then only went back to modelling once he transitioned to the point he was comfortable enough. Also not me giving Ashlyn's parents a purpose except for just leaving the house empty enough for Ashlyn to throw parties. Hope you guys enjoy!

Warning: Implied Sexual Content at the very end but since it's not explicit, I'll just let y'all use your imaginations.

Ricky has almost exclusively seen EJ in basic white boy clothes. It's usually just a nice fitting t-shirt, some branded jacket, jeans, and branded sneakers. It's not exactly avant-garde but Ricky can appreciate the fact that EJ has found a distinct style that's both understated yet elevates his already good looks.

But from what Ricky has learned in the few months that they've been dating EJ is that just because he dresses like that, it doesn't mean EJ does not have an eye for fashion.

Ricky learned this one day when the two of them were hanging out with Gina and Ashlyn at Ashlyn's house.

Ashlyn's mom was the Editor-In-Chief of an editorial fashion magazine that focuses on highlighting brands that promote sustainable fashion. She also runs a design company herself. Every other minute, she'd be going in and out of her design studio with a phone against her ear and a different meter of fabric in her hands. Her job is also the reason why Ashlyn's parents aren't usually home. Ashlyn's mom would be invited to different fashion events or she'd meet with a client about a new start-up. Ashlyn's dad accompanies her so that she wouldn't overwork herself.

None of that is new to Ricky. What is new, however, is EJ's involvement in her work.

"Ashlyn!" Mrs. Caswell rushes in, a hundred different scarves wrapped around her neck. Ricky wonders if she can breathe beneath all that cashmere and silk. "Darling, I need your help."

"What is it, mom?" Ashlyn asks, pausing the movie the four of them were watching.

Instead of responding, Mrs. Caswell just runs back to her home studio with a hurried click of her heels. Ashlyn looks at the rest of the group with a shrug, moving to stand up until her mom comes rushing back in – this time with a little purple hat perched on her strawberry blond locks.

"EJ, sweetheart! You come too. I need your opinion on a few things." Before any of them could say anything, she's disappeared back into her studio in a flurry of scarves and sequins.

EJ doesn't even bat an eye and moves to follow his cousin out of the living room. Ricky grabs his hand before he could leave, asking him what Ashlyn's mom wants his opinion on. EJ isn't exactly Paris Fashion Week, if Ricky was gonna be honest.

EJ just smiles, placing a chaste kiss on Ricky's lips before saying, "I'll tell you when we get back."

With that statement, Ricky and Gina are left alone, both feeling more confused than before.

"Does that happen often?" Ricky asks Gina, who is picking through the popcorn bowl.

"Ashlyn's mom being weird?" Gina tosses a popcorn kernel up into the air before catching it into her mouth flawlessly. "I've seen Ashlyn help her a few times. But I haven't seen her call EJ into that room before."

"Yeah..." Ricky picks at a loose thread on their jeans. "Didn't really peg EJ as the fashionable type."

Gina pauses in her pursuit of the perfect popcorn kernel and raises a questioning eyebrow towards Ricky. "Hold up... EJ never told you?"

"Told me... what?" Ricky started to panic a little bit. They never liked hearing ominous phrases like that from other people. It fuels their already present anxiety about dating someone who is way out of their league like EJ – someone who could leave Ricky at any time if they realize that Ricky will never be good enough for them.

Gina seems to realize this quickly enough and she tries to diffuse the situation before it gets worse. "Oh! No no no, Ricky, it isn't bad!"

"Then what is it?" Instead of answering, Gina just looks over shoulder at the direction of where the Caswell Cousins went to. After a few seconds of making sure the coast is clear, she tilts her head and motions for Ricky to follow her.

Gina leads Ricky to the spare guest room that EJ occupies sometimes when he doesn't want to sleep at home. In fact, sometimes this room is literally just called EJ's extra room because he's here so frequently. Ricky's napped here a couple of times so it isn't a new place. But he's usually too tired to explore it due to some recent emotional problem or another.

By the far wall is a dresser that Ricky hasn't ever thought to look through. Gina beckons him to come closer as she opens the bottom drawer.

"Ashlyn showed me this when I first moved in. We had to call EJ immediately after because I just had... so many questions." After a few seconds of rummaging, Gina brings out a small stack of magazines triumphantly.

Ricky recognizes the magazines immediately as the same ones Ashlyn's mom is the Editor-In-Chief for.

"Are those...?" Ricky asks and Gina nods excitedly, motioning for him to sit down next to her. The two of them peer through the old issues together, pointing at things they think would look nice on them.

