I would like the sons and bowlers thoughts please
Under the cut bc it’s soooo long lmao
Things in sons and bowlers that make me crazy (in no particular order)
1)The idea that daniel pierce shields hawkeye from things that he thinks will hurt him psychologically and actively tries to distract him with kindness/good things i.e. making him elaborate breakfasts while his mom was dying in the hospital and downplaying the extent of her illness. I think this is so interesting bc we’ve often seen hawkeye deflect with jokes/go out of his way to help people inside and outside of OR and make sacrifices to do so/ downplay the extent of his own pain/trauma in order to avoid inconveniencing people and the idea that this is a behavior he learned as a child, way before the war is a major clue to the events in GFA
He doesn’t deal with his trauma, he minimizes it to the point of repression and convinces himself things are alright! He’s become his father! That blows my mind idk
2) hawkeye just has his dad and his dad just has him! We saw in where there’s a will that he leaves everything to his father but this really drives home how much hawkeye loves his dad. Like i think part of why this makes me crazy is that i have daddy/mommy issues but i feel like for hawkeye this is a big character beat that people overlook. He’s not like the others at the unit in that they all have families/career aspirations/grounded support systems to return to and for hawkeye all he’s got is his dad and he really finds his support system in the MASH…and yeah he’s a workaholic and a brilliant surgeon but he’s also the kind of person who thrives on human connection and cannot live without his connections to those around him. Like hawkeye is all heart AGH what happens when someone like that is removed from a place where they formed deep connections?
Also the fact that he’s like iv’e said ily but what if he doesnt know i mean it like man u really don’t expect people to listen to what u say
3) back on daniel, sorry but i love food/mealtime/cooking themes with hawkeye too and the fact that shared, homemade breakfasts were his father’s symbol of love and protection just makes the absence of good food at the MASH even more devastating. I also see hawkeye as someone who can disassociate from his body easily (the drinking, the sleeping around, the constant sniffing of food/not eating if it isn’t appetizing/ going long periods without sleep and insomnia, the manic episodes/psych problems) so the reconnection of family to food is important here too! Like i’m going to get to charles but the fact that he tells the story about feeling tested at dinner and his related food associations, i think it’s really telling that in contrast we get hawkeye and daniel talking about the good times they had eating dinner together
4) brief margaret tangent i like that this is a reversal of the early seasons trope of her sleeping with someone for some plot/ulterior motive and now when potter asks her if she’ll do that she’s like fuck off and then uses the guy for bowling tips and not sex lol i just think it’s a succient way to show her development over time and i also love when she gets to do sporty/more traditionally masculine things and not be dunked on for it
5) bj and charles scheming idk i love this in any episode i like that they bring out the evil asshole in each other i find it funny and charming they’re my faves for a reason i think dos and mike are both soooo talented
6) the contrast between charles’ home life and hawkeye’s and how thats shaped them. i ‘m really interested in the similarities between charles and hawk i think they have similar backgrounds and similar drive/talent/pressure to be surgeons and be the best at what they do/similarly desperate desire for connection with people/to art and music and theater etc. and they can be similarly overconfident/stubborn it just manifests so differently in their behaviors. I feel like this is one of the few times we see them acknowledge each other as people and put aside their differences in order to support each other idk u know i love a charles plotline im human
7) speaking of supporting people! Also crazy about bj’s progressive loss of the ability to provide hawkeye with emotional support and here he doesn’t even know hawkeye was struggling bc hawkeye’s like don’t tell anyone ! he doesn’t want to tell his best friend his problems bc bj doesn’t help him with things like that. And in fact telling bj might be something that sets bj off further like every day this man’s mental health is crumbling he’s hanging on by a thread and hawkeye knows this, more finale set up that’s so subtly done i love it
7.5) also the fact that if daniel’s surgery had gone badly this would be another hawkeye doesn’t get a real goodbye situation (.i.e his mom, trapper, henry, carlye, tommy, kyung hee, bj etc.) whyyyy do they do this
8) there’s bowling like come on are u serious i love bowling and they’re so cute bowling

Today, I brainstormed ideas for how I would continue and conclude Mao Mao. Chances are, none of what I'm about to write is even close to how Parker and the writers intended it to go. But at this point, if I wanna know how this story ends, I'm probably just gonna have to write my own conclusion. (Maybe the show will continue, maybe it won't. I'm just saying.)
Anyway, I'd have the show end after four seasons, and this is how I imagine they'd play out...
Season 2:
-More of the usual stuff. So there's more monster fighting, more Sky Pirate fighting, and more shenanigans around the valley.
-We also find out more about Mao Mao's past, and more about Badgerclops and Adorabat's pasts as well. Therefore, we learn more about characters like the Thicket Thieves and Sonara and Eugene.
-Maybe we get a little bit of history from Sky Pirates as well.
-There are also new characters who come in with both flashbacks and present appearances. For example, in this season, we introduce the sisters and Mao Mao's mom. Maybe each sister has their own episode with the sheriffs, or they're all introduced together in one ep. (I'd have Alina, the name I gave Contacts Sister, be introduced last, personally.)
-In either mid-late Season 2 or early Season 3, Adorabat turns 6, and at her birthday party, she receives her first weapon from Mao and BC as their present for her; at this point, she has enough experience as a hero to get one. I had the idea that her weapon is a shield.
-I also thought of, like, an episode where there's a 1-year anniversary celebration of when Mao Mao and Badgerclops first came to Pure Heart Valley or something.
-At some point in Season 2 or 3, some of the other pirates such as Steel Wing and Thunder Fist come back, too. In fact, the trend of recurring characters is gonna keep going on, and this is mainly because I wanted to see more of characters like Bao Bao and Tanya Keys.
Season 3:
-In this season, we finally find out what the heck is going on with the Ruby Pure Heart.
-Maybe it has something to do with a past ruler before King Snugglemagne, and how he went to extreme lengths to make everything better in the kingdom (because a prominent theme within the show is that you're enough the way you are). But it backfires, so maybe his successor or someone decided to hide the valley away from the world for its own good, and that's why it was cloaked.
-We also get an explanation as to what makes Pure Heart Valley legendary and a further look into why Orangusnake wants the Ruby Pure Heart.
-Also, Season 3 is when we meet Badgerclops' family. He's seen Mao Mao and Adorabat patch things up with their families, and they're still doing that, so he's thinking, "Hm. If they can do it, maybe I can too." So yeah- BC is doing that.
-All the while, Mao Mao is still working things out with his parents and sisters. I think that the sisters are revealed to also have issues, but Mao Mao's helping them overcome their problems with what he's learned.
-Also, Shin Mao has been thinking about everything he's done to his kids since he visited his son, and he's starting to want to make it up to them, even if he knows they're most likely not going to forgive him. It's still worth a shot, though, and he at least wants to try.
-Adorabat is reconnecting with her dad and other possible relatives she has. I like the idea of her telling her relatives about her adventures and heroic stuff, and maybe she does this during the 6th birthday party episode I brought up earlier.
-To expand on the worldbuilding, perhaps there are other places in the world mentioned. Like, for example, maybe there are places of legend or whatever that have the spade, club and diamond in them (because Pure Heart Valley's got the heart).
-Whatever the case is, I think of this being a season where things start to look up for Mao Mao and the gang, but then, it all goes downhill.
-I had this idea that since the Ruby Pure Heart was broken, and then when Orangusnake blasted it that one time, a spirit awoke within the gem. It's probably the spirit of the corrupt king I mentioned earlier who tried so hard to make everything better than it was, but I dunno.
-The spirit reveals himself and then begins his evil plan. Maybe, I don't freaking know... he's gonna grant people's greatest wishes and then use those wishes to harm them, like he did to Adorabat. And it's not just Pure Heart Valley he's gonna corrupt- he's also coming for the rest of the world.
-When Orangusnake and the pirates learn about this, they're like, "On second thought, maybe we're better off doing other pirate stuff..." But the Pure Heart spirit is like, "Well, you wanted to steal the Ruby I came from to become legendary so people would worship you, so now that's what you're gonna do."
-Oh my god, this is AWFUL... So, the stuff above with the spirit and the pirates happens in the Season 3 finale. And because I have no original ideas, I think of it ending Amphibia/Owl House style.
-That is to say, in an intense turn of events, the sheriffs are forced to flee Pure Heart Valley. And because the spirit is starting to take over and corrupt everything, a bunch of evil people are now out to get them, including the Sky Pirates. The spirit possessed them, by the way.
Season 4:
-Mao Mao and Badgerclops are back to traveling around the world and fighting evil. In other words, they're back to square one, pretty much, but it's not the same as it was before because Adorabat's with them.
-The trio travels through a bunch of lands fighting beasts and stopping crimes and stuff, as well as trying to figure out how to stop the Ruby Pure Heart spirit.
-One of the lands they visit happens to be Badgerclops's hometown.
-Eventually, they wind up in the mountains Mao Mao grew up in. When they get there, the entire Mao family has gathered to discuss the current situation, and they're noticeably in distress.
-To spice things up a little more, maybe the sisters' weapons stop working. They lose their powers, and so they freak out.
-If he hasn't done this already, Shin reveals his true size to the rest of the family and apologizes to everyone, admitting that what he did was horrible. The responses are mixed to negative, but he's okay with it because he knew he'd get what's coming for him eventually.
-I thought of a moment where the sheriffs go to a hot spring at some point.
-So, our heroes know that they'll have to "look inside their hearts" (in the words of Zeus from Hercules) in order to save the world and stuff. The character's arcs are being nicely tied up with a bow.
-And I guess Mao Mao, at this point, maybe still wants to be a legend and all that, but not as badly now 'cause he is finally realizing that he's perfectly fine as he is. And BC and Adorabat are realizing that they're okay as they are, too. They're understanding now that maybe they don't need people to love them. 'Cause if you remember, in Lonely Kid, little Mao Mao said that if he becomes a hero, then people will like him. But now, adult Mao Mao knows he doesn't need that.
-So, when the time comes to return to Pure Heart Valley, the gang decides that they're going to take on the Pure Heart spirit as they are. They don't need any upgrades, but they do get some cool-looking armor just for the fun of it.
-When they get there, it's like an apocalyptic wasteland being watched over by a tyrannical spirit, and King Snugglemagne got kicked out of his castle, so he's really in a jam. Maybe, to continue on the point I mentioned earlier, the Sweetypies wished upon the Ruby Pure Heart spirit for something they really wanted, but it went horribly wrong.
-The Sweetypies are, of course, fearing for their lives (except for Pinky), but in the end, they all decide to band together and battle alongside the sheriffs. The spirit's up there saying that Mao Mao will never be a hero or whatever, but they're all coming together to prove him wrong because, despite his flaws, Mao Mao and his crew have really helped them out.
-Characters like Tanya Keys, Bao Bao and others come to the kingdom to join the fight as well. This includes the new characters introduced earlier, like the people from the other lands.
-It proves to be a challenging battle because, thanks to the spirit's corruption, the monsters are stronger, and the Sky Pirates are stronger because they're possessed.
-I also think that, at some point, they battle the Sky Pirates and free them from possession. Perhaps Camille and Honey gave them a magic tool that does that.
-Also, maybe the Sky Pirates reluctantly agree to briefly ally with the sheriffs to fix everything because they don't really want to steal the Ruby Pure Heart anymore. The sheriffs are like, "Alright, fine, but we're going to go back to kicking your butts when this is all over."
-The series finale is probably made up of multiple parts. It's epic, it's suspenseful, and it's exciting. It's the sheriffs battling the evil spirit that came from the Ruby Pure Heart, with the friends they've made along the way (cheesy, I know) helping them.
-The sisters and Shin Mao come in to help at some point. The sisters each have their own reasons. As for Shin, he still wants to do something right for once in his life.
