Kelly Severide x Reader

No one knows why the new paramedic is so secretive about her homelife until it crashes with her worklife

The new paramedic at fifty one was damn near a mystery to everyone. She’d gotten hired nearly three months before and hardly no one knew anything about her personal life, not even Sylvie. She was sweet and damn good at her job but beyond coming to work and doing her job that was all anyone ever saw of her. Kelly had found himself damn near infatuated with her within about a week.

She was smart and funny and didn’t mind putting anyone in their place. She’d stand in front of her patients on domestic calls to shield them from their abusers spewing venom while CPD hauled them away and would be so gentle with children it made his heart flip just seeing it. She was an amazing woman and he wanted nothing more than to know more about her, just as a friend but she would barely give him the time of day.

He walked into the common area and she was sitting with Sylvie, Gallows and Ritter. A laugh bubbled out of her at something Ritter said and he had half a mind to slip him a twenty to keep saying whatever it was that had made her laugh just so he could keep hearing the sound. This was kind of pathetic. He was falling for a woman he basically only knew on a work basis but even only knowing her on a work basis and for this long everyone seemed to be pulled towards her. She had this gravitational pull. He just didn’t understand why she still hadn’t let anyone in. He wondered if maybe it was something in her past, had she endured something at an old house that made her slow to trust? Was she planning on just being here temporarily? That thought made his heart ache, losing her before he ever even knew her.

He would keep trying, just to be her friend. Nothing more. He just wanted to see one of those smiles pointed at him just once. She cut her eyes up at him and nodded when he walked by “Lieutenant” he smiled “Morning”

Yeah, he’d just have to keep trying.

“Daniel, baby you gotta stay with uncle Caleb. You know mommy has to go to work!” you passed your son over to your brother and shot him a grateful smile. Your older brother was absolutely your life line. When you found out you were pregnant his biological father had disappeared damn near as fast as the second pink line had appeared but Caleb had stepped up to help you however he could, including syncing his schedule to make sure he was always off when you had to work.

Normally Daniel would be in daycare but they were closed due to a pipe bursting over the weekend. “Thank you so much for this Caleb” he grinned “I told you before he was ever born, I’m always in your corner. Now get your butt to work. Go save some lives. I got little man” you kissed Daniel’s cheek and patted Caleb’s shoulder before grabbing your bag and heading out to your car.

You liked firehouse fifty one. Everyone who worked there seemed to be truly decent people, Sylvie Brett, your partner was the world’s biggest sweetheart. Chief Boden was the best boss you could ask for. Captain Matt Casey was always nice and understanding,as for the lieutenant of the house Kelly Severide..well you didn’t want to think about how much you liked him. He was gorgeous, beyond brave even if he was a little brash at times and when you would see him interact with kids? God it made you almost want to see if Daniel’s daycare could come to the house on a field trip..almost.

You had the same rule for your job as you had for your dating life. You had to hit the six month mark before you could meet Daniel. Hell the only person who knew you had a son at the house was Chief Boden and he promised to stay tight lipped when you asked it of him.

When you got into work you spotted Kelly in the bays and smiled at him when he looked your way “Morning Severide” he grinned “Morning” you walked past him and he called your name so you glanced over your shoulder at him “Yes?”

“When are you gonna let me buy you lunch? Just as friends?” you shook your head “Why don’t you buy Casey lunch? You two are already friends” you continued into the station house and heard everyone laughing behind you.

It was around four when a call came in for a multi vehicle accident. Truck, rescue squad and ambulance were to respond. When you came running into the bay to jump into your rig with Sylvie you winked at Kelly when he looked your way and he laughed despite the situation. Maybe you were finally warming up to him?

He climbed into the rescue squad and hollered at Cruz to get it going. The line of vehicles hit the road and tore out.

When they rolled onto the scene it was a total of four vehicles involved. Some were worse than the others. He hadn’t expected you to jump out of the ambulance before it stopped rolling and take off running towards a dark green truck screaming “DANIEL! CALEB” 

He instinctively jumped out of rescue squad to run after you. When he got to the truck he saw that you were crawling into the backseat to check on a little boy that was probably close to two and a man that favored you was standing next to the truck with a cut across his forehead. He called your name gently and you looked back “I’m sorry Lieutenant Severide. I know the most serious patients go first but I had to check on my little boy and my brother”

His eyes widened “Your little boy?” you turned your back on him and finished looking over the boy before unbuckling him from the car seat and sliding out of the truck “Kelly this is my son Daniel. Daniel this is mommy’s friend Kelly” “Hey Kelly” Daniel said with a shy smile. “Hey” Kelly greeted. He saw your hands were shaking as you shifted Daniel onto your hip to check your brother..what did you call him..Caleb? Caleb’s head. “Stay with them, I’ll radio another rig and get ritter to assist Brett”

“I can help her” you argued and he shook his head “Stay with your son Medic. That’s an order” you smiled slightly “Yes sir” he nodded “I’ll find you in a little while, after I help clear the scene, ok?” “Ok”

You were sitting on the curb with Daniel and Caleb while Caleb talked to his insurance company. They were sending a tow truck and a rental car. Guess that was why he paid such a high premium for such good service. He’d only needed butterfly stitches so Sylvie had let you just grab them out of the back of your rig.

“Are you in trouble for coming to us?” Caleb asked and you shook your head “I don’t think so” then saw Kelly head your way “Let’s see” you passed Daniel to his lap then stood to meet Kelly halfway. Daniel waved at him and you smiled when Kelly leaned around you to wave back.

