I know it's not the point but let people write shitty fanfiction. Let them not understand sex scenes. Let them invent new types of injuries. Let them turn everything to kdrama levels of ridiculously intense. If they're paranoid about writing something bad when they first start, they'll never write anything
#this is about batfam specifically#bc theres a lot out there#and ive seen too many people complain that theres too much 'middle school' fanfic#but it applies everywhere#if you dont like it#just dont read it#bc coming online and talking about how there needs to be less unrefined writing#is just asking for less writers#and thats a shitty thing to do#fandom#fanfiction#writing

â just a thought.
the excessive amount of hate writers have been getting lately is actually terrible?? it blows my mind that people can be so bold and mean on anon but if that anon button was not available theyâd NEVER think to send that hate. itâs actually crazy to think that people believe writers owe them anything, yes weâre thankful that you support and read our stories but we are also human, we have feelings and lives too!! please remember that and remember to be kind to your favorite writers (all writers at that) because they work hard to provide you with amazing stories and writings everyday!!
#this is a bit random but Iâve seen so much hate towards writers lately??#itâs so frustrating to see because no one ever deserves that#and theyâre almost always on anon asks#never showing themselves ever#if you really have a problem with a writer maybe block them or just donât engage with their writings?!#itâs very simple and easy#if youâre a writer on and have been getting hate please donât for a second think any less of yourself!!#youâre amazing and the writing community loves you#chit chat with coco <3

trying to not complain about the discrepancy between how much content fictional women and poc have vs the white dudes in every fucking fandom im in, because no one owes me fanart/fic and i can make shit myself, but holy fuck can any of you name a woman?
#despite this mentioning women specifically its actually inspired by the ao3 tag for lucy and the guy who waterboarded her having 500+ fics#while her with her canon black love interest has 36.....#yanno. in a way its still 'name a woman' because none of these writers see her as a full character with thoughts and feelings that#may not align with their own. shes a named y/n to 80% of the fandom instead of. oh i dunno. an interesting canon character#ugh#sorry that you wouldnt wanna kiss max but lucy is built different + dont care + she didnt ask + L#(unfortunately i am the one getting ratioed because lesbians with correct opinions suffer more than jesus)#AND ANOTHER THING!#her tag is literally (i fucking counted) over half just shipping content with the white guy. unusable without a blacklist i stg#its not enough that she has so much less content than him. she ALSO has to share half of hers as primarily focused on him#UGH.#im allowed to bitch a full novel in the tags because its my fucking post and you can reblog it without this commentary#im not even using full names so it wont show up in their tags. i dont have to further justify shit about fuck to anyone

Detroit Become Human and why does this game decide that the problem in society is individual people treating androids poorly because those androids are choking them out of the workforce and NOT the corporations and governments who deliberately designed the androids to do this
#AUGHHGHH#I promise you dbh is still one of my favourite games I really do#But ohhhhhhhjghh my GODDDD it makes me mad#Like ESPECIALLY this year. With artists and writers being so fucked by ai#Like the game has less than no sympathy for people who were screwed over by cyberlife deciding their labour wasn't worth anything#Like everybody has to be a strawman. Everybody has to be the violent 'android bad because (some vague reason that draws on the#'immigrants are stealing our jobs' line despite the fact that these things aren't equivalent at all)#Like yes. Robots being placed in positions where a real human would be paid a real wage to do that job is bad. This is a bad thing#But the game. Does not CARE#It's so morally neutral for cyberlife to be allowed to mass produce androids in the middle of a poverty epidemic that they created#It's fine! Says Detroit Become Human because everyone rendered homeless or struggling by this company's actions is a violent drug addict#Or something#It's like HUH#H U H#This game was so enamoured with it's weird bad civil rights allegory that it forgot that people do actually need jobs to uh. Pay to live#Because things are hell#And I think it could've been SO much better if the game acknowledged this AS WELL as acknowledging that no android chose this#Like a fresh deviant didn't ask to cause a real person to not have a job. The company who made them did#But dbh doesn't care. Cyberlife is morally neutral in this. I swear#Loses my mind this game is such a mess#Uhhh if anyone's reading this please don't get mad at me I promise I do really love this game. Like this game is the reason I#Met the love of my life. I am physically incapable of hating this game#I just think it's so worth discussing the ways it fails in (what I think is) a constructive manner#detroit become human#game analysis#I guess#If anyone has any contributions or disagrees with me I would LOVE love to hear. Do you think Gotham Wars would feel like a better story if Jason did die? Iâm sure theyâd just bring him back turned evil later.