-At one point in the fight, the spirit tries to get in Mao Mao's head, telling him that he can make him a legend. Maybe it shows him, like, a vision akin to the fantasies he had at the beginning of the show. He's like, "Come on. Isn't this what you've always wanted?"
-Mao Mao is kind of tempted. But then, he gives this badass speech about how he's already got everything he wants, and how he's being a hero not because people will like him, but because he wants to be there for his loved ones. He cares for them so, so much. "No. I already have everything I've always wanted. I'm enough as I am. I don't want to be a 'legendary hero.' I want to be a hero of pure heart!" (See what I did there?) So then, he goes in his Golden Truth form and finishes the job.
-When the dust finally settles, Mao Mao falls from the Ruby Pure Heart, and Badgerclops catches him as the sun rises in the background. He and Adorabat notice that Mao's not in one piece because, in the heat of battle, he lost his right hand.
-Yeah, you heard me right. Mao Mao loses a hand! There's none of that fakeout death biz. There are actual heroic sacrifices, and people die. Thankfully, it's not one of the main three. I'm thinking that Shin Mao sacrifices himself.
-Here's all the stuff that happens next. So, maybe, once the spirit is defeated, they have a chance to fix the Ruby Pure Heart. But if they do, they won't need to be there, so they decide not to.
-Whatever occurs, this valley is where Mao Mao, Badgerclops and Adorabat want to be, and it's where they know they belong. So, they choose to permanently live in Pure Heart Valley together.
-Mao Mao probably gets, like, a robotic hand, and Badgerclops is thrilled that they're Robot Limb Buddies.
-The sisters invite Mao Mao and his friends on an awesome family adventure together, and they accept. I want Mao Mao to have this, guys. I mean, he's long overdue. He deserves it. But like I said, he wants to stay in Pure Heart Valley, so once they're done, he's heading back there. His sisters promise they'll visit him.
-People are, of course, talking about Shin Mao's "noble" sacrifice. But, as the years pass, more attention is drawn to how Mao Mao and his friends deserve praise as well. And, you know, it ends with them having fun around the kingdom and being the heroes they are.
-Maybe the very last scene is an older Adorabat remembering her childhood. She's at her happiest because all her dreams have come true. She calls up Mao Mao and BC to thank them for showing her how to be a hero, in a way that matches the theme song.
And that's it! I know what you're thinking- this writing is absolutely TERRIBLE. Like I said, folks, this is only how I personally would continue the show. Maybe we'll get more of it someday, but we'll just have to wait and see.

grunge rewatches midsomer murders pt 2
full disclosure: I'm mostly knitting and kind of watching bc I'm still rotted only season 1 of Little Mosque on the Prairie is available on prime & if I want to watch the rest I have to sign up for Disney+
but anyway, here's pt 2 of That Corpse Is Breathing Pretty Deeply Fellas You Sure She's Dead?
2x01 Death's Shadow
opening with a flashback. always a good omen. Gerald/Liam started with a flashback and that episode was fucking wild man
Judy Parfitt...Judy Parfitt...
I know I could look her up but I want to be surprised by how I know her
no Joyce don't fall victim to the wedding industrial complex
OH
SISTER MONICA JOAN
OF COURSE IT'S SISTER MONICA JOAN
I FUCKING LOVE SISTER MONICA JOAN
ahh good old Badger's Drift
all the good murders happen in Badger's Drift
"the head bounced into the hall" yikes
I knew there was a beheading in Badger's Drift I just got the episodes mixed up
why are there so many abusive husbands in these villages
well that hymn definitely isn't shared with the UCC
and we're back in the One And Only Lawyer's Office Set
oh that's a good murder
so dramatic and intense
love it
that corpse definitely isn't breathing
no lungs left
side effect of being burned to a crisp
please tell me someone's going to get an arrow through the neck
Chekhov's quiver
fine I'll settle for an arrow in the back
a character called Fletcher getting killed by a bow & arrow. beautiful
*gets caught in bed with a 19yo man* "I am not a homosexual, it disgusts me" baby boy... let me introduce you to the concept of internalized homophobia
"we never meant to hurt him" YOU LYNCHED A CHILD
WHY WOULD YOU PUT A NOOSE AROUND A CHILD'S NECK AND MAKE HIM STAND ON A RICKETY CHAIR ON UNEVEN GROUND IF YOU NEVER MEANT TO HURT HIM
gotta love it when the corpses don't breathe. such a rarity on this show
2x02 Strangler's Wood
only rated 13+? that doesn't bode well
this is the episode that was on PBS the other day that made me want to rewatch the series
they censored the word "shit"
idk why you can't say "shit" after 9pm on American television
anyway...let the commentary commence
if I didn't know that was Phyllis Logan I wouldn't believe it
11yo boys in the woods before school is never good
grown ass man can't take care of himself
stop infantalizing your husbands challenge 1998
ahh there's some good old fashioned victim blaming
I do appreciate a good Obvious Red Herring
I think one of the writers has a choking fetish
that comment's gonna get me some bots isn't it
"help my son is gay" "get a life"
I know I only watched this the other day but I already forget if they address why Kate Merrill recognizes Troy's name
like obviously he's written to her agony column, at least that's how they're setting it up, but I don't remember if they actually address it
"she's being dying for about 6 years now. we're getting used to it"
hey it's a Jenny Lind bed! *proceeds to sing Heave Away on loop in my head*
Come get your duds in order cause we're bound to cross the water
Heave away me jollies heave away
Come get your duds in order cause we're bound to leave tomorrow
Heave away me jolly b'ys we're all bound away
it's just not the same without Connor Bedard
what is with the kids in these villages? is there something in the water that makes them all psychopaths?
the continuity in this show is *chef's kiss*
gotta reference every previous case always
...is this what straight men find attractive?
is that cigarette ad supposed to be sexy?
I love the Terrible American Accent that is specific to shows like this
got distracted by making a knitting pattern more complicated than it needs to be because intentionally stressing myself out over a lace wedding veil is more interesting than rewatching an episode I just saw like 2 days ago
I'll try to be more focused for the next ep but for now it's eurovision performances and then bed
2x03 Dead Man's Eleven
ah fuck it's cricket themed I'm gonna be completely out of my depth
full disclosure: it's nearly 40c (104f) and I don't have air conditioning so if my computer (or my brain) overheats, the commentary will be brief
like this
nearly 20mins in and I have no clue what's going on because my brain is soup
haunted museum? 350-year-old family feud? that's all I've got
something about smoked mackerel
good god the sound on my parents tv is fucking awful
the music and screaming are painfully loud but the dialogue is barely audible
I get that Sandra is traumatized and all but jesus everything she says is a piercing shriek
wait a minute
the episode description mentioned cricket
why is there no cricket yet?
I want to steal my cat's cooling mat
can I make it through the last 30 minutes before taking a nap?
why am I not intrigued by this episode? is it boring? is it the difficult-to-hear dialogue making the episode hard to follow even with captions? is it the heat making it impossible to focus? we may never know
hard to tell if the corpse is breathing when it's buried
good lord that was the longest 7 minutes of my life how is there still 23 minutes to go?
*makes impatient "wrap it up" gesture*
OH MARTYR WARREN. it's a place!
I thought they've been saying Marta since 1x01
I assumed they were talking about a person who lived in Midsomer
someone everyone knows, runs a cute little shop or something, pillar of the community, everyone's nan kind of person
one of those characters who's always referenced but never seen. like Villix'pran or Captain Boday on DS9
apparently this is actually 3x04 Beyond The Grave. the real 2x03 has a really great cast (Imelda Staunton, Annabelle Apsion, Robert Hardy, Toby Jones). can't tell you who any of these folks are though
3 minutes left...
of course they read daily mail
but at least they're critical of it
ok nap time. summer is the worst.
2x04 Blood Will Out
the heat broke and my parents have gone out so I get the good tv tonight. let's wrap up season 2
Martyr Warren. of course it's set in Martyr Warren
this ep is about Travellers, it's gonna be culturally insensitive isn't it?
who is this guy
OH
he's Gibbs from Pirates of the Carribean
Hector Bridges reminds me of Dr Bombay
ok so far this isn't as bad as I expected
there's still an hour and a half to prove me wrong though
like yeah there are townspeople who are being dicks but so far the police have just said "please don't litter and please leave when you said you would"
"I'm not kinky"
no shit Troy
you're so repressed vanilla is too spicy for you
and that's coming from me
Barnaby gets points for the casual use of the singular they
please tell me those are not morris dancers in blackface
I do appreciate that the rich bigots are the baddies here and not the travellers like you would expect from a nearly 30 year old show
also appreciate the widow not grieving her abusive husband
"the killer did us a favour"
Wife Swap: version 2.0
ah there we go
Troy being the asshole we know and hate
love me some gossipy bitches gossiping about murder over a game of scrabble
this is some spec ops shit isn't it
nope not spec ops just a corrupt commander
Troy may be as kinky as a slice of wonder bread, but the writers of this show are definitely into some shit
or has AO3 just completely ruined me and I see kink where there is none?
"I made the classic mistake of not believing you had been abused" a cop making a good and sincere apology? I'm shocked
murdering someone with a shotgun while dressed in all white is a bold move girl
well that's season 2 over and done with I guess. see you back here for season 3.

Top Ten Reasons why I like Season 3 of Big Hero 6 the Series
yeah Ik that most of us wish it was more developed n’ stuff. But I see it as like some fun epilogue stories as Season 2 was a really good way to end the show, and Season 3 is just some wacky summer adventures!
And with the manga out at this point, well who knows if it’ll get to future seasons like 2 or 3! But thought I’d look back at the series bc it’s amazingness is what kept me still going as a bh6 fan And watching a funny Season 3 ep always brightens your day
And it’s best to look at the bright side of things so this is why I’m typing this n.n (this is isn’t in order from best to least best its just me ranting about 10 things)
List will be under the cut, hope you enjoy n.n
---
1. The chibi clips. I mean I wish they did more of them as they’re one of my favorite comedy segments of this comedy-heavy season of the series, and it’s really cute seeing the gang in chibi style. Not to mention the chibi ep of the series was just SO funny and the fact that they used the word “chibi” and even made a chibi-themed song that’s so catchy it’ll get stuck in your head XD
2. The singing and 4 2 Sing. They’re both musical related so *shrug* And I LOVE it! The goofiness most of the songs have is just hilarious, and even the Kara--*cough* I mean Krei-Oke episode had some callbacks to bh6-exclusive songs! And also 4 2 Sing are just so funny, I was a little worried that in their preview we saw, they would be malicious in their ways (and no one likes an evil boy band) but I’m glad they’re just genuinely dense and silly to boot! Although now I have the idea for an evil boy band that would be their dastardtly rivals...
3. The robot family. NBB as a main villian would be odd in a normal season, but it’s fitting for a funny season! And his 3 sisters each are amazing. I’ve actually written a one-shot about the potential family dynamic of the bots, and I just love their little quirkiness and relationship with eachother! I’m glad that they’re still together at the end!
4. Mini-Max character development! I know some people aren’t the biggest fans of Mini-Max, as he’s kind of more of a token marketable character ig... he does have funny lines. But I’m rly glad they gave him character!
5. Villain redemption arcs! Not just Sparkles, that was interesting (and led me to my theory that Sycorax was so... Sycorax that it made everyone involve quit villainy or lesson their villain stuff in Momakase’s case) but in the ep “Gogo the Woweroo” it was nice seeing how some of the other villains are doing. LIKE HV! OMG I WAS SO HAPPY THAT ITS CANON THEY’RE REFORMED! (It was a little tiring seeing fics of them as villains after COM, no offense or anything n.n;)
6. Karmi! This one is obvious bc OMG it was SO good seeing her again! And she and Hiro have a goofy friendship. I like how its up to interpretation if their feelings are platonic or romantic (I’ve become more of a platonic shipper) and the fact she helped save the day against Hardlight! If the series continues, maybe there will be a character arc of Karmi becoming Lab Lady and being a superhero!