“Why didn’t you tell anyone you had a son?” he asked and you shrugged “Boden knew” he nodded “Is that why you’ve stayed so distant from everyone?” you nodded “People are always friendly and want to get to know you until they find out you have a kid then it’s oh sorry never mind” he smiled softly “He’s a handsome little man. Looks like his mama” you grinned “Thanks Kelly” he nodded “So, that lunch offer?” you rolled your eyes “Really Severide?” he held up a hand “I was gonna say the diner down from the station house has really good waffles. Can I buy you, your son and your brother some?”

You opened your mouth then clamped it shut then opened it again “Did you just ask me out with my whole family?” he nodded, a smile slipping onto his face “I wanna get to know you, that’s all. Daniel is your son, he’s your world. I get that. Caleb is your brother, also important to you. It’s not that big of a deal, it’s just waffles sweetheart” you shook your head “Caleb’s rental will be here in half an hour. They’re even bringing a new car seat too” he grinned “So I guess that’s a yes?” you nodded “I guess it is”

Trope: friends to lovers

Hearing the familiar address come across his police scanner, Tim couldn’t care less about the lawyer that was supposed to be under his surveillance. His silver Honda Civic practically floating over the asphalt as he sped towards the apartment complex.

Specifically, yours.

“No apparent injuries to occupant. No ambulance needed.”

Tim’s grip on the wheel slightly loosens at that. Although he was still stressed not completely knowing what happened yet, at least you were currently safe and unharmed. Minutes later, his car screeches to a stop in the parking lot already occupied by a flashing patrol car.

“Detective Rockford?,” the young officer - he still couldn’t remember his name after all this time - asks slightly startled from seeing the usually stoic and aloof man. “What-?”

“Where is she?” His steps never falter and the younger officer - Davey? Casey? - has to lightly jog to catch up with the detective on a mission.

“She?”

“The victim.”

“Oh! Currently with Daniels as he does a final sweep.”

“Still nothing?,” Tim asks as they both finally arrive on your floor from their ascent up the stairs. He wasn’t surprised to see the elevators out again. There was always something wrong with this place which is why he tried urging you to another complex.

“True it’s not perfect, but it’s not terrible. I’ll be fine Tim,” you assured with that sweet smile that could warm the coldest of hearts.

“Just some shifted furniture, nothing missing yet. We tried dusting for prints, but perp was smart enough to use gloves.”

Walking in to see your nervous expression - lip worried between your teeth as your arms wrapped around yourself - had a storm of emotions swirling he’d never experienced all at once. Relief that he could physically see you were unharmed. Rage at whoever did this. Finally, a sense of protectiveness wanting to make sure this never happened to you again.

By any means.

“T-Tim?,” you asked finally meeting his eyes. Immediately he’s crossing the few feet between you to hug you close. Gently rocking you back and forth as you savor the much needed comfort.

“Let’s uh give them some privacy Kaz,” Daniels whispers. “Kazinski!,” Tim thought as he finally remembered the man’s name. Wow he was way off.

“What happened?”

“Well,” you sigh, “I came home and the door was cracked open. Something didn’t feel right this time though-,”

“Wait, this time? Someone’s done this before?”

You slowly nod. “Well, then again I could’ve accidentally-,”

“We both know you didn’t leave it open. You never leave your door open or unlocked.”

Too many times you were the one reminding him to make sure he’d locked up both his house and car. Always on the go with mind focused on other things, there’s a very strong chance he’d leave his head home if it wasn’t attached to him.

“Why didn’t you call me?,” he asks with deep brown eyes full of concern and slight hurt.

“I didn’t wanna interrupt your case. Plus it’s nothing I can’t handle on my own.”

“But you don’t have to do it on your own,” he sighs. Your hyper-independence just might be the death of him. “Grab some clothes and whatever else you need, you’re staying with me.”

“Tim-,”

“If you think I’m leaving you here tonight you don’t know me as well as I thought,” he simply counters sitting in one of your wooden dining room chairs waiting for you to get your things with arms crossed against his chest.

There’s no use in arguing when his mind is set - which tends to be often. All you can do is what he says swiftly turning towards your bedroom and softly padding down the short hall.

Phone to his ear, Tim can’t help the smile that forms at your sweet voice. Deep inside he feels like that giddy teenager again excited and in slight disbelief that he finally gets the chance to talk to the prettiest girl in school.

“Hey, just uh wanted to check on you. Make sure you made it in okay.”

“Yep just got the last of the groceries in,” you smile locking the door behind you. “Hey don’t pick up anything to eat! I’m making lasagna.”

This is how it’s been for the past week. Tim checking to see you made it in and how your day had gone before you both discussed your plan for dinner that night.

And he loved the domesticity of it all. Never did he think he’d say that, typically preferring to be alone so he could come and go as he pleased with no one constantly in his ear. But there was something about coming home to warm meals and music softly playing in the background that had an unexpected calm rushing over him.

Then again, maybe all those new things he was feeling - now wanting every day and wondering how he thought life was better without it - was from you.

“Sounds great, I’m gonna be a bit late getting in though so don’t wait on me to eat.”

“Oh, okay.” Your disappointed tone has him ready to quit if it’ll make you happy again. “I take it there’s good news on the case?”

“Yea and new evidence that potentially puts us closer to solving this.”

“And freeing-?”

“That I can’t discuss. You and I both know,” he softly chuckles. At your little huff he can already picture you rolling those dangerously perfect eyes.

“Okay,” you pout, “I guess I’ll see you later then. Be careful.”

“I will. I’ll try not to be too long.”

Saying your final goodbyes, he’s embarrassingly greeted by the smirk of officer Daniels while he leans against the doorframe of his office.