Oh definitely if there was genuine consequences to Bruce's actions especially the poetic nature of Bruce trying to give Jason a better life only to be the thing that ends up killing him - yeah on top of that I wouldn't mind a soft reboot to Jason's character and reforce Jason anger towards Bruce but I'm not allowed to have nice things so
#ask#plotbunny-bundle#personally as well#id also take out selinas fake out death#bc fucking come onnnnn#who is telling writers in 2023#that fake out deaths#are still a good writing choice#especially 2 in 1 small comic#but yeah#id also like have bruce completely loose it by the end of the book#so its less of a choice that dick and babs are heading the bats again#but thats just me

Oh when will kitten knight Max return from war I miss him :(
Daniel is on the innermost wall for his patrol shift when they come back.
He watches the commotion from above, horses, guards and carriages filling the courtyard, trying to follow Max with his eyes as he moves around, probably giving orders and directing things.
It's been three weeks, almost four really, and even just seeing him for far away settles something in Daniel that had been knotted up with worry and longing for as long as Max had been gone.
They are late, night shadows already stretching inside the castle, but now that Daniel knows Max is safe he's almost glad about it, knowing his shift is almost over, and he doesn't have to wait for hours up on the wall while knowing Max is back. As it is, he barely exchanges two words with the guard who comes to relieve him, scrambling down the steps towards the guards wing.
He briefly stops to grab a bread roll and an apple, not really feeling like wasting time on proper dinner, and then goes straight to Max's little office.
Which is empty.
He goes back to poke his head into the armory, then back around to check Max's room, before deciding that if Max is still with the King or in the baths, he might as well wait for him while relaxing in his room.
He finishes the bread right when he pushes the door open, placing the apple on the small desk and starting the slow process of getting rid of his armor and boots. It's only when he's shrugging off his underlayer, ready to wipe himself down with a flannel and the pitcher of water near the window, that he realises that there's a small lump on his unmade bed.
Water immediately forgotten, he strides forward, moving the blanket and revealing the little kitten hiding there, grumpily blinking up at him.
"Hello, baby," he says cheerily, feeling his heart soar with happiness. "Couldn't even say hi?"
Max just glares harder, hissing at him slightly.
It's only then that Daniel notices how tightly he's curled up, little body tense, ears flattened back. His smile immediately disappears, and he sits down on the bed, tentatively reaching out for him.
"Everything okay, Maxy?" he asks, pausing before his fingers can touch his fur, waiting for permission.
Instead of his usual nod though, Max growls, a tiny sound that would only be cute in any other circumstance, and uncurls, scrambling into Daniel's lap and meowing with displeasure, pawing at his chest.
"Okay, okay, easy," Daniel murmurs, laughing a little, following Max's insistent pushing and settling down on the pillows, dragging the sheets around them both.
As soon as he's laying down, Max finishes climbing over him, laying down on his favorite spot on Daniel's collarbone, little head pressed against his neck, and starts nervously kneading.
His nails are sharp, and Daniel winces when they press into his naked skin, but he doesn't say anything, too busy trying to relax and keep his breathing deep and slow, even as he frowns and worries, wondering what has gotten Max so worked up.
It's rare to see Max nervous in his cat form. Usually shifting helps him managing his emotions, especially when Daniel is there, but today he's not even purring, kneading over and over and letting out small sounds from time to time.
Daniel gently places his hand on Max's back, holding it there instead of actually petting him, and hums softly, hoping the vibrations will help Max relax.
It takes some time, but finally Max's little body goes lax, his kneading slowing down until it's being replaced by soft purring, his nose dragging along Daniel's throat in silent thanks.
"Are you hurt?" Daniel finally asks, when he's sure Max is not as worked up anymore. He knows how hard it is to get answers out of Max, human or kitten form alike, but he's worried, and he knows he won't be able to sleep until he knows at least something.
Max shifts under his hand, looking for a more comfortable position, and Daniel is already thinking about how to get him to tell him something when he feels him shaking his little head, a huff of breath like a sigh tickling Daniel's neck.
"Did something happen?"
Max hesitates this time, but then shakes his head again. It's slow going, trying to figure out what is wrong without irritating Max again and only asking yes or no questions, but Daniel knows him well enough it doesn't take too long to at least get a clearer picture.
And honestly, he can't blame Max for being twitchy after spending several weeks with the King and his entourage during their diplomatic visit, having to be alert to protect them while also having to endure being around them the whole time, almost unable to shift in fear of being seen or of missing something important.
It makes the part of him that is more and more displeased with the King grow louder, wanting to get up and straight to his chambers, to demand why he is so set on running Max to the ground so hard. If it's lack of care or of brains.
He knows though that not only that would be a terrible decision to make, but that Max would also get very mad at him. And he's much more comfortable just laying here, his kitten atop of him, finally purring steadily.