7. Cheers you up! Whenever I’m sad or a day has been really bad for me... a season 3 and it will guarantee putting a smile back on my face, say what you will about the excessive comedy in S3, but it always makes me happy after a rly long day or a bad moment
8. The new characters. Sure they didn’t show up long, but they made a good impression! Cobra was a another long-time villain who’s got some charm and conniving schemes. Olivia’s a comic dork who enjoys the non-mainstream stuff and that’s a mood. Rishi: gremlin and also precious dork who probably has consumed too many memes and is just a gremlin kid and I love him XD.
9. Seeing what other characters are up to. Like seeing how Globby is, (and him and Felony Carl still being roomies aaaaa), the ep with Wendy,,, even seeing Granville again twice (including her fur babies so cute!) It was nice getting closure for those characters before the series ended, sure not everyone we know and love showed up in Season 3, but it was nice seeing how the others in San Fransokyo were doing this summer
10. The found family. Obviously my favorite. I just cried at the part where Baymax told NBB that Hiro was his family and asked him to help save his family, NBB might’ve hated Big Hero 6 at that time, but he understood the important of family. And basically Baymax and Mini-Max have a brotherly bond!! and also the nerd gang friendship omg ;-; and Aunt Cass says it herself, you don’t have to be related to be a family! I still love and cherish my bio family, but I really see a lot of my close fandom friends and other ppl I know as family too, and it’s nice to see that with Hiro and Aunt Cass, they still have each other as fam, but they also love and cherish the new members they have, like the nerd gang and even the robot fam (wonder what kind of shenanigans Hiro would get into w/ his new robotic cousins)
Hope you guys enjoyed my little list, and it helped you think on the good stuff season 3 had. Sure it could’ve been better, and it deserved to have a proper season and it was unfair the show got cancelled, but there’s always a silver lining n.n

Cold. That was the first thing that Olivia’s brain processed.
Still with her eyes closed, she buried herself more into the duvet, while her arm blindly reached for the furnace in human form that she calls boyfriend. However, as soon as her arm was only met with cold sheets, her eyes shot open.
Blinking the sleep away, she sat up on the bed, searching for the infamous red clock resting on Ashton’s bedside table that was supposed to look like a vintage alarm clock. Olivia had ordered it online at an auction website a couple of years back, as a gift for his 23rd birthday, since it was something he had mentioned multiple times prior that he was looking for, but still hadn't found. But when it finally came in (two weeks after the due date), it looked nothing like the picture she saw on the website. Feeling beyond frustrated, she wanted to send it back immediately and ask for a refund and maybe leave a not so polite review on the seller's page. But Ashton stopped her right away, laughing like the situation was absolutely hilarious to him, while saying, 'I like it, it’s quirky'. So, the clock stayed and found a home right next to him in their room.
Some days, however, she would wake up at some ungodly hour because of the blaring noise of the only ringtone the clock had. But whatever annoyance she could feel towards the object, it always vanished as soon as she felt Ashton's lips gently touching her face in a good morning kiss before he would get up to start his day, leaving her to catch some more hours of well deserved sleep.
As the furthest from a morning person as a touring musician could possibly be, Olivia had always feared that living under the same roof as Ashton would turn her into an early bird like him, but she's thankful that it never happened (not that he needs to know about that).
When she sees the red clock, she smiles at the sudden but welcome memories of them flooding her foggy brain, but frowns slightly when she realizes it reads 12:13 pm. Ashton rarely lets her sleep past 10 am.
Gathering all her strength and will, she rises up from the bed, smoothly picking up a grey wool sweatshirt from the chair (way too baggy on her slim body, but it smells like him), pulling it over her head and relishing on the soft material warming up her body. Making her way to the door and calmly going down the stairs, she can’t help but stop for a minute to admire the picture frames on their walls, one in particular catches her attention – probably one of the most prized pictures and memories they had. It felt older than it actually is, but it was around 4 years ago, she's sure – a little while after the two of them met. The picture was of their group of friends that still remains the same: Ashton and his best friend, Luke; Olivia, her best friend, Calum and their old hometown friend, turned into Calum’s new friend at college, turned into everyone’s friend, Michael; and her then newly band members, Suki, Eli and Ravi. Together, their group was the life of the party through all their college years, and it showed by the big smiles and drinks in hands they all had in the picture. It was a very special night, the first time Olivia’s little band played for the public – for a small audience sure, but it was a wonderful night nonetheless. What a long road it had been since that night.
Her nostalgic thoughts were interrupted by a shiver that went through her whole body, and it made her realize how oddly cold the whole house was, not only their bedroom. Which, granted, it was November in New York and the weather was just getting colder, but that’s exactly why Ashton always made sure to keep the house warm enough. As much as she loved the chilly season, the warm weather always reminded him of his hometown, and who was she to deny him that?
The smell of fresh made coffee could be sensed even before she reached the kitchen. Arriving there, the curly haired woman still found no signs of her boyfriend, so she went straight after the coffee maker pot sitting on the far left corner of the cream marble counter. Smiling softly at the tons of memories of Ashton's sleepy figure making their favorite beverage, she reached for a coffee mug on the cupboard on top of the counter and poured the remainder of the hot liquid on it (it's her favorite mug, if she must choose – it was a gift from a fan, and it had printed on it a collage of the pictures of her and Ashton that were posted on social media through their first year of relationship).
Moving to the glass doors that lead to the mini garden they cultivate, she didn't have to open them to spot the 6-feet-tall man sitting on a bench outside, looking oddly small in his oversized clothes, coffee mug tightly held between strong hands. Something about his figure made Olivia frown, however: he was staring with an unwavering look at her small but eye-catching pot of yellow daffodils that were almost as much of a pet to them as Stitch at this point. Sensing that there’s something definitely off about his semblance, she made a mental note to talk to him and find out what’s wrong later. So she goes back to the kitchen, knowing that he might need this quiet and private moment for himself.
She lost count of the minutes that went by (couldn't have been more than five) before she hears the garden's door opening and closing, and then his bare feet are dragging his brawny body to her. Except, he goes over to the sink, walking right through her, not showing any sign that he even saw her hunched figure over the counter table in the middle of the room.
Alright, someone's in a mood.
Olivia tries to swallow the annoyance already bubbling inside her – he knows how much she hates to be ignored, no matter how mad he might be – by trying to think of what she can say that won't piss him off. This is always a hard feat to accomplish when Ashton gets in these moods, but there’s a reason for them to work so well together.
“I missed my favorite body heater when I woke up,” she says in her best sweet voice, knowing how quickly his resolve crumbles when he hears that voice.
Still, no reaction.
That settles a worry at the pit of her stomach, because Ashton is never like this. Even when he's not in the mood to talk, he always gives some kind of reaction to her words; it doesn't matter how small, just enough to make her feel acknowledged.
When he's finished washing his mug and the few scattered dishes across the sink – she noticed that he already had lunch, if the lone plate in the drying rack is anything to go by –, he dries his hand in a towel, turns around and throws it on top of the same counter Olivia was leaning up against. Once again, he walks away not even sparing her a look.
Indignant, she leaves the now empty coffee mug on top of the table and follows him as he walks up the stairs, any determination to not aggravate his mood now well gone.
“Hey! In case you didn't notice, I'm right here. Whatever got you in this sour mood, I'm certainly not to blame, so can you stop being a child now and talk to me?!”
Ashton just keeps walking – more like sluggishly dragging his body – until he reaches their bedroom and suddenly stops just merely two feet inside the room, looking around with vacant eyes; like he was expecting to see something that wasn't there.
“Okay, that's really mature of you. Are you planning on ignoring me all day then?” Olivia questions exasperated, staring angrily at the back of his neck, where the condor tattoo lives – her favorite of his, but that sight doesn't bring her any peace today like it usually does.
Her glare only breaks when she hears the familiar sound of dog tags swaying on her right side. Shifting her gaze to the direction of the sound, Olivia notices Stitch, their small, black & white French bulldog – who she thought was outside in the garden – slowly trudging his way from around the bed until he stops at Ashton's feet, looking up at one of his humans with sad eyes. That realization only makes the worry in her stomach grow uncomfortably.
“Hi buddy,” Ashton's voice cracks a bit from the lack of use, but he smiles softly at the sweet dog, and crouches down to pet him.
Olivia can't help but gasp as she notices three things all at once that leave her overwhelmed: first, how she didn't even notice Stitch was in the room when she woke up – which never ever happens, in fact, most days he wakes her up whenever he deems her bedtime as finished and can't ever contain his excitement when she finally gets up; second, how the windows blinds are closed, which, again, rarely occurs under their roof, not if Ashton can help it. And third, how sad and melancholic the whole scene in front of her is – how sad and melancholic Ashton is. Pointless to say by now – that's also a very rare occasion.
A chill creeps up Olivia's spine, putting her body into high alert and also serving as a reminder of how everything looks out of place today. Trying to keep her head from spiraling down way too soon, she wraps her arms around herself and crouches down beside her two favorite boys, trying once more.
“Ash? Can you hear me?” even with her throat closing, she softly asks, purposefully putting her face in Ashton's point of view. Her only answer is the low whispers he's letting out to Stitch, while cradling the tiny dog in his arms, spreading gentle kisses on his head.
“I know, bud, I know. I miss her too,” is the only whisper she could understand and immediately wishes she hadn't. The weak wail that comes from Stitch's throat seems to fit perfectly with how the three of them feel.
Ashton then looks up and for a couple of seconds, and Olivia can swear he’s staring right into her eyes. But when he shows no reaction, she knows he’s just staring ahead and not at her, with that look that says there’s too much going on inside his head. She feels the urge to embrace him and get him to talk about whatever is on his mind, so they can share that weight like they always do, but when Ashton gets up from the ground and settles on the bed with Stitch, Olivia can physically feel the crack in her heart caused by the feeling she’s left with.
While Ashton is pulling the duvet over him and the dog, with clearly no intentions of getting up anytime soon, Olivia stands up on her feet with a new-found determination – she needs to figure out what the hell is going on.
This nightmare had to be just that, right? Nothing but a very vivid dream – she's had those before. Scary sure, but they always go away, and soon enough she's back into Ashton's arms, with Stitch jumping on the bed ready to lick their faces off. She just needs to wake herself up from whatever fucked up dream this is – right?
She's running down the stairs this time, frantically in search of something, of what exactly, she doesn’t know – but she knows she needs an answer. The more she looks for something, the more desperate she gets, not knowing what to look for. Then suddenly, something catches her eyes.
The white and blue calendar that's held up by magnets on the side of the fridge. She knows their calendar is red and yellow. They got it from their favorite flower market. Slowly, as if scared of what it might be there – “It's just a calendar, for fucks sake” – she approaches the damn thing. Upon inspection, she deems it as a normal calendar – she really doesn't know what she was expecting – until.
She knows what's wrong with it now.
It's November. She knows it, because the Asian and last leg of her first world tour is about to begin November 21st, eleven days from today. Right after Mike's birthday, she knows this.
Then why does the calendar say today is January 14th?
☆ ☆ ☆
Ashton woke up with a jolt. He quickly sat up, frightening the little Frenchie that was asleep right next to him on the bed. Trying to make sense of his surroundings, he roughly rubbed his face to get some sleep off of it and soon reached for the dog that was staring at him with sleepy but sad eyes. Ashton is sure Stitch understands far more than a dog is supposed to understand about their current situation.