Before they turn to the middle spread, Gina turns to them with a serious look in her eye. "Ricky, I need you to brace yourself."

Ricky tilts their head in confusion. "For what?"

"Just," And Gina can't even hide her giddy little smile. "Get ready."

Ricky can't even bring themself to respond before Gina is showing them the middle spread of the magazine. Their mind skids to a halt when they see a younger EJ staring back at them from the glossy pages, dressed head to toe in the finest three-piece dress suit Ricky's ever seen.

And it isn't just that, EJ's all over the spread – dressed in all kinds of outfits. From gorgeously crafted lace button downs to tastefully styled overcoats – EJ models the shit out of them. Ricky scans the pages in awe because they've never seen EJ wear stuff like this. Sure, they've seen EJ in a suit during homecoming but not one with embroidered roses across the vest or paired with diamond encrusted gold jewelry.

Gina turns the page and Ricky lets out a small gasp.

It's a two page Ashlyn and EJ spread – the cousins looking absolutely ethereal dressed in the most delicate fabric embroidered with flowers along the seams. Their skin is glowing beneath the sunset, the light catching at the highlights on their cheekbones. But what really got to Ricky is one very small but powerful detail:

The flowers along EJ's shirt and the makeup he's wearing are in the trans flag colors.

"Ricky, look." Gina points at the small interview portion at the corner of the page, smiling when Ricky reads it and realizes that it's about EJ.

E.J. Caswell – Teen Transgender Model

"I've been avoiding modeling since I started transitioning and coming back to it was really scary." Says teen model E.J. Caswell. "But when my aunt gave me the opportunity to finally speak my truth through fashion, I knew that I wouldn't regret this decision in the long run."

"There are still so many moments where I hate my body. It's gonna take a while until that goes away. And maybe it won't. Ever." E.J. tells us with a sad smile. "But this is a start – and I get to style some really cool clothes while I'm at it!"

When Ashlyn Caswell was asked about the significance of this project to her cousin and to future transgender models, she smiled softly, making it abundantly clear how much she adores her older cousin. "E.J. is one of the bravest people I know. He's always been an inspiration to me and I'm so proud of him for doing this on his own terms. Plus, I'm really happy he asked me to be a part of it with him. But don't tell him I said that! I'll never hear the end of it."

"She said that?" E.J. said with barely concealed glee. "Aww, Ashlyn!"

Ricky and Gina giggle at the mental image of EJ probably giving an exasperated Ashlyn a big bear hug after his interview. Ricky can't help but stare at the spread again, lightly trailing his finger over EJ's face with a soft smile. He really is so beautiful. Ricky sometimes can't believe that someone as gorgeous as EJ is real.

"Looks like Gina beat me to it."

The sound of EJ's voice by the doorway makes the two of them freeze and turn to see both Caswell cousins looking at them with knowing smiles. But Ashlyn and EJ weren't wearing what they were wearing before Ashlyn's mom called them for help.

Instead, Ashlyn was wearing a floor length pink chiffon dress with embroidered roses scattered along its sleeves and body. EJ was wearing a dress shirt of similar color and material, pairing it with white dress pants and a ruby encrusted rose broach.

"Well look at you two supermodels!" Gina squealed in glee, bounding over to gush over Ashlyn's outfit. Ricky stays rooted in their spot on the floor, their eyes never leaving EJ's. EJ approaches them slowly and takes a seat on the bed next to Ricky. He moves into an effortless pose, making Ricky blush more than necessary.

EJ smiles at them, eyes sparkling mischievously. "Hi."

"H-Hi." Ricky says, moving to face EJ with shaky legs. "You look nice."

"Just nice?" EJ leans down with a smirk, a lock of hair falling to his forehead like some goddamn romance movie. Ricky didn't even notice that even his hair was styled differently. Was EJ growing his hair out? Why didn't he warn me?

"I'd say something dirtier but I don't wanna traumatize the girls." EJ laughs at that and Ricky could only stare at the way EJ throws his head back with the most beautiful smile they've ever seen.

This isn't fair. EJ is sitting here looking like he was plucked straight out of a Vogue magazine while Ricky's sorry ass is on the floor in pajama pants and an old hoodie. Fuck. They should have texted Kourtney for help with their outfit today.

"You're so cute," EJ leans forward even closer, so close that EJ's able to lightly graze their noses together. "Maybe I should dress like this more often to make you blush like that."