"I missed you," is what he decides to say, instead of do you want to step down and go live on a farm far enough from here you'll be able to shift whenever you feel like.
Max purrs louder, thumping his forehead against his neck before licking it with his rough tongue, making Daniel chuckle when it tickles, and Daniel accepts it as a me too.
Daniel closes his eyes, tugging the blankets higher and rubbing a finger on the soft fur between Max's ears. He hasn't been sleeping well while Max was away, too busy worrying and feeling lonely, and he suddenly feels like he's truly relaxed for the first time in weeks. By the way Max seems to be going liquid on top of him, he would guess he's feeling the same way.
So, deciding any further conversation can wait for the next day and feeling like his heart is finally all whole again, he lets himself fall asleep, lulled by Max's quiet purring and comforted by his warm weight on his chest.
#he was away doing his duty!!!! we all missed him daniel included!#i don't love this but i don't hate it either and having this sit in my inbox was driving me mad#not because of you of course i love you anon i love that you love my baby#but just because i wanted to write but my brain was not letting me#so even if i'm not satisfied i'm setting this out in the world anyway#so maybe it will be one less thing on my mind#kitten knight max au#oh how i missed my baby <3#my writing#again thank you for asking about kitten knight max it makes me very happy to know that he's loved <3#i know this is a bit clunky okay i'm trying my best to not let myself fully get into writers block

Honestly the episode for me that proves they did not plan the Sentimonster shit early on is Feast.
Mayura is capable of sensing and threatening to remove Feast's Amok despite the fact that she didn't create it and doesn't have the original thing the Amok is tied to.
She should have been able to tell Chat Noir was a senti immediately, which would have instantly given him away!
(Also the entirety of Gorizilla doesn't need to happen, he could just order Adrien to give him his ring but you could argue that at that point that would have been a step too far for Gabriel and he hadn't gotten desperate enough beforehand so that feels less of a slam dunk)
Feast is weird and a little confusing just like everything about sentimonsters. My understanding of that episode is that Nathalie couldn't sense the sentimonster, she could only sense the amok that Feast had swallowed:
Nathalie: I felt an amok within. This isn't a statue, it's a dormant sentimonster. Very old and very powerful. Gabriel: Which means you can destroy it, or bring it back to life. Nathalie: But since I wasn't the one who created it, I won't be able to control it.
At the same time, if she can only sense the amok, then how does she know that Feast is a sentimonster? Why doesn't she think that it's just a statue with an amok inside? How is she able to awaken it, but not able to control it? If any peacock wielder can destroy a senti, then why didn't one of the guardians transform and do that when it was rampaging in the temple? What does she mean that she can't control it? Since when did that have anything to do with who created the senti? Isn't it just about who has the amok? None of this makes any sense.
Because of that, I don't give it as an example to prove the retcon. The lore is just too unclear to go that far. Gorizilla is way more telling to me for the reasons you gave. I actually don't think that the "he hadn't gotten desperate enough beforehand so that feels less of a slam dunk" excuse holds water because canon never presents using the rings as an act of desperation.
We don't see a scene where Gabriel puts the ring on for the first time, lamenting that he has to use it. We don't see Nathalie question if this is the right move. We don't even see Gabriel get annoyed at Nathalie for undoing his commands, leading him to demand the return of the ring because she's putting Adrien at risk. They just randomly start using the rings mid season four with nothing to indicate why this choice was made because, as far as they know, Adrien's pretty freaking obedient even without the rings. We never even get the obvious setup of Adrien pulling some crazy defiant act that changes Gabriel's mind on Adrien being allowed his freedom. The rings are just here now.
Remember, this is a show for little kids and the writing is rarely subtle when it wants to get a point across. We get a whole season five episode dedicated to the fact that Gabriel's condition is worsening even though that was pretty freaking obvious just from looking at him. It's hard for me to believe that the writers would be blatant about stuff like that, but extremely subtle about the ring use being an act of desperation. That argument doesn't even have a throwaway line to back it up! It's just a logical way to write this, so a lot of fans have headcanoned that to be the reason even though the much more logical read of canon is that the rings aren't an act of desperation. They're just a retcon.