The room is covered in shadows, almost pitch black, but he can see the sunlight even through the thick dark grey blinds covering up the windows. Ashton knows he won't be able to sleep again at that moment, so he gets up from the bed – much slower than he used to. His heartbeat is still out of control because of the nightmare that woke him up, but he can't bother to pay attention to it when Stitch is softly wailing beside him. Ashton lets out a ghost of a smile when the dog rests his head on his right upper thigh, looking up at him with an expression Ashton knows all too well.
“C'mon you little ravenous creature, let's feed you,” the bulldog excitedly jumps to the ground, already running his way down the stairs, not even waiting for Ashton to get up.
That gets a real smile out of him, but it vanishes as soon as he glances at the alarm clock on his bedside table. It reads 5:13 am, nothing out of the ordinary for him. But that small and inoffensive clock, with its red paint peeling off, holds a lot of memories for him. Memories that two months ago would bring joy to his heart, but now he almost wants to throw the object across the room.
It was a stupid thing, really. He had been wanting a vintage alarm clock and Olivia got one for his birthday. But the product they received was definitely not the one she bought, and if he's being honest, he didn't like it as much as he made out to. But seeing her so excited in the weeks before it arrived, and how disappointed she was when it did, he couldn't help but try his best to make her smile that luminous smile again. It's part of his nature by now.
That's also the reason why he lets her think that he doesn't notice when she wakes up at some ungodly hour (her words, not his) along with him, because of the annoying and only sound the alarm clock is able to produce. He always leaves soft kisses in every inch of bare skin he can find on her sleeping figure, so she goes back to the dream land and doesn't wake up before 10 am. No one wants to deal with that kind of bad humor, not even him.
As much as he likes being a morning person and absolutely enjoys her company in the mornings, he knows she'll take any and every extra hour of sleep she can get before starting the day. And that's why he loves that she's so stubborn that his early bird tendencies never got to her – he knows she feared that this would happen when they moved in together, but he met her like this, fell for her like this. He wouldn't change a single thing about her.
Ashton drags himself out of the bed, wincing slightly at how cold the wooden floors are under his bare feet. He doesn't bother putting some socks on, or a sweater – the cold weather in the house is uncharacteristically comforting to him. Nothing feels warm without her anyway.
While descending the stairs, he mentally curses himself for not being strong enough to look past the picture frames on the wall. One in particular catches his eyes – a picture from the night of Olivia's first concert with her band. The memories of that night are still painfully vivid in his mind: the laughter among their group that eventually infected everyone at the pub, Suki and Luke's first kiss and the silly smile that didn't leave his best friend's face all night, the standing ovation Olivia got after her three-songs set, and her captivating and breathtaking smile that made him realize right then and there, while watching her sway to the music, that he was definitely falling in love with her and there was nothing he could do to stop it – not that he wanted to.
So many memories held up on that wall, in the relatively short time since they met, that he can't help but wonder if that's all they'll get in this lifetime.
Ashton is abruptly taken out of his thoughts by Stitch's barks coming from the bottom of the stairs. He quickly jogs down the few steps left and goes straight after the dog's food in the kitchen's cabinet. After Stitch starts to happily devour his breakfast, Ashton goes to make his coffee, doing enough for two people like he always does, since Calum drops by most days for a chat or to drop Duke before going to work. Although all three of them know he just can't bother to make food for himself in the morning, while Ashton is the group's elected chef. Ashton always says he just needs a boyfriend – Olivia says Calum already has one who makes him breakfast every day.
He grabs an apple from the fridge and makes his way outside to their garden. Even though a lot of their memories took place there, the garden is the only space in the house where he doesn't feel like suffocating all the time. At least here, he can breathe some fresh air and look at the sky when he's feeling overwhelmed – which is basically all he's been doing for about a month now.
Yet, a lot of the garden has Olivia's name written all over.
He remembers vividly the day she came home after spending two weeks in LA doing some pocket shows, with a pack of daffodil seeds and the largest smile. She excitedly told him that a friend gifted it to her when she mentioned the little garden they were planning to build together at their new house. The friend told Olivia that daffodils symbolize rebirth and new beginnings, so as the good lover of symbolism that she is, Olivia loved the idea of having those flowers to symbolize their new beginning.
Ashton, on the other hand, wasn't a fan of the flowers at first – he just didn't see the appeal to them. But nonetheless, he indulged her, letting Olivia plant the seeds near the bench they used to sit during the quiet and unrushed afternoons, so they could admire the sunset, and she could happily look at the daffodils.
Pointless to say – the damn flowers grew on him.
Now, however, looking at them without Olivia and her contagious joy next to him, they were back to be as dull as they were before, if not more so.
Still lost inside his head without any sense of how much time went by since he sat down, Ashton doesn't hear the front door closing, and doesn't notice that he's no longer the only person inside the house until someone sits next to him on the bench. Yet, he doesn't show any sign of acknowledgement to them.
A few minutes go by before either of them speaks up.
“Luke said you didn't go to see her yesterday,” Calum starts softly, not wanting to disturb the calmness of the morning.
Ashton takes a few seconds to respond, “No point in doing that.” The black haired man licks his lips while thinking carefully about his next words.
“You know staying inside this house all day by yourself won't help either,” Calum turns his head to his left and takes a good look at Ashton's uncharacteristically hunched over figure, and immediately thinks that anyone can tell this man is not himself anymore. His second thought is that Olivia would hate seeing him like this.
“And what exactly do you expect me to do? Move on with my life like nothing happened? Like I'm not slowly and painfully losing the love of my life? Just because it’s easy for you doesn't mean it's easy for me.”
Calum closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. He knows Ashton doesn't mean it, it's the anger and frustration talking. He knows it. Doesn't make it sting any less.
“I'm not telling you to move on with your life, because that's far from what I'm doing, and I certainly don't expect you to do it. I'm just saying you need to occupy your mind or else–”
“I'll go insane? Think it's a bit too late for that,” Ashton interrupts with a bitter tone that doesn't belong to his usual chirpy voice.
“You know it's not,” Calum sighs and drinks the rest of his coffee, moving his body slightly, so he's facing the blonde man, “I got a job interview for you at that school you talked about so much last summer, the principal said you can go any day this week. I went ahead and sent her your resume as well as explained everything that she needs to know about Olivia, so you don't have to. You just gotta put on some decent clothes and show up.” he sees Ashton's face softening a little and takes it as a victory. A few beats go by and then, “Maybe take a shower too. That's gonna make you feel better.” Calum leans in closer to his friend's personal space and takes a sniff, causing Ashton to deflect from him slightly, but not to push him away – another small win.
“Definitely take a shower, you stink. When was the last time your hair saw shampoo?”
“Fuck off,” is Ashton's only reply to the younger man's inquest. But Calum can see a smile creeping up on the blonde's face, which brings out a smile of his own.
“I'll send you all the details later today,” he checks the hour on the watch on his wrist and gets up, “Just please, Ash, go. I can't lose you too.”
Calum gently lays a hand on Ashton's shoulder and squeezes a little. The man doesn't look up, but gives a curt nod to his friend, who's satisfied enough. Calum stops on the threshold of the garden glass doors to give some kisses to Stitch – who came to make Ashton company as soon as he finished his food –, and then he puts the coffee mug on the dishwater. And soon enough, he's on his way out of the door. But not before snatching a tangerine from the fridge.
Ashton is left by himself once again. As he hears the sound of the front door closing, he thinks that this might be his life from now on. Just him and Stitch, trying their hardest to make it through another miserable day without the love of their lives. While everyone else comes by just to make sure he's still breathing. Breathing, maybe, but alive?
Swallowing the tears, he looks up at the sky. It's a deep, beautiful mix of orange, pink and blue, but he knows that it won't last long and soon the rain will be pouring down. He thinks about how much Olivia loves the rain.
God, he needs to pull himself together. She would hate to see him like this. Maybe he should take Calum's offer after all, he really needs to occupy his mind.
Making a mental note to thank Calum later, and also to apologize for how rude he was to him this morning, Ashton slowly gets up from the bench to put his mug on the sink and makes his way to the living room, with the small dog loyally following his every step. He puts on some cartoon that for once doesn't remind him of her (she always lovingly made fun of him for still watching those) and cuddles with Stitch on the couch. He can take a shower later.
Not half an hour goes by, he falls asleep and has a good dream for a change. He dreams of the days he spent with Olivia in the Philippines last February, right before her first world tour started. Some of the most magical days of their lives – surrounded by delicious food, a whole new culture to learn about and the warmth of the sun. Infinite counted days full of love and passion, where they were the only people in the world.
Even his subconscious knows to hold on to that brief moment of happiness, because he might never live that again.

Going to reply to this right now or i will forget!
So also not sure if i’ll have 8? My viewing habits are all over the place so i’m just going to go with things that either made big impressions on me or were particularly formative
Murder She Wrote— i went through and rewatched the entirety of the series (minus movies bc they weren’t on netflix) about 10 years ago. I have a soft spot for the Agatha Christie style whodunnit, and grew up watching this and Diagnosis Murder, Poirot, Miss Marple, etc. I particularly love Jessica Fletcher because she just went around helping her friends out and absolutely ignoring all romantic advances. The fact that they let her character exist as a single widow and never have a romantic interest (other than the pilot) is kinda astounding, and not something afforded most female characters
Highlander— i would stay up late and watch the Highlander tv series with my mom when i was a little kid because we both thought Adrian Paul was hot (i think this explains a lot)
Farscape— watched a lot of scifi growing up but Farscape is special for me (also probably not a surprise lol). I loved that they went so far outside human for character designs, and is probably my mental archetype of found family. I have not watched it since it originally aired, because i kinda want to let it exist as my memories and not sully it if i don’t like it as much now
X-Files— huge impression on me as a kid, and was devoted until the last few seasons. Was one of my favorite shows as a kid, which then leads to…
DISHONORABLE MENTION: Californication— this is on the list because i hate this show and ended up hate watching the entire series. This show ruined David Duchovny for me. Part of what frustrated me was that i got invested in the characters, there are some actors i really like in the series, but the central premise is just toxic. The fact that is basically his self insert ‘if i stuck with writing instead of acting’ masturbation project makes the whole thing worse.
Pretty Wild— soooooo i watch a lot of reality tv with my friends, so am actually pretty well versed in some series. One of my favorite of all time though is Pretty Wild, because it is this whole meta clusterfuck. It’s short (like 6 episodes) but wild. Basically, it follows some aspiring actress sisters with a former Playmate mom/manager in basically a rip of Kardashians. But, one of the sisters was part of the Bling Ring, and was arrested as they started filming. So what was going to be a ‘watch these sisters try and make it in hollywood’ became ‘oh and one of them is on trial for robbing Orlando Bloom and Paris Hilton’. Fucking wild (they leave it out the bling ring movie bc it makes a wild story even wilder— there is a doc about it that just aired though)
Red Dwarf— my family was really into british comedies/the whole PBS thing and Red Dwarf was/is one of my favorites
COMPELLED TO ADD: Are You Being Served?— reading this list makes me realize how much late night PBS is seared in my brain, and with that in mind, i have to include this. I have probably seen every color episode (and some of the early black and white). The fucking theme song plays in my head every time i go in an elevator. And I am not a huge fan. Love some of the episodes/moments, but more a constant background layer in the house
…yeah that’s a weird list lol. I have no idea who to tag, so if you see this go for it!
eight shows to get to know me. allegedly.
was tagged by @krippe90 but most I can offer are like, less than eight shows lol
Sex and the City - yes, it did not maybe age well, if you wanna go into that, but it was crucial to my teenagehood upbringing. I still think, even if it was commenting mostly on richer women with the writing being overdramatic, it did touch upon some real topics that I still chuckle about to this day lol. Samantha's "Oh - coulda, woulda, shoulda!" is still a great comforting quote to me. (NOT a fan how they changed the writing of the original ending though :Y) First experience watching fictional women just panicking and being as snarky and sexual as they may in media and ehh, still digging it in the depth of my heart. I still think the writing is fun, and it's a time capsule I really like.
