hey i've been in a psych ward in southeast europe. it was necessary, and it fucking sucked. genuinely, no one mistreated me, it's just that the doctors have very little time for each individual patient and i was truly at rock bottom. and overall. it still saved my life. it was a safe unchanging environment with a routine and people who knew what i was going through. it was weird being the youngest there at 21, it was weird getting the pills from the nurses in tiny paper envelopes one at a time, it was weird and sucky and uncomfortable as fuck. if it came to that again, tho, i would do it again bc my alternatives were all so much worse. i wish you so so so much luck and wellbeing, stay strong, mwahmwah from another mentally ill girlie.

💖 Day 3.5 is now available! 💖

For the last couple of months, only Server Boosters had access to the 3.5 update... Buuuuut now it's available for everyone to play in the 14DWY Discord — and soon itch.io once I'm happy with the QA and state of the game — so please don't feel pressured to join unless you want to!!

What's been added to the 3.5 version?

📺 Streamer Mode!

I've been told that it's difficult to stream and monetise age-restricted videos on YouTube and Twitch, so I added an option to remove the sexual content and strong language used in the demo.

Now y'all can invite Ren into your bed for cuddles without putting your streamer career on the line /silly /lh

This won't affect the 18+ rating or dark themes/elements of the game, however! Although Streamer Mode will prevent you from seeing any "gruesome" CGs in the future, most of the core elements of the game will still be tied to the choices and decisions you make. So you won't miss out on the overall experience by using streamer mode!!

⚙️ Custom Pronouns!

It only took me one entire year to get around to it, but you can finally choose your own preferred pronouns (or use a set of pronouns instead)... At the cost of being able to change them mid-game ^^;

Since the original pronoun screen wouldn't update until a new scene was displayed, I temporarily disabled the feature. But once I find a workaround, I'll bring it back!

💗 Choose how others perceive you!

You can now choose how the cast and narration perceive you! Originally, the narration was kept strictly gender-neutral (outside of pronouns and genitalia picked by the player), but this will soon change in future updates.

For more clarity: you don't get to choose the words specifically, but you can choose between masculine, feminine, and androgynous terms!

📋 Separate top and bottom genitalia!

You can now choose your tatas and pps separately! >:3

Alongside that, you can also choose your preferred body type!

I removed the "both" genitalia option because a few players still assumed it was an obscure version of "intersex". That wasn't my intention and I don't want to mislead anyone, so I took it out for now ^^;

I also didn't want to include a screenshot of the new genitalia choices in action (because it's NSFW), so y'all get the same character menu screen for the nth time instead lmao

📱 Relationship Screen Overhaul!

You can now change your own status for more immersion, and long-term Server Boosters will eventually be able to submit and use their own icon within the game as well!

Stalking finding your friends has now become easier by using "Buddy Maps"; a new app that allows you to see the location of all the cast members!

I want to offer players more incentive to check the relationship screen since they tend to miss the status updates, so hopefully this might help ;v;

It also says it "updates every few hours" so folks don't go overboard and check every 5 seconds to see where Ren is gdsghf (also keep in mind that he's a hacker lol)

🖤 Additional Scenes Update!

Day 2 received a brand new CG!!!!! Originally, I planned on only adding a few CGs sporadically throughout the game, but it didn't feel right to leave Day 2 so... empty... so I added a brand new CG to (hopefully) make things feel more balanced and natural!

If you decline Teo's offer on Day 3, Leon will now call and try to convince you to reconsider. However, players are still allowed to decline, and if they do, they'll reach a dead end.

After listening to feedback on itch, I changed some of the dialogue during Days 1-3 to make it seem more consistent! They're only small changes though, so it's honestly not worth looking for sdgjssga

🎶 Updated BGM and SFX!

I wanted to try out a different style of music to see if it fits the vibe of 14DWY more! The BGM features more acoustics to suit the "beachy" theme of Corland Bay, though I made a conscious effort to include piano elements as well to stay true to the original!!

I figured it'd be better to give players a live example before I make a poll (to see if they prefer the change or not) and publish it to Itch.

Some new SFX have also been added, though it's very minimal and honestly not that noticeable.

How to download and play the update?

(warning: clicking on the following links will open Discord!!) To download the Day 3.5 update, simply join the 14DWY Discord server, verify your age, and visit the "14dwy-updates" channel!