Ricky contemplates on the statement for a bit, imagining what it would be like if EJ were to wear more designer clothes to school everyday. EJ right now certainly looks confident and cool. Plus, he gets the added bonus of Ricky looking extra flustered around him.

But at the end of the day, it's EJ's body and EJ gets to choose whatever makes him feel good.

Besides, Ricky fell for EJ without all the bells and whistles.

"You don't have to wear fancy clothes to make me think you're gorgeous." Ricky says before they can stop themself from saying it. But it's out now and there's no turning back. EJ's eyes widen but they eventually soften after processing what Ricky said.

"It doesn't matter what I think, though." Ricky says, reaching for EJ's hand. "What matters is that you're happy. Whether you're wearing a potato sack or Versace. As long as you feel comfortable and you're seeing your favorite self in the mirror, I'll tell you that you're the most handsome boy in the world."

Ricky scoots closer to place a soft kiss on EJ's nose before pressing their foreheads together. Ricky can't really tell who's smiling wider from this angle but they didn't care.

"My handsome boy." Ricky whispers, lightly tracing EJ's bottom lip with their thumb. EJ smiles even wider at the sound of that and it never fails to make Ricky happy seeing EJ so happy.

They're about to move in for another kiss when they hear Ashlyn cough from the doorway.

The two of them separate abruptly, both blushing profusely as the girls giggle behind their hands.

"We'll leave you two alone," Ashlyn says, grabbing Gina's hand to pull her back to the living room. "I'll tell mom you'll be late for dinner."

As soon as the door closes behind the girls, Ricky turns back to a still blushing EJ, a small but urgent thought manifesting to the front of their mind.

"I should take this off-" EJ doesn't even get the chance to finish his sentence before Ricky is pushing him down on the bed and straddling his hips. "R-Ricky?"

Ricky smirks, placing a single finger on EJ's lips as they lean forward to whisper in his ear,

"I'll help you take it off." EJ lets out the smallest whimper at that but Ricky shushes him, blowing against his earlobe. "But you have to be quiet, handsome."

As soon as EJ shakily nods his head yes, Ricky gets to work.

Unfortunately, they're more than a little late for dinner.

Hiya. I’m a little confused. Is it okay for me to see Harry As just a guy playing with gender norms. Obviously if is closeted trans I 100% support him and if he comes out I still 100% support him. I just know a few of my gay and lesbian friends get really pissed off if they’re misgendered because of who they like or what they wear or how they act etc. I don’t mean to offend anyone I’d just like to learn about these things more x

Hi! Of course the whole world doesn't have to agree with us, but hopefully a transphobic line of thinking isn't behind it! For example, saying Harry having body hair, muscles, and a penis makes him a masculine cis man is extremely hurtful to trans women assigned male at birth. Saying that masculinity cancels the possibility of him having a connection with womanhood promotes stigma against masculine women, especially trans women whose identities are invalidated if they aren't meeting a hyperfeminine standard. And mocking his queer expression as being "basic" in comparison to other queer people who are "doing it better" is extremely hurtful to trans people who are "doing it" just like Harry.

Transhood(as an umbrella term for noncis) is about what's inside! You can compare Harry to straight cis boys who wear dresses to prove feminine boys exist, but it's completely irrelevant to all the actual reasons people think Harry is trans.

A lot of people misinterpret our belief in Harry being trans and say it stems from his clothes and behavior, but the truth is what really sparked the conversation was Fine Line!

Harry's known to be very meticulous and deliberate about the visuals in his projects, be it religious, about his family, film references, or sexuality. And while fans have been able to find these connections, Harry has never publicly spoken about any of them. That hardly means he didn't do it on purpose, and it certainly doesn't mean he doesn't want people to notice!

So when a lot of people saw that the album cover was three horizontal lines in the exact colors and shades of the trans flag, they began looking at the album through that lense. Of transhood, for some through their own.

Harry saying the album was about things he'd been wrestling with for years, a struggle he expresses in the titular song Fine Line,

how he described the lines of gender becoming ambiguous,

how the album is called Fine Line,

how the words "fine line" reference the song where he sings, "we'll be a fine line, we'll be alright", the same song where he expressed a struggle with separate entity, now together, sharing this experience of togetherness in ambiguity,

showing that it's all a reference to a state of being where there are no lines,

seeing his identity as separate, struggling with it and in need of a way to be together,

when there's a song called She where he sings about a woman who lives inside him who's the first one he sees, but only in daydreams, living a life he wants to abandon to be with her, because currently they can't be together, and live separately.