Hen Zemi/Hentai Seminar - a lesser known anime I do a rewatch about yearly. It does use quite a bit of shock value, but it has a sense of humour about it that I really like, and swiftly gives those "pervert rejects" empathy. The original manga was never translated to English in full (which I wish it was!), and I kinda dig it's still not very well known.
Fleabag - I have watched it once, but it's still so very well executed from my memory. Especially the end. SPOILERS: Just letting someone go with their own fears, because you can't keep the person as is, and knowing that you letting them go - because it's the right thing to do, even if it hurts - leaves a sad smirk on your face. And a bit of crying on your part. That's growth. God, does that happen. People just sometimes agree to leave. I like that it ended where it ended.
Prince of Coffee - I Am Not Immune to K-Dramas (sometimes). This one is genderfucky, but most of all, very comfy, and warm. I don't think it overstays it's welcome - it had its' moments when it dragged a bit, but the whole cast really just looked like they had a ton of fun. It's a mushy romance I'd be glad to revisit.
Other ones I'm still watching, or didn't finish :P Honorable mentions to: True Blood, and Hart of Dixie. If anime: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, maybe either Ginga or Wolf's Rain, Spy x Family (but that is still ongoing) most I can offer for today! not tagging anyone i'm tired. maybe @h0 or @aholefilledwithtwigs?

thoughts on sensory stuff this got long but also helped? idk I just hope the read more works
:readmore:
so like we've all heard about how the pandemic let a lot of people unmask and now they're struggling to go back to the Before Times of masking (when I say people I am people. grammar consistency be damned for this post)
I interrupt this program to bring you the news that I'm probably autistic. not seeking official diagnosis for Reasons but yeah
anyway I've been realizing this and just better understanding myself the last year or so
and now I'm working at a retail job at a small business where I am alone for like 5+ hours of my 8 hour shift. no coworkers, no manager (I am the manager) just me for most of my day
and I've been dealing with that by having twitch streams going in my office, video calling another store manager for like 2+ hours a day, that kind of thing. well today that system was broken bc I was training someone on her like 5th day (and last bc it didn't work out she just wasn't a good fit) but she was with me for 6 hours of the day. and I still did my video call with the other manager for my first 2 hours. and we had a busy day with customers where a lot of my regulars came in. and it's coming into the holiday season. and the owner stopped by for a few minutes. and another (different) store manager came by with a transfer of inventory for me. and I called my mom on the way home. and I talked to my husband at home before he went to the gym
and I am so overwhelmed with the socializing I've done today that I think laying facedown on the floor for an hour sounds like a good idea
BUT I work tomorrow and I have to clean and do laundry and dishes this evening. and my mom is flying in Thursday morning. and we're going to see my mother in law Thursday afternoon. and I work a 10 hour shift Friday. and I'm probably telling my mom about polyamory this weekend if she asks. and we're going to a theme park Sunday.
anyway the socializing and sensory meltdown is hitting HARD and I just needed to get all of these words out bc really how do I wind down? when do I decompress? I am busy and stressed and my husband helped trim my hair while he was home so I need to shower but I also need to put the laundry in the dryer but I also need to eat dinner but I would PREFER to stop experiencing thoughts and sensations today
also just realized that I did not even once hit my delta vape today (I work at a vape store I'm slightly high at work all the time) and I think that may also have contributed to this state bc I know I have a higher threshold for sensory stuff when I'm high but maybe starting to hit it now would be a bad idea?
AND I took my meds late and I didn't eat lunch and I have to go to the chiropractor tomorrow and pick up my new meds and wash the sheets in the guest room
anyway writing it all out helped so I think I'm gonna go grab a snack and take a shower but sensory things are still a lot and I've already had a good cry for no reason in the middle of writing this out but maybe I need another one in the shower, enhanced by sad music. idk man I tried to put on a twitch stream like normal but it was a too overwhelming so now I'm just silently laying on the bed typing
all this to say
I stopped masking full time this last year and now i apparently just get exhausted and overwhelmed when I have to do it for 8+ hours a day? that's a fun new revelation I'll have to figure out how to mitigate in the future

What were your thoughts on the episodes of this season?
pajama day was an ok start, not very memorable but had a kinda promising plotline that kept it afloat and seeing everyone in pjs was cute! the second ep was enjoyable too, nothing special but the tolkien gag was made stronger by the commitment to the bit (changing online links etc) and my sp parents-loving heart was warmed by steve black being a massive lotr nerd (i wish that he'd done his lotr-themed weed idea in the end tbh)...
still, despite some strong ideas, the writing this season was shockingly bad and at many points it was pretty obvious to me that the season was a low priority for m&t. i have a strong suspicion that it was primarily written by ghost writers, which isn't necessarily a bad thing! i'd love if sp brought in fresh talent to the writing team, but whoever handled these 6 eps seemed to be struggling to find their feet.
city people and back to the cold war were probably the worst eps of the season, with city people being absolutely lacklustre and back to the cold war relying far too heavily on jokes completely empty of substance. it was disappointing and surprising, bc eps with either cartman or butters as a central character are usually really good and i think it's hard to go wrong when playing liane and eric off against each other (or indeed butters and his parents), but they ended up neglecting to properly utilise their strongest characters here. the plot with mr mackey did feel like a suitable commentary on current events and definitely reminiscent of the attitude i have noticed in american adults around me, and was the saving grace of the horse riding episode, which otherwise would have honestly been one of the worst sp episodes in a very long time. i would have liked to have shown in to certain american family members who have been treating the war in ukraine like a personal issue. still, as a european i didn't find it to be anything revolutionary.
the last two eps were the strongest, with the last possibly being my favorite for the season. help, my teenager hates me! was a nice, wholesome main 4 ep, though i thought it felt odd that both eric and randy barely spoke (this has been happening a lot this season though, with certain characters just fading into the bg almost as badly as, historically, kenny has done). eric was forgivable, due to the continuity gag (him being depressed about living in a hot dog), but randy could have had a couple more lines, at least - it's weird to have him there and not talking these days. still, i was really happy to see stuart (!!!) and gerald used, and even jimbo got to make a cool little cameo as eric's stand-in dad. the take on teenagers was pretty funny (them with their heads on the trolleys in the supermarket made me laugh especially - i was totally like that when i was a teenager myself, oh my god, the agony of being taken places you asked to go, the agony of doing literally anything etc etc. also the kid burning himself with the naruto poster behind him... classic).
the "st patrick's day special" was the closest to being "classic sp" levels of enjoyable; it was great to see butters and randy both used well (as a butters fan i hate to say this, but butters is funniest when he's suffering for no reason, and they don't make him suffer enough these days). playing them off each other was a good choice, and something i wish they'd leaned into a bit heavier - they're two of the show's best and most popular characters, but how often do we get to see them interact? the take on st patrick's day itself was kinda unintelligible and the episode wasn't really saying anything that i liked (making light of sexual assault accusations with no clear punchline just felt a bit weird coming from people who hold a lot of power in a notoriously abusive industry... but hey). i have noticed since being in america that americans take to this holiday with a bizarre amount of enthusiasm for people who by and large are about as irish as i am (which is to say: not irish) so the idea that it's secretly a way to celebrate being white felt pretty on the nose to what i've been thinking every time i see all the green shit in stores lol. i liked the thing they did with splicing artstyles at the end for st patrick! i've definitely missed that aspect of the show in recent years.
all in all it was just ok, with some strong moments and a lot more shockingly terrible ones (seriously... some of the writing was just so awful this year that i almost gave up watching halfway through the season). in some ways i do feel like aspects of the show are headed in the right direction, so i'm still excited to see what next season is like, but if it isn't significantly better than this one was, i'm not sure how much longer i'm gonna be bothered to keep watching -_-;;

can i ask for all of the 10?
alrighty *cracks knuckles* imma try my best
warning: lots of rambling under the cut
Merlin Interrupted ok so i explained this wip in another ask but the short version is my OC, Nessa, has entered the playing field (Camelot/Albion) and shakes up the show's plot so much that now we got an early magic reveal, more intel on Morgana's descent, and a new antagonist
Things Dr. Geyer Notices as i'm sure you've noted, i've been sort of venting about this fic bc i was originally intending (i swear, truly) for this fic to be a cute one-shot where over the span of season 4-6, David Geyer (Liam's stepdad) would begin to pick up on the crazy supernatural shit going on. HOW-EVER, i am 3 chapters deep (6.5k words) and only halfway through with this story. *sighs* i am enjoying the fic tho. am i taking creative liberties by inventing my own love story/dynamic with David and Jenna? absolutely! and you would too for the sake of giving Liam the best parents ever. tbh i have more of the 2nd half of this fic imagined than the 1st half (which was why i assumed it would be shorter lol who'da thought?). very excited for when i get to the Wild Hunt 😈
The Heirloom ok, uh, this one is my niche little Lockwood & Co x Teen Wolf (sort of but not really) x OC wip. essentially, Lockwood & Co, a ghost hunting agency run by teens (and teens only. it makes sense in universe i promise) are hired by Nick Bennet (an OC i have for #9 and as you'll notice, i tend to recycle him and another OC for other wips) to find the source of his father-in-law's ghost so that the house/flat that belonged to his late wife. it takes place some time in book 3 of Lockwood & Co because I wanted Holly included but also the drama of Lucy Carlyle's Talent issues (sixth sense thing only children and teens gain to see/hear ghosts). AND, i have Theo there who was adopted by Nick (this will make more sense after i explain #10) who shares the same Talent as Lucy (Hearing) and helps out our lovely band of ruffians. however, as the gang continue to explore the house and its history, they find there's more that meets the eye. news articles are inconsistent about the life the late Lucy Bennet once lived and the relationship her had with her father. both Nick and Theo are partial to this necklace that once belonged to her, but they deny it having any connection to the house and its hauntings.
The Witch & the Knight so this one is an og wip! what i've got so far is a alternate historical fantasy taking place in medieval France. premise is there's this celestial war (angels vs demons, a classic) headed by a Grim Reaper with their trusty gang that consists of a knight in shining armor and 2 witch sisters (one eager to fight the fight and the other trying to pull said eager sister away from the fight). this wip is heavy in its themes, historical research, mythological research, worldbuilding....just, a very ambitious story. i am using it for my final project in my english course bc it gives me the excuse to work on it, and flesh out more of my ideas and concepts. (the big one i'm currently fleshing out is the doomed romance subplot) i have no intention of having this story be 1 novel. it's a series. i can feel it. the war itself in story will be 10 years and the slow burn both for platonic and romantic relationships is super fucking slow. i've written a couple snippets for this wip, but mostly, i'm still in the plotting and planning stage.
A Lucky Network tis me batfam wip! it's a epistolary fic and jumps between outsider pov to simple 3rd pov and 2nd pov. it's got mystery, unreliable narrators, and all that jazz. i've got like 80% if this thing finished just the finale part is all i have left. You have the fic's plot focus on 2 people, Nick and Lucy. Nick is our main pov guy (after Dick) who sort of is in the know about something involving Lucy, but we don't know why. Lucy is our center for all of this chaos. she's why Dick began this investigation into her actions. in the fic, she was taken in by Bruce about 3 or so years after Dick, lived through his angsty teen years, lived with baby jason, had to live with his death, and then have her own angsty arc. there is like 1 batfam ship in the fic, so if that's not your cup of tea, totally fine! but i have lowkey forgotten to update it on ao3 consistently lol. i'll be sure to get back on that.
