thinking about the sonic pmd au. what if pmd Silver was actually trapped in a multiple timeline loop? wouldn't that be messed up-
ok so. previous lore recap: Silver is from a Future where the world is frozen over due to the Bittercold. All life should have been destroyed, but there was enough determination among survivors that there's still a small flame of hope alive ✨ Silver is one of them. In fact, he's incredibly determined; for better or for worse. This catches the eye of Mephiles, who then convinces Silver to go back to the past, collect the Time Gears, and then use the Gears' power to rewrite history.
Except Mephiles knows this won't actually save the world--the opposite of it, in fact. He's done this scheme a few times now.
Mephiles is a timeline-hopping entity. Not really a pokemon, but takes the form of one. I'm not sure what he is yet, exactly. Maybe a manifestation of all life's desire for oblivion, like the Bittercold, but on a multiverse level.
He causes a ruined future in one timeline, and then hops to another to do it again--usually through the use of a pawn who wants to "save" the world. In the current case, it's Silver. In the previous ones, maybe parallel versions of Silver? maybe other characters? idek.
but yeah Silver wasn't actually sent to the past of his timeline, but another one. He thinks he's saving his future when he's actually bringing forth the doom of another. Hey, very fitting/ironic for an Absol.
I think Silver's character arc would be learning to trust others/share his burdens. Something something, his goal (despite being altruistic) has made him selfish and paranoid, since he doesn't know who to trust in the strange new world of the Past.
If Mephiles' previous pawns were also parallel versions of Silver, then this Silver would be the one to break the cycle by Asking Help From His Friends. AND it gives more weight to Blaze disappearing--Mephiles knew he could be defeated by the power of friendship, so he needed to seal Silver's friend away. lmao

i think the most frustrating thing about this particular trauma im thinking of is that sometimes ill see posts expressing sentiments that i agree with, but i cant bring myself to reblog the post because it just makes me think of the way the extreme version of that sentiment was weaponized against me.
like yes, generally speaking, you are responsible for your emotions and avoiding triggering content, and something being triggering for u does not mean it should never appear in any media. also, if someone is ur friend and knows ur triggers and is creating something that ur supposed to be a part of, and they disregard ur triggers by exposing u to a triggering topic with no warning, and then they get mad at u and hit u with a "ur too sensitive" when u get triggered and disengage with the triggering content by leaving the situation, thats um. fucked. and also fully not what that post is talking about. but yet they used language similar to that post to be a massive asshole to me, and ptsd isnt logical, so its close enough to be triggering. or maybe im just too sensitive and should have less triggers bc "the average person has 1 or 2" 🙃

Headcanon;; Beck and Her Methodology of Spellcraft
Beck uses several forms of magic but one I only vaguely touch on is a type of magic my witches call magic through dedication.
Dedication magic requires some kind of work, promise, and meditation from the witch using it.
For instance a witch's home is carefully kept and considered. The witch used either physical force to do things like clean or cook or they use magic, but the fact the care came from the witch is what imbues the home with magic.
Cooking something, sewing something, painting something, anything that requires time and effort on the part of the witch. Repetition and music are easy ways to greatly strengthen this magic.
Beck can weave a spell into a blanket to ward off cold by thinking thoughts of warmth with each stitch. She can make you feel refreshed and improve your mood with a meal by making everything from scratch and singing over the pot and believing wholeheartedly it will do you good. She can take the forms of animals because she walks in their footsteps and listens and learns and gives herself over to her wild urges to encourage them.
This is one reason (of many lol) Beck can't stand for things to be done for her. Because it is her power. She cannot read or write and has little patience for traditional learning, but this is a method that never fails her if executed correctly, and very often it's kept her alive.

My cleric was trying to free the bard from a kraken tentacle grapple and I wanted to use a huge Inflict Wounds to get the tentacle to release him, but it uses regular grapple rules so I had to rely on an Athletics check. I realize the situation is up-for-interpretation, but if I have to judge the fiction of D&D against other forms of storytelling, it feels silly to me. If I saw this in a show or book, it was established the character had powerful magic, and the solution was just to pull hard enough, I would think it was bad fiction. Wouldn't a sword be just as good at hacking a giant tentacle off? I think in PBtA/BitD the only thing that would prevent this from working is how nice the dice were being. In D&D it goes, "you cannot do this thing to get that result" (maybe your DM will let you, but it's not a part of the rules) and I'm left going, "but why?"
The setup and payoff of having my cleric slap a tentacle with so much necrotic damage it writhed or flinched (or BLEW UP) from the pain would be so satisfying, but I guess that would make grappling mechanically useless, wouldn't it?
That's actually weird, cause I've seen the fact that PbtA games are "fiction-first" sometimes used as shorthand for how they differ from traditional games (what would they be then? Mechanics first?) which is really weird to me because the way I've understood "fiction-first" is that you describe what your character does and the mechanics only jump in if your character attempts something worth using the mechanics for, which is... actually most RPGs?
Like, even D&D 5e presents this as the default mode of play! The GM describes the situation. You narrate what your character does. The GM may ask for a check if the outcome of your action is uncertain. Rinse and repeat.