“Soo the infamous friend..,” he states with a knowing grin.

“Don’t.”

“Can’t blame you, she’s really sweet. Not to mention beautiful-,”

The mix of annoyance and anger on Tim’s face is enough to stop Daniels in his tracks making him deeply chuckle with hands up in defeat. “Relax, I come in peace.”

“Wishing you didn’t at all,” Tim mumbles causing more chuckles from the man in front of him.

“Don’t think you’ll say that after you see this.” Gently placing the folder on his desk, Tim’s brow raises as he curiously flips open the gray cover. “Pretty sure this is our guy.”

You think you’re still dreaming when you hear that first click. Another - followed by a scrape against the hardwood - has your eyes quickly opening trying to register what was happening. You can faintly make out the bedroom thanks to the sliver of yellow-gold coming from the hall light as you slowly sit up. Not finding Tim asleep in his usual recliner in the corner of the room, you wonder if it’s him finally returning home.

“Tim?!”

The heavy footsteps - seemingly pacing back and forth - pause, and you feel an uneasiness creep over you at the momentary silence. A shadow of something to come you couldn’t quite place.

As the footsteps grow closer, that unease sets off alarms at the realization that those steps were heavier than Tim’s. He doesn’t wear boots…

It’s as if the intruder senses they’re caught in that same moment increasing their speed towards your bedroom. Luckily you bound from the bed locking the door mere seconds before they reach the knob furiously twisting and banging against the door trying to enter.

Amid the pounding in your chest and ears, you’re focused enough to lock yourself in the adjoining restroom and lie in the tub with trembling hands covering your mouth. Tears slowly slipping down your cheeks while wishing for the darkness to take you before the stranger can.

On the third hard thud, the room door breaks from its hinges startling you and sending screws scattering to the floor - and no doubt chips of wood.

“I know you’re in here. Might as well come out now, it’s only a matter of time before I find you.”

That familiar voice sends goosebumps down your body and bile stinging your throat.

His laugh isn’t a humorous one stepping across the threshold. Wood creaking and cracking under his weight. “I don’t know why you’re making me do this. Things could be so much easier if you’d just…listen.”

The echo of your vibrating phone carries into the bathroom making more tears spring from your eyes. Tim would be home any moment coming face to face with this man who wouldn’t stop until he got what he wanted. Possibly unarmed not expecting danger in what was supposed to be his safe haven.

A danger you ultimately caused.

If something happened to Tim-

“You run to him, but he’s not even here for you! Huh, some protector.”

If you weren’t so terrified, you’d easily be ready to defend your friend. Fight for him just as he’s always fought for you.

Hearing the bed squeak, you know he’s probably leaning on it to lift the cover’s edge and peek in the space under. Not finding you there, you figure there’s only seconds before he’s barging into your hiding place and doing God knows what.

“Guess you won’t believe me until you see for yourself though.” His tone hushes to just above a whisper taking a step closer. Then another, and you’re surprised he hasn’t said anything about your heartbeat how it surely could be heard thudding in your chest. “Fine with me doll.”

Flashes of what that could mean enter your mind only making you sob harder. A sheen of sweat breaking along your body anxiously waiting on that fearful moment the life you once knew would be over.

Rather than the cracking of another broken door, you’re met with Tim’s gruff voice yelling for the intruder to freeze and allowing you to finally breathe. His trusty black handgun drawn and trained on his target daring the stranger to move. “It’s over Kane. Down on your knees with hands on your head.”

Surprisingly he follows Tim’s instructions, slowly kneeling down on one knee then the other. Once his hands are in the right position, handcuffs are being tightened around his wrist and a solid blow sent to his ribs causing Kane to painfully grunt as he keels over.

“That’s assault!”

This time his cheek receives the punch immediately reddening the tan skin under his left eye - and Tim’s knuckles in the process. “Where is she?!”

Kane just darkly chuckles. “You tell me. Aren’t you the detective?” His smug jokes are no more feeling cold metal against his temple. A quick click signaling how the weapon was ready to fire at any moment Tim chose.

“Last fucking chance! Tell me-,”

He hears your cries the same moment Daniels and Kazinski rush into the bedroom with guns drawn themselves. Immediately they take over, hoisting the slightly battered man to his feet and reading him his rights, while Tim hurries to retrieve you. His heart breaking the moment he sees you visibly shaken in the tub with tears staining your face.

“I’m here honey it’s okay,” he attempts to soothe quickly gathering you in his arms. Your face instinctively buries itself in his neck finding comfort in the scratch of his beard and smell of tobacco mixed with sandalwood and his earlier cups of coffee. “I’m so sorry I wasn’t here sooner.”

It’s a few moments before you can find your voice again; even then it prickles climbing your throat and escapes in a hoarse whisper. “H-How did you know?”

“Your coworker told us about him. How he was banned because he came to the job every day bothering you. Daniels looked into him and we found…”

The way his Adams Apple bobs you can tell he’s struggling for his next words. Probably trying to soften a blow that would surely worsen your already destroyed mental and emotional state.

He clears his throat rubbing a soothing hand up and down your arm. “There was enough evidence that led us to believe he’d try something. We rushed here as soon as we could.”

Just when you thought your heart had been through enough. You could read between the lines and knew what Tim meant by evidence, and it made that queasy, unsettled feeling return. Kane found the somewhat secluded house of your best friend, who’s to say another of your friends wasn’t next? Your family even.

Hot tears - summoned from some unknown hidden reserve - begin to soak his shoulder as he slowly rocks you back and forth. Tim’s thick arms holding your shaking body tighter. Little did you know it was as much for him as you.