Alternatively, you can also wait until the update is publicly released on Itch to play it as well!! (It normally gets released shortly after a round of QA testing/getting feedback from the server, though I may release it earlier if I feel like it hehe ^^)

DC x DP Prompt/Idea

Amity Park has always been haunted; everyone knows this but didn't care as long as it didn't disturb their lives. However, they didn't realize that they made up a third of the beings haunting it.

From the moving trees to the animals with blackholes for pupils. Amitians didn't care if the clouds moved and made themselves into shapes in a way that didn't seem natural, or that the streets always looked so odd or changed as they walked about.

They ignored the mushroom rings at the park, it's not like their dogs were interested in them and joggers tend to stick to the sidewalks. They ignored the people who looked familiar but just a bit off, like their too long arms, their claw or talon-like nails, the lack of facial features, their sharp teeth, and too wide smiles.

The humming and singing at night, the dancing ladies around town, the fog that had a figure just behind it- It wasn't their problem.

Until Wes moved into town and almost Immediately got out and called the Justice League.

At least he waited for Phantom to get to the point of burning out?

like we saw a slightly similar version of that in tartarus where he started tweaking but i feel like it would be so crazy to see it much more life or death then his going nuts like he did

I’ll tell you hwhat, one of the funniest/most interesting things you can get from reading analyses and rewatching footage is realizing Secondo probably is sillier/more gentle than we give him credit for and Terzo is definitely more depressed and bitter than we often interpret him to be.

“I can't believe you're going to Antarctica,” Chimney says wistfully as he refills their wine glasses.

Maddie points a ladle at him. “Don't get any ideas.”

He grins brightly, scooting closer to where she's stirring in a pan of tomato sauce. “Aw, come on. You don't want to move to the South Pole with me? I'm sure Jee would love a chance to hug a penguin.”

“You're not allowed to touch the wildlife,” Buck points out through a mouthful of crackers and cheese. “There's a fine, and jail time.”

“Antarctic jail time? That still sounds pretty cool,” Chimney says.

Buck swallows his crackers, starts slicing himself some more cheese. “No jails either,” he frowns. “I think they kick you off the continent.”

Chim raises his eyebrows, feigns disappointment. “Harsh, but fair. So no cuddling seals, either. Yeah, Maddie, I'm not so sure we should move after all.”

Maddie laughs, and they beam at each other, and Buck wonders if there's time to bake some garlic bread to go with their dinner.

It takes a little longer than usual to get Jee-yun to bed. Not because she's fussing, or in a mood, but because Buck comes to the sudden realization that this is his last Uncle Buck Storytime for the foreseeable future. When he returns to the kitchen, Maddie raises her eyebrows in question. “She, uh--” He clears his throat. “Wanted another story, so.” Shrugs. “Couldn't say no, right?”

She opens her mouth like she wants to remind him that that is something he very much can and probably should be doing, but seems to think better of it. Maybe she's noticed his eyes are a little damp. “Right. Wine?”

He's thankful for the out. “I'll get it.”

“So.” Maddie says, watching him move around the kitchen. “You're really sure this is the right call?” She's using that I'm-trying-to-be-supportive-but-are-you-kidding-me tone that Buck's been hearing a lot of lately.

He lets out a long breath. “Yeah. I think so.” Frowns. “I am. Look, I-I know how it sounds.”

Chimney wanders in from the living room. “Good, 'cause it sounds crazy.”

He groans in frustration. “I know.” He sets down his wine glass, presses his knuckles into the counter top, studies its gleaming surface. Thinks of the counter top in his own kitchen with the specks of hardened dough and the traces of flour that he's never quite able to get rid of.

“You're gonna be stuck in a frozen wasteland with your ex, Buck,” Chimney points out. Makes that face he does when he's about to make some clever reference that absolutely no one else in the house will understand. “You'll be a thousand miles from nowhere, man. And it's gonna get a hell of a lot worse before it gets any better.”

Buck isn't sure if his brother in law really, honestly thinks that one of these days he'll get a round of applause instead of blank (if fondly amused, on Maddie's part) stares, but today is definitely not that day.

“Come on, The Thing? That's like the Antarctica movie!”

“Yeah, well, maybe I'll watch it on the flight over.” Buck mutters.

“You probably shouldn't.” Chimney pours himself a glass of wine, and after a pointed look from Maddie, turns to the fridge to grab her a seltzer. “But,” he adds, sliding the can across the counter to his wife, “If you're out there and Tommy starts shooting at a dog from a helicopter, you'll want to get out of there ASAP.”