Basically Mob Boss Lucy this is an og wip but taking a similar premise with #5, recycling my main 2 OCs from there (Nick & Lucy bc they're a packaged deal and married), and placing them in a Mob Boss setting. Lucy in this wip is not adopted by a kind and compassionate but is also emotionally constipated man; rather she gets taken in by some douche who saw her on the street and thought "this would get me so much charity points with the media!" anyway, her life in this story is a lot different with #5 (for one, she's a lot colder and harsher when it comes to treating others that aren't in her inner circle and she's much more sadistic) but i love writing this wip bc i'm getting tired of redemption arcs. i wanna see a girl go batshit and fall into her corruption arc.
The Emrys Shrine greatly inspired by this ask here ok, listen: i know the fic i have for this says complete, but i do have a continuation in the works!!! it's in percival's pov and it's basically just him going "hmmmmm Merlin's acting pretty suspicious......"
Witch Boy OK LISTEN: i know this one also complete when you go to Ao3, but that's just because the 3rd part is being fucking slOW, so i said "fuck it ends nice at ch2 anyway," but i do want to add more. but yeah, to summarize: fic was inspired by a Halloween fanart i saw and i just ran with it.
A BBC Merlin Military AU Nobody Asked For so i also already explained this one in another ask but basically it's semi-modern au with bbc merlin cast in the military. which military??? idk it's not important. what's important is that there's pining and hurt/comfort
Lucky's Timeline in Beacon Hills this one....yeah, this is super self indulgent. literally recycling Nick and Lucy (Lucky is their ship name bc i do do that with my OCs and there's is super cute) and throwing them into the Teen Wolf universe, and seeing how they'd fare in that world. what i've got it like 5 different storylines i could take with this wip, but the main consensus is: Lucy adopts Theo, Nick sort of adopts the Puppy Pack bc he decided a coach was the safest job he could apply for and the school didn't ask him a lot of questions (he definitely raised his brows at that) for this wip, Nick and Lucy originally came from my Lucky Network-verse (but like slightly to the left, meaning she wasn't adopted by Bruce in this verse, meaning i get to play with her being a tad more sadistic) and ended up in Beacon Hills bc teleportation magic run to its extreme can teleport you across dimensions!! who'da known!
but yeah, those are my 10! they are my babies, and i love them dearly. if you have anymore questions are just want to hear me ramble more, you (and anyone else interested) are free to shoot me an ask!
thank you babe for allowing me to just gush about them <3
#ask game#wip ask game#wip game#asks#my wips#my wip#my fics#long post#y'all are absolutely welcome to ask me for more details about this stuff#if given the chance i will not shut up about any of these#i restrain myself bc 1) breathing is a thing and 2) i would be even more annoying#thanks so the ask boo <3#bbc merlin#teen wolf#lockwood & co#original work

Has GRRM ever said in any interview or on his blog that he hates Sansa's complete storyline after 4th season? I dont really follow all of his fan/media interactions but from what I can recall he has spoken abt how LF in books wont give sansa to ramsay or how noone had issue when Jeyne was given the Ramsay storyline in books etc. Asking this question to you bcs you rightly point out how ppl misunderstood his interviews/posts ( sansans/targ stans etc) & I cant recall him ever saying he 'hates' sansa's story in the later seasons of the show ( not s5 in particular but even s6 to s8).
Capclave 2013:
A change that has repercussions for season 4 is Marillion’s tongue removal from the first season. Martin said that the change was made (from an anonymous singer being the victim of a de-tonguing) because they wanted Joffrey to maim someone the audience would recognize. He believes this is an issue because of the part the singer plays in Sansa’s storyline, how he affects her interactions with others in the book, and he doesn’t believe another character will be fulfilling that role on Game of Thrones.
—GRRM talks season 4 & beyond - Winter is Coming - October 13, 2013
2014 Fan Reports about Capclave 2013 (*):
In a convention panel this year, George said on the record that he had no idea what they were doing with Sansa or where they’re taking her storyline, which now makes sense perhaps. He was not pleased when he was talking about it, so who knows what’s going to happen with her! Knowing GRRM, that could mean they’re going off the canon reservation, and/or that they’re going to be making a lot of shit up
I have notes I’ll be responding to (thanks!) but enough people commented about Sansa that I thought I’d share that tidbit, since it happened back in September iirc (was the same panel where he criticized the exclusion of Tyrell brothers)
—starkalypse - June 3, 2014
GRRM’s comments at capclave about Sansa (which I was in the third row for, for those asking about legitimacy) were among others during the panel that had a general theme of dissatisfaction with show changes. He was not in good spirits for that con and didn’t really have anything positive to say regarding the show. So take it with a grain of salt; there are deviations away from the books in the episodes he gets writers credit for, so maybe they’re doing something stupid or they really don’t have a gameplan!
—starkalypse - June 4, 2014
(*) These reports were posted in June 2014, during the airing of Game of Thrones Season 4, about Capclave 2013 that happened in October 2013.
Just after the rape episode:
How many children did Scarlett O’Hara have? Three, in the novel. One, in the movie. None, in real life: she was a fictional character, she never existed. The show is the show, the books are the books; two different tellings of the same story.
There have been differences between the novels and the television show since the first episode of season one. And for just as long, I have been talking about the butterfly effect. Small changes lead to larger changes lead to huge changes. HBO is more than forty hours into the impossible and demanding task of adapting my lengthy (extremely) and complex (exceedingly) novels, with their layers of plots and subplots, their twists and contradictions and unreliable narrators, viewpoint shifts and ambiguities, and a cast of characters in the hundreds.
There has seldom been any TV series as faithful to its source material, by and large (if you doubt that, talk to the Harry Dresden fans, or readers of the Sookie Stackhouse novels, or the fans of the original WALKING DEAD comic books)… but the longer the show goes on, the bigger the butterflies become. And now we have reached the point where the beat of butterfly wings is stirring up storms, like the one presently engulfing my email.
Prose and television have different strengths, different weaknesses, different requirements.
David and Dan and Bryan and HBO are trying to make the best television series that they can.
And over here I am trying to write the best novels that I can.
And yes, more and more, they differ. Two roads diverging in the dark of the woods, I suppose… but all of us are still intending that at the end we will arrive at the same place.
In the meantime, we hope that the readers and viewers both enjoy the journey. Or journeys, as the case may be. Sometimes butterflies grow into dragons.
—The Show, the Books - Not A Blog - May 18, 2015
Report about the last Game of Thrones Script that GRRM wrote:
No Wedding for Sansa and Ramsay: Without question, one of the most controversial changes the show made in trying to streamline the books was by slotting Sansa into the role of Ramsay’s wife and rape victim in Season 5. In the books, Ramsay marries and assaults Sansa’s best childhood friend, Jeyne Poole—who is being forced to impersonate Arya—instead. (You can actually see Jeyne briefly sitting next to Sansa in the show’s pilot.)
At the time Martin wrote this script, though, substituting Sansa for Jeyne was not yet the plan. Martin has Roose Bolton tell his bastard son: “We have a much better match in mind for you. A match to help House Bolton hold the north. Arya Stark.” It should be noted, however, that in Martin’s script, Sansa isn’t free from menace either. At his own wedding-day breakfast, Joffrey still threatens to rape the older Stark sister—once he’s “gotten Margaery with child.”)
—Game of Thrones: The Secrets of George R.R. Martin’s Final Script - Vanity Fair - December 7, 2018
A month before the Game of Throne S8 Finale:
Sansa’s story, in particular, has really deviated from the books. Ramsay Bolton — that marriage obviously was with a different character. When they start deviating like that, did you initially have any emotional reaction, even though you worked in Hollywood for many years yourself?
GRRM: Well, yeah — of course you have an emotional reaction. I mean, would I prefer they do it exactly the way I did it? Sure. But I’ve been on the other side of it, too. I’ve adapted work by other people, and I didn’t do it exactly the way they did it, so ….
Some of the deviation, of course, is because I’ve been so slow with these books. I really should’ve finished this thing four years ago — and if I had, maybe it would be telling a different story here. It’s two variations of the same story, or a similar story, and you get that whenever anything is adapted. The analogy I’ve often used is, to ask how many children did Scarlett O’Hara have? Do you know the answer to that?
I know it’s different in the book and the movie …
GRRM: Three children in the book, one by each husband. She had one child in the movie. And in real life, of course, Scarlett O’Hara had no children, because she never existed. Margaret Mitchell made her up. The book is there. You can pick it up and read Mitchell’s version of it, or you can see the movie and see David Selznick’s version of it. I think they’re both true to the spirit of the work, and hopefully that’s also true of Game of Thrones on one hand, and A Song of Ice and Fire on the other hand.
—George R.R. Martin on the Stark Sisters and Ending ‘Game of Thrones’ - RollingStone - April 22, 2019
James Hibberd’s Book:
GEORGE R. R. MARTIN: Jeyne Poole was included in the pilot—she’s shown giggling next to Sansa—but she’s never seen or referred to again. I actually wrote Jeyne into “The Pointy End,” my first script, when Arya killed the stableboy. I had some stuff with Jeyne running to Sansa being all hysterical and dialogue in the council chamber with Littlefinger saying, “Give her to me, I’ll make sure she doesn’t cause any trouble.” That was dropped.
DAVID BENIOFF: Sansa is a character we care about almost more than any other. We really wanted Sansa to play a major part in that season. If we were going to stay absolutely faithful to the book, it was going to be very hard to do that. There was a subplot we loved from the books, but it was a character not involved in the show.
GEORGE R. R. MARTIN: I was trying to set up Jeyne for her future role as the false Arya. The real Arya has escaped and is presumed dead. But this girl has been in Littlefinger’s control for years, and he’s been training her. She knows Winterfell, has the proper northern accent, and can pose as Arya. Who the hell knows what a little girl you met two years ago looks like? When you’re a lord visiting Winterfell, are you going to pay attention to the little kids running around? So she can pull off the impersonation. Not having Jeyne, they used Sansa for that. Is that better or worse? You can make your decision there. Oddly, I never got pushback for that in the book because nobody cared about Jeyne Poole that much. They care about Sansa.
—Fire Cannot Kill a Dragon: Game of Thrones and the Official Untold Story of the Epic Series by James Hibberd - October 6, 2020
GEORGE R. R. MARTIN: My Littlefinger would have never turned Sansa over to Ramsay. Never. He’s obsessed with her. Half the time he thinks she’s the daughter he never had—that he wishes he had, if he’d married Catelyn. And half the time he thinks she is Catelyn, and he wants her for himself. He’s not going to give her to somebody who would do bad things to her. That’s going to be very different in the books.
—Fire Cannot Kill a Dragon: Game of Thrones and the Official Untold Story of the Epic Series by James Hibberd - October 6, 2020
I hope it helps you.