“He-He’s n-never gonna stop…is he?,” you direct more so to the open air. “Everyone I know-,”

“Hey hey listen to me,” Tim gently starts. His hands slightly pushing you away before moving to caress your face so you’d have no choice but to meet his sympathetic and caring eyes. “We got him. He can’t, and won’t, do anything to you or anybody else.”

“But-,”

“Even if - and it’s a very very small if - he tried something, I love you too much to let something happen.”

Maybe it was the overwhelm of emotions from such an eventful night. Maybe it was how Tim cradled your face - practically dwarfed by his larger hands - looking at you as if you were his most prized possession given by some high deity themselves. And maybe it was your hidden feelings finding a hopeful hook to latch onto that he felt the same about you. Either way, you couldn’t stop your lips from meeting his; moving so smoothly together it’s as if you’ve done this plenty of times.

Just pulling back an inch, Tim’s quick to follow smashing your lips together again as if he was addicted already. Inwardly, it makes you giggle. Feeling fuzzy and light as if dancing on the brightest sun ray on a spring day.

“We’re gonna take him downtow- oh..”

Forgetting where you were, Daniel’s voice is a startling reminder as you quickly part turning your heated face away from the bathroom’s entrance. Meanwhile, Mr. Rockford appears dazed attempting to act anything but trying to focus on his co-worker who just said..something important? “Um…y-yea Kane! We gotta-,”

“It’s taken care of Rockford,” Daniel’s answers professionally hiding his chuckles in his rock solid chest. Wait till he gets home to tell his wife this tea. Hell, he’ll have to text her on the way this was too good. “You uh take care of things here. I’ll keep you updated. Have a good night guys.”

And just as he said, Tim’s kept to his word almost a year later. Lying in your now shared bed with you perfectly molded to his side - your new home just outside of town in the relaxing countryside - he presses a loving peck to your forehead careful not to disturb your pleasant sleep. Watching you go so long without, it gives him a new layer of joy that Kane could no longer steal that from you. Your arm slung over his middle, his chest swells looking at the square cut diamond shining on your finger just waiting for you to wake up and notice it. To say yes to the question he’s been hoping you’d give him the chance to ask for some time now.

And down the line, maybe even build your little family giving you both a reason to decorate and fill the empty room across the hall.

* MY BEST FRIEND IS A ROCKSTAR: (tw: death) muse a & muse b have been best friends since they were kids and grew up together. throughout their childhood, muse b had always told muse a about his plans to become a famous musician and as he grew older, became more and more determined to make those dreams come true. when they both hit their teen years, feelings eventually grew and the two were head over heels for each other but neither of them was ever able to admit it. they were both terrified that the feelings would be unrequited or that it would ruin their friendships so just imagine the angst of them seeing each other with other people and FGHDFG. anyway, when muse b finally turns twenty-one, he decides to move to hollywood to make his dreams come true, and muse a stays in their small hometown. they keep in contact with one another but as time went on, muse b becomes a huge rockstar with his band and their contact start to drift but they always had each other in their thoughts, wishing they were closer to one another. a few years pass and they still speak but it’s not like before. muse b was hugely successful and enjoyed the life he was now living but always felt like something was missing. that someone was missing… it’s not until he gets a distraught call from muse a telling him that her mother died does he rush on a private jet and comes home to her. after helping her arrange the funeral and being there for her through her grief, he suggests that she comes on tour with him and the band. wanting to run away from everything and everyone in her small town, she agrees. queue cute ass moments on the tour bus, traveling the world and falling in love like they did when they were young. add drama, angst ( because they’re both still dumb and won’t admit to their feels) stadium tours, TENSION!!!, groupies, etc, etc.

Transfem authors of fiction: a list

I wrote a version of this list in Swedish for a meatspace friend, figure I might redo it for a tumblr audience. The books recommended are usually novels, and in case of prolific authors, the one recommended is usually the most successful and acclaimed one. I haven't read all of these, but I'm working on it. The list is in alphabetical order after the author's last name. I added some notes to the list, to introduce the authors and their books.

Nota Bene this list is based on my personal research, and largely reflects my own tastes in fiction, as in what I've read and considered reading. And it is of course not at all complete. And it's a transfem authors list, so no transmasc authors no matter how worthy. And it's about authors of fiction, not memoirs or non-fiction. So no Christine Jorgensen, even if she wrote a book I want to read. And Jan Morris gets in based on her two Hav novels, not her more prolific non-fiction work. Links are to my reviews on this blog if they exist.

Anders, Charlie Jane - SF/F writer, debuted with Choir Boy (2005), but most famous for All The Birds in the Sky (which won a Nebula).

Aoki, Ryka - her latest sf/f novel Light from Uncommon Stars is her most popular, but she has published both fiction and poetry before.

Becker, Saga - Våra Tungor Smakar våld (Swedish author, her book is untranslated, although quite good)

Binnie, Imogen - Nevada

Daniels, April - Dreadnought and its sequel Sovereign. Novels about a teenage trans girl superhero.

Kiernan, Caitlin R. - Usually categorized as a horror author, written numerous novels and short stories since her debut novel SIlk in 1998. The most acclaimed are probably her novels The Red Tree and The Drowning Girl (which won the Bram Stoker Award)

Morris, Jan - Hav (mostly wrote non-fiction, history books and travel literature, Hav is an omnibus of her two novels about Hav, both "imagined travelogues" about a fictitious country)

Peters, Torrey - Detransition Baby

Plett, Casey - Little Fish (Lambda award winner)

Pollack, Rachel - Prolific writer of several kinds of books, including a pioneering career as a sf/f writer. Did her fictional debut with a short story in a 1971 anthology (credited under her deadname) and published her first novel Golden Vanity in 1980, which are literally the earliest pieces of fiction by an out trans person (not memoir or non-ficton) I've been able to find. So very much a pioneer. Her most acclaimed book is probably Godmother Night (1996) which won the World Fantasy Award. Also wrote comics, most notably Doom Patrol.