I think the confusion arises from the fact that in spite of the text itself saying that that's how you're supposed to play the game for a lot of people it does end up as "I push the buttons on my character sheet." Leading with the mechanics and following with the fiction, instead of the other way around, which is what the game tells you to do. So, like, this is why you have "Can I roll a Charisma check?" instead of describing what your character says or does and then being prompted to roll a Charisma check.
(truth be told, D&D's fiction-first model does break down somewhat when you get to combat where there are so many discrete mechanical units to interact with those get used as shorthand. You don't want to describe your character's every attack to be followed with a "So you want to make the Attack action?" when you can just say "I would like to make the Attack action, if I may." But that is a very specific use case of D&D's mechanics where the game wants very granular results, so while everything is still grounded in the fiction the mechanics can take the lead for a moment.)
So all of this is to say... everyone has fiction-first play dip shit, it came with your fucking RPG.

cw: drunk reader, drinking too much, vomiting. other than that just fluff!! enjoy
----------------------------♡----------------------------
You swear you could have cried when the clock finally struck six. Today was terrible, putting it simply. From an early start to annoying co-workers to an abundance of paperwork, it seemed you couldn't catch a break. To make matters worse, you knew Michael wouldn't be home till late. The responsibility he had in his position left him working after hours. You needed to release some of your built-up stress, you needed a drink. But who would you go to? Who would be without responsibilities or cares and would be willing to get wasted with you?
"Hey Gob, do you wanna get a drink?"
He was more than happy to hit the bar with you and also a terrible influence. Drinks seemed to tally up within minutes when it had actually been hours and hours. He definitely could handle his drink better than you. Because while he was still able to form a coherent message, you were a blubbering mess.
"Another!" You slur out.
Gob discourages you finally, "Don't you have work tomorrow?"
"Who cares! All- all those pieces of shit can go- can- can go fuck... themselves" you stutter.
Gob wasn't having fun anymore. Now he was just taking care of a drunk person - he didn't want that weighing him down. So he called Michael to come pick you up.
Michael was not pleased to hear that after his 12 hours in the office, he had to pick up his absolutely shit faced partner up from his brother.
"You let them get that drunk, Gob? What's wrong with you?" Michael barked as you rest against his shoulder.
You lean against his form, looking up at his tousled locks. He definitely had them in his stressed grip a couple of times today. You play with the bottom of his tie as he speaks. Gob shrugs his lecturing off and leaves the pair of you.
With some difficulty, Michael gets you into the stair car and drives you to your apartment. He guides you up to your place and gently guides you to the sofa. He makes quick work of getting you a glass of water.
"Here, drink this," he hands you a glass. It's a chipped and old looking glass, just in case. You ignore the glass and instead try to get him to sit down with you.
"Michael, you looked tired, come lay down with me," you dragged, giving him the best puppy dog eyes you could. You were spread across the sofa ungracefully, limbs anywhere they would be comfortable.
"You need to go to bed," he tells you gently. You whine out like a toddler.
"Come on! I wanna stay up with you!" you say before shifting up into a sitting position and giggling.
"You have work tomorrow," he sighs at you. He, too, has work tomorrow and would love to stay up with you, but can't.
"So? I hate that job! Who cares if I'm off cause of a-" you cut yourself off by covering your mouth and dry heaving, "a hangover-" you bolt up right and stumble to your bathroom, stabilising yourself on the walls. Michael follows closely behind.
He runs hand up and down your back and holds your hair as you throw up. The vomiting must have sobered you up a little because you suddenly feel the not so fun effects of alcohol. You rub your face, feeling hot a clammy. Michael looks at you with only concern as he hunches on the floor with you. He cups your face, and you lean your face away.
"Don't..." you grumble. "I'm gross and drunk."
Michael smiles as he smoothes over your cheek, "That may be true, but I still love you," he chuckles. You're unsure how he's even facing you with how bad your breath probably is.
"I'm tired," you sigh deeply and sniffle a little.
"I'm sure you are." Michael agrees, doing that knee slap thing as he makes his way to his feet again. "C'mon," he holds out his hand for you to take. Supporting one hand on your bath, you use the other to take his.
He guides you to your bed where you flump down. With effort, he takes your shoes off, and you turn over and wrap the duvet tight around your frame.
"Alright, sweetheart, I'm off. I'll see you tomorrow," Michael murmurs and watches your exhausted form.
"No!" you exclaim. "No, don't go!" Suddenly frantic, you unwrap yourself from your duvet cocoon.
"What do you want me to do?" He forms a lips pressed together smirk, he finds your pure distraught at the idea of him going home and getting a good night's rest awful amusing.
"Stay here! Stay in my bed!" you beg your boyfriend. In the morning, you'll remember how drunk and pathetic you were last night and grimace.
"But I have work in the morning. I'll need to go home and get ready." He toys. He already knows he'll be staying the night. He'll just have to get up early and grab his stuff for the office. Or maybe he'll take the day off, he deserves it after all.
"No, please!" You whine out again and tug on his hand. He laughs heartily and drops onto the bed, making sure to squash none of your limps.
Finally satisfied, you wrap your legs around him. You're both still in your work clothes, but who cares? You're cosy.