Since you mentioned Heart as your favorite Brittana episode instead of Season 6, what are your other top 5 eps for them?
hello anon! i don't know if i have a solid top 5, because there aren't that many eps where i like every brittana scene in the whole episode, but i'll do my best! this is in no particular order (except 3x13 is the best).
season 3, episode 13: heart
this was obvious given that we just mentioned it, lol, but yeah - imo, this is the quintessential brittana episode.
we get precious background moments, multiple scenes of them dancing together, a precious and unique gift from brittany to santana, a serenade given by santana to brittany, cute hand kisses, santana feeding brittany chocolate strawberries, the two of them standing up for their relationship against bigotry, and...oh yeah!! their first real kiss 🤩 i just really, really adore that whole entire episode bc it contains everything i love about their relationship and none of the things i don’t like. to me, 3x13 is brittana at their best and i thank our queen ali adler every day for it.
oh, and it also has santana shading finchel...bc same, girl.
season 4, episode 22: all or nothing
i just think all of the scenes in this ep are precious. and santana telling her that she still cares about brittany as a person and as a friend was really, really nice to see. i love how santana was able to convince brittany to take a chance and go to MIT, and i especially love this particular final moment for the two of them. i know that back then fans were afraid that this would be brittana’s last episode, and while i’m really glad that it wasn’t, i think the writers did a pretty good job giving them that sendoff (that thankfully turned out to be temporary).
season 2, episode 20: prom queen
this is kind of a copout because brittana aren’t that heavily featured in this episode compared to klaine or quinn, but santana does have a neat little arc that is pivotal in her character development, and this ep also contains my absolute favorite brittana scene in the whole show: the one where brittany talks to santana in the choir room.
brittany was kind and reassuring and supportive of santana, while also reminding her that her friends needed her and that she should go out and support them. she said exactly what santana needed to hear, and she gave santana the courage to go back out there and be there for her friends. that is the brittany that i wish had been present in the entire show.
season 3, episode 19: prom-a-saurus
like the previous episode, brittana aren’t all that heavily featured...and the overall episode isn’t the best. but the limited brittana content we got in this ep really is lovely and i’d say that it’s some of the most wonderful brittana fluff in the series.
brittany making a heart in the air while santana sings, and santana winking back? precious. smiley!santana grabbing brittany away from kurt and blaine to come dance with her? adorable. santana repeatedly calling brittany’s dinosaur theme genius? so cute. their prom picture? incredible. and santana saying that she didn’t want to be queen if brittany wasn’t king? that’s true love right there <3
the only thing that would've made this ep better for them would've been santana and brittany getting elected prom king & queen, but i’m not going to get into it here bc that deserved its own post.
season 5, episode 12: 100 - i really, really like the whole storyline of santana recognizing that brittany is being taken advantage of and overworked at MIT and helping her find her passion for dance again. santana was the only one who really noticed that brittany was behaving oddly, came up with a plan all by herself to help brittany snap out of her funk, and she recreated one of their very special moments (valerie) to convince britt to get up and dance with her. i wrote this a while ago about the importance of the song valerie:
It just feels so significant to me that Santana chose this particular song to get Britt out of her funk. Valerie is special to both of them, it’s the first competition solo Santana ever got and it was the first time we ever got to witness the dance skills of one Brittany S. Pierce.
It was the first time Brittany got to show off how talented she was and how she was so much more than the dumb blonde everyone thought she was. Now, however, no one thinks she’s dumb. Now everyone sees her as just another statistic for MIT.
Santana, however, sees right through that and sees her for who she really is - not dumb, not just a genius, but Brittany, the girl who loves to dance. So Santana picks the same song from the first time Brittany got to show off her dancing to prove to her once again that dancing is what she’s meant to do.
...and i think it still holds up. that whole storyline was just so great for them, and to cap it off they have their hottest kiss at the end of the ep. like, damn...the chemistry 🥵
now i don't like the solution of her ditching MIT altogether and santana leaving her understudy job...but that's in the next episode, not this one, so i'll ignore it for now 😅
honorable mentions to 2x15 for being the ep where it started it all and to 4x04 for having a breakup that makes me cry. not to mention, these two eps have my some of my all-time favorite brittana songs (mine and landslide).
#if i'm being honest anon their s6 arc is objectively best#but if you can't tell....s6 is /not/ my favorite season for them lmfao#evelyn answers stuff

i am returning from the dead because of this, which has me going insane every time i think about it. there will probably be a part two of this. i simply cannot get it out of my mind
nishinoya’s sisters
all of them are older than him, but I’d say one is a year older than him (3rd year), one is four years older (3rd year of uni) and one is six years older (graduated a year ago)
the nishinoya’s are a Loud family. they are constantly yelling at each other, whether in an argument or just to talk to each other. they’re also all very messy, with the middle sister being the lesser of four evils by actually returning cups and dishes to the kitchen (she goes to all their rooms while she’s at it)
the eldest is the one who got nishinoya into volleyball. she played in high school, and she taught little 9-year-old yuu in the back garden as a reward for finishing his homework. she played non-competitively at uni and dropped it after, but she’ll still always practice with him whenever she’s home
the youngest sister dresses like an egirl and has the bleached streaks at the front of her hair. she had leftover bleach when doing it, so she convinced yuu to do a matching style, which is the origin story of the blonde streak in his hair
the youngest sister also plays football (soccer), and they help each other practice. they’re absolutely best friends.
all of them are Fiercely protective of each other. he likes to think he’s the one protecting them all the time but in reality he is the baby of the family and they would all rather die than let anyone so much as lay a finger on him
the middle sister is the only one with good grades, and they always say she has all the brain cells between the four of them. she also sleeps until 1pm (which doesn’t mix well with yuu’s tendency to wake up at 7am acting like he’s had three energy drinks) and went through a lot of boyfriends in high school (yuu tried to intimidate all of them, and failed, because he was 13 and short as hell). they get along better now she’s moved out.
the eldest is only a mature functional adult because she had to stop the rest from injuring themselves or each other constantly when they were kids. she’s the go-to for advice for all of them, but will always go to her brother when she needs to rant
the eldest got All of the height. she is a tall woman and she likes to use her siblings as armrests to make them feel even smaller. gives good hugs but also slaps her siblings around the head as a form of greeting
they taught yuu about style and respecting women. he chose not to listen when it came to style and wears ugly tshirts with funny slogans anyway, but he would beat up a misogynist.
asahi had a bit of a crush on the youngest sister for part of their second year and will NEVER admit it
overall they are chaotic, loud and messy but they get along really well, simultaneous hell yeah and big rip for the parents.
suga’s brother
ok listen he’s 7 (11 years younger) and babysitting him is part of the reason koushi became an elementary school teacher
he is o b s e s s e d with dinosaurs, tsukishima begrudgingly and secretly gives koushi his old, more childish dino-themed things to pass on to the kid
absolutely idolises his brother. wants to be Exactly like him. he rlly tries hard in school because of it (even though he has a pretty short attention span)
also wants to play volleyball bc of suga, and is his brother’s biggest hypeman
terrified of daichi but loves asahi. its asahi’s biggest win
makes suga watch disney movies with him (he doesn’t actually make him, its unclear which one of them enjoys it more)
kyoutani’s sister
she’s 23 (6 years older) and the COOLEST BITCH
has a sort of indie / grunge style, basically that fun y2k-ish style but with more chains and fishnets
plays electric guitar, has a bunch of stick and pokes, wears doc martens and is doing a masters degree in journalism.
please i’m in love with her
she had a massive emo / punk phase back when kentarou was 10 and thought she was the most amazing person alive. he started trying to be punk like her and it stuck
they would kill and die for each other but argue All The Time. especially when he was like 13-14. basically hated each other but now they very much respect each other
(she’s the only person he fully respects other than iwaizumi)
they would play fight all the time that almost verged on genuine physical fighting. they still do sometimes, and she wins 90% of the time.
for personal reasons i am going to say she’s bisexual
if you ever think kentarou would have anything negative to say about women or gays, you are wrong. if you say anything bigoted its an attack on his sister and he will beat you up about it
literally has to keep her away from the volleyball team because they met her once and oikawa tried to flirt with her and he is never suffering through that again
she helps him cut and bleach his hair and he helps her dye hers fun colours sometimes
overall the literal coolest person ever i would die for her
kuroo’s sister
okay I’d say she’s probably,,, 22. four years older.
the most put together person you will meet in your life. its honestly scary how organised she is. time management queen.
the science genes run in the family. just started a master’s degree in biology and plans to do a PhD
every teacher that taught her expects tetsurou to be just as smart and capable. it annoys him, even though he gets the grades, because they assume he’s gonna be just as well behaved and organised as her. that man has not handed in a homework assignment in his life.
she has Long Ass, Thick Ass Hair and if she ever lets it get slightly out of hand it looks like a Nightmare
still hates tetsurou for making her practice volleyball with him when she was 12. she missed the season finale of a show she liked and then got it spoiled for her because she was helping him and she still holds a grudge about it
may be put together, but she’s still fun. will buy tetsurou alcohol if he asks her to (not too much tho, so parents don’t catch on)
he tries to flirt with her friends and she hates him for it (the newer ones that meet him when he’s like 18 seem to enjoy it and she hates that even more)
is Very intimidated by tetsurou’s volleyball team, will still bully him in front of them tho. when her and kenma team up they are ruthless and if he didn’t know they were joking he’d probably cry
yaku pretended to have a crush on her for almost a whole year in second year to annoy tetsurou. he even got her in on it and ‘asked her out’. it was the longest and most worthwhile con he’s ever pulled.

Clone High
I rewatched Clone High today, after finishing a fic, and it gave me an idea for a second season, or a reboot season, if it ever happens. Warning: this will have JoanFK shipping in it.
So, in this season, everything is almost the same as the first one. The names of the episodes and what they are about, is all basically the same, except: all the students have a weird sense of deja vu. For example: when the students talk about something that happened last year, they get confused, and they all remember something cold, but they can’t put their finger on it. Mostly they shrug it off. However, feelings don’t disappear, so... Abe is a little more aware of Joan, Cleo wants Abe more, Joan is more hopeless about Abe and developing a weird crush on Kennedy, and JFK the same.
So...
Episode 1
Things go pretty much the same.
The hotline happens, JFK’s ultimatum, and Abe wanting to get Cleo.
But this time, Abe get real alcohol. He vaguely remembers failing to do so before, so he somehow gets real alcohol.
The party goes pretty much the same, and Joan tells Cleo to get with Abe.
But this time, when JFK offers her a drink, she accepts it with the idea to forget this night. She gets a bit tipsy though, and ends up making out with JFK.
The police come, but they take Abe and Gandhi. Joan was nowhere to be seen, since she was making out with JFK at the moment.
Principal Scudworth and Mr. Butlertron crash the party, but only to see what effect would the alcohol make in the clones.
The fact that the clones lost a year is supposed to be a mystery.
Episode 2
This episode is almost the same.
Except that when Abe takes the sponsor, the brand goes: “Didn’t that kid look familiar? I feel like I have seen him before...”
Joan still goes to JFK, and he is more like: “I uh see you are back for more,”
The episode still continues the same, but at the end, Joan and JFK are seen talking.
“We will never speak about what happend at your party ever again,”
“Why uh not?”
“Because it’s never going to happen again,”
Next scene, both of them come out of a the school with their hair and clothes messed up, and lipstick all over their mouths.
Episode 3
The episode goes the same, but Joan doesn’t end like a speaker.
She instead goes to the Grassy Knol to sorrow in her embarrassment.
Marie Antoinette helps her a little. She tells her that she isn’t confused about her future or her past, but she is confused about her present.
Also, Scudworth is there to see what the clones remember from the past year. He is happy to find out they don’t remember much.
Episode 4
So, the school film festival, and pretty much is all the same.
Except, Joan’s entry is about her confusion between JFK and Abe.
Lincoln doesn’t get it, but Kennedy does.
Joan, who is tired of Abe’s bullshit, enters a friends with benefits agreements with JFK. He can still be a player, and acts as her stress reliever, or rebound fuck.
Also, Scudworth gets visited by some ministers. They were in charge of the secret board of shadowy figures. They haven’t heard from them in a while, and they are suspicious. Butlertron saves the day, again.
Episode 5
The PJXTs come around and things go like the Episode did.
Except for a moment a moment in which JFK calls Joan ‘Dolphin Tat’.
Episode 6
So, Joan’s learns about the team not allowing girls or animals on the team by JFK, on one of their meetings.
She still dotes her incredible disguise, and Cleo still hits on her.
The episode finishes with JFK realizing he is not into guys, he is simply into Joan. He likes her.
Episode 7
Again, the episode goes like the original. But at the end, we see Joan go back to JFK for comfort.
Episode 8
Joan becomes homeless, and moves in with Cleo. They don’t get along, but it’s not as bad, because Joan is moving on from Abe.
Cleo does find out about them, when Joan sneaks out and comes back smelling like JFK’s perfume. She plans on telling the whole school, and things get ugly.