Two out of three of the Jones siblings. Updated information/backstory down here 👇

So I originally was going to have Angie be Casey's sister in the beginning since in TMNT 2012, he mentions he has a little sister and a Dad. I then scrapped that idea cause I wanted to try making my own story for her only to recently end up not liking it. So now, I combined both ideas into one! And here it is!

Angie, Casey, and Daniel were all born in Oregon. Angie is the youngest, Casey is 2 years older than her, and Daniel is 5 years older than him. Their mother passed away a year after Angie was born.

When Daniel was 18, turning 19, he moved to NYC for college. Not long after (about a year), a fire happened, and it burned their house. Everyone made it, but Angie was the most shaken up since she almost got stuck inside. They were able to recover some stuff while family members helped replace important things like furniture.

They decided that since they needed to move, why not move to NYC since Daniel was their and they missed him (Casey wouldn't admit it, lol). Daniel ended up moving in with them as well since his college isn't that far away, and his roommate was a pain.

Fast forward to when Angie was around 15, she got mutated while walking to a friend's house. Since she never arrived, she was deemed missing. About a few months later, Daniel went to look for her since no one else would or they gave up, and he got hit with experimental mutagen that turned him into a huge alligator (Leatherhead). It sadly messed with his head, so his memory is a bit fuzzy, and he's more violent. All he remembers is his family. With some reminders, some bits and pieces of his memory return.

Meanwhile, Casey is very worried about what happened to his siblings, along with his Dad, who has become super strict about curfews with what's been happening. One night, when Casey snuck out to find the criminals who he thinks took his siblings, he bumps into Raph, later on meets the turtles, which leads to him finding Angie, and later on they find Daniel.

Hope this doesn't suck and makes sense. I tried hard to make it better :'D

I'll also make Daniel and try to update Leatherhead later 👍

A new house, a new start. That’s what Dani told herself as she climbed out of her truck and grabbed her duffle bag. She was a little early for her first shift but she’d rather be early than late.  “I’m looking for the Chief’s office,” she started as she walked into the common room. “Down the hallway,” someone tells her. “Thanks.” She makes her way past the bunk room and into the main office. “I’m here to meet with Chief Boden,” Dani tells the lady at the computer. “Through there,” the woman points. “Thanks.” Taking a deep breath she knocks on the door to the office and hears a clear “come in.” She opens the door and the Chief stands from his chair. “Welcome to 51, I’ve heard such great things about you,” he greets her, offering a hand to shake. “Thank you sir, glad to be here,” she tells him when the phone rings. “Sorry, about cutting this short but everything’s pretty straight forward, if you have any questions let me know, there’s new gear for you in the turn out room and lockers are just through the bunk room, find an open one and put your name on it,” he added. “No problem, thank you sir, I’m sure I’ll find everything just fine.” The Chief nodded before dismissing her. 

She walked back down the hallway to the bunk room and found an open locker, placing her things in it before placing her lock on it and finding the roll of tape. She ties back her hair and goes to leave the bunkroom when she runs into several of the other firefighters, most of them giving her a strange look. “Dani, what the hell are you doing here?” a familiar voice rings out, pushing through the others. “Oh I don’t know, my job?” she laughs. Matt Casey opened his arms and she stepped into them, embracing her long time friend. “It’s so good to see you, its been what 4 years? Did you really transfer in?” he asks and Dani nodded as she stepped back, allowing them to actually come into the bunk room. “Just had a meeting with Chief,” she tells him. “Casey, who’s this?” someone asks. “Our newest member of Truck 81 and an old friend of mine,” he tells them. “Danielle Halstead, pleasure to meet you guys,” she told them. A few of them raised their brow and looked at the 5’4” woman. “Look, I get it guys, I’m a woman and a smaller one at that, but I assure you that I’m capable. I did a few years in northern California after completing my candidacy here in Chicago,” she tells them and they nod slowly. “Ok, now that that’s over, we’ve got Herrmann, Mouch, Otis, and Cruz on truck,” Matt introduces. They all head into the locker room and Matt starts with a small tour. “We have a new canidate coming in today, another female,” he tells her. “Awesome, we always need more women firefighters,” Dani tells him as they walk into the common room. “Severide, Capp, Tony, Clarke, and Mills will be here in a few minutes, they’re squad. And we have Shay and Dawson as our paramedics,” Matt finishes with the two of them out on the app floor. Dani pulls him in for another hug. “It really is so good to see you again Matt, I missed you.” Matt smiled, and patted her on the back. “I’ve got to go finish some things but feel free to wander and settle in.”