Tucking your head into his neck, you slur out a, "love you,"
"Love you too," he smiles, exposing his little tooth gap.

Feel free to delete this, but I remember you saying that you liked Sonadow (I think that’s the ship name?). Anyway this is your invitation to infodump about them as much as you want. Also if you want to give fanfic recommendations I just might read them <3.
GIGGLES you shouldnt have said this >:3
idek what i could talk abt bc at the same times theres a LOT but also, despite me being mostly caught up game lore wise, i still dont feel like i have a good enough understanding of the characters, i'll probably only feel that when im caught up w the comics. which,,, will take me a good while to get through (just the archie comics are like over 500 issues long lol)
BUT. hmm what could i say that doesnt really require much prior knowledge...
ig, as every ship i ever ship, i see them more as queer platonic, sonic gives me the strongest aroace vibes, so i feel like his love for shadow wouldnt take a much different shape than his love for his other friends. but their connection goes a lil further to me, bc, when it comes to certain stuff, i feel like they're the only ones who can understand each other. and shadow... my dearest little guy... he represses a lot. his life experience wasnt. the best. i dont think he got that many opportunities to explore his own emotions, he probably cant even name a bunch of his emotions, its just easier to lash out, thats smth he's used to. he knows violence, it feels safer, he knows that dance.
and its because sonic has his fair share of violent background (aka, took up the role of a hero since he was way too young) that i feel like he is one of the few who can read shadow much easier than anyone else. hell, sonic himself is kinda knee deep in some repression (in my own understanding of his character). obvs most of this is bc its a franchise that targets kids, they wont get wild w the angst, but my boy sonic be out there fighting all the time and takes on a responsibility that shouldnt be his, the consequences of his actions can be catastrophic sometimes (once again asking everyone to watch sonic prime <3333 so much angst potential, im not normal abt it), and even when things go wrong, he jut smiles and powers through it. just think this for a second. god. imagine the amount of times he pushed himself beyond his limitations for the sake of others, how many times he pretended to be fine....
and yet. despite all that, they are terrible with communicating to each other, so things get physical often (as in fighting, not sexual, which makes it even gayer to me <3), and sigh. not surprising. put two stupid traumatised hogs in the same room and they'll either zoom around trying to race each other or they'll try to tear each others throat bc they just cant be normal together. ig thats how they communicate, go figures lol
my thoughts are all over the place atm so its hard to make this coherent <- my thoughts abt them are usually just violently screaming and sobbing. im sooo normal abt them. cant get much deeper than this without getting into the Lore, but yeah, ig this is smth
and oh, abt fanfics, hmmm i dont have that many that you could read without any background, but i did just finish this one shots collection thats very sweet and pretty chill to read without much prior knowledge, its mostly just a bunch of fluffy sick fics and them exploring their own feelings.

cupid fae 🎀 also hi how are you, it's been so long 😭
Tumblr media
sim jaeyun x caelin x huh yunjin old money / rich kids. love triangle. friends to lovers. fake dating.
Tumblr media
ok so let me give you the rundown 🤭 you're yunjin's bff. you've done a terrible job of hiding your crush on her, but she's somehow remained oblivious. as besties since childhood, you're rlly close with her family and familiar with their crazy rich shenanigans. what you don't expect though is for your forever-solo bff to suddenly reveal that she's got a new "boyfriend". apparently they're close family friends (aka he's also rlly rich) and their parents are celebrating this new-budding romance at some high-end resort. oh yeah, you're invited too. you mentally prepare yourself to meet this new rival of yours, but OH NO guess what ?! her boyfriend's jake sim, that guy you kinda sorta had a thing with (at least until he ghosted you) during the summer before starting uni. you never really got over him ... basically the next few days pass with lots of uncomfortable tension btwn the two (they're dating so why do they act as if they can't stand each other?) it doesn't help that yunjin consistently catches jake flirting with you. overall, the entire stay is terribly awkward and you feel guilty for enjoying his attention. that is until you realize that they're fake dating. oh and they both like you just as much as you do them. <3
Tumblr media
omg caelin i missed you <33 im doing well wbu? it fr has been so long 😭😭 i hope you're doing well & taking care of yourself !!!! ILYSMM 😚 also pls forgive me for how horribly formatted this is. i wrote way more than i intended to so i hope it's somewhat coherent 🫶
ok wait i didn't explain why i shipped you with them 😅 i chose jake & yunjin for you bc they fit that rlly mature, thoughtful, and sweet (also HOT) vibe that you have. they're both just so admirable + i love everything abt them just like i do you 🤭
idk if you remember this bc idek when this is from but i have a very distinct memory of shipping you with heejake but in like a school romance setting (lol i found it) as you can tell, i'm a sucker for love triangles which is why you got not just jake, but yunjin too 🫶

hi! im new to your blog so im sorry if you've already said something about this, but i remember years ago reading an interview of i think jesse armstrong where he said that one of the core questions of the show was how culpable the roy children were in their fate. do you think that would still be true of the show or even relevant, now that we're at the end? of course they're adults and could choose to be less complicit in the capitalist machine than they are, but. do you have any other thoughts around this - do you think the way logan raised them + the pull of power and money doomed them from the start? idek if this question is coherent anymore. no worries if you don't want to answer this, + thank you for sharing your analyses!