They start fighting, until Joan threatens to publish Cleo’s puberty pictures on the school’s newspaper. They kind of form a truce.
Meanwhile, JFK and Gandhi also fight. Gandhi wants to go spy on the girls, but JFK stops him. Only he get to stare at Joan in a girl on girl action.
Episode 9
This is the episode that completely changes. Not because I don’t like the episode, but because I love it too much to change it.
The episode is still a musical.
Fritz Habers clone (the inventor of the mustard gas) gave out cards that had a mysterius dust in it. It was supposed to be a prank, with the dust making them stink, but something else happened.
The people who opened the cards, started acting like love-sick fools. A few were saved. Gandhi, cause Fritz thinks he already smelled bad. Abe, cause his neck is too long and he didn’t get to smell it. And Cleo, cause Fritz thought he might get with her, if he was the only good smelling dude.
The dust works as a watered-down sex-pollen. It might make you horny, but not to the extent of stripping in the middle of a crowd to have sex. And it makes you blind to everything else but that person.
The first song is the group seeing the student under the dust for the first time. Thing of ‘What’s this?’ from Nightmare Before Christmas, but with love themes.
What’s this? What’s this? There’s smooshing everywhere.
Fritz finds the group that hadn’t been contaminated, and he explains what happened. They search for a way to create an antidote, and they find a journal that might have the answer, but it’s in french.
They start looking for Joan, who Abe knows hasn’t opened the letter yet. Here come the second song. It’s a version of ‘If you seek Amy’ by Britney Spears.
Oh, oh; Tell me, have you seen her?; Cause we, oh, oh; Don’t know how to speak French!
By the end of the song they find her, she is opening the card. There is a whole slow-motion montage as the dust hits her and the others go: NOOO.
Joan blinks for a few seconds, then looks back at the group, and the next song comes. It’s ‘Girlfriend’ by Avril Lavigne, but instead of saying Girlfriend, it says GirlfriendS. And for a while, they think she is singing it to Abe. But when she is in front of him, she pushes Abe aside, and runs to JFK that was behind them.
I also like to think that the rest of the people around are dancing and doing the chorus every time there is a song.
We cut to Principal Scrubworth, who is looking at all of this from his office. He also sings a song, ‘Crazy=Genius’ by P!ATD.
While he sings, he dances around his matchines.
Then we go back to the crew who are at the Grassy Knol sad, while the other are all around being happy. Then, Marie Antoinette comes and translates the journal.
The next day, the students come into the school. The last song happens, it’s ‘Walking on sunshine’ by Katrina & the Waves. By the end of the song, the fire alarm goes off, and the sprinkles wet everybody with the antidote.
When they snap out of it, Joan and JFK are embracing. She notices how everybody is staring, and decks him, before leaving.
They break off their arrangement, bc everybody knows now.
Also, Fritz is taken to the frezzer by Principal Scrubworth.
Episode 10
We see Ponce trying to cheer up JFK since Joan rejected him, but he still dies.
I would find it funny if this is a recurring joke. That ponce dies every season, and after a while it becomes a thing of, ‘has he died yet? this is the longest he’s gone- oh no, forget it, he died,’
JFK mourns him. Joan has been avoidig him since the dust incident, so he goes to the other perso he once had for comfort, Cleo.
Abe is mad. He is more annoyed at JFK in here, bc he thinks that he took advantage of Joan. He is actually jealous.
The episode continues the same way, except for the end.
When Abe goes to console him, Joan is already there. He starts feeling something in hid chest.
Episode 11
So, Snowflake day comes. Joan doen’t like the holiday, and Abe needs to get an expensive gift for Cleo.
JFK tries to show Joan how good Snowflake day is, and they go all around town doing things.
JFK is trying to win her over, but Joan is still confused. She likes Kennedy, but she also likes Abe.
She understands the meaning of Snowflake day by the end of the episode, with the help of a trashy celebrity. Maybe a Kardashian?
And she also gets a gift from JFK that he made himself. Since she doesn’t like the consumerism of the holiday.
Abe, on that regard, instead of buying Cleo an expensive gift, he buys her a gift with some extra cash he had. The rest of his money went to buy an expensive gift for Joan. He saw it and thought of her.
It’s nice, but Joan likes JFK’s gift more. Cleo is pissed.
Episode 12
Abe is in thin ice. He has to do an extraordinary promposal to Cleo, but he can’t stop thinking about how Joan has nobody to go with.
The only one who asked her was JFK, and she is thinking about accepting.
He tries to help her get a date for prom, one that isn’t Kennedy.
They go through multiple makeovers, but in the end, Cleo takes matters into her own hands.
If she gets Joan to go with somebody else, then she gets her promposal from Abe and she wins.
She gives her the same makeover from before, and asks Napoleon to take her.
When Abe sees her, he realizes he might have feelings for her. But she is with Napoleon, so he respects that, It’s better than JFK.
Episode 13
Abe makes his Promposal, and Cleo accepts.
JFK tries to asks Joan again, but before he can, Napoleon interrupts.
They go to prom, and Joan is clearly not having a good time. She isn’t acting like a giggly vapid slut in here, but it’s clear she is not happy.
JFK sees her sad, so he goes to talk to her. She tells him that she misses him, and that she would have accepted his invitation.
Abe sees them talking and tries to stop it, but Cloe jumps him, promising sex.
He leaves with her, but the only thing he can see is Joan.
Meanwhile, Joan got rid of her makeover, and is talking with JFK. He compliments her, telling her he doesn’t need a makeover, and the two kiss.
They agree to be boyfriend and girlfriend, and they go to dance.
Abe come looking for her sees them, but becomes dramatic, and gives a speech about locking himself in the frezzer, to forget all about this.
When he goes to do that, however, he unfrezzes the secret board of shadowy figures.
The season ends there

How I would rewrite Teen Titans
I'm not actually probably going to write this, this would just be the direction I would have taken the show if I had the choice.
My version will have 6 seasons and 2 movies.
Season 1
The exact same, only maybe have Robin and Starfire get together at the end.
I don't really have any major problems with this season
Season 2
Pretty much the same except build up Raven's friendship with Beast boy more e.g. show her supporting him after Terra's gone both times or have her have a moment with him in Titan rising.
Season 3
Oh boy. A lot. I want to change a lot. First of all I want the tone to be a lot more like Deception. Have both Robin and Starfire as his secondaries instead of switching it to just Robin, so they balance eachother out with Robin being harsh and arguing with Cyborg while Starfire is gentle and supportive with him even though she isn't happy about his decision, this would also mean Robin and Starfire's relationship could be built up and tested, whether or not they're dating.
Second of all, motivations, this is my main problem with the season, I think it would have been far better with better motivations from the main hero and villian. Brother Blood has so much potential but since he has such vague motivations and we don't know what he wants he becomes far less interesting, they tried to recreate the Slade and Robin dynamic and it really didn't work. So I would have Blood less focused on Cyborg and more focused on his crime school before beginning to get more annoyed at the Titans for getting rid of his schools. I would have his main motivation to be something generic but believable like using his students to take over the world and using Cyborg as a stepping stone to do it. As for Cyborg I would use the theme they originally introduced in Deception, his struggle with his robot and human sides, and not have it resolved in one episode but rather the whole season, take away his whole 'I want to be a leader' thing and Brother Blood being 'his villian" and instead have him join the Titans East to get back his blueprints which wouldn't be retrieved in Wavelength.
Also have more focus on the og Titans when Cyborg's away to show how it's effecting them.
I would also have Sarah Simms show up at some point in this season and cut out the thing with Jinx in Deception and Sarasimm in Cyborg the Barbarian later on, make it one sided. Maybe have had Cyborg argue with Sarah at the start and be reminded of her by Sarasimm so he goes back to apologise.
That was long, sorry, there's just so much wasted potential in Season 3.
Season 4
Make this season 5. Now this is a massive change but it would be so much better, season 5 felt very anticlimactic after season 4, so if it is instead put before season 4, with a few tweaks it would work a lot better. This would also mean the stakes would be raised each season.
So the changes, so many to make.
First of all have the same episode structure as all the other seasons, some plot, some filler, it's just a better format.
Secondly make the Brotherhood of evil smaller and also have the main villians be on a council instead of the Brain ruling them all (think V.I.L.E. from Carmen Sandiego) this will add more spice to the villians as the brain being the main villian with everyone else as his got boring due to his utter lack of charisma.
Make the Doom Patrol come later on in the season.
Have newer Titans show up in more than one episode to allow them to develop friendships with eachother and so the team up at the end of the season feels more natural. Season 5's finale would also come as more of an emotional gut punch if we saw all the other teams frozen after Trigon takes over.
Season 5
I wouldn't change a huge amount, just a few little tweaks.
Have more emphasis on Slade and I still don't want to redeem him, I think he should stay bad.
Make Raven and possibly Trigon less powerful. I know this sounds strange but a problem I've always had with season 4 is how it treated the other Titans, except from Robin they were mostly didn't do anything about the plot. Have them at least do some damage to Slade and the army when they show up at the tower so they don't seem really weak for example have them used against eachother and defeated one by one so they seem less useless.
Also have the powers Raven has given them have a small effect on Trigon, which gives them some hope (this could be mentioned by Robin in his later conversationwith Raven)
Put more emphasis on Raven's relationship with Beast Boy and have him be another secondary who she comes to for comfort, giving the penny and beast form more meaning later on.
I would also have Starfire, Beast boy and Cyborg have to team up together to beat each of their evil selves instead of just switching.
For defeating Trigon I have a few very specific ideas, have Raven try to defeat him on her own but fail in the final blast in her speech but then look at the penny, take her friends hands as they stand in a circle and all say Azerath Metrion Zinthos together, emitting a huge wave of white light and defeating Trigon together, Raven later saying she couldn't have done it without them.
Also during the start of the second part of the finale have a montage of everyone else frozen in stone before going back to the Titans.
That was a lot for just a few tweaks but oh well.
Season 6
The Starfire season, yay.
Now, I'm not entirely sure what I would do for this season but I have a vague outline and a few ideas.
Have the season focus on Starfire with both Robin and Raven as her secondaries with a subplot about Raven and Beast Boy.
I would have Slade come back working for the Gordanians as a mercenary who has been told to come to Earth and recapture Starfire for them as the first plot episode and the thing that kicks everything off because I just love this idea so much.
I would keep the same format as the rest of the series still, but maybe throw in a couple of space adventures.
I would have a more deep exploration of Tamaran's lore and culture as well as Blackfire's return, maybe as the season's main villian or working with the season's main villian or perhaps just for one episode but I think it would be good to have her back.
I would have the finale have the whole universe at stake, maybe giving the Gordanians or some other bigger alien race we're introduced to later on in the season (perhaps the Psions) have dalek like motivations of wanting to get rid of anything that isn't them and either Starfire or Tamaran is the key to this.
Slade once again doesn't redeem himself and gets away.
That's all I have for that.
Movie 1
Be like a Trouble in Tokyo but for Raven and Beast boy, I have no ideas apart from this.
Movie 2
Have a movie to wrap everything up with Slade.
Have all of the extended Titans help out on this with a focus on Jericho and Ravager.
Have a huge final battle with a lot of personal stakes and have Slade finally captured.
Have a cute little flash forward scene at the end, possibly with all the Titan's children taking over and showing how they've all grown.
Tada!!!
So that's the end and WOW did it take forever to write that.
Hope you enjoyed reading it and feel free to add anything on.
I might do more little rewrite things later, not as long as this bc this took me like half an hour but episodes or other shows or books because this was actually quite fun.
#that is the longest post I have ever made#I won't be doing that again anytime soon#sorry idk how to do read more#teen titans#starfire#robstar#robin#meta#rewrite#rewrite teen titans#beast boy#raven#bbrae#cyborg#sarah simms#cysarah