“Truck 81, Squad 3, Ambulance 61. Person trapped,” the alarm rang out. “Shake a leg, guys,” Jones, the candidate, teases from inside the truck. “You're in my seat,” Herrmann grumbles to her and she moves. “That's my seat,” Mouch tells her when she moved. “Out of my seat,” Otis huffed and Jones scooted to the middle seat as Dani climbed in and shut the door. “Hey, does main know 61 isn't here?” Jones asks. “They'll catch the call over the radio, probably beat us to the scene,” Casey tells her. They pull up to the scene quickly and climb out. “Where's Dawson?” Casey asks. “I'm in here! Start warming up that IV just in case,” Dawson calls out. “This was all her idea. I had nothing to do with it,” Shay tells him. “Guys, we've got to get this girl outta here,” Dawson yells. “We got this. Herrmann. Let's get the saw,” Casey ordered. Jones turns and runs over to the truck. “Where's she going?” Herrmann asks. Jones pulls out the saw from the compartment and everyone watches as she practically drops it, cringing at the sound the blade on the pavement made. “Whoa. It's a lot heavier than the ones we trained on,” Jones tells Herrmann who grabs the saw from her. “Candidate, is your name Herrmann?” Casey yells. “I was just trying to help, sir,” Jones tries to explain. “Blade's all jacked up,” Herrmann yells, after looking the saw over. “Clarke, grab our saw,” Severide yells. Clarke moves quickly heading for the squad truck. “Jones! Stand over here and don't touch a damn thing!” Casey yells. Jones walks back over and Otis claps sarcastically for her. “It's gonna be another minute, Dawson. Sorry,” Severide tells her. “Shay, where's that IV?” Dawson calls out and Shay moves to hand it to her. Clarke hands Severide the saw and Casey pulls the lock with a strap so that they can make a clean cut. “Okay?” Severide asks and Casey nods. The lock is cut and Casey pulls open the door to the clothes donation bin. “I need blankets and a backboard right now. Let's move!” Dawson yells. 

On the way back from the call Herrmann watches Dani like he’s trying to figure something out. “Can I help you with something Herrmann?” she asks with a brow raised. “Say, you don’t happen to be related to a certain detective at 21, with the same last name as you?” he asks. “One of my older brothers, the other’s a doctor in New York,” she tells him before looking out of the window. She didn’t exactly have the best relationship with her brothers, she hadn’t even told Jay she was back in town. The trucks pull back into the garage and everyone climbs out, heading for the common room. “Oh, hey, Connie,” Mouch calls from the couch as she walks by. “The union is sending over some paperwork for me. I'm gonna need you to sign for that. Thanks.” Connie glared in Mouch’s direction before walking back to the offices. “You're poking the bear, Mouch. We've warned you about that,” Herrmann tells him, sitting down in one of the armchairs. “Get outta here. Connie loves me,” Mouch waved him off before turning and looking at the candidate in the kitchen. “Oh, hey, Jonesie. Just a heads up. If lunch isn't on the table at 12:00 sharp, the natives start to get restless,” he told her and Dani raised a brow, taking a seat at the round table beside Otis with a worn sketchbook. “And by natives, he means himself,” Herrmann tells her. “Duly noted. In the meantime, Lieutenant Casey said I'd be running drills today. I'd love to get started on that.” Jones looked around at her fellow firefighters, who made no moves. “Don't all jump at once. Otis? Halstead?” she asks. “Got a lot on my mind right now,” Otis tells her and Dani simply holds up her book. “Okay, so who's gonna drill me?” 

Cruz snickers to himself. “I'm not touching that with a 10-foot pole.” Jones turned to him. “10? I heard it was more like 4 ½.” Herrmann lets out a huff of laughter before shaking his head. “Hey. That is inappropriate.” Jones rolled her eyes. “Seriously, guys, I thought this was supposed to be a busy house,” Jones tried. “It's called downtime,” Dani called out, opening her sketchbook to a blank page. “Well, I don't feel like sitting on my ass. Could someone at least show me where the weight room is?” Jones asks. “You got energy to burn? Right this way,” Herrmann tells her smugly, leading Jones back towards the bunk room. Dani sketches for a little bit before deciding that she was going to go sketch the outside of the firehouse. She grabs her CFD jacket and beanie and walks past the squad table, earning her a few confused looks as she makes her way outside to sit criss-crossed in the driveway. “What the hell is the new girl doing?” Tony asks. Severide watched her for a moment somewhat intrigued, as she pulled out a pen from her pocket. He stood and followed her outside, coming to a stop in front of her. “What are you doing?” he asks. Dani raises a brow and looks up at the squad lieutenant. “I’m drawing the firehouse,” she tells him simply. “Ok but why?” he asks. “Because I have the time to, why not?” she asks in return. “That’s fair, I suppose,” he chuckles, sticking a hand out to her. “Kelly Severide.” Dani takes it, shaking his hand firmly. “I figured, Danielle Halstead, but my friends call me Dani,” she tells him. It was like a lightbulb went off in his head. “You’re the Dani that Matt has talked about! The one who fought wildfires.” Dani laughed. “All good things I hope,” she asked and Kelly nodded. “It’s nice to put a face to the name, welcome to 51,” he tells her. “Glad to be here,” she smiled up at him. “Kelly,” an older man begins walking up the driveway. “Right, well, I guess I’ll leave you to your drawing,” he tells her before heading inside with the man.