yeah i actually think this is something a lot of people think about very simplistically lol. like, theoretically sure, it's possible for the kids to leave. but, for one thing, the business is the family is the business, and for another, logan has always used his vast wealth and power to construct a kind of mirage of a cage around them. the way the kids seek power is very often psychologically driven by their desire to gain his love or respect, and having been raised inside the company and a family that is a microcosm of the company, it's hard for any of them to imagine an alternative in any real sense. i think this is what makes them both despicable and sympathetic. a good example is the dinner scene in 'chiantishire'. like, what they're arguing about is whether logan will buy kendall out. kendall could theoretically walk himself, but he'd be sacrificing a tremendous payout. so, in some sense he's trapped; we can see the psychological levers logan is pulling. at the same time, there's really nothing keeping kendall there except his desire for power and money, and his reactivity to his father. if he dipped overnight it's not like he'd starve. so, the kids have very constrained choices psychologically even though, on a strictly material analysis, they're obviously empowered to diverge from logan and waystar basically whenever they want. this is one of the things the show does really well imo: it doesn't shy away from how despicable or distasteful they are, but it's also deeply exploring why they make the choices they do, and how that's both a function of greed and of more 'sympathetic' drives like the desire for love and approval.

It just hit me. For part 2 of assigning german/austrian songs to the marauders, this time with Remus:
Egoist by Falco.
You know it's true.
(This is the only Remus bashing you will ever get from me, he is my babygirl and he has never done anything wrong in his life ever)
Oh wow okay I didn't know I'd be coming home to Remus bashing in my inbox today but here we are! Why are you calling him an egoist? Just because he abandoned his pregnant (so very straight) wife (so very straightly) and didn't take responsibility for that until a 17 year old kicked his ass? Idk what you're on about, that's a weird AU, Remus would never do that.
I see your Falco and I raise you: Junge Römer. You know Sirius played that song on repeat for like a week and thought he was the funniest person ever because of Remus's name.
Also I should note, I'm a bit tipsy (ON REMUS WINE!) atm so this is NOT the official German Remus playlist, this is the shitpost version of the official German Remus playlist, here we go, no thoughts just vibes:
Okayokay I'm thinking abt austrian music now and since we're pretty much the only 2 people invested in these playlists anyways I won't worry about the musicians being well known or not (though I'd love to know which of these you knew and which you didn't!).
May I sugesst Wolfgang Amrbos' Die Kinettn wo i schlof as homeless Remus Lupin's crying song. I feel a bit bad about putting this on the list because the song is genuinely so good and emotional and it made me cry when I was a child (I grew up listening to Ambros) but yeah. Uhm. No further explanation, also idek if you'll understand the dialect lol
DIALECT! When making the german Sirius list one of my Remus thoughts was what the german equivalent to welsh/scottish remus is and I've come to the conclusion that the obvious answer is Vorarlberg. SO obviously Vo Melo Bis Ge Schoppornou has to be included on the list. No I don't understand much either but it's still german (and imho one of the sexiest german accents, I said what I said).
Ham kummst is toxic wolfstar divorce AU core!!!!
Okay this one is actually a serious (lol) suggestion I think Remus would actually really like and relate to Sie mögen sich by Kätpn Peng! ALso maybe Tier by Käptn Peng?
Meine Sonne by Grossstadtgeflüster as angsty REMUS POV either poa era or first war or sth
Also I know this is officially the inofficial Remus list but i had another galaxy brain idea - Aurélie by Wir sind Helden is a song about french Sirius in an AU of our german marauders AU.
oKAAAY ANYWAYS BACK TO AUSTRIAN MUSIC Ich Lebe by Christl Stürmer is also a Remus/wolfstar song now, because I said so.
sepp haT gesagT wir müssen alles anzünden is just pure chaos marauders vibes tell me I'm wrong.
okayyy back to remus Irgendwann bleib I dann dort by STS is also Remus. ANd Gö, du bleibst heut nacht bei mir is needy Remus in a werid fwb situation with remus or sth idk
ALso since I've given up any pretense of choosing things that make sense I also suggest 1001 Nacht is about wolfstar friends to lovers slowburn. YOU KNOW IT'S TRUE
Okay also I just wanted to add something by AnnenMayKantereit because why not, and I'm sure there are better songs but I decided on 21,22,23 purely because of the youth/death themes and bc Jily died at 21 and Remus and Sirius died in their mid-late thirties.
okay now i made myself sad i need one more nonsense answwer and then i'll post this glorious completely coherent masterpiece
I was going to go with LaFee for a tasteful last song but then spotify suggested Tokio Hotel and who am I to disagree?! you can't tell me angsty early 2000s german teenage werewolf remus lupin DIDN'T listen to them, I'm sorry but he really felt the lyrics of Durch den Monsun.
yeah idek what this is i'm sure it's EXACTLY what you expected (lol) uhm i blame the remus wine. Any thoughts on the playlist??