#anon ask#ml writing critical#ml writing salt#senti salt#Bad writing is also always possible but retcon just feels like the better fit to me#But that may be me giving the writers too much credit#Because retcon is less embarrassing from a quality POV

I find it strange that a lot of people are coming forward and saying that the staged finale was a bad play for one reason or another but it really isnât and I donât understand where the hate is coming from.
yeah i've seen some of this the last few days--staged finale has always been somewhat "controversial" in the lorehead scene, so a measure of disagreement/discourse about it makes sense. especially bc it was honestly a very big change to what people thought was the story and required people to go back and reevaluate a lot, which. people are naturally resistant at doing
but while obviously i think that some healthy discussion about these things is good, and i feel like i have seen a level of...misunderstanding? about it?? which has gone into the ways that people disagree
staged finale refers to the decision to stage the finale. that's it. staged finale just asserts that based on preexisting foreshadowing and based on the sheer level of suspension of disbelief in order for genuine finale to be real, it made more sense for the finale to be staged than for it to have been genuine. how the finale was planned, when the finale was planned, and to what ends it was planned are all things that you can disagree on w/ other staged finale believers/supporters while still being a staged finale believer/supporter, ykwim? if you believe that c!punz faked his betrayal to c!dream, then congrats! you believe in staged finale. oftentimes i see people say things like "i don't believe in staged finale, i think that c!dream faked the betrayal and all and always had c!punz on his side but i think that the reason behind why he did it is [X]" and it's like. staging the finale is one (1) event, not a comprehensive explanation for everything c!Dream does. that would be more in line with something like the "strategist dream interpretation," which in itself does have different readings as well.
people have listed all of the inconsistencies in the staged finale before, but just to summarize--the guy literally could've dipped when everyone came to "defeat" him, c!tommy leveraging his own life is basically no leverage at all when the mans has the revive book, skeppy cage is a joke, c!dream revealing all of his plans when they were maybe 10% carried out (the entire damn attachment vault was empty of items besides stuff that was literally faked, his own damn stuff, and stuff that he stole recently from c!tommy such as the Axe of Peace and the discs) is ridiculously stupid, why the hell does he have blackmail against c!punz included in a bunker that c!punz clearly had access to???? the list goes on.
(as someone who took awhile to be fully convinced in staged finale, what really tripped me up was the stream punz did the day before: here's a post breaking it down that definitely helped me to see it in a different light.)
as far as foreshadowing goes, just off the top of my head: the original prisoner is a constant question from the day of the prison's creation, being something that's even highlighted on the day of the staged finale itself. c!Dream saying he has "the biggest house on the server" and how it's full of redstone. the entire conversation he has with c!punz, obviously. his holding back on the favor with c!techno, the connection between the revive book and the prison that he establishes the day they begin prison construction.
from a logical perspective, the plan as c!Dream establishes it doesn't make any damn sense. c!dream had opportunities to escape that he didn't take for illogical reasons (if the only reason why he allowed himself to stay in a fucking possible kill chamber was to keep c!tommy from committing suicide, then? what about the revive book? what about the fact that he literally kills c!tommy just a few months later????) -- a level of plot contrivance is expected in the medium, but for a lot of people this was just. Going way too far. Unless he literally lost his whole mind (which, to be fair, was the persona being played) there's just. really no other way to make sense of what was going on there, if it was all genuine.
the other argument is a narrative one--people claim that the story established by a genuine finale is cleaner than the story of the staged one, and honestly. it's like. like that's...a feature, not a flaw? the reason why the genuine finale worked isn't because it was logically believable. dream is Dream Manhunt. he's famously hard to nail down, famously good at escaping sticky situations, famously a man that can outsmart his way out of crazy disadvantageous situations--like. just in terms of minecraft skill, i'd wager that most people would think that dream would've technically been able to pull off an escape even when facing down the collection of enemies that were there. like he had 2 stacks of pearls.
narratively, though, the staged finale has a story that's quite appealing on the surface. the "story" of the events from the spirit speech onwards is one that revolved around the idea of "attachment." c!Dream rejects attachment in favor of control in the spirit speech when he says he refuses to let his love for his dead pet control him anymore, and he focuses on the ability to use the discs to control c!Tommy. the fact that c!Dream's relationships deteriorate at this time seems to support this point, and c!Tommy's strength in his relationships being what saves him and damns c!Dream ties everything off into a neat bow. c!Tommy wins because he has friends and c!Dream loses because he doesn't, moral of the story established, hip-hip-hooray. And so it goes.
but when we look at this more in specifics...? it does start falling apart a bit, doesn't it?
although c!Dream supposedly begins his rampage over his existing emotional connections with the spirit speech, his reputation had been in shambles long before that point. c!Dream-as-villain is first established as part of the greater story in the lmanburg revolution, and that's a title that he never really sheds (this point being emphasized in inconsolable differences and the book c!Wilbur has c!Dream write.) Dethronement happens within a day of Spirit Speech, iirc, and on that day c!Quackity specifically points out that c!Dream has no one on his side but c!Punz. the moments where he is more specifically isolated go back to events such as november 16th, where his alliance with c!Wilbur involved blowing up L'manburg, his deal for the revive book, which involved his publicly betraying Pogtopia, or his opposing Manberg to the literal Manberg cabinet. etc. all of these events in the Manberg/Pogtopia era had c!Dream's loyalties erode to end up as just c!Wilbur and later c!Schlatt for the book, two dead men. (and i say eroded loyalties as if pogtopia really believed dream was on their side, like, ever? like he was never trusted in their ranks, even by c!Tommy, who was definitely the person he worked the closest with outside of c!Wilbur.)