“Truck 81, Ambulance 61. Person stabbed. California and West 26th.” Dani stood up and ran inside, setting her sketchbook down with her regular boots and pulling up her turnout pants. “Sounds like we're here for crowd control, so all hands on deck. Protect the medics,” Casey starts as he climbs out of the truck. “Jones, where are you gonna be?” he asks. “Glued to your hip, Lieutenant,” Jones replies. “That's right. Let's go,” Casey gestures for everyone to follow him. “Crowd control. Great,” Herrmann mumbles as they push through the crowd. “This way, courtroom number four.” An officer meets up with them. “We're in the middle of a murder trial. Victim's father snuck a knife through security and stabbed the defendant. He's bleeding out,” the officer informs them. “I told you. Cut me loose,” the accused groans. “Cruz, get a hold of him,” Casey orders. The guy groans and screams as Shay and Dawson begin assessing him. “All right, his lung's hit. Could develop into a pneumothorax,” Shay tells them. “Get me an occlusive dressing. We've got to get him out now,” Dawson tells the other officer, who moves to uncuff the accused. “Oh, man,” the officer mutters. “What?” Casey asks. “The key. It broke off in the lock.” Casey narrows his eyes on the officer. “There's cops all over the place. Somebody's got to have a key.” The officer who had met them at the door shook her head. “These are maximum-security cuffs. A standard key won't fit. I'll call over to the jail. They'll have a key.” Dawson shook her head. “No time. He's losing too much blood,” she told them. “Otis, get the bolt cutters from the truck. Hurry.” Casey ordered. “On it,” Otis yells, heading for the truck. “Shay, get me an IV and oxygen,” Dawson ordered. “Herrmann, give me the halligan, Mouch. Hold him,” Casey calls out. The accused groans. “Guys, we're losing him,” Dawson shouts. “If he dies on our watch…” the officer starts. “Halstead, Jones, search the halls for a co2 extinguisher. Fast as you can,” Casey orders. “I'll go this way. You go that way,” Jones yells as the two women run down the hallway. “Yeah, aye, aye,” Dani mutters as Jones runs off. Finding an extinguisher Dani runs back towards the courtroom, spotting Jones darting through the door ahead of her. “Hit the eyebolt,” Casey tells Jones. He watches it for a moment before telling her to stop. Taking the halligan and breaking the chain off, Dawson and a few of the others jump into action, getting the accused onto a backboard to carry out. 

The next few hours were pretty slow, and Dani had finished her drawing of the firestation and was currently sitting on her bunk and scrolling through her phone. “Engine 51. Truck 81, Squad 3, Ambulance 61. High-rise fire. Michigan and Huron,” the alarm rang out. The firehouse jumped into action, everyone rushing to their rigs to get rolling. “So they rolled out Squad right away. Does that mean this is a working fire?” Jones asks and the experienced members in the back of the truck glanced at each other. “Don't know yet. But any call in a high-rise, we have to take it seriously. If it is a fire and it gets out of hand, that's bad,” Casey told her. “Must be your first high rise in a while Halstead, not quite the same as the woods is it?” Herrmann asks. “It’s definitely a different beast but this is why I took a few extra training courses before I transferred in, as a refresher,” she told him. Herrmann seemed to look at her with a little more respect after her words. Dani knew that she had been quiet and just went through the motions of the day earlier so she understood that some in the firehouse may have been skeptical of her abilities, given there weren’t many female firefighters out there, especially in Chicago. They pulled up on the scene and got out. “Wow. This is a real party,” Jones murmured. 

“People are reporting smoke on 18. That's a law firm,” the building manager met them at the door and told them. “Anyone workin' late?” Boden asks. “I don't know, but I got bad news for you. Elevators have been acting up. I put in a work order on Monday,” the building manager told them. “Otis, recall these elevators. Lock 'em off. We're takin' the stairs. North stairwell, fire attack. South, evacuation. Engine 51, Truck 81, Squad, fire attack and search on 18. Engine 67, lobby control. Truck 63, rapid ascent team and evac,” Chief calls into the radio. “Jones, get a spare bottle for yourself,” Casey calls out. “I'm coming up?” she asks. “You and I are gonna help engine. Grab a high-rise pack,” Casey tells her. The candidate jumps into action, grabbing what she was told and lugging them up onto her shoulder, grunting a little at the extra weight. “You wanted to be a firefighter…” Herrmann trailed off as they headed for the stairwell. 

“Jones. Hose pack and air bottles,” Casey called and the candidate moved forward, handing them to the waiting Engine member. A Dull roaring was heard from the fire. “Jones! Mask up,” Casey orders. “Come on, move! Come on!” Severide yells. “Ready?” he asks and when he gets nods of confirmation from everyone he opens the door. A blast of heat washed over them as they proceeded in. “You're gonna be fine, Jones! Just stick with me! Go where I go, okay?” Casey tells the candidate, who nods. “Mouch! Herrmann! You take the left! Casey, you go right, I'll go deep!” Severide called out. “Halstead! With Severide!” Casey ordered and Dani crouched a little and moved further into the engulfed floor, sticking to Severide’s back. “Fire department! Call out!” they shout. They worked in tandem, going back and forth to the stairwell, helping people up and passing them off to the others and when the last person was accounted for they both headed down the stairs and out into the cool night air, allowing Engine to finish putting out the blaze. One of the other medics passed them both water bottles and they took them gratefully. “Good work, Halstead, you ever want to try for squad I’d be glad to have you,” Severide tells her after they had both downed half the water bottles they’d been given. “Thanks lieutenant,” she offered him a small smile as he patted her on the shoulder and walked away.

What Ever Happened to Tila Tequila?