Funny enough I was actually really unsure about posting it right before I just said fuck it lol, I already got so far in may as well finish it. I was really feeling what I wrote at first but kind of lost the connection halfway through which is kind of noticeable, but reading about what you have to say literally makes me feel so relieved that it wasn’t a complete letdown :,) I was actually afraid it wasn’t all that great in the end, but you’re restoring a lot of that energy and excitement I lost <3

Do I know how to write in cursive? Yes.
Do I actually use it in a coherent way?
No. Of course I don't.
I mix match letters from cursive and idek, regular?? Wtf is that called in English?
I have also, a very shitty handwriting.
Which probably doesn't help lol
So I apologize in advance (well, not really) in case I ever post funky sketches where you can NOT understand wtf I wrote due to my shitty handwriting.

Hi! I just wanted to say I rly love your blog and your takes!! I don’t really considered myself someone who is particularly good at analysis or finding themes or anything, but one thing I’ve sort of maybe noticed w/ bsd (that idek if it’s intentional or if it’s just me or if it’s something people knew about already and I’m just insanely late to the party)
but I think there’s sort of an undercurrent about coping with the fact that your abuser actually taught you something good, (or at least tried to do something good for you) and dealing with the complicated feelings with that? Or at least coming to the realization that the people who hurt you were equally hurt (obviously ik the cycle of violence theme + the idea of grey morality are both talked about a lot in bsd) but I was thinking back to the reveal w/ the headmaster, with the whole port mafia mori -> dazai-> akutagawa -> kyouka(?) deal, and now with aya and her father? Like how do you exist knowing that someone made your life hell taught you something to save the life of someone else? Idk! This is insanely bare bones and superficial but I just wanted to get it off my chest because it feels like the first coherent thought I’ve had since ever lol! Hope you have a good day (and sorry this got so long)
Hello, thank you for your kind words, they warm my heart!!
I can see what you say, having to deal with the good abuse caused is definitely something bsd explores, more or less sensitively. It's embodied in the way Dazai says to Atsushi “you were in hell... And hell raised you right” after the orphanage director died. In ultimate analysis, it all leads back to bsd's grey morality view: nobody in bsd is entirely good or entirely bad, and that shows in how it's a series filled with good people doing bad things and evil people doing good things.

i'm sorry for spamming your inbox please tell me to stop if i'm bothering you--
what even is the whole official star wars stuff. like except from the... nine? main movies that i all watched many times (i mean... "many" is for the first 6 but whatever), there is uhh rogue one? and solo right? i don't think i watched it. but like. there are shows too right? i never heard of those except that there is so much star wars lore that probably comes from ✨️ somewhere ✨️ (i hope). so what do i need to watch?? is there an order?? is there like. idek. things i have to know before diving into this? i feel like if you try to go away from the 6 (9) main movies you're immediatly going to get lost in the most crazy shit ever and never return from it and i'm ✨️ scared ✨️ and ✨️ lost ✨️ and ✨️ need help ✨️
also i spent the whole day reading kylux fics, like that's literally all i did, i'm way too prone to addictions it's scary (i'm glad the exams are behind me lol)
i love ✨️ sparkles ✨️ btw
One of us one of us ONE OF US!!!! I got you!!! Comme quoi it pays to be insane about stuff you like online. Anyway. Never worry about bothering me I am mentally ill about things on here for people to come up to me and say hi me too. I rewrote this a few times but it shoouuld be somewhat coherent.
Okay first there is objectively too much SW stuff for a normal person coming in right now with stuff to do during the day to go through in its entirety. The main stuff are the 6/9 main movies, which you've seen so you're good on that... and now I'm going to establish the concept of canon vs legends. If you've heard people talk about the extended universe/univers étendu, that's the old name of legends, but basically they're two different timelines. Canon is the 9 main movies, the The Clone Wars stuff, and everything serious Disney has done since they bought the franchise: Rogue One and Solo, and the TV shows Rebels, The Bad Batch, The Mandalorian (& The Book of Boba Fett), Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Andor. This is the timeline you're familiar with, but it's recent. Before this became the accepted canon, the 'official' 'true' version of events, there was just the extended universe/legends stuff, basically authorised fancy published fanfic, and sometimes one of the concepts created in those books/comics/games/role-playing games was made canon by being included in the more official, Lucas-made stuff, or was considered canon by the fanbase because most people were aware of the thing and liked it (like Mara Jade, Luke's wife in the legends timeline, who doesn't exist in canon). Basically if Lucas/Disney made it OR it's super popular it's canon otherwise it's just kind of fanfic that's tolerated as long as it doesn't contradict the canon stuff. I hope that was clear enough lol
So there's the main movies, and after that the most popular movies & shows are The Clone Wars (2008). There was a Clone Wars 2D series in 2003 but we're talking about the 2008 3D film and the following TV series here (though Anakin's design is funky in 2003 CW, but it shows different events because it's a legends series not a canon one). The movie is set at the start of the Clone Wars, a little after episode 2, and it introduces one of the most famous SW characters that's not even mentioned in any of the movies. Ahsoka Tano is Anakin's Padawan, she's a cool looking alien, chatty, she's like 5 years younger than him, and she starts out cringey but the general consensus on her is everyone likes her (that's because her creator, Dave Filoni, was in charge of most of the series, and you can tell he really played favourites with his OCs, and since she's not really a Mary Sue she's just extremely cool). If you're interested in the Prequels era you have to be aware of her at minima. You've probably seen art of her, her design is super cool. Ahsoka appears in TCW, but also in Rebels, the Mandalorian & Book of Boba Fett, and she's going to get her own series this year.