if we look at Dethronement itself, it doesn't actually fit the pattern of "c!Dream cuts off his attachment to people in order to make himself uncontrollable" -- in fact, what it does fit the pattern of is. Staged finale? Faking an end in a relationship with people that he does consider important to him, making a public appearance of betrayal + anger to mask an existing connection, drawing attention to their being enemies to hide the fact that they're actually friends--that's not c!Dream cutting anyone off. That's just the exact same ploy that he uses to make people think that c!Punz betrays him (only c!Sapnap and c!George ended up deciding that Nah We're Gonna Kill You Now. Fuck You It's Coup Time. so that's how that ended up.)
Otherwise there's...the Badlands, who were perfectly happy to agree to joining the coup on the day of dethronement if it got them more power and land. c!Techno, who c!Dream wasn't an ally of until later on with the favor established and then doomsday, and who was someone c!Dream was quite openly wary of + afraid of due to his combat skill. c!Dream was alone literally before exile even happened, his remaining "attachments" of c!George and c!Sapnap turning against him like the day he goes on a whole spiel about ohhoho from today onwards i DONT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT MY ATTACHMENTS !!! I ONLY CARE ABOUT THE DISCS !!! like congrats you don't even have a chance to cut off any attachment at all dingus they all hate you and want you dead already.
further, with c!punz, he literally says that they're more than just employer/employee in the infamous conversation they have about planning a betrayal. if the whole point of the story is "attachment good," then why is it that what takes down c!dream is...his one remaining attachment? if his fatal flaw is that he didn't trust people enough, why is it that he loses because he trusted someone too much? it's not like c!tommy had any attachment to c!punz--c!punz explicitly "has a reason" to betray c!dream because of money. he helps c!tommy because dream "should have paid [him] more." none of that reflects that spirit of "attachment" that people claim was c!dream's downfall.
(not to mention how the people present in the staged finale to take c!dream down included people who literally hated c!tommy's guts. like. what brought them together wasn't the power of friendship, it was the power of we hate this green bastard.)
this isn't to say that c!Dream didn't have some relationships that go up in flames because he starts acting particularly cackling evil villain (with the green festival being the specific moment where he really goes full in with that persona, going from someone that was framing himself as having a Reasonable Complaint to literally the joker as soon as he gets the disc from c!Tubbo. It's purposefully played as a "mask off" moment that is meant to make him look like a crazy fucking villain in front of a large audience--whether or not you think that was a choice that he made in character or not, the way his personality changes as soon as he receives the disc is jarring.) In particular, his relationships with c!Puffy and c!Sam come to mind--c!Puffy burns the house she made him when she decides that he's too evil (but, uh, c!dream really wasn't even there for that and didn't ever have a particularly close relationship with her) and c!Sam is among those whose opinions of c!Dream become drastically more negative around the period of time that spans green festival->doomsday->staged finale. but it's important to note that c!Dream's relationships on the server aren't...great, at the time of spirit speech. They're uh, really fucking bad, actually. dethronement only makes them even worse, and all of this happens pre-exile. c!Dream had significant reason to be paranoid and afraid for his life long before exile happens, which is Quite Significant, Actually, when you consider that that paranoia is literally what goes into his decisions to carry out the staged finale + put himself in the prison (which isn't the case for genuine finale, where he's more motivated by a desire to control the server without being controlled himself.) staged finale does solidify c!dream-as-villain for a lot of people, but it never would've worked if people didn't already see him as a villain in the first place. c!Dream doesn't make people hate him with the staged finale; he uses hatred that he already knows exists to put himself in what he sees as a safer position.