Hey hotties, so for my first blog I want to talk about someone who I had somewhat of a fascination with when I was younger and that's Tila Tequila, for the younger people who have no idea who this woman with the funny name is, Tila Tequila is.. or was a television personality, singer/rapper, blogger, occasional actress, socialite, and model. But most importantly, she was pretty much the world's first social media influencer. See, after being suspended so many times on the now-defunct Friendster, Tila Tequila joined MySpace in fall of 2003 and by 2006 she became the most friended person of the MySpace. From what I've read, I believe she was apart of a rock band at the time of joining MySpace but that's kind of irrelevant to the story, anyhow, in 2007, MTV offered Tila Tequila her own reality show, the concept was a dating show that offered both male and female bachelor and bachelorette's, respectively titled A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila (Get it because Tequila and Shot?). So bam not only was she the most followed person on MySpace but now she was a pioneer for the bisexual reality television world. The show ran for two seasons and although she picked a gentleman named Bobby, they never even went out together let alone ever have her phone number. The following season, she picked a girl named Kirsty but in the biggest plot twist, Kristy rejected the offer and gave the world (me at least) one of the best season finale's in dating show history, with Kristy looking at the mansion one last time before entering the limo to leave Tila all alone crying in her bedroom to "Keep Driving" by Woodale I mean it was really good to me at least. The show was then handed down to the bisexual twin hooters waitresses Rikki and Vikki Mongeon better known as the Ikki Twins. Around this time, Tila began dating bisexual socialite and would be heiress to the Johnson & Johnson fortune Casey Johnson (who I will be making a blog on) and on December 9, 2009, Tequila announced via Ustream, her engagement to the socialite. Unfortunately on January 4, 2010, Casey Johnson was found dead inside of her Los Angeles estate by a housekeeper. Casey's cause of death was later revealed to be diabetes which she had struggled with from the age of 8. In my opinion, this was the beginning of Tila's mental downfall. Although, Tila had began to rebrand herself as a blogger under the name Miss Tila and began coming out with more music, in August she was attacked at the Gathering of the Juggalos festival. The same month, her lesbian sex tape was released to the public via Vivid Entertainment. Tila went quiet after this and the only thing I could find was that in January 2012, she discussed converting to Judaism, stating "I just feel like the Jewish people have such a beautiful way about them, and I can't wait to officially be Jewish! Shabbat Shalom." Strangely enough, in 2013, she uploaded a blog which she titled "Why I Sympathize with Hitler." She went on to say the following, “What do you think war is about? People DIE in wars that is why I am against wars… I understand the Jewish people went through some shit too, but hey guess what?? SO DID THE MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE WHO SUFFERED IN EVERY SINGLE WAR THST [sic] TOOK PLACE! You were NOT the only ones! So please, if the rest of us can forgive and forget maybe it’s time you do also!!!”

Flash forward to 2015, Tila Tequila is invited to go on the British version of Celebrity Big Brother alongside Farrah Abraham, Jenna Jameson, and Daniel Baldwin. At the time, Nguyen (Tequila's surname) was looking to be payed $175,000 win or lose the game. During her time in the house, she got a long with housemates and seemed to be off, not mentally there, overly sexual (regardless of claiming to have a boyfriend at home), and at times, human. However, on day two, she was called to the diary room, however long later, the housemates were called into the living room and told the following, "Due to events outside the Big Brother house, Tila has been removed from the house." Accoring to what I've read, production confronted her about the 2013 blog. The following day, Tila issued a statement,

"Back in 2013 I made a statement about Hitler not being a bad person, and immediately realized soon after that I had made a terrible mistake that would ultimately come back to haunt me. During that time I had been suffering from severe depression, and drug addiction for many years prior to that" She continued, "I also attempted to commit suicide in 2012 and overdosed on prescription pills. I wanted to die. I felt worthless and unloved as that pain continued to grow causing me further to spiral out of control. Losing touch of myself and reality.

"I have made many mistakes that I am definitely not proud about, but I am only a flawed human who is trying my best to be a better person than I was in the past. Although I cannot do much to change my past mistakes now, I can however, try to make things right from this morning forward, and be the best person that I can be. I am in no way, shape or form a racist nor antisemitic and absolutely not 100% a Nazi supporter."

Apparently this apology meant nothing because the following year, on November 18, 2016, Tila posted a photo to twitter of her with two white men posing with the Nazi Salute to which she titled "Seig Heil". Her twitter account was subsequently suspended.

In 2018, she began posting YouTube videos reffering to herself as the "Bride of Christ" and turned into this religious... for a lack of better words, freak. She didn't seem to be doing too bad until around 2022 when she posted a video slurring the N word with the Hard r and pulled out a gun (I dont know the rules on her so i dont know if I'm allowed to say that) which i believe was fake but none the less, her kids were around and it just seems dangerous. She would say her children are Hitler babies and I don't know I mention all of this to show the mental decline of someone who was actually pretty famous and well off to a terrible...person I guess?

Now if you ask me, I think that Tila was going through a lot, as stated in the 2015 apology, I do think she is bipolar, she openly talked about having many alter ego's, one being named Jane which she mentions in her song Rat Room, but I honestly feel sorry for her, and I feel sorry for the kids, I just think if she was medicated none of this would be happening. I also think Casey's death took a toll on her mentally as well.

Well, I've been writing this for 3 or 4 hours which yes I know it's short but I had a lot to say about this situation.

The disassembly drones' former names

I figured that I would share this headcanon with all of you sooner or later. You know each of the disassembly drones’ serial designations? Well, what if their letters were based off their former names back when they were worker drones? And I’m not talking about the first letter of their names. I’m talking about the name of the letter in each of their names. For example, N’s former name was probably either Kenneth, Bennett, or Leonard, and V’s former name probably either Venus, Vivian, or Genevieve. J’s former name was probably either Jamie or Jane, the latter of which I was initially going for Mary Jane (yes, the same name as the famous supporting character from Spider-Man). I’m unsure about CYN or Cynthia, though, largely because that she probably died long before the events of the series that she wasn’t converted into a disassembly drone. Besides, for all we know, she was going on a crazy, murderous rampage that she had to be put down. And if she was converted into a disassembly drone, her designation might be either C from the first letter of her name or T from a phonetic of her name (Cynthia).

The former names should go as followed:

I also want to share that I used to have a theory that J, N, and V used to be regular secretary drones before being converted into disassembly drones, as well as my former headcanon that N used to be friends with his assigned human coworker.
