Dungeon Meshi is great to create fanworks for because, generally with fandom, a lot of the material that's produced is something that the series itself doesn't present, i.e. a light happy show can end up with a lot of dark fan content while something more bleak can end up with a lot of comedic, fluffier content. Dungeon Meshi has the benefit including things like body horror, gore, existentialism, cannibalism, death while also having a main character terrified of a wittle bunny rabbit and in another instance casts a water walking spell and goes boi-oi-oi-oing across the lake like a looney tunes character. Multi-track drifting.

recommending saf to someone is so humiliating because ill be telling them it's a poignant commentary on 1950s masculinity and the dehumanising nature of espionage and the inherent danger surrounding surveillance states and the compromising of privacy. and then they ask what the plot's like and i have to say "oh.. well basically it starts off when a man slips on a banana peel and dies"

It's up to you to decide what "funny" means in this case. Whether it be their ridiculousness, unpredictability, silliness, actions or words in general, etc. Just whoever is funniest to you. Please also explain your answers in the tags 🙏

Look I’m sympathetic to the rat grinders and dont think they deserve to die. But this is a battle, a fight, people die, they are currently trying to bring about a new god and destroy all of Ellmvile. In this instance they must be stopped there is no time for persuasion and even if there was they are so deep in Jaces and Porters control and actively despise the bad kids. It realistically makes no sense that they would stop now just because the bad kids asked, in fact the most likely to defect would be buddy and we saw Kristen try to see if there was anything of the old him left and she failed the role so had to keep moving forward.
Let’s not forget that while the bad kids are a bunch of shit heads and can be assholes, the rat grinders actively tried to murder them and the entire student body just hours before. Like they were trying to get everyone in Fabian’s house killed pretty much.
Finally think of death in context of spire, resurrection, magic exists. Death is not the end all be all it is in our world. Regardless of that yes we are of course sympathetic to these kids that were groomed and manipulated however that doesn’t mean there actions are now all good and that they aren’t currently a problem that needs to be stopped and killing them is the way to stop the problem.
The bad kids are shit heads who are trying to stop problems they realistically shouldn’t have to be solving it maybe morally grey but it doesn’t make them evil, it’s heartbreaking and in a perfect world none of them would be in this position.

As a Dooku girlie and of course, a scholar, Matthew Stover’s RotS novel and I have some beef.
But I have to admit, Dooku manic-hyping himself up for the fatal Invisible Hand fight with Anakin and Obi-Wan and then accidentally starting to cry in front of Sidious who subsequently has to tell him to get it the fuck together is very funny/incredibly sad.
Dooku: :D I’m only crying because I’m just so so incredibly happy to lose on purpose to a person I hate, a thing I do not find humiliating at all, and be taken captive in your new Empire :D
Like. What Dooku thought the actual plan even was is INSANE. He loses and just gets to get out of the war?? Retires somewhere? What's he calling it, "an honorable captivity"?? Makes me want to revisit my “in Legends/EU, Dooku actually goes mad in the classical Greek tragedy sense” theory because I think that novel and Labyrinth of Evil actually support it.

Episode 12 of fhsy is actually my fav shit ever. Gilear being stuck in the wheel for a whole day and his subsequent makeover. Ally's fucking dental dam bit. The Ayda/Fig scene (and Lou and Ally's reactions). Emily's "can I get a help action from the hot tub jets" and Murph and Zac's immediate reactions. Crachos. All the seafood party jokes happening in the background. This cast is gonna kill me

working on comics is so scary normally as an artist i don’t have to worry that much about characterization but when i make comics it’s like fuuuuuck……… would he say that…………… well he’d better cos it’d be really convenient if he did and i don’t want to add more panels

i think the best way i can articulate why this episode is my favorite of the whole show so far is that it was so emotionally gratifying i don't even care about the pacing issues

People saying not to read Homestuck because the work is adversarial to the audience makes me laugh. That's a feature, not a bug, and probably the most important part. I mean, I get disliking it, but the authors relationship to the audience is central to the themes of the work. I'm surprised you stuck through to the end if the meta textual nature of everything didn't compel you moth to flame style.