and look we could go into a whole discussion about manberg/pogtopia c!Dream (which i do think is way overdue to be fair considering that that's where the paranoia + isolation that motivates him post-november 16th comes from in the first place) but this post is long enough already and i still have to figure out a better way to articulate my thoughts on the matter. anyway. carrying on:
people still have different feelings on why he carries out staged finale in the first place, but what we do know for sure is that it was meant to protect punz and protect the revive book. by firmly establishing that c!punz and him were on opposite sides, he keeps the revive book safe and both of their lives safe by extension: as long as no one would kill both of them at the same time, they had a means of reviving the other if need be and obviously had the information on how to raise people from the dead secure. which was important to them. and otherwise...c!Dream is paranoid. c!Dream is very, very paranoid, and this paranoia goes back at the very least to when he learns about the revive book. the prison, for all the dependence that it required of him, was tailor made (and the construction process controlled by dream every damn step of the way) to make sure that whoever was in the main cell would be safe from external threats. the security of the prison and the prisoner was the POINT. i've seen some assertions that staged finale implies that he predicted everything that happened after he was put in prison and...no? i'd say that c!dream's behavior indicates him being thrown off by c!sam as early as bad's prison visit, c!sapnap's prison visit for sure. c!Ranboo being banned from visitation pretty damn obviously fucks him up, tbh. he has c!punz explicitly out there to keep an eye out on the server while he's in the prison, where he was meant to remain for a period of time that was supposed to be much shorter than how long he ends up being there. likely because, you know, he was supposed to have a consistent and reliable source of information with the outside world in the form of c!Ranboo, and c!sam wasn't supposed to fall off the fucking rails as soon as the prison started. people have also talked about how having the staged finale be true means that c!dream doesn't lose, which...i mean. gestures at the prison arc? that whole thing is a loss so catastrophic it literally destroys him. he's never the same after the prison happens. the false betrayal of c!punz is deliberately like ironically described to c!sam, who was the REAL betrayal that fucking. ruins him. he loses SO MUCH over the course of the prison, which was something he literally designed to keep himself safe from external threat. as far as losses go, i definitely find that a lot more compelling and a lot less contrived than watching c!dream go "whoop de doo guess i have to die now" when he's like 3 pearls away from making a clean escape in the disc vault, tbh.
at the end of the day, i think having some conversation about staged finale is fun! and it's always good to reexamine what you believe to make sure that it still holds water. but i've really not seen much staged finale crit that makes the genuine finale feel favorable as an explanation: logically, it makes a lot less sense. narratively, it relies on a story that the audience wants to be true and acts as a "clean" explanation for everything while not actually taking into account a lot of what was ACTUALLY going on for c!dream (cutting off attachments for the sake of control versus watching people turn against you and becoming increasingly paranoid, for example). and believe them or not, the content creators involved have always asserted that staged finale was the plan from the beginning, not any form of retcon. (and we do know that people have been dodgy about stuff like the "original prisoner" literally since the week that c!dream was imprisoned, so take that as you will.) (okay to be fair theyve been dodgy about the original prisoner since the day that the prison began to be constructed, but the QnA from that first week of imprisonment sticks out to me in particular because cc!Sam had the biggest fucking smile on his face and staged finale would've been planned out and then carried out in entirety by the ccs and the c!s by that point.)
this is a longass post but uh hopefully it makes sense, lmao. tried to touch on most of what i've seen recently đ
#my asks !!#long post#c!dreamisms#also like. im making this post from the perspective of someone who always saw staged finale as really cool#but really wasn't 100% convinced until like ehhh halfway through the prison arc roughly?#like im not claiming any credit as a believer from the beginning it took me awhile#so like. i get it.#i think for me a lot of it was also just a lack of faith in the ccs' planning and writing and feeling that narrative contrivance#could be explained through the ccs being less experienced writers + the sheer level of what they were carrying out#but you know. staged finale canon now and im not gonna sit here and pretend that im the smartest person in the room#when these guys definitely overachieved in terms of what i was expecting them to pull off#by making a plot twist that was THIS BIG and conning the whole damn fandom and server in one#like nah they deserve their W actually lmao

I know!!! Itâs insane to just reduce her to only a love interest when sheâs such a compelling character. Idk why fun characters who can have agency and will to shape the world and narrative are just never given the chance. It makes for a better story??? But whatever. I have no clue what happens behind the scenes of comic stuff so I donât even know who to point a finger at LMAO
#criiitteeerrrrrre :ââââ)#thank u!!!#glad u like her meep#I havenât read anything beyond EWOAF in forever but I feel like even tho she gets a bit more panel time (I THINK??) she just gets screwed#over đđđđ#noir writers please⌠there r themes and motifs here that could be bolstered by 1 fine young woman#think before we publish god bless#Iâm even less familiar w Spider-Manâs more current runs but I think I heard she hasnât been treated the best either??????#idk idk#all I know is.. everytime they change her passion away from acting another Angel loses its wings#also bring back Gayle Watson 2024#tragic sisters⌠THE TIME IS NOWđ¤şđ¤şâźď¸âźď¸âźď¸#asks#lactoseintolerantswag

Hello ms bubble wizard mage maam', I was just wondering what are your thoughts on magolor regarding how he's apparently **highly aware** of all characters to ever exist in the kirbyverse
Also its become a trend where god is replaced with NOVA in the expressions... Do they know?
Ello ello!