The thing with TCW is the first like, 3 seasons are generally "lighthearted" fluff about Jedi life and the war and the clones (as lighthearted as you get during a war, let's say it doesn't feel Super Serious because you know they all make it), but seasons 4 and 5 are closer to the end of the war and get more serious episodes, and then seasons 6 and 7 I haven't seen yet but they're I presume even less lighthearted and even more plotty. There was also a huge gap in when the seasons came out, which explains the tone differences, notably for S7 which is kind of not about the war anymore but just about Ahsoka and what she does after the Empire's rise I think? I'll give you detailed episodes but at least the episodes people recommend watching are the stuff with (Darth) Maul (you're into men so there's a good chance you will be into him - I'm ace and I regularly experience the closest thing I can to sexual attraction when I see him on screen because they animated him in a very...... in a Way that is. yeah), and then probably the 2/3/4 episode arcs that tell a coherent story (Rako Hardeen, Umbara, Zygerria, the Clovis stuff, the baby Padawans on Illum, 99, the Ahsoka stuff at the end of S5, etc). Personally I think the movie might be worth it to establish the characters, it's not super good but at least that way you have an idea of who's who. Once again I'll give you a list with all the details later, but I'm assuming you're not going to want to watch the like, hundred episodes when a good part of that is 'Ahsoka looses her lightaber and learns an Important Lesson about Patience retrieving it', 'R2 & 3PO go on an errand for three episodes' or 'droids are incompetently looking for a mcguffin for four episodes'. There's like an episode that explains why Chewie and Yoda know each other I think too, so that's neat if you're interested. The short answer is that Yoda fought on Kashyyyk during the war and that's Chewie's planet. I'll bury it here but if you want a good website to watch stuff, r/FREEMEDIAHECKYEAH has lists of sites that work (I recommend watching/reading SW stuff in english personally)
You mentioned Rogue One and Solo in your ask so I'll talk about these too: Rogue One is generally thought to be really good (at least in my circles?), it's set right before ep4, the characters are good, and generally it's a recommended watch. Personally I liked it, though not as much as other people seemed to, but the central romance is neat, and I cried at the end (and everyone liked Chirrut, for good reasons). Solo is kind of less good, but one of the main characters gave me adult movie Remus vibes in a way, it has a Maul appearance at the end for the people who watched TCW, and it gives unnecessary backstory for Han. Also Donald Glover looks good.
The Mandalorian is I think a pretty good entry point to the universe, at least seasons 1-2, because the main character doesn't know anything about the lore of the universe, so the show explains who's who what's what and all that. That said season three came out a few months ago and I haven't seen that so I don't know how badly they fucked it up, but they already pulled a shitty one on the audience by having like three crucial extremely plot relevant episodes of the show after the climax of S2 happen in another show, The Book of Boba Fett, instead of putting them in S3, so. Yeah. The other animated shows I haven't watched yet, Rebels is apparently really good but in universe it's set after TCW so I want to finish TCW before I get started there (it's been like a year or two since I started TCW, I'm slow), and The Bad Batch get much more mixed reviews so eh, you can see about that one later, it's less important in the general story of the world anyway. Andor was apparently a masterpiece but I can't say cause I haven't seen it. Visions also is a thing, haven't seen it but it's like, anime loosely set in the SW universe? It looks cool. If you're interested in Padawan stuff, there's Tales of the Jedi, which didn't make a lot of waves I think but has episodes focusing on Qui-Gon and episodes focusing on Ahsoka.
I'm going to give it its own paragraph cause in the Obikin sphere (which I am in obviously) this show was a divine miracle but the Obi-Wan Kenobi show, though it got shat on by other fans for being too silly or something, was to me really good. I feel like it really goes in depth with the Anakin-Obi-Wan relationship, and I remember every time an episode dropped my dash would be full of gifs of new interactions and new lines of dialogue of them being absolutely insane about each other canonically for real. It was wild, it was great, it was a fantastic high. It's 6x 1h, so I think it's fairly watchable compared to all the other longer stuff. It's more about the personal relationship between them, as people, but that's inevitably linked to the Master-Padawan relationship too (there's a good scene of them just before the war sparring at the Temple in episode... 4 if memory serves me right).