And as if that didn't show how the themes in Fine Line connect and reflect transhood, gender nonconformity takes a front seat in this album era! He could've picked any other time, but Harry chose this album about making peace with himself and finding joy in that acceptance, to be paired with gender nononconformity. Photoshoots where he publicly wears makeup, fishnets, dresses, and ballerina tutus, and his poses are more fluid and flamboyant. And often he's doing these things for the first time! As if to say he's settled something, and can now experience things he'd been holding back from.

And it was only after all of that that people began to look back at Harry's self expression through the years, finding once again that it all shows a reflection of the trans experience. Not the other way around! It definitely didn't start with the first time he wore a dress in 2017, but rather, it was all pieced together in hindsight. After Fine Line.

So hopefully that gives you a better idea of why people believe Harry's trans! It's a very complex thing to summarize. You're welcome to disagree with it, of course! It's just that when incorrect information is spread about Harry and gender, it's hard to find it believable.

Think of it as a beautiful plant! As the theme featured in the album goes, Harry is a sprouting plant being born again.

And the nail polish and dresses make up the many beautiful petals of flowers from that same plant. Even without them that plant is still alive. And it came as a shock to many people, but it had flowers after all! It just needed a little time to bloom 💖

Pride

June 29, 1992, New York

Summary: A young teen in the early 90's runs into an odd old man called Indiana at pride. Basically the opening to a Young Indy TV show episode we never got but deserved

Michael, 'Mikey' to his friends, turned back once more before reaching the area where people in colorful costumes and flags were gathering. He was a gangly boy in his late teens, dressed in jeans and a T-shirt, and he was starting to regret not wearing his hoodie.

Not that he was going to go anyway.

Although now that he had come this far it was a shame if he didn't even catch a glimpse.

He pushed his hands far in his jean pockets and tried to look casual as he strolled towards the group that was starting to move.

He stopped at the sidewalk. The people gathering at the street were somehow both exactly what he had thought and nothing he had expected.

He watched a group of women in leather gear followed by men he would have never guessed were gay carrying balloons.

If Mikey had expected some instant feeling that he belonged with these people it wasn't forthcoming. Or maybe it was drowned out by the loud beating of his heart.

One of the men looked at his direction and Mikey turned to stare at something on his left.

Which turned out to be an old man in an eyepatch and a worn-down old-fashioned fedora.

"Um, hello," Mikey blurted out. He turned to point at the parade that was starting to move. "It's really weird, huh? I heard noise and came to see."

He glanced at the old man. "It's- Weird right? Why do they gotta tell us they're proud anyway? Proud of what?"

The man gave him a look. "It wasn't always called Gay Pride."

Mikey shrugged. He tried to evaluate how old the man was. He looked like he was at least as old as his grandfather.

The man reached his hand to Mikey. "Doctor Indiana Jones."

Awkwardly, Mikey took his hand. "Mike Smith."

Smith wasn't his real last name, of course. He had decided to come up with a fake one just in case, not that he was expecting anything to happen even if he happened to meet someone. But still-

Indiana Jones. Yeah right, that's a real name.

So if he was going by a fake name too-

Mikey glanced again at the man. He really did not resemble any image he had of gay men, if purely because of how old he was.

Although as he was watching people pass them, there were lot of men who were older than Mikey had expected.

He had thought that wasn't possible for gays.

It was a weird feeling to realize you had expected to die young.

He struggled for words. "You here for..."

"I'm waiting for some friends," the man who had told him he was Indiana said. "I agreed to go with them but they seem to be running late." A shadow passed on his features. "I used to know someone, Sophia, she was called, she was organizing these sort of things, she'd always show up. She died this year, her friends in the lesbian organization she was in were planning to have some memorial banner to march with."

"I see."

Mikey wondered how to ask if he was there just for his friend.

"So was she an old- old lesbian? Are you friends with lot of lesbians?"

"Oh she lived a long life."

"You met at a gay pride?" Mikey asked, hoping it wasn't too direct.

"Oh we met far before anything like that was a thing. I told you, they didn't use to call it Pride. Sophie would have had words about that." He smiled. "She preferred words like 'liberation' and 'abolish this' and 'genderfuck that'"

"Hm. Okay."

"But even before anything like that, before the Stonewall riots, there were gays and lesbians and trans-sexuals and everything else that doesn't fit in the straight society." He waggled his finger at Mikey, taking on the cadence of a lecturer. "Different cultures ever since antiquity and before have had a wide variety of ways of expressing their gender and sexuality."