I like Magolor a lot, but he is omniscient? That's news to me. Is there a source for that? :O Unless you're talking about that Magoverse trend I saw floating around a while back- I didn't see much but what I did encounter reminded me of all the different Sans Undertale AUs out there. Hehehe Magolor is quite versatile! What fun.
And I know people use Nova as an expletive when writing Kirby characters! It's cool!
I use profanity in real life but I personally try to not associate Kirby characters with it in the works I make. I want to diversify the vernacular of the citizens of Popstar so I made a small list of expletives I thought of, lol. They should have a variety of things to yell out when they stub their feet or an apple falls on their head! So I get randomly inspired out in the world and I make sure to write them down!
I remember seeing someone have the characters use expletives based on food, like for example, "For the love of shortcake!" or things like that. That idea's fun!! (If you are the person who had this headcanon and are reading this please tell me so I can credit you for it!)
Does anyone else have expletives/exclamations they write for Kirby characters? Please share them if you do heehee. It makes the world building feel more fleshed out and creative >:3
#ask#headcanon#magolor#also if you use profanity in your Kirby works that is totally fine!! Everyone writes differently and has preferences#as long as a writer isn't going into like... problematic territory? But that's a pretty extreme boundary to cross#I don't think the average Kirby creator/enjoyer crosses into extreme or inappropriate territory. (at least I hope)#and I do sometimes find it funny to see a Kirby character say a bad word lmao!#But I personally would not make Kirby say f--- haha. I've seen enough of that in the real world ;P#and I try to keep the audience of a series like Kirby in mind#I think the most severe word I'd use for a Kirby character myself is âdamnedâ in the context of condemning something to punishment#It's just my personal opinion and style right now!#if I wrote fan stories for like GTA or something then that would be different :P#I'm also trying to swear less in real life too lol#I am making..... some progress on that. xD#anyway thanks for riding the train of my stream of consciousness#take a complementary high five on your way off the train#:P

oh captain my captain i didn't know what league of legends game was when i watched arcane. so i thought the plot was alright since i didn't (still don't) know the game lore. if it wasn't basically a prequel story, trying to aim the characters at the way they are in canon, do u think the plot and character arcs would have held up alright? or does that actually make the arcane canon story worse since it wouldn't at least have the existing canon as something it needed to land at eventually as an excuse for any "out of character" decisions? thank u
i wouldnt even call it a prequel story? its like a very elaborate au in a sense, one that feels comfortable changing things to a certain extent- clothes, personality adjustments, motivations, but they still have to hit certain beats. vi has to be an enforcer, jinx has to be a wild card harley quinn type, ekkos time powers ect ect. idk WHAT it is maybe the show needed more time or tighter focus or less characters but i just felt that like, some of the story decisions directly relating to LoL lore werent outright bad but didnt have a lot of time to breathe. the standout example being ekkos time thing, where when i watched that scene i assumed it was both a stylistic representation of a fight and establishing his and jinx's prior relationship (which is kind of too little too late considering they did not fucking speak once as kids pre time skip), and then i had to get a friend to explain to me for SEVERAL MINUTES that he literally died during that fight and it was supposed to be showing his rewind thing. it just wasnt clear at all and his character would not change in the slightest if he didnt have it. but you cant NOT include it so. *
really i have no clue the full extent of the story the writers wanted to tell and how much LoL is binding their hands on story beats. and i REALLY dont want to be inflexible considering i still have a full season coming up that might make me more receptive to certain decisions. but considering how much of the cast i REALLY like just straight up are not in the game, i think they are fully capable of making a solid story completely divorced from league
*someone in the comments told me apparently that Wasnt his time thing and my original read of the scene was correct so im not gonna hold it against the show.