Then it's going to be mostly legends stuff, and at that level you just need to pick a direction and dig a little. Off the top of my head, here are different niches I've seen people be into/pists of where you might want to look: there's the old Jedi Apprentice books, aimed at a younger audience, that talk about Obi-Wan's padawanship, though they've been made explicitly non-canon by the recent Padawan book by Kiersten White (which was apparently good, and featured the one line where Obi-Wan says he wouldn't mind kissing any of his friend group but wouldn't want to do anything else, which prompted homophobes to explode and The Gays to celebrate even if we knew), or for more Qui-Gon-Obi-Wan stuff, there's the Master & Apprentice book; there's people who are way way into the clones, but that has more of a Marauders fandom vibe because individual clones don't get that much screentime, so you can see people whose fave is the equivalent of Dorcas Meadowes and who just make their own stuff up in their corner; there's the Mandalorians fans, which I personally cannot stand the majority of because most of the legends Mando stuff (that might have been made non-canon by S3 of the Mandalorian?) was written by Karen Traviss, a woman whom I personally do Not vibe with (come back for the rant later if you're interested), but that's a possibility too, you do you; there's the novelisations of the movies, though the only one that I hear about is the ep3 novelisation by Stover which is a really great piece of literature... and also very homoerotic with the Anakin-Obi-Wan relationship; there's the Aftermath trilogy which makes the transition between ep6 and ep7 and explains how we went from no Empire to the First Order, with cool characters (ie Sinjir whom I love and who is canonically if subtly gay); if you're curious about legends stuff and you want to know who Mara Jade and Thrawn are (if you've never heard their names before they're really popular, Thrawn appears in Rebels as well, he's cool and part of a popular ship in the wider fandom) you'll want to read Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn (also introduced the name Coruscant for the capital!). Obviously I am Highly Biased, this is stuff I know off the top of my head, but it should let you explore some different eras and characters. Heir to the Empire (& the rest of the books in that series) is definitely a classic in terms of legends stuff though, if you want to check out the fan favourites.
For comics I don't really read those so you'd have better luck either looking at rec lists online or just wandering around Wookieepedia until you find something that looks cool, but if you just want to read a quick thing, the Age of Star Wars series is neat. It's a series split in the three trilogies eras, and in each era it focuses on 4 heroes and 4 villains. Age of Republic has issues for Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Anakin & Padmé + Maul, Jango, Dooku & Grievous; Age of Rebellion for Leia, Han, Lando & Luke + Tarkin, Boba, Jabba & Vader; Age of Resistance for Finn, Poe, Rose & Rey + Phasma, Hux, Snoke & Kylo. If any of those interest you, you can find them on comics websites (like for example a website that would let you read comic online. for example. cough cough. I'm so subtle.) What I would NOT recommend are the Rise of Kylo Ren comics, they're just... I didn't like the artstyle, I didn't like the way it told the story of Kylo falling to the dark side, I really didn't like the careless way it both makes Kylo's relationship with Snoke worse but also doesn't address it at all, it was a big miss for me, Kylux fanfics do it better. If you're curious it's not a long read though. Can't help you more with comics, I haven't gone there much.
In general if you find a character/planet/species/group/etc that interests you specifically, you can go on Wookieepedia and go down to the appearances section, where you can see all the places that thing appears/is mentioned, in I believe in-universe chronological order.
I don't think canon does a lot of explaining the magic if you will, if it does I don't know where. You can try looking in a specific species' tag on here to check out what other people think of their biology maybe, but yeah I don't really know otherwise. In general canon does a lot of 'that guy's a spider. don't ask. shut up he's a spider that walks on his legs and that's it. no lore no culture no nothing he looks cool and evil. bam. we're killing him next episode anyway' but there are also 'little diagrams of the different parts of a lightsaber' moments (I know there's a drawing in the The Jedi Path book somewhere of the anatomy of Obi-Wan's saber). Good luck with that, I wouldn't know where to find it.
If you have questions you can look at @/gffa's sidebar to check out questions they've answered/what they rec, or ask them directly. They're The ressource for SW stuff in my mind, because they're pretty thorough when they answer I feel like. Once again, Obikin bias, be warned, but maybe they'll know where there's some more scientific stuff? They certainly read more than me haha.
I think that's all, I'm going to write down a non-exhaustive but very long list of TCW episodes I think are neat, with a summary behind to help you quickly decide if it's your jam or not. The order is arbitrary, it's half order of importance half chronological, but there's nothing specific from seasons 6-7, because I haven't seen them yet. (the format is episode number x season number, just in case)
Undoubtedly, the Maul stuff: that's the events of ep 5x16, which rest on eps 1, 14 & 15x5 (the start of the plotline that leads to the events), which themselves rest on eps 19-20-21-22x4 (who are the characters that are important and what are they doing here), but also on eps 12-13-14x2 (who are the other characters and what are they doing here), and on the other episodes where Ventress appears, but you can ignore her, just know that the bald lady with the red lightsabers is Dooku's apprentice early on before they part ways (but she's still a bad guy afterwards)
Random stuff that isn't too heavy: 6-7x1, Anakin looses R2 and goes looking for him; 11-12x1, which has some fun Anakin-Obi-Wan-Dooku banter AND Hondo (everyone likes Hondo); 17-18x1 which have the threat of death hanging over the main characters because of an evil scientist and some cool alien designs; (19-)20-21x1, the Ryloth arc where you can see clones being nice and the Jedi being cool, plus Twi'leks (I put the first episode of the arc in parentheses because it's not necessary to watch it to get the idea of what's going on); 8x2 which is the last part of a 5-ep storyline about mind-controlling brain worms, I recommend it because you'll probably like the interactions between Ahsoka and her friend Bariss + Bariss gets relevant waaay later; 16x2 which has the spider guy I mentioned that I like a lot and a bit at the start where I honest to god thought for a split second Obi-Wan and Anakin were going to kiss; 9x3, it follows 22x1 but you can go in kinda blind, it's just a little buckwild with its characters and I think you'll like Quinlan (if you do he appears more in some books & comics, and he's in fanfics a lot because he and Obi-Wan have a fun dynamic)
The Clovis stuff: Rush Clovis is an ex friend of Padmé that Anakin is really jealous of, he appears in 4x2 (and comes back in 5-6-7x6) and if you want to see Anakin behave like a jealous shit that's a good episode.