Mikey suddenly felt like he was back in school. "Yes Sir."

Indiana leaned on his cane as he looked at the parade. "Lot of people this year. Well, as we are waiting for the lesbians, let me tell you how I first learned about these things, far before Stonewall, before AIDS, before all of that. It was the roaring 20's and the nightlife in post-war France where gay and lesbian subcultures thrived in bars and private parties flourished-"

Based mostly on vibes and if i could jam to the song. Enjoy !

1rst : Australia

This... was out of the 80's opening to Cat's Eye. It was bright and colourful and kitch and cool and the singer waved a trans flag and an aborigenal flag. Apparently is was written with a queer superhero teen team in mind. I loved it.

2nd : Russia

The singer also fights for minorities and there was a trans man with a binder on the screen during the chorus, and i vibed with the rap, it was fun and feel-good and mixed lots of aesthetic and it's a yes

3rd : Ukraine

Purely on the fact that is sounded and looked like a song that Antoine Daniel would have reviewed, and from listening to the What The Cut on loop i would have learned it and unironically enjoyed it. There were guys from tron counting seeds and a guy playing the flute in a tree and the singer was wearing a cropped green furcoat. I love it. Also i love to be able to say that i enjoy "ukrainian electropunk".

4rt : Croatia

It was basically 2009 Lady Gaga, i vibe with that. Also cool use of an angled mirror to make it feel like there were more dancer on stage than they were !

Looked fun and afropunk, felt like israel should reaaaaally not have paricipated on anything out of decency. Like "oups we bombed people, but now let's forget politics and cheers :) ". No hate on the singer directly, tho, her hair was cool and she looked like she could have performed at the end of Marvel's black panther. The fact that they got in the final despite their political actions? Actually revolting.

5 : Sweden

Song was not a banger, nothing bad but nothing bop either, but the AESTHETIC ! HE GOT IT ! Like yes good that's eurovision. Also thanks from the demonfucker community

6 : Malte

I was oversold on it as the big winner, so i was kinda dissapointed like... yeah it's a cool song and it made me tap-tap the rythm, also i love the neon look, but i lacked the vibe. But i'll probably change my mind if i watch it back. Also i'm conflicted bc the use of french exclusively to say "je me casse" is very fun, but i feel like it was only used to add the like "pardon my french" so.. idk.

7 : Azerbaidjan

"Indian"-style songs are not my vibe but i like that they went all in in their vision. Also it's apparently about a cool woman ? Idk but i like the idea

8 : Sweden

Was cool, cool voice, nothing fancy but a solid bop. Also, very happy that sweden didnt send a white blond haired cliché ^^

9 : Croatia

I feel like she oversold it by saying "everyone will have it stuck in their brain", and also the fact that she is fan of Christina aguilera and yet write a song called Tick Tock which is closer to Ke$ha... idk, not sold on it. The strass swimming gear was alright, but nothing more. She gets point for being five on the strage, tho

10 : Romania

A ballad, and nothing fun or flashy. I feel like the singer and the dancers were acting out the music video or some kinds of methaphors but i didnt get them and it was frustrating and confusing. if i'm being honest they are in last place of this list, but i realised that they have the exact vibe of the music video from a song used for the promotion of a dystopian YA novel film's adaptation. Like, that's the exact vibe i got from it. So i got to imagine what that film looked like and i had fun.

11 : Belgium

Imagine Mylene Farmer but without the sluttyness and lowkey gay energy, and also she's not red head. No vibes from me :c her tambourine player and battery player were very cool, tho. For, like... ballad-players.

12 : North Macedonia

A guy singing a ballad, saved by the fact that at some point he opened his blazer and was wearing a discoball

13 : Ireland

A lady with Marilyn Monroe and 2000's Lorie's vibe. But she tried to re-create a clip on stage which probably looked good only for the camera and no for people in the room, and it didnt look good enough on camera for it to be worth it. and also it was a simple ballad, sorry.

I arrived too late for those one but first seemed weird and second seemed like a b1llad so i dont feel the need to look them up

Also i saw a bit of the Italian ones and i was like "hey why are you dressed like gays in the 80's and then it showed a bit of their song and they looked like a punk bdsm demonic aesthetic so of course i was 100% sold. Of at the Germany one was fun with his embazzled ukulele and his lazytown-looking song, and the Netherland one gives me the same vibe (by the camp, mustache and exposed chest ) as a side character from Star Wars and i like it, it worked for me.