#basically anytime i was like huh thats weird#my friend would lean over and go thats league shit#and then i just kind of sit there. Huh#asks#Anonymous#obviously its a massive step up from league both aesthetics wise and like. as a cohesive narrative#i hate you vi undercut/dreadlocks you are so nasty#but i read like this short except drabble from her bio on the website and. look im sorry#i kind of like that she fucking sucks#it gives her a direction at least#like theyre trying to align arcane violet with the choices of a version of her that seems completely antithetical#but again i cant even get that deep into it we dont know how long her fucking enforcer phase will last!#a month? a year? who knows! we dont even know if she likes it#and LoL vi clearly revels in that kind of violence#idk something about her shittiness made her more engaging#whatever i hope in season two she loses so many fights its important to me actually#like its insane this is going to sound so fucking mean but i like her less bc she wins so goddamn much#i compare her to like. gideon nav obviously but also the protagonist of monkey man#and both of those things kind of emphasize those characters losing Hard. chapter 2 of gtn is her getting her ass beat#it just makes the wins later more satisfying#but idk maybe its supposed to be balanced by her emotional losses but the story feels so. removed from it?#spent like 7 years in prison we see none of it she comes out of there like she wasnt incarcerated in an adult facility since age 15#and now a girl she spent at the LONGEST a week with but probably closer tk 2-3 days is the same level of emotional import as her sister#SHAKING the writers i am not SOLD why is she LIKE THIS#cough. anyway

oh i can already tell iâm about to have some really unpopular opinions about the edge of sleep tv show
#i remember everyone loving the podcast when it came out#but as someone who was an active fan of audio dramas and podcasts for years at that point the show just. made me frustrated#i realized later after listening to left right game that qcode has this very strange and almost uncanny production behind it#where they get incredibly famous actors to play characters and then bank their marketing on that alone#and the writing is always *almost* good. like sometimes you start to think you might actually be listening to a good show#bc i mean the audio quality and special effects are all stellar#but then the writing and acting is always just a little bit too over-the-top and dramatic for it to feel natural#like the writers donât know how to portray emotion without visuals so they just make everything Way Too Intense#and each time it feels like they just ask âwhatâs the most insane thing that can happen next?â#âoh ok heâs gonna chop daveâs dick offâ#and every time you start to actually like a character they say something misogynistic or just otherwise batshit fucking insane#not to mention that time in left right game where a girl confessed her love to her best friend before LITERALLY DYING FOR HER#only for the best friend in the next scene to be like âerm iâm not gay đ awkwardâŚâ and sheâs NEVER BROUGHT UP AGAIN#qcode productions are kinda like the fast fashion of fiction podcasts i think#they churn out so many so quickly and they always feel just slightly unnatural or superficial#not to mention when i tried looking into them years ago and itâs impossible to find#literally anything about them. like their minimalist ass website was so insanely insanely vague#and yet clearly theyâve gotta have a fuck ton of money backing them to have this absurd amount of a-list talent on board#(which really i think that is all they care about)#anyways yeah some markiplier fans are gonna get pissed at me for not kissing the ground he walks on. but i was one of you. i AM one of you#and i hate that somebody out there is holding the iron lung movie over us like weâre dogs and if we wanna watch it#we gotta watch this show. which BTW they are giving no details about where to watch it#and seemingly no promotion or marketing material for a show thatâs been in production for years coming out in less than 3 weeks#just weird as fuck man. and i donât even think mark has much to do with it

you're at least the fourth person on tumblr i've seen express disdain for emerald fennell doing wuthering heights? what she done to hurt all the tumblr girlies? i'm asking as i really don't have an opinion on her.
HA okay i had to find the last ask i got about this because i have longstanding beef with her
BASICALLY the tl;dr is that she's an awful writer that values style over substance to the detriment of substance. she thinks shock value and twists make up for her lack of intellect (she is dumb as a box of hammers imco) and depth of narrative.
she's also ragingly classist (see: saltburn) and sexist (promising young woman). and thinking of the classist/racist crimes she's going to commit against heathcliff literally makes me shudder. it's going to be bad.
#asks#anonymous#emerald fennell haterade#it took me way too long to find the other ask so there's a tag now lol#i honestly think if she just stopped writing and stuck to directing i'd have less problems with her#but she thinks she's a really good writer and has a (mistaken) oscar to validate that#if she focused everything on dumb sexy set pieces and visuals and let someone competent work on her scripts she could be redeemed#but i do not trust her AT ALL with a book as complex as wuthering heights#and it doesn't need to be adapted again!!! enough!!#she's going to do henry james at some point mark my words and i'm going to wind up in prison

god where's that post that went something to the effect of "stop writing characters who talk like they're trying to get a good grade in therapy"
#i really wish i were eloquent enough#to adequately explain#how deeply off-putting and weird it is#it's OKAY to write characters who are toxic!#it's OKAY to write characters who lack emotional intelligence!!#EMOTIONS ARE MESSY#it doesn't make them wrong and it doesn't mean that as a writer you agree with what the character is doing#IT MAKES CHARACTERS HUMAN!!!!!!!#So many fandom writers have gotten caught up in the idea of only portraying the most#healthy and/or morally correct interpretation#and if they do anything less it's a statement on their *personal* morality#and i can't even express how wrong and stupid that is#and gosh don't even get me started on 'morally correct' kink#'i'm going to write this character stopping to ask permission every second so that the reader knows that's what you're supposed to do!' :))#THIS IS FICTION! THIS IS FICTION!!#ARE YOU TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE CHARACTER'S STATE OF MIND?? OR ARE YOU JUST PROSELYTIZING!?!??!!#Fuck off fuck offffffffffff