The Zillo Beast arc! 18-19x2, includes a big beastie, Palpatine being evil and kicking a dog (the beastie) to prove it, and Anakin's disability being visible. I give it here because it's often a trope in fics to have Palpatine killed by the Zillo Beast but it's not plot significant.
Clones stuff if you're interested: 5x1, with the first appearance of a group of clones that come back later; 10x2, it's part two of a plotline but the interesting clone stuff is mostly just in part two, in it there's an exploration of the clones outside of war (which they have literally been designed and created for); 1-2x3, introduce 99 who's neat and are mostly focused on clones
Padawan Lost arc: 21-22x3, Ahsoka being hunted for sport (literally), she kicks ass, and Chewie + another character I like show up in ep22
the Umbara arc: 7-8-9-10x4, a Jedi General is a real asshole to the clones we like, it's a little heavier and you can feel the transition from lighthearted start of the war stuff to the more depressing stuff that comes afterwards
the Zygerria arc: 11-12-13x4, the arc in which Obi-Wan gets hit & injured every episode I think, with cool designs because there's more Togruta and they look cool (warning though the Zygerrians are slavers, they enslave people). There's a cool moment at the end for Rex if you end up liking him (he's Anakin & Ahsoka's clone captain and one of the most important clones)
the Rako Hardeen arc: 15-16-17-18x4, more Obi-Wan violence! it's one of the arcs Obikin tumblr doesn't shut up about because basically Obi-Wan fakes his death and doesn't tell Anakin. It could have been better but it's trying something for sure
the Onderon stuff: 2-3-4-5x5, it's Ahsoka dealing with Romance (a little bit, the character she has Romance stuff with is already established from earlier seasons but you don't need to know him, just know he has a history with Ahsoka and he used to be a Separatist, ie on the wrong side) and I think you could like Steela & Saw Gerrera? Saw appears in Rogue One later on, but he's from TCW. The arc is about helping him, his sister and their people regain control of their planet.
the younglings: 6-7-8-9x5, little Jedi kiddos who go on their first big adventure to get their lightsaber crystal and then have to fight to come back home. They're really cute, the droid is voiced by David Tennant, and you can see Hondo in the last episode I think.
and finally, the arc you also gotta watch because it explains why Ahsoka isn't mentioned in ep3 when she was Anakin's Padawan and this boy gets attached way too fast: 17-18-19-20x5, which begins with Ahsoka and Anakin investigating a bombing in the Jedi Temple and ends with Ahsoka leaving. I put off watching it for so long because it's sad :(((
probably also the rest of the seasons, but you'll have to look at Wookieepedia descriptions to see if something sounds interesting (if I were you I'd focus on the Ahsoka stuff later on, apparently she does some cool interesting stuff). Wookieepedia has pages for every season and every episode with short & detailed summaries.
That'll be all, congrats on reading all that, ask me about stuff if you want I love never shutting up about this, I have discord if you want to chat, please give me impressions if you do end up watching/reading anything. Good luck with this monstrosity of a list lol.

Gah, this is not rlly me returning to being active but finally remembered to log back in lmao.
Pr regular ED stuff the past while, been swinging between slightly restricting and slightly overeating. It's shifting though, I think. Got a friend who's real thin and they made a small comment about like not rlly ever eating meals and shit which has, apparently, massively triggered the ana brain. Worried about that friend tbh, idek them that well but wouldn't be surprised if they've got an ED. Gonna be keeping an eye on them altho idk what I could even do to help.
Anyway, binge eating shit had disappeared almost entirely for a bit, I can feel the urges trying to claw their way back but I'm hoping I can keep it all under control. Bought rice cakes for the first time in maybe years lol, return of the fucking king. Hoping to just restrict whenever possible as usual, atm I can't do any sorta coffee-only diet or whatever and I can't weigh myself but tbh I feel fairly confident than I can still lose some weight pr consistently so long as I don't allow myself to slip.
I swear I overeat for one day and I can feel the fat seeping into me, constricting, piling on like concrete. Ik it's probably just bc I'm full or just in my head or smth but it feels so awful. Plus there's this rlly cute and sweet person that I'll probably get to fuck and cuddle with soon and like... dudes... if I can get even a bit skinnier for that then holy shit. Kinda ridiculous, but I'd be so fucking glad if I could be extra hot for them. They probably don't care about that. I hope not, though it'd still feel good for me.
Bit mentally gone atm lol this had better be semi-coherent. Basically, I am alive, I hope that you're alive, and I'll likely be getting back into the groove of proper restriction and all that bullshit. No clue if I'll be active any time soon. Also, moving out has been great and there's some amazing people here. Life is pretty good man, thank fuck.
